John Cena Telegraphing A Heel Turn On Monday Night Raw

photo wwe.com

John Cena will turn heel. This angle that the WWE is presenting right now smells of a heel turn. The components are all in place. The same thing has happened in the past. You have a faction that smells of McMahon, and it's building into a powder keg. This Sunday at the Survivor Series, look for John Cena and one other man to be left behind against insurmountable odds.

When Cena feels the pressure, and the fans are all with him, united to hit someone with his finisher, or a chair, or interfere at a moment's notice, watch for the turn. After the turn and the McMahons winning, look for Cena to embrace Triple H, Rollins, and the others to showcase the he is now gone corporate.

John Cena is all but telegraphing a heel turn right now.

Oh no?

Well, consider the Invasion angle where Stone Cold turned. Or what about when The Rock turned corporate? Every major superstar turns, and if John Cena is set for a heel turn, it's going to be this sunday.

That's the story that I kept seeing from Raw. Then again, perhaps we are getting ready to see Brock Lesnar return and cost Cena the match, leading into a 3 stages of hell match for the final ppv of the year? It's all up in the air, and I'm not reading spoilers, so let's see how the dominos fall.

The intercontinental match on Raw was good too, but other than that, things weren't too memorable on Raw last night.

Cena to turn Heel.

The Trick Or Street Fight Rules

Dean Ambrose defeated Cesaro in a Trick or Street Fight

src wwe
Last week on Smackdown the main event was awesome, and instead of reviewing and breaking down every minute of the show, I'd rather focus on what I liked and remembered. Of all the things that went down on the show, I can truly say that the best part about it was this match.

Ambrose is definitely one of the better WWE creations in a long time. Cesaro can really wrestle, and I'd like to see him get a shot at a title and defend it on a regular basis. This match in particular was hilarious with the use of pumpkins, kendo sticks painted like candy corn, and tables at ring side.

Cesaro's tough style compared to Dean Ambrose's brawling technique was the highlight here. WWE was obviously impressed enough to have a highlight package of the night that featured Ambrose coming off the ropes through a table with a witches broom, no joke.

Overall, the Trick or Street Fight was a success, and even though Ambrose won, I like Cesaro's fighting spirit. If you get a chance to check out the showcase, go for it, and see what you may have missed.

Remember When Vince McMahon's Limo Blew Up?

This post was written for a magazine that shut down. At the time people were speculating whether or not Vince McMahon's limo really did blow up with him inside it. So here you go:

The WWE is known for pulling out all the stops when the chips are down, or when there is strong competition. However, in recent years, the stunts that the WWE has pulled have been less than spectacular and proven fake. The limousine explosion that concluded a very special edition of WWE Raw was completely fake, and anyone who believes that it was real, is missing the point of wrestling and should stop watching it now. However, this is not the first time that we've seen the WWE involved in an odd angle which was completely fabricated for media attention. While the WWE did do it all as a stunt, no one can deny that they evoked a lot of media attention and boosted ratings, when they were in a slump. There are three major events that can be linked to publicity stuns in recent memory for wrestling fans; Mike Tyson getting into a fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Billy and Chuck's gay marriage on Smackdown, and most recently the limousine exploding. These three events sparked interest in the WWE from fans, as well as the media, however one must not forget that they were just publicity stunts, and nothing more.

Consider the year 1998, the WWE was seeing a steady increase in fans, however there was not a clear cut defined winner in the Monday Night Wars that were occurring at the time. The day after the Royal Rumble, on Monday Night Raw, Mike Tyson made a special appearance, but was interrupted by the number one contender to the WWE title at the time, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin went on a verbal tirade, much to the dismay of Mr. McMahon, causing a stir with the audience and notable reaction. When Tyson and Stone Cold got into each others faces, and Austin flipped Tyson the Bird, pandemonium ensued and the ring was cleared, Austin was arrested, and the media blitz began. The next day all sports pages had a picture of Tyson shoving Steve Austin, and no one could determine whether or not it was a stunt, or if it was an ad libbed venture into live television. We all know it was all for show, as Austin took over the WWE Championship later that year at Wrestlemania, defeating Shawn Michaels for the coved top spot in the WWE.

Now fast forward to where the Smackdown brand was getting notoriety in the news, with mainstream media publishing articles, and major talk shows having a tag team duo known for more than just wrestling together on their show talking about some interesting subject matter. Billy & Chuck were paired together and the gay factor was risen to all new levels. In a publicity stunt that was cleverly disguised as a real event, the WWE decided to run a story line where Billy & Chuck would become life partners through marriage, live on WWE's Smackdown program. Gay advocates jumped on the chance to promote this as a positive thing, and were quick to praise the WWE for their efforts to solidify Gay characters on their programming, showing a line of brevity that most shows at the time were not doing. During the ceremony, there was a melee, and the two were never married, but were instead pummeled by a debuting tag team by the name of 3 Minute Warning. This too was heavily covered by print and major media, only to be subdued into a ratings pusher, and stunt, that has never been revisited again.

Finally, the stunt that involved the WWE chairman was indeed a stunt. A stunt that got major media involved, and major news sources trying to figure out if the stunt was real or not, much to their dismay, it was a stunt and the WWE chairman was alive and well. WWE is known for sports entertainment, and when these sorts of things happen, one must consider the fact that they are in a business model that promotes outlandish stories, in the back drop of wrestling. The WWE would never allow a real situation to air like this, and if you are not convinced, then count how many times Owen Hart's death is mentioned or shown on the air. I rest my case.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/27 Review - Super Cena Still Alive

Src WWE.com
Make this two in a row for the Mexican. I saw Raw on HULU and while it’s not 100% the same, it is better than nothing at all, since the alternative is in fact nothing at all. I’m still trudging through WCW Spring Stamped 1998, and I swear it’s better than most of the WWE offerings today.

Up front, my favorite highlight was Randy Orton’s RKO from out of nowhere. “I’ll calm down when he’s dead” was a great line, and the RKO reminded me of how grand DDP was/is. The RKO looked great, and Triple H looked seriously mad. Speaking of which, Stephanie McMahon is one hot Milf, yeah I said it. Good for you Triple H.

Goldust and Stardust defeated Mark Henry and Big Show

BORING! I telegraphed that turn for Henry, and no one wants to see them feud. I don’t, you don’t, I’m sick of it. The match was ok at best, but it was obviously something bad.

Aj Lee defeated Alicia Fox

This wasn’t part of the HULU showcase, so I don’t know what happened in the match itself. It sounds boring.

John Cena rejecting to be part of the Triple H crew was a nice touch. However, look for a HEEL turn finally at Survivor Series. I wouldn’t be surprised if we finally get that turn we’ve all been pining for from Cena. I hope and pray that it happens at Survivor Series.

The Usos defeated The Miz and Damien Mizdow

This didn’t air on Hulu, but I am going to say that it sucked anyways.

Ryback defeated Bo Dallas

I still BOLIEVE!

Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro (No Contest)

This was ok I guess. Ambrose beat up Cesaro with a microphone, and that was that.

Naomi defeated Nikki Bella

This wasn’t terrible, but I was having an issue with Paypal so I was on the phone at the same time.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kane

This match started because Ziggler may be one of the members of Team Cena at Survivor Series, which may be nice, but we’ll see what happens. This match was ok at best, Kane is looking tired and old. I’ve never liked him, so that doesn’t help. Ziggler is solid as ever, give the guy the title already.

John Cena defeated Seth Rollins

This match was solid, and really well placed. Seth Rollins is gold out there, and Cena definitely works well with just about anyone. The match was broken up at the end, when Kane interfered and it just foiled a really good match. Overall, I don’t hate the idea of Cena turning or winning later on, but Rollins is definitely going to go far if he keeps it up, and that’s what matters here.

Raw on HULU was good, I have no complaints other than perhaps there was too much talking and not enough wrestling, but that’s expected from the WWE these days. That’s my reviews for now, and of course I’ll do more if I watch more, but as it stands, Raw and the PPV get enough gusto for the site. I may see Smackdown too, but we’ll see what happens. If you’re still out there, drop me a line tell me your thoughts, and please, help support the site by using the amazon links wherever you see them.

WWE Hell In A Cell 2014 - Finally Sir Jorge Comes Back To Writing About Wrestling

src wwe
WWE Hell In A Cell 2014 Review

What's this? A review from your favorite Mexican. I finally caved in and purchased WWE Network. So far I don't have any complaints. I was watching WCW Spring Stampede 97 earlier today and it's amazing how much better it is without the old VHS tape I used to own. I don't know if you guys remember but I used to have the biggest and baddest WWF/ECW/WCW/AAA and New Japan tape collection. I sold it all on ebay in 2006 cause I was getting married. It sucked, I regret it, but whatever. This is not about me, it's about you and me and the rest of the WWE Universe watching Hell In A Cell on PPV or streaming like I did. Here are my thoughts on the matches, let me know if you saw it, if you liked it or if you think I'm an idiot.

Mark Henry defeated Bo Dallas

I don't know about you guys, but I BOLIEVED! And I was dumb because Mark Henry beat up Bo Dallas in a matter of moments. I still BOLIEVE though, he'll be back, I hope.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Cesaro

Dolph Ziggler is the best WWE superstar in the world. He can bump, he can fly, he can wrestle like the best I've seen. I've been singing his praises since I saw him against Rey Mysterio in 2007 or 2008. Whatever the case is, he's an incredible asset and while Cesaro is just as good, I thought this match deserved a higher placement on the card. I liked it. Man, Amy Schumer used to date Ziggler, wonder what that was like....not that I'm a big Amy Schumer fan, but oh who's kidding, Dolph is the MAN in and out of the ring.

Nikki Bella defeated Brie Bella

These two really fought each other hard, I liked it. But I admit, I am not a big divas fan. I liked this match though, it had some good moments. I don't care for the story line, and miss Daniel Bryan's goat face.

Goldust and Stardust defeated The Usos

I honestly fell asleep during this match. I was tired I guess. I don't know, it just didn't hold my attention. I think the tag team division still sucks, and they need to revamp it and have long standing tag teams that are worth watching, not these idiots.

John Cena defeated Randy Orton

Now this was a good match up. I thought I was going to hate this one, but nope, Cena and Orton can put on a show, and they did so here. Orton took some nice bumps, but it was Cena's timing that really worked well here, or should I say didn't work well since he got hit with an RKO out of nowhere. Orton's coming into a DDP element if you ask me. It's quite fascinating how this is all working out. I loved the match, but didn't like Cena winning yet again. Overall solid outing. No complaints from me. Perhaps no blood, that would've been a nice touch.

Sheamus defeated The Miz

I don't like The Miz. How did this guy main event Wrestlemania and CM Punk didn't? I don't get it. I hate this guy. Sandow is wasted here, but the comedic timing is golden, so maybe I'm just wrong. Sheamus won after the "BRO" kick. I'll never call it by the real name, I like the "BRO" aspect. This match was ok, but predictable for me. Sheamus needs better competition.

Rusev defeated Big Show

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Big SLOW sucks. SLOOOWWW and boring. Rusev wins again. Who cares?! I hope Kurt Angle comes in and beats him, that's all I can really say about this. Otherwise, this is just another wasted angle to me.

AJ Lee defeated Paige

Not a terrible match, but not one that was memorable either. The divas division is lacking real wrestling talent, or bigger women. These women are little and well, boring to me. Aj Lee has gotten better though, so kudos there for retaining the title.

Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose

This was a highlight filled match up. I love the start of the match on the cage, I loved the sick bump off the center of the cage, and then things got more insane. Seth Rollins just reminds me of a broke ass CM PUNK. This guy is getting a push when Punk didn't? I don't like it, but that's life. Seth Rollins' in ring gear sucks in my opinion. Dean Ambrose is solid, a sick wrestler with a great overall style. I don't recall specific bumps that I really loved, but I recall Ambrose putting on a clinic of brawling proportions. Rollins is rad for taking a lot of punishment, and winning despite it all, well isn't he the lucky one? Bray Wyatt interfered and cost the match in a predictable fashion. I like where this is going, so we'll see how things work out in the future.

Well well, this PPV was good overall. I liked it, but I fell asleep. That's not an indication of a bad line up, I was just tired. I sorely miss a world title match, and CM Punk not being there sucks too. Other than that, this was a good overall PPV that I will definitely peg as my favorite this year.

WWE Extreme Rules 2014 Results and Review

WWE Extreme Rules 2014 Results

Torito defeated Hornswoggle

Paige defeated Tamina Snuka

Quality match, Paige is far better than any other diva, and Tamina is a good overall foe. I liked the match and find Paige sexy.

Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena

Lackluster cage match, nothing really worth mentioning. Yes, there was a creepy kid, but who cares...the match sucked.

The Shield defeated Evolution

High quality match with Seth Rollins going "new jack" on Evolution diving off the balcony. Loved that. Batista losing and getting beaten was good. Overall high quality match, hopefully that's the end of Evolution for a long time.

Bad News Barrett defeated Big E

Bad News is the new champ, this was a boring match.

Cesaro defeated RVD and Jack Swagger

Ok matchup, decent pace, RVD is way over, but lost in the shuffle here.

Alexander Ruseve defeated R Truth and Xavier Woods

Boring match, lame gimmick, hot Russian blonde though.
Daniel Bryan defeated Kane

The worst match on PPV I've seen in a long time. WWE has followed up Wrestlemania with the worst match I've seen. Not since Mankind vs The Rock has a match been so blatantly boring and stupid. I'm referring to the match during Superbowl halftime years ago. Daniel Bryan picks up the win, but Kane was stupid throughout. The table fire spot was poorly executed, and no one cares for this match, but whatever.

Overall, this is the worst ppv of 2014 thus far. WWE really knows how to bore people that's for sure.

Ultimate Warrior Dead at 54

WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.

It saddens me to report that The Ultimate Warrior has died. RIP Warrior, I'll see you in heaven brother!

WWE Wrestlemania 30 Results and Minor Review

WWE had an incredible run, and their 30th wrestlemania was something that is definitely worth noting. I finally got to see it and it’s definitely something that people are talking about. I didn’t see the preshow but the USOS won their match.

No sign of that chump, quitter CM PUNK, so good riddance. That idiot can sit on his couch and get fat like a damn quitter.

The USOS defeated 4 other teams in the tag match that I didn’t see.

Daniel Bryan defeated Triple H

This match was good, Triple H really had a hard time in this one. Stephanie McMahon is hot, really hot. Hunter lost this one, but not without an incredible bout, I loved it. Bryan moves forward. Bret Hart had to be proud.

The Shield defeated Kane and the New Age Outlaws

This match was fast, and I don’t remember much about it. The Shield are ok, I guess.

Cesaro won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

This was a lot of fun, and seeing Cesaro body slam the crap out of Big Show was awesome. Cesaro is one of the best talents I’ve seen in a long time. I hope they do more with him. The European Uppercut he gave to Ziggler was an unstoppable force, I thought Ziggler was absolutely dead, I couldn’t believe it.

John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt

Cena was in top form here, and Wyatt is a perfect foe. HOWEVER, Wyatt should’ve won this match. He’s playing the RAVEN vibe. Remember when Raven took on Chris Benoit at Souled Out? Same thing here. Same thing, but Wyatt is in top form. Cena is odd now, I don’t know where his character is going.

Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker

DING DONG THE STREAK IS DEAD! The Undertaker’s overrated streak is finally over, good riddance. GOOD RIDDANCE! I fell asleep during this match.

Aj Lee won the divas match up

Daniel Bryan defeated Orton and Batista

This was a great match, I loved it. I loved the way it all went down, and Bryan is going to have a huge target on his back.

Overall a good wrestlemania, but not the greatest. I didn’t get that epic vibe here. I think that Triple H should’ve stopped Bryan. However, I get it. Taker’s streak is done, good riddance. Cm Punk showing up, would’ve been epic, but nope. That chump is long gone, good riddance too.

Daniel Bryan's House of Yes!

"The whole arena was chanting, 'Yes! Yes! Yes!'" Bryan recalls of the night that same year when he realized fans had latched on to his motto. "I didn't predict it; I didn't plan it. It just happened, and you feel lucky to be a part of it."

Rolling stone has a solid feature on Daniel Bryan, the culture of the "YES!" chant, and Wrestlemania this weekend. Quite the cool little read. More at Rolling Stones Website here.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results and Review 4/1/2014

src wwe.com
Undertaker came out and did a speech, and it was boring. BORING. Undertaker is so overrated.

Brock Lesnar came out after Heyman talked and Lesnar got the better of Taker with an F5! I miss the FU. Anyways, Taker was left in the middle of the ring, and Raw started hot and heavy.

The Wyatt’s cut a promo, then Triple H and Stephanie came out. They shoot on this one, wow. Triple H and Stephanie called Fandango a flavor of the week etc.

The whole talking is too much for me. I’m bored with this random talking and set up. I really pine for the days of pure wrestling, match after match instead of long winded build up. Batista comes out and blah blah, right? Ugh.

Los Matadores and The Usos defeated The Real Americans and Rybaks

A well rounded match up here, with a good amount of wrestling and some great overall spots. It was fast paced and in the end, it was a classic switch that won the match. I liked it, although I’m not sure about the reasoning behind the match. Oh, they announced a new wrestlemania match for this Sunday.

Bray Wyatt defeated R Truth

Bray Wyatt is one of the most impressive characters and wrestlers in WWE. I haven’t seen anything like this in a long time, and it works very well for the future of the WWE and his match against Cena this weekend. I could see CENA going down and joining the Wyatt family. That would be impressive, and I think that this is a great one.

After the match, CENA showed up with a mask, and it was epic! This got a rise out of the crowd, and I was impressed, finally Cena did something worthwhile, and the crowd reacted huge. I love how it showed up, and I love how it forced the Wyatt’s to get scared a little. We’ll see what happens at Mania, this is an exciting turn of events.

Naomi defeated Aj Lee in a lumber jill match

The divas title is boring. This match was ok, but it bored me. I don’t know what to say, it was short, sweet, and the divas hating Aj works for me.

Kane vs. Roman Reigns

This match sucked. Roman Reigns and Kane fought a bit, but out came the New Age Outlaws and caused a riot. The Shield sucks now. The mania match may be interesting, we’ll see. This was dumb.

Piper’s Pit brokw out into a huge brawl. This was quite possibly the worst Piper’s Pit I’ve seen in a long time. Rey Mysterio’s still wrestling? Geez.

Randy Orton vs Batista No DQ Match Non Finish

This match was ok, but the best part of it all was Daniel Bryan showing up and beating the holy hell out of Triple H. Batista and Bryan’s back and forth was good, and definitely appealed to the crowd. Triple H flopping around was fun too. Since when does Triple H flop like this though? He was flopping around like Shawn Michaels.

Overall Raw was ok. The ending was lame. Daniel Bryan was alone in the ring and the crowd was chanting. I didn’t care for it, I don’t care about all of this. However, I will be watching Mania, as it’s a tradition 30 years in the making. If CM Punk shows up, he’ll save the show, otherwise I’m bored with the current product and it’s only been a couple of weeks.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results and Review 3/24/14

SRC wwe.com
What’s this? I’m back suckaaaasssss! That’s right, Sir Jorge is back in business thanks to a few gigs writing and a lot of time on social media busting balls. Before I get into the review, I want to say that CM PUNK SUCKS. The review is based on the HULU version of Raw, because I do not/cannot afford cable.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results and Review

This Monday, Stephanie came out to talk about last week’s actions against Daniel Bryan. Stephanie is marvelous at the role of trying to push the fans, and it’s grand. Orton came out to talk about how he’s going to win, which is what all the champions do. I hate Orton. He has the charisma of a paper plate. I hate these long intros, but you, you already knew that.

CM Punk quits because of Batista.

When Batista’s music hit, that’s all I could think about. Batista isn’t the best, but he didn’t quit like Punk did and walk away like a chump. His music hit and of course we got more discourse. A slow start to Raw, in my view. Stephanie slapped the hell out of Dave and basically called her a SLUT! I loved it.

Goodbye Stephanie! Great opening segment that led to a spear by Batista. I do not think Batista is the next champion. I don’t think Bryan is either. I’m thinking Punk returns to screw Bryan over. Orton retains then goes back to being backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowbooys.

Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio in Fatal Four Way Match

Christian’s run has to be coming to an end. This match was a spot fest for the most part, and I don’t mind that. I love seeing as much wrestling as we can get, and not everything has to be a hard fought technical masterpiece ala Dean Malenko. This match sufficed to entertain, and Chrsistian’s win comes as a surprise to me. I thought Ziggler would win, especially after the top rope fame-asser…I forget what it’s called now, but who cares. Good match, solid ending, Christian gets a shot at the IC title, and will lose.

Triple H turned into the “GAME” and said he’d be champion, which I didn’t care for.

Hogan up next and his segment in which The Miz came out and tried to assert his dominance. Cheap pops abounded, and Hogan was welcomed with warm arms. Miz then got beat up by some random idiot and then got hit by Arnold and Hogan. A Real World joke was made, and I got bored, you did too, admit it. Where’s the wrestling at?

John Cena vs. Luke Harper NO Contest

John Cena really meshed well with Luke Harper. Harper is a dirty wrestler, and it shows, while Cena tried to mix in his signature moves. Cena does a good job staying in character, and his move set is offset by Luke’s constant changes and random brawling style. I like how Harper is a throw back of sorts, moving through wrestling moves and just brawling, which is just good. Harper is wild, and it shows with how he works with Cena. The lights went out and Cena was left tied to the ropes in a weird mask, and that was that. The crowd was insanely happy, I was confused, and the Wyatt family once again prove to be the best thing on WWE Raw right now.

Naomi defated Aj Lee by count out

AJ Lee was supposed to wrestle Naomi but got herself counted out fast. I don’t like the divas division, and this once again proves why. I hate it. Vickie came out to say that AJ Lee would wrestle Naomi, Cameron, Brie Bella, Nicki Bella, Natalya, Eva Marie, Emma, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Summer Ray, Rosa Mendes, Layla, and Tamina in the first ever Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship invitational.

The Shield defeated The Real Americans

This match was ok, nothing too spectacular. The Real Americans seem to push a great team, and The Shield is showing signs of weakness. I’m not sure what the gimmicks are here, but they are definitely pushing the beat downs to all new levels. I guess they are ok, but eh, I don’t really care for them. The Real Americans bore me, and it feels like The Shield is just second fiddle to the Wyatt Family. Entertaining match though, so I liked that. Apparently The Shield will wrestle the Corporate Outlaws and Kane at Wrestlemania…boring.

Heyman came out to talk about Lesnar and Undertaker….it bored me. Oh and Undertaker came out and did a little shuffle with lesnar, but who cares? Undertaker is overrated. The streak is lame, and I proved that long ago.

Overall Raw Rating: 3/5

The show was light on wrestling, heavy on talk. That's how things go in the WWE today, I presume. The build up to Wrestlemania is getting stronger, but with these throwaway matches, I'm not sure I'd invest heavily. Oh well.

CM Punk vs. Undertaker Wrestlemania 30 Confirmed

The news right now is that CM PUNK has left the WWE.

If he has in fact left, could it be that he is going to wrestle Undertaker one more time at Mania?

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in that way. Punk isn't gone, he may have gone home but that's only because The Undertaker is coming back.

It will be Punk going after the streak 1 more time. Why not Lesnar? Because Punk vs Taker 2 could be the show stealer that everyone is not expecting or talking about.

Last year I was way off with Sting vs. Undertaker.

This year, Sting has reportedly signed with wwe.

Well, here it is, I'm going to lay it out yet again and go bold with my prediction.

CM PUNK vs UNDERTAKER Wrestlemania 30

Bank on it!

WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Review

src wwe.com
Thanks 100% to wrestlingdesires.com, for letting me in on the chat and conversation as well as information from the Rumble. I couldn’t believe I won a contest and was able to enjoy the show.

The Royal Rumble 2014 is the first PPV that I’ve seen in a long time. I haven’t watched RAW or any other show since I don’t have cable and I am 100% broke.

New Age Outlaws defeated Rhodes Bros.

I saw the second half of this match and didn’t realize it was free on WWE.com until I was in a chat. Apparently the older guys get the rub in the tag division? They are entertaining enough, but I didn’t find the match all that compelling. I was just excited to see wrestling, so I guess that’s well enough. However, why feature two older teams? Cody isn’t that old, but still, these guys should allow for better, younger tag teams to get in there. I miss the days of good tag matches.

Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan

Bray Wyatt is one of the coolest wrestling characters I’ve seen in a long time, and the dude can work. He works really well and he plays on the persona and wrestling prowess all mixed into one. Daniel Bryan needs a villain of this caliber to get moving forward, and I loved the match. I thought it was a great way to start the PPV proper. I liked it.

Brock Lesnar defeated The Big Slow

I’m sick of the Big Slow, as I’ve been calling him for years now. Hopefully this beat down forces him into retirement. He’s old and his prime is behind him. Show, retire man, and just rest. Lesnar, well, he is a shadow of what he used to be.

Randy Orton defeated John Cena

This match was not very good. Orton is my least favorite WWE superstar and I’ve always said he sucked. He still does. I’m sorry, he’s awful. Cena is ok. Cena pushes the envelope a little here and there but I’ve already seen this match 900 times. I didn’t like it that much, and the ending was definitely a good point. The Wyatt family showed up, caused Cena the match, and that was that. I like where they may be going with this.

Batista Wins the Rumble

Cm Punk entering number one was awesome. I loved it. I liked how he lasted a long time in the match up, and how Kane took him out. Hopefully Punk gets a title shot for this. The rest of the match seemed telegraphed to me. Reigns in the end getting a lot of attention, and was more praised than Batista. Batista is thinner, faster, and looks really good. I thought I saw a little ring rust, but overall, he’s a good fit in the WWE right now. Keep him off the mic.

The Rumble overall was great. I loved it. However, I couldn’t help but feel that Batista winning is a misstep in the whole thing. The ending should’ve been changed to allow Reigns to win and get out of The Shield. Batista losing would be far better I think, especially if they played it like Bret Hart’s losses. The bitterness angle could work great, especially with the terrible crowd last night. They seemed to be out of it for the most part. Oh and the surprises sucked. Nash? El Torito? Really? Lame.
