WWE Hell In A Cell 2016 Results and Review The Best Women’s Match In History

Hell In A Cell 2016 was held in Boston. I wanted to go, but didn’t get a chance to save up enough money and get there. Oh well. The show had 16,119 fans at the TD Garden, and it featured some excellent wrestling, and some not so excellent wrestling as well. Here are my thoughts on the show, as I saw it on Monday after the initial broadcast.

WWE Hell In A cell 2016 Review

Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado and Sin Cara defeated Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari

A good overall opener with lots of high flying, and classic moves. I love the division, I just hate how WWE is booking this thing. When you look back at how WCW worked their cruisewerights, you noticed that they weren’t a different part of the show, they were part of it, and more than just openers. Just look back at events like World War 3 1997, and Superbrawl, and you’ll see that they were not treated like different entities, but rather part of the greater WCW good.

Roman Reigns defeated Rusev (HIAC US TITLE MATCH)

These two guys beat the holy hell out of each other. Rusev really put the boots to Roman, but he was playing the role of Super Man, because he won. I didn’t like the finish, and some of the spots didn’t make sense since Roman has a chest protector on. Other than that, this match was fine, and 24 minutes wasn’t half bad, but with no blood, and super human wins, Reigns once again turns into the Samoan John Cena. The fact that he wasn’t selling his injuries made me mad, but hey, that’s WWE logic for you right?

Bayley defeated Dana Brooke

I think the WWE has dropped the ball with Dana Brooke and Bayley. I think that Dana should pick up a few more wins, and do so by cheating, but that’s just me. Bayley is ok, but she’s nowhere near as good as she was in NXT, and the WWE is failing to capture the magic that I have seen from her time and time again.

The Club Sandwich Boys defeated Enzo and Cass

The Club Sandwich boys finally win a match. This wasn’t a terrible match by any means, and it was a fun romp, with a win for the Club Sandwich guys. Overall, not a bad showing, but nothing really to write about here.

Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins (HIAC WWE Universal Title Match)

Perhaps one of the better matches I’ve seen in the cell, but without blood, I have to question the overall substance. Even without the blood, I think that this was a great performance, with the sole exception of Seth Rollins selling the back injury on and off. His back should hurt, so why is he dead lifting fat ass Kevin Owens? Seriously?! I thought his back hurt? Oh well. Chris Jericho getting involved, outsmarting everyone and beating down Rollins is great, and Owens winning makes a lot of sense if you ask me. Fat Ass Kevin Owens wins again.

The Brian Kendrick defeated T.J. Perkins for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

The crowd was completely dead for this, and rightfully so. Don’t get me wrong, T.J. Perkins is an absolutely amazing wrestler, but no one knows who he is or why he’s the champion, unless they saw the CWC. I think that the majority of fans that watch WWE on a weekly basis, did not. I did, but they didn’t. Despite all the talent, he’s lost on a lot of people, and this match showed. Kendrick wins, and that’s all she wrote. Kendrick’s sly move of pretending he was hurt was good story telling, for an otherwise forgettable match.

Cesaro and Sheamus defeated The New Day via DQ (Tag Team Championship Match)

For a moment, I thought for sure that The New Day was going to lose. Cesaro and Sheamus have perfect timing in the ring and put on an entertaining round up within their 11 minutes of time. I loved it. I thought the match was great, and the timing was even better, only to get a DQ finish. Oh well. The new Day loses, but not the championship belts.

Charlotte Flair defeated Sasha Banks (HIAC Women’s Championship Match)

Here we go, one of the best women’s title matches I’ve ever seen in my life. In fact, it was a grand showcase. I did have a little bit of a gripe with the opening, in which I thought Sasha Banks was legitimately hurt by going through the announcers table. But she made it to the ring, and fought Charlotte tooth and nail. I love the story here. Banks’s back was going to give out, it was just a matter of when, and where. Well, it finally gave out when she was being rag dolled on the table by Charlotte, and it was amazing. I love the ending, and thought it was great story telling to finally have her gas out, back hurt, and dead in order for Charlotte to win. The only thing that would have made this better was if Charlotte or Sasha had blood. Even fake blood would work. The iconic image of having one of them wiping blood from their mouths or nose, or bloody hand prints on the mat would be great, showing that they are in a bitter blood feud. Charlotte’s entrance was great. I loved this match and really enjoyed the overall show that they put on.

My overall thoughts on Hell In A Cell For 2016 are simple, it was a good show. It wasn’t great throughout, but it held my attention for the most part. I really loved the last match, and really thought that Charlotte and Sasha Banks put on a showcase for the immortals. I really loved the ending, and the idea that Banks was just gassed out and her back had finally given out. I loved the monkey flip into the cage, the table breaks, the rag doll finish, and Charlotte’s tears as she won the title and proved that she’s seriously the best women’s wrestler in the world, that’s that. Oh and I really enjoyed Fat Ass Kevin Owens winning his match as well. Good stuff from WWE for a change.

WWE Survivor Series 2012 Review (Sort of )

Well, well, the much hyped big event came through yesterday and all of us suckers that paid 40 some odd dollars because the build up was looking to be an outstanding thing, actually ended up being dumbfounded by yet another bad ppv, with the exception of the final match which featured some surprised and some overall good wrestling, even though some said Ryback wasn’t all that great.

The best Match: Main Event

Ryback and Cena ganging up on Punk was cool, but Punk getting help from former Nexus members was even better, and that’s how this match turned out. Punk once again retains but not without getting both Cena and Ryback to fight each other and make this a fair and even balanced match up. It did manage to get slowly started, but in the end the frenetic pace of finishers and counters really made it worthwhile. I thought for sure Ryback was going to get the push, but nope, not this time.

The Worst Match: Big Show vs. Sheamus

I’m sick of seeing the BIG SLOW he’s the worst wrestler at this point. Oh well. Sheamus is not gaining any traction in my book, but alas, it’s better than nothing, I guess.

The rest of the card wasn’t any better, but at least we have Raw to look forward to tonight, right? Oh who cares.

Oh, not to crap on the whole event, there were some shining lights here and there, it’s just rough when you get fed the same old move set and wrestlers facing each other, week in and week out.

TNA Against All Odds 2011 Results and Review

The crowd seemed hot for this one, and it was nice to hear. I wish the announcers talked about it. THe opening match had me pumping my fist, that's for sure...because Robbie E and Cookie can really create some heat. I am a fan of Robbie E, even if I'm the only one.

Robbie E faced off one on one with Kaz, and the match was really fast paced, with lots of fast moments. Cookie got involved and I was marking out for the old school ending, but when Kaz kicked out of a roll up after getting hit in the face with a boot I saw this match slipping away from the New Jersey bad boy. Kaz would eventually get the win, after the Fade to Black Reverse Tombstone, and the crowd went wild. NOt a terrible match, but it left a lot to be desired from me. These guys can put up a better match, even if all we got was this one. Robbie E should have the title, if I do say so myself.

Immortal came out with the body guards (Gunner and Murphy, and Rob Terry) came out for a match, and I already hated it. ROb Terry is so huge, that he should've kept that feud with Orlando Jordan. They were building it up to be quite good. Beer Money would get a shot at them, and they are just wasted here. Big Poppa Pump came out to join them, and he's the only big name in this match up. I think I might mark out huge for an Undertaker vs Steiner match, just for the meeting. This match wasn't a complete waste, but it was apparent that Robert Roode and his partner were carrying the work load. Steiner was way over with the in ring crowd, which was nice. Steiner delivered a top rope Frankensteiner!!!!!!! I kid you not, TOP ROPE FRANKENSTEINER! Scott Steiner hit one hell of a move and I marked out huge, alongside the rest of the crowd, wow! A HUGE FRANKENSTEINER saves the day!

Samoa Joe and The Pope put on a good enough match. I'm always surprised at how Samoa Joe can move in ring. He can really go, despite how fat I perceive him being. He started this match fast and the crowd was all about it. Joe has some great finesse in ring, He seems to float through some of his moves, and it's really good. The Pope, on the other hand, seemed a bit lost at several moments during this match up. The Pope took the turnbuckle pad off, and this match seemed to lose momentum when Joe was almost thrown into it. The Pope reversed a nice roll up into the Kakina Clutch and I was amazed! What a finisher.

Post match, the Pope seemed impressed, but not hurt. Joe won the physical battle, but Pope is winning the psychological warfare.

Up Next, was the Knockouts match, and wow, what a waste. Mickie James botched several moves, and this thing was going terrible. The match was boring, and things were saved by Tara, she ran down and helped the flow of this match. Mickie James and Madison really made for a good overall second half the match, and I loved it, only because Madison took out a pair of Brass Knuckles and KNOCKED OUT Mickie James while the ref was distracted and won this knockouts match! The brass knucks get the mark out moment in this match up. I guess I'll pass it because I marked out huge, oh and I guess I called the match right huh?

Super Mex and Matt Morgan had a confrontation, and I hated it.

Matt Hardy cut a promo, it sucked. He is really trying to be Raven. It was weird.

Matt Hardy wasn't really good here, but he is losing weight gradually. He wasn't as bloated as I've seen him in previous years, and he put on an ok match. RVD did NOT put on a great match, and I think it's the caliber of opponent here. There were some nice spots to follow, including a unique submission move that I haven't seen in years. RVD would lose this one after a botched attempt by hardy to hit a Moonsault. The crowd was losing steam here, and that's when RVd would get the win with the Five Star Frog Splash.

This match wasn't really that good. Bully ray and Devon fought each other brawling all the way. The match really got interesting towards the end, with Bully Ray putting Devon in handcuffs to the ring post. His sons ran in and they got beat down. Yes, Devon's kids got beat up, one went through a table too, it was sad. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Bully Ray pinned one of Devon's sons...this was sad.

Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett put on a good match, although nothing comparible to many others. Karen Jarrett kept getting involved and would cost Angle. Kurt really did manage to put on a few good shots on Double J including suplex after suplex. Jarrett looked frustrated in this match at several points, including when Angle kicked out of the Stroke. The momentum shifted when the ref took a bump and Angle went to the outside to brawl with Double J. Jarrett introduced a chair and Angle couldn't use it, and this match got some steam again, and I was actually cheering for Kurt Angle! I wish Angle could get a shot at Taker, on a sidenote. Karen distracted Angle in the corner and after The Stroke was hit from the middle rope, this match seemed over, but nope! Kurt made Jarrett tap out at one point, but the ref was distracted! Jarrett was able to turn things around, and got Angle in a sick roll up! JARRETT WINS! JARRETT WINS!

Post match it just seemed sad as Angle genuinely looked sad, and he started crying and left his boots in the ring...signaling retirement.

There hasn't been a main event that has been so lame sounding, than this one. I tried to avoid spoilers, but I knew what would happen, and I was saddened to see this is the main event.

One of the worst Ladder matches I've ever seen happened here. There were some nice brawling points, but there was no drama, no real enthusiasm here, and Jeff hardy got the win, surprise surprise. What a lousy ending, I can't vouch for this, this sucked.

WWE Money In The Bank 2010 Review

Kane won the Smackdown Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The first match was the Smackdown version of the Money In The Bank Ladder match and the stand out at first was none other than Big Show. Big Show was slapping everyone, and mopping up everyone, and even throwing a ladder at Kane, who took a mean bump with it. All of the competitors jumped Big Show then attacked one another. It was interesting to see that no one had the clear advantage, and each man got his own set of moves in before the final man was headed to the top of the ladder. There were some sick bumps from Christian, Kane, Drew McIntyre, and even Kofi Kingston in this one. Fat Ass Matt Hardy, my pick for the win, also put on some good moments, and the crowd rewarded him for his efforts. In fact, this first match really got the crowd going, and when Fat Ass Matt Hardy nearly had the briefcase the uproar was happening. This match was interesting, and it didn't seem like anyone had this thing won as time went on, it was truly up for grabs, and I for one wasn't sure who'd win necessarily. I mean, at one point it looked like Dashing Cody Rhodes or Kofi had this thing easily won.

Big Show didn't catch Christian at one point, and looked like a Botchamania classic. My major complaint with the match was that the spots were rushed at certain points, and the match looked sloppy with so many ladders in the ring. What made the Wrestlemania X ladder match so great was that there wasn't THAT many ladders. The ring and ringside area were flooded with Ladders and therefore this thing got crowded fast. There were also some misjudgments in height and length, and therefore some injuries looked inevitable. Hardy at one point took a shoulder to the pole and made the loudest thud I've heard for a spot of that nature. Kane, Kane was definitely a monster in this match and he immediately went to work. He even messed up the announce tables at a certain point in this match up. Kofi at one point did the Boom Drop on Drew McIntyre through the Spanish Announce table!

Best spot of the match was Ziggler falling off of a ladder into the arm of Big Show and in one fluid motion getting nearly thrown through the ring with an amazing choke slam. It was insane, the fluidity of the move was just amazing and Ziggler looked completely dead afterwards. Overall, the Big Show was the most impressive. I know, I'm waffling, but man, this match was just insane at certain points. Cody Rhodes at one point flew half way across the ring with a picture perfect drop kick off the top rope, hitting Kofi off a ladder. This thing was perfect, and then he knocked himself silly by hitting “Cross Rhodes” on Kofi into a ladder. I'm telling ya folks, this thing had some highlights! The guys buried Big show underneath all the ladders and only his Golden large ladder was left in ring, and this match started to get even more interesting with all the superstars fighting at the golden ladder. Kane chokeslammed EVERYONE and looked poised to get this one. Ziggler ran through the ropes and latched onto Kane on top of the large ladder and couldn't get the case, and then was chokeslammed on a pile of ladders with Big Show underneath them! After some last minute spots, KANE chokeslammed Drew McIntyre off the top of the ladder and won the match up. That's right, the Big Slow Machine wins the first ladder match...whatever....dude sucks.

Alicia Fox defeated Eve

This match sucked. No one cares about these women, and the match was stupid. Alicia won and retained her belt.

The Hart Dynasty defeated The USOS

Another cookie cutter match up, with no major pay off. This match took the life out of the crowd at first, and eventually warmed up. There wasn't anything great to mention here. There were a few good moments, but overall the match just felt the same as other matches these guys have already had in the past. Having the USOS lose is stupid, now who's going to feud with the Hart Dynasty? Who cares. The tag division sucks in WWE, and TNA isn't all that better...ugh...I miss the 80's.

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger

I feel like I've seen this match before, and it wasn't all that fascinating. I still maintain my position, stating that the best match of recent history with Rey Mysterio was his match up against Dolph Ziggler last year. But aside from my harping on the two greats, this match had a few good moments. The biggest impact came from Swagger getting ddt'd from the top rope and nearly getting knocked out, only to get the 619 and the Springboard pinfall win....well....springboard into the Ankle Lock submission! Rey Mysterio, after being booked like a little kid compared to the larger and more agile Jack Swagger, wins again. I wouldn't have called this match for Mysterio, but he's being booked like the “Houdini” of World Champions, and I guess that's a positive thing? I don't know. I've seen Mysterio wrestle a lot of matches and his latest reign just sucks, and this win sucks. Mysterio won with a Huricanrana pinfall, and that was that. Screw this match, and no offense to the 619 or Lucha Libre fans, but screw Rey Mysterio and his latest title reign. Swagger's build comes crashing down as Mysterio wins again.

Minutes after Rey Mysterio won via pinfall, KANE cashed in his MONEY IN THE BANK CONTRACT! The Crowd went nuts, and I for once in my life, marked out huge for Kane. I just marked out like a school girl for the big dull machine.

Mysterio's leg was looking bad, and Kane immediately took to work against Mysterio. He nearly crippled Mysterio with a huge chokeslam and this was just a matter of time. Mysterio got locked into a Tombstone Piledriver and KANE wins the title after cashing in the MONEY IN THE BANK briefcase! That's right, KANE is the new World Champion! Rey Mysterio was left dead in ring, and KANE is the NEW CHAMPION!

Layla defeated Kelly Kelly

This match was terrible. Kelly Kelly just couldn't get this one won. Layla and Michelle McCool continued to dominate with Michelle constantly interfering. Kelly Kelly did manage a lot of offense, but it wasn't nearly enough to win the match. McCool took some hits, and she even took a nasty fall to the outside before Layla reversed a botched sunset flip to retain the women's championship. This match sucked, I hated this crap, this was stupid. The divas suck, face it.

The Miz won the Raw Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The Raw version of the ladder match didn't start off that hot. If nothing else, the main players were Mark Henry and Evan Bourne, at least early on. Evan Bourne was just fast, he was great early on and I knew something big was going to happen with him and a huge bump, but it wasn't happening early on, he had this thing sewn up, at least for a short time. Randy Orton was probably the favorite with the fans, with a lot of RKO chants, and some choice RKO signs. All men were taking bumps, but the surprise here for me was Mark Henry. Mark Henry was quite over with the fans, which was weird, it only took some 10 years? Oh and did you know that Maryse was in playboy? Yep. I saw the pics...steamy! Oh well. Maryse at one point climbed the ladder! That's right, she climbed the ladder! Morrison grabbed her and told her to leave, and Dibiase nearly got the case, which was a nice little moment, but I would have much rather seen Morrison do a Samoan Drop on Maryse! Sensational Sherri would've taken the bump! That's for sure. Mark Henry on the outside took Edge's, Jericho's and Morrison's finisher after he gave Evan Bourne his World's Strong Slam, so he and Bourne were out of it at the turning point of this match up.

This match didn't have nearly as many hard hitting spots, although they did manage a few. It seemed like these were a little more reserved at times in this match, and maybe that was to protect from injury. Orton hit an RKO on Morrison and Orton was immediately hit with a Shooting Star press! Jericho was tied up, and Evan Bourne reached the briefcase! He couldn't get the hook off and Jericho eventually recovered! No sign of Nexus by the way. Orton had this thing wrapped up after taking out Jericho and Edge through an RKO and a toss through some ladders. He had this thing sewn up but out ran Miz and Orton went flying, and it looked like Miz had this thing won! MIZ didn't play around and actually unhooked this thing and WON! THE MIZ WON THE RAW LADDER MATCH! THE MIZ! THE MIZ THE MIZ!

Sheamus defeated John Cena in a steel cage match

This match was stupid. First of all this match was a slow moving match up. The cage as a weapon came into play, but without any blood, this thing just didn't mean a whole lot to me. Ok, blood aside, this match was your standard John Cena match, and having a ref counting a three count in the ring was just plain dumb. I hate cage matches with a ref inside the ring, it is just not worth the effort. This match went on quite a while with a great deal of offense from both men. I am telling ya, this match was slow moving, and featured a lot of breaks and slow moves.

The Nexus ran down with bolt cutters and the ref ran down and stole it from them. The Nexus then threatened the ringside ref to give them the keys, but he threw them across the ringside area to the crowd! While they argued outside Sheamus and Cena fought, and there was a ref bump. The STFU was locked in and Sheamus was tapping like a drunk man, but it didn't matter. The Nexus was contained outside and Cena was frustrated, locked inside the cage with Nexus safely at bay. This took an odd turn, and I wasn't sure where it was going to go. Cena then was trying to climb the cage but Justin Gabriel climbed to fight him and threw him into the ring! Cena kept trying to escape but the Nexus kept fighting! Meanwhile, Sheamus was trying to climb out at the other side, and Sheamus won the match by getting down first and then running threw the crowd out of the ring.

The match sucked, it just sucked. Sure, Nexus cost Cena the match, but who cares?!? Sheamus ran away so Miz couldn't cash in the briefcase. Cena then looked on at Black John Cena and decided it was time to beat him up. Yep, I'm not sure how the Universe didn't collapse on itself, but John Cena beat up Black John Cena and Michael Tarver. John Cena then threw the ring steps at Michael Tarver.

The show then ended.

This night of wrestling started off hot, but ended terribly. The Raw ladder match sucked compared to the Smackdown one, and the rest of the night was just a blurry mess. This ppv was NOT that great, but at least the first match had so much impact, that it was worthwhile.

WWE Fatal Four Way 2010 Results and Review

It's not often that I get to see live events, but by some miracle of technology, I was able to get this one and review it for all 2 of you readers out there.

The set is really cool, with a giant 4 above the titan-tron, lit up, and in red, quite the cool entrance. The arena looked packed, or at least nearly full, but that's just how it came across.

Vince McMahon showed up and was on the microphone. He said that Bret Hart will not be on the show tonight because the NXT guys beat him up on Raw.

Drew McIntyre came out and shook McMahon's hand, and that was the end of that. McMahon was only there to announce that Hart would not be there tonight. I wonder if that means that NXT rookies will not get an answer.

McIntyre came out at the prompting of Drew McIntyre. Drew then berated Teddy Long with insults, as Teddy was forced to watch the next match.

Kofi Kingston defeated Drew McIntyre

Kofi started this match with lots of kicks, but Drew was able to get control after the initial moments. Kofi was on tonight, he had some very cool and smooth counters to Drew's offense, which were quite cool to see live. His mid-rope dive to the outside was even on key, and different than the Botchamania videos I've seen him featured in.

Drew first focused on Kofi's Leg, then he started working on his arm. It seemed odd that you would want to work on Kofi's arm, considering he has a lot of high flying moves that don't require his arm at all, except in landing. Kofi managed a comeback and despite his arm “hurting” he was able to do a plethora of moves, including sunset flip pinfall attempts, cross body blocks, drop kicks and more. At one point he did acknowledge his arm for a moment, but it didn't matter, he had already shown that the arm wasn't a factor. Don't really believe me? Consider that around the 22 minute mark of the show, Kofi was able to do a “tornado DDT” off the ropes landing on his “injured” arm and was fine, with no showcase of pain, oh well. Drew hit a nice power bomb for a near fall, and this match, despite being a little slow at times, there were some big moves!

Kofi hit the SOS and despite it being near picture-perfect, Drew McIntyre kicked out and this match was getting interesting. The REF bump opened up this match to outside interference. Drew hit his Future Shock DDT, but the Referee was knocked out so he went outside and threw in Teddy Long and told him to make the 3 count. Drew then ripped the shirt off the ref, told Teddy Long to put it on, and count the 3!!!

Teddy went in to count the 3 but after 2 his arm stopped! That's right, Teddy STOPPED! He couldn't give in to the 3!!! I marked out huge!

Matt Hardy ran into the match from the stands, then Trouble In Paradise was hit, and Kofi retains his title! Teddy Long had no problem counting the 3, and the crowd went completely nuts for this one, and I did too. Despite the obvious flaws in the match, Kofi's lackluster acting skills, and a couple of obvious botches, the match was entertaining and a good opener to get the crowd going.

Justin Roberts is a chump, dude got Daniel Bryan fired...jerk.

Alicia Fox defeated Eve Torres & Maryse & Gail Kim to win the Diva's title in a fatal four way match

I actually liked this match. It had a few botches and misses, but there were some sick moves. The most memorable of them were from Eve and Gail Kim. Gail Kim's top rope dropkicks got this thing going quite well for her, but it was Eve that wowed the crowd, even if her top rope moonsault looked painful and will most likely end up being in Botchamania down the line. Alicia won after Eve put it all on the line with a sick dive off the top (moonsault) and this match made a new champion. The divas can string together watchable matches, it's just not often, that's for sure.

Evan Bourne defeated Chris Jericho

This match was a rematch from Raw, and it featured a lot of the same action. The only difference here was that Jericho seemed poised to actually take out the younger star. Jericho was in control a lot of the time, and he was countering a lot. Jericho was in tune with everything that Bourne was going to throw at him, and it was interesting to see a veteran actually counter a younger stars move set. Towards the end, after Jericho blocking Evan Bourne's top rope moves on three consecutive occasions, the shooting star press (Air Bourne) hit with full engines on Jericho! This match was quite good, fast paced, slow where it needed to be, and Jericho loses. I can not express how amazing the Shooting Star press looks when done with the heights that Evan Bourne does it. Move over Billy Kidman, Evan Bourne has re-invented how you do the shooting star press.

On a side note, Jericho's losing record isn't crazy. There's two things that you need to remember as a sports fan and a wrestling fan.

1. People love streaks. Wins or losses, all sports fans love streaks. It's just how it is. Famous streaks in wrestling? How about the Goldberg win streak? It helped WCW conquer the ratings, even in light of the now. Need another streak? Consider Mikey Whipwreck's loss streak that lasted quite a while until he won with Cactus Jack in ECW. His impact was so large that he eventually made it to the big leagues, WCW cruiser weight division and put on a show with kidman at Uncensored.

2. Jericho doesn't need to win to be over. Jericho can lose forever, but he'll still get the reaction that he wants. Even if he turns face, the fans will go with him. Of all the WWE superstars he's the only one that is jobbing on a consistent basis, passing the torch with each guy. Much like Dean Malenko, and others in WCW, he's letting younger stars take the ball. Too bad HHH isn't doing this...well...except for giving Sheamus the rub...but whatever.

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger, CM Punk, and Big Show in a Fatal Fourway for the World Heavyweight Championship

This match was fast paced, and featured spots from each wrestler. It took a while to set up just two guys in ring, but after it did, things were speeding up and the high spots were going through. It was quite good at moments, even though it seemed telegraphed that Mysterio would win the match up. Swagger's reign was weak, so when Mysterio his the 619 on him towards the end of the match, I knew it was going to end in a favorable manner for the little guy. Other than Mysterio's title win, this match was forgettable. This match just seemed wasted for some reason, I felt that it was just another Smackdown match up, rather than a ppv caliber match.

The Miz came out doing the What's Up rap with his own Lyrics, and it appeared that his mic didn't work at the end, and it was interesting to see...even though I didn't care. I feel like this match was already done, and it was, so when it came time for it, I was already tired of the ppv.

The Miz defeated R Truth in a United States Championship Match

This match was given some time, and I can't believe that I'm saying this...The Miz is actually quite good. Truth fought hard and it seemed like he was going to get the title again, but it was Miz that turned this match into a win with a nice counter pin. There were some hard hitting moments, with both men going for big moves, but when the match was over, it was a pinfall counter that won Miz the match up. I didn't hate the match, but I didn't think it was all that great either.

The Hart Dynasty defeated The USOS

This six man tag was all over the place. It had a lot of action, with both teams putting on watchable efforts. The USOS, I thought, would get the one up, but it never happened. The Harts ended up winning this one, even though it was Natalya that got the pinfall. The match had a lot of action, and some nice high flying points, but I don't see this feud having a lot of legs. I'm already tired of the feud, if you can call it that. This match didn't even get the crowd going when The Harts won, so that's that.

Sheamus defeated John Cena & Edge & Randy Orton in the WWE Championship Match

The WWE championship match didn't exactly have me too thrilled on paper. I didn't care about all the components to the match up. The match had your standard near falls, and big moves. It boiled down to two wrestlers in ring at a time, with big moves taking out several components at different points. Cena wasn't much of a factor at times, which was definitely nice to see, but that didn't mean he would be gone the whole time. Orton was all over this match, and you could tell that they were being careful with his shoulder at times.

I thought for sure Edge had this thing won with a Spear attempt on Cena, only to have Super Cena emerge and get some “Vintage” John Cena moves. The match broke down with Orton and Sheamus getting involved in ring. After some quick moves, and counters, Super Cena once again got control and locked in an STF on Edge, and this thing looked all but over until Sheamus ran in and tried to steal the match.

Sheamus used the ref as a weapon at one point, or at least to counter Cena's offense, and it looked like the winner was going to be Sheamus, but it wasn't in the cards. I can't stress enough that this match was definitely back and forth, and didn't really look to let any one competitor get the most of anything, except for Cena jumping up and getting hyped now and then.

Backstage the NXT guys jumped some guys that were watching a monitor set up. Meanwhile, Michael Cole got all scared and left the announce table. The NXT rookies ran into the ring and attacked! I marked out huge for this stuff, I can't help it. The invasion interrupted the match up, before any clear winner was taking advantage. After the NXT guys nearly killed Cena, Sheamus jumped in and got the quick pinfall victory and is the NEW WWE CHAMPION! That's right, Sheamus ran in, pinned Cena and ran off out in the crowd, leaving Cena to get beat up by the NXT guys.

As the NXT guys ran off, they left Edge, Orton, and Cena at the ring. Notice that this time NO ONE came to save anyone from the NXT beat down. The ppv ended with all men in the ring beat up, and the crowd chanting FATAL FOUR WAY, and that was that. Not a bad ppv ending, not a great one either, but I'm glad I saw it.

I was all set to review this, but some joker put up an NSV file and I couldn't find anything that worked with it, so here are the results and NO review.

Because Doug Williams was unable to make the show, he was stripped of the X- Division Championship. So a four man Xscape Match was set with the winner of the bout taking his spot in the Triple Threat match for the X-Division Championship: Homicide defeats Brian Kendrick, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin by escaping the cage first.

I had to take some time on this because I didn’t get to see it live on Sunday, but I have gotten it and now I’m going to review the first PPV of the Hogan and Bischoff era of TNA.

TNA Against All Odds 2010 Review

The Pope D’Angelo Dinero defeated Desmond Wolfe

The Pope was impressive, but that doesn’t mean that Desmond Wolfe wasn’t on top of his game. This match was actually really good and Wolfe impressed me more than anytime I’ve seen on impact thus far. I really enjoyed how the two went back and forth to create a good overall pace. It was never too fast, never too slow, and the psychology of the moments were more along the lines of a technical masterpiece than anything else. I wish that the wrestling world was always this good. The Pope is solid, it’s amazing that WWE let this guy go, because his timing and skills are really good, and the crowd loves it. The Dinero Express was awesome, and Wolfe couldn’t overcome the powers of the Pope. The Pope advances in the 8 card stud tournament in a good overall opening to the ppv. The Pope and Wolfe both had great moments. The superplex from Wolfe was great, the Pope leap frogging Desmond and hitting a sick flying, twisting forearm was just brilliant; one of the best matches I’ve seen so far this year…yeah…I know, rare.

Ric Flair was hunting down Bischoff and tell him he had a problem with the referee for tonight’s main event.

Matt Morgan defeated Hernandez

The tag team champions had to face each other in the 8 card stud tournament, and I was surprised that management didn’t make a bigger deal about it. Then again, this isn’t wwe, and they aren’t going to split them just yet, I think. These guys do compliment each other’s style, when they are tagging I matches, but not against each other. Super Mex looked to have dislocated his shoulder on a bump to the ramp, Morgan couldn’t catch Hernandez, and this match just had botches and problems left and right. Hernandez eventually lost this match with Matt Morgan pulling the tights and putting this match out of its misery. The first match was good, this one sucked.

Mr. Anderson defeated Kurt Angle

Far from a four star match up, this one was actually quite good in a potential feud that could last a long time. Mr. Anderson was all heel in this match, and while Angle had some highlights and had Anderson reeling, Anderson never looked like he was going to lose. Angle got busted open with his own medal and after hitting an exposed corner got hit with the mic check, and lost to the rising star Mr. Anderson. It was a standard match that wasn’t half bad. I liked it for the traditional style, and Angle losing after talking such big stuff before the match was good overall.

Abyss defeated Mick Foley

Foley and Abyss barely put on a match worth mentioning. It was an extreme rules match and it was just terrible. Foley is way past his prime and really looked lethargic overall. I was tired, and Abyss wins. He was sad after the match.

The Nasty Boys defeated Team 3D

This was one poor showing. I’m not as hateful on the Nasty Boys because I’ve seen them have epic matches in NWA and WCW but this was not a young Nasty Boys. This was a terrible fat nasty Boys and a fat Team 3d. Slow moving, terrible moments, just a sad display, I was bored and hated it. This sucked. Face it, it sucked, I hope this is all over. The feud that is…man did the ppv take a nose dive. Oh and Jimmy Hart showed up to help the Nasty Boys win...same finish as when they beat the hart foundation for the titles.

The Pope D’Angelo Dinero defeated Matt Morgan

This was an interesting match that saw The Pope hitting much technical wrestling on a much bigger Matt Morgan and cutting him down to size. The Pope was like a buzz saw in this match up, he kept hitting Morgan in the legs, and moving out of the way at key points, eventually getting the win. Morgan was no slouch though, he hit some hard shots too.

Mr. Anderson defeated Abyss

Anderson has beaten Abyss before, so this rematch definitely threw some doubt in the airs as to whether or not he can advance. Anderson put on another show of talent, but we all knew he had more to give than that one back suplex that nearly injured Randy Orton. Abyss sucks right now, and while he had some shots on Anderson, Anderson won the match up. The whole “ANDERSON” thing is great in promo’s, just fyi. Abyss didn’t look like he was going to win, although it wasn’t a walk in the park for Anderson either.

Aj Styles defeated Samoa Joe

This match wasn’t half bad, Samoa Joe threw a lot of offense at Aj, and Styles still managed to hit some major hits. Joe looked like he was going to win but Flair pulled him out before he could win the match and Styles capitalized after the fact, Styles hit the Styles clash and Bischoff had no choice but to count the three, and it was all over. This wasn’t a four star classic, but it wasn’t terrible at all. Joe threw up a good effort and styles is always interesting to watch at a ppv.

Scott Hall and Six Pack attacked The Pope backstage before his match with Anderson.

The finals of the 8 card stud tournament was the main event, and it featured two of the top up and comers in TNA. It would be interesting to see who would come out on top.

The Pope D’Angelo Dinero defeated Mr. Anderson

The Pope was visibly winded and hurt after the attack and Anderson was not letting up at all. Anderson met The Pope on the ramp and was just attacking straight forward. Anderson was stunned with how much life The Pope managed to create towards the middle of the match up. This match was long and really was methodically paced. Anderson had The Pope defeated at most steps in this match up and I thought it was going to be all over several times. The crowd had the wind knocked out of their sails as Anderson hit the mic check, but when The Pope kicked out, all bets were off. Anderson hit a rolling finisher, but missed a dive off the top and The Pope Express ended this match up, and the Pope was left standing at the end of the night. Anderson was out cold.

This next match was so convoluted that I just copied this from another site...

Mick Foley defending the TNA title in an Ultimate Sacrifice match against Sting, Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett. If Angle is pinned he loses his status as Godfather of the Main Event Mafia, if Sting is pinned he will never wrestle again, and if Jarrett is pinned he gives up his stake in TNA.

Jarrett strokes Angle from the ropes onto a chair and Sting came in and pins Angle at 14:57. Sting is now the godfather of the Main Event Mafia.

I couldn't afford this ppv so I didn't even see it. I got the results, and you know what? GREAT! I am glad I did not order TNA Sacrifice, this piece of trash company is worse than WCW 2000 ever was. Man I'm so sick of this company putting out the worst wrestling possible.

Oh and I'm kind of ticked of personally because not only am I BROKE, no one buys crap from my links, but now WWE is teaming up with HULU!

Why am I still paying for cable?

Man I'm having a hard time today. Oh well.

WWE Backlash 2009 Review

After a weird week with my cable set up, I finally got things ironed out, at least I hoped. The 2009 Backlash ppv was looking to be quite strong on paper, but would it deliver? We’ll see…here is my review of sorts of Backlash 2009 WWE ppv.

Christian defeated Jack Swagger to win the ECW Championship

Right off the bat the ECW Championship was on the line. Ever since Christian came into the WWE he’s been fighting an uphill battle to get back to the main event spotlight. Jack Swagger has been “the man” over on ECW for so long that it was nice to see a little different event. This match started with a little back and forth, but moreover Jack Swagger was dominating, showing that he could manhandle Christian with his power. Swagger seemed one step ahead of Christian’s counters early on, and it was interesting to note that Swagger was made to look like the smarter wrestler, as he was definitely showing off his move set, which was a change for a champion in the WWE. Christian turned things around mid match by putting his knees up after Swagger tried a splash using the ropes. Christian got a second wind and looked poised to win with a top rope sunset flip, but it only garnered a two count. Swagger kept going for his gut wrench power bomb, but Christian kept fighting it off. Christian managed to pull a tornado ddt from the far corner, and it seemed mathematic at this point, but it was only a two count. The match progressed into near fall after near fall with neither opponent getting too close. A frustrated Swagger seemed to have things sewn up, but it was Christian that got the last laugh as he won this match and became the ECW champion! Christian is the new ECW champion. Christian used an exposed turnbuckle to set up the unprettier and the win.

Chris Jericho defeated Ricky The Dragon Steamboat

This match wasn’t that great. Sure the two competitors tried to put on a good show, but Ricky Steamboat is way past his prime. Steamboat started this match off with some basic mat wrestling, Jericho tried to brawl up front, but it didn’t seem to work out too well early on. Jericho took control of this match up with ease and started to systematically breakdown steamboat. A back suplex out the corner was a nice touch to an otherwise very slow moving match up. A bunch of nearfalls later, including the Walls of Jericho countered into a figure four, and we had ourselves an ok match up. However, it spun back into the Walls of Jericho for the win. Steamboat put up a good fight, but didn’t win this one, and Jericho once again wins.

Kane defeated CM Punk

I didn’t know this match was going to be on the card, but it was indeed interesting to see. The match started with Punk going all out to stop Kane. Kane was taking full control towards the mid match. Punk nearly got an STF, but wasn’t able to finish Kane, and was attempting to get the upper hand, but Kane seemed like he was going to win big. However, CM Punk was dropping bombs. After a huge choke slam, Kane picked up the victory.

Jeff Hardy defeated Matt Hardy in an I Quit Match

Jeff Hardy started this match straight up, fighting with all he had to seclude Matt Hardy. Matt had a lot of nothing to give early on, as Jeff had this thing sewn up early on. Jeff was putting on a clinic, putting his best moves forward. But Matt Hardy wasn’t going to lie down and just lose, the match turned around and Jeff Hardy was now on the receiving end of things. The match began to slow down tremendously, and towards the middle it was just random rest holds. The longest being a half Boston Crab by Matt on Jeff, that just seemed overkill for such a high profile match up. The match really had the crowd mesmerized as Matt Hardy was knocked out in ring and Jeff went outside to get a table. Jeff duct taped Matt’s legs and arms together all while on the table. He then tied him to the table with ropes! Jeff then proceeded to set up a ladder! Matt got on the mic and said he Loved Jeff and it was weird. Jeff climbed to the top of the ladder, Matt then quit; losing the match. However, Jeff still delivered a huge leg drop off the top rope through a table!

Santina defeated Beth Phoenix

The Great Khali was scheduled to kiss “Santina” at this point in the ppv. Santina claimed that she was in love with Jim Ross and that she couldn’t kiss Great Khali. Khali agreed not to kiss Santina if she kissed JR! Beth Phoenix came out and told everyone that Santina was really Santino! Khali hit Beth Phoenix in the head, and then pushed her over! Santina then jumped into action and pinned Beth Phoenix! This is the weirdest piece of ppv history ever in the WWE.

Post match Santina ran out of the ring clutching his/her chest! So much or that pg rating huh?

Ted Dibiase Jr, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton defeated Shane McMahon, Batista, and Triple H

Randy Orton is the new WWE Championship

This match bega with a complete melee; Triple H and Orton immediately took each other outside of the ring, and down the ramp. Triple H returned without Orton and it seemed to be two on three. At least at first, as Cody Rhodes ad Ted Dibiase were stuck trying to battle the McMahon team. Shane & Cody got things started as the bell rang and the match started out, and then it was Triple H and Batista that were working over Priceless with ease. Batista hit a nice delayed vertical suplex, and it was better if not as good as The Franchise Shane Douglas! Batista put on a clinic in there, beating the crap out of Cody and Ted. He stopped short of delivering the Batista Bomb. Randy Orton ran down to the ring, and brought himself back into the match up. He fought off Batista’s attack and brought the match to their favor. It seemed like whenever one team got on a roll, it was turned over immediately with a hot tag, making for a nice fast paced match, but no clear story, which isn’t terrible, but it just seemed different from the traditional six man tag fair that the WWE usually throws at us on ppv. I spoke too soon, because moments later this match up turned into a slower paced match as Shane Mcmahon was isolated in the ring against Cody Rhodes. Priceless then took turns working over Shane McMahon in this match up, and it looked like he was on his way to getting pinned. The ring cleared and only two people were left in the match up, and Triple H was knocked out with an RKO! Then after a very false finish with the bell rung and all, the ref distracted Orton punted the crap out of Triple H and pinned him. Batista essentially cost Triple H the belt because he distracted the ref and well…I’m doing a terrible job explaining it all, it was really chaotic at the end. Wow…Triple H finally loses. Randy Orton pinned Triple H and afterwards was carried out on a stretcher as Triple H was kicked really hard in the head. I don’t think he was seriously injured, but it looked bad. Maybe this is going to mark a break for Triple H for a while now. Who knows?

The crowd was yelling at Batista left and right. Death to Batista etc; Triple H was wheeled out of the ringside area via the ramp on a full stretcher.

Edge defeated John Cena in the World Championship Last Man Standing match

This match started out slow, and I wasn’t really into it. I have seen these guys wrestle way too much in my lifetime. I don’t know if anyone really cared about this match, as it was really not going strong at all for me, and while the crowd to be into it somewhat, I wasn’t at all. Edge had some rest hold in and continued to just try to rest hold Cena to death. He had a sleeper hold locked in for a good 8 to 10 minutes. The action spilled outside, proving once again that this match might have some valid points. However, the two men moved back into the ring for more. Cena brought the steel steps into the ring, and was keen on using them to knockout Edge. Edge was the one that capitalized on using the stairs as a weapon in this match, hitting Cena square in the shoulders with them after a running Baseball Slide into the corner. John Cena lifted the steps and threw them at Edge outside of the ring, hitting Edge square in the face with them, and nearly knocking him out. The lamest part of this match was that both competitors nearly knocked each other out with punches. Yep. Punches. They made it interesting with Edge trying a “You Can’t See Me” which led John Cena to hit the STF! Edge was tapping like a drunk man, but it wasn’t helping at all. Cena hit a mid rope Attitude Adjustment and this thing looked said and done. Edge was completely out, and it did look good, as it waked up the crowd and made me almost interested in this match up. Cena leaped off the top rope but Edge caught him in mid air and hit a SPEAR! This looked like the End for sure. Edge then propped Cena onto the announcers table outside the ring and it was to no avail! Cena dumped Edge onto the first three rows of FANS! That’s right, EDGE was thrown into the first three ROWS OF FANS! The two guys managed to get themselves to the ramp area and shades of Royal Rumble 99 hit me. Edge then hit a nice ddt on the ramp! Cena looked out cold, but I knew it wasn’t over. This match slowly turned me into a believer as I really wanted to see who would win this one. The Big Show came out! The Big Show then grabbed Cena and dropped him off the side of a Stage into a weird Electrical unit that Exploded! Yep. This weird glass, electrical light fixture completed exploded with Cena inside! It was a really interesting lighting effect and Edge won this match! Edge is the NEW World Heavyweight champion!

Not a bad ppv. That ending was great. I wanted C.M Punk to cash in Money in the Bank right then and there, but it didn’t look like it was in the cards. It looked marvelous seriously, it looked amazing, Cena took a sweet bump right into the stage lights and the explosion rocked the crowd and it looked legit. I liked how it turned out.

That ending sealed the deal. Edge champion, wow; Orton and Edge are now champions.

Good overall ppv. Cena looked dead.
