TNA Impact 6/4/09 Review

Here we go, another TNA show, and you know what? I’m so tired, that I wanted to sleep. However, I must go through with it. Just a heads up, I won’t be reviewing Smackdown this week, I’m going to be at a Mariners game and won’t have time. So I apologize right now for that. I also have my mother in law in town so I’m not 100% sure about Raw, but we’ll see.

First things first, The Franchise is in the building!

Oh and I’m not sure if you noticed but the TNA company sold their mat for ad space! For 6 hour power! Nice way to sell out TNA.

Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Christopher Daniels & Suicide

Alright, we get a nice x-division opening match up, and it’s not so bad. There was some great tandem work in this math. Daniels double clothesline was good stuff, and Suicide’s rolling samoan drop was nice too. Bashir took some major hits, and Suicide looked like a million bucks. Midway through this match a ton of backstage guys came down to beat up Suicide. Kiyoshi and Daniels were left in the ring and out came Shane Douglas with a CHAIN! Kiyoshi then pinned Christopher Daniels for great win!

Shane Douglas talked smack. Anyone else notice how fat Shane Douglas is now? Look how fat that guy is? He’s off the juice or something.

Beer Money defeated Consequences Creed & Chris Sabin

I admit, Beer Money is a legit tag team and I like them. I like that they are pushed as a team and not just another mash up of singles wrestlers that are going to split and fight each other. Remember when WWE split Team 3-D that was terrible….oh man Deacon Devon and Batista? Hilarious…or wait Deacon Batista? I don’t know. It sucked. Consequences Creed totally mistimed a backfliip, and I cracked up so bad, geez that guy is more amateur as time goes on. Beer Money put on a great tag match, since they are a team. The British Invasion came down, but so did Team 3D to stop the interference! The Last Call was hit and it lead to the DWI and Beer Money gets the win, in this not so bad tag team match up.

Victoria’s new name is now Terra or Tera?

Daffney is hot. I like her. I’m weird.

An interview with the Main Event Mafia was boring. Here was a blatant continuity error…Nash is told he has a lethal lockdown match, however, Foley earlier had a discussion with Foley about it earlier in the show, which was AFTER the presumed meeting with Foley. Lame. This thing was stupid, I hate these segments, they should have more wrestling.

Scott Steiner kept repeating “He’s FAT!” which was a great comeback, great comeback.

Daffney defeated Taylor Wilde

This match opened up with Daffney taking a nice hit into the steel steps outside! Stevie Richards and Raven came down to ringside to watch. The Lobotomy was hit and Daffney won this short match up. Daffney’s finisher is a rolling northern lights suplex with bridge, it’s not half bad.

Matt “The Blueprint” Morgan defeated Jesse Neal

Jesse Neal’s first match was interesting, only in that Matt Morgan was killing him like a jobber. He was throwing the guy around like there was no tomorrow, and it was interesting to me, to see a newcomer take some major bumps. Remember when Maven threw out the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble? That was funny…Jesse Neal was just getting worked over. The Carbon Footprint knocked out Jesse Neal, and it was over.

Just a heads up, TNAvideovault sucks, it’s a Monthly charging service. If you’re going to go for a monthly subscription go for a bangbros.com subscription, it’s less ambiguously gay.

TNA had a TON of talking. Foley in ring, backstage Sting interview, than Matt Morgan saying he’s going to get into the Mafia…boring stuff. At this point it was 10:42 pm…there wasn’t much time left for a match up.

Samoa Joe defeated Kevin Nash in a six sides of steel match

The match opened up with Kendo Sticks! They were going to town on each other with Kendo Sticks, and it was hilarious. It seemed like they started working stiff. While Nash started to takeover this match up, we cut to break. I must tell you that at 10:55 the show came back on, leaving very little time for this match to develop. We come back from break and it’s Samoa Joe that is the aggressor. This six sides of steel seems pointless to me, it’s just not that exciting when you know there’s only 4 minutes left in the show. So with 2 minutes going forward, there was a rest hold from Joe, and I wasn’t sure where this was going. A hockey stick showed up in Joe’s hand and he swung for the fences, and Nash was completely knocked out. Samoa Joe wins via pinfall after that. This was a terrible match up. Lame.
