ECW on ScyFy 8/25/09 Results

Shamus vs Goldust double count out
Tyler Rex and Yoshi Tatsu defeated Shelton Benjamin and Zack Ryder
William Regal defeated Christian

ECW on ScyFy 8/25/09 Review

The show began with William Regal and his cronies in ring talking about how the fans are idiots. Christian came out to the ramp with mic in hand, and prodded William Regal, in usual Christian fashion. I of course was half asleep. The general manager came out, and made a rematch for tonight to get the number one contender spot.

Shamus vs Goldust double count out

These guys have been exchanging wins for a while now, and it’s somewhat nice to finally see Goldust getting a little bit of a push, even if it is on ECW and not the main stage. The crowd seemed into this match, despite the lack of major titles on the line or anything that would fabricate crowd reaction. Goldust hit a flatliner, and it looked like this one was all gold, but Shamus managed to kick out. The two went to the floor and battled it out, and eventually both opponents were counted out, and that was the end of this one.

Tyler Rex and Yoshi Tatsu defeated Shelton Benjamin and Zack Ryder

This match seemed strange to me, but I admit, I wasn’t feeling good so this whole night was surreal. Benjamin and Rex started this match exchanging reversals, and it was Rex that was impressing the crowd until Benjamin quieted him up. Ryder would not tag in, in typical heel fashion. It was Shelton that ended up wrestling most of this match up, until he finally got fed up and forcefully threw Ryder into the ring. Ryder didn’t get any offense in, just got booted in the face, and Tatsu got the win easily. This match was ok, Tatsu continues to impress the fans, and it’s nice to see a Japanese wrestler getting back into the WWE roster.

William Regal defeated Christian

This match was predictable to me. After their summerslam match, it seemed only natural that these two would fight again for the belt, just not tonight. Christian was definitely on top of his game, at least for the onset of the match up, but it went downhill as Regal was trying to impose his will. Regal kept hitting Christian with heavy hands, and rest holds, but it was Christian that was making this match interesting for me. William Regal hit his finisher and won clean. No interference, no major qualms, he won clean. Well…Kozlov distracted Christian, so this wasn’t the cleanest, but eh…what are you gonna do?

ECW kind of sucked tonight. Maybe I was tired, maybe it was actually just a bad show.

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/24/09 Results

The Miz defeated Santino
Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox defeated Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Gail Kim
Mark Henry & MVP defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho
Hornswoggle vs Chavo Guerrero no contest
Dx & Vince and McMahon defeated Legacy

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/24/09 Review

The opening of this night had Randy Orton and Legacy explain that the interference wasn’t a fan but it was Ted Dibiase Jr’s brother. Then they just looked at the camera and randomly said crap, I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention, I was too tired to really focus on Orton. I just know he was still the Champion.

Vince McMahon came down and said that Floyd Mayweather would be hosting. But before that happened, Vince McMahon got surprised by DX and they gave him a fitting video tribute to the man, since it was his birthday. There was then a long winded opening segment with DX and Vince McMahon for his birthday.

Amidst the celebration, out came Legacy and attacked. Triple H makes a match, featuring Legacy against Degeneration X and Vince McMahon in a no dq match up, set for tonight.

The Miz defeated Santino

Santino wasn’t up to his antics, and he was getting worked over quite well by The Miz. This was essentially a squash match, and was boring at that.

Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendez, and Alicia Fox defeated Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Gail Kim

The women were all wearing protective gloves like the ones worn in the UFC. It wasn’t for any particular reason that I could see since the match up was just a regular wrestling match. I’m assuming this was done for the host, who hadn’t arrive at the time of this match up. In a surprise, and I do mean surprise to me, Alicia Fox attempted the worst looking scissors kick in wrestling history, to win over Mickie James. This match sucked the life out of Raw, if it had any to begin with.

The Big Show & Chris Jericho came out to the ring and talked trash. Floyd Mayweather finally showed up and he was talking to Big Show about how he mopped him up. Midway through this segment, MVP came out and got on the mic. Somewhere through the MVP drivel, he got himself and a partner a WWE tag title match, or at least a non title match later on tonight…featuring himself and Mark Henry.

Mark Henry & MVP defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho

Surprisingly, this match was actually getting a lot of time for a raw tag team mash up. Big Show and Jericho were a lot smarter than their opponents, and it showed whenever their moves were countered. Jericho especially was on top of his game, but it was Mark Henry and MVP that were getting the most out of this match up. Those two not only got the crowd fully behind them, but also made the champions look competent without taking away anything in the mean time. MVP and Mark Henry looked poised to win the belts with several near falls during this match up. Jericho and Big Show also looked like they had this sewn up too, and it was actually a good overall match up, with some great spots, regardless of lack of a feud. While the Referee was not looking, Floyd Mayweather slipped MVP a pair of Brass Knuckles, and with those knocked out Jericho! He then followed it up with a pinfall victory, and they will now go to face the champions for the titles at Breaking Point ppv.

Hornswoggle vs Chavo Guerrero no contest

Now it was time for another comedy match, and bathroom break. Chavo has sunk to the bottom, there’s nothing else to say about it. In this boxing match, Chavo had huge, oversized, boxing gloves and had to box Hornswoggle…sadly this took the winds out of the sails of the last match up and really made me want to go back to sleep. The match was basically a no contest, with Evan Bourne coming down to save Hornswoggle from getting killed.

Dx & Vince and McMahon defeated Legacy

This match wasn’t all that great, but it was adequate enough. I was too tired, not feeling well, and just trying to make it through another Raw at this point. I was giving it my best shot. Randy Orton and his cronies had this match in full control, punishing Shawn Michaels towards the second half of this match up. He was definitely working over the time clock and making Shawn Michaels too tired to be effective. Vince got tagged into the match up and things were going south, Orton tried to leave the arena, but was thrown back in via John Cena. Orton then got hit with Sweet Chin Music, then the Attitude Adjustment, and Vince McMahon got the pinfall over Orton, and that was the end of that.

This edition of Raw was bad…but the tag match was ok, so maybe it was worth watching.

**Note** just a heads up, I won’t be reviewing TNA or Smackdown this week. I will have my mother in law in town, and this might carry over into next week’s raw.

I will post the results, if I can, otherwise, you guys are flying solo for a little while. Sorry for the lapse…I try, to keep things in focus, but eh. It happens.

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/17/09 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated Carlito in a U.S Title Match
The Miz defeated Evan Bourne
Mickie James defeated Gail Kim in a women’s title match
MVP defeated Jack Swagger via disqualification
Hornswoggle defeated Chavo Guerrero in a falls count anywhere match
John Cena & Randy Orton defeated Chris Jericho & The Big Show in a lumber jack match

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/17/09 Review

Freddie Prinze Jr started on the mic, and it wasn’t that bad. He was actually making some quick references, and he seemed like a legit fan and not someone promoting something. He’s not half bad, yet…but the night is young. Mid speech out came a fisherman with a hook, in full costume. It turns out it was Santino! Santino made a few jokes about pas movies that have come out before, and it was hilarious, Santino is great on the mic. Orton came out and wanted out of the main event, when Freddie refused, Orton hit him with a sick finisher, not he RKO, and he went down.

Nice opening segment, nothing too crazy here, a little comedy a little wrestling, and we’re on our way.

Kofi Kingston defeated Carlito in a U.S Title Match

Here was a good overall match up. I didn’t see the Superstars match, but the clips were good. Carlito kept trucking through Kofi’s onslaught of moves. Kofi kept pushing through with high flying moves, from the top rope, or springboards, creating some excitement for the crowd, who was really getting into this match. It was Carlito that was putting on a clinic, with smart reversals, and all things pointing to the backstabber, but it wasn’t to be had, as Kofi got out of the way of the Backstabber attempt, and landed Trouble in Paradise, for the quick win. Kofi did not win an easy one, but he manage to win this one, escaping yet again, with the title.

The Miz defeated Evan Bourne

The Miz was all over Bourne, who was having trouble getting his usual offense in. The Miz was hitting way harder than in the past, trying to prove something to the fans, or to the guys in the back. He was really putting the boots to Evan Bourne, with some heavy hits, and eventually with some submission moves that would’ve caused the average man to tap, but not here, Bourne kept hanging in there. The Miz went to the top rope, and was ready to pounce on Bourne, but was thwarted with a quick kick to the face, in a nicely timed maneuver. It looked like Bourne was going to get a second wind, and possibly edging out a win, but it never worked out, The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale and it was the end. The Miz wins, and Bourne continues to lose on raw.

Degeneration X reformed, they had a funny bit, but it was cut short once they got to the ring. Legacy ran down to the ring and beat the crap out of the newly formed degeneration x, proving that Triple H was wrong about getting Shawn back in ring. Hopefully this means that DX gets two more additions, oh you didn’t know? Well…I’m calling for Bg James and Kip James to come in and help, but it’s highly doubtful. Legacy beat the crap out of the DX guys, and left them in ring, nearly knocked out.

Mickie James defeated Gail Kim in a women’s title match

I’m not sure why the WWE gave us this match for free, but it was ok. These two can wrestle, but this match didn’t showcase that too much. It was actually interesting to see these women work together, especially since it seemed like Mickie James was working in a half step slower than what Gail Kim could’ve done. In fact, Gail Kim looked right at home in this match, while Mickie James (who seems to have gained a little weight) was winded. The rolling schoolboy pin reversals, mid match, was definitely great. Other than that, this match seemed to have just random points and spots, with no psychology of sorts. At one point Mickie James nearly broke her neck in a Hurricanrana. Mickie James won this match up, but with little to no fan fare, and little to no celebration. It almost looked like Kim was legit injured in this match up. This was an ok match up, but too short, and too wild and reckless for my tastes.

MVP defeated Jack Swagger via disqualification

Once again, we get a free match, that should’ve been on ppv, right? Maybe not. MVP didn’t get any major offense in during this match up. Jack Swagger went on the attack in this match up, and didn’t stop. He kept hitting MVP in the corner, eventually getting disqualified, and this match was too short, and really went nowhere fast.

Hornswoggle defeated Chavo Guerrero in a falls count anywhere match

Once again, Chavo gets stuck wrestling Hornswoggle. This time it was a falls count anywhere match up. This match went all the way to the back, and as Chavo opened up a door, a paint can hit him in the face. He lost to Hornswoggle yet again. As he got up, the camera showed the star of Home Alone! Yep! This match sucked, and I was too tired to like the cameo.

John Cena & Randy Orton defeated Chris Jericho & The Big Show in a lumber jack match

This match turned into a lumber jack match, with only good guys on the outside of the ring. This match made no major sense to me. John Cena, who easily handed The Big Show a victory several times before, couldn’t get any offense in against the big man in this match up. He was acting like he never wrestled The Big show, obviously there were a few moments, but nothing major. Orton wouldn’t tag Cena in, so Cena threw him inside the ring and forced a tag. Orton immediately got speared out of his boots by Big show, and rolled outside. He then got thrown back in by the lumberjacks; however the damage from Show had already been done. Jericho and Big Show worked together like a well oiled machine, forcing Orton into a world of pain, meanwhile Cena was trying to get tagged in, doing the opposite of what Orton was doing previously, allowing himself to look like he cared about the match, even though they are bitter rivals. Cena got tagged in and it was house cleaning time, with Cena going on a roll! He was setting up for the Five Knuckle shuffle, got blocked, but then hit the Attitude Adjustment on Jericho and won the match. However, immediately after the match up, Orton hit an RKO to cut the celebration a little early.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/14/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay
CM Punk defeated John Morrison
Melina defeated Layla
The Big Show defeated JTG
The Hart Dynasty defeated Jeff Hardy

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/14/09 Review

CM Punk opened up the show, and his new shirt is badass! Now that’s a shirt! I love that thing, if you saw it, you know! Punk got on the mic and delivered another one of his heel speeches. Teddy Long came out and interrupted Cm Punk. Jeff Hardy came down and talked some more, and that was that.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay

Dolph Ziggler and Finlay put on a halfway decent match. Ziggler took some punishment, and wasn’t able to counter Finlay’s overt style, but was in fact able to get a few shots in, including a running kick to the corner of the ring, to lead us to commercial break. Upon returning from the break, Dolph Ziggler was showcasing how intelligent Ziggler is in regards to his abilities. He was playing the more technical wrestler role here, while Finlay was having a hard time managing reversals. Finlay’s overt strong style, complimented Ziggler’s attempts for technical counters and heavier impact moves. Mike Knox came to ring side, and was watching outside the ring, meanwhile the two mid carders were putting on a good match up. Ziggler, continued to take punishment towards the end of this match up, with Finlay hitting hard shots to the face, and eventually tossing Ziggler outside of the ring, right in front of Mike Knox. As the two men went back to the ring, Knox hit Finlay, and Ziggler capitalized winning this match and moving forward in his quest to solidify his wrestling skills.

Post match Mike Knox attacked Finlay and pummeled him outside of the ring.

CM Punk defeated John Morrison

Here we go, Cm Punk vs Morrison three, and this time Punk was starting things out solid. The match started to get a little fast paced, and of course we had to go commercial break. After we came back from Break, the two were locked into Punk’s more technical style, forcing Morrison to stay grounded instead of hitting his fast paced offense. Punk was definitely trying to tire out Morrison so that he couldn’t hit his finisher, and more. However, Morrison kept finding ways to wiggle out of headlocks, and stretches, causing Punk to show a little frustration over this match up. Punk couldn’t hit his GTS, trying twice to get Morrison down for the count. Morrison nearly put away Punk twice, nearly hitting his Starship Pain, but it wasn’t to be had, as Punk fought back hard, and eventually hit the GTS to get the pinfall victory, finally defeating Morrison. This gets match of the week for wrestling, that’s for sure. This was a good overall match up, and Punk really proved that he’s not just a paper champion or a midcarder on his way down. Morrison also was impressive, but was two steps behind Punk at the end, and Punk made sure to capitalize, making this match a good entertaining bout.

Melina defeated Layla

Layla was giving a lot of pain to Melina. Melina, being very flexible, seemed to take a lot of pretzel like positions at the hands of Layla. Layla looked like she was improving nicely, but it was evident that she wasn’t quite ready for the big time, showcasing uneasy moments and second guessing her moves. Melina was definitely a better wrestler in this match, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot as Melina’s screams and random offense did not make any sense and was done with a slow movement that really took me out of the match up. There was also several botched moves, and misses that were just too obvious to ignore. While Melina is getting better, she just isn’t ready to carry a newcomer like Layla in this match and it showed as the match went on longer. Melina screaming was annoying as hell too, and after the match was over, I was so glad to finally get past the mandatory divas match up. I hate the wwe divas, they can’t wrestle, they are just stupid to me. I’d rather watch the Knockouts, at least they actually have good timing at times.

The Big Show defeated JTG

The Big Show dominated this match up against JTG to the point that this match wasn’t too great. I mean, The Big Show doesn’t have to job out to JTG, but it wasn’t that entertaining to me. Meanwhile the wife was yelling at me because of the bathroom being dirty, so maybe it was her nagging that made me not like this match.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy seemed to be getting punished in this match. Word on the street is that Hardy isn’t going to finish out the year with WWE and hasn’t renewed his contract, so is this punishment? I had to wonder as Hardy had to fight both members of the Hart Dynasty in this match up, and was getting worked over through out this match up. It was actually kind of a let down overall with Hardy getting beat up at every moment, and even DH Smith looked good, with Hardy slowing down to half speed and letting DH catch up, when he would normally look slow and uneasy. For once, DH Smith was looking like a shade of his father, but only because Hardy played up his injury. Tyson Kidd was not on top of his game, making rookie mistakes that would make Bret Hart shake his head in disbelief. Tyson Kidd eventually got his bearings and with a little help of DH Smith pinned the champion clean, and this thing was over.

Post match CM Punk came down to the ring to pick the bones of Jeff Hardy. He was fighting Hardy, pummeling him with elbows until John Morrison ran down for the safe, hitting everyone that was moving in the ring, and causing the fans to react positively to the rising star. Cm Punk turned this around with the equalizer; a steel chair. He then wrapped Hardy’s neck into a chair, and was ready to break Hardy’s neck, but out ran down Matt Hardy and was fighting like crazy against PUNK! This got great cheers, and Morrison and Matt Hardy, one time enemies, were cleaning up the mess and the crowd was loving it. I wasn’t so sure just yet, but it was cool to see that he helped out.

The night ended with the Hardy Boys reuniting in the ring.

The camera’s went backstage and there was Vince McMahon.

Cm Punk and The Hart Dynasty will face The Hardy’s and John Morrison next week. Vince McMahon than just left and it looked like Teddy Long might be losing his job sooner than later.

Chrsty Hemme defeated Sojourner Bolt
Hernandez defeated Doug Williams
Erik Young & Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Jesse Neil & Rhino
ODB & Tara defeated Awesome Kong & Angelina Love
Scott Steiner defeated Brother Ray in a no dq match
Matt Morgan defeated Aj Styles

TNA Impact 8/13/09 Review

We opened up with a match right away, which could spell disaster, since it was a knockouts match.

Chrsty Hemme defeated Sojourner Bolt

This match was awkward, Hemme was making her return to the ring after a long absence, and she showed some Ring Rust during this match up. Bolt was definitely in control overall, and she was wild in ring, looking sloppy in regards to her execution of her moves. The worst though, was a botched back body drop that had Bolt land on her neck! It looked horrible, and it was obvious that she was loopy afterwards. Christ Hemme won with a Fire Crotch Guillotine for the three count. This was one of the sloppiest women’s match I’ve ever seen.

Hernandez defeated Doug Williams

Hernandez one again was trying to prove that he was a solid single’s wrester, much like many other former tag team specialists. He was in full control early on, hitting some major high spots, and heavy hitting moves. The best of course was his delayed vertical suplex, which had Williams down and out. Williams came back for a few moments, but it wasn’t long, as Super Mex hit the sit out Powerbomb and won the match.

Post match the British Invasion attacked, and Hernandez was in control until Big Rob hit him in the face with a steel brief case.

Erik Young & Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Jesse Neil & Rhino

TNA is notorious for making matches that make no sense, and are in no way indicative of a further plot point or storyline. That’s ok, if the matches are great, as WWF did in the old days. These mash up tag matches with guys that aren’t on tv often, is NOT something that I’m a fan of. When’s the last time we saw Jesse Neil and Rhino? Seriously, we haven’t seen these two in so long, that at this point I don’t care about them, and they perform like jobbers. With that said, Erik Young and Bashir were putting the boots to Neil and were in full control for the majority of the match. In fact, Rhino was never tagged into this match, and lost the match for his team. Neil is NOT advancing, much like Maven in WWE. This match sucked. I guess Rhino and Neil might split sooner than later. Especially since Rhino gored Neil.
ODB & Tara defeated Awesome Kong & Angelina Love

This match wasn’t that ood opening up, but then the heat got turned on. ODB and Tara went to the top rope, and this spelled disaster. ODB jumped off and was caught by Awesome Kong and others. Tara leaped of thee to top and The Beautiful People didn’t catch her as she landed, and I kid you not, Head first into the concrete floor! Tara was clutching her head as we went to commercial break, and it looked terrible. I’m not sure if she’s going to be ok or not, but she really took a hit to the floor, face first off the top rope! Cody Deaner at one point was ready to punch Awesome Kong, but instead he kissed Awesome Kong! Kong then brought him into the ring and received The Awesome Bomb! Immediately afterwards, Tara rolled up Awesome Kong and won this match for her team. This match was boring, but Tara’s fall was great.

Scott Steiner defeated Brother Ray in a no dq match

These two put on an ok match up. Steiner is still carrying too much weight, and it showed as the match went on. He opened up fast, trying really hard to bump, but as ray put on some heavier offense, he started to slow down and it was obvious he was being out wrestled by what seems like a “fatter” man. Booker T and Brother Devon got involved, then the British Invasion ran down to distract Team 3D and that’s when Steiner threw Brother Ray through a table and pinned him for the win. This match was terrible, but not the worst I’ve seen ever.

Mick Foley and Kevin Nash had a contract signing, and I was waiting for this thin to turn south, it never happened. Foley and Nash had the most boring contract signing ever, with neither man fighting the other or breaking the table. The whole purpose of this signing was to waste my time. Thanks TNA, for ruining things for me, You guys are really a joke at this point.

Matt Morgan defeated Aj Styles

I’ve already seen this match twice, and each time it wasn’t half bad. This one though? This match just seemed forced at times, with Aj purposely giving a half step to Matt Morgan. Was he saving energy? I’m not sure, but Aj Styles spent most of this match getting worked over by Matt Morgan, and Morgan for once looked completely dominant. No longer is he the stuttering giant from WWE, he was pummeling Styles with heavy moves, including a picture perfect fallaway slam, which brought forth shades of Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon! Morgan made a mistake, and Styles capitalized. Morgan even tried to go to the top rope, but was fought tooth and nail by Styles. Morgan got hit with a huge Pele, and fell off the middle rope, which was actually a cool move, but Styles could not win. After a springboard went awry, Styles got nailed in the face with the Carbon Footprint and pinned Styles! Morgan will go on to face Angle and Sting in the title match.

Post match, The Main Event Mafia came down to celebrate.

Ecw on ScyFy 8/11/09 Review

Shelton Benjamin defeated Zack Ryder

I liked how this feuded started. No, not the singing, but the fact that Ryder attacked Benjamin during his rendition of the classic Hootie and The Blowfish song; that beginning led way into this starting match. The two were fighting tooth and nail, and I loved where they started in this match up, with both guys hitting hard, fast, and pacing a lot better than the average big man match, consisting of running the ropes, instead of going to a headlock from the start. Zack Ryder did slow things down a little, it was Shelton that made the crowd go wild with nicely timed reversals and good overall power, with the crowd firmly behind The Gold Standard. A frustrated Ryder made way to another Shelton Benjamin victory.

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Jobber

Another jobber loses to Kozlov. I’m tired of seeing Kozlov beat up jobbers.

Post match Ezekiel Jackson came down beat up a jobber too. These two wrestlers have been on a collision course, and they have yet to wrestle each other, I’m sure they will someday, just not this time

Yoshi Tatsu defeated Paul Burchill via disqualification

Paul Burchill as really putting Yoshi through ringer in this match up. Paul was really fighting hard, and was seriously hitting harder than I’ve seen him wrestle in recent times. Katie Lea interfered and this forced a disqualification, so maybe Paul’s intensity was due in large part to the length of the match up.

Post match The Hurricane, in full Super Hero costume saved Yoshi from a beating! I kid you not, The Hurricane is back in Green!

Tyler Reks defeated Tom James (jobber)

Don’t blink during this match, you might miss it. Another jobber match with the new guy Tyler Reks getting the win. Tyler Reks is impressive, but he needs more opponents to get over with the fans, and myself. He’s ok, but not exactly quite there yet.
Christian was on the Abraham Washington show, and it was ok, I guess?

William Regal defeated Tommy Dreamer

First Regal was named the #1 contender, then he gets a match with Dreamer. Regal is a legit contender, and word on the street is that Tommy Dreamer is injured. Regal worked on Tommy Dreamer’s injured left arm, and was slowly fighting him, and this match was not much else. Dreamer made a small comeback, but it was Regal that was like a rabid dog against Dreamer during this match up. Regal eventually knocked out Dreamer with a knee to the face and we said goodnight to Dreamer…he’s on his way out in my view.

Gail Kim defeated Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Alicia Fox
Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne
Canadian Kid defeated Eugene
The Big Show defeated Randy Orton via countout
MVP The Masterpiece defeated Chris Masters
Legacy defeated Mark Henry and Hornswoggle
John Cena vs Chris Jericho No Contest

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/10/09 Review

The show is in Calgary, Bret Hart country! The crowd usually cheers the heels, but not tonight, they were all Cena. Orton started the show ranting and raving, until John Cena showed up and started yelling at Orton, telling him he sucks etc. Things were about to jump off…then out came the Tag Champs.

The crowd blew up for Jericho, easily the biggest pop heard on television, easily.

Gail Kim defeated Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Alicia Fox

The divas had a four way match and overall it wasn’t half bad. The match had some heavy moves, specifically from Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim. In fact, those were the only two wrestlers that actually can turn on the wrestling juice, so to speak. I admit, I’m not fan, but Kim and Phoenix did put on some good points and made this match, albeit short, passable. I liked it, but only because it didn’t suck as bad as last week’s diva match.

Sergeant Slaughter came out to make fun of Canadians, and heel it up, I guess. I didn’t care, I was too busy writing a comment on newser about how Obama isn’t Hitler…yeah, I’m tired, I don’t mind the Joker Socialism thing, that’s clever, but for a major news source to post an article about him being Hitler? Come on! I didn’t vote for him, but whatever.

Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne

We get a rematch, I don’t know why, Swagger already squashed at one point and yes Bourne has beaten Swagger, but I for one didn’t want to really watch this. Evan Bourne had a few moments, he was flying high trying to get things done, but it was Swagger who was on point tonight, with some major pain for Evan Bourne including dropping him with his finisher. Swagger once again proves that he can be the next big thing, if he can overcome that lisp, that’s all I’m saying.

Triple H was in Texas trying to find Shawn Michaels. He found Shawn Michaels flipping burgers at a diner. Yep.

Canadian Kid defeated Eugene

Eugene came out and defeated some random jobber in a Canadian mask, it was terrible; the match was a contract on a pole match, sadly. Eugene managed to put up a good fight, but he didn’t grab the contract, it was Calgary Kid that got the contract from the pole!

Calgary Kid then pulled his mask off to reveal that it was none other than THE MIZ!

The Miz is back in another WWE Loophole, whatever.

The Big Show defeated Randy Orton via countout

The Big Show and Randy Orton put on a match, mainly Big Show was pummeling Randy Orton, with Orton cowering on the bottom rope trying to make it through this match without having to fight Big Show one on one. It was Big Show that was looking like the champion in this one, confident and easily winning this match. At one point Orton was trying to get counted out, and I thought for sure he’d run back to the ring, but nope, he let himself get counted out and The Big Show wins…Orton runs away like a chump.

MVP The Masterpiece defeated Chris Masters

This match wasn’t that great, but it did allow Chris Masters to show that he’s back on his game. However, I did notice he’s still slow, painfully slow at times, and relying heavily on a rest holds. MVP was just trying to hold onto this match, without getting too worn out, and managed a nice overhead suplex with release, and bounced his way through to a comeback from the devastating rest holds of Masters. MVP hit the Playmaker and this thing was all over. Masters is done, in my book, he sucks and is slow; MVP hitting the Playmaker was the best thing to happen in this match.

Post match Chris Masters hit the Masterlock while Swagger yelled at MVP.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels have a great skit mid way through with Triple H joining Shawn flipping burgers. Then amidst getting yelled at by his Boss at work, Shawn superkicks his boss! YES! Then he superkicks a little girl! I wish I could do that at my job…I hate my job…I thought this site would pay some bills…it hasn’t…I’m broke…man I wish I had a friend like Triple H to get scripted into my life and get me a lot of money…alas…it’s not to be.

Sgt Slaughter came out and then came on the Bret Hart music, the arena went nuts, I went nuts, I read earlier that Hart might be in Calgary tonight, and NOPE it was Duggan that came out. I got swerved…lame.

Legacy defeated Mark Henry and Hornswoggle

Legacy had a hard time with Mark Henry, as the big man was in full control of this match up. However, the little guy kept wanting into the match, but he missed the splash and Dibiase hit his DreamStreet finisher on Hornswoggle, winning the match. It was sad.

Next week’s GM is going to be Freddie Prinze Jr…..yep.

John Cena vs Chris Jericho No Contest

Chris Jericho was supposed to be the fan favorite here, and for the most part he was. This match was all Jericho, hitting most of his moves, getting out of the way in time, and making quick and easy work of John Cena’s comebacks. I wish all wrestlers had the timing of Jericho, it would make for a far better wrestling experience, but just like Highlander, there can only be one! Jericho had the Walls of Jericho in, but Cena reversed it, and that’s when Orton ran down and to distract Jericho, the bell range signaling the match is over, and Jericho hit the Codebreaker. Too little too late, and Jericho attacked Orton, only to get thrown out of the ring!

Big Show ran down and landed a Chokeslam on Orton!

Big show & Chris Jericho vs John Cena & Randy Orton will be next week’s featured match.

The end of the night was met with mixed emotions by me, Orton hit the RKO at the exact same time John Cena was hitting the Attitude Adjustment! Shades of the Diamond Cutter + Fireman’s Carry from Bam Bam Bigelow and DDP from their WCW title run was heard around the room!

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/7/09 Results and Review Punk is Bad

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/7/09 Results

CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy no contest
John Morrison defeated Tyson Kidd
Slam Master J defeated Charlie Haas
Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay, R Truth, and Mike Knox
JTG defeated Chris Jericho
The Great Khali defeated Ricky Ortiz
Jeff Hardy defeted CM Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/7/09 Review

CM Punk was out to ring side and giving a heel promo, guised as a face promo? He was talking about how the fans need him, and that he is better than Hardy because he doesn’t drink, smoke, or do drugs.

CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy no contest

This match never got off the ground, the two were fighting so hard that it prompted security to come out and separate them. This was so out of control that it prompted Vince McMahon to come out and talk about how Teddy Long is on probation, and introduced a new guest enforcer for the title match between Hardy and Punk.

The guest enforcer is, to be announced.

Hardy then lunged at Punk, and Punk escaped to ringside. This match for all intents and purposes was a no contest, for now.

John Morrison defeated Tyson Kidd

I admit, Morrison is good, but I’m not a fan. Kidd is ok, but I’m not a fan either. Maybe the two could wake me up from my pizza coma, as I had pizza for dinner. Early on the match was somewhat slow, to start, however once the battle went to the floor Kidd got the leg up, and was overpowering Morrison with the numbers game. Morisson, after the break, was all over Kidd with heavy weight moves. Including a signature Standing Moonsault, creating a near fall that jolted him. Kidd was trying to keep up, but was actually out wrestled by a heavier, more agile Morrison. Morrison did get into a cross submission maneuver, and looked decent, but it just seemed a little sloppy in comparison to Morrison. Morrison hit Starship Pain on Kidd’s FACE! No doubt hurting the lad, and this match was over. Kidd got hit hard, I’m surprised that Kidd wasn’t legit knocked out, as Morrison looked a little bit callous and reckless with that final move for the win.

Slam Master J defeated Charlie Haas

Jam Master J picked up his first win on Smackdown as a solo wrestler. Haas did ok, but this was another job well done for good ol’ Charlie Haas who just basically laid down for Master J to win. This was another one of Charlie Haas’s losses, face it, he’s on his way out.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay, R Truth, and Mike Knox

This match featured four IC title contenders, in a free for all type match. Each one was hitting hard and no one was getting the clear advantage early on. Mike Knox looked like he was going to win this one, but after a few near falls, it was a cluster of humanity in the ring. Each member getting shots on the other, eventually it was Dolph Ziggler getting over with a pinfall. Ziggler wasn’t a major factor in this match, and in fact the only one that seemed to get a big reaction was R Truth, but it was to no avail, Ziggler will once again try to steal the show with Rey for the Intercontinental title at summerslam.

JTG defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho can make anyone look good and he proved it in this match. JTG is not a top worker, yet he strung together an alright match with none other than Jericho, who is simply on top of his game right now. The two exchanged some quick pinfalls, and near misses, with Jericho putting over JTG in the end. JTG hit a nice top rope leg drop, and when Jericho thought he had won this one after a codebreaker, JTG managed to roll up Jericho while he was arguing with the ref, getting the quick pinfall! JTG defeated Jericho, and this match wasn’t half bad.

The Great Khali defeated Ricky Ortiz

Ricky Ortiz might be on his way out too, because he just lost in like 5 minutes. Khali hit the plunge and then pinned Ortiz with ease. A total squash; maybe Ortiz is next to get thrown out aka fired.

Jeff hardy defeated CM Punk w/ special guest enforcer Matt hardy

Matt Hardy is back and he has his cast off. He looks to have gained a little weight too, and he’s going to be the enforcer!

Jeff Hardy started this match like the champ, fast and easily putting Punk at bay, holding onto the overall aptitude of the match up. Punk turned things around after the commercial break and looked like he was going to get the upper hand in this match up, but wasn’t able to counter some of Hardy’s offense, which sometimes came out of nowhere with no way to telegraph things. Punk hit a picture perfect top rope superplex and was ready to hit the GTS, looking like the title was in his reach, but instead decided to punish hardy a little before hand, allowing Hardy to reverse it, only to get into a nearfall yet again. Punk jumped to the outside where Matt and Jeff had to face each other, but nothing happened…until Punk baseball slid Matt to the floor! Hardy capitalized on the distraction and hit the Twist of Fate then went for the Swanton Bomb, but Punk got his knees up! Matt pulled the referee while Punk was at a 2 count! Hardy then hit a nice roll up, and Matt counted really fast, allowing Hardy to win the match, and punk was left mad at Matt! Punk then chased Matt…this thing has some interesting turning points, it’ll be interesting to see where this all goes in the near future.

Smackdown wasn’t all that great. However, after last night’s terrible night of wrestling, this was much appreciated.

Post match, Punk once again pummeled Jeff Hardy, hitting him with a chair and making short work of Hardy, too bad it was after the match was over!

TNA Impact 8/6/09 Results and Review More Junk From TNA

Tna Impact 8/6/09 Results

Erik Young defeated Christopher Daniels
The British Invasion, Scott Steiner & Booker T defeated Beer Money & Team 3D
Sarita & Taylor Wilde defeated Alissa Flash & Traci Brooks
Matt Morgan defeated Aj Styles
Sting defeated Brutus Magnus

Tna Impact 8/6/09 Review

TNA opened up with a flashback of Erik Young and Kurt Angle arriving at the arena.

The show officially opened and of course it was Kurt Angle and the main event mafia in ring babbling about random crap. It wasn’t exactly the most thrilling of things, and to be honest, it was quite boring to me. Kurt Angle comes out and whines every single week and this wasn’t any different. Kurt Angle announces that he’s struck a deal with the British Invasion.

This is the WORST thing that could happen. The Main Event Mafia is now N.W.O 2009! That’s right, the N.W.O and the Main Event Mafia is exactly the same now. Too many members, so boring, and all older guys that should be letting the young guys in; I wanted to just quit watching TNA at this point, I am so sick of this N.W.O cloning, and I’m sure others are also tired…TNA is really blowing it, worse than WCW ever did.

Erik Young defeated Christopher Daniels

Christopher Daniels started this match fast, and Erik Young needed help from the outside in order to slow things down, however it was to no avail as Daniels leaped through the ropes and hit Young on the outside. However, the distraction caused Daniels to lose his focus and never really recovered. Sheik Abdul Bashir and Kiyoshi kept running into the match, distracting the ref, and really not helping Daniels stay on top of his game. Erik Young eventually picked up the victory after a nice looking piledriver. This match was ok at best, kind of standard, Daniels jobbing hurts, cause he has so much talent. I remember his feud with Samoa Joe for the x-division title, 4 star matches, but now? He’s jobbing, and that’s sad.

The British Invasion, Scott Steiner & Booker T defeated Beer Money & Team 3D

I swear one of the guys on the British Invasion is juicing hardcore. Other than that observation, I didn’t see this match as that great. Team 3D were starting this match with back and forth tags, good overall offense, and really putting forth effort in an otherwise overly crowded match up. The match eventually had a slight turn for the British guys, but it was short lived as Team 3D was controlling every aspect of this match up. That is until Erik Young, Bashir, and Kiyoshi came down. That prompted the Machine Guns and Daniels to run down to ringside, and this match was a complete cluster. Kevin Nash came down, and this was worse than WCW 2000, seriously this is a load of crap. Foley came out, and now there were bout 10 or 12 wrestlers down at ringside fighting and brawling, the match was apparently not thrown out at this point This seriously mirrored Nitro, and I really wanted to stop watching this, this is such a stupid show. TNA SUCKS! I HATED THIS! The match continued and Big Rob (the most juiced wrestler I’ve seen in a long time) pinned Robert Rude and that was that. This match sucked, I hated the way this turned out. This was seriously one of the lowest points in TNA history for me.

The show continued to focus on backstage brawls, antics and random crap that we saw in the failing days of N.W.O in WCW. It’s a shame that TNA is writing such terrible wrestling shows, because they had some potential in the past weeks. The whole roster was fighting each other, that’s it.

Sarita & Taylor Wilde defeated Alissa Flash & Traci Brooks

Alissa Flash once again shined in this match, despite Sarita’s offensive control early on. Flash is a well tuned wrestler, but more impressive was Sarita with a dazzling display of Lucha Libre style dives and top rope offense. Flash of course contrasted the style with hard mat wrestling against Taylor Wilde, showing off her skill set and strong style, which isn’t seen often in women’s wrestling. The weak link here was Traci Brooks, her large breasts were getting in the way of her wrestling, and she was obviously two steps slower than the other competitors in this match; she was moving half speed compared to the other three women in this match up. She also missed a lot of moves, and was botching things left and right. Sarita was the one that got the better of the women with a roll up and a nice array of Lucha Libre moves. I think Flash and Sarita are great wrestlers and not just divas. Traci Brooks, though, is a terrible wrestler.

There was an interview with Hernandez and Mike Tenay. It was kind of boring.

Matt Morgan defeated Aj Styles

Aj Styles beat Morgan last time, so I naturally knew that Matt Morgan would get his payback for this best of three series. Styles had a lot of speed in this match and while Morgan is a fast big man, he’s not faster than Styles and it painfully showed during this match up. Morgan used hiss strength to ground Sttyles though, and it was obvious that Morgan wasn’t going to just let Styles run circles around him. Morgan was ready for Styles every move and eventually hit the Hellevator and won with an impressive set of offensive. This was really good, considering the match was a little short. I guess seeing such a bad opening and first hour made this match seem better than it really was. Morgan is getting better, but I don’t think he can do it without being carried by a veteran like AJ Styles.

Sting defeated Brutus Magnus

Well, I was ready for bed, but apparently TNA wanted to throw one more match at us. I had to sit through yet another Sting match, and I'm not sure I was ready for it. The British Invasion was thrown out of ringside, so it was Sting solo with Brutus Magnus. Sting started this match with a clinic of old school wrestling. After many arm drags, hip tosses, and throws, Mangnus was thrown out of the ring to regroup and it was Sting that looked like the young buck rather than the veteran that he is. After a slight regrouping, Magnus was focusing on the legs of Sting and was really taking a page out of Bret Hart's book, with sole focus on the leg of Sting, setting up for a submission ending later, for sure. We cut to commercial and it was just a reversal as Sting cleaned up, put Magnus into the Scorpion Death Lock and made Brutus Magnus tap out with ease.

Post match The World Elite came down and tried to fight Sting, but Sting seemed to have most of this in control, until all 9 people attacked Sting. Once again, this was a reminder of NITRO with a TON of guys on one guy....sigh....Tna ruined this show. Lashley & Mick Foley ran down and fought off all comers, Lashley is now Goldberg 2009...TNA sucks, i'm sorry I'm going to bed...this was a terrible night of wrestling.

Oh and if you think I'm overly critical, get yourself the ending of this night of wrestling. 20+ guys in the ring beating up 3 guys. This was NWO all over again, it was so lame. Seriously, what a load of crap.

ECW on ScyFy 8/4/09 Results and Review Extreme Rules For A Change

ECW on ScyFy 8/4/09 Results

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Another Jobber
Shamus defeated Goldust
Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules Match

ECW on ScyFy 8/5/09 Review

The Abraham Washington show started the show, and with all the jokes hitting a deadpan snore, out came Zack Ryder. Ryder made fun of Shelton Benjamin, and eventually he came out. Benjamin, Ryder, and Washington were now on the stage on the mic. The two ended up doing a singing contest? Such a lame opening, I’m tired. Then, amidst a rendition of “Only Want to be With You” by Shelton Benjamin, Zack Ryder attacked from behind, and then Shelton rushed him, throwing him through the couch, and I was finally marking out! Yes! There should be more fights, like this stuff.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Another Jobber

This wasn’t a match. Ezekiel Jackson just mopped up a jobber, with incredible ease.

Post match Kozlov came down, stared down Ezekiel than dropped the jobber for good measure.

Shamus defeated Goldust

Goldust has been getting a lot more screen time on ecw and it’s interesting to say the least. He’s been looking in shape, and nearly in his prime. This math, however, had Shamus looking good including picking up a victory seemingly out of nowhere! Goldust was dominant early on, but Shamus ended up getting the upper hand, winning the match.

Post match, Goldust attacked Shamus.

Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules Match

This match was a throwback to the old ECW days, in which the style of the match spilled onto the floor with the use of plunder being top priority. The two exchanged hitting each other with anything that wasn’t bolted down to the floor, and this favored Tommy Dreamer as he was the one that was getting the upper hand, and for once didn’t look winded right away. After a commercial break the tables had turned and Christian was looking dominant for once, and he was just punishing Dreamer with a kendo stick, a trash can lid, and anything else at ringside. This match took an interesting route towards the end, with Tommy Dreamer reversing some of the major offense that Christian usually gives. At this point this was easily the longest match on ECW in a long time. Christian ran at Tommy Dreamer with a car door, only to get knocked nearly out on a reversal. Tommy Dreamer then got hit with The Killswitch on a car door to lose to Christian! A car door folks…this match was extreme, and Christian retains the title!

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/3/09 Results and Review Jeremy Piven Hosts

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/3/09 Results

Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne
Mickie James & Gail Kim defeated Beth Phoenix & Jillian
Legacy defeated Triple H
Carlito defeated Primo
Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero
Kofi Kingston defeated The Big Show by Disqualification
John Cena defeated The Miz in a lumberjack match

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/3/09 Review

The show started off with Jeremy Piven being called to the ring. He brought in the Asian guy from The Hangover, and that was about it. The two were just on the mic, trying to get the crowd into the night. The Miz came out and tried to get into Piven’s face, and he just worked the crowd against Miz. The Miz called out John Cena, Cena came down, the Asian dude (The Doctor) was going nuts, the crowd was going nuts, and they just kept pimping out the crap of “The Goods”. Piven sets up John Cena vs The Miz in a lumber jack match. The match got more stipulations, including a loser leaves Raw clause. Well, just The Miz.

Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne

Evan Bourne took on Jack Swagger in this match, and there was a distinct size advantage for Jack Swagger. This was a complete thrashing of Evan Bourne, he took control of the match early, didn’t let up and pummeled Evan Bourne, delivered his Gut Wrench powerbomb and defeated Evan Bourne with ease. MVP came out for the save, but it was too late.

Mickie James & Gail Kim defeated Beth Phoenix & Jillian

Here you have your standard WWE Divas match, with one exception, Beth Phoenix is gaining a little weight. The majority of the Match Beth Phoenix was working like she would be fired if she didn’t look dominant, and she really put the boots to her opponents. She’s got game, and she showed it off by pinning Gail Kim, and yet again I wonder why Gail Kim even came back to the WWE, all she’s been doing is getting worked and pinned by all the divas. The Beth Bomb was nice, Kim hasn’t done anything good in WWE since arriving, sadly.

Legacy defeated Triple H

There’s no way Triple H should win this match. It’s a handicap match from an experienced tag team. I hate when the good guy can trump tag teams in handicap matches, it makes the team look so much weaker. So what happened here? I’m not surprised, Triple H took a beating for a short while, but then came back like he was Thor, and we see why everyone hates Triple H right now. The young guys looked like they were on a road to losing again to Triple H, even after Ted Dibiase hit Dreamstreet. Cody was waiting for Triple H to get up, and hit Crossroads, and with a major surprise to me, WON! That’s right, Triple H loses! FINALLY! I have to eat my words, Triple H DID NOT beat Legacy, haha, FINALLY! Legacy defeats Triple H, I kid you not!

Post match, Triple H started crying about how he used to be good at gang war fare. He said he was going to start up a new faction. He even made fun of Ric Flair and Batista, which were cheap shots.

Carlito defeated Primo

The WWE loves to split up tag teams, they also love putting relatives, or former partners in matches against each other. So once again, we get to see a former tag team that split, face each other out of “jealousy”. I get so tired of this cycle of tag teams in the WWE, and there’s nothing we can do about it. This match, by all means, was ok, with Primo just as fast as Carlito, and the two exchanging moves, with Carlito looking to be ahead in the early goings of the match up. He would eventually get the upper hand completely, hitting the Back Stabber and pinning Primo, winning this match up, and hopefully ending this feud of sorts.

Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero

Once again, the WWE squashes Chavo Guerero. Forget his legacy, he sucks, at least that’s what the WWE must think. Mark Henry basically obliterated Chavo, and afterwards Hornswoggle came in and landed a top rope splash.

Even weirder, Mark Henry and Hornswoggle danced in ring, and the crowd was cheering. I am not sure why Chavo doesn’t just quit, he’s not even relevant anymore. Mark Henry, on the other hand, is getting a full face push. I don’t hate the guy, but eh, whatever, Henry is what he is, the World’s Strongest Man.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Big Show by Disqualification

Kofi had some good offense early on, bullying Kofi Kingston. He was hitting hard, but it wasn’t going to happen as Big Show turned things around and wouldn’t stop hitting Kofi. This led to the disqualification, and another throwaway match up. There wasn’t much more to this match up.

Backstage Triple H was trying to call, what I assume was Shawn Michaels, but it wasn’t happening. It was so weird.

John Cena defeated The Miz in a lumber jack match

This match was basically, John Cena and The Miz, with every heel on the outside. Including Piven, serving as a Lumberjack. The Miz was hitting every move he had in his arsenal, and was definitely looking like he was poised to take this match, so that he wouldn’t lose his spot on Raw. Cena eventually got thrown to the outside and was just getting pummeled by the lumberjacks, none of which were any of his allies. He ws just being taken advantage of, and as the match continued it was John Cena that got the pin, and The Miz is gone!

Post match, things got really exciting, Jeremy Piven climbed the top rope and went for a Cross Body Block on John Cena! Cena caught him, and was used as a battering ram, Dr Ken then hit Cena with his cane, and it was hilarious. Cena then threw Doctor Ken onto a bunch of guys, and it was all over.

Not a great show, not the worst show I've seen.

Next week, SGT. Slaughter is going to be the guest Host!

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Results and Review The Hardy Era Begins

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Results

Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Legacy
Eve Torres and Melina defeated Michelle McCool and Layla
Rey Mysterio & Finlay defeated Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox
The Great Khali vs Charlie Haas no contest?
Jeff Hardy defeated John Morrison

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Review

Jeff Hardy opened the show, with the Belt and the crowd roaring. He just gave the traditional, I’m high on the belt speech. Lame.

Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Legacy

I still say that DH Smith is somewhat slow. Tyson Kidd is the speed of the team, and it showed, as he really took it to Shad in this match. In fact, JR even gave Kidd the nickname “Pitbull” that is usually reserved for Jamie Noble. It might not stick, but it was obvious that in his match, he was in top form against the former champions. JTG got tagged in, and it was actually getting good. Cryme Tyme looked like they were getting a second big push here in the WWE! After several near falls, Cryme Tyme got a #1 contender spot against the Champions at Summerslam. This match was fast paced, and not half bad.

Eve Torres and Melina defeated Michelle McCool and Layla

This math was hilarious. Your standard divas match, with the best wrestler nearly killing someone because they aren’t ready. Melina’s flippity floppy was interesting and took a lot of practice, I’m sure. That move was dang impressive. It was like a hurricanrana type flip into a pinning predicament? I don’t know, it was a weird move. I thought McCool’s team would win this one. But nope, upon the replay, it was simply a sunset flip over from a Widow’s peak position, not as impressive. This match wasn’t that great.

Rey Mysterio & Finlay defeated Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox

This match was given some good time, considering the people involved. Knox and Ziggler worked really well as a team, and remained impressive in this match. Finlay took some major damage in the second part of this match, meanwhile Rey Mysterio was patiently waiting a tag. The heels were in perfect form, during the course of this match, playing up everything to the fullest, creating a good overall match up, despite Knox and Finlay not being main eventers or even upper mid card these days. Mysterio got the hot tag and was thwarted by a waiting Dolph Ziggler, but eventually was tagged in the face with a big kick. Mysterio had this thing won, but Knox thwarted the pinfall, and it was Ziggler and Finlay in ring towards the end, but they weren’t both legal men in ring, Mysterio hit a nice roll up and pinned Ziggler! A nice turn about match with good spots, and overall great style, despite two low carders and two high mid carders; I liked this match.

The Great Khali vs Charlie Haas no contest?

Charlie Haas has to be on his way out too, he hasn’t won a match in a long time. This match went nowhere, Kane interfered, Khali left the ring, no announcement was made, and we went to commercial break.

Jeff Hardy defeated John Morrison

This match was free, that was odd to me. These two could really go, and they did. For about thirty minutes they were exchanging rough hits, high spots, and great points to prove that they are worth their weight in the main event. The crowd was roaring, and each man was definitely getting great reversals during this match up. When one man would go for a signature move, the other would duck, roll, or just get out of the way, this is the smartest wrestling I’ve seen since Dolph Ziggler and Rey Mysterio at the ppv. Morrison had this match sewn up several times, it looked like he was going to win this thing with so many moves. From the kicks, to the reverse springboard kick off the middle rope, he seemed poised to take the belt so early. Hardy kept going to the top rope, missing several times, but late in the match he hit the Swanton Bomb, with the crowd roaring he went for the pin and it was to no avail! Morrison managed to kick out, and this match had the crowd reeling. When Morrison went for The Starship Pain, Hardy put his knees up, derailing Morrison’s hopes and eventually got the pin with the Twist of Fate setting up the massive three count. Great match, and for free? Yep.

Post Match C.M. Punk came out to congratulate Hardy. He raised his hand, and then got on the mic. He started talking then hit him with the MIC in the head, then threw him out of the ring and went on a full blown attack! Yes this is rad, finally a heel that doesn’t give a damn! Punk just made a believer out of me, assaulting Hardy with reckless abandon! Seriously, this has been the best Heel fight I’ve seen in a long time. Punk simply beat the hell out of Hardy for no apparent reason other than he doesn’t like him and that’s the goal of wrestling to me. Create feuds out of hatred for each other, and not just because of someone stealing their wife or something lame like that. Hardy beat the hell out of Hardy, it was great, Punk reminded me of Steve Austin, no, Kevin Sullivan, no Chris Benoit from 1996…I don’t know, he was out there and just putting the boots to Hardy with no care for himself or his opponent. I loved this ending.
