Cesaro came out and discussed the match from last night.
Here we go, the results and review of Monday Night Raw from 5/3/2016, HULU edition, since I don’t have cable.
Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro went to a no contest
This was a fun match to watch, but things tore down after The Miz jumped in to interfere. That brought out Sami Zayn as well and everyone brawled. This was supposed to showcase the number one contender for the Intercontentinal Title, but alas, no one was pickeed since the match got thrown out. Up until the interference, Cesaro had Owens’ number, it was grand. He truly is the Swiss Superman!
The New Day showed up which prompted The Vaudevillains to come out, as well as the Dudleys to cut promos. Amidst all of this, out came Big Cass, and the teams brawled. Enzo of course is recovering thanks to that concussion he suffered at the PPV, and then we get a commercial. BS.
This turned into a Teddy Long classic, Straight UP eight man tag match!
Big Cass and The New Day defeated The Dudley’s and The Vaudevillains
This was a great overall tag match, lots of back and forth action, good overall timing. Big Cass really made the difference here, and the crowd was all over the match. The New Day was crisp, The Dudleys and Vaudevillains did some great work, but it’s Big Cass that gets the feel good pin after the East River Crossing, no complaints here.
So all the SMARK websites were wrong. Jericho showed up to reclaim the hosting duties of the Highlight Reel! The Ambrose Asylum was cancelled by Stephanie McMahon, simple as that. Raw, even in the 90 minute run down is perhaps one of the most boring 90 minutes of the week. This is a terrible show so far. Dean Ambrose and Jericho fought each other, I don’t care, you don’t care, let’s get a sandwich. Jericho hit Ambrose with “mitch” and that was that.
Rusev won a battle royal to determine the Number 1 Contender For The U.S. Title
This was ok, but honestly, I’m tired of seeing the “big man” versus “small man” matches Kalisto gets stuck in. Oh well. Word on the street is that Ryback was sent home, maybe even fired. The final four included The League of Nations, which was a nice touch, but it was all over when Zack Ryder got thrown out after a nice comeback. That’s the end, oh well. I wouldn’t doubt if Rusev wins the title again, and then goes on a tear as the U.S. Champion. Or maybe John Cena will come back and get the title and do those open challenges, which were a blast to see.
Natalya interrupted Ric and Charlotte Flair after they boasted about Little Naich screwing over Natalya. Natalya put Ric in a sharpshooter, and later it was announced that the two will wrestle in a submission match for the Women’s Championship.
Now, where are the other women? What happened to the “diva’s revolution”, is the division just 2 women? If you’re watching the HULU feed, yep. Just 2 women.
Aj Styles and The Bullet Club defeated Roman Reigns and The Usos
This wasn’t half bad. Lots of action, great overall back and forth, but the real story was at the end. The Bullet Club wanted Aj to hit Reigns with a chair, but he wouldn’t do it. However, the Usos took advantage and that allowed Reigns to beat down Styles. Not half bad, not great, it seems like Raw is back to business.
