WWE Smackdown Live March 27, 2018 Results and Review The B Show of All B Shows

Nakamura Flies - SRC wwe dot com
If ever there was a way to prove that Smackdown was the B show, it definitely proved itself to be the case here with this show. I couldn’t care about this show and I get paid to watch! Whatever the case may be, you’ll find that this show wasn’t grand, and yet it had a lot going on for such a short show. Let’s get into the action here.

WWE Smackdown Live March 27, 2018 Results and Review

Jinder Mahal and Rusev defeated Randy Orton and Bobby Roode

Since Roode and Orton beat down the only healthy Singh brother he couldn’t compete. So what he did instead was got Rusev to be his partner on this very special Rusev day! The two worked very well together, and while Roode and Orton couldn’t get along, Rusev took advantage with a solid Machka Kick and boom, Mahal and Rusev would get the pinfall victory here. A short tag match, but it would be good for Rusev, because he will now be in a fatal fourway for the United States championship.

Becky Lynch defeated Ruby Riott

Becky Lynch was wearing a very unflattering ring leotard, and Ruby Riott proved yet again why she is so good in the ring. She is fast, she knows her stuff, and is well timed against Lynch. Lynch would get a quick roll up victory but Riott held her own throughout, and really did a great job with Lynch throwing down some great moves here and there. After the match the Riott squad would get beat up a little and that was that.

Daniel Bryan Will be At Wrestlemania

There’s not much to say about this one.

The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

This wasn’t great at all, as it ended in chaos. The Bludgeon Brothers and the Usos clashed outside, and the New Day clashed, and it was a big melee. Nothing to see here.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Tyler Breeze

Dolph Ziggler buried Tyler Breeze in a short match, which was really just boring to me. I don’t know why they keep putting these terrible matches on. Breeze loses, Fandango gets caught up outside with a superkick, and that’s that.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Shelton Benjamin

AJ Styles was outside for this one and was protecting Nakamura in a lot of ways. He would help get Gable away from the ringside area, and let Nakamura get a fair shot against Benjamin. Shelton Benjamin is a great performer, and Nakamura is good in many ways, but this match wasn’t that great at all. It suffices to be an ok encounter with a predictable finish where Nakamura wins.

After the match Styles got into the ring and was getting beat down by Benjamin and Gable then Nakamura came in and cleared house but didn’t beat up Styles, though he could have, and that was that.

Smackdown overall was the B show in every way possible. It didn’t feel like Raw, and after the NJPW show I saw this past weekend, I don’t know if Smackdown is going to live up to the hype on its weekly showcase. It’s a bit short, and boring.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 26, 2018 Results and Review The Big Dumb Machine

Cena With An AA Into A Table - SRC wwe.com
After watching 4 hours plus of New Japan, I had high hopes for WWE. I was invigorated by the raw wrestling that was found on the New Japan Show, but here, wow, this was not the same at all. I was tired, and while the show wasn’t 4 hours, it felt like 9 hours long and it was definitely awful at times. Let’s discuss how good or bad the night aw.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 26, 2018 Results and Review

The show opened up with the tired old speech of Paul Heyman. I am tired of him. He was in the ring talking up Brock Lesnar, and talking smack about how Roman Reigns wasn’t there. Roman Reigns then showed up and tried to knock out Lesnar, but it was not to be. Lesnar beat the bricks out of Roman Reigns yet again and was in the middle standing tall. That’s it. Lesnar was tall with the dumb red belt, and that was the end.

Nia Jax defeated Mickie James

This was a quick match, not like most other girls’ matches! Nia Jax beats down Mickie James in a few moves, and then Alexa Bliss showed up to try and beat her up, but to no avail. This was a simple match with not a lot to it, and James just basically got beat down.

Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali defeated Drew Gulak and JTP

This was a fast match. It was so fast, that if you wen to the bathroom, you missed this match. This was a match that had a great deal of back and forth, and it was finished quickly with Mustafa Ali stealing a pin that was supposed to be made for Alexander. There wasn’t much to this match, and like I said, it was very short.

Asuka defeated Jamie Frost

Asuka knocked out a jobber.

Matt Hardy came on the screen and said he’d be in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Sasha Banks and Bayley Backstage

This was dumb. Sasha Banks and Bayley were in front of some lockers and they talked, only to have Sasha Banks turn on her, and the two brawled with referees coming to separate them. That’s the end of that friendship, right? I guess so.

Braun Strowman defeated Sheamus

Sheamus is supposed to be wrestling with spinal stenosis and yet here he is going toe to toe with Braun Strowman. This was a boring back and forth match, until Strowman ended up hulking up, so to speak and getting the big powerslam and that’s it. Good for him.

Absolution Confronted Ronda Rousey

This was dumb. Absolution showed up and tried to get in the ring, but Ronda nearly pulled out Mandy Rose’s arm, and that’s that.

The Club Sandwich Boys defeated The Miztourage

This was a boring match. It was so boring that I almost fell asleep. The Miztourage are nothing but jobbers, and looked like they weren’t on the same team here. The Club Sandwhich boys win big and that’s it.

Elias defeated Rhyno

Guess who won here? Rhyno loses, and Elias kicks his partner afterwards too. Elias sang a cool song at first, but man, he just rolled through the jobber, Rhyno at this point.

John Cena defeated Kane in a NO DQ Match

This was a slow moving match, but Kane was able to knock out Cena several times. The two were able to go back and forth in and out of the ring, and it was a nice street fight so to speak. There were a few table breaks, a guard rail suplex, and then an AA through a table for the end result. Kane loses here, and it was an entertaining match, that ended without an Undertaker appearance overall.

MIZ TV happened mid-show, and it was good. It had me thinking that the Miztourage were breaking up, but alas, that wasn’t meant to be at all. It’s something that is quite fascinating to look into, that’s for sure. Could that be something for the future? I don’t know. Miz had Finn Balor and Seth Rollins as guests, and that was that. Nothing to see here folks, lol.

Overall, Raw was a labor to watch compared to NJPW’s show from Sunday. It was fun to watch that show, this wasn’t fun to watch, it was labored and boring. I’m not ready for Wrestlemania, I’m ready to get past it, even though I will be at Money In The Bank and All In when it goes down in Chicago!

NJPW Strong Style Evolved March 25, 2018 Results and Review The Long Beach Spectacle

NJPW Strong Style Evolved March 25, 2018 Results and Review
Over the weekend, New Japan Pro Wrestling returned to the United States and were in Long Beach. I couldn’t make it because I live in Indiana now, but if I lived in Los Angeles still, you would better believe that I would be there watching and drinking with the rest of my friends in the Bullet Club. For those that know me, you know that I saw Matt and Nick Jackson in Culver City many times, as they were once called Slick Nick and Mr. Instant Replay. Anyways, I was able to check out all 4 hours and plus of the event that went down on March 25, 2018 in Long Beach, California. Here’s how it went down, and my two cents on the matches and more.

NJPW Strong Style Evolved March 25, 2018 Results and Review

The start of the show had Jim Ross and some random dude on commentary. I kid, he’s not random, but I don’t care. Let’s talk the show from Long Beach, California.

Roppongi 3K defeated SoCal Uncensored in a six man tag match

I thought for sure SoCal Uncensored would win here, considering they are in So Cal and they were riding high from their wins in ROH. R3K were way better here and it was interesting to see overall. Lots of high spots, fast paced wrestling, back and forth, and so much work from all sides of this one. I liked how it all worked out, and you got to see a great deal of focus on precision timing and more. Kazarian seemed to mess up his knee at one point, but it was a fast paced match with lots of action, and a great opener for only 11 minutes or so.

Taguchi Japan defeated Chaos in a tag team match

Another tag team match, and it wasn’t half bad. I was impressed with Juice Robinson and David Finlay’s toughness as the Japanese team were berating the bricks off of them in many ways. They were definitely getting a lot of offense in, despite the receipts getting cashed for some careless punches and kicks. The ending was nice, but the match was somewhat short overall.

Killer Elite Squad defeated Chaos in a tag team match

This was another team of Chaos guys and KES was fascinating to watch. Lance Archer and Davey Boy Smith Jr were in tune here, and the son of The British Bulldog really impressed me. He reminded me of his father here, more than when he was in the WWE that’s for sure. I was so impressed with how it was all turning out, and was just impressed with the focused energy of the Killer Elite Squad overall. Chaos was good, but their pairing wasn’t as fun as the Taguchi Japan match.

Bullet Club Cody and Marty Scurll defeated Guerillas of Destiny

Both of these teams have elements of Bullet Club and Cody tried to stop the match overall. But it wouldn’t stop. The match was fast paced, and definitely one of the best match for tonight. GOD are insane, and wow, they are like the The Usos only bigger and somewhat stronger overall. I was so impressed with the fight and the moves. The Usos and GOD could have an insane overall match if they were able to get forward progress.

Los Ingobernables de Japon and Hiromu Takahashi defeated Taguchi Japan in an eight man tag team match

Another match with Taguchi guys, and I won’t spell them all out. However, this was a good match overall, with a lot of different elements of high flying action, lots of kick outs, lots of reversals, and a lot of elements that were no doubt a great work overall. Los Ingobernables de Japon are impressive here, and they won big here. I liked it a lot, and it was fun to see overall.

Will Ospreay defeated Jyushin Thunger Liger

This was supposed to be a match with Rey Mysterio, but after an injury, NJPW changed things up. Ospreay is one of the best high flyers in the world, and in this match it was fun to see how things worked out well enough. It was fast paced, Liger had some nice moves, including a brain buster to the outside, but it was Ospreay that would get the win after around 10 minutes. It was fun to watch.

Suzuki-Gun (Suzuki and Zack Sabre Jr) defeated Chaos (Okada and Ishii) in a tag team match

Overall a fun match for under 20 minutes. This was a match that went forward to a lot of great back and forth action. It was fast paced throughout, and it featured some great high impact hits. I liked Zack Sabre Jr. and his constant reversals and submissions, he got the one up on Okada several times. Suzuki was great and Ishii were great hitting back and forth. It was fun.

Jay White defeated Hangman Page in the IWGP US Title Match

This was great. This was fun. However, it was slow. This was slow, but in the 25 minutes that it went, the two were able to throw everything but the kitchen sink at one another. It was fun to see the match go back and forth several times. White nearly broke Page’s chest with chops, and he wasn’t backing down. Lots of fighting to the floor, lots of back and forth, on the apron, reversals and more. This had room to breathe and it was White that got the big win. Nice fluid match, although a lot slower than everything else.

Golden Lovers defeated The Young Bucks

Nearly 40 minutes of match, and wow, everything you could expect from a wrestling match. There was high drama, there was a great story told, and the Young Bucks were all over the place. I was surprised by how good Omega and Ibushi worked together, and The Young Bucks were throwing themselves around the arena and it was fun to see go down. I enjoyed every aspect of this, and it was fun to see the shots that were taken out. To start Kenny Omega wasn’t that vicious with Matt Jackson due to his back injury, but over the match’s time frame, things picked up and they focused on it, then things went all out with table breaks, and double team moves, great back and forth, but then it was all over with double knees to the face to Matt Jackson and that’s that. Loved the 40 minute match, and it truly was a lot of action to see. Five stars all the way for me.

Post match, Cody Rhodes showed up and shoved Nick and yelled at Matt for losing. Then came Kenny Omega and fended him off, and tried to shake hands with the Young Bucks, but that wasn't going to go down.

In other elements, Rey Mysterio got jumped by Marty Scurll! That was fun. Mysterio apologized to the crowd for the injury but promised he’d be back.

Another thing that occurred was Jay White got beat up by Finlay and was challenged for the title next time.

Overall, New Japan Pro Wrestling lived up to the hype and though it was 4 hours and 20 minutes long, it never felt like it was boring or tired. I loved every second of it, and that main event, wow. Great stuff, and great overall night of wrestling. I can’t wait to see ALL IN in September, and I am definitely ALL IN!

WWE Smackdown Live March 20, 2018 Results and Review Daniel Bryan Returns To Ring

Daniel Bryan Catches Beef - Src WWE dot com
You knew this was going to happen, I knew it was going to happen, and it certainly occurred, Daniel Bryan returned to the ring, and it wasn’t without a lot of fanfare.

WWE Smackdown Live March 20, 2018 Results and Review

The show started with Daniel Bryan giving a great in-ring speech and saying that he was cleared for competition. Everyone shed a tear, and was in with Bryan here. I loved it.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Rusev

The artist beat Rusev. Despite the many Rusev Day chants, Nakamura was able to garner a great deal of success here with his moves, and fast paced style. He would eventually get a big win here and Rusev would go down. After the match he got double teamed and fended off both Rusev and Aiden English, and was left standing. He then got on a mic and said that he didn’t need Aj Styles to save him.

Baron Corbin defeated Tye Dillinger

The perfect 10 was buried, and it saddened me.

Natalya defeated Charlotte Flair

This wasn’t half bad, a good match with some great back and forth. As Natalya looked like she was going to win, Charlotte Flair was out and in came Natalya with her briefcase. However, she got knocked out before she could get the final go to cash in, and Natalya pins Flair thanks to the distraction. Not a bad women’s match nor ending, but I wonder when Carmella is going to get a shot at winning the belt with her briefcase, geez.

Harper defeated Jimmy Uso

This was a boring match for me, but it had Jimmy Uso fighting for his life against Harper. The two worked well together, but at the end of the day is was Harper that was able to get the big win here.

Jinder Mahal and Bobby Roode were arguing when Randy Orton showed up and then got into a scuffle.

This scuffle had one of the Signh Brothers getting beat down, and that’s about it. Mahal ran out of the ring after pushing Singh into Orton and Roode. They both beat down the little guy, and then nearly fought one another.

Becky Lynch and Naomi defeated Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan

This was an ok match, but I’m growing tired of seeing tag team matches with the same people very week. Becky Lynch got the submission after a short match, and that was all that happened here. Not terrible, but definitely not that great.

Daniel Bryan Fired Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Daniel Bryan called out Owens and Zayn and eventually fired both of them. They got mad, and tried to beat him up, but he fought back. Bryan fought hard, and it was awesome to see him fight back, but the numbers games were starting to rise and that wasn’t fun. Eventually Bryan got beat down and that was the end.

Not a terrible night of wrestling, and obviously going to get a lot of praise for seeing Bryan back in the ring. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either, so I’m somewhere in between.

Monday Night Raw March 19, 2018 Results and Review The Ultimate Deletion Showcase

The Ultimate Deletion - SRC Wwe dot com
Why is it that Monday Night Raw feels like it’s 10 hours long? Even the HULU version is long. This time, I did not make the mistake of watching this thing on Hulu, I was able to watch the whole thing, and well, there are some ups and downs that you should definitely consider when looking at Monday Night Raw from Monday, March 19.

Monday Night Raw March 19, 2018 Results and Review

Brock Lesnar Beat The Bricks off Roman Reigns

Kurt Angle came down to say that Roman shouldn’t be there, and that Lesnar hasn’t arrived. Roman ran his mouth and was then handcuffed by U.S. Marshals. They got handsy with old Roman and he fought them before Brock Lesnar showed up and then beat the bricks off of Roman Reigns, all while he was handcuffed. The fans chanted “You deserved it”, and it’s sad to see that the main event at Wrestlemania may get booed out of the building. I’m not a fan of either these guys right now. This was a cold beat down, and there was no way for Roman to defend himself. I’m shocked at the level of violence allowed here.

Asuka defeated Alexa Bliss via Count Out

Before the match, Alexa Bliss and a fine looking Mickie James were in the ring. She talked about how she had no remorse for talking negatively about Nia Jax. During her promo out came Asuka and she went one on one with Alexa Bliss. If you’re going to build an unstoppable winning machine, why is she taking so much offense from everyone? When they did this with Goldberg, he wasn’t getting slim wins, but that’s how Asuka is getting booked right now. This was actually really good, despite it all, and Alexa eventually just walked out. She was on her way out when Nia Jax showed up to get revenge, and when she ran, Mickie James got caught and got a beat down. Asuka wins, and that’s the big thing here, but James got beat by Nia Jax so there’s that.

Braun Strowman defeated Cesaro

Cesaro was able to garner a win here, and it wasn’t too hard for him. He also stated that he has a partner for Wrestlemania. I am hoping it’s James Ellsworth.

The Revival defeated Titus Worldwide

What would you expect from two jobbers facing off against NXT Elite? I thought for sure the Revival was going to get buried here, but nope, they didn’t. They were able to win with their finisher, and that was that. Titus Worldwide is officially at jobber status if you ask me.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks

Before this match Sasha Banks got on the mic and said that she was Bayley’s best friend and that she wanted to be friend still, and Bayley talked about how it was hard to get there etc. This was stupid. Out came Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and through some shenanigans, a distraction, and some back and forth wrestling, Absolution won and it caused a rift yet again to appear between Bayley and Banks! Paige looks flabby, by the way.

John Cena cut another promo.

John Cena cut a promo on the Undertaker and out came Kane. The Big Slow Machine chokesslammed John Cena and set up a match for next week, and that was that. Not good, not bad, just meh.

The Balor Club defeated The Miz and The Miztourage

The Miz cut the best promo of the night and called out Tyler Black and Prince Nevitte, which was purposely done I’m sure. The Balor Club showed up, which is made up of Finn Balor and the Club Sandwich boys. They would get the win here, but not without knocking out the MIztourage yet again, and getting the upper hand. They would get the pinfall win, but after the match the Miz and crew attacked Balor and that prompted Seth Rollins to come in for the save. The match was ok at best.

Woken Matt Hardy defeated Bray Wyatt in the Ultimate Deletion

This was a fun match, but it wasn’t as good as the TNA ones. It had a lot of brawling, some great introductions, and some nice little points of back and forth fighting and wrestling. There was more pyro here than any other time in WWE from the past year, mind you. Eventually Wyatt got a beat down and lost, getting thrown into the lake of reincarnation and disappearing. This was a great way to end Raw if you ask me. A great overall brawl if you ask me. Not bad, and good comedy, and great way to end what seemed like a 10 hour night of Raw.

Overall, Raw was good if you ask me. It wasn’t bad at times, and it progressed the stories that are going into Wrestlemania, with a focus on the ending with the Ultimate Deletion. However, I didn’t like how Michael Cole was hating on it, what a jerk. Other than that, the final was good, the beat down at the beginning was good, and the in between was just ok.

Daniel Bryan Has Been Medically Cleared For In Ring Comeback

Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared for an in-ring comeback!

That's correct, Daniel Bryan has been cleared!

That is it for now.

ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018 Results and Review

ROH 16 Anniversary Graphic
Well, after a bit of time, I finally was able to get my hands on ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018. Since this is a flagship blog, I will be reviewing it here, the major PPV, not the television tapings that occurred afterwards. I almost went to this, but instead, focused on staying home and sleeping. But hey, that’s just me. Anyways, this happened in Las Vegas at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall. I don’t know the attendance, but I’m sure it’s fine. The following are the matches and my thoughts on them, as you would expect from this blog.

ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018 Results and Review

Hiromu Takahashi defeated Flip Gordon

Takahashi had a slow start here, and Flip Gordon was great to see. He is so athletic and was able to counter attack the onslaught that Takahashi kept throwing down. Gordon’s moves were great, but it was the Japanese star that would get the big win. There’s a lot of back and forth here, and some great overall reactions and timing, with a focus on wrestling and dancing at one point. Gordon is great, and of course Takahashi is always fun to watch.

Marty Scurll defeated Punishment Martinez

I’ve never been impressed with Punishment Martinez, but in this match, he had a real test. Marty Scurll, the Villain, was great here. He played his role to the tee, and while Martinez had a great deal of offense, it was the Villain that outsmarted him in the end, including a table spot, a fake out powder spot, and a low blow. Scurll just keeps getting better and better.

Kenny King defeated Silas Young in the ROH TV Title Match

This was not that good for me. I was bored. The ending was ok, but I wasn’t invested in this match at all, so when it all went down, I didn’t care. It was ok at best. I found it to be somewhat slow, and plotting, and well, it wasn’t grand. King and Young put on about 15 minutes of slow paced wrestling, but there were a few bright spots, mind you. The suplex outside of the ring, for instance, was a good spot, other than that, though, meh.

SoCal Uncensored defeated The Hung Bucks for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles in a Las Vegas Street Fight

This was a lot of fun with all the guys doing a great deal of work. The Young Bucks threw down a lot of reversals, tag team moves, and even went through a couple of tables. The SoCal Uncensored guys were great too, with Kazarian getting busted wide open, Scorpio Sky and Daniels throwing in some great high flying moves, and of course taking some great punishment. Both teams put on a show, and it’s fun to see a great street fight with hardcore rules. It’s better than a lot of matches I’ve seen in WWE this year. Fun for what it was and almost 20 minutes long.

Cody defeated Matt Taven

I’m not a huge Cody Rhodes fan, but in this match he did shine. It well paced, fast, and Taven kept up with him step for step. Bury The Bear was on the outside and was getting some chants, and Brandi Rhodes was there too, and she’s beautiful. The match itself went back and forth until there was a ref bump. That prompted a couple of thugs to come out and beat down Cody Rhodes, but he was wearing a cup! After Cross Rhodes, Matt Taven would go down for the three count. A good match, no doubt.

After the match, Bury The Bear pushed Rhodes and took of his head, and it was none other than KennY Omega! That’s right, Omega showed up and hit Rhodes with his finisher and left him for dead!

The Briscoes defeated The Motor City Machine Guns for the Tag Team Titles

Not a great match. It was a bit boring. I’ve seen these guys wrestle so much that by the time the Briscoes got the win, I was ready to move on. I guess after the Omega reveal, this show was getting me a bit bored. I don’t watch ROH TV from week to week so it’s hard to get interested in some matches. Either way, this had some good moments, and the Briscoes are just fast as ever, alongside the Machine Guns which always deliver fast paced action.

Dalton Castle defeated Jay Lethal in the ROH World Championship Match

A 26 minute match that wasn’t too bad. A good back and forth match with Lethal getting the upper hand in a lot of the sequences, but Castle coming back with a bit of finesse. Castle is an interesting champion, and while there are signs that he could be as good as Flair, he has his own elements. Castle wins big here, and Lethal loses out overall.

WWE 205 Live March 8, 2018 Results and Review

Buddy Murphy Keeping Ali Quiet - SRC WWE dot com
205 Live once again showcased how good it can be. In just an hour, you’re going to find that the wrestling on this show is nothing short of spectacular. This is a fascinating little show, and if you’re not watching, you need to check it out.

WWE 205 Live Results and Review

Drew Gulak defeated Mark Andrews

This was a fight, a real fight. Andrews was able to turn things up with his high flying, but Gulak was fighting hardcore. He fought through a lot of Gulak’s technical tactics, but would eventually miss a high spot and then get thrown into a hard dragon sleeper for the win. Gulak, before the match cut a “Power Point” presentation name drop and I was marking out huge. This was good, and that’s that. Great match.

Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa defeated Two Jobbers

The WWE site has put the names of these two jobbers, but I didn’t want to type it out. Itami and Tozawa are fluid in the ring and I was surprised to see how well they worked together. They put the jobbers through some nice moments, and at this point, I see them getting the belts if the rumored tag team match is true.

Mustafa Ali defeated Buddy Murphy

This was one hell of a match. Ali did his usual spots, but Buddy Murphy was one step ahead for the majority of the match. Go and watch this and see two performers that were evenly matched with one just faster than the other. Murphy was just so good against Ali, and it brought the best out of Ali throughout. At the end of the match, it was Murphy that would lose because he had a shoulder issue that Ali kept going back to. I was impressed with the counters during this match, and honestly, you can’t sleep on this, it was that good. An incredible show ender, and I would go back and see it again.

That’s the end of 205 Live, and great stuff. Next week we will have Roderick Strong and Cedric Alexander will throw down for an incredible showcase as well.

WWE Smackdown Live March 6, 2018 Results and Review The B Show Cannot Get Worse

Styles Delivers - source wwe dot com
There cannot be a worse show than Smackdown. It’s simply a terrible progression that you know you hate, but you won’t admit it. I couldn’t believe how bad this thing was, but then again, I could believe it because I keep seeing this occur over and over again. At least we didn’t get a six woman tag team match again, right? Let’s discuss how this all went down for a moment.

WWE Smackdown Live March 6, 2018 Results and Review

Charlotte Flair and Ruby Riott Cut Promos

These two women cut promos and that’s it. The two went through scripted lines and it was awkward as hell. I didn’t like the performances here, and I can’t believe it didn’t turn into fisticuffs. The show was simple enough, and it worked for what it was. At the end of the day, this was just filler to me. Bobby Roode interrupted everyone and then we cut to commercial.

Jinder Mahal defeated Randy Orton

I called this one. I thought that the Fastlane match would turn into a triple threat, and maybe it still will happen. Other than that, we saw Jinder Mahal get the pinfall after Orton got distracted by Bobby Roode outside of the ring. This wasn’t half bad, as the match went back and forth and the two can wrestle well together. I didn’t hate it, but I just knew that Jinder Mahal was going to win this match.

Becky Lynch defeated Carmella

This was all Carmella for the most part. Lynch was getting a beat down for the most part, but one mistake and Carmella got hooked into the arm bar and that was that. Lynch was able to tap out Carmella and that was ok I guess. I really miss James Ellsworth at this point because he could keep helping Carmella win matches, and now, it’s just boring to me.

Aj Styles cut a promo.

Aj Styles got interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and the two exchanged words before they started their match.

Aj Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler

This was a halfway decent match, but it went too long without a winner because out came Zayn and Owens showing up and causing chaos. That made Shane McMahon show up to make this a straight up tag team match! I kid. Instead it was simply another setup for a fatal 5 way in which Baron Corbin was sent in.

Sami Zayn won a fatal 5 way

This was a fast paced match with a lot of fun spots, but it was all about the end with Kevin Owens getting pinned by Zayn. There’s not much to say about all of this, other than Aj Styles is the best wrestler in the world. He was able to gain a serious amount of momentum here and it was fascinating to see the whole thing. I was impressed with the move set he threw down, and well, everyone else got their stuff in as well.

A highlight for me was when Rusev challenged Nakamura backstage. Other than that, this was a B show and it sucked. Nothing was memorable here.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 5, 2018 Results and Review This Is All They Got?

Elias with A Stellar Elbow Off The Top - Source WWE dot com
Another long one folks, it seemed like Raw took 3 to 9 hours to get through, and it wasn’t half bad, but it wasn’t half good either, right? There’s a lot to break down, and I’m sure the one million podcasts out there are going to talk about it, so I don’t have to. But I will discuss what went down with Monday Night Raw as you always expect from this blog that was established on Myspace then moved here in 2007.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 5, 2018 Results and Review

The opening segment was quite good with Kurt Angle calling out Triple H only to get Stephanie McMahon. That prompted Ronda Rousey to come out, and all hell broke loose when she tried to slap Kurt Angle. Triple H came out to stop things, and that led to a break down in communication after a while, and fisticuffs broke out. Angle got the better of Triple H, and as Triple H was moving out of the ring, Ronda grabbed Stephanie McMahon by the hair and delivered a Samoan drop on her! This of course comes after Ronda said that she would want to face Stephanie McMahon at Wrestlemania. Kurt Angle threw himself into the mix making it Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle versus Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in a tag team match.

I really liked the segment and marked out huge for Ronda’s Samoan Drop! I’m a fan, and she’s amazing to me, I’d love to have a conversation with her someday.

Asuka defeated Nia Jax

One of the hardest hitting matches since Sid Vicious versus Chris Benoit for the WCW Title was featured here. Asuka took a serious beating for the most part, and Nia Jax was able to get the upper hand in nearly all of the match, with the sole exception of the ending. Asuka was able to wear down Nia Jax enough to strap on a nice submission on the arm, then an arm bar and made the big girl tap. However, Jax did everything to get out of it, including trying to drop Asuka on the mat with a powerbomb, and a buckle bomb, and she just couldn’t get out of it. She was left in the ring crying, and led to a segment backstage where she was crying some more, and I couldn’t hold it together. I can’t see a grown woman cry, I wanted to hug her. Good match, and Asuka wins again. Wow.

The Bar defeated The Revival

This was an interesting little match, and I do say little. The Revival came through with some nice moves here and there, but The Bar wasn’t going to let them get the win, they polished up their moves and eventually hit their finisher and buried the Revival. The Revival were just buried here, and that’s the end of the line for them if you ask me. What a lousy way to get called up to the main roster, jobber central.

John Cena defeated Goldust

This match wasn’t half bad, but it was setup to be a lot bigger. Goldust cut a long scathing promo on John Cena, and that setup a match. The two went back and forth, but honesty, it wasn’t held together well with the crowd. The crowd was quiet all night, and while this should’ve been better, it just wasn’t that great and Cena would eventually get his moves of doom and win the match, and that’s the end.

Bayley defeated Mandy Rose

This wasn’t to bad of a match, but I don’t get why Absolution keeps losing. They are supposed to be dominant, and yet they keep losing, and here we go again, losing to Bayley. Bayley was good, and after the match got a beat down from the girls of Absolution and was saved by Sasha Banks. Banks went in for a hug and Bayley refused! This was good, and pointed to the complexities of their friendship right now.

Braun Strowman defeated Elias in a Symphony of Destruction Match

This match featured a lot of musical instruments and falls count anywhere. It started with Elias playing the instruments and singing, then asking for an introduction of proper means. When the lights went out, he ran for it, and was trying to escape the arena, but couldn’t. Braun was holding his car hostage by lifting it up and that caused Elias to get out and run back to the arena. Strowman beat the snot out of Elias for the most part and then buried him under a piano and a large bass guitar, and that was that. Strowman wins again, Elias was left for dead.

Bray Wyatt defeated Rhyno

Wyatt buried Rhyno, and that was that. Not a good match at all. Remember when Rhyno and Heath Slater were over like crazy? Yeah, neither does the rest of the arena.

There was a promo with Matt Hardy declaring war at the Hardy Compound, which should be fun for a final deletion.

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins defeated The MIz and The Miztourage

After the Mizzie Awards went on, the two thorns in the side of Miz came through and were thrown into a match with the Miztourage and The Miz. Finn Balor and Seth Rollins were dominant throughout, although there were a few moments when The Miz outsmarted them. It was short lived because Balor and Rollins would throw down their finishers and eventually pick up the big win, and that was the end.

Paul Heyman did another promo.

This was boring. I am tired of Lesnar’s lazy ass, and Heyman doing the same old promo over and over again. Roman Reigns showed up, and that was the end of the show. What a lousy way to end things.

Raw wasn’t half bad, but like I said, it wasn’t half good either. My favorite moments were the Asuka versus Nia Jax match, and the Symphony of Destruction match, other than that, this was a boring road to Wrestlemania. Oh, and the opening, how can I forget that? Good stuff there too.

WWE 205 Live February 27, 2018 Results and Review

Roderick Strong Kicks The Hell Out of Kalisto - Src WWE dot com
This week’s edition of 205 Live continued the tournament for the cruiserweight title, and it’s an interesting line up. There were some solid matches here, and despite the great wrestling, I still miss Enzo and some of the character driven interactions, specifically the dancing of the Zo Train.

Cedric Alexander defeated TJP

The formula of these matches are starting to get a bit predictable if you ask me. This match was good, and it had TJP doing a lot to ground Alexander throughout the match. It was interesting to see them battle, and it was fascinating to see how it all worked out, but overall it was telegraphed to be a loss for Alexander. TJP was able to garner a great deal of momentum until the end, where Alexander hit the Lumbar Check and pinned JTP clean. That’s the end of that.

Roderick Strong defeated Kalisto

This just looked painful at times. Roderick Strong worked well with Kalisto, but he was working like Dean Malenko here. It was fascinating to see Kalisto was able to throw in a few moves, but in the end Roderick Strong just had too many moves for the high flyer to overcome. Strong is a sure fire man to get to the Cruiserweight final. He’s an incredible talent and it showed here for this match.

That was it. Just two matches to fill 45 minutes of time, and they weren’t half bad. The crowd wasn’t that into them, but the matches succeeded in showcasing the talent and working towards pure wrestling, without a lot of gimmicks. Not bad.
