The WWE Cruiserweight Classic had their final second round matches and it sets up the quarterfinals as the tournament continues. So far, I’ve seen all sorts of wrestling, but these last few bouts have been rather interesting. With that in mind, let’s discuss the following break down of 3 matches that made up the final second round offerings from August 24, 2016.

WWE Cruiserweight Classic August 24, 2016 Review

Rich Swann def. Lince Dorado (Second Round Match)

Lince Dorado is a great lucha style wrestler. Swann has some great swagger and good backstory. This match was interesting, focusing on a mixed bag of wrestling. I don’t like Lince’s offense at times, it makes no sense to me. That’s my problem with a lot of the smaller guys, though. They are doing unnecessary things to entertain, but they defy logic. For instance, a plancha off the top to someone on the floor is unnecessary if the guy is already groggy. That’s just my two cents. This match was interesting with Swann going over with a strong style finish.

Zack Sabre Jr. def. Drew Gulak (Second Round Match)

This was an outstanding match up. I wasn’t convinced that Zack Sabre Jr. was worth the hype until I saw him in this one. Drew Gulak put on a showcase of strong style, fast paced mat wrestling, but it was Sabre Jr. that made me a believer. He took on the offense that Gulak had and then threw down some serious punishment, reversals, and just impressive move set. These guys were playing chess in the ring, and it was definitely the best I’ve seen in the tournament thus far.

T.J. Perkins def. Johnny Gargano (Second Round Match)

This main event was everything you’d want in a professional wrestling match. The match featured a lot of elements of standard mat wrestling, and some great back and forth high flying. Perkins has the charisma thing on lock, and Gargano’s precision is great to see. This was a match you’ll want to go back and watch this thing again. It was an instant classic in my opinion.

The Shining Spot for WWE This Week

Monday Night Raw has come and gone, and people were wondering what was going to be the fall out from Summerslam. Well, what you’re going to end up seeing is a lot more of the same old BS that made the old era, well, tired. This time around the show opened up with Finn Balor giving up the WWE Fruit Roll Up Title to Seth Rollins. It should be noted that Bret Hart said on a podcast that Seth is UNSAFE and he injures people.

Everyone had their panties in a bunch, and then the Summerslam match happened. As soon as I saw Rollins throw Balor into the barricade, I knew he was injured. I called it on twitter, I called it in my house, and yet NO ONE GAVE ME CREDIT. That’s how big my site is. Whatever. I called it first, and you can believe me or not, but Seth Rollins is unsafe, and should be fired. The guy sucks. He injured Finn Balor, he injured John Cena, he caused Sting to retire. They fired Ken Kennedy for less. Whatever. Here’s what happened on Raw, I only saw the HULU edition, and am still upset over the lackluster showing at Summerslam this year. What a crock of dog…never mind.

WWE Monday Night Raw August 22, 2016 Review

As you know I don’t run down everything that happens, I just talk about what I remember and what was actually worthwhile, so here we go.

Seth Rollins def. Sami Zayn to advance to next week's Fatal 4-Way WWE Universal Championship Match

Sami Zayn got injured in this match, or at least faked it, but you know what was funny? The commentary team kept mentioning that Seth Rollins injures people. Good job, play it up you putz. I hate the commentary on Raw. Anyways, this match wasn’t half bad, but you knew that Sami was not going to beat Rollins. The whole night was predictable, and that kind of sours the whole pro-wrestling thing for me sometimes. Rollins wins after the predictable pedigree, and that’s it. Nothing to see here. Zayn may or may not have hurt his ankle. Does it matter?

Bayley def. Dana Brooke

Bayley finally comes to the main roster, only to take the place of Sasha Banks, who is legit injured. People were saying it was a wellness violation, but it’s not, she’s just injured. She’ll be back in a month or so. Bayley, for now is going to match up well against Charlotte, but will not win. Dana Brooke put the boots to Bayley, but it was Bayley’s night to shine, so the match went well enough. Feminazis on twitter are going to hate that this match wasn’t the main event or even longer than about 10 minutes. I can already see them hating the divas revolution.

The Club Sandwich Boys beat up The Dudley Boys

The Dudleys are either kayfabe retiring, or they did not renew their contracts with WWE. They are a joke team now. The Club Sandwich guys showed up to beat up The Dudleys, but I don’t care about them. Oh and the Puerto Rican guys were out there to talk trash, only to get beat up as well. Overall bad segment.

Roman Reigns def. Chris Jericho to advance to next week’s Fatal 4-Way WWE Universal Championship Match

I knew the winner before it started. Roman wins. He’ll get to the main event spot, he’ll win, I am going back to sleep.

Final Raw Notes

In the end, Raw sucked. You know it, I know it, and everyone at the building knew it. One shining moment doesn’t make for 3 hours of fun. No mention of Brock Lesnar, or the fact that he doesn’t care about wrestling and just makes money. Also, no signs of Randy Orton, but maybe he’ll be on Smackdown to declare it’s the end of his career. Who cares, who knows, this is all a bunch of BS.

Even the HULU edition of Raw sucked this week. Maybe Smackdown will be better, I don’t know. We’ll see.

WWE Smackdown 5/26/2016 Results and Review The End of Mixed Branding

I am delayed in reviewing, as I’m doing some routine marketing things to try and boost traffic for the site, and well I didn’t catch Smackdown until now. The opening alone made me not want to watch, Michael Cole interviewed Dean Ambrose about Money in The Bank ppv. I’m already bored.

WWE Smackdown 5/26/2016 Results and Review

Dean Ambrose mouthed off about how he is the most extreme, etc. This is the lunatic? No thanks. Somewhere, Brian Pillman is wishing he had another chance to come back to wrestling. Kevin Owens showed up to talk randomly about crap, then Sami Zayn comes out and talks about Wrestlemania and what not. 20 minutes of B.S. if you ask me.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Zack Ryder

Well, this was the end for Ryder. Alberto Del Rio picked up the win, even though Ryder in no way was completely buried outright. Ryder put some offense in, but it wasn’t meant to be, as Ryder got beat yet again. No one was surprised by this, no one.

Enzo and Cass challenged The Dudleys, but it won’t happen until Raw. Boring waste of time if you ask me.

Rusev defeated Kalisto

The end of the line for Kalisto, this was his rematch for the United States championship, and well, it was all over before it could get going. Ok match, but nothing grand, that’s all. Competitive match, none the less, Kalisto got beat.

After the match Titus O’neil showed up and challenged Rusev, which was fine, but eh, nothing special. I guess he’s next.

Natalya versus Dana Brooks

This match didn’t go very long. Charlotte interfered and caused a no-finish. Charlotte beats up Natalya, and that’s that? I guess that’s the end of the feud? I don’t know, don’t care, this diva’s revolution is nothing short of boring, sorry.

There are so many flashbacks to Raw that this show just drags on. I don’t like it.

Aj Styles interviewed, and well, he looked defeated, this is the end of the burial of Aj Styles if you ask me.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango defeated R Truth and Goldust (Golden Truth)

Minor match, nothing big. Boring if you ask me. Smackdown is not a great show, just saying.

Seth Rollins showed up, cut a limited promo and then left. Nothing big here. 

The Miz defeated Cesaro 

A great overall main event for Smackdown, as these two work well together. Cesaro's shoulder was worked on, and in the end, The Miz took him out thanks to a turnbuckle that was removed by Maryse. Overall, this was the best match of the night, and possibly of the week! Great fun, great match, nice to see this type of wrestling for the intercontinental championship. Soak it in, you won't see this in the brand split, I can't believe they are doing that. 

Overall Rating: 5 out of 10

Good matches, nope, good entertainment? Not really. This was a lousy show with a good main event, that's it. 

WWE Monday Night Raw 2/17/09 Results and Review

We start off the show with Vickie Guerrero introducing Edge as the new World Heavyweight Champion, to a chorus of boos from the disappointed audience. I still can’t believe that Edge won the title at No Way Out. John Cena joined them talking about rematch, and that made me cringe a little. I do remember the two wrestling or a year straight in a variety of gimmick matches.

Shane McMahon called out Randy Orton to an unsanctioned fight before the first commercial break.

Priceless & William Regal defeated C.M Punk & Cryme Tyme

This match had an interesting dynamic between Regal and Punk. The two were fighting each other tooth and nail, and the other team mates just kind of stood by on the apron. By the time Cryme Tyme came into this match up, I knew what was going on. Another burial of Cryme Tyme as Priceless picks up the victory in this match up. It wasn’t too bad, but it was just weird to see how this went down. I wasn’t too impressed with this match at all, and felt that the wwe could’ve given us a better match. However, the Regal and Punk feud is going to boil once again with another great match up sooner than later. Maybe Regal can bring back those brass knuckles he had back a couple of years before.

Chris Jericho came out to give a speech about Mickey Rourke but was interrupted by none other than Rowdy Roddy Piper, that’s right, Roddy Piper on Raw live; but that prompted Chris Jericho to sock Piper in the face. This was a good segment, but I’m not sure where this is all going, Jericho is seriously getting heat, but who’s going to shut him up? I’m not sure what’s going on with Jericho but he has to the most hated man in wrestling right now.

Kane defeated Jamie Noble

This was hilarious. Jamie Noble actually tried to fight Kane, but he was severely mismatched and was thrown nearly through the ring with a chokeslam. This match was fast and over before Noble could do anything. Why even keep him on the roster?

Mike Knox defeated Rey Mysterio Jr.

I knew this was going to go this route. Mysterio put on a good overall show, and he did have Mike Knox cornered and looking wobbly a few times. However, Knox was just overpowering a lot of the times and I thought for sure he would defeat Mysterio in this one. However, Knox rammed his shoulder into the ring post and Mysterio took advantage with a roll up, winning this match! I thought for sure Knox had Mysterio’s number in this one, but something ended up going well for him this time.

Melina defeated Beth Phoenix

This match was terrible. Seriously, this was one of the worst matches I’ve ever seen. The divas didn’t have a good match at all. Melina eventually won with a roll up, after the rest of the divas attacked Santino at ring side. With Beth Phoenix distracted Melina rolled her up and it was over.

Randy Orton defeated Shane McMahon in an unsanctioned street fight

Randy Orton was getting taking a lot of damage in this fight. McMahon was all over him, and was doing everything he could to maul the former Champion. Orton didn’t get much in early on and even towards the middle of the match up was not in control. The end of this fight came with Priceless coming down and helping Randy Orton out, but it got worse when Randy Orton punted Shane McMahon to oblivion and he couldn’t continue any longer. Then Randy Orton hit Stephanie McMahon with the RKO! That’s right folks, after all was said and done RANDY ORTON HIT STEPHANIE MCMAHON with a picture perfect RKO! This prompted Triple H to run down and clear the ring to check in on Stephanie. Is this going to prompt a Triple H vs. Randy Orton match at Wrestlemania? I think so.

The best part of this Raw was the ending, a good overall ending to an otherwise terrible Raw.

WWE Raw 12/29/08 Results and Review HBK Idiot

Instead of getting a match opening this episode of Raw opens up with Rey Mysterio in the ring. He asks for a match with Shawn Michaels, and HBK accepts! However, JBL comes out and tells him that HBK no longer can answer for himself. Amidst Rey Mysterio talking and trying to get HBK to return back to the ring, Mike Knox came out and beats the crap out of him, proving yet again that the WWE hates Rey Mysterio. John Cena comes out to save him, and Knox runs away like a coward.

CM Punk defeated Cody Rhodes

Apparently, if Rhodes didn’t win he’d be out of the new Orton stable that is forming. Cm Punk was really putting on a desperate attempt to win against punk. Punk didn’t look so good. He had his arm taped up, and you could visibly see a bruise on his leg from previous matches where he got hit hard. Cm Punk launched himself head first onto the outside and hit his head really hard on the announce table, which was interesting to say the least. William Regal distracted Punk and Rhodes jumped into the ring for a count out victory. Not exactly the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. But I guess you just have to go with it.

Melina won a divas battle royal

The winner of this match would get a women’s title match. This match was short, and it was basically an over the top rope affair. Melina won after throwing out Mickie James. This match up was boring to say the least, nothing really happened until after the match was over. Melina and Beth Phoenix started fighting on the announce table, which was kind of cool. Beth Phoenix’s biggest fan jumped out of the audience and helped Beth out, but was thrown out by security.

Sim Snuka defeated Charlie “Superfly” Haas

Sim Snuka basically beat the crap out of Haas for coming out dressed as his father Jimmy Snuka. This match was a jobber show, and while Haas did get some minor offense in there, it wasn’t all that great at all. Snuka is better here than when he was part of that greaser gimmick on Smackdown, but not by much. Haas went for the superfly flash but man, Snuka put his knees up and Haas really took a beating, it was bad. He had to have all the wind knocked out of him. Snuka beats Haas yet again.

John Cena, Cryme Tyme, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Kofi Kingston defeated Kane, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison, and Mike Knox

This match started out with such great momentum. Kofi Kingston was putting on a show as usual, and this time he seemed to a have a little more control than usual. He was in there doing all the best high spots, and proving yet again that he very well maybe the next big thing. We then went to commercial, and you could telegraph what would happen on the return. Yep, Rey Mysterio was getting beat up by the monster team, and they were tagging in and out, basically proving my comments that the wwe hates rey mysterio. Mysterio hit the reverse hurricanrana on Morrison and the crowd went nuts! He then tagged in John Cena and the champ started to clean house, and this match just turned into high spot heaven. Cena was hitting anything that moved and for once the crowd was fully behind him. John Cena hit the FU on Mike Knox and then tagged in Rey Mysterio to finish him off! Mysterio hit the splash and it was all over!

Matt Hardy defeated Manu

Manu put in some great effort in this match up. He was giving it his all and Matt Hardy just proved to be too much for the second generation superstar. The match was alright for the most part, Hardy was taking a beating for the most part of this match up, and was on rails to lose this one but Manu got hit with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere and boom; Manu loses this one and is possibly going to get kicked out of Legacy, the new Orton stable.

Jbl defeated Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels

You couldn’t get this match to be any more emotional at the end. This match was good, it had a lot of moments with great position and strategy. I was hoping for Chris Jericho to win, but he was eliminated early on. Orton stuck around towards the end, but didn’t last through an HBK sweet chin music. It came down to JBL and HBK and JBL ordered his employee to lay down, but HBK couldn’t do it. This was full of tense moments and nothing happened, just the two people staring at each other and things were not looking good for the heart break kid. Shawn eventually, after a long drawn out pause, laid down for JBL. The last time I saw someone lay down for anyone was in WCW when Kevin Nash laid down for Hulk Hogan after the one finger of doom, that was classic. Or maybe Hogan laid down again in 2001, I don’t remember all that well, I think it was 2000 actually. Either way, Shawn Michaels couldn’t lay down so he asked for the Clothesline from Hell and JBL obliged with hellacious force knocking our HBK and wins a title shot thanks to HBK basically throwing the match. This was tense folks, I can’t explain it any better, it was very tense.

Overall a good raw, nothing too crazy, and just good overall wrestling, I liked it this week.

WWE Raw 12/15/08 Results

I'm not going to be reviewing ECW and Raw this week, I have company in my house until Thursday morning. I will be reviewing TNA Impact and Smackdown though. Sorry peeps. Don't hold it against me.

Tna Impact 12/11/08 Angle Gets Jarrett Review and Results

I’m tired again and I don’t want to watch Tna, but I somehow make it through.

The opening of the show is just the Main Event Mafia and the TNA Originals arguing about random crap. They also announce an x-division tournament to determine a new –division champion, since they have once again stripped Eric Young of the title.

Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

The first round of the tournament started with the same match we saw the last two ppv’s. The two put together a decent, although very short match. The match had no major highlights except for the Eric Young suplex roll up pinfall victory. No new ref dealings, but it was all good. Quick match, worthy of wwe velocity or something, nothing too special, and if you missed it, it wasn’t all that great. They don’t let the x-division shine on free television, where they should.

Alex Shelley defeated Black Machismo Jay Lethal

This match should have been way better, considering what went down at the ppv, but for whatever reasons, it just didn’t happen the way I expected. Once again a short, quick spot match up. The best part was definitely Jay Lethal jumping out of the ring with a suicide dive on Sabin! Sabin wasn’t even paying too much attention and it looked surprising. Shelley won a rather simple and easy match up to move on in the tournament.

James Storm defeated Abyss in a beer on a pole match

This was the worst gimmick on a pole match I’ve seen in a long time. They finally made things idiotic, a beer on a pole match? Seriously? What the heck guys? FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! Seriously, FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! This match was lame, Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam but didn’t go for the pin. Matt Morgan ran down to help, but Bobby Roode nearly knocked out Abyss with a chair, and James Storm wins this very stupid gimmick match up.

They opened up the stupid gimmick cases.

Hernandez case #4 got him: World Title shot!
Curry Man case #3 got him: Fired!
Homicide case #1 got him: X-Division Title Shot!

I knew they were going to fire Curry man. So now Christopher Daniels can be Suicide right? I don’t know.

Christy Hemme defeated Sojourner Bolt

I wasn’t surprised by this. Sojourner Bolt gave a good challenge, then the heel turn happened. Not bad. Awesome Kong might have a new ally here. Hemme freaked out after the match and attacked her opponent. This match wasn’t too memorable at all, at least I didn’t think so.

Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Kurt Angle fought to a no contest

This match was stupid to. Bubba Ray hasn’t been a relevant singles wrestler since his lonely run in WWE where he lost a lot of weight. This turned into an ECW reminder with Bubba Ray cut wide open and the two wrestlers fighting in the back stage area. This was definitely a throwback for me, because this used to happen all the time on ECW tv. Scott Steiner hit Bubba Ray Dudley with a pipe and the rest of the mafia beat him down. Lame.

Ecw 12/9/08 Results and Photos

ECW came through last night and I wasn't watching. I was busy with something else, and I don't remember what it was. But to provided you guys with some content until I come back with a full TNA Impact review, here is ECW results and photos from wwe.com, not bad huh? I'll be back later.

ECW 11/4/08 Review and Results Election Day Wrestling

We get started quickly on this edition on ECW with one of the worst match ups ever dreamed up by the ECW creative team….

Matt Hardy defeated Bam Neely

This was a stupid idea, as Bam put the boots to Matt Hardy, and for once he looked strong! Seriously, Matt Hardy was looking weak against Bam Neely! The same idiot that gets beat down week in and week out is looking like a real contender, and that bugs me greatly; however, matt hardy gets the victory! As it should be.

Finlay defeated Mark Henry

I used to hate everything Mark Henry, but you know what? He’s actually doing a little better now. He’s actually hitting a good stride and he hasn’t been injured in a while. Meanwhile, Finlay is looking good too, a little bigger than his “fit finlay” days, but he’s out there doing his thing. He takes it to Mark Henry and pulls a victory in this quick match up. Not half bad. Finlay wins by cheating, but all things are good as Finlay will not get an ECW title shot. Will Finlay be the new champ? Maybe.

ECW Results 11/4/08

This was probably one of the worst episodes of ECW I’ve ever seen. Seriously, there is no merit to this edition of ECW as it was short, it had horrible matches and a lot of talking for no apparent reason. This is a waste of an hour for ECW. At least in the olden days of ECW television they would shove in a lot of good wrestling in their allotted time slot. This is a great parody of Ecw, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile, Finlay is looking good too, a little bigger than his “fit finlay” days, but he’s out there doing his thing. He takes it to Mark Henry and pulls a victory in this quick match up. Not half bad. Finlay wins by cheating, but all things are good as Finlay will not get an ECW title shot. Will Finlay be the new champ? Maybe.

This was probably one of the worst episodes of ECW I’ve ever seen. Seriously, there is no merit to this edition of ECW as it was short, it had horrible matches and a lot of talking for no apparent reason. This is a waste of an hour for ECW. At least in the olden days of ECW television they would shove in a lot of good wrestling in their allotted time slot. This is a great parody of Ecw, that’s for sure.

ECW 10/21/08 Review and Results

We’re still in Texas for ECW (I’m not, ECW is) and we’re opening the show with Matt Hardy trying to cut a promo! Not his strong suit.

Jack Swagger defeated Bret Bradery

I went to go get some coffee from the kitchen, and Swagger had already won this match up. So there you have it folks, another squash, and it took about a minute or so, because I wasn’t gone lone. Swagger wins a squash match, and I guess it doesn’t matter very much.

Once again, I have to chime in and say that I hate squash matches. We are not living in the 80’s and we are not watching Sunday’s Wrestling Challenge or Saturday Morning Superstars. We’re in 2008 and it’s NOT necessary to see jobbers getting killed on ECW. ECW! This is suppose to be EXTREME! I’m saddened by this portrayal of wrestling.

Shad defeated The Miz via disqualification

Shad of Cryme Tyme had a singles match up with The Miz, and will most likely face him and Morrison in the near future, but this time it was a solo match. The Miz doesn’t suck as bad as when he first came out of Reality Show Stardom, and into the wwe. He’s got a lot of rest moments, but overall, he’s actually got some good moves and gets some good heat from the crowd. It’s about time too, this guy is really paying his dues. The Miz & Morrison should be called “The Hollywood Brunettes” (thanx to the announce team for that). This match was ok, nothing too crazy, but better than the first match up. Shad really looked good, and Miz put on a good show with some great offense, in what seemed to be another throwaway match up. Shad looked really strong in this match up with a lot of lariats, power moves, and a clear size and reach advantage over Miz. John Morrison interfered at the end of the match, and got Miz disqualified!

Evan Bourne defeated Finlay and Mark Henry

Overall this match up wasn’t all that great. I expected way more out of this, considering that two of the three guys are veterans in the ring. Henry looked dominant throughout this match up. It was quite good in showing that Henry is NOT just a pushover as he was shown to be on Raw on Monday. Finlay surprised me, with a lot of offense towards the end, and both Evan Bourne & Finlay looked to be the heavy favorites going towards the end of the show. Bourne was grounded for a lot of the match, and Finlay seemed to have hurt his right arm during a melee with Mark Henry. Mark Henry dropped Finlay and Evan Bourne with the world’s strongest slam! Seriously, he looked impressive with both competitors on him and dropping them like a bad habit! Henry looked to have won the match but it wasn’t to be as Finlay turned things around with a DDT out of the corner of the ring, but looked visibly hurt again, his right arm hurting. Finlay legitimately looked hurt, and I wasn’t sure if he was just selling the earlier fight with Henry, or if he had strained his pectoral muscle. Henry took advantage of this and looked like he was on his way to an easy victory, with Finlay hurt and Bourne on the outside. Tony Atlas threw Hornswoggle in the ring, but Finlay stopped the assault, which prompted Evan Bourne to jump in and hit the shooting star press for the win! That’s right, Evan Bourne hits the shooting star press for a victory over Mark Henry and Finlay in this triple threat match!

Not a bad set of matches. However this show was too short and really didn't feature some other talents. I would have preferred them not to use Swagger but used Ortiz or someone else that they have on the roster. Overall an ok night of wrestling, but like I said, way too quick for my tastes. I miss the old ECW, they could throw together a great amount of wrestling in an hour. But not wwe's version of ECW...sadly...I miss the old days.

WWE Smackdown 10/10/08 Review and Results

Here we go, a big night in WWE history, and I was expecting big things, but I'm not sure if WWE likes me or you very much, as you will see.

The new smackdown music and intro sucks. It's annoying and lackluster, what a horrible piece of crap. I hate this piece of crap intro. WWE you've outdone yourselves in the crap department with this new intro. Sad, but true.

Vickie opening the show got a lot of heat! It was awesome, I was booing from my mom's house here in Los Angeles, Ca.

Brie Bella defeated Natalya

Somewhat impressive strength from Natalya, but this match was boring. Brie Bella used her twin to win this one. Hornswoggle came out and chased out Victoria, while Natalya was distracted, Brie or her twin jumped in and gave Natalya a crucifix to pin and it was over. Brie Bella wins a poor excuse for a women's wrestling match.

R. Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin (non title match)

Here we go, it's about time, R Truth is getting a shot at Shelton Benjamin! I hate to admit it, but I like "what's up" and am caught singing along quite often. This match should be a precursor to Truth getting the U.S championship later in the month and/or year. The match started with Benjamin really putting the boots to Truth, even giving some stiff shots to the face. He was controlling every aspect of this match early on, and it really looked like he was mad at Truth for stealing his thunder. Benjamin threw Truth outside and tried to really slow down the contender, and tried to prove that he was the "Gold" standard. Truth got back into this match after a back suplex, and slowly started to break down Shelton Benjamin, really making the gold standard fight for a second wind. I thought for sure Truth had this match won with the corkscrew flying forearm, which was really impressive, but it only got a two count. Truth kept fighting, and eventually rolled up Benjamin into a small package like maneuver for the three count! Benjamin gets beaten, and most likely will have to put the title on the line later on this month against R. Truth!

Jeff Hardy defeated MVP

They are continually burying MVP and just like last week, I was under the impression that they would once again force MVP to lose. MVP used to be a viable heel in the wwe, but lately he's been fed to all comers, and is like the Tommy Dreamer of Smackdown as of late. Sure he gets some higher profile matches, but he is quickly buried by Triple H, and others lately. It's a sad downfall for MVP. Jeff Hardy hasn't really done a whole lot either, just losing to everyone. Gregory Helms came on the screen in his bubble and said that the P in MVP means "Please" as in "Please win a match, I'm just saying".

This match had Hardy in control early on, and he was proving that he was still a major player in the Smackdown crew. He was taking it to MVP and MVP really had to regroup at the commercial break. After the break, Hardy was still at it, but MVP gave Hardy one heck of a counter. While MVP was in the corner and getting set up for the special hardy dropkick with the top rope as leverage, MVP put his legs up, sending Hardy flying across the dream and the tables turned fast! MVP swooped in with some rest holds, forcing Hardy to slow down and just try to survive the endless submissions of MVP. MVP had things going his way until out of the blue he throws up a Whisper in the Wind and the tides turn towards Hardy's favor yet again! Hardy gets to the top rope and hits the Swanton Bomb, pins MVP and wins clean! MVP again loses, Hardy is back on the winning road!

The Colon's and Jesse & Festus defeated Ryan Braddock, Ryder, Hawkins, and Kenny Dykstra

This match only really served to bury Kenny, as far as I'm concerned. The Colon's were good, but it was Festus who really cleaned house in this match up and picked up the win. This match was NOT a technical classic, and overall was boring to mee. I didn't really like how horrible this one was executed, but what I did enjoy was seeing Kenny get beat down by the giant Festus. Not a bad ending, and overall, one of my favorite moments of Smackdown thus far.

The Great Khali defeated three jobbers

Great Khali defeated three guys. Lame. Nothing to see here folks, lame.

Triple H vs. The Big Show went to a NO Contest

The final match at smackdown didn't really end properly. Seriously, this could have been great, but things went awry when Triple H interfered, causing things to go downhill for anyone that spent time watching this smackdown event.

Overall this was a pretty dumb Smackdown.

TNA Impact 10/9/08 Review and Results

Greetings from the sunnyville of California. Los Angeles to be exact, where I'm away from my mom's house. I'm glad she's got cable, otherwise I wouldn't be getting this review up. We open the show with Christian, Booker T and Aj Styles all trying to figure out what side Christian Cage is on. I don't like this angle at all, but then again, why not? Might as well.

Cute Kip defeated Rhino (No Dq Match)

Here we go, a no dq match between the newly gayed up Cute Kip and the War Machine Rhino. I haven't seen Rhino go to war in recent months, so I don't know what to say about all this, but hey, Cute Kip can wrestle if given a chance, so I had high hopes for this one. This match was boring, for a no dq match up. The match was basically rest holds for the most part, but late in the match The Beautiful People sprayed something in Rhino's eyes, then Cute Kip jumped rhino, and put him through a very weak looking table, and won this match easily.

Consequences Creed defeated Petey Willians (Big Petey Pump), Sonjay Dutt w/ So Cal Val, and Black Machismo Jay Lethal

They really wanted to load this match up, and we have a 4 way match up. The early favorite for me seemed to be Jay Lethal as he was getting the most offense in early on. Granted, Sonjay Dutt was focusing on Lethal with all his offense, leaving Consequences Creed and Petey Williams fighting each other inside the ring. We got a lot of spots, low drop kicks, big drop kicks, springboard clotheslines, neck breakers, and quick covers for two counts. No one seemed to get the clear cut advantage in the middle of the match up and it just seemed disorienting to try and keep up with all the wrestlers involved in this match up. In the midst of random finishing move attempts, Consequences Creed cleaned up house and got the pin, and things went down well. However, the camera's cut to Sheik Abdul Bashir in the background and made some stupid promo. Consequences Creed will go and wrestle Sheik Abdul Bashir at the next ppv. I liked Consequences Creed when he first came to TNA but now, he just doesn't seem the same. He should most likely lose at the ppv, making a gimmick match for a second shot at the TNA title, only to win it, and then feud with Sheik Bashir in a "USA" vs "Foreigner" feud, as they did in the late 70's and 80's and even a little in the early 90's with Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter. (I'm talking about Wrestlemania 7)

Why can't TNA fire Karen's Angle! I hate this, and I don't know anyone that likes this segment! Seriously, what a horrible piece of crap segment. Foley is on the show, and it's just stupid, I hate this segment.

The Blue Print Matt Morgan & The Abyss defeated Beer Money

Beer Money isolated Matt Morgan's knee after his initial onslaught of offense. He did look really good, dropping Beer Money with power moves easily, but he ended up getting worked over with a bum knee. Abyss got a hot tag and started cleaning house! Beer Money tried to make things go their way, but even with an injured Matt Morgan, Beer Money lossed this one when Abyss gave them the black hole slam and BOOM, we have ourselves some winners. This match wasn't all that bad, but it wasn't that great. It was somewhat boring at times, and while it was fast, it didn't really do it for me. Maybe it was because I was tired.

Raisha Saeed & Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi & Taylor Wilde

Smart knockouts match up, and a major step up from what I saw in WWE's diva's division. As much as WWE can improve on their diva's matches, they just don't measure up to these Knockout division matches. This one was great, Roxxi and Taylor WIlde were really working well as a team, and Roxxi was really putting a lot into this match up, I was really impressed with how much offense she got in on Kong and Saeed. Kong eventually gets thrown over the top rope, and Saeed gets double teamed, but in the middle of the match Taylor Wilde accidentally kicks Roxxi in the face! This caused some confusion, and while Roxxi looked like she was going to win this one after a missed monsault from Saeed, Kong jumped in and delivered the Implant Buster on Roxxi to win this tag match up! We immediately go to commercial, so that was that.

Christian Cage Special Guest Referee came out for the next match up!

A.J Styles defeated Booker T.

In what was easily an Impact classic, Booker T lost to A.J. styles and while we were suppose to see what side Christian was on, we actually never get to. Instead we get him added to the ppv match up, and now we won't ever know, unless a threeway featuring all three wrestlers is going to prove something. This match was good, lots of good high spots from styles, and booker t looked as fresh as ever. I liked this match up, but hated the commentary.

The end of impact bored me, with Samoa Joe and Sting brawling. I hate contract signings, they never turn out well.

TNA Results 9/11/08 and Review

I didn’t want to watch Tna Impact this week, I was burnt out from work, and I was just overall not feeling it. But I managed to watch it, and though there is a lot of talking on the show, I managed to focus on the wrestling, since that’s what Impact is suppose to deliver most.

On one note though, I’m getting tired of seeing the TNA video game entrances, it looks like the old N64 games, which could be bad or good depending on your point of view. I didn't go into detail with every single promo, every interview, because that takes me forever to write down and comment on, so I just focused on the actual wrestling found on Impact, which makes things easier for me and you.

Abyss vs. Christian Cage ended in a No Contest

I wasn’t too thrilled with this match at first, I thought it didn’t make a whole lot of sense. However, I’m a huge fan of the low dropkick, and after Christian hit that on Abyss, I marked out huge. However, Abyss thwarted any comeback that Christian had, catching him off of the Frogsplash, and I was really drawn in. I don’t understand the whole angle where Abyss is growing anxious and how he can’t put away Christian. We didn’t get a winner because Kurt Angle and Booker T rushed the ring and beat the crap out of Christian. Abyss just stood there for a while, then got involved, turning on Angle and Booker, however that was short lived because Angle and Booker started to beat down the monster! Abyss was about to get his brains scrambled but Matt Morgan made the save, and this will most likely push Morgan into the main event world of TNA, much to my dismay.

Taylor Wilde won an evening gown face off. Way to make the knockouts look dumb, so much for the wrestling, as we’re getting treated to WWE Style divas gimmick matches, so lame.

Angelina Love won a bikini showdown. What a load of crap this was. I must also note that the Prince Justice Brotherhood were the judges. This sucks. I hate this stupid crap.

Awesome Kong defeated Roxie in a Bimbo Brawl

Kong destroyed Roxie, but Roxie did manage a good amount of offense before Kong took over. Roxie gets busted open, receives chair shots, and loses the match with Kong’s finisher. Afterwards she was going to give more punishment to Roxie but ODB showed up to save the day. She then hits the referee with the chair!

Samoa Joe defeated Johnny Devine, Lance Rock, Tyson Tomko

I thought Tomko quit? I guess not, because here he is getting squashed by Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe just rolls through three idiots fast, and easy. They just squashed three of their newer talents, and I guess that’s ok right? I like Joe and all, but he doesn’t need to defeat some jobbers to get over at this point, he’s the champion, and a horrible one at that. Tomko did put on a lot more fight than the first two guys, and while it was short, Samoa Joe didn’t beat Tomko as quickly as the first two opponents in this gauntlet style match up.

Taylor Wilde defeated Angelina Wilde in a talent contest. Once again, this was stupid, I’m tired of seeing this random diva crap on TNA. This shouldn’t be anything like WWE and I can’t believe I have to sit through this crap. TNA is turning the knockouts into the WWE divas with crap like this.

Kurt Angle and Matt Morgan defeated Abyss and Matt Morgan

Could this be the new “it” tag team? It could be, and Abyss did a great job teaming with Morgan. I didn’t completely hate Morgan in this match, and it looked like Abyss and Morgan had this match sewed up completely. I was actually enjoying this until Team 3-D ran to ringside and hit Abyss with a chair, knocking him out and allowing Kurt Angle to win this match up for his team. This match was ok, but I hope this doesn’t lead to Matt Morgan getting title shots and singles matches, I can watch him as a tag team partner of Abyss but not alone.

WWE Smackdown Results 9/5/08 and Review

WWE Smackdown rolls through town, just a few days before Unforgiven and we get immediately treated to the Undertaker and Vickie saga, and who knows how it is going to turn out! This looks awesome, the WWE editors are amazing, and they do such great things with these promos, when they are on, they are on, sometimes they aren’t as good, but this opening was cool. Undertaker is looking scarier than ever, that’s for sure.

Triple H promo:

Triple H comes out to cut a promo only to get interrupted by the participants in the championship scramble. Nothing too great here, except for the closing portions. The Brian Kendrick ambushed Triple H and then knocked him down when Ezekiel distracted him, then came in the rest of the heels, only to get thwarted by Jeff Hardy. Hardy started beating everyone down, then Ezekiel once again was the equalizer, only to get Triple H coming back with a chair and clearing the ring. Great set up for the scramble, and The Brian Kendrick looked great in this one, and if he wins, I’ll be happy. He won’t, but I want him to win.

R. Truth defeated Bam

R. Truth did his usual stuff, and was impressive. However, Bam is nothing more than a glorified jobber and is probably one of the worst bodyguards in WWE history. He loses this match and Chavo doesn’t even get involved to help out. Truth wins this one easily. Some might find that Truth’s move set is generic and is what he’s always been doing, but I beg to differ, it’s fresh and hopefully he gets some better opponents, or else things are going to be bad for Truth’s future in the WWE. He’s still new, so maybe he’ll just get through some squashes.

The Undertaker Segment:

The Undertaker cuts a promo promising that he is going to send Vickie Guerrero straight to hell. Quite honestly, I don’t really give a crap about this. Undertaker winning the world championship would be an amazing thing, but since things are not looking like they are headed towards Triple H vs. Undertaker anytime soon, we might have to wait for a while. Undertaker than disappears and we’re left with an empty ring.

Shelton Benjamin defeated MVP

This seemed to be set up recently thanks to Shelton Benjamin dropping MVP on Smackdown. This match was looking good to start off, and MVP really took advantage of Shelton’s naïve behavior by pretending that he quit and was walking away. This was short lived though as MVP soon found himself fighting off the U.S Champion through various steps of the gold standard’s move set. However, right when I thought Benjamin was going to win, MVP nailed him with a drive by kick and I switched my opinion, thinking that MVP could get the upper hand. A near fall later and out of nowhere, Shelton Benjamin threw up the Pay Dirt and BOOOM MVP loses to the U.S Champion clean.

Divas Backstage segment:

I have no idea what these chicks were talking about. I was bored. I thought Maria was stupid? Now she’s acting all smart. I don’t like either one of these divas. I think it was Maryse and Maria? I don’t know, it was boring, I didn’t pay much attention to this.

Maryse defeated Maria

This match, although well executed somewhat well, is a horrible example of what women can do in professional wrestling. The women seem to be forcing themselves to perform certain moves, and they don’t look like they know what they are doing at all. If you like staring at skinny chicks trying to wrestle, then you probably enjoyed this match. There was a lot of clotheslines and attempted moves off the top rope. The execution at times was just completely horrible, and I couldn’t wait for this match to be over. Maryse dropped Maria on her head with a ddt, and the crowd was completely dead. This match sucked, and the divas division in the WWE makes me hate Smackdown.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Jeff Hardy

The new guy and the old guy, and Hardy looked to be favoring his knee yet again. I’m not sure if this was a work or if Hardy was legitimately injured. Kendrick had this match sewn up, but one quick mistake and Hardy took advantage creating a huge gap between the beginning of the match and the center-piece. Hardy did put on a show, putting on some moves that he hasn’t done before, and I think Kendrick is amazing in the ring. He looked as though he was not going to pull off the win, but with a little help from Ezekiel, The Kendrick defeated Jeff hardy after landing “The Kendrick” finishing maneuver. The Kendrick is by far the highlight of the Smackdown roster right now, and he does in fact remind me of a young Brian Pillman, and that’s a great thing.

Super Crazy defeated Ryan Braddock

Super Crazy won a squash match. There wasn’t a whole lot to mention about this, all that I know is that Braddock never stood a chance. Crazy is entertaining, but this match was nothing short of a lame squash match.

Post Match we get Kozlov coming out and asking for competition. He gets The Big Show coming out to the ring smiling, and he’s going to be the competition! They were about to brawl and right before they got into it, Vickie Guerrero comes out and stops the action.

Vickie threatens the Big Show and tells him to go home.

Vickie then says that she’s going to force Undertaker to apologize to her.

Brie Bella defeated Victoria

Another Squash match. Nothing major happened here, I was bored.

Triple H defeated The Great Khali

I didn’t think there were nearly enough lumberjacks, but I understood what the match was going for. The match overall wasn’t half bad, but once again I couldn’t help but root for Khali. I’m tired of seeing Triple H winning all the time, and once again he wins this match up against Khali without much of a recourse. The standard match was seen here, as Triple H has become comfortable in his move set and Khali hasn’t changed up anything since he showed up in the WWE a few years back. Triple H wins this one, but the winner really is none other than Hard, who stood over the champion and had the last say in this match up. Not half bad.

This edition of Smackdown was really well done. There was a lot of wrestling on this show, and if you’re a fan of WWE you more than likely enjoyed Kendrick and the main event. MVP’s match was good too, and even R-Truth wasn’t half bad. This whole even was good, and dare I say it was the best thing that happened this week in professional wrestling.

TNA Results 9/4/08 and Review: Sting vs. Fans

The opening of the show had Kurt Angle and Booker T in the ring mouthing off about how no one respects them for paving the way, similar to the Sting interview from last week. They of course, get interrupted by none other than Christian Cage and he too starts mouthing off, and like any good opener, they all brawl outside and inside the ring. Aj Styles runs out for the save, only to get Jim Cornette outside to make sure that Booker and Kurt are Banned from ringside during the four ways to glory qualifying match!

I hate Mike Tenay. He used to be “the professor” of wcw and had a lot of insight into the Lucha Libre that was permeating in the show, but here he just repeats the obvious, and basically reads a script. I don’t care if the announcers have scripts, but I am annoyed when the announcers are telling me the future of what a wrestler is going to say, or how things are going to play out. There is NO suspsense in TNA, because Tenay spoils any sort of surprise.

Samoa Joe Interview:

This thing sucks. Joe doesn’t need to look like a whiny champion, he just needs to drop people to the floor and prove that he’s not just a fat champion. He doesn’t need to pick fights with Sting or Kevin Nash, he needs to keep his mouth shut and just beat down anyone that comes out.

Rough Cut Consequences Creed:

Another inside look into Consequences Creed, and you know what? I don’t care. I don’t care about his background just yet. They need to wait for him to be a bigger superstar, then release this as a dvd or something. I don’t need to hear about a new guy, I want to hear from a bigger superstar, and if these are true shoots, they could make some money. This was lame. I’ll just leave it at that.

Sheik Bashir Interview:

This is stupid. I’m not sure that I believe anything this guy says just yet either. He’s too young of a star in TNA. I’m not talking about age, I’m talking about his career in TNA, which has what? Two matches or so? They don’t need an interview segment with this guy just yet, he needs more matches and then we can rally against him, instead of just having him be a scapegoat for American patriotism in wrestling. Sheik talks about how America stole things from him and how he hates America, the same gimmick that other Middle Eastern wrestlers had.

Consequences Creed defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

Sheik had full control of this match early on, and there was a lot of offense for such a shortly advertised match up. This is of course a response to the x-division title shot that Creed was gunning for, but Sheik interfered, causing this match up to be set up. This match took a turn for Creed as he started to go on a roll with his usual move set and it looked as though Consequences Creed was en route to win, but out of nowhere Sheik rolls up Creed, and uses the ropes to get the win!

However, the fans were booing the crap out of Sheik, and the Ref overturns the results, and restarts the match!

The match then just was another quick reversal, a sunset flip roll up and while Sheik firmly had his hands on the rope, the ref kicked his hands out and Sheik loses this match to Creed and the chance to go after the X-Division title at the next ppv.

Post match, Sheik slaps the Referee, but he starts to fight back, and goes crazy on Sheik. This ref is super good too, and makes Sheik look like an idiot, because he gets no offense in, and the crowd goes crazy.

Kevin Nash interview:

Nash offers nothing new. He says he wants to talk to Joe. Nash is way past his prime, even on the mic, he’s way past his prime.

The Prince Justice Brotherhood promo:

The superheroes are backstage with Beer Money and it’s hilarious. Curry Man is just awesome, they have a major superstar there, and I’m not sure why he’s not getting more of a push. However, the two factions start fighting and security just so happens to be right there for the save. Things get ugly, and we cut to commercial.

Beautiful People Promo:

The Beautiful People are backstage making stupid statements, and say they are going to have a beauty contest at the next ppv. I still think that the Beautiful People resemble porno actresses instead of wrestlers, but that’s just me.

Beer Money defeated Shark Boy & Super Eric

Curry Man was suppose to be in this match, however, he didn’t show up. The camera crew find him in the back getting cornered by Christy Hemme, and Shark Boy takes his place in this match. Beer Money starts off this match strong, and I’m glad that TNA is pushing these guys well. I’m glad to see that the tna tag team champions aren’t just jobbing to random people, these guys are a great team and they are really proving that tag team divisions can be reliable sources for great wrestling. This match was basically a squash match, but Beer Money looked great, and like a true tag team, true champions!

It’s also worth noting that in the middle of the match, the camera crew checked up on Curry man and he was getting stomped out by The Rock & Roll Infection.

Post match, Hernandez comes through and Beer Money flee to the outside. However, Homicide shows up and starts to rail against Beer Money, and he cleans house!

Abyss defeated Johnny Devine

This was cool, Abyss comes out swinging and it was an awesome match. Abyss basically annihilates Devine, and while I usually hate squash matches, this was entertaining to me. I assume this is how Kane would be if he stepped up his game. Abyss basically kills Devine with some heavy moves, seriously heavy.

The match didn’t end as far as I could see, because Team 3-D came down and interfered with the match up. Then Matt Morgan ran down to save Abyss, and cleared things up.

I was hoping for more insight into this, but instead we get to see ODB trying to take a dump? Yeah, she runs to the bathroom and takes a dump. I wish I was kidding.

ODB defeated Raisha Saeed

ODB puts on a good show against Raisha, and I was impressed that once again, TNA’s women’s division just makes for a great match up. This is the best part of TNA Impact, because the majority of the show is not that great. These women really put it all on the line in the ring and are NOT divas at all, TNA’s women division is the best part of being a professional wrestling fan.

ODB edges out Saeed and wins this grudge match.

Post match, ODB tries to demask Raisha and has no major luck until they are off camera. Awesome Kong comes flying out of the backstage area and beats down ODB, delivering the implant buster on her. Roxie comes out for the save but is eventually beaten down, and Roxie gets dropped by Kong with the Awesome Bomb onto a chair, and security runs through to help. The Tna women’s division is the greatest thing to happen to Tna ever.

AJ Styles Interview:

Aj Styles runs his mouth and calls out Sting, then calls out Christian. I must admit, this was the most whiny interview I’ve seen in my years of wrestling viewing. Aj Styles says that Sting has done nothing to deserve respect and that he’s always on the road away from his kids.

Uh….you mean wrestling in Florida means he’s away from his family? Wouldn’t he just buy a house in Florida? I mean, 80% of TNA shows are in FLORIDA! Aj is an idiot, I don’t buy this promo, and really don’t care for Aj’s whining. Shut up, go out there and beat down Christian, and let Sting be…he’s an idiot too.

Christian Cage defeated Aj Styles

This was a good back an forth match up. I didn’t know who to root for, as both men were putting on a clinic of pure wrestling ethos. Neither man was getting the clear cut edge, and both were great in ring. Christian has really improved since he left WWE a while ago, and Aj still has some amazing aerial maneuvers. This match was ppv quality, and if you missed it, go and see it. The best spot is definitely the reversal of the superplex into Christian’s frog splash. It took a split second, but if you caught it, you had to be impressed with how Christian executed that move. Aj definitely looked like the winner towards the end, but right when things were going to go in his favor, the referee gets knocked out. Frank Trigg runs out with a kendo stick and knocks out AJ Styles, causing Christian Cage to win this match and qualify for the main event at the ppv, and now he gets another shot at the TNA championship belt.

Sting Promo:

Sting comes out and cuts a face promo? Joe comes out and confronts Sting, and then Kevin Nash comes out too. I’m not sure where TNA was going with this, but I had my ideas, and they weren’t entertaining. Sting hit Joe with the bat and then hits the Stinger death drop on Joe! Jeff Jarrett’s music hits, only to get cut off by Sting, and the show ends horribly.

TNA Impact Results 9/4/08

Impact wasn’t half bad. I do still think that Impact could be better without all the promo’s and random interviews. However, there are some great matches on this show. There were at least three good quality matches, and then there was a lot of stupid things. The TNA Knock outs are awesome! Overall, not a bad show.

ECW Results 9/2/08 Review The Dirty Show

The show opens up with The Dirt Sheet, and Mark Henry comes out to the ring. Chavo came out next, his music was replaced by Miz and Morrison, which is hilarious! If you missed it, you missed out on something huge.

Finlay was suppose to be out there, so Miz and Morrison says. However, instead, Miz and Morrison show a pre-recorded segment of them two as “The Finlay” brothers, which is hilarious!

Hardy then comes out to a huge pop, and then makes fun of the heels. This of course forced Miz and Morrison to attack and Hardy gets jumped only to get the ECW locker room come out to help, and we are sent straight to commercial.

The backstage area is flooded with ECW’s locker room, and Teddy signs up a match for later tonight.

Super Crazy defeated Gavin Spears

I’m not sure who Gavin Spears is, but this is sad. Super Crazy is getting a push? Whatever the case is, Spears gets beat down by an ECW original, who appears to be breaking that glass ceiling of Ecw originals. Super Crazy picks up the win, in an interesting match, although it’s not all that good overall. It’s just a random match, that really meant nothing.

Ricky Ortiz defeated Ryan Braddock

I’m not sure when ECW became Saturday Morning Superstars, because this match is horrible. Ortiz is looking ok at best, but unless he gets into a serious feud or something worth mentioning, these squash matches aren’t going to help him out. Although, to the jobbers credit, they are a little better than the average jobber from yester year, but that’s not saying a whole lot, if you remember that far back in wrestling history. I don’t think Ortiz is going to get over like this, but then again, I’m a writer for this blog and not a wwe creative team member. I’d like that salary, that’s for sure. This match was boring at points, and Braddock really put Ortiz through the ringer, for a jobber. Boring though. Ortiz wins again.

Matt Hardy, Tommy Dreamer, Evan Bourne, and Finlay defeated Miz, Morrison, Chavo Guerrero, and Mark Henry

When’s the last time we saw a ten man tag? Those were pretty cool, but eight man tags are ok too. This match was fun to watch, each star got a little ring time, and each one made it interesting in their own way. I liked the match overall, as there was a lot of quick spots, given the time limit is short. The most surprising thing to me in this match up was the amount of time that was given to Tommy Dreamer, considering he too is an ECW original. I can’t believe Tommy Dreamer is still employed. Whatever the case is, he sets up the ending of this match to allow Matt Hardy to hit the twist of fate and the crowd goes completely insane for him.

ECW Results 9/2/08

Matt Hardy, Tommy Dreamer, Evan Bourne, and Finlay defeated Miz, Morrison, Chavo Guerrero, and Mark Henry

Overall, ECW was fast and to the point. I love how the ECW show has been going, and while I don’t like the constant jobber matches, the main events have been quite good lately. I hope they continue to push the limits in the near future, and I hope that Hardy finally gets another shot at a title! It’s about time ya know? Too bad Lita can’t come back for me to look at…but that’s for another story altogether. ECW was good, I liked it, at least the main event and the push towards that championship scramble. Sounds like a Denny’s breakfast huh?

WWE Raw Results 8/26/08 and review Big Crap

I FOUND THE REVIEW!!! HERE IT GOES!!!

WWE Raw comes at us taped for Sci-Fi from Wilkes-Barre, PA, a place I’ve never heard of. Raw opens up fast and furious, which is good for a change, but I kid you not, they immediately give us a rematch from Summerslam!

CM Punk defeated JBL

I could’ve sworn I paid forty dollars for this match at Summerslam. Why in the world am I getting this for free on Raw? I guess I didn’t have to waste my money, since the WWE is giving me this match for free, and as the opener. This really is sad, because I don’t see any other world champion opening Raw in a singles match up! CM Punk really took control in this match, making this match a little different than his other matches. He really had control in this one, and every move JBL threw at him, Punk had a counter or a way to slow things down. JBL was missing every single offensive opportunity, or was getting reversed into arm drags, and take downs. Punk eventually dove out of the ring into the announce table, but JBL didn’t get the upper hand at all.

This all ended towards the commercial break, and JBL really got the upper hand with some quick wits and reversals. The match really started getting its bearings towards the end with a lot of near falls and Punk hanging on for dear life as JBL was getting into his groove. JBL then threw everything at Punk that he had, including a Clothesline From Hell, only to get a two count. JBL got frustrated and went out for a chair, but the ref stopped him and Punk countered with the GTS for the clean victory. C.M Punk defeated JBL clean once again and this math was more enjoyable than the match at Summerslam. This didn’t go the same way that the usual C.M Punk match went, it seemed to have a lot more offense from Punk early on, and a lot of great counters that we haven’t seen from him since his title reign. This match was a good opener, and the crowd was definitely behind the champion after his win, erupting into a frenzy of cheers.

Mike Adamle Announcement:

John Cena is injured. Adamle talks about how John Cena got hurt via the Batista bombs that he suffered at Summerslam. This confirms that Cena does in fact have a serious neck injury and will most likely be out for an extended period of time. Hopefully when Cena comes back, he turns heel, but this means that the WWE’s number one draw amongst kids and teenage girls and single women, is going to be gone for a short amount of time.

Kane Promo:

Kane talks about how things aren’t tragic for Cena and that it’s a good thing that he’s in a lot of pain. He then rants about how he likes pain and suffering and that Batista is going to be on the receiving end of his pain. Kane tries to be serious, but I can’t get the image of his horror movie outside of my head. I hope that Kane doesn’t get pushed anymore, I’m tired of seeing him try to act all scary, and lose random matches. Maybe they will bury him alive somehow, and we can get some younger talent out there. I don’t know, Kane just doesn’t seem very good any longer.

Primo Colon Segment:

Primo Colon says he’s nothing like Carlito at all and says that Carlito is a jerk and that he’s a better man.

Shawn Michaels shows up and Adamle and himself stare each other down. Michaels wants a shot at Chris Jericho.

Kelly Kelly defated Beth Phoenix

I’m not sure what people are expecting at all, but this match wasn’t all that great, except for the Glamazon getting a completely busted nose. They tried to replay a move from early on in the match, but her nose is just bleeding for apparently no reason. After some replays, we see that Kelly Kelly kicked Phoenix in the face, possibly breaking her nose. Beth continued the match quite nicely, and Kelly hit a lot of offense, including the win! Santino had a hand in this loss for the Glamazon, and I’m probably going to take a lot of heat for saying this but, Beth Phoenix looked really hot, even after the bloody nose. I know, I’m not going to get a lot of agreement. As for the match itself, standard divas match with a lot of offense from Kelly, and Beth trying to work with a broken nose.

Post match, Beth Phoenix beat up Santino and sent him running for the backstage area!

Primo Colon defeated Charlito

Charlie Haas comes dressed up as Carlito, and that’s unfortunate. I wonder if Carlito is going to get fired soon, because this is just a mockery of the character. Whatever, Carlito was on his way out for a while, and he was very vocal about not liking his job at the WWE and his position as resident jobber. Primo Colon is looking good, he’s smaller, but he’s fast and dead on accurate for the most part. This is definitely a far cry from Carlito’s debut which had him winning the U.S title from John Cena a few years back. Primo is definitely a good looking wrestler, and he didn’t seem green at all. He seems a bit you8ng, but he did a good job. Charlito put on a clinic here, wrestling really stiff against Primo and continually pretending to be Carlito in this match up. I could have done without all the rest holds and the random beginners moves, but it worked for this match up. I must admit, I haven’t seen someone win a match via a high cross body block off the top rope. Apparently, that’s his finisher, and I don’t know if I can get behind such a simple move as being the finisher. Whatever the case is, Primo Colon wins his first match in the WWE and he defeats some no name Charlito, who is played by Charlie Haas.

Just for the record, Chris Jericho hitting Shawn Michael’s wife doesn’t look like an accident at all, it looks like Jericho legitimately was aiming for Michael’s wife, as he squarely is facing her and striking her in the face with that solid right hand. I don’t know if like this story line, because it involves hitting a woman, but you know what? It really does look like Shawn Michaels is upset, and if that’s going to make the next Jericho and Michaels match a four star classic, than bring it on!

Shawn Michaels Segment:

Shawn Michaels presents his best promo in years. He’s all sad and serious, and it’s funny to see this. I don’t buy what Michaels says as he says a few things that are stupid. But hey, it’s a storyline. He goes on to say that he’s not going anywhere and that he’s going to extract revenge.

Chris Jericho shows up via satellite, Chris Jericho claims that people asked him not to be on Raw because he would tear up Jericho. Jericho is really hated, and he’s so serious.

Shawn Michaels says the ultimate line, “My wife is tougher than you”, and Chris Jericho quickly accepts a match with Shawn Michaels. This is going to be a huge match up and Michaels wants something unsanctioned! At Unforgiven we are going to get a slobber knocker, and too bad I spent all my money on Summerslam because this match has four stars written all over it. This is going to be great, and if the match really does have the intensity of this promo, we are going to be in for one classic match up.

Priceless defeated Jerry Lawler & Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Anyone that had high hopes for this match should have been shaken. This match was way too late. Duggan and Lawler are NOT in their prime at all. In fact they are way past their prime. Regardless, the crowd was way over for the good guys in this match, and something inside me was chanting USA alongside Jim Duggan and this was not the worst match in the world. I absolutely did not believe that Lawler and Duggan could win against the tag team champions. However, anything is possible in the WWE right? Lawler and Duggan put on the best match they could at this age, and Lawler did a large portion of the work. Duggan got in and lost the match up fast. The tag champions finally get one in the win column, which is a long time coming, since they haven’t been able to beat anyone in their division at all. Duggan didn’t even get anything major in, and just sort of rolled over and won.

Past match, Cryme Tyme shows up in the nosebleeds after Cody Rhodes starts talking smack about how Cryme Tyme stole the titles. This situation ends up setting up a wwe tag team championship match at Unforgiven!

Batista interview:

Batista cuts a pro-Cena promo. He says he has nothing but respect, and says that Cena is going to get surgery. He then cuts a promo about how he is going to mop up Kane.

Santino defeated Kofi Kingston

Santino puts his title on the line against Kofi Kingston for free on Raw! This seemed really cool, considering that the Intercontinental championship doesn’t get defended quite as much as the other titles. This is a great opportunity for Kofi, and he took full advantage of this. This match was probably the best Santino match, which isn’t saying much because he hasn’t exactly put on the greatest matches. For once, this was more than just comedy spots, as Kofi really had control of this match early on hitting all of his spots, and Santino really having problems reversing things and trying to get the upper hand. Kofi went to the well too many times and Santino started to dismantle Kofi with some great moves. I was impressed that Santino was finally getting in some offense, including a front face suplex by the book!

Santino was getting ready to run out of this match up and ends up winning the match thanks to an assist from Beth Phoenix. Post match, Beth Phoenix gives Santino a little kiss, but Santino swings her into the corner and makes out with her. Santino is one lucky dude, that’s for sure. Acting or not, man, I’d have a hard time with that gimmick. Beth Phoenix looks to be wearing the pants in this relationship, that’s for sure.

Mike Adamle announces Rey Mysterio Jr. is the replacement for John Cena at Unforgiven!

Batista defeated Kane via DQ

I didn’t have high hopes for this match, and why should I? Both of these guys haven’t had any fast offense in a long time. Kane used to be a great heel when he was wrestling great anti-hero’s or good guys. Remember his matches with Stone Cold Steve Austin? Those were quite great, and I’m even reminded of the time that Stone Cold fought a then covered Kane in a First Blood Match! Remember that one? That was an instant classic, and Kane was a legitimate monster. However, This is 2008, and Kane isn’t quite the monster lately, losing to all sorts of easier opponents. Batista is on a roll as of late, but he can’t save this match. He’s just matching power move for power move with Kane. I really had problems with this match, and maybe it was just because it was getting late and I was tired, or maybe it was the endless supply of rest holds and power moves coming through in this match. I’m sure there was a silver lining, like the near falls at the end or the Kane attempts at winning the match. Batista playing up the injured knee was classic, and I started to wake up indeed. Batista snaps at the end, hitting Kane with a chair, and hitting Kane on the ring post. He’s trying to injure Kane! I’m not sure why he wasn’t getting counted out or disqualified, but they just fight each other like crazy. Or if it happened I wasn’t paying attention, and it seemed like the show ended kind of weird, because I was unclear what happened as the show went off the air with Batista sprawled out on the floor clutching his knee.

The ending cutting off aside, this edition of Raw wasn’t half bad. It seemed to me that there was a lot of wrestling, even if most of it wasn’t all that great. It’s a good start to the week in wrestling and I at least liked the way certain elements were handled. They are really trying to stack the roster for Unforgiven, but I have no more money! So I won’t be able to check out the event, but maybe you can check it out and let me know how it goes down.

It really sucks that WWE puts on this super card one month after Summerslam! I shouldn’t have gotten Summerslam, I should have waited for the epic confrontation that is going to be Jericho vs. HBK in an Unsanctioned match up!

Beth Phoenix was hot. I guess that makes up for it.

Tna Impact Results and Review 8/21/2008 AJ Medals

Kurt Angle Segment:

Kurt Angle shows up and says he knows who’s behind the guitars showing up, and that we are in planet Angle!

Hernandez defeated Robert Roode

Hernandez and Roode put on a good match. Hernandez does a lot of power moves, and Roode just gets beat down for the majority of this match. This match is not half bad considering these two are bigger guys. Lots of near falls to carry the match to a good high point, the fans were definitely behind LAX in this one. Jackie came in but Salinas went after her, but Hernandez didn’t miss a beat. Storm came out and ended up distracting Roode, Hernandez then dropped Roode for the win.

AJ Styles Segment:

Aj Styles challenges Kurt Angle in a Ladder Match for the Gold Medal! Aj isn’t all that good on the mic, but it’s not a train wreck, that’s for sure.

Eric Young & Bg James defeated The Motor City Machine Guns

The Motor City Machine Guns must be the jobber tag team of TNA, because I have yet to see them win a match! They never win! They are an established tag team and they lose to a couple of guys that were teaming up for the first time ever! This is bad booking, no matter how you slice it, it’s just a stupid thing to do. The match was relatively good, and better than I had previously anticipated. I didn’t know it was going to go down this way, and the match had a lot of back and forth action between the two teams. It wasn’t a technical classic, but it was worth checking out, the two teams did a great job getting in offense and there were a few near falls and definitely showed some great action, however it was all over with Eric Young picking up the pin.

Post match, The Machine Guns act like sore losers, and hopefully they turn heel enough to win a match.

Kurt Angle Booker T Segment:

Booker forces Angle and JB to take off their shoes, and to show him some respect. Booker talks in a weird accent. Angle asks for Booker to be on his side to watch out for the guitar shows up. Booker then asks for Angle’s help to protect him against Rhino later on in the night.

This segment was boring. Booker T is acting like King Booker, only it’s not working as well. I don’t know if like the whole Royal T angle, it just doesn’t seem the same as before. Maybe if there was a comedic element to it, or if someone could play off his lack of being British or anything. I don’t know. It just doesn’t fit for me.

Karen’s Angle Segment:

This is stupid. I hate this segment. So Cal Val has to decide between Jay and Sonjay, and Sonjay shows up. He asks Val to pick him, and Jay shows up to beat down Sonjay, and then there’s a lot of screaming. Jay accidentally knocks out Val, and we get screams! The announcers say that she suffered a concussion and facial bruising. I want my time back this is stupid.

Rough Cut Consequences Creed:

I don’t want to hear this, Creed is good, but he’s NOT a superstar just yet! I’m tired.

Matt Morgan defeated Jobber Capone

This is was stupid. Matt Morgan is jacking everyone’s moves! Seriously, he’s doing Undertaker’s moves, he’s doing Albert’s Bicycle kick, and he’s trying to act like Goldberg at the same time. This is stupid, Matt Morgan sucks, Matt Morgan’s finishing move looked really weak. This is just a stupid squash match and Morgan looks just is horrible.

Post match Bubba Ray comes out and takes major shots at Matt Morgan. Bubba Ray challenges Morgan, and Devon comes out and beats down Morgan. He’s not so tough when Team 3-D comes out is he? Abyss comes out for the save, and takes out Team 3-D. I’m sure this will set up a tag team match up where Abyss and Matt Morgan will somehow be the best tag team ever. Too bad I don’t give a crap.

A bunch of interviews happened, and I wasn’t paying attention. I was going for another Rolling Rock, and well, missed some people yelling. So I’m just not going to talk about every segment, I’m too tired, and TNA is throwing too much talking at me. So I just missed some random segments that had nothing to do with anything.

Booker T defeated Rhino

Booker T beat Rhino, which is no surprise at all. Booker really looks solid, and I’m honestly surprised that WWE would let such a talent go. He’s so good. I haven’t seen this Booker T since WCW and his Chris Benoit best of 7 series that was going on. He’s good, and he should get more of a shot at the main events in TNA, and he will. We’ll most likely see Booker T as champion facing Double J sooner than later.

Consequences Creed defeated Petey Williams via DQ

Consequences Creed is one of my favorite new guys, granted he’s not well established in TNA just yet, but he’s impressive for a rookie. This is his second shot at the x-division title and he puts up a great shot against Petey Williams. I don’t like the whole “Big Petey Pump” angle that Williams is doing, because Scott Steiner really hasn’t been relevant in nearly a decade. He just looks like Steiner, not necessarily the move sets. Creed looks like he’s on his way to winning this one, but Shiek Bashir comes out to interfere with the match up. Creed’s flip dive is amazing, you have to see this, full front flip over the top rope with no assistance and onto his feet with ease! Creed looks to be on his way to winning this match up, reversing most of Petey William’s move set. Sheik Bashir jumps in to save Wiliiams and he takes out Creed. He just goes nuts, but Creed gets his composure and rolls out of the ring.

Post Match Petey Williams and Sheik yell at each other.

Awesome Kong defeated Gail Kim in a Street Fight

Everyone was saying that this was Gail Kim’s last match in TNA. If this is her last match, then she really let it all out, because this street fight was awesome. I’m so glad that TNA is allowing the women’s division to get matches like this. I really somehow cared about this match up, as it wasn’t just some random tag match with no name divas like the WWE does on a weekly basis. This was awesome, and these two put themselves into some dangerous positions. The fight went into the crowd, and things were going back and forth. There was a lot of stiff shots in this match up, and Kim was really impressive, giving Kong some major shots to the face. Kong plays the monster role so well, and it’s not just her size, although that helps a lot.

Raisha Saeed got involved but was quickly thrown out of the ring, and Kim continued to beat down Kong until a few near falls occurred. Kim then got into trouble and was hit with a heavy handed Implant Buster and things went south, Kim lost this one after a massive Implant Buster on Kim, it was bad news.

Post match, Kong wanted to drop Kim onto a chair, and wasn’t able to succeed due to the ref’s getting knocked out. Kim’s sister jumped the rail and entered the ring, ODB and Roxxi came out for the save.

Aj Styles defeated Kurt Angle in a Ladder Match

This match was an instant classic. Which is interested, Christian wasn’t on this show. But this match really wasn’t half bad. I’m surprised that Angle is competing so much, as I heard rumors that he had a hurt neck, he’s definitely doing something right. Booker T and Samoa Joe were both at ringside watching this one. The match saw Aj Styles dropping Angle on his neck a lot, lots of back breakers, and high spots. Angle on the other hand did a lot of rest holds and chockes.

One thing that I noticed about this match was, there are not a lot of bumps that involve falls or ladder spots. There are a few times where the ladder comes into play, however not in the same respect as a WWE ladder match. The ladder also looked a little different, and didn’t look like the standard Werner ladder or an a-frame ladder that is standard in construction. Which reminds me, when I was doing construction, I had to carry ladders on the time, and they aren’t that heavy and don’t hurt that much. The real heavy and hard hitting ladders are made of wood or stainless or aluminum steel. That’s just a sidenote, sorry, but this ladder didn’t seem all that heavy, and if you saw the match you’ll know what I mean.

Samoa Joe and Booker T start fighting outside! Booker T hits Samoa Joe with a baseball bat, knocking him out. Aj and Kurt Angle are on the ladder fighting when the lights go out, when the lights come back on, AJ is on the ladder with a guitar and he knocks out Kurt Angle with it, and Angle falls to his near death. (I’m joking) Of course, no one knows where the guitar is coming from, but they are all convinced that they know who it is. I know one thing, I’m bored with this stupid lights out thing.

Admittedly this edition of TNA impact wasn’t my favorite. However, if you look at the sheer number of matches, you’ll notice that there is a lot of wrestling in theory. There is a lot more wrestling than you would see in WWE, however these matches aren’t extremely long. There are a few matches that stand out this time around though, including the TNA knockouts street fight and the ladder match. These two were definitely above par in comparison to the other nights in wrestling so far.

I do not enjoy the TNA backstage and interview segments as I feel that there is a lot of wasted time spent in nonsense backstage segments and random interviews. I am so bored and uninterested in some of these, that I grew tired of watching the whole show. I even stopped taking notes about them mid way through this review.

Tna is doing good, but I think they could do more in the wrestling department, and less backstage antics and talking.
