WWE No Mercy 2017 Results and Review

WWE No Mercy 2017 - SRC WWE dot com
WWE No Mercy 2017 was in Los Angeles this past Sunday, and I was watching it live on the WWE Network. I wanted to be in Los Angeles for this, but I blew my proverbial load on going to Las Vegas and Spokane earlier this year. That was a fun trip, and I loved the experience, but here I was stuck without being able to fly out. It doesn’t matter, though. WWE No Mercy came through with some epic matches, but honestly, it wasn’t that grand overall. But there were a few notes to consider.

WWE No Mercy 2017 Results and Review

Elias defeated Apollo Crews

This match started the show, and it wasn’t that bad. Elias is a big guy, and Apollo is so athletic, that these guys put on a good match. Elias definitely has something going for himself. Apollo is a classic character, but he’s floundering with a lackluster crowd out there. Elias gets the win here, and I will walk with Elias any time!

The Miz defeated Jason Jordan

The Los Angeles crowd loved The Miz. The Miz really gave Jason Jordan a good match, and the two were definitely grand overall. It was a fun overall match with Jordan throwing a lot of weight around. The Miz was able to get the win with outside interference, and I liked that a lot. Miz winning garnered a huge pop from the crowd.

Finn Balor defeated Bray Wyatt

Balor had the worst outfit on. I couldn’t stop laughing at it. Wyatt eats another pin. Are you surprised? This match wasn’t that bad, but it also wasn’t that good. Wyatt threw down some great offense, but Balor wins again, and now I hope he can move on to something else. He should be challenging for the title he never lost.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Cesaro and Sheamus

Another classic match from these guys. Cesaro was able to throw in a great deal of offense, and spots that looked amazing. Cesaro knocked out two teeth at one point, and Ambrose looked to have messed up his shoulder at one point. The match was fun, fast paced, hard hitting, and just made sense a lot. There was a lot of story telling here, and I loved it. This was the best match of the night if you ask me. Great back and forth, and lots of fans going nuts.

Alexa Bliss defeated Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax, and Emma

Alexa Bliss wins! I’m a fan, and while the rest of the girls put on a good show, they didn’t get the win here. Bliss won with her DDT, and the women really teamed up to take out Nia Jax. Bayley and Sasha worked together for a while, then split up for a moment, and Emma was just getting beat up a lot. Nia Jax took some incredible bumps in this match, and it was awesome.

Roman Reigns defeated John Cena

Wow. Just wow. Cena threw every single thing at Roman Reigns. 4 Attitude Adjustments, Reigns took everything and he still kicked out. Roman Reigns hit the super man punch and a spear, and it was over. Roman Reigns gets credit here for taking everything and the kitchen sink from Cena. Also, for almost breaking his neck spearing Cena through a table. This was great, and the two worked well together. Roman Reigns won clean, in the middle, and that was that. Cena looked to be retiring much like he did in May, but that was the end of this match.

Enzo Amore defeated Neville to Win The WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Neville beat the hell out of Enzo. This match was swift, and after some time, a kick to the nuts garnered Enzo the big win and the title. I kid you not. I’m not sure what’s going on with the Cruiserweights, but this should make for an interesting 205 Live this week, right? Neville deserves better.

Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman

This was not a great match, it was slow and lumbering. But I will give Brock credit for taking a lot of offense. Braun Strowman gave him a decent offering, and Lesnar seemed to be in trouble several times, before Braun Strowman hit many powerslams, but they weren’t enough. Lesnar hit an F5 and then pinned him, and that was it. He cleanly won, and The Monster was defeated. Sigh. Lesnar phones it in. I’m so sick of this guy. A part timer is the champion? Ugh. So boring.

WWE Summerslam 2013 Review

I have been walking around for 2 years with a shirt from Summerslam 2013. I bought it at Hot Topic. It was advertising The Beast vs. The Best from Summerslam 2013. I didn’t see the show, and only knew minimal about it. That is until yesterday. I finally sat down and watched the event, and wanted to review it for this site. I was impressed with certain aspects, but others were boring as usual. Knowing only a few things about the show, I entered in with a fresh mind, and really was amazed at some of the moments. Here is my take on the event. (Note I didn’t get the preshow)

Bray Wyatt defeated Kane in a Ring of Fire Match

This wasn’t as exciting as I would have hoped. When the first ever Ring of Fire match was put together for the Undertaker and Kane, we all thought it was a fresh idea. However, it’s actually a boring concept. This match was ok and Wyatt’s win must have been nice at the time, I didn’t care for it though.

Cody Rhodes defeated Damien Sandow

Sandow lost this one, and it was an ok battle for a few minutes. It only lasted about 6 minutes, and it had a predictable finish. I didn’t like these two when they were together and didn’t like this blow off match either.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Christian in a World Heavyweight Championship Match

This match was ok at best. I loved Del Rio’s persona when he first came in. However, I don’t like his in ring work with Christian. Christian was on his way out here, and while he’s a stellar talent, I relegate him to tag team work with Edge not a solo act. That’s just my opinion though.

Natalya defeated Brie Bella

A five minute throw away match. I got bored fast, and while I think these two can throw something better together, the crowd seemed dead, and I was not a fan. Still not a fan.

Brock Lesnar defeated CM Punk

Now this is the match that stole the show. I was absolutely impressed with the delivery of this match. Punk threw everything but the kitchen sink at Lesnar, and it was believable that he could beat the giant. Lesnar on the other hand is an absolute beast. I truly believe that Punk took a serious beating here. You can see lacerations on his back, you can see swelling on his face, as well as Lesnars. This was by far one of the hardest matches I’ve seen from Lesnar thus far. Punk is one tough kid and you can hear Lesnar on screen say it to Heyman. Even though Punk loses this epic, he is made strong in how he is laid out. You can see that Punk is pissed with WWE creative here, especially when they play his music after he’s lost a match. The crowd was all over this match and I am saying that this was match of the year 2013. I think this is an example of how great Punk is. He made Lesnar nearly tap at one point, I loved it.

Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn defeated Big E and AJ Lee

Another boring match. AJ Lee is over rated.

Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena in a WWE Title Match w/ Triple H as Referee

Now this was another great match. However, it didn’t top CM Punk and Lesnar. This match had very good in ring psychology. Cena is on point here, and Bryan throws everything he has against the champion. The fact that Cena blocks a great deal of Bryan’s moves shows that there’s a lot of thought given to this match. Bryan’s win is great, but it’s what happens next that truly got the crowd in a mood.

Randy Orton cashes in money in the bank.

Orton beats Bryan, and that was the end of Bryan’s world title run.

Summerslam 2013 is well worth watching for 2 big matches. CM Punk should have been given a billion dollars here. Lesnar does a great deal of work too, but wow, Punk showcases the absolutely brilliance of his on screen character and real life toughness. John Cena and Bryan tore the house down as well, but is edged out by Punk’s absolutely brilliant performance. I can’t wait to see him in UFC.

If you want to check this mess out, you should BUY THE SUMMERSLAM 2013 BLU RAY HERE. You can pick it up cheap and dissect the Punk vs. Lesnar match. There should’ve been a sequel, that’s for sure.
