Worst Wrestlemania Ever

Wrestlemania 24 was hyped for a huge amount of time, and it didn’t live up to the history. However, there was some high points and some low points, and overall things worked out in the end.

The wwe title match was really boring. No blood, no guts, no glory, with Cena & HHH bowing down to Randy Orton in an odd ending that left everything really open. It was a slow match, and really poorly booked effort, and ridiculous.

The Undertaker taking the crown was nice, and worth the effort. Edge put up a great fight, but he couldn’t make it.

The divas match was horrible, Chavo losing to Kane in 8 seconds was really lame.

The JBL match with Finlay could’ve been so much more and was really lackluster.

The money in the bank match was really longwinded and boring; it looked like the wrestlers weren’t really into trying very hard.

Batista vs. Umaga was horrible too and it proved nothing at all.

It wasn't the worst ever, but it wasn't that good either. There was a lack of enthusiasm all over. The crowd was even dead during key moments, and overall...the main event was the only great thing about this years Wrestlemania.

Mark Henry's Massive Push

Am I the only one worried about Mark Henry? Seriously, Mark Henry is getting a serious push heading into WWE's Wrestlemania this weekend, and I'm starting to get worried. Recently on Smackdown, Mark Henry beat down Kane & Great Khali on the road to winning a special over the top rope battle royal preview match.

This is horrible!

After the major beatdown, Mizark Henry followed up by beating down Chavo Guerrero.

I'm not sure if this is the WWE's way of setting up Mark Henry for the fall, but I for one do NOT under any circumstances want to see Mark Henry get any kind of push.

Don't you remember just a few weeks ago, he was jobbing to every major wrestler? He was losing in under five minutes!

Now he's the dominate force on Smackdown, and is headed for an ECW championship reign?

I sure hope not.

Watch out for Mark Henry, he looks like the next ECW champion...hopefully something gets in his way.

Wrestlemania is this weekend, get it, or be left out. I'm ordering it, that's for sure.

Sid Returns At Wrestlemania 24

Sid Vicious wanted to come back to WWE, and now people are talking all over the internet, that He's coming back at Wrestlemania 24.

Is he really?

I'm not sure, but if Sid Vicious comes out of the curtain, and screws over The Underatker for Edge, I will be jumping out of my chair, and screaming at the top of my lungs.

Sid's last run in professional wrestling was ended due to an extreme injury at a live ppv. One must wonder if Sid's leg can handle the rigors of professional wrestling at this age. However, he has been tearing up the independent scene, and is in great shape.

Remember the last feud he had in WWE? Well, maybe not the absolute last one, but he definitely fought off Bret Hart, who was trying to get his WWE title back at the time (97) and he lost to Undertaker at Wrestlemania 13. So could this be setting up the Undertaker for a dive?

Or is Chavo Guerrero in for a rude awakening this weekend?

I could see Sid in ECW....in fact what if the scenario happens the way it played out in ECW below....

Whatever the case is, SID is awesome!

Raw Is Crap

You would think that the last Raw before Wrestlemania would be a major event!

Nope.

It wasn't that good.

Flair putting the figure four on Orton was definitely a highlight for me, but overall the show just didn't feel that sense of urgency that previous wrestlemania raw's had.

Seriously, what's wrong with the WWE?

Why isn't the back going nuts? Why aren't people fist fighting in street clothes, itching to get to Wrestlemania?

Why isn't there any excitement?

Wrestlemania's build up is terrible.

Konnan's War Against TNA

I've written extensively about Konnan's war against TNA. But in recent news, another bullet is being loaded into the revolver of Konnan's gun, as he prepares to file a 7 million dollar discrimination lawsuit against his former employer; TNA.

This is going to be fantastic, if you ask me.

How much is TNA Worth right now?

How much is TNA losing in salaries?

TNA with all it's might, can not produce a rating that is remotely close to any of the WWE mainstream shows. If you count ECW, then you are wrong, as they match ECW on most occasions, and anyone who tries to cite a war between WWE and TNA is sadly mistaken.

Konnan, from what I know, is not a poor man. He's got some major pull in Lucha Libre and last time I saw him in Los Angeles a few years back, he didn't look like a shell of his former self yet, and was still drawing a lot of fan fare.

In fact, according to wrestlinginc.com

....although a lawsuit is definitely in the works, the only thing Konnan's lawyer Cary Ichter has filed so far is a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Atlanta, Georgia. They have given TNA 30 days to respond to the complaint before moving forward with the $7 million lawsuit.

So there you have it. What can TNA really do to protect itself from making Konnan a richer wrestler?

Can TNA even salvage the relationship?

I for one hated how they wouldn't spring for his kidney operation. 7 Million? I say take more man, take all you can...

Then again, maybe I'm just being mean for no reason. I'm not sure what all the details are, but this war with TNA is not going to end with Konnan shutting up, that's for sure.

Smackdown Review 3/21/08

Y2J and MVP did a great job hyping a match for next week. I'm actually excited about the match up. I hope wwe continues to push those two on the mic, because they are really good together, and MVP, despite his outfit, is actually really good.

Chavo getting beat down by the Undertaker was lame. I thought for sure Edge was going to save him.

The Tag-titles around miz and morrison makes me mad. BUt I don't want them to go to the glorified jobbers in Jesse and Festus...we need a real team.

No Vickie Guerrero, which was nice.

Wasn't Mark Henry the resident big-man Jobber? At least that's what I thought. He would be called in whenever Batista or Undertaker needed a quick loss. As a matter of fact Mark Henry's "monster" record is really looking like the worst win/loss record in professional wrestling today. Seriously, Mark Henry is a horrible heel...

but for some reason on Smackdown, Mark Henry got his second wind, and obliterated the ring of guys in the Wrestlemania battle royal. I haven't seen Henry so dominant in a long time.

Is Henry going to be turning over a new leaf?

I sure hope not, that guy is so slow. He has like 2 moves, and then he has the overdrive mode where he injures whoever needs to get surgery..aka...Rey Mysterio etc.

Smackdown was really cool, but come on...Henry?

Batista mopping up a real tag-team made me upset too. I still believe wwe hates tag teams.

No sign of Matt Hardy. The divas arm wrestling was stupid. They aren't even eye candy to me.

Overall Smackdown was good, and I enjoyed it, however, I'm concerned over the future of Mark Henry's involvement on the show. I hope he loses at Wrestlemania, or he gets injured, because I can't stand him coming back and dominating the roster like he did on Smackdown.

Chavo Is A Dead Man

The WWE announced today that Chavo Guerrero will square off against the Dead Man, The Undertaker, this Friday night on Smackdown. I for one am fearing for Chavo's life (figuratively). There is no way out for Chavo.

Or is there?

Chavo Guerrero is aligned with Edge and Vickie, so will the match turn into a handicap match with Edge getting involved? Or will Chavo pick up a win thanks to interference?

I'm not sure, but I do know one thing: Chavo Guerrero is going to have his hands full this friday night on Smackdown!

Sir Jorge's WWE Mail Bag Vol. 1

I get comments on this site every now and again, and sometimes I never go back to them. But to somehow encourage more comments, I’m going to start replying to them, in post.

Pandora’s chest writes:

“Hiya Jorge!

I agree with you on tag teams and cruiserweights as well. Any idea where Psicosis went? Super Crazy's around jobbing, but his partner's gone too. London and Kendrick are both a blast to watch but without the synergy of a tag team it's tough going for guys their size.

I don't get it--some of the most fun matches I've ever seen have been tag matches, cruiserweights and luchadors back in the WCW days when they were bringing up guys like Super Calo (aka Super Crazy? I'm never sure that's him because Calo was masked), Psicosis, Juvi, Los Villanos... I could go all night listing awesome wrestlers that today don't get a second look, like Vampiro Canadiense, but you've heard me babble on that before so I'll quit hijacking your comments and just say, "awesome post".”

First of all, thank you for all the comments in the past, I appreciate you reading this blog of mine, and it’s great to see other people that like professional wrestling, and who know a lot about pro-wrestling past, present and future.

Psichosis is in Mexico, enjoying some nice paydays. Psichosis and Juventud Guerrera were let go by the WWE because they just don’t like their styles.

From what I know, the WWE hates high-spots and Lucha Libre style moves. They feel that it endangers their wrestlers far beyond normal, and when Juventud deliberately disobeyed WWE’s policy in regards to what can be performed in ring, he was immediately fired. Same goes with Psichosis.

Luchadors are crippled by the standards of WWE’s in ring policies.

Super Calo was not Psichosis. If you recall, Psichosis had a great run in WCW feuding with the cruiserweight champions a bunch. Calo is seen every now and again in Mexico, and enjoys a long running jobber role. He’s older, so he’s not exactly getting as much coverage. Some of his WCW matches are legendary, although no one seems to remember them.

Vampiro is really old, and tired. He couldn’t hack it right now, in my opinion. He’s got a documentary coming out sooner than later. Last I heard he was in Mexico, fighting crime.

Keep the comments coming, I appreciate the readers.

I’ll keep posting of course. I love pro-wrestling.

Just for your awesome comments, here's a match from 1998 featuring Super Calo:

Further Proof that WWE Hates Tag Teams

Last night people were treated to a very interesting Raw at times. But it needs to be mentioned that the WWE has further put a nail in the coffin of the tag team division. When's the last time the WWE allowed for a tag team to last more than a few years? When's the last time the WWE returned to the glory days of tag team championship wrestling?

Even the WCW, with all its faults and stupidity, allowed long running tag teams to stay together for the purpose of promoting the division as a viable way to make money and promote other wrestlers. Teams like Public Enemy, The Nasty Boys, The Outsiders, and many more stuck it out for a long period of time before breaking up. They made major impacts in their respective division.

The WWE of old had The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Brainbusters, Strike Force, The Pan-Am Connection, and so many more tag teams that went through with pride to hold the belts.

Recently, the WWE has broken up major tag teams to make more single wrestling money with them chasing the glory of singles titles. Most of them are gone now...none of them sticking to the longevity promised to them as a single's competitor. Let's check in on how these break ups have shaped the current world of wrestling:

Billy & Chuck Split Up:
They were the gay innuendo twins, but they were a solid tag team and were making major waves, even garnering major pop's around the nation, regardless of their stereotypical pushing of the envelope. This team was solid, and had a manager with enough knowledge to keep things flowing well together. The break up came after a botched wedding ceremony, and media push. The two went separate ways. Chuck is now "undertaker lite" and Billy is in TNA. The singles push after the split did nothing to further their careers, and only one of them is still active in the WWE...not exactly a thrill.

The Spirit Squad: The most annoying set up, gave us some memorable moments. We all wanted to see the squad get their butts kicked, but at the end of the day, things fell apart and we saw Kenny rise out of the ashes. Where is he now? Not exactly the main event star that J.R. was creaming over is he?

The Hart Foundation: One of my favorite tag teams growing up, split up due to injury on the Anvil, and things were never the same with the tag team. Bret Hart went on to win the world title several times, and became one of the best wrestlers of all time! The Anvil? He went to WCW and had a mediocre career afterwards.

The British Bulldogs: What a powerhouse team full of energy and great mat technique. One was confined to a wheelchair, the other is no longer with us. What a career huh? The latter never even gained a world title, and his push in WCW was but a whimper in time. Though he did main event several ppv's, he never captured the gold. Sadly, he is no longer with us.

Edge and Christian: The two Canadians made a race for the titles and made things very interesting for the tag division in the late 90's with heroic efforts in ladder matches and high spots heard round the world. The two split up and Edge went on to be the world champion in wwe, meanwhile Christian floundered, never got a main event spot in WWE and went to TNA to get the main event spot. Christian and Edge still wrestle in the main showcases of each company, but we can all say that Christian had a hard time getting to the main event spot. The last time I saw him in WWE was Smackdown taping in Los Angeles, and then he was gone. TNA's ratings have never gone up beyond ECW's show on Sci-Fi, so you can see that there's not much hope there.

The Hardy Boys: The Hardy Boys were forever the butt of the joke of any new wrestler starting out for the WWE. Those guys got worked on many occasions, and then one night they shocked the world winning the World Tag Team Titles. They were split into single entities and pushed towards separate roads. Jeff had to sit back and watch Matt get prime time feuds with the likes of Edge and others, until he got injured. Then Jeff took a major push, only to be hindered by the latest suspension due to drugs. The hardy boys did make a couple of comebacks, but never really made it back to the tag team division in a major way.

The Dudley Boys: The Dudleys were a major tag team together, then the original roster split occurred when WCW and ECW were bought by WWE. They went separate ways and neither did well as a singles wrestler. One might argue that Bubba Ray Dudley got a push, but it was short lived to say the least.

Strike Force: The first time I remember the break up story line occurred. Tito Santana floundered after this break up, meanwhile Rick Martel became The Model Rick Martel and had a good solid run through the mid 90's paving the way for Razor Ramon to get into the spotlight on Raw, and the intercontinental title.

Last night on Raw, history repeated itself and the WWE made the first moves to separate Kendrick and London. If they follow through with this, I do not see a viable singles career for either one.

Do You?

Consider the smaller wrestlers in WWE for a moment.

Where is the Cruiserweight title?

Exactly.

WWE hates tag teams for some reason.

Jeff Hardy's House Burns Down...So What

Just a quick note, Jeff Hardy's house burned down.

So what!

The guy is not a poor 9 to 5 worker, like me, and he got caught doing drugs.

Why should I care?

How better to get back on the good side with fans, then to get sympathy.

Is there a conspiracy afoot?

I'm not sure if this is a scheme or not, but it sounds fishy to me....that's all.

Smackdown rocked, I liked it. More content coming...for now, I'm going to watch the Stone Cold Dvd.

Jeff Hardy's On Drugs, Loses to Chris Jericho

Jeff Hardy took a major shot today, as the media blitz continues, allowing him no room to breathe. The WWE has suspended Hardy for 60 days! This is his second infraction with the wellness program, proving that he was on drugs. What drugs? No one is really talking about that part, but that would be the reasons why he lost the title last night on Raw to Chris Jericho.

How long did the WWE know that he had a drug problem though?

Last week, it appeared that the match for this week was set up, and this Monday Night, apparently the backstage area knew about the suspension, and although all these factors played out during the Raw event, the fan base was fully behind Y2J.

Did the WWE purposely let Y2J chants reign supreme last night? Or was the crowd really that hot for the former WWE champion to get a title!

Whatever the case was, the match went off well.

Overall, the show was good, however there were some harsh tones.

I didn't enjoy the Finlay, Kennedy situation, ruining any credibility that Kennedy had as a wrestler. He's NOT a jobber, but what must be done, must be done.

The rest of Raw just seemed like garbage to me somehow.

The title change was a great surprise to me, and even though I had read a lot of rumors, the suspension and drug use of Hardy came as a surprise to me.

We'll see what the WWE is going to do with the extra spot in Money In The Bank, as well as the intercontinental championship, which is now boosted to credible levels with Y2J at the helm!

Cena Sucks Orton Sucks Triple H Sucks

I was watching Raw last night and it hit me...all three of the main eventers are horrible. I've debated this point with myself all morning and it turns out that the three contestants trying to get away with a win at Wrestlemania are lacking a certain aspect that garners them transitional champions at best, regardless of their longevity with the championship.

John Cena is boring. I'm tired of hearing him try to tug on the kids little hearts, and although I know wwe is a business and that money is their number one goal, I don't believe that Cena can maintain any sort of credibility as a performer as a face. He needs a heel turn, and he needs one quickly. If he pulled a "why cena why" angle, he'd be perfect, and let him make fun of people already, I want him to rap again! As it stands, the "safe" cena is not doing well, shake things up and I'll pay attention.

Triple H is resting on his laurels. He's got a legacy of good matches, but in this three way dance of sorts, he's not doing so well in my opinion. He's just not pulling his weight. He should rightfully be facing Orton at Wrestlemania, not Cena, as Cena had his chance at No Way Out.

Orton is young, he's easily hated, but he lacks charisma to move me. He can be a monster heel if he would just let Triple H and Cena battle each other. What purpose does Orton serve as champion if he can't just sit back and be the coward? The cowardly heel champion that steps up his game at the ppv is what WWE needs right now. Not this heel champion that talks big, and then comes in to RKO the contenders.

Overall the main event scene on Raw is not shaping up to be good at all.

Raw has also tarnished my opinion of Y2J in recent months. His lackluster return aside, Y2J is now a joke.

I did remember saying that Hardy was being set up for a fall, I still think He is not going to aspire to much, I hope I'm wrong.

I'll still get Wrestlemania, but am not looking forward to this half-hearted title match.
