ECW Review 7/1/2008 The Mark Henry Show

Mark Henry on the mic? He was kind of ok, I guess. Tommy Dreamer came out and challenged Mark Henry.

Tommy Dreamer where’s spandex now?

Collin Delaney gets an ECW title shot!

Matt Hardy, Finlay & Hornswoggle defeated. Chavo Guerrero, The Miz, & Morrison

This was a standard six man tag. They isolated Matt Hardy early on, and worked him over until he got the hot tag and Finlay came in and cleaned house, then Hornswoggle came through with the tadpole splash and the win for the team. Chavo once again gets embarrassed.

Atlus Ortiz defeated Armando Estrada

This match kind of sucked. The crowd was dead for the most part, and eventually started to get into it towards the finale. The match was just full of Estrada doing rest holds and trying to build offense against this random new guy. The new guy pulled a back slide out of nowhere, and it was over.

Atlus looks goods, but reminds me too much of Final Fight for the SNES (Arcade) and doesn’t really have too many moves yet.

Marky Henry (Champion) vs. Collin Delaney
Non Title Match

Mark Henry basically beat the crap out of Collin Delaney. Delaney got in about 2 punches and then just got beat to oblivion. This is two steps below a jobber match, and only proved that Mark Henry can beat down smaller guys.

At the beginning of the show, they made it seem that this was a title match, but it wasn’t. It didn’t matter though. Delaney didn’t have a chance.

This whole show wasn’t all that great. It seemed a little short and boring to me. At least there is a new character and Teddy Long promised new superstars coming to ECW so maybe he’ll have some more people.
