WWE Monday Night Raw January 1, 2018 Results and Review

Instead of joining the New Year with a full 3 hours of Raw, I’m going to be reviewing the HULU edition. Why? Because I read the results, and I don’t want to see 9 hours of Raw. That’s a joke, but if you’re suffering through the full show, then I feel bad for you. It’s a ridiculous amount of talking, and not wrestling. Then again, here’s the 90 minute version and I nearly fell asleep at the end with Paul Heyman and the part time jobber of a champion Brock Lesnar. With that in mind, let’s talk about Monday Night Raw.

WWE Monday Night Raw January 1, 2017 Results and Review

The night opened up with Kurt Angle talking about the Women’s Royal Rumble, and it was basic. I already know the rules. It’s dumb.

Jason Jordan defeated Cesaro

The Bar came out to confront Kurt Angle, and then demanded a title match. He didn’t give them one. Instead, he put in Jason Jordan versus Cesaro, and that wasn’t half bad. It was ok. Jordan is a good wrestler, but I don’t’ want to see him wrestle, let alone defeating Cesaro. This is dumb. It’s lame. Cesaro can’t even defeat Jason Jordan? Wow. Story line wise this is stupid, the match was ok, but wow, the WWE really loves Jason Jordan, and yet I don’t.

Bray Wyatt defeated Apollo Crews

THIS WAS NOT ON HULU.

Asuka defeated Alexa Bliss

This was a clustered match with Asuka beating the champion in a non-championship title match. Alexa Bliss works well with some women, but here, she didn’t work well at all. She seemed a bit confused at times, and the match was clumsy, leading to Asuka winning yet again.

Women’s revolution? Hmm, where were the rest of the women? Sleeping?

Braun Strowman defeated Heath Slater and Rhyno

Strowman buried the tag team, and that’s the end of all of the Nexus guys.

Roman Reigns defeated Samoa Joe

Not a terrible match, mind you, but definitely not a good outing for Samoa Joe, as he loses yet again. He loses here, and Reigns keeps the title. This is not great, because all of this time we’ve been seeing Joe choke out people, and dominate, but now, eh, he’s just talk. He reminds me of Kevin Sullivan’s attempt to beat up Hulk Hogan and Macho Man, only to lose every single time. It’s sad, to be honest.

Cedric Alexander and Goldust defeated Drew Gulak Ariya Daivari

This was not shown on HULU.

Finn Balor, The Club Sandwich Boys defeated Elias and The MIztourage

This wasn’t that bad. However, you knew the Club Sandwich guys were winning, since Finn Balor has been winning against any jobber put against him. Not a bad thing, but not a great thing. You knew who was winning here, and while the match wasn’t that great, it wasn’t terrible either. Elias is so good, and yet he’s not getting wins. Finn is just another Alex Wright clone to me, and well, The Club are just a bunch of, wait for it, NERDS!

Brock Lesnar Earns His Paycheck

Brock Lesnar gets paid 12 million dollars for part time work, and he has to put over Kane here. It’s stupid. It’s just stupid. I’m tired of this.

Raw wasn’t terrible, mind you. But it’s ok. I’ve expected this from Raw, and well, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t the worst show I’ve ever seen either.

WWE Monday Night Raw November 20, 2017 Results and Review Make Roman Strong Again

I’m so tired of Roman Reigns, and the booking to make him strong. So much so, that I hated that part of Raw. But let’s talk about how it all went down for Monday, November 20, 2017 as we get another Raw show from Houston, Texas. This is going to be bad at times, and good at times, depending on how you look at it.

WWE Monday Night Raw November 20, 2017 Results and Review

The first thing that happened was something I absolutely hated. Stephanie McMahon came out and decided to talk, and I’m tired of all the talking on Raw. This is where Triple H came down, then Kurt Angle, then Jason Jordan, and Braun Strowman. A match was set for Strowman and Jason Jordan later, even though he wanted to battle Triple H after what happened last night. Stephanie said that Kurt didn’t have the authority to make that match, which is stupid, but ok, I’ll take it. This led to a match set up for Braun Strowman and Jason Jordan.

Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor

The second coming of Alex Wright loses again. Joe is so agile, it’s impressive. He went through a great deal of offense to throw down Balor here, but Balor was no push over. He took joe to several limits, but it was Joe that would get the win here, and well, that’s the end of Balor, right? He loses a lot.

Asuka defeated Dana Brooke

Like you would expect anything else from this match. Dana Brooke was foil for Asuka to battle through, and that’s it.

Dean Ambrose defeated Sheamus

This wasn’t a terrible match, mind you, it was just filler for an otherwise bland show. Ambrose is better as part of the shield than he is solo if you ask me. Sheamus was able to throw down some good offense, but could not defeat Ambrose, who kept kicking out left and right, eventually getting the big win, for whatever reason, I don’t know.

Paige Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose broke up a Fatal Four Way

Pagie showed up, and well she looked like the Joker. The fans went nuts for her, and she brought out two women from NXT. They all attacked the 4 women in the ring trying to battle for the number one contendership, and that’s that. They left them all laying in the ring, and that’s that. Paige is cool I guess. The other two I’m not familiar with, because I haven’t watched NXT as much.

Braun Strowman defeated Jason Jordan via DQ

You know how this was going to go, right? Strowman fought a good fight here, and Jordan tried to battle back. However, Kane showed up and beat up Strowman. Yes, KANE came back, after a week of going through the ring, and he beat up Strowman. I am so tired of Kane.

Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa, and Mustafa Ali defeated The Zo Train

Well, I’m tired of the good guys always winning. I’m so tired, that this match wasn’t that fun to watch. Sure, it had a few moments of fun, but it’s just such a dichotomy to see Enzo now having friends, after he got a beat down from the guys on the roster just a few weeks ago. Not only that, the good guys just plow through these bad guys like it’s nothing, and it makes no sense to me, honestly. Not a bad match, not a great match.

Matt Hardy attacked Elias

So Matt Hardy isn’t broken yet, and he attacked Elias. They are totally going to screw this thing up, aren’t they?

Roman Reigns defeated The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship

You gotta keep Roman Reigns strong. And well, that’s what happened. Reigns was able to plow through the Miz yet again, and left him laying in the middle of the ring after throwing down every part of his offense. The Miz loses, and that’s the end. Roman Reigns is not the intercontinental champion, and he is going to start an open challenge coming soon. Not a terrible match, but not a great one either. I don’t know what else to say about this one.

The night of Wrestling seemed like it was 9 hours long. I am not sure why they didn’t follow up a great deal with the night before, but hey, that’s just what happens.

Makes No Sense, But Oh Well, Why Not?

This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was shown the night before my birthday. Good for me, right? I didn’t watch it until this morning and I don’t really understand some of the decisions that were made. Some of the logic is just not there at all, and others, well it’s there I guess. It’s entertainment, right? Well let’s see what I remember form the night that was, and see if you agree or disagree, or ignore, since no one really reads this blog, right? Oh well.

Roman Reigns def. Raw Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson via Disqualification

Roman Reigns buried the tag team champions, if you ask me. Others will disagree, but if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll know that Reigns is going to be the victor at Fastlane. He buries people, and according to Dave Meltzer, he’s not going to stop getting pushed, simple as that.

Kofi Kingston def. Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas gets buried again. Why can’t he become a part of the Wyatt Family? Why does Bo even have a job? I could do the same thing he does.

Jack Gallagher def. Noam Dar

Gallagher and Dar put on a mediocre job. It was a short match that was supposed to build to the Neville match coming on the ppv.

Emmalina announced the makeover of Emmalina to Emma

Emma is hot. I would rub one out to her.

Braun Strowman def. Mark Henry

Mark Henry was buried, and maybe it’s his turn to retire. Shoeman wins, did you think any different? Bored.

Sami Zayn def. Rusev

Rusev now getting buried by Zayn. Oh well, goodbye Rusev.

Akira Tozawa def. Ariya Daivari

Daivari gets buried here. Oh well.

The Festival of Friendship descended into chaos

“Why is my name on the list?” – Jericho. That was the line of the night, and Kevin Owens beat down his best friend in a very homo-erotic festival of friendship, so there you go folks.

Cesaro def. Enzo Amore

Enzo gets buried here. Wow, what a night to get buried.

Bayley def. Charlotte Flair to become the new Raw Women’s Champion

Now for the most illogical part of Raw. Bayley was set to lose this match, Charlotte got help from Dana Brooke, and it was supposed to be the end of Bayley. However, out came Sasha Banks and hits Charlotte with a crutch! She cheats, and Bayley wins, and celebrates. Charlotte loses the title, Bayley’s win is tainted, but who gives a crap, right?

Overall, Monday Night Raw was not a great show. It was ok. It dragged on for a long time, and the matches were not that great. I had to really focus my mind on the task at hand trying to watch this. I’m bored.

WWE Monday Night Raw 7/13/2015 - The Lesnar Rollins Countdown To Battleground, Or Something

Raw came to some city, I don’t know. I didn’t pay nearly as much attention as I probably should. It’s funny, I finally get cable television and Raw is so drawn out and boring. 3 hours plus of wrestling? I would have peed my pants in 1999, and loved 3 hour Nitro with lots of wrestling. 3 hours of WWE, however, is a tiring affair and it’s absolutely boring. I was bored out of my mind most of this show, and it happens too often.

Once again South Park was on the nose when it comes to wrestling. These openings with 30 – 40 minutes of talking is too much. I don’t care about this feud, now. I just want Lesnar to kill Rollins and get this over with. There’s no way Rollins can stand the beating he’s about to get, fake or not, Lesnar can throw around Rollins like a rag doll. We’ll see what happens, but this whole thing wasn’t worthwhile.

No MORE BIG SHOW!

Seriously, how many times do I have to see his fat face on television? I love how JTG painted him in his book, like a big idiot. He’s slow, he sucks, and having to see him on Raw is stupid. This match sucked, and while Ryback may be the champion, it’s wasted on him. Sheamus and Orton in yet another match? Are you seeing a pattern folks? This is stupid.

Who cares about the Divas?

I still don’t care about the Divas division. Introducing NXT people is fine, but how long before they get buried in the WWE’s version of what they believe is good women’s wrestling? I wasn’t excited by this. I made a can of soup.

The Prime Time Players are the worst tag team. I said it. I don’t want to see them on Raw.

R-Truth is still employed? Barrett is still employed?

Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens Vs. Rusev in a Triangle Match!

Now this is wrestling. This is a throwback to when WCW used to have these matches. Remember when Sting, Vader and the Guardian Angel were in a match like this. Oh, it’s different? Well what about ECW then? Yeah! FTW! Anyways, this match was good, and I liked the story that played out here. Rusev being back was a nice touch, and the shoes were a good thing too. However, the immediate loss to Super Man John Cena didn’t sit well with me at all, but then again who cares, right? Good overall wrestling, great moments, and a nice way to move the competition around.

It was nice knowing you Neville.

Lesnar and Rollins and Kane and blah, blah, blah, terrible night of wrestling.

Oh, one last thing. I still don't care about Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. That feud is terrible. At least Dean Ambrose got an easy night out.

WWE Raw 1/7/13 Review

Instead of posting the results, which you already know, this blog will be an ongoing free form discussion on what I remember from Raw last night, and will not be discussing things I didn’t remember or enjoyed.

Team Hell No vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

I love how Cody Rhodes is younger than me and more successful. It’s an odd thing to realize but man, I’m old. The match was good, and it shows that the WWE can in fact still have a good overall tag team division, but with only a handful of teams being pushed constantly, I don’t think that there needs to be tag titles any longer. They need to introduce way more tag teams or else this is all for not.

Ziggler vs. John Cena

John Cena is a beast, and he sure can wrestle. When he is put in the ring with someone good like Ziggler, Cena shines. He brings a better game than he brought against the Rock last year and it’s evidenced by this great overall Raw match. I didn’t like the ending, as I do not believe Cena needs the win here. Ziggler needed the win with his new bodyguard to further cement that he is going to get a title run with the help of the bodyguard, who then turns on him at the moment he wants to go for the title himself.

Cm Punk vs Rybak in a TLC Match

Anyone who isn’t sold on Rybak needs to reexamine why they love professional wrestling. This match was balls out awesome, and everything that the two competitors did I was cheering for. I was split between the two guys, and I was cheering for Punk’s loss, but could see why Rybak wasn’t going to get the belt. I haven’t seen a stiff competitor for the crown like this in a while so I’m glad this match happened.

I could see Rybak forcing the pin fall at Rumble to go to the Rock or even the Shield screwing Rock over, but for all intents and purposes CM Punk vs Rybak stole the show for me.

This bored me. I don’t care. This reminded me of the south park parody about wrestling where they just talk and barely wrestled. Lame. The Rock was never my favorite, and I still stand by my prediction, Taker vs Rock main event…right? Right? Anyone?

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/25/09 Review

E. Stan Korenke came out to open the show, the owner of the Denver Nuggets. I don’t think it was him, because that would be stupid and of course The Nuggets put a smackdown on the Los Angeles Lakers! Vince came down and gave a beatdown to the owner of the Nuggets. Lame.

Then out came The Miz to suck up air time between transitions. The Big Show came out, after Miz had a Cleveland jersey on, and Cena showed up and then Batista came down, my description sucks because this segment sucked.

Kelly Kelly defeated Maryse via disqualification

Maryse finally defended her title on Raw instead of just sucking it up on the mic. Both of these blonde haired women can’t wrestle, and really just grind my gears…or should I say gear? Whatever this match was lame…same divas match. A basic wrestling premise with a few moments of hard hittingaction, but nothing too insane; in fact it ended via disqualification.

The Hornswoggle Goldust sketch was funny, at least a little bit. It was nice to see Goldust getting back to his comedic roots and keep a job with the wwe..hopefully this last longer than the Booker T comedy angles.

Kofi Kingston defeated William Regal, and Matt Hardy

A triple threat match was a nice second match, and it was actually interesting. Hardy favoring the fake broken arm, Kofi Kingston’s high flying spots, and Regal’s mat skills really was a nice combination of move sets. Even with so many different styles possible, it seemed like too much going on in ring for these wrestlers. There were moments where Matt Hardy seemed like he wasn’t sure what he was going to do next, meanwhile Kofi struggled to clear enough room to hit his spots. Regal meanwhile, was breaking up counts, which was good, and the match got really good with the near falls. MVP was doing color commentary…fyi. Hardy hit the Side Effect and looked poised to win this one, but by the time it seemed that Hardy was going to win, I just wasn’t that interested any longer. Kingston hit a nice spinning kick on Hardy to win the #1 contender position and will face MVP next week on Raw. Trouble in Paradise, Kofi’s move, looked really nice!

Ric Flair came out of retirement to call out Randy Orton. I hate retirements, and I proved when it happened that Flair retired many times during his career and no one cared. I sure didn’t. Well he’s back and this was lame to me. Flair hit Orton with a right hand and it was over yet again. Batista came down to save Flair, and after the dust settled Mr. Kennedy came down to the ramp for what appeared to be no apparent reason. Great! Mr. Kennedy is back so that he can get injure once more and hen get fired because of his injuries that keep popping up, despite his claims of not being on the juice. Then again, remember the 80’s? Everyone was on the juice and the schedules were harder, and yet the injuries didn’t seem to plague wrestlers like they do now…at least they aren’t as publicized that’s for sure. Kennedy claims that he has officially returned! He also says he’s the mystery man for later tonight’s 10 man tag match.

At this point my DVR crapped out on me. YEP! It exploded again, and I couldn’t finish watching Raw. However, the rest of the results didn’t stun or shock me:

I wasn’t surprised by raw at all, it kind of made me glad I didn’t see the rest of it. I’m sure that my dvr will be fine for the rest of the week, these types of hiccups only happen every so often.

WWE Monday Night Raw 05/18/09 Review

It’s good to be back home, and I’m sure all 3 of you readers missed a few reviews that were missed. I noticed that the site made no money while I was gone, and that’s fine, but I don’t know if I can get a TNA ppv this month as I’m broke now.

Randy Orton opened up the show. He started talking trash as usual….then who came out but the Retired Ric Flair. So much for that final send off, huh? I guess he’s back somehow. Flair announces that Orton’s next title defense will come inside a Steel Cage, so that he can’t get disqualified? Oh it’s one of those? The ones where the ref isn’t inside? Because when’s the last time we saw that happen?

Orton delivered one of the worst shots I’ve ever to Flair’s face. It was so ill-timed. Batista ran down after Legacy was starting to come down the stage, but the numbers game once again helped Orton and his crew of misfits gain control. John Cena came down for the save and the ring was cleared! This of course will lead to a tag match…I hate tag matches that don’t involve two “tag teams” alone. But such is life sometimes, huh?

Kelly Kelly won The Divas Battle Royal

Alright, the divas were piled into a Divas Battle Royal. I didn’t want to see any of this, I don’t like the divas at all, it’s a big tease at this point with little to no wrestling prowess at all. Kelly Kelly’s elimination of Beth Phoenix might cause her to start a feud of sorts. Maryse sprayed Mickie James in the face with some perfume or something, and Kelly Kelly wins this match up! Whatever….I don’t care. “Holla…Holla….” Man that music sucks.

Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero

How do you make Chavo look like a good wrestler, or make it seem like he’s still a relevant superstar for the wwe? Have him wrestle Santino, in a hilarious match where he stomps out Santino at every move. Then again, Santino randomly “hulked” up, I kid you not, that being said, Santino was the accidental technical wrestler, ducking and diving his way to a win! So my plot to call out WWE conspiracies to make Chavo good again…backfired because Santino stole one here.

Chavo then got on the mic and said that Santina would have to defend her Wrestlemania diva’s title or whatever against Vickie later tonight. I dreaded hearing this lame announcement…lame.

The Colons defeated Goldust & The Brian Kendrick

Once again, Goldust is thrown into an unlikely tag team partnership. Remember, previously, Goldust was great with the likes of Booker T! Remember that? He also had short lived partnership with The Blue Meanie, and others. Goldust is great as a comedy act and it’s interesting to see him in this match with Brian Kendrick, but I wasn’t sure if this thing was going to carry over into something more, especially when The Colons’ were delivering like the best tag team in the world! The two are amazing in ring together, and I hope that the WWE doesn’t split them into a “brother vs brother” feud. Kendrick lost this one and he’s on a major losing streak. He then yelled at Goldust and provoked him to fight him. I hope Goldust has a third or fourth coming here, Dustin should just be glad that he has a job right now.

Hornswoggle came into the ring and fought Kendrick with the help of Goldust, forming a very unlikely partnership. Why not? Goldy and Horny? I’m tired.

The Miz came down to ringside and talked about how he beat Cena. He was also dressed like Cena, making for a hilarious moment in time. The King came into the ring and started calling out wrestlers to compare The Miz’s victory over John Cena to logic. It was hilarious, and a part of me really wanted Batista to come out at King’s call and beat him up, it would’ve been awesome.

The Big Show came down to ring side and beat up The Miz, which was interesting…in that The Big Show just killed The Miz.

MVP defeated Matt Hardy

MVP is really BALLIN! He’s got me saying that at random locations, signals and all! I was in the sports section at the Supermarket, and I was “BALLIN” with anything ball shaped! It was fun. I can’t really avoid it, it’s impulsive; try it, it makes you feel better. MVP and Hardy are familiar opponents and they put on a good match up, with Hardy pretending that his arm was really broken, and after the random spots, the inevitable happened, MVP pinned Matt Hardy and it was all over. MVP wins again, proving that he’s still BALLIN!

Santino’s backstage antics were great. But the lead in was Chavo on the floor with Vickie on a chair…it looked really awkward. I don’t want to say incest…but my wheels aer turning.

Vickie Guerrero defeated Santina in a Miss Wrestlemania match

This match was dumb. Santina got beat up by William Regal, and of course that should’ve garnered disqualification…however, they turned this into a no dq match midway through.

Batista & John Cena defeated Legacy

I’m not sure how many times we’ve seen this, but I feel that this is just boring. We see this too often, handicap match with the faces looking great. So if you’ve seen any major previous match featuring the top faces in the game, you probably saw this match. I have a feeling that this match is at the house shows, but whatever the case maybe, Legacy was actually doing a good job holding their own midway through the match up. They just seemed like a well oiled machine, and why not? They are truly gaining on the “legacy” of The Four Horseman at this point. They have some more major title’s to go, but overall it’s getting good, seriously good. Things were falling apart until Ric Flair came down and lent an assist to the good guys, and Batista gets the pin on Orton!

Flair never retires…lame.

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/27/09 Review

The show opened up with Randy Orton and Priceless coming down to the ring, with the title belt as he is the new WWE Champion. Orton got on the mic and put everyone on notice, and right in the middle of his speech, MVP came out to interrupt him! That’s right MVP! MVP just got a huge push in my book as he got on the mic and was confident and overall great, the crowd was behind him, and this was a great start to the first Raw after Backlash. MVP will wrestle Orton, and this was new to me. MVP getting a push? Wow.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Brian Kendrick

The Brian Kendrick and Kofi Kingston was a stellar match up. These two were putting on a good fast paced show. There was a little bit of everything in this math, a little bit of mat wrestling, some great high flying action, and awesome counters from Kofi, as we finally got a taste of what the lighter guys could do in the ring. Kofi Kingston gets the win, even though Kendrick had some great offense in this match, sadly, The Kendrick is knocked down a peg, on his Raw debut.

Santina, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella, Mickie James defeated Jillian, Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Eva Mendez

There was a little bit of comedy during this match with Hornswoggle and the Bella twins playing up comedy. Santina rolled up Jillian for the win, and this match was just a throwaway filler match, with no worthwhile action at all. It must be nice to be a wwe diva right now, you don’t have to wrestle, just stand at ringside as Santina wins with ease.

Matt Hardy defeated Goldust

At this point, I was tired. I get up at 4:30 am and watch Raw to review it, and was out of it. However, out came Goldust! That’s right, GOLDUST! I marked out huge for Goldust as he was set to wrestle Matt Hardy! Matt Hardy was out there with a cast on and he knocked out Goldust for the win. This match was terrible. It was a loss for Goldust, just a jobber match with Goldust in it. Lame.

MVP vs. Randy Orton ended in a No Contest when Shane McMahon interfered

MVP had this match “Ballin”! It was great to see the Champion getting worked over as MVP was getting some great shots in. Right before a commercial break MVP hit a huge kick, knocking Orton outside of the ring and it looked bad. Orton had MVP down and roughly nearly out after the break. So the tides turn, Orton was then applying rest holds for the continuation. I do believe this is the first time a secondary champion was given credit for his position. MVP made such a great move in this match up, nearly defeating the champion at several moments. Seriously, he had Orton down and nearly put away. He even hit the “Ballin” elbow, only for a 2 count; if nothing else this match was just a great entertaining piece of wrestling. Orton capitalized on some mistakes made by MVP, but right when things were picking up well, out came Shane McMahon from the crowd with a KENDO STICK! McMahon attacked Orton until the stick broke, then climbed to the top rope and hit a huge elbow drop, the rest of legacy came running down, but were too late.

As for MVP, he was on the outside f the ring, and the match was thrown out. I guess it s a double dq? No contest? I don’t know, the WWE never tells you what’s going on. MVP looked amazing in this match, I hope he gets a title shot and wins down the road, because he has that special extra talent, he has “it”.

The Miz challenged John Cena, and when Cena didn’t show up, declared himself the winner. This segment was lame.

The Colons defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jamie Noble

Usually I’m all about these tag team matches, but I hate how Chavo and Noble, two amazing competitors, just get thrown together for seemingly no apparent reason. I don’t like how this turned out, even though the match wasn’t all that bad overall. The Colon’s didn’t have an easy time winning, but they made the ending look easy, despite the great offense from Guerrero and Noble.

Batista defeated The Big Show

This match was mostly Big Show. Batista got a few shots in, but it was Batista that got the assist from John Cena. John Cena was at the ramp and caused Big Show to get counted out allowing Batista to go to Judgment Day for the big title match against Randy Orton.

After the dust settled this night of wrestling wasn’t all that good. They are setting up things for the future, and it is nice to see Cena and Triple H not in the spotlight, for a change. We’ll see how the WWE takes this forward.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/13/09 Review

The show opened up with Batista, talking about how he wants revenge for the punt that caused Batista to be out for a while, 4 months ago. Batista called out Randy Orton and was ready to come out and chase down Randy Orton. However, Shane McMahon showed up to ringside to talk a little strategy with Batista. Triple H showed up and said that Randy Orton was his. Vickie Guerrero showed up, in a wheelchair, and she said that at Backlash the team will have their revenge match. Guerrero made a match for later, where the winner will either get a shot at Orton or no one will face Orton. That was that. Not exactly the most stellar of beginnings to Raw, but I had not choice but to enjoy it.

Rey Mysterio defeated Evan Bourne

They keep giving away this match for free. I believe that this is the second time We’ve seen this match up. This time around it seemed like Evan Bourne was grounding Mysterio for a good portion of the match, with rest holds and quick combat, that seemed to have the veteran a little distracted. Right when I thought that Evan Bourne would get the rub, he lost to Rey Mysterio with some quick moves and the splash. Rey Mysterio wins an easy one here.

Kane defeated The Brian Kendrick

Kane hasn’t had a good push in a long time. Kendrick has been on a losing streak lately, so I wasn’t sure which side to go for in this match up. Kane squashed The Brian Kendrick and that was that.

Michelle McCool, Maryse, and Natalya defeated Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Melina

This match started with a huge melee. This match technically didn’t even start until the bell run and Mickie James got tore up initially. That was an interesting power move from Michelle McCool, dropping Mickie James to her knees with what seemed to be a very stiff shot. Mickie James was doing well in there, and I finally gave her some credit, cause she was making things interesting for the first time in WWE Divas history. Mickie James knocked herself out with a top rope miss, and Michelle McCool capitalized, winning this match up without anyone else joining the match! What a load of crap. The best start to a divas match ends with a terrible copout of an ending.

John Cena defeated Jack Swagger

Did you really think that Jack Swagger would defeat Cena? I sure didn’t, so the illusion was taken away for me in this match up. I remember in the 80’s when people in the undercard and other champions had legitimate chances at defeating the champion. While the illusion was attempted here, you just knew that the bastard ECW champion wouldn’t defeat John Cena. Cena hit his chorus of finishing moves, much to the approval of the audience and of course, the inevitable. WRONG! Swagger got out of Cena’s finisher and shoved Cena into the ring post, shoulder first. For a few moments, I thought it was over, but nope…The Attitude Adjustment hit and then the STFU! Swagger tapped immediately, and another champion squashed. John Cena wins via submission.

At this point in the night, the drafts have favored Raw completely. Are they going to end Smackdown? It sure seems this way, because Raw is getting all the main eventers. As soon as Triple H was announced to be drafted, Edge came and attacked John Cena from behind. I still think that Smackdown is getting the weaker show at this point.

The Great Khali defeated Santino

This one was odd. If Santino lost this match he would have to kiss Khali on the Khali kiss cam. Santino was squashed easily, he got worked and it wasn’t even close. I personally am tired of Santino not getting a fair shake at wrestling, but he’s still funny, so we’ll let it pass.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz

I recall saying that Kofi Kingston was going to be the next big thing. It turns out that he’s not getting the fair shake that I thought he would. Kofi and The Miz went back and forth in this match up, with Kofi looking like he might be defeated at several times in this match up, however he connected with some great shots, to make this one interesting. The Miz had a few counters in this match up and I’m completely surprised at how far he’s come along since first coming into the WWE as a Reality Show reject. The match ended fast with a few counters and near falls and it was all over. Kofi got the win.

Edge won a inter-brand Battle Royal

This match was your standard Battle Royal. Nothing too crazy to report here. Edge won with a clever move of dropping the top rope while Big Show ran to him and was thrown out. Like I said, nothing too crazy here.

Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin

The Killswitch was heard round the world as Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin. I thought for sure Christian was going to win the belt when he returned but alas, he’s still in midcard hell for the most part. This match was a quick one, mostly burying Benjamin yet again. Christian though, deserves so much more upon his return, but oh well.

Matt Hardy defeated CM Punk via Disqualification

Hardy and CM Punk have faced each other before, and the two work well together. I like the way these two put good matches together, if they are given enough time. However, this match wasn’t given time as Jeff Hardy ran down and fought off Matt Hardy. Jeff was ready to pounce on Matt from the top rope but Matt ran away. CM Punk was left in the ring. Matt Hardy won this one, but only by DQ.

Chris Jericho defeated Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer has been a hard worker for WWE for a long time. However, he hasn’t gotten a fair shake in a long time. Maybe it is because he’s an ECW original, and the only original left on that brand that was really a main factor in the original incarnation from the East Coast. Now with Taz gone, it’s no wonder that the ECW brand looks to be on the chopping block yet again. Jericho was putting on a nice show here, allowing Dreamer very little opportunities to get in good action. Dreamer did put on a good fight, but as he came off the top rope, Jericho hit the Codebreaker in mid air! It was curtains for Tommy Dreamer.

Triple H, Shane McMahon, and Batista defeated Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase Jr.

You got your standard six man tag team match here. Nothing too crazy until Triple H tagged himself into the match by slapping Batista. Shane McMahon speared Batista out of the blue! Triple H hit the Pedigree, and this match was odd. He will face Randy Orton next week solo, but Batista was taken out as collateral or intentional damage! Batista was not happy at this, and maybe this will turn Batista Heel or maybe Triple H will turn Heel, I don't know. This was a weird way to end Raw.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/30/09 Results and Review One More Raw

The raw before Wrestlemania should be good right? We’ll see. It opened up with a Hearse being parked in the backstage area, who knows what that’s all about.

Tiffany & The Good Divas defeated the bad divas

I didn’t get all the names in this match up. By the time it was over I didn’t even get all the names. This seemed like a 12 man tag or something, this was a terrible match. Tiffany won the pinfall, and that was it.

Post match Santino came down to the ring in a robe. He took off the robe and was in a Mankini! Hilarious, he started dancing and all the divas were laughing. This was a poor segment, funny, but poor.

Chris Jericho defeated Jerry Lawler

Chris Jericho and Lawler? This should have been the wrestlemania match, not the three on one. Of course, I dug a little deeper and found that Vince isn’t too high on Lawler being in Wrestlemania as a huge participant, but that of course is all rumor, and no real concrete evidence of anything. Jericho came in and controlled the beginning of this match, hitting Lawler hard with simple moves. Lawler mounted a small comeback in the middle of this match and it wasn’t half bad. Lawler has a few matches left in his tank, but not in the same capacity as Jericho, and this was proven when Jericho slapped on the Walls of Jericho for the win.

Rey Mysterio jr defeated JBL

I’m not sure why they had this match, it was Jbl and Rey Mysterio? They should’ve saved this match or the ppv or put these guys in a tag match, not given it away for free on Raw. This was a non title match, and I’m not sure what the WWE was thinking. They have so many people on the roster, and they could’ve filled it here, but instead we got this match early. Not much of a match at all, this one ended predictably and I guess that’s all that can be said about this match up.

The Big Show defeated John Cena

John Cena and Big Show? Really? This was done so many times before; not as many times as they did with Edge and Cena but come on! What a terrible way to wedge in more wrestling onto Raw. This match was standard big man style vs no style cena. Cena needs to turn heel, and he should’ve done it yesterday. Terrible match.

Kane won an 8 man battle royal

This match sucked. It was your basic battle royal with all the participants in the Money in the Bank match up. Overall a boring endeavor and a crappy lead into wrestlemania.
Randy Orton got his best desserts with The Mcmahon family bum rushing Orton and beating him up.

Yay…Raw sucked, it’s been a while since raw sucked this bad.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/16/09 Results and Review San Antonia Texas Edition

The WWE teased that Undertaker was going to confront Shawn Michaels at the opening of this show, but instead Lillian Garcia interrupted to let us know that these two would be tag team partners for the upcoming match up.

The Undertaker & Shawn Michaels defeated Kozlov & JBL

HBK had this match in firm grasp over JBL but as soon as Kozlov got tagged in, things turned completely around. HBK was definitely not enjoying any ort of domination in this match up. With that in mind, this tag match was setting up Undertaker for the hot tag, but I didn’t seem to mind it too much. I did think that The Undertaker should not have been so anxious or zealous in regards to trying to tag into the match up. He should’ve been stiff and refused a tag, leaving HBK out to there to lose this one, playing mind games. However, Undertaker got the hot tag, went through half of his move set in a matter of minutes against JBL and looked really strong overall. HBK blind tagged Undertaker, jumped in and scored the pinfall victory in this match up. This made The Undertaker mad, and confused me. The point of them being a tag team is so that they win! Who cares how! Whatever….The Undertaker used to not care, now he’s nothing but a wuss.

The best part of this segment was The Undertaker standing at the top of the ramp, giving his one arm salute, only to get kicked in the face by a Superkick from Shawn Michaels! That was classic, leaving Undertaker on the floor, dead….or undead? Haha.

Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Melina defeated Beth Phoenix, Jillian, Layla

This match was starting to get interesting towards the end, especially with Santino getting involved. However, the WWE once again pulls the rug from under us before this thing could really develop with Melina getting a roll up for no apparent reason other than they are short on time. This match was terrible, and once again proves that the WWE doesn’t really book women’s matches all that well. Then again, they need to get as many women in the night as possible, so maybe that’s the reasoning behind this.

Triple H defeated Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes got a stern lesson about who holds down the roster. Ok, maybe not, but Triple H basically squashed Cody Rhodes in a matter of minutes, and thwarted attacks by Orton and Ted Dibiase. However, Triple had a Steel Cage lower to the ring, and this of course is definitely going to have something to do with Wrestlemania!

The match didn’t start until the Steel Cage lowered. Cody was paying his dues in this match. Triple H used Cody to knock off Orton and Dibiase off the cage walls as they tried to climb up. Cody was getting killed, seriously, if you missed this part of Raw, you really missed it, because Cody was paying some major, heavy dues in this match up. This match was kind of cool, but it wasn’t an instant classic. Cody Rhodes got worked over in this match up, and was left laying in the ring, out cold. I haven’t seen a second generation star pay so many dues. At least not in one night; Cody Rhodes got obliterated by Triple H, and this can’t be a good sign.

Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

Wow, Ziggler on Raw? I thought he would have gone the way of Kizarni! Remember that dude? One or two appearances on Smackdown and then officially gone. Ziggler is going to have to prove something to the boys in the back, and stay off the drugs, and maybe win a match. Rey Mysterio won this match easily, not missing one move, making quick work of Ziggler, proving yet again that WWE doesn’t like creating new stars. Well, at least not letting them go over.

Chris Jericho called out Ric Flair, and started whining and what not. Ric Flair came out and wouldn’t fight him. So he called Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, and Ricky Steamboat to come and fight Jericho! They charged down to ringside, but after stopping Jericho, he weaseled his way out of the ring and ran away like a chump.

The WWE showed a recap of Wrestlemania XV, which is by far the worst wrestlemania in my opinion. I remember my friends and I were all sorely disappointed with the results.

MVP, CM Punk, and Kofi Kingston defeated Kane, Mark Henry, and Shelton Benjamin

If anyone knows how to do a huge tag match of epic proportions in a short amount of time it’s the WWE. This match had spots from all competitors, however, it never really tried to be too much of a spot fest. I really enjoyed that part of this match up, as it had a little time to develop, and enough follow through to make it a worthwhile match up. Good stuff, I enjoyed it, and of course the good guys won after CM Punk hit the GTS!

John Cena vs. Edge w/ Vickie Guerrero as special guest referee (no contest)

John Cena and Edge wrestled an ok match up, this thing was getting interesting but Vickie kept trying to sabotage Cena’s pinfall attempts. After a few exchanges of this type, Big Show came down and helped Edge lock John Cena in the ropes! After this was over Edge knocked out Big Show and was the last man standing. However, no real winner was declared….unless you count Edge, I guess he wins…somehow.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/9/09 Results and Review Triple H Gets Arrested

I admit, I was really tired during this show. However, I tried to suck it up for you 2 readers out there that still come to the site. I know that no one is buying anything and no one is reading this, but I like it, so I keep writing.

The show opened up with Shawn Michaels in the ring talking about The Undertaker. The Undertaker shows up after a promo package of highlights, and HBK starts randomly talking about how cool he is, whatever. The Undertaker said he would lay HBK’s dream to rest, and random crap. This is boring to me. The two should just beat each other to hell like they did at In Your House Ground Zero, where the whole locker room had to come out and stop them from killing each other.

Oh yeah, THE WWE HAS FIRED KIZARNY!!! I just remembered that, Kizarn sucked, but man, WWE really lost money on that dude with lots of promo’s leading up to his debut.

JBL defeated C.M. Punk to win the Intercontinental Championship

Alright, our first match on the card was an Intercontinental battle between JBL and C.M. Punk. Wow, this match look good, and JBL was trying everything to work well with Punk. I hate how the WWE goes from Punk standing over a fallen JBL at the commercial break to being in the losers seat after the commercials are over. It’s a little too predictable at this point, which sours the match up a little. This is no fault of the competitors, but I wish the WWE would do something about that. The Tornado ddt was good, Punk nearly had JBL out after that move. Punk nearly knocked out JBL with a knee to the head and a a running bulldog, but JBL hit the Clothesline from Hell on C.M. Punk, nearly out of nowhere, and it was all over! JBL is the new Intercontinental Champion!

Randy Orton’s house was shown and Michael Cole interviewed him. This was a stupid segment and a waste of time. I was really expecting Triple H to show up, just like Stone Cold showed up at Brian Pillman’s house, but alas, it didn’t happen. I’m telling you, this was the worst thing I’ve seen on Raw in a long time.

Maryse defeated Melina

This was a terrible match up. A seriously terrible match; but afterwards there was an all out brawl with divas from Smackdown and Raw tearing it up in the ring, which was kind of cool, I guess.

There was a contract signing on Raw , and John Cena was added to the title match between Big Show and Edge. Things got weird when John Cena said that he loved Vickie Guerrero. It was really weird, and I tuned out a little bit. This is stupid and no one was laughing, at least I wasn’t. This is the weirdest twist, and left me stunned. I’m sickened that they would go through this story line. This is stupid, seriously stupid.

Then after all that weirdness, Cena showed a tape of Big Show kissing Vickie Guerrero. Weird. This is the worst segment of the night, what a terrible way to advance story lines.

Kofi Kingston defeated Chris Jericho in a money in the bank qualifying match

It’s good to see that Kofi Kingston is still employed. I was having my doubts after he got beat down at No Way Out. Jericho and Kingston put together an interesting match up, with a few spots, considering that there wasn’t a whole lot of time for this match up to develop. Chris Jericho had this match sewn up with Kofi Kingston in the Walls of Jericho and ready to tap out. Ric Flair showed up at the ramp and distracted Jericho, Kingston hit him with a huge roundhouse kick and it was over.

Once again we go to Randy Orton’s house…lame.

Koko B. Ware will be inducated into the WWE Hall of Fame. That was a good pick, that guy had some hops and one of the best drop kicks in the industry.

Rey Mysterio, Finlay, Christian defeated Miz & Morrison, and Kane

This match seemed very rushed, but it was ok. Christian is spot on, and I’m glad he’s back in the WWE. I hope they don’t just fire him sooner than later, that’s for sure. Overall, not a terrible match up, with some good overall spots; but this still seemed rushed and just slapped together to get more talent in on the night. Whatever the case is, the good guys win, and that’s that.

Rhodes & Dibiase defeated Triple H via forfeit

Triple H, didn’t show up for his match. So automatically the young guns get a paycheck for just being in the arena. Randy Orton was mad, via satellite.

WHAT THE HECK!

Triple H showed up at Randy Orton’s house with a sledgehammer, knocks down the door, then bum rushes the inside!!! This is just like the Stone Cold feud, and this was terrible. Screw you wwe, geez! Police show up as Randy Orton is on his front lawn getting beat up. Triple H gets arrested, what a load of crap.

This the worst ending to Raw since 1997, seriously, this is a load of crap, and a stupid way to put this feud over, stupid, stupid stupid. WWE has sunk to a new low.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/2/09 Results and Review

The show opened with an announcement that there will be a world title match tonight on Raw. Then the show moved right to Piper’s Pit! That’s right, Piper’s Pit opened up the show with your host…Chris Jericho! He brought out Superfly Jimmy Snuka! I marked out huge for seeing Snuka out there, as he is one of my childhood favorites, and I even liked him through Wrestlemania 8 and so on and so forth. The show melted down into a reenactment of the famous Snuka/Piper’s pit event, but Snuka outsmarted Chris Jericho for the moment. He celebrated to a lot of fan fair, but Jericho smashed the set onto Snuka and got the final laugh by beating him up.

Jericho has so much heat, there can’t possibly be more heat on the guy. He is the most hated wrestler in the wwe right now, and more so for beating up Jimmy Snuka. I’m not sure where this is going, but if it means Lawler vs Jericho at Wrestlemania, I’m going to be upset. Then again, Lawler needs one shot at Wrestlemania and maybe he can bring it…if only for a second.

Kane defeated Mike Knox, and Rey Mysterio Jr. in a Money in the Bank Qualifier

This match didn’t make sense to me. I understood that Rey couldn’t win, even though he had a major comeback midway into the match, but for Kane to win is dumb to me. He’s not a high flyer at all, and I find him boring in a ladder match. He’s not Undertaker, he’s not going to bump like Taker did for Jeff Hardy a few years back. Kane in the ladder match at Wrestlemania, is dumb to me. I’m sorry. This match was noting too crazy, it was ok at best.

Kelly Kelly & Mickie James defeated Jillian & Beth Phoenix

They don’t let these matches develop long enough This match was lame, and it didn’t take long to develop at all. It ended up with a surprise victory and was overshadowed completely by Maryse delivering a DDT to the floor on the outside. What a terrible piece of crap match. Why even have the divas in wwe? This is the worst division in professional wrestling, it makes me want to give up on wrestling. Sadly, the least Gay thing about professional wrestling is the wwe divas, and yet I can’t stand the way the matches go. I know I’m not alone thinking this.

Randy Orton was out in the ring with an entourage, saying he didn’t want to wrestle at Wrestlemania against Triple H. Triple H came out and gave a long speech about how Randy Orton is scared of him and he doesn’t want to wrestle him at mania cause he’s an idiot and that he’s young. This bored me greatly, I don’t care about Triple H antagonizing Orton, we need to see Orton chasing a little, otherwise why is he the heel? Of course Orton changes his mind and makes a mandate that Triple H can’t touch him, the standards. Lame.

Shawn Michaels defeated Vladimir Kozlov

Smart wrestling by HBk in this match, the chop block on Kozlov was classic. If you can isolate the leg on Kozlov, he can’t perform his moves and you can take advantage. However, this was short lived with Kozlov putting the boots to Shawn Michaels. This was quite the power match for Kozlov, HBK was singled out completely for his former back injury, creating an interesting psychology to the match up. I gotta admit, Kozlov has the best in ring psychology since Bret Hart. Yeah, I said it. The counter to the flying elbow was key, that was an excellent reversal, and the match was methodically getting worse for HBK, proving that Kozlov has got a little more than your average monster heel. HBK really worked a good match too, creating wonder that maybe there was more to the HBK tank than we give him credit for! Then they threw it all away…the wwe took a dump on the fans and everyone watching. Within a few seconds the match was over as HBK “hulked” up and hit sweet chin music, derailing the best Kozlov match up to this point. Screw you McMahon, what a terrible finish to what could’ve been a classic.

Post match, The Undertaker came out and looked creepy, big deal. Who cares?

Cowboy Bill Watts was announced into the WWE Hall of Fame.

John Cena defeated Edge via Disqualification

This match sucked. The ending sucked and I’m personally tired of this feud. We saw this already in 2007 right? Late 06 and 07 was Edge and Cena every week! I’m sick of this crap. The dq finish too, what a load of crap, Raw sucks, this match sucked, I’m so sick of this crap.

Maybe ECW can pick it up tomorrow, we’ll see.

Oh and Big show was named #1 contender to the world title...great.

WWE Monday Night Raw 2/10/09 Review and Results Shane Returns Again

Nature Boy Ric Flair and Chris Jericho opened up the show, exchanging verbal jabs. Chris Jericho was really pushing his agenda, and it was great. He’s golden on the mic and Flair reacts right on point too. Chris Jericho played up the “satan” role here, meaning that it was like the 40 days of Christ’s temptation. Jericho kept telling Flair to tell the fans they suck, and Flair stood his ground. Wow, I can’t believe I just tried to compare the bible with wrestling, I’m such an idiot. Flair eventually decked Jericho, knocking him down with one solid right hand.

Beth Phoenix & Jillian defeated Kelly Kelly & Melina

No real surprise here folks, the only four divas that seem to ever wrestle each other wrestled each other in this quick match. Nothing too exciting happened until Beth Pheonix dropped Melina with the nice finisher, and picked up the win. I liked this one a lot, and thought it was ok for what it was. You really have to suspend belief with these women. Lame overall but Beth Phoenix’s win was great.

Wrestlemania III is profiled, and I remember it being one of the greatest wrestlemania’s of all time. It definitely is one of my favorites of all time. Seriously, it was amazing. Macho Man Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat! Yeah Andre and Hogan was huge, but this was great, I loved the Intercontinental Championship in those days, and you know what? It was PG! Yeah suckers, what’cha know about that son? Sorry.

Team Priceless defeated Cryme Tyme

Not very deep here, the young tag team gets the upper hand in this match up. Yeah, once again, Cryme Tyme gets buried. It’s funny how they were once fan favorites and are now slowly unraveling to the point where they either split and go on their separate ways or the company lets them go and wishes them the best on their future endeavors. The match overall was short and to the point. Priceless dominated the majority of the match and eventually got the win. Nothing crazy here, just Cryme Tyme doing the job on tv.

Kane, Chris Jericho, and Mike Knox defeated Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena

This match was interesting, but I didn’t have as much fun until things fell apart for the good guys and left Kofi Kingston to fight off Chris Jericho. Kingston put up some great moments but as he was coming off the top rope, Jericho hit the Code Breaker and picked up the win! If you missed this split second move, you really missed out on one of the most well timed Code Breakers I’ve seen in a long time. Seriously, this was good. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment, which wasn’t all that great at all. I hate that name. Jericho gets the pin, much to the dismay of Knox, and Kane.

Mark Henry defeated Shawn Michaels via disqualification

This was basically nothing short of a throwaway match. The two wrestlers barely did anything and the end came when Shawn Michaels hit sweet chin music on Henry, while Henry was holding a chair. This caused the disqualification and the match was over.

CM Punk defeated William Regal

I really thought this match could’ve been good, but nope. This was a short title defense from Punk and wasn’t as good as the match that he won the title in. Seriously, it wasn’t that good at all. William Regal hit Punk hard a few times and I thought he was legit knocked out, but somehow he managed to stay in there. Punk hit the GTS and pinned Regal yet again.

Wrestlemania 13 is profiled. The best thing that happened in that Wrestlemania was Brett Hart and Stone Cold, one of the best matches of all time. One of my favorite matches of all time, seriously, the best; there is No other feud was that great, no other match can really be on par with that Submission match up.

The Undertaker defeated Randy Orton via disqualification

Good overall match up. This was interesting indeed. Undertaker had everything figured out in this match and even countered the RKO attempt well. It was great stuff, I liked it. Undertaker was in full control of this match up overall, but when it came time for the Tombstone, Priceless ran out and started fighting Taker. This caused the disqualification, but then came out Shane McMahon!

Shane beat up legacy, Randy Orton ran away, and Ted Dibiase got knocked out with a chokeslam then got Shane McMahon going across the ring to hit him with a trashcan shot. It was just like Wrestlemania X-Seven. Shane is going to kill Orton this weekend, but probably won’t win the match.

WWE Monday Night Raw 2/2/09 Results and Review McMahon Returns Again

Another new week in wrestling and here we go! Shane McMahon started the show off tonight with news that Randy Orton wants a shot at Shane McMahon at No Way Out and Shane O is going to fight Randy Orton at No Way Out in my home town of Seattle in a NO HOLDS BARRED Match!

William Regal & Layla defeated C.M. Punk & Mickie James

This match was supposed to be a prelude to No Way Out in a small way. Mickie James finally got back in the ring, but to me she looked rusty. Regal was working stiff yet again, hitting Punk with some hard shots, and forcing Punk to really try and recover from an onslaught from Regal that his traditional style. Punk took a nasty fall outside of the ring, then as he was going back in, Regal hit him with a running knee to the head, pinning him afterwards for the win. Regal gets the one up for his team.

Cryme Tyme defeated Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes via disqualification

This match looked like it was going to be Cryme Tyme taking the victory as it looked like things were going well for the duo. However, Rhodes and Dibiase got frustrated and ignored the ref’s five count and pounced on one half of Cryme Tyme and eventually got themselves disqualified. Not much of a match, that’s for sure.

Chris Jericho came out to run his mouth but was interrupted by John Cena and it wasn’t half bad.

Mike Knox & Kane defeated Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio really aren’t a bad team. They combined their speed and high flying style and really tried to stop the Big Red Machine and Mike Knox from running through them with ease. I’ll still go on record saying that I don’t like seeing the “David and Goliath” type of matches that the WWE consistently book Rey Mysterio in. Mike Knox looked to have this match in the bag when he was dominating Kofi Kingston, but somehow Kingston managed to keep kicking out. Kane and Mike Knox would be great in the old style of wrestling that the wcw and wwf were pushing, to me their style together seems lost in modern professional wrestling. Unless the Wwe really starts pushing their tag team division with more than just a couple of teams; Kane caught Rey Mysterio coming off the top rope and immediately dropped him on the back of his head, nearly knocking him out completely. Kane and Mike Knox were touted as being impressive as a team. They are crazy, that’s for sure. Definitely one of the better matches I’ve seen in a while, despite the fact that I don’t like the match up so much.

Beth Phoenix defeated Candice Michelle

Beth Phoenix is definitely the best WWE Diva on Raw. If she ever got to go to TNA she’d fit right in with their Knockouts. She can wrestle, which is something that I enjoy about watching her matches. It’s interesting to see where Beth Phoenix will go with such a shallow amount of female wrestlers in the WWE. We’ll have to wait and see.

John Cena defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho didn’t start this one like he would’ve liked to. John Cena was all over him, wasting half of his move set within the first five minutes of the match. Oddly enough the crowd seemed behind him and chanting his name, proving yet again that he’s not half bad, huh? Jericho seemed to get the upper hand towards the closing of this match hitting the Lionsault, and nearly getting the three count. However, Cena was going for broke on Jericho, even countering the Code Breaker! Cena was locked into the Walls of Jericho and I thought it was over, but Cena reversed it into the STF and got Jericho to tap, winning this match. That was Raw.

Raw was ok at best. I was too tired too enjoy it.

WWE Raw 1/19/09 Review and Results McMahon Returns

This was supposed to be a huge event, since Vince McMahon was scheduled to return to television. It’s about time too.

Randy Orton defeated Santino, Kofi Kingston,Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, Kane in a battle royal

This was a fast match, with nothing really to say about it. Orton and his legacy team basically took care of business, and threw everyone out. Then Legacy sacrificed themselves so that Orton would win, and he did just that.

Beth Phoenix defeated Kelly Kelly

Beth Phoenix did a few moves and dropped Kelly Kelly within a few minutes. This was a non match, as the champion really looked dominant to say the least. There wasn’t much to the match, by the time I looked up it was over.

CM Punk defeated William Regal in a no dq match for the Intercontinental Championship

We’ve been waiting for this one a while. Punk and Regal in a no dq match up, in Punk’s home town! I wasn’t too sure if Punk would get the nod, because the WWE likes to embarrass people in their home town. Regal was putting on a clinic at points, with some great counters and great suplexes. Punk got dropped on his head trying to do a bulldog, as Regal countered into a belly to back twisting suplex! Seriously, it was incredible, Punk looked like his neck broke, but it was all good. Punk was definitely looking like the winner as he was nearly hitting the GTS as Regal could not fight out of it even with several stiff shots to the face! THE GTS hit and CM PUNK wins one of the hardest fought Intercontinental championship matches I’ve seen in many years.

Cena and JBL had a contract signing where the table in the ring DID NOT get broken! That’s a first.

Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox via disqualification

Mike Knox basically dismantled Rey Mysterio. He was ruthless and was basically killing Rey Mysterio. Mike Knox got disqualified after a while since he didn’t stop attacking Rey Mysterio. This was ridiculous, I’ve never liked big wrestlers knocking out Rey Mysterio, never. That’s why Mysterio gets injured. This was a mugging, an assault, a terrible match up. I kid, this was hard hitting, and was ok at best. Nothing to see here.

Cryme Tyme defeated Miz & Morrison

Not much of a match up. This was fast and breezy, Miz and Morrison lose this match and Cryme Tyme will get a title shot down the road. Not great at all.

Melina defeated Jillian

This match wasn’t all that great. It was fast and easy yet again. The divas suck at wrestling, but this match proved it more again. Melina did manage to defeat Jillian, however it wasn’t all that great. Jillian was on the winning end for a good part of the match up, but Melina turned the tables and things got a little better. Santino and Beth Phoenix brought out Rosa and she helped beat up Melina after the match.

Funny gag was when McMahon showed up, Ziggler had nothing to say! Great comic routine.

McMahon’s return was greeted in ring with Chris Jericho coming out pleading for his job back and trying to get Stephanie McMahon fired! Chris Jericho would get his job back if he would apologize to Stephanie McMahon, which he did. Then Stephanie told Jericho that he had to apologize to the fans! The boos poured in and Y2J gets his job back. Orton came out later but at that point I was too tired to care. Orton slapped McMahon as he was about to get fired, then got PUNTED right in the head!

On the surface this show should have been the best Raw ever! However, the matches were way too short, I mean more so than usual. The Intercontinental championship match up was great, I loved that, but outside of that, this night of Raw was not good at all. Maybe ECW can make it better.

WWE Raw 1/12/09 Review and Results Jericho Gets Fired

We open the show with JBL instructing Shawn Michaels that he must basically wrestle like his life depended on it, because he works for JBL not just for pride and glory.

Chris Jericho confronting Stephanie McMahon was kind of cool. I think the best talker in the WWE right now is Chris Jericho. If only all the wwe superstars right now had his mic skills, we would have a completely different wwe raw program. Stephanie McMahon FIRES Chris Jericho!

Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated The Miz

The Miz and Rey Mysterio put on a good match up. No, it’s not crazy, but it was adequate. Miz put up a good enough offensive, but he couldn’t get this one through. Mike Knox appeared after the match and started beating up Rey Mysterio! Surprise, surprise, the big man attacked Rey Mysterio. Mike Knox is now officially A-Train Jr.

William Regal defeated Cm Punk via disqualification

Cm Punk and William Regal once again put the Intercontinental title into the spotlight, creating something really cool. Seriously, this is the type of heavy hitting match that the title should have. If only it was a little longer. It was getting really good, until William Regal suffered a low blow in full view of the referee! That’s right, Regal, was hit with a right hand to the stomach and the ref thought it was below the belt and was disqualified, causing Regal to hold on yet again.

Randy Orton defeated Kane

Kane has slowly becoming one of the least feared “monsters” in professional wrestling right now. They have been making him lose yet again. This match wasn’t that great, Kane really pushed hard this week and was beating Orton for a good amount of time. However, Orton caught Kane with a leg drop as Kane was flying down and then went for the pin. Kane sucks now, sorry, maybe he’ll make a comeback, but right now he’s just sucking it up.

Post match, Ted Dibiase returned and joined Manu and Sim Snuka in attempting to pounce on Randy Orton! Team Priceless looked together once again and the tension was huge! Orton struck Manu, then Cody hit Sim Snuka and the melee ensued into having Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes joining Legacy, and kicking out Snuka and Manu! Yep.

The Divas match never happened. Melina got brutally attacked as she was coming down the stage. I didn’t care, and you shouldn’t care either.

Shawn Michaels defeated John Cena

A ppv caliber match up? I’m not one hundred percent sure if this is going to make anyone’s top ten list. This match was basically back and forth, with both men looking really strong. John Cena looked poised to take this one, as he was really on some great rolls in this match up. He really had things going for him, but Shawn Michaels had counters for all of John Cena’s big moves, and really made a showing. JBL was ringside, looking serious, and Shawn Michaels was out there like a man possessed! Wow, this match was a lot longer than any other Raw match in recent memory. They really went out there and put on a show that the live crowd could get behind, and something that even us Jaded fans could get behind! Shawn Michaels was really out there looking like he had some great hopes, and John Cena was hanging in there move for move which was great! I thought this one was over when Cena got hit with a powerbomb reversal off of a third rope FU attempt! This prompted HBK to miss the big elbow! This match then got really good with the STFU locked in right in front of JBL! Cena missed the FU and ran into JBL for a split second and then ran right into the SUPER KICK! HBK OVER CLEAN! HBK defeats John Cena in one of the longest matches on Raw in recent memory! Good stuff here folks, seriously, good stuff here.

WWE Raw 1/5/09 Review and Results

Tonight’s Raw opens up with Chris Jericho and Randy Orton in the ring protesting last week’s fatal four way results. This prompted HBK and JBL to come out to the ring, finally prompting Stephanie McMahon to come out and declare that despite complaints, Orton and Jericho have no major complaint, and that she doesn’t care what they say. McMahon, not only gets pictured from the waist down with a mini skirt on, she also makes a match for tonight; John Cena & HBK vs. Chris Jericho & Randy Orton, which should be an instant classic, but it’s not ppv, so it probably won’t be.

Goldust & Melina defeated Beth Phoenix & Santino

This match was interesting to say the least, as Santino was getting cheered, and Goldust finally got a match on Raw. This was good, Goldust did not show any major signs of ring rust, even though he hasn’t been on raw in a long time. At least not on a wrestling capacity, but this was looking to be quite well. Melina won after pinning Beth Phoenix with som sort of top rope move. Goldust and Melina win a match together, and hopefully Goldust gets more to do on Raw.

Cm Punk defeated William Regal via Disqualification

The intercontinental championship was on the line for the first time in a while on raw. Cm Punk looked good out there against William Regal, but all eyes were on Layla which looked amazing in that black dress and boots. This match was going into interesting roads, and it looked like Cm Punk was poised to win this one. Punk hit his high knee into the corner, and then set up the GTS, but Regal held onto the ropes, then held onto the ref forcing him to get disqualified. Regal walks out with the champion still in tact, but Stephanie McMahon shows up on the big screen to announce that Regal has to give Punk a rematch and next time, the title can change hands via dq.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler introduces himself to Mickie James, and Manu gets thrown out of the Legacy group.

The Miz & John Morrison defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kofi Kingston

The tag team champions really had their hands full in this match. Mysterio and Kingston were really all over the place, putting a major hurting on champs. However, within a commercial break, the champions got back into the game and were really showing off why they are the tag team champions. The end came when Mysterio jumped off the top rope and was met with a huge sidekick by John Morrison, in mid air! Morrison and Miz win yet again, in this three to four start match on Raw.

Post match, Mike Knox came in and beat down Rey Mysterio. What is funny is that this is the same story line that we saw Rey Mysterio in back a few years ago with none other than A-Train. Remember? This exact same scenario led to a Rey Myserio knee injury that put him on the shelf for almost a year. Looks like WWE really likes making Rey Mysterio work for that pay check, huh?

Kelly Kelly defeated Jillian

This as a throwaway match for me, nothing crazy here. Jillian can’t really wrestle, and while Kelly has shown some signs of improvement, and some good overall matches before, this wasn’t one of those good ones.

Post match, Kane came out to save Kelly Kelly from getting a beat down. But says that he’s going to kill Randy Orton next week.

Sim Snuka & Cody Rhodes defeated Cryme Tyme

I didn’t think this was going to go well for the legacy team, but they seemed to be holding their own out there amidst a more experienced tag team partnership. The majority of the match had Cryme Tyme in control, until Cody Rhodes managed to drop his opponent with what appeared to be a rolling ddt, and it was all over. Good stuff overall, not too crazy, and just enough to make this watchable for me.

Shawn Michaels & John Cena defeated Chris Jericho & Randy Orton

Cena looked great out there, and it seemed that any problems that may have come from tagging with Shawn Michaels were to be averted. Nothing crazy happened, until midway through the match Cena nearly delivered the FU to Shawn Michaels, after getting raked in the eyes. Other than that, the majority of the match was Cena taking a major beating and Shawn Michaels not even trying to help. Shawn Michaels eventually got tagged in and he was not laying puppet to JBL and even got the pin to win this match up!

Overall a good Raw. Nothing too crazy to mention, as there is still some time before the Rumble to build the story lines more. There's a lot going on in and around the wwe universe, and the matches are starting to get a little better and more exciting.

WWE Raw 12/29/08 Results and Review HBK Idiot

Instead of getting a match opening this episode of Raw opens up with Rey Mysterio in the ring. He asks for a match with Shawn Michaels, and HBK accepts! However, JBL comes out and tells him that HBK no longer can answer for himself. Amidst Rey Mysterio talking and trying to get HBK to return back to the ring, Mike Knox came out and beats the crap out of him, proving yet again that the WWE hates Rey Mysterio. John Cena comes out to save him, and Knox runs away like a coward.

CM Punk defeated Cody Rhodes

Apparently, if Rhodes didn’t win he’d be out of the new Orton stable that is forming. Cm Punk was really putting on a desperate attempt to win against punk. Punk didn’t look so good. He had his arm taped up, and you could visibly see a bruise on his leg from previous matches where he got hit hard. Cm Punk launched himself head first onto the outside and hit his head really hard on the announce table, which was interesting to say the least. William Regal distracted Punk and Rhodes jumped into the ring for a count out victory. Not exactly the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. But I guess you just have to go with it.

Melina won a divas battle royal

The winner of this match would get a women’s title match. This match was short, and it was basically an over the top rope affair. Melina won after throwing out Mickie James. This match up was boring to say the least, nothing really happened until after the match was over. Melina and Beth Phoenix started fighting on the announce table, which was kind of cool. Beth Phoenix’s biggest fan jumped out of the audience and helped Beth out, but was thrown out by security.

Sim Snuka defeated Charlie “Superfly” Haas

Sim Snuka basically beat the crap out of Haas for coming out dressed as his father Jimmy Snuka. This match was a jobber show, and while Haas did get some minor offense in there, it wasn’t all that great at all. Snuka is better here than when he was part of that greaser gimmick on Smackdown, but not by much. Haas went for the superfly flash but man, Snuka put his knees up and Haas really took a beating, it was bad. He had to have all the wind knocked out of him. Snuka beats Haas yet again.

John Cena, Cryme Tyme, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Kofi Kingston defeated Kane, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison, and Mike Knox

This match started out with such great momentum. Kofi Kingston was putting on a show as usual, and this time he seemed to a have a little more control than usual. He was in there doing all the best high spots, and proving yet again that he very well maybe the next big thing. We then went to commercial, and you could telegraph what would happen on the return. Yep, Rey Mysterio was getting beat up by the monster team, and they were tagging in and out, basically proving my comments that the wwe hates rey mysterio. Mysterio hit the reverse hurricanrana on Morrison and the crowd went nuts! He then tagged in John Cena and the champ started to clean house, and this match just turned into high spot heaven. Cena was hitting anything that moved and for once the crowd was fully behind him. John Cena hit the FU on Mike Knox and then tagged in Rey Mysterio to finish him off! Mysterio hit the splash and it was all over!

Matt Hardy defeated Manu

Manu put in some great effort in this match up. He was giving it his all and Matt Hardy just proved to be too much for the second generation superstar. The match was alright for the most part, Hardy was taking a beating for the most part of this match up, and was on rails to lose this one but Manu got hit with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere and boom; Manu loses this one and is possibly going to get kicked out of Legacy, the new Orton stable.

Jbl defeated Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels

You couldn’t get this match to be any more emotional at the end. This match was good, it had a lot of moments with great position and strategy. I was hoping for Chris Jericho to win, but he was eliminated early on. Orton stuck around towards the end, but didn’t last through an HBK sweet chin music. It came down to JBL and HBK and JBL ordered his employee to lay down, but HBK couldn’t do it. This was full of tense moments and nothing happened, just the two people staring at each other and things were not looking good for the heart break kid. Shawn eventually, after a long drawn out pause, laid down for JBL. The last time I saw someone lay down for anyone was in WCW when Kevin Nash laid down for Hulk Hogan after the one finger of doom, that was classic. Or maybe Hogan laid down again in 2001, I don’t remember all that well, I think it was 2000 actually. Either way, Shawn Michaels couldn’t lay down so he asked for the Clothesline from Hell and JBL obliged with hellacious force knocking our HBK and wins a title shot thanks to HBK basically throwing the match. This was tense folks, I can’t explain it any better, it was very tense.

Overall a good raw, nothing too crazy, and just good overall wrestling, I liked it this week.
