WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/30/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison via countout
Beth Phoenix defeated Jenny Brooks
Matt Hardy defeated Escobar
Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest
CM Punk defeated Scott Armstrong
Chris Jericho defeated Kane

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/30/09 Review

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are the ringside announcers now, since Jim Ross is not feeling so hot lately.

Teddy Long started the show talking about how Smackdown was great at Bragging Rights, and then recapping the events that transpired between Batista and Rey Mysterio. Teddy Long started talking about how great the Smackdown brand was, then Chris Jericho came out to talk about random crap. Teddy Long took the trophy away from Jericho, and the night continued with Jericho complaining about how he doesn’t have a title shot.

This prompted Kane to show up. After a near melee, Teddy Long created a match to see who would join the Big Show and Undertaker for the title. Kane and Jericho will square off later tonight and the Survivor series match is going to be a triple threat match, just like the Raw main event will be.

Long gone are the days of singles matches for the title? Am I watching TNA? I’m confused.

Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison via countout

This match started fast, off rails and going forward to becoming match of the night. Morrison and Ziggler are definitely the future of this company, even though John Morrison’s ring attire is a bit dated at this point. This match was fast paced, move for move, and these guys put on a great show. I really liked how these two knew each others moves and narrowly missed getting hit by them. The match broke down on the outside, as Ziggler hit a sick move on the announcers table, costing the ten count on John Morrison and winning this match with ease.

Beth Phoenix defeated Jenny Brooks

Beth Phoenix defeated this jobber or sorts. This match was all Beth Phoenix, and it was nice to see her get some good offense in and prove that she can wrestle and is not just a…face of sorts.

Matt Hardy defeated Escobar

Matt Hardy is fat. Escobar is a wannabe latino heat…only he has none of the charisma. WWE buries talent, and uses Matt Hardy and his fat gut to do it. On the other hand, this match had some good moments. Escobar attacking Hardy’s knee was a classic technical wrestler move, however, not following up and letting Matt Hardy steal another win, is not a classic move. Matt Hardy completely buries the new guy, and why not? That’s the traditional way of not getting someone over in the wwe. I don’t mind, the match wasn’t completely terrible. It was a bit shorter than I thought it would be, and probably because Escoobar isn’t ready for the big time.

Rey Mysterio wanted an explanation in ring about what happened. Batista came out and the two shared words. This thing wasn’t as tense as I thought, and it really didn’t look that great to me. However, Batista turning Heel? That’s something I could get behind, but seeing Mysterio in another “little man” vs “big man” feud is a bit much. We need a cruiserweight division, that’s for sure.

On a sidenote, I want to say that Twilight sucks, and I’m already tired of seeing the advertisements for a pg-13 new moon…now if it was rated R and we got some….um…nevermind.

Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest

Finlay, the guy who loves to fight, was scheduled to wrestle Drew McIntyre. However, Finlay never really made it as Drew McIntyre attacked him and forced the match to get canceled. It’s ironic really that Finlay gets pwned like this. Oh well. I like how they are building up Drew McIntyre.

The Divas had a costume contest, and it broke into a fight. I’ve been tired of the no talent wwe divas for a long time, but I don’t call the shots, I just review em.

Cm Punk defeated Scott Armstrong

Remember that awesome match in WCW with Brad Armstrong and Dean Malenko? Of course you don’t, but this match reminded me of that. Only because Scott Armstrong comes from a wrestling family and like his other brothers isn’t very famous…until now…well Road Dogg is, but that’s another story. Punk killed Scott Armstrong here, he hit the GTS and really made short work out of Armstrong, for no apparent reason other than Punk couldn’t beat the Undertaker.

Chris Jericho defeated Kane

Kane and Jericho put on an ok match. In fact, this match was a little more than ok, this was the first time I was actually interested in a Kane match. Well, the first time in a long time. The Big Slow machine has been stinking up the arena’s for quite sometime, and I feel he’s on his way out. He’s a tired gimmick and boring to watch. He has some cool moments though, but overall, he’s not that good…unless he’s wrestling Chris Jericho. Jericho was not in control for most of this match as it seemed that every time he would throw a move up, he would get stopped by Kane and couldn’t really capitalize on it. This match really started to slow down but Jericho’s Codebreaker on Kane as Kane came off the top rope, made this something to see. While it didn’t look as good as many other moments that Jericho has done, this spot was done well considering Kane’s size. Jericho wins and is going to Survivor series to wrestle a similar storyline that Raw is doing. Oh well…

Smackdown was ok, nothing too crazy happened and it was entertaining enough to get me through another day of wrestling.

TNA Impact Results 10/29/09

Sometimes things happen that is beyond my control. Well, last night I guess I had some control, but it messed up the TNA review as we know it. I was trying to watch the new episode of The Office, but accidentally canceled the TNA recording, so I didn't get impact to review this morning. I usually do it in the morning because I go to bed earlier than most...due to my wife's work schedule.

So instead of a full review, here's the results. I'll have a full Smackdown review for you though, so stick with me.

Tna Impact Results 10/29/09

Tara defeated Alyssa Flash
The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Team 3D
Eric Young vs. Bobby Lashley no contest
Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich defeated Odb, Christy Hemme, and Hamada

Ecw on ScyFy 10/28/09 Results and Review The Yoshi Era

Ecw on ScyFy 10/28/09 Results

Sheamus defeated Shelton Benjamin
Christian defeated Yoshi Tatsu

Ecw on ScyFy 10/28/09 Review

The show started off with The Abraham Washington show. It featured the General Manager of ECW as guest, and it wasn’t all that good. William Regal came out and asked for a title shot, and she said no. Regal then tore up the Abraham Washington set, and that’s about it. The show got a new broadcast announcer, and I forgot his name. It’s totally a different voice than Matt Stryker.

Sheamus defeated Shelton Benjamin

Shelton might be the best pure athlete in the WWE, but he can’t talk on the mic that’s why he’s in midcard hell on the third tier show. He does have skills, and it’s a surprise he’s not used more in main story lines, he could definitely match John Morrison at times, and dare I say, even the Miz. Sheamus was taking it to Benjamin, hitting a lot of power moves and isolating the high flyer by putting on easy submissions throughout the match up. This match was given some time to develop and it wasn’t half –bad. Benjamin really got his bearings in the second half and it looked like Sheamus was going to get a loss instead of juts simply moving to Raw. The Gold Standard was really pushing to get a win, and maybe move up the ranks, and it wasn’t an easy task at all. But nope, a swift kick to the head and it was over. What a terrible ending, oh well. Sheamus is out of here.

Christian defeated Yoshi Tatsu

Yoshi Tatsu kept hitting his moves, kept pinning, kept moving, and this shocked the champion. Christian was definitely not prepared for Yoshi as his strategy changed slightly. At one point it looked as though Yoshi might have hurt his leg legit, but Christian didn’t let him breathe or relax, coming off the top rope with a cross body block to keep the match going in his favor. Christian put on a show for the fans, going for his moves, but Yoshi wasn’t going to just be another opponent to succumb to Christian’s move set, he kept fighting, and that’s what made this match worth it. He just kept coming at Christian, no “face vs heel” nothing like that, they just kept wrestling; which made for a great match. The ECW champion seemed like he couldn’t put away Yoshi, but Yoshi was showing frustration too, and that frustration led him to nearly get pinned with a twist of fate like move. If you missed this match folks, you really missed a good one, as both men couldn’t put one another away…until the Killswitch was engaged! Yoshi gets defeated by the champion, but what a match, it’s a rarity in WWE.

Post match, William Regal and his cronies beat up Christian.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/26/09 Results and Review Bragging Rights Aftermath

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/26/09 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated Chris Jericho
Santino & Melina defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jillian
MVP & Mark Henry (aka team Kool Aid) defeated Legacy
Evan Bourne defeated The Miz via countout
Shaemus defeated Jamie Noble
Triple H defeated The Big Show in a no dq lumberjack match with special guest referee John Cena

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/26/09 Review

The Big Show and Chris Jericho came out and started talking about their win. It was boring to me, and I was too tired to really place a false sense of caring. Big Show reveals that the Undertaker and Big Show are headed for a collision course for the title! Jericho gets upset but is interrupted by two Nascar drivers! They are the hosts…I hate Nascar.

However, they end up playing Metallica, so it’s all good.

Kyle Busch & Joey Logano are the special guests! I have no idea who these guys are. This is the worst hosting job ever, seriously, this is the worst thing ever.

Kofi Kingston defeated Chris Jericho

This match was actually quite good. Jericho really pushed Kofi Kingston to the limits, with Kingston making a rookie mistake and letting Chris Jericho get the better of him after the commercial break. Kofi did pick up the pace and had some great momentum and hit some stellar moves with great timing, but Jericho seemed to be a quarter of a step ahead of him. This match was slowed down at one point by Chris Jericho, trying to ground Kofi Kingston constant high flying offensive attempts, and it was working for a short while. Kofi seemed to be turning things around, hitting his pieces of signature offense, and barely blocking a superplex attempt, but after a Codebreaker, I wasn’t so sure that Jericho could pull this one off. As Jericho argued with the referee, Trouble in Paradise came flying at Chris Jericho, knocking him out and making this match the best thing I’ve seen in wrestling in a while.

Post match, Randy Orton ended up attacking Kofi Kingston, and throwing him off the stage! This is most likely because Orton blames him for losing the title last night at Bragging Rights.

Cody and Ted Dibiase gave Randy Orton a Nascar car with his face painted on it! That’s right, it’s kind of gay, but what are you going to do? Lame.

At this point in this week’s raw I was tired, and wanted to sleep…but instead kept plowing through one of the worst Raw’s…sure it had a good opening match, but man, it seems like forever since something happened in ring…a lot of backstage stuff happened, mainly terrible cohost crap. Oh and how do you forget kofi kingston’s name? Kofi Johnson? What the heck? Oh man…

Santino & Melina defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jillian

Finally, Chavo Guerrero gets a shot at not wrestling Hornswoggle for a change. Chavo must be off the juice, because he’s not completely defined nor is he as bulky as he has been in the past. He started this match with Santino, and Santino for once looked like he could wrestle! This was short lived, but it was nice to see him give it a fair try, which was interesting to see overall. Jillian got the tag and Santino ended up tagging in Melina, and this match turned into a divas type match up…a boring one at that. Hornswoggle showed up at ringside, Melina botched a sunset flip, nearly breaking Jillians neck, then screamed and hit some random leg drop and won the match up! Santino and Melina were celebrating as if they were going out, odd. Hornswoggle was in there just getting paid to be there, that’s always cool.

Hornswoggle was hit with a cease and desist order from Dx telling him to stop doing the Dx gimmick, lame.

Legacy was in ring talking about random crap, and John Cena came and interrupted, as usual. This thing broke down into a random match making moment, what match? Oh man…

MVP & Mark Henry (aka team Kool Aid) defeated Legacy

Surprisingly, this was a fast paced match with Legacy looking weaker than they should. The fan favorites were hitting some great moments, and spots, but it seemed like both teams were under pressure to finish this match up early or something, it just seemed a bit rush. MVP and Mark Henry won this match up and it wasn’t as though they were completely dominant, but given the time slot, yes, they were all stars in there. Legacy might be on their way out, or a split is looming, because they aren’t as good as they claim to be and it’s showing now more than ever before.

In ring Legacy was joined by Randy Orton, Orton then started talking but was interrupted by Kofi Kingston, backstage. Kofi was at Randy Orton’s car and started to beat the crap out of it! That’s right, the car that Legacy gave Orton earlier, was now getting pummeled by Kingston! Orton was mad, but oh well.

Evan Bourne defeated The Miz via countout

I could’ve sworn we’ve seen this match many times before. This match was going slow and then started to build, however, Jack Swagger was outside trying to impress Eve Torres into sleeping with him? I don’t know. Something happened and then a countout ensued. Terrible match up. These guys have put on better matches before, I don’t know why the WWE threw this one up for me to hate. You didn’t like it, admit it.

Shaemus defeated Jamie Noble

I misspell the dudes name a lot, so what. I was more impressed by the fact that Jamie Noble still has a job! WHAT THE HELL? Seriously? Yep, Jamie Noble is still employed! He lost, but he’s still there! He got worked over by the new Raw member, Finlay lite….yeah I said it.

Triple H defeated The Big Show in a no dq lumberjack match with special guest referee John Cena

The Big Show and Triple H were ready to get it on, but Triple H called out a slew of lumberjacks, all the Raw guys! That’s right, all the Raw guys came to ringside, and not only was this a lumberjack match it was a no dq match. We also got a special guest referee, John Cena!

I hate to admit it but, WWE totally saved themselves with this. This is exactly the kind of crap that keeps me watching WWE! WOOO!

At least that is what I was thinking before the commercial break. We left the match with Show getting thrown out to the floor and getting beat up by the Raw roster, but when we returned from our break, the match slowed down and Big Show was in complete control over Triple H. That’s not what I was expecting, especially since this is a no dq match up which would prompt me to believe that the Raw guys could in fact run in and beat up Show and that would be ok, but nope. This match got really good when Big Show had Triple H beat and down for the three count. John Cena counted two, but then his shoulder mysteriously hurt.

The Raw crew ran inside to mop up, and each one hit their finisher on BIG SHOW! Just like a video game, this thing was awesome. Even Santino got a moment in the sun, until Show chokeslamed him to hell! Ok, not to hell but come on, stay with me! John Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment, then Triple H put Big Show in a Smackdown t-shirt and let Shawn Michaels hit a huge Super Kick to the side of the head, followed up by the Pedigree and this thing was all over. Say goodnight!

The only thing I didn’t like about this match up was the fact that they just buried the Smackdown show, but it was fun to watch. This main event was hilarious, entertaining, and just what I wanted to see, fast paced cartoon like wrestling action, great stuff! Wooooo!

The co-hosts announced that at Survivor Series it would be John Cena vs Triple H vs Shawn Michaels for the title! Then Raw went off the air, and I went to eat a sandwich…a mayo sandwich because I still have no job, no one is buying anything on amazon, and I’m broke. Barely making ends meet…oh well.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/23/09 Results

R Truth, Matt Hardy, Finlay, and The Hart Dynasty defeated Drew McIntyre, Escobar, Dolph Ziggler, JTG
John Morrison defeated Mike Knox
Rey Mysterio and Batista defeated Chris Jericho and Kane
Mickie James defeated Layla
The Undertaker defeated CM Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/23/09 Review

Jim Ross was sick, and we started the show with a recap of Raw. I was half asleep…and my arm hurt because I slept on it wrong.

Chris Jericho was in ring talking about how great his team was etc. Cryme Tyme interrupted Chris Jericho and it wasn’t half bad.

The show moved to having all the Smackdown Team in ring arguing about crap. Jericho and Kane basically forced four out of the seven members into a handicap match that wills tart later on tonight. This show just seemed like filler from the start.

R Truth, Matt Hardy, Finlay, and The Hart Dynasty defeated Drew McIntyre, Escobar, Dolph Ziggler, JTG

This was an odd thrown together match up, but hey, it’s the WWE, what do you expect? This match was your standard tag team fare, with the faces taking control with each major movement. The guys would hit some great shots, and keep the Smackdown hopefuls at bay for the most part. Due to the fact that there were so many personalities in this match up, there just was a lot of things working against the ref, who found it hard to keep control. Finlay hit JTG with a foreign object in the leg, and Matt Hardy hit the twist of fate, winning the match up! They didn’t let this match develop fully, but it had some good high spots, that’s for sure.

John Morrison defeated Mike Knox

This match wasn’t all that great at all. Mike Knox took Morrison to the limits, well, some limits, and after a few moments getting hit with Knox’s power moves, he managed to squirm out a win by hitting Starship Pain and not even breaking sweat! I guess he gets credit for that indeed.

Rey Mysterio and Batista defeated Chris Jericho and Kane

Jericho and Kane isolated Mysterio for a good portion of this match up. The two monster heel’s seemed to know how to really work the crowd too, because with every motion they had people cheering on Mysterio and hoping for a bright spot in the match up. The fans would go crazy when Mysterio opened up a spot for a fall away ddt and nearly tag Batista. However, the big red machine wasn’t done yet and he was pushing for more punishment. The match definitely got good when Batista got the hot tag, and this thing was a powder keg exploding, and even though Mysterio got choke slammed nearly through the mat, Batista was able to spear Kane and get the win for his team.

Mickie James defeated Layla

This match was boring to me. Mickie James was wrestling at half speed, and her opponent wasn’t keeping up at all, at least not in my view. Jerry Lawler said “very impressive” and I wish I was smoking what he was, because this match sucked.

The Undertaker defeated Cm Punk

The Undertaker had the cards stacked against him in this match up, and that made for an intriguing factor. While it was the undertaker that had all the problems against him in this match up, it was CM Punk that had full control over his opponent during the ongoings of this match up. Whenever Undertaker would try to force his will, Punk was right there to counter. This didn’t last too long as The Undertaker would find a way to come back and start giving Punk some sick moves. Snakeeyes, a leg drop and a running clothesline put Punk in a major daze. Punk brought in a chair to the match but Taker was the one that used it, well at least in reversing Punk’s running attack. Undertaker then hit a huge choke slam on the referee, and put his eyes set on Teddy Long! Punk leveled Undertaker with a steel chair and as Teddy Long called for a new referee, Punk put on the Anaconda device, but couldn’t submit Undertaker. Undertaker than slid out and hit the Hell’s Gate submission hold and made Cm Punk tap out! Undertaker retains, regardless of all the odds stacked against him.

Smackdown was ok…if you thought differently leave a comment. Also, make sure you click the Amazon ads and buy something, I still have no job…and am severely broke.

Tna Impact 10/22/09 Results and Review Aftermath from Bound For Glory

Tna Impact 10/22/09 Results

Homicide defeated The Amazing Red
Matt Morgan defeated Scott Steiner
Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash defeated Aj Styles & Daniels
Awesome Kong defeated Raisha Saeed
Hernandez defeated Rhino
The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Lethal Consequences in an ultimate x match
Beer Money defeated The British Invasion by disqualification in a six sides of steel match

Tna Impact 10/22/09 Review

TNA Impact immediately started with Kurt Angle coming down to the ring to start speaking on whatever it is he’s mad at this week. Kurt Angle was bad mouthing the main event mafia and others, it’s lame; I’m sick of Kurt Angle, seriously, that dude needs to take time off from the mic. Rhino came out and started yelling, then Team 3-D came out and started yelling and Security had to be called down. Lame intro to TNA that’s for sure.

Homicide defeated The Amazing Red

Homicide didn’t wait for this match to start in the ring, he attacked Amazing Red on the way down to the ring, and the two battled it out on the floor in this x-division match up. Homicide was on his game, he was attacking at will, hitting a lot of great things, but it was Red who was impressive, dodging bullets to make sure that he’s not losing this match easily. He was motivated and really fast, but Homicide caught him in a rare moment and the match slowed down from the frenzied pace of the beginning to a more traditional speed. Amazing Red got a second wind in this match up, but after picking up steam Homicide hit the Gringo Killer and won this match up. The Gringo Killer is dangerous, that’s for sure.

Matt Morgan defeated Scott Steiner

Scott Steiner started this match with some offense, but Matt Morgan was no selling the whole thing. Morgan than went forward with his brand of offense, but Steiner wasn’t just going to job out to Morgan without a fight and he started to bring things back into focus. Towards the middle of this match, it was obvious that Steiner was tired and the match really slowed down and while Morgan was hitting full speed, Steiner seemed to be gasping for breath and really out of it by comparison. Outside of the ring Steiner messed with Bobby Lashley’s wife and that prompted “The Boss” to run down and fight Steiner. Lashley threw Steiner back into the ring, and Matt Morgan hit the Carbon Footprint, to win the match up.

Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash defeated Aj Styles & Daniels

This match started out with a melee, bodies flying all over the ring, and it was ok to start off. I didn’t mind it too much as the teams fizzled down into a standard tag team match up, with Styles playing the Face in peril of sorts. Joe and Nash were hitting hard, and it seemed as though they were taking liberties with Styles, but it was all part of their offensive plan against the high flyer, grounding him from going big with his fast paced risk taking offense. Styles eventually tagged in Christopher Daniels and things started to turn around, Daniels was easily taking out Nash and Joe with all of his offense. While I still liked him as The Fallen Angel, he was holding his own against two bigger men, for a short time at least. Styles took out Joe and Nash was left with Daniels to finish this match up. Nash hit a huge chokeslam and this match was done. Not a terrible match, but definitely nothing you haven’t already seen before from these four guys.

Awesome Kong defeated Raisha Saeed

Awesome Kong was getting her revenge on her former partner. She started this match with heavy moves and hitting harder than I’ve seen her hit in a while. Saeed was trying to use her speed to get this thing going her way. Awesome Kong was just too much for her though, as Kong was having her way. This wasn’t a total squash though, as Saeed was able to get a few shots in with some hard shots and quick reversals. Kong hit the implant buster and this thing was over, Awesome Kong got her revenge and it looked like it hurt.

Hernandez defeated Rhino

The two big men started this match fast and it was actually quite good on the fly. Hernandez has really gotten good with his timing in ring, and Rhino, well he’s a veteran of the ring and is always on. Overall this was your standard big man match, there were a few moments with fast paced action, but more power moves and misses than anything else. Hernandez hit the big splash off the top rope winning this match up against Rhino with relative ease.

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Lethal Consequences in an ultimate x match

This match started off fast, as it should have. Both teams were on time, and were fast and furious. This of course was an Ultimate X match and it failed to impress me initially, but it had enough gusto to make an overall good match between these two veteran teams. Lethal Consequences had a lot of great moments in this match up, including chain tag team wrestling, and top rope moves. The match eventually boiled down to the team that could hit the biggest and best tandem top rope impact move and this time around it was The Motor City Machine Guns.

Beer Money defeated The British Invasion by disqualification in a six sides of steel match

This match was stupid. Well, it looked stupid, that’s for sure. This was a six sides of steel match, yet the two teams had to tag in to get into the match up? I hate when they do this, why even have a steel cage if you have to follow the traditional “tag team” rules? It just doesn’t seem right, but that’s ok, the match went forward and it wasn’t terrible. Sure it was flawed, but it wasn’t the worst match I’ve seen in professional wrestling nor Tna. Beer Money seemed out of it, and I didn’t think they could pull it off, but they had this thing nearly sewn up at one point with a double team ddt on Doug Williams. Magnus was able to stop the nearfall and it was Williams that went to the very top of the cage but was stopped by James Storm. Magnus then set up an interesting move and things got really scary when they pulled a Tower of Doom that was completely botched! Someone could’ve died, if you saw this, you know what I’m talking about. Beer Money had this match won but Magnus knocked out the ref! A team of refs came running down to stop the match and nothing was really resolved initially.

The British Invasion loses a CAGE match via Disqualification? This makes no sense, seriously, no sense. This really made me hate TNA, beyond compare. How do you get Disqualified in a STEEL CAGE MATCH! SERIOUSLY! TNA SUCKS!

Kurt Angle came out to the ring and called out Desmond Wolf, a new guy that attacked Kurt Angle unprovoked! I like that sort of introduction to new guys. Kurt Angle then started heading back to the backstage area, and was blindsided by this new guy, Desmond Wolf! I liked it, finally, a new guy that just picks fights…like WWE did with their new guy…on Smackdown. Oh well, this thing turned into a brawl right away and it was Desmond that was impressive, with an obvious mean streak.

TNA wasn’t all that great this week. Angle getting pummeled was cool, other than that, a forgettable night of pro-wrestling.

Ecw on ScyFy 10/20/09 Results and Review Countdown to Bragging Rights

Ecw on ScyFy 10/20/09 Results

Yoshi Tatsu defeated Zack Ryder
Sheamus vs A Jobber no contest
Christian defeated Chris Jericho

Ecw on ScyFy 10/20/09 Review

Abraham Washington started the show off, and was interesting. It was only interesting because Chris Jericho walked by interrupting the show. The whole beginning segment was made cool because of Y2J, but why is he on ECW? Interesting.

Yoshi Tatsu defeated Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder and Yoshi Tatsu battled it out to see who would get an ECW title shot, and it was interesting at the start. The two newer members of the WWE roster have actually been better than many other talents that WWE has tried to develop, but they aren’t major hits, like many others. There was a small, but visible Yoshi Tatsu chant midway through the match, which was good, and he definitely had some good moves overall, he was starting this match out great. The match turned into a rest hold circus with Ryder putting on wear down hold after wear down hold to try and get this thing going in his favor. Yoshi kept reversing things and trying to sneak out of things. Yoshi eventually got a ton of offense in, and it was actually quite good, then followed up with a sweet springboard finisher to win this match up clean.

Jericho got a meeting backstage trying to get more talent for his team, but was essentially kicked out.

Sheamus vs A Jobber no contest

Sheamus defated a jobber with ease. I’m not a big fan of jobber matches, andthis match was terrible…but out came Shelton Benjamin to break things up, so the match was thrown out. Even Benjamin knew how boring this match was and broke into the place to show things up. A brawl ensued and wow, Benjamin looks ready to fight.

Paul Burchill was in ring talking smack about The Hurricane, then the real Hurricane showed up, and this was over. I’m sick of the Hurricane already, he’s fat.

Christian defeated Chris Jericho

Christian beat Jericho at Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle, so this match didn’t really catch my attention too much. Yes, these two can really put on a good match up, but it’s ECW, I’m tired and I don’t know, maybe there is just other things I could be doing…I kid. I still can’t believe Christian is on ECW and not main eventing a bigger show, especially since ditching TNA for WWE. Jericho had this thing working in his favor in the early goings of this match, putting in some good offense against the ECW Champion. However, Christian wasn’t going to just lie down and take it, and he started to fight back with some great moves. The second rope dropkick was picture perfect, proving that he’s not just some second tier champion. Even though Christian pushed things forward, it was Jericho that had things all figured out moving forward. Jericho was methodically punishing Christian with every step, until he gloated too long and couldn’t land the Lionsault on Christian. Christian then switched things around, moved towards finishing this match, hitting a spinning elbow off the middle rope, then going for the Killswitch! However, amidst Christian’s offense, Jericho nearly got the Twist of Fate, only to get countered and this match started to look like a little more than television fare. Jericho kept fighting and eventually did get Christian into the Walls of Jericho and this match looked as good as done for Christian. He managed to get to the ropes, and break things up, and then hit the Killswitch to garner him a stunning victory in this three star match up on ECW.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/19/09 Results and Review Snoop Dogg in the House

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/19/09 Results

Mark Henry, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, and Jack Swagger defeated some idiot, Primo, Chavo Guerrero,Evan Bourne, and Chris Masters
Randy Orton defeated Ted Dibiase Jr.
Triple H defeated John Cena
The Miz defeated Marty Janetty
Melina defeated Jillian
Chris Jericho vs Triple H no contest

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/19/09 Review

Snoop Dogg showed up in a pink Cadillac with none other than the biggest waste of diva talent, the Bella Twins and some other random chick. Snoop Dogg introduced Degeneration X and the two made fun of themselves as white guys by trying to speak like Snoop Dogg. Then they started bragging about random crap, and how they are going to mop up at Bragging Rights. You know, the usual promo. They then move forward to introduce team Raw and they come out to major fan fare. Which is odd, right?

Well, the Team for Raw has three major Heels. That’s the weird thing. Just take note next time you see them lined up. The team ate up a lot of time arguing with each other, and triple H was trying to be deadpool by breaking the fourth wall, and randomly making jokes for the smarks.

Mark Henry, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, and Jack Swagger defeated some idiot, Primo, Chavo Guerrero,Evan Bourne, and Chris Masters

Overall this match was your standard ten man tag team fare. Each team had a short while to strut their stuff, hit their moves, then tag the next guy. I’ve always liked this type of match, especially in the old “Best of the WWF” tapes that I used to get. This was a one pinfall match up, and the most disappointing thing about this one was that it was very short. Cody Rhodes had this thing won, but Jack Swagger hit a blind tag and got a pinfall win, after about five or six minutes of wrestling.

Post match, the Raw team fought each other until Big Show was last man standing.

Randy Orton defeated Ted Dibiase Jr.

Randy Orton wrestled Randy Orton and early on didn’t give offense. Orton told Dibiase backstage that he was not to fight back and just take a beating. So Orton started this match swiftly pummeling Dibiase, and pummeling him with rights and lefts, yelling at him, while Dibiase just took it like a little wuss.

Then Orton pushed Dibiase into the ropes, and it looked like Ted Dibiase was finally going to fight back! But it was short lived…at least in the early goings, as the two stared each other down. Orton hit the RKO and it was over. Ted Dibiase got punked out like a little girl, this was sad. Say goodnight to Ted Dibiase’s dignity. He’s done.

Triple H defeated John Cena

Triple H is in Degeneration X, yet he still comes out to his Motorhead music…seems odd to me. The match started out a little slow, but it turned around a little with Cena and Triple H exchanging moments of highlight. Triple H quickly reversed Cena’s attempts at taking control, and John Cena kept hanging in there when Triple H would try to hit anything major. So the match boiled down to a minor stalemate with a lot of rest holds, and Irish Whips into the turnbuckles, not too unlike playing a game of the classic Nintendo 64 wrestling video games. Triple H seriously hit about six Irish Whips into the corner, but when he went for the pedigree, Cena turned things around…right into the commercial break. John Cena got a second wind and got Triple H into the STF, but Cena kept applying pressure until Triple H got out through a rope break and hit the Pedigree! Cena got a foot on the rope and once again we get to go to commercial break. Triple H was in major trouble after the second break, Cena hit the five knuckle shuffle and was ready for the Attitude Adjustment, but Triple H weaseled his way out and hit his combination of spine buster, high knee and pedigree! It wasn’t enough as Cena kicked out then hit the Attitude Adjustment! Triple H barely kicked out of that one, and we were once again at a stale mate. Once again things turned in favor of Triple H and he hit another Pedigree, this time pinning John Cena clean…proving one more time that NO ONE GOES OVER TRIPLE H, Cena just lost all credibility going into the ppv. This match should’ve ended with a draw or interference.

The Miz defeated Marty Jannetty

The Miz fought one half of the old tag team, The Rockers. The Miz though, wasn’t phased too much. The Miz was hitting hard, and trying to prove that he’s not just a smack talker, but that he can back it up. The Miz hit the skullcrushing finale, and that was that. This match was lame overall. This was a good piece of nostalgia, if that, well…not really.

Melina defeated Jillian

Melina tripped walking up the ringside steps! Hilarious to say the least. This match was not really up my alley, I didn’t really care for it, because the divas suck. This match was short lived to say the least. It was a fast match with Melina winning easily.

Post match Hornswoggle came down to ringside and got shoved by Chavo. Snoop Dogg came down to challenge Chavo, and Chavo kept asking for it, so Snoop Dogg threw him down with a little help from Hornswoggle. Snoop hit Chavo with a spear! Then he just danced it up with the divas that came out, it was like the Godfather’s Ho-Train all over again. I wish they would have had the Godfather come out again, oh well.

Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho no contest

Chris Jericho started this match by having Cryme Tyme and the rest of the Smackdown team come down to ringside! This prompted the Raw team to come down! The two teams stared each other down until they were interrupted by none other than, Vickie Guerrero.

The two teams then went nuts and just started fighting it out with one another. A huge “WCW NITRO” style melee ensued and this thing was going nuts. I hate when shows end like this, but oh well. Raw went off the air amidst this.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Mike Knox and Finlay in a triple threat match
Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty
Eric Escobar defeated Matt Hardy
Drew McIntyre defeated R Truth via countout
Rey Mysterio defeated Batista

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/16/09 Review

Wow, I guess I missed the whole new Smackdown music and intro change. It’s not that great, but who cares? It’s just the intro music after all.

Chris Jericho was made team captain of the Smackdown crew for Bragging Rights. Chris Jericho was ranting and raving about how he’s better than DX and out came The Big Red Machine Kane. He claimed that Jericho was not the real captain, and scared Jericho. Jericho and Kane are now co-captains of sorts. Whatever…I’m not getting Bragging Rights.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Mike Knox and Finlay in a triple threat match

Finlay and Mike Knox opened up the show. I thought Mike Knox got axed a while ago? He’s not that good, but oh well. Oh right, Dolph Ziggler was also in this match as it was a triple threat match. Oh and guess what else? This match already happened a few months ago, so it wasn’t a surprise to me how this match was going. Finlay started the match fighting off Knox to the outside, then focusing on Ziggler with his Celtic offense and fast aggressive hits. Ziggler got control of the match, at least momentarily before Knox got into the fray, but Finlay wasn’t about to let go of any control in this match up, and was back in it. This match was going back and forth for sure, and it was interesting to note that all three men were never fighting one another at the same time, it was always isolated to one on one with the third breaking up the close falls. Knox hit an Electric Chair on Finlay and Ziggler hit an awkward big splash off the top, which was a nice sequence at the mid point of this match up. He couldn’t capitalize as Mike Knox broke up another near fall. The three men would exchange near falls throughout the ongoing points of the match up. Finlay hit Rolling Thunder on both Ziggler and Mike Knox which was the most impressive part of this match up. Finlay brought in his weapon as usual, knocked out Mike Knox but was broken up by Ziggler, and Ziggler got the pinfall! Once again stealing the match as he did a while back in the same exact pairing of guys. Ziggler is now a part of that Smackdown team for Bragging Rights.

Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty

Oh man, once again we get this match? I guess this is another way to force viewers to see the same thing, especially since the stipulation is that the winners will get into the Bragging Rights Smackdown team led by Jericho and Kane. I was impressed initially by The Hart Dynasty, but at this point they are just jobbers to me. I don’t see them as a viable tag team at all, and maybe that’s just me, but come on, they haven’t been that good, at least not to get the Hart name. DH Smith had full control of the Big Shad early on, controlling him with rest holds, submissions and offense. JTG got a hot tag and started to clean house. He was hitting fast dropkicks, quick reversals and was actually flying and getting the crowd into this. It looked like he was on his way to winning this thing, but Tyson Kidd was tagged in and barely got away. JTG impressed me with a new finisher, and the win with a pinfall on Tyson Kidd! Like I said, The Hart Dynasty are just jobbers right now.

Vickie Guerrero is back with a new wrestler…I don’t know what’s going on here…this is odd…but here is the new wrestler Eric Escobar.

Eric Escobar defeated Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy is still a little chunky, I’m not sure if you guys out there notice that too. He hasn’t been in shape since returning. Escobar is a new guy, I haven’t seen much out of him, and he was a little green. Hardy was definitely the aggressor, forcing Escobar to learn quickly in ring to survive, and it wasn’t looking good for Escobar’s first major match in WWE. He did have a good flurry of offense, but nothing major. I mean, if clotheslines and hard rights and lefts are major, then maybe I’m reviewing a different show. However, right when I threw in the towel for Escobar, Vickie Guerrero interfered and helped Escobar win the match up! That’s right, he has pinned Matt Hardy and is now a part of the Smackdown team for Bragging rights.

The Miz and John Morrison did a special edition of the dirt sheet that ended with them nearly fighting each other. Insults were thrown, let’s just say that. It was a waste of time really, but those two are clever on the mic, I must admit that.

Drew McIntyre defeated R Truth via countout

Finally, these two are fighting, at least for me to finally get a chance at seeing. These two have been building a good feud, how? By doing things old school. Drew has been assaulting R Truth backstage and in matches and that’s great. I wish things were more like that more often, just random fights backstage. Truth had this match going his way early on, hitting major offense with great power. Once again, Drew continues to impress this time by forcing R Truth to miss the ten count, and lose this match. Drew would attack on the outside and inside, and just looked like a good new comer to the world of Smackdown. He also won a spot on the Smackdown team for Bragging Rights.

Rey Mysterio defeated Batista

Batista and Rey Mysterio had a match here, and it was obvious that Batista did not want to wrestle this match up. Mysterio on the other hand wanted to have a serious match up, and was coming back to any offense that Batista was throwing at him. This match was essentially a stalemate at least in the early goings. As the match went forward, Mysterio isolated Batista’s leg and tried to make this match swing his way. Batiasta was nearly put in the 619 but ducked out of the way, Mysterio just kept moving forward; Batista of course started to ramp up as well. The two friends were playing up that relationship in this match up and nothing crazy was happening, the two just continued to move forward. Batista looked seriously considerate during this match, wanting not to hurt his friend here and pushing forward with power moves, trying to put Rey Mysterio away without killing him overall. This made for a slow match up, with Batista slowing the pace down so that Mysterio couldn’t go all out, and he didn’t have to look like a jerk. This was made ever more evident when he latched onto several rest holds on Mysterio. Mysterio fought it out though and he kept going for faster moves and moments, to no avail. Mysteiro hit the 619 and then went for the Hurricanrana, but was caught by Batista, and while Batista was going for the Batista bomb, Mysterio countered and hit the Hurricanrana after all and scored the pinfall on the big man! Batista argued with the ref claiming that the shoulder was up, and it was to no avail either, Batista just accepted the defeat.

Post match, CM Punk hit Mysterio with the GTS and then ran off!

Not half bad, I didn’t hate this show that’s for sure.

Tna Impact 10/15/09 Review

I’m not sure what happened in the past few weeks with TNA, but this edition of TNA Impact was supposed to be a Super Impact Show! The show was titled “Angle’s Revenge” and really frustrated me from the get go, because I think the how shouldn’t have titles and crap like that, but that’s life. So here we go, TNA Super Impact, 3 hours of wrestling…wow….I’m going to need a nap after this review.

The show opened up with Kurt Angle and the main event mafia in the ring. Angle was in wrestling gear and said he wanted to do things different tonight, and he wanted to make sure he was ready for Aj Styles tonight. Angle started rambling to the rest of the members of his mafia, and it was random, and well…boring. Aj Styles came out with Matt Morgan and the rest of the good guys that will face the mafia at bound for glory. They then ran down and started fighting the Main Event Mafia, and things were going nuts. Once again, this was just like the old Nitro days with the New World Order, making me wish I didn’t review TNA…but I can’t help it I guess. Security ran down and got things back to normal, somewhat, but this was just stupid to me, I haven’t seen TNA in a while, but I know that the last time I did, this sort of crap was all over the show.

The Beautiful People defeated Tara, Awesome Kong, and ODB

Awesome Kong and Tara were fighting outside of the ring, meanwhile ODB was fighting The Beautiful People alone. Awesome Kong then started to walk away up the ramp, leaving her two partners to fend for themselves, and it was somewhat brutal. Well, as brutal as the current state of the knockouts division could be. The Beautiful People are a half step slower than ODB and Tara and this was painfully obvious. This made me not like the match too much, even though it was watchable. It’s still better than the divas match up. Even Tara’s superkick was terrible, but whatever. Tara had a disagreement with ODB, superkicked her, and the Beautiful People got the pinfall.

The Pope gimmick sucks. Seriously, the worst gimmick I’ve seen TNA come up with in a long time. Whatever…this sucks.

Amazing Red vs Suicide No Contest

The Amazing Red, always impressive, is now the X Division champion and was facing the stupid wrestler Suicide. Both wrestlers were going for the exact same moves, and it was a stalemate in the early goings of this match up. Red hit a sweet corkscrew plancha to the floor by Red, and it was just impressive to see Red’s timing. Suicide had a strength advantage, carrying Red and catching Red at times, but it was mostly Amazing Red and his flurry of high spots. Suicide’s rolling slam to guillotine leg drop from the apron was impressive, and it was nice to see the x division getting a good thing going. Suicide was attacked by The Pope and the match was thrown out. Oh well…

Erik Young joined the broadcast team for a little color commentary.

Hernandez defeated The British Invasion in a gauntlet match

Hernandez had to wrestle the whole British Invasion in a gauntlet style match up. Initially he started off with Doug Williams and was doing quite well initially. However, it was Williams that proved impressive, turning around the power moves of Hernandez into a more stable match up. Hernandez turned this thing around and won this one clean.

Brutus Magnus ran down as the second opponent for Hernandez, and was taking advantage of the winded Mexican, getting some pinfall attempts in within a few moments of his match starting. Hernandez put away Magnus with the Border Toss and it was quite well.

The third man of the British Invasion came in, and man, he’s got to be on the roids. Big Rob is massive, and he took it to Hernandez from the get go. He was hitting hard and was wearing out his opponent, with what seemed like ease. While Big Rob was gloating a little, Hernandez hit with a huge powerbomb out of the corner and won this match with ease.

Post match, Erik Young ran down with a Kendo stick and started to mop him up. The British Invasion than hit their finisher, and left the big man laying in the middle of the ring writhing in pain.

Backstage there was a four way interview and that led to the cameras cutting to Lashley and Joe and other fighting backstage. We then got a commercial, then an interview with Kurt Angle, then another commercial, then an interview with Aj Styles. All in all a lot of time wasting by TNA, which bored me and I’m sure bored you too.

Daniels defeated The Pope

Christopher Daniels hasn’t been the same since he gave up his Fallen Angel gimmick. I don’t think he’s that effective as a wrestler any longer. The Pope is interesting, he’s fast and he’s got some skills. He’s another WWE reject, and by the looks of his timing in ring, you wouldn’t know that. In fact, he is like a lighter R Truth in this match as he was taking it to Daniels early on in the match up. Daniels couldn’t really get his offense going, and was actually having problems with The Pope’s constant follow up. Daniels looked like he was done, and it was interesting to see how daniels would fix this, and eventually he made it work, after hitting The Angel’s Wings, Daniels won this match up.

Post match, out came Suicide, so we thought, but it was none other than Homicide dressed up as Suicide, to complicate things further. The match was standard, with the only cool parts being Daniels hitting his finisher, that’s always impressive, at least to me.

Mick Foley came down to ringside to talk about random crap. He sat down on a lazy boy of sorts, had some popcorn and was talking about Abyss. Abyss came out and attacked Foley. Foley then turned on the screen to show Steven Richards look creepy behind a blonde haired woman…most likely Abyss’s girlfriend or something. This segment was just another time waster.

Abyss ran down backstage. We got back to commercial break.

Hamada defeated Alicia Flash in a falls count anywhere match

Alicia Flash and Hamada are two women’s wrestlers that impressed me previously. I think that these two women could really get some good action going, and it’s interesting to see that TNA wanted to make this a falls count anywhere match, which seems odd to me. This was like the old ECW days for sure, this match was interesting, with both women hitting some high risk moves, high spots, and making the most out of the opportunity to have this falls count anywhere match up. It really was impressive to see two women put a match on like this, considering no one really does this type of wrestling anymore. It wasn’t just a plunder filled match up, it was a well balanced wrestling match with the stipulation allowing for a little extra. Hamada hit a nice a jumping ddt on the apron, and went to the skies for the finisher! She hit a picture perfect moonsault off the top rope through a table and Alicia Flash, winning this match, wow, this match was rad. I loved it.

Lashley defeated Rhino in a stretcher match

Lashley is being called, “The Boss”, and he seemed somewhat hurt with his ribs wrapped up. Rhino was attacking Lashley mercilessly throughout the ongoing of this match up. This was also given the stipulation of being a stretcher match, and Rhino was taking advantage of the fact. He was ruthless and showing off greatness against the former WWE star. The match turned around and Lashley seemed to have forgotten about his ribs and was hitting Rhino with some hard shots. Lashley was the only one really moving the stretcher, taking control of Rhino for a good portion of the match up and eventually moving to the back of the arena. Lashley hit a huge slam on Rhino onto a Guard Rail, and I thought this was over, and it most certainly was, Lashley threw Rhino stretcher and all into an Ambulance and this match was done. This was a terrible match up…terrible.

Backstage Mick Foley had fun beating up Abyss with the help of Stevie Richards and Daffney. It was somewhat boring, but oh well, what are you going to do? We then get yet another commercial break, and it was kind of tiring to note. TNA also teased the main event…Styles and Angle, after the break. This show is way too long, and I wanted to give up on the review, but I’ve come so far….

On a sidenote, Shane McMahon just resigned from the WWE…just a quick FYI.

Kurt Angle vs Aj Styles Time Limit Draw

This match was touted as the main event, and it was started at the end of the second hour. I figured this match was going to go at least an hour, but that didn’t make a lot of sense considering that these two have a match his weekend…then I remembered; TNA Impact is taped two weeks prior to air time, so this match happened a while ago. Anyways, this match started out quite good, Angle kept trying to keep the match on the mat while Styles kept getting away from Angle and hitting some sick moves. A nice dropkick from Styles made Angle second guess his strategy, and the two went back to work with counters and simple moves to try and isolate each other. Styles seemed to get the edge early on, forcing Angle to go outside of the ring and rest, rethinking his next move before things get out of hand for him. Angle finally got the upper hand by sidestepping one of Aj Style’s over the top rope moves, and the pain was on. Angle isolated Styles with a lot of rest holds and submission attempts, and Aj styles looked out. However, Styles was able to turn things around for a moment or two, but it wasn’t enough to put away Angle. Angle kept on the pressure, turning from rest holds to high impact moves like the release German Suplex and reversing the Styles Clash as well. There were several near falls and I thought this thing was going to favor Angle, but Styles kept kicking out at around two and a half. Angle started to appear frustrated, especially after a top rope belly to belly suplex didn’t put away Styles. Styles managed to even hit the Styles Clash, but it didn’t put away Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle barely kicked out of the Styles Clash. Angle was able to hit his patented Angle Slam and Styles kicked out. This match was headed into a stale mate fast. Angle went for the top rope moonsault, but Styles moved out of the way, and was out cold. Styles hit an impressive 450 splash off a springboard, and wasn’t able to get the win, as Angle managed to muster up enough strength for a kick out. Angle put on the Ankle Lock and the bell started to ring! Angle thought he won, but nope. The time ran out That’s right, there was a time limit, and the time ran out! The referee ruled this a time limit draw! What a load of crap. I can’t believe I sat through this for nothing. This isn’t the 1980’s there shouldn’t be a time limit draw!

The rest of TNA was just build up for the ppv that’s coming up. Nothing major, no more matches and I was finally ready to call it a day, that’s for sure.

Ecw on ScyFy 10/13/09 Review

Ezeiel Jackson defeated Goldust

I think it’s a shame that in thee modern times the WWE can’t use Goldust as a main event player or at least a mid carder fighting for the championships. He could really play mind games with the likes of The Miz and others, really forcing things to be great. Remember his feud with Razor Ramon? Classic. Anyways, long gone is that and here he is wrestling Ezekiel Jackson. Goldust started his match strong, faster than the big man, and even smarter in ring as he was rolling away from most of Jackson’s onslaught of power moves. The match progressed and Ezekiel Jackson got the upper hand and he was definitely having his way with Goldust, but after a few near misses, Goldust got back into it and was giving Jackson a run for his money, including many nearfalls with his classic move set of odd offensive maneuvers. Goldust hit the Flatliner, and I thought this thing was over, but while Kozlov distracted the ref, Jackson got his revenge and hit his finisher to defeated the golden one. Jackson wins a very weird match, where Goldust carried Ezekiel Jackson, despite his jobber status.

Sheamus came out and cut a promo about how he hates Shelton Benjamin and some other random crap. I don’t like this guy, and don’t know anyone that does.

Paul Burchill defeated The Hurricane

This match, I could’ve sworn, already happened in pervious weeks. In fact, I remember seeing it before I moved from Washington to Idaho, ut oh well, such is life, I guess. It’s painfully obvious that Helms has gained some weight, he’s not in the same shape as the first time he was the Hurricane gimmick. He’s a little slower now, and his flexibility is also not what it used to be, and these things came into play with Burchill saving to slow the pace down, and looking incompetent in order to take some offense from Hurricane. Burchill has also let himself go a little, and while he’s still an effective wrestler, he is a little chunky, I’m just sayin. The match went from fast paced, high impact, to slow and boring, Burchill using a slew of rest holds to wear down both The Hurricane and his fans. Burchill kept working on Hurricane’s arm and eventually got a jackhammer in and pinned the super hero. Yep, another clean win, odd.

Christian & Yoshi Tatsu defeated Zack Ryder & William Regal

Yoshi Tatsu started this match against Zack Ryder and was looking quite good in this match up, he then tagged in Christian, and the momentum kept going forward for the good guys here. Ryder, with his spray on tan, was getting worked over by the veteran and his new friend, but the tables turned and he gained control over the ECW champion and was punishing him with some steady flurries of punches and kicks. Christian wasn’t going down though, and eventually hit his set of offense, including a baseball slide that hit Regal and Ryder at the same time, and he then followed that up with a cross body block over the top and onto both of his opponents. This prompted a commercial break.

After the break, Christian was still in control, this time Regal was the legal man, and it was the champion that was looking good in this match. Regal countered into a reverse lariat, and things were going well for him in the short term, eventually tagging in Zack Ryder, putting pressure on Christian. Tattsu at this point had not been involved in the match since the early moments, and start of the match, so things really needed to shift if the faces wanted to win. Christian got the hot tag and Yoshi mopped up with Ryder getting the brunt of the force. Yoshi’s rolling snapmare is really cool, but could be troublesome in the future. Ryder hit a sick neckbreaker, and this thing looked done. However, it wasn’t until Regal got back in that I started to doubt Christian and Tatsu’s winning ways. Regal has gained some weight again, but he’s still hitting quite hard in there, it’s interesting to see him wrestle against Tatsu, and still maintain his strong style of mat wrestling. Christian had this match sewn up after a tag, and had Zack Ryder reeling, but couldn’t quite put him away until he hit the spinning ddt, so I thought. This match was really getting good, with the standard melee going down on the outside, and Christian looking like he had this in the bag. Ryder turned on Regal and Christian got the Killswitch, winning the match up or his team!

Overall, tonight was a solid night of wrestling. I was surprised that there wasn’t a lot of talk, just a lot of wrestling. I liked it. ECW is gaining steam, but I don’t know if it can keep the momentum without repeating a lot of matches and feuds, but that’s WWE for ya, I guess.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/12/09 Review

The show started with Chris Jericho talking about how he’s the team captain for his respective team coming to the new ppv in a few weeks. He was interrupted by the new guest host, which I didn’t really recognize, that’s for sure. She said that the show wasn’t going to begin with Jericho, but would start with Degeneration X. That prompted Triple H to rundown and start the show in ring, alone. Shawn Michaels was not at Raw, and Triple H was talking somewhat bad about the whole thing. Triple H called Shawn Michaels at home and talked to him about why he wasn’t there, nothing too great, he also plugged the new Dx book.

He was interrupted by none other than Chris Jericho and The Big Show, and was talked random crap. With Triple H’s mic skills he got Jericho and Big Show exchanging verbal jabs, and it wasn’t half bad, but splitting up this team would be the last straw for the Big Show, That’s for sure. Jericho got a huge disappointment when Big Show declared that he wanted to be on Team Raw instead of Team Smackdown, and was immediately rejected by team captain, Triple H. Unless, he wrestles and wins against none other than Chris Jericho! That’s right, Chris Jericho has to wrestle Big Show, and if Big Show wins, he’ll get a slot on Team Raw for Bragging Rights, live on ppv.

The Big Show defeated Chris Jericho via countout

This match wasn’t that great. It featured Big Show beating up Jericho with ease, and Jericho showing major frustration with the big man. Eventually the fight ended up outside with Jericho and Big Show fighting against the ten count, but it was Big Show that ended up coming out on top, barely beating the ten count before it was all said and done.

Jillian defeated Mickie James for the divas championship

This match seemed thrown together, consider that I don’t know why Jillian deserves a title shot, but oh well, that’s what happens. This match was interesting, it had a standard Mickie James feel to it, with the champion hitting Jillian with some hard closed fists, and really looking like she was going to win with ease, as is the norm for the divas champion. However, Jillian managed to turn this thing around and nearly knocked out Mickie James in the corner, then with her foot on the ropes, pinned Mickie James for the divas championship belt. This thing is odd, and well, I guess Mickie James is out.

Nancy O’Dell came out and asked Jillian to stop. She also started a ne match with Melina, whom is now on Raw.

Melina defeated Jillian for the divas championship

This match was started immediately after Jillian defeated Mickie James in a matter of minutes. This match took a little time to complete, and once again, the divas title changes hands. This match was terrible, just face it, it was one of the worst matches, yet the title changes hands, again, I guess this makes the divas title legit? I don’t know. This shouldn’t even be called a match.

Backstage Hornswoggle came out dressed up as none other than Shawn Michaels! It was hilarious. It was definitely a bright spot on Raw up to that point, which was just too hilarious, and maybe it was just me that found it that way.

Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena and Randy Orton

This match was an interesting one. John Cena and The Legacy had to fight in a triple threat match, and if Legacy won, they could be on the Raw team for Bragging Rights, and if John Cena won, the legacy idiots would not be in tag team match at bragging rights. All in all, this seemed like a stupid idea, but in terms of interest, I kind of was intrigued, if only for a moment in time. Cena started this match with a flurry of offense, hitting Dibiase with his signature set of three or four moves, before Cody Rhodes jumped into get things rolling for himself and his partner. The tag team duo was putting the boots to Cena, and since it was a triple threat match up, Cena was definitely getting beat up more this time than his usual stint in the ring each week. Rhodes and Dibiase started to fight each other after the break, creating an interesting dichotomy of sorts overall. It was short lived though, as they quickly went back to work on John Cena, trying to get into that match for bragging rights. I however, found it odd that the top heel tag team would want to wrestle for “bragging rights” and not the gold, but I guess it’s a new era of wrestling, so I shouldn’t look too much into this thing. Like a comic book hero, John Cena rose from a beat down and started to take control of this match, eventually hitting a set of moves including a back drop, and then a drop toe hold with the STF coming into play. However, amidst all that out came Randy Orton, distracting Cena, and that let Cody Rhodes score a pinfall victory on Dibiase, advancing himself to the big ppv coming up in two weeks or so. This match was lame. The guest host made a match for later, involving John Cena and Randy Orton…oh man, this show is heating up for sure…or it might just be my laptop…it’s getting old.

Jack Swagger defeated MVP

I was under the impression that the WWE had finished this feud off already. However, the feud was temporarily re-opened for the greater good of the WWE fans with MVP wrestling the All American American, Jack Swagger. The two exchanged move sets, with MVP hitting his overhead suplex, and Swagger getting some good flurries in, but it seemed that MVP was in full control here even hitting he famous, non-move, “Ballin!”. Swagger was able to get up shortly afterwards and hit the Gut Wrench Powerbomb and easily defeated MVP. That’s right, Swagger beats the falling star, MVP with somewhat of an easier time than seen in the past. MVP must be in the doghouse or something.

Kofi Kingston defeated Evan Bourne

I’m going to have to apologize since I’m not even following along with the teams that are being made on the show. However, this match was a qualifying match, as was the other match (the previous one). This match should’ve been four stars, somewhat like the match that Mysterio and Evan Bourne had several months back; so I had high hopes for this one to say the least. The match overall was good, showcasing both opponents quick wits and skill. Evan Bourne, for once, looked like a natural out there, instead of just being pummeled into oblivion like he usually is. Kofi managed to get some good shots in, with some moments that made you wonder why the WWE doesn’t have a cruiserweight division any longer. Kofi’s Thunder in Paradise while Bourne jumped off the second rope was the most impressive thing I’ve seen in wrestling in a long time. Wow, this was good stuff, I wish all matches, regardless of spot fests, were this good and entertaining. I’m sorry, I like this fast paced stuff…it’s my lucha libre roots, I suppose.

Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, and Maria Menounos defeated Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox, and Eva Mendes

I admit, I hate when newcomers come into the wwe and automatically get a free ride. I also seemed to remember that there was already two other women’s matches tonight on Raw…if you could call them that. This match started out with the newcomer showing that she knows the basics of wrestling, you know, hip tosses, pinfalls, and just random easy steps. This proved to be her downfall, at lest initially as Beth Phoenix came into the match, things were looking interesting. Well, interesting for those that don’t like Beth Phoenix, as she got punked immediately and then got some good shots in on Kelly Kelly to vent her frustration. Kelly Kelly got the pinfall, and this match was faster than it should’ve been, but whatever…I won’t complain.

The Miz cut a standard heel champion promo, and it seemed like his part was just tacked on for no apparent reason.

The Legacy defeated Randy Orton & John Cena

The WWE keeps making John Cena look like the third coming of Hulk Hogan. He’s been battling handicap matches and making himself get over with ease. I’m hoping that Cena can pull a heel turn instead of this super hero motif that the wwe keeps shoving down our throats. This match was interesting to start, with Legacy picking and choosing their best shots against the former champion. Randy Orton stood on the apron for the majority of this match up. While this match was supposed to be a tag team affair, it seemed more reminiscent to a handicap match with the heels getting over most of the match up. Cena was basically floored for a lo of this mach up, easily looking like a mid 80’s wrestler, locked into a head lock for a good four to five minutes of the match, killing me and most of you other fans softly with boredom. Of course, John Cena would muscle out and Cena hit a blind tag! That’s right, Cena tagged in Orton, and now he had to face The Legacy! I didn’t know how this was going to go, but it turned out that Orton and Rhodes alongside Dibiase were playing close calls with cradles and near falls, creating a rift between the three heels. Orton got a forced tag and Cena went back to work with shoulder tackles, and his normal set ups, including the famous Five Knuckle Shuffle! Orton got a blind tag though, while Cena went for the Attitude Adjustment, Orton went to work on Cena, which let Dibiase run in and roll up Orton for a quick three count! Ted Dibiase pins Randy Orton! That’s right, Orton gets pinned by Dibiase and this match is all over.

John Cena got the last ride with the Attitude Adjustment!

John Cena will wrestle Triple H next week on Raw. Snoop Dogg will host the show, and this thing is all over.

Overall the night was ok, Raw wasn’t jaw dropping, but it’s nice to be back in full review mode. Thanks to everyone that reads, writes, comments, and actually buys anything from the amazon links. I still have no job, so please support if you can. Maybe someday I can get a full dot com for this thing, but until then, I’ll keep on trucking. I’ll be back for the ECW review, sooner than later, then TNA as well as you know…Smackdown! Oh yeah!

So it’s a great thing, here we go, my first review back, please help me out, I don’t have any money…so buy something from amazon please.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/5/09 Results

Jack Swagger defeated Primo Colon
MVP & Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters
Mickie James and her team won a divas bowl tag team match
The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship
DX defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/5/09 Review

The guest host tonight was Ben Roethlisberger, I don’t know why, but it was him…lame if you ask me.

The night began with the “diva bowl” which I immediately hated. Come on, I can’t watch for a few weeks and this is what I have to come back to? Yeah, this is stupid. Alright, all three brands had divas competing in this match up and it was interesting to see all of them in one match up, but it appeared that it wasn’t every diva; Gail Kim was the referee in this match up.

The divas bowl was a ten man tag of sorts, it was just a melee early on with all the women fighting each other and Gail Kim trying to gain control over the match up. It was really dumb, and I wasn’t sure how to follow along necessarily. Mickie James shined on this match up and even though I think she’s gained some weight, she was the one that got the pin in this match up, even though I had no idea what the teams were. So let’s just say Mickie James won the Divas Bowl.

It was a short lived celebration with Randy Orton coming out to say something or other.

We came back from a commercial break and Randy Orton was rambling about John Cena losing the WWE Championship in the cell match up. I didn’t watch the ppv, and I don’t really care so who cares, eh? Of course, these two dudes were just talking back and forth about the ppv last night. John Cena messed up in his speech, and he was proposing an Iron Man Match for the WWE TITLE! NO WAY! I will not support an IRON MAN MATCH for the WWE title, never…never! I you think that a serious Iron Man match between these two will go over well on ppv, you’re an idiot. I’m so sick of these idiots, geeez!

Jack Swagger defeated Primo Colon

Jack Swagger was impressive in this match up for sure, hitting Primo fast and hard from the beginning of the match up. Then he slowed things down to get the match a little psychology, and it was Primo that was moving forward with some offense, but was just not powerful enough for Swagger. Swagger kept getting the better of the offense in. Primo went for a nice springboard but was kicked in mid-air and then came the gut wrench powerbomb, and Swagger wins yet again. The all American American is continuing to prove he’s got some clout in regards to in his in ring skills.

Santino was involved in a nice little sketch with the divas, it was hilarious; not half bad. It was also announced that at Bragging Rights the Smackdown winners will fight the Raw winners…or something…I forget.

MVP & Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters

Mark Henry looks like the Kool Aid man, and Masters had a hard time fighting him. Mark Henry hit a huge splash and it looked like he hurt his knee legit, which would mean he’s out of here for a while. MVP ran in there and hit the ring like a house on fire, but it was Chavo and Masters that capitalized on the small red machine. Come on, MVP and Henry look like the laughing stock of wwe right now. It’s nice to see Chavo not fighting off the small wonder, and he looked a bit more aggressive than I’m used to seeing him. MVP got his second win and Mark Henry had a hard time standing, but the red guys won the match up with a quick flurry of offense. This was a short match and it did look like Mark Henry was legit injured.

Post match Guerrero and Masters started fighting each other. Hornswoggle came out and bit Masters in the leg allowing Chavo to get an upper hand. Could the two foes now be friends? It sure looks like it…or not? I don’t know. The little guy gets the last laugh, that’s for sure.

The Big Show and Chris Jericho came out to fight Big Ben, and Ben called out the offensive line of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, before anything big went down the tag team champions stepped out of the ring and left things at that. Dx came out though, and I wasn’t sure why. I was bored, I wish they had more wrestling on this show, that’s for sure.

The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston

The U.S title match was on the line in this fast paced match, not exactly the greatest match for the Miz, and Kofi Kingston was definitely making a good call out of this match. Kofi was out there fresh and mopping through some great offense against The Miz. Of course if the Miz lost he would have to get on the mic and say he’s awful. The Miz was really putting on a little more in t his match than he usually does, which was definitely nice to see, considering that we had a lot of time wasting earlier in the show. This match moved forward quite nicely and I really liked the momentum that the Miz was taking advantage of in this match up. Kofi had this match seemingly won but it was Miz that kept fighting forward and trying to win this thing, the both putting on quite the challenging performance the night after a ppv, which is rare for the wwe. Kofi’s crossbody block off the top rope was reversed but Kofi managed to get out and hit the SOS for the close two count. The Miz then managed to hit the Skull Crushing Finale, and it was all over! The Miz is the new United States champion! The King was right, “we’ll never hear the end of this!”

DX defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho

This match up wasn’t half bad. At least it didn’t start too bad, with a lot of action going back and forth between the two teams, especially considering last night’s ppv. The match drew to a stale mate towards the commercial break and we were left with The Big Show and Triple H staring each other down from opposite ends of the ring, and it was interesting to see that we had about ten minutes left in the show. This was definitely a first for me, usually the main event doesn’t start until later on in the ten o’clock hour. The match took a turn against Dx after the break and the two teams were being carried by Jericho, at least in my view. Sure Triple H and The Big Show slowed down the match some, but it was Jericho that was bringing in more emotion than the three other members of this match up. It’s a testament to how good Chris Jericho really is, with himself hitting hard, and enjoying a great motion of offense in regards to this tag match. Of course it wasn’t to be all Jericho, as Shawn Michaels got the hot tag and looked to be poised to win this thing overall. However, just like we’ve seen before Jericho was smarter than the second wind of Michaels, and got to his senses fast. Big Show came in and things started to look bad once again for the crew in DX. Jericho and Show were wrestling like well oiled machines, fighting off the DX guys with ease at a lot of points in this match up. This match really had the crowd going, but Jericho was the standout, regardless of his bad guy persona. The Big Show and Michaels were the last two remaining when the dust settled in this match up and it really got the crowd moving! Triple H got the hot tag, as is custom, and was really moving fast for a change. Jericho was not going to lay down with the night going over the eleven o'clock hour, and things were really going nuts, a melee ensued but it was Triple H with a sweet spine buster and set up for the Pedigree that made me think that DX could take this match's finale. The Big Show was not settling for the traditional, and he managed to get Triple H and Michaels down, but man, this match kept going back and forth and I couldn't really call the ending, even though I kind of knew what was bound to happen. To isolate Chris Jericho, DX threw Big Show over the guard rail and this was where business was about to pick up for sure! Chris Jericho found himself against DX and wanted to walk away, but out came the starting line of the Steelers! Jericho was then forced back to the ring by DX and boy was this a crowd pleaser! Sweet Chin music was hit and Triple H got the cover for the win, and DX gets the pin, the crowd goes nuts, and i'm back for a review!
