I’m back with full scheduled reviews. I have a dvr, and cable and will be doing reviews at normal speed. I am still looking for a job and hoping to land something sooner than later, In the meantime, I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m in action and back to somewhat a normal schedule of reviews.
WWE Monday Night Raw 10/12/09 Results
The Big Show defeated Chris Jericho via countout

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/12/09 Review
The show started with Chris Jericho talking about how he’s the team captain for his respective team coming to the new ppv in a few weeks. He was interrupted by the new guest host, which I didn’t really recognize, that’s for sure. She said that the show wasn’t going to begin with Jericho, but would start with Degeneration X. That prompted Triple H to rundown and start the show in ring, alone. Shawn Michaels was not at Raw, and Triple H was talking somewhat bad about the whole thing. Triple H called Shawn Michaels at home and talked to him about why he wasn’t there, nothing too great, he also plugged the new Dx book.
He was interrupted by none other than Chris Jericho and The Big Show, and was talked random crap. With Triple H’s mic skills he got Jericho and Big Show exchanging verbal jabs, and it wasn’t half bad, but splitting up this team would be the last straw for the Big Show, That’s for sure. Jericho got a huge disappointment when Big Show declared that he wanted to be on Team Raw instead of Team Smackdown, and was immediately rejected by team captain, Triple H. Unless, he wrestles and wins against none other than Chris Jericho! That’s right, Chris Jericho has to wrestle Big Show, and if Big Show wins, he’ll get a slot on Team Raw for Bragging Rights, live on ppv.
The Big Show defeated Chris Jericho via countout
This match wasn’t that great. It featured Big Show beating up Jericho with ease, and Jericho showing major frustration with the big man. Eventually the fight ended up outside with Jericho and Big Show fighting against the ten count, but it was Big Show that ended up coming out on top, barely beating the ten count before it was all said and done.
Jillian defeated Mickie James for the divas championship
This match seemed thrown together, consider that I don’t know why Jillian deserves a title shot, but oh well, that’s what happens. This match was interesting, it had a standard Mickie James feel to it, with the champion hitting Jillian with some hard closed fists, and really looking like she was going to win with ease, as is the norm for the divas champion. However, Jillian managed to turn this thing around and nearly knocked out Mickie James in the corner, then with her foot on the ropes, pinned Mickie James for the divas championship belt. This thing is odd, and well, I guess Mickie James is out.
Nancy O’Dell came out and asked Jillian to stop. She also started a ne match with Melina, whom is now on Raw.

This match was started immediately after Jillian defeated Mickie James in a matter of minutes. This match took a little time to complete, and once again, the divas title changes hands. This match was terrible, just face it, it was one of the worst matches, yet the title changes hands, again, I guess this makes the divas title legit? I don’t know. This shouldn’t even be called a match.
Backstage Hornswoggle came out dressed up as none other than Shawn Michaels! It was hilarious. It was definitely a bright spot on Raw up to that point, which was just too hilarious, and maybe it was just me that found it that way.
Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena and Randy Orton
This match was an interesting one. John Cena and The Legacy had to fight in a triple threat match, and if Legacy won, they could be on the Raw team for Bragging Rights, and if John Cena won, the legacy idiots would not be in tag team match at bragging rights. All in all, this seemed like a stupid idea, but in terms of interest, I kind of was intrigued, if only for a moment in time. Cena started this match with a flurry of offense, hitting Dibiase with his signature set of three or four moves, before Cody Rhodes jumped into get things rolling for himself and his partner. The tag team duo was putting the boots to Cena, and since it was a triple threat match up, Cena was definitely getting beat up more this time than his usual stint in the ring each week. Rhodes and Dibiase started to fight each other after the break, creating an interesting dichotomy of sorts overall. It was short lived though, as they quickly went back to work on John Cena, trying to get into that match for bragging rights. I however, found it odd that the top heel tag team would want to wrestle for “bragging rights” and not the gold, but I guess it’s a new era of wrestling, so I shouldn’t look too much into this thing. Like a comic book hero, John Cena rose from a beat down and started to take control of this match, eventually hitting a set of moves including a back drop, and then a drop toe hold with the STF coming into play. However, amidst all that out came Randy Orton, distracting Cena, and that let Cody Rhodes score a pinfall victory on Dibiase, advancing himself to the big ppv coming up in two weeks or so. This match was lame. The guest host made a match for later, involving John Cena and Randy Orton…oh man, this show is heating up for sure…or it might just be my laptop…it’s getting old.
Jack Swagger defeated MVP
I was under the impression that the WWE had finished this feud off already. However, the feud was temporarily re-opened for the greater good of the WWE fans with MVP wrestling the All American American, Jack Swagger. The two exchanged move sets, with MVP hitting his overhead suplex, and Swagger getting some good flurries in, but it seemed that MVP was in full control here even hitting he famous, non-move, “Ballin!”. Swagger was able to get up shortly afterwards and hit the Gut Wrench Powerbomb and easily defeated MVP. That’s right, Swagger beats the falling star, MVP with somewhat of an easier time than seen in the past. MVP must be in the doghouse or something.
Kofi Kingston defeated Evan Bourne
I’m going to have to apologize since I’m not even following along with the teams that are being made on the show. However, this match was a qualifying match, as was the other match (the previous one). This match should’ve been four stars, somewhat like the match that Mysterio and Evan Bourne had several months back; so I had high hopes for this one to say the least. The match overall was good, showcasing both opponents quick wits and skill. Evan Bourne, for once, looked like a natural out there, instead of just being pummeled into oblivion like he usually is. Kofi managed to get some good shots in, with some moments that made you wonder why the WWE doesn’t have a cruiserweight division any longer. Kofi’s Thunder in Paradise while Bourne jumped off the second rope was the most impressive thing I’ve seen in wrestling in a long time. Wow, this was good stuff, I wish all matches, regardless of spot fests, were this good and entertaining. I’m sorry, I like this fast paced stuff…it’s my lucha libre roots, I suppose.

I admit, I hate when newcomers come into the wwe and automatically get a free ride. I also seemed to remember that there was already two other women’s matches tonight on Raw…if you could call them that. This match started out with the newcomer showing that she knows the basics of wrestling, you know, hip tosses, pinfalls, and just random easy steps. This proved to be her downfall, at lest initially as Beth Phoenix came into the match, things were looking interesting. Well, interesting for those that don’t like Beth Phoenix, as she got punked immediately and then got some good shots in on Kelly Kelly to vent her frustration. Kelly Kelly got the pinfall, and this match was faster than it should’ve been, but whatever…I won’t complain.
The Miz cut a standard heel champion promo, and it seemed like his part was just tacked on for no apparent reason.
The Legacy defeated Randy Orton & John Cena
The WWE keeps making John Cena look like the third coming of Hulk Hogan. He’s been battling handicap matches and making himself get over with ease. I’m hoping that Cena can pull a heel turn instead of this super hero motif that the wwe keeps shoving down our throats. This match was interesting to start, with Legacy picking and choosing their best shots against the former champion. Randy Orton stood on the apron for the majority of this match up. While this match was supposed to be a tag team affair, it seemed more reminiscent to a handicap match with the heels getting over most of the match up. Cena was basically floored for a lo of this mach up, easily looking like a mid 80’s wrestler, locked into a head lock for a good four to five minutes of the match, killing me and most of you other fans softly with boredom. Of course, John Cena would muscle out and Cena hit a blind tag! That’s right, Cena tagged in Orton, and now he had to face The Legacy! I didn’t know how this was going to go, but it turned out that Orton and Rhodes alongside Dibiase were playing close calls with cradles and near falls, creating a rift between the three heels. Orton got a forced tag and Cena went back to work with shoulder tackles, and his normal set ups, including the famous Five Knuckle Shuffle! Orton got a blind tag though, while Cena went for the Attitude Adjustment, Orton went to work on Cena, which let Dibiase run in and roll up Orton for a quick three count! Ted Dibiase pins Randy Orton! That’s right, Orton gets pinned by Dibiase and this match is all over.
John Cena got the last ride with the Attitude Adjustment!
John Cena will wrestle Triple H next week on Raw. Snoop Dogg will host the show, and this thing is all over.
Overall the night was ok, Raw wasn’t jaw dropping, but it’s nice to be back in full review mode. Thanks to everyone that reads, writes, comments, and actually buys anything from the amazon links. I still have no job, so please support if you can. Maybe someday I can get a full dot com for this thing, but until then, I’ll keep on trucking. I’ll be back for the ECW review, sooner than later, then TNA as well as you know…Smackdown! Oh yeah!
