WWF Coliseum Video Presents Hulkamania

Coliseum Video released this classic tape that featured some of the best wrestling from the early years, with their second release. Right now, you may not be a big fan of Hulk Hogan, but he wasn’t always a comedy or parody of a wrestling. That’s not what you get with Hulkamania, you get him at his absolute best. Hogan follows through some great matches and interviews with several major players from 1984.

Sure, this is mostly a fluff and edited piece, but it still provides you with a bit of history from the past. If you’re trying to complete a collection from Coliseum video, you absolutely need to get this. Not only is it entertaining, it shows the Hulkster in a whole new light. Most of you will not remember how amazing the guy was, and this proves it.

For those that are looking for a good copy of Hulkamania, you will be delighted by the fact that you can find it for relatively cheap. When I first bought it back in the 1990s, I had to purchase it from a video store that was closing down.

The matches that are found on this VHS tape from Coliseum video includes:

08/04/84 Hulk Hogan vs. Greg Valentine
12/10/84 Hulk Hogan vs. John Studd
08/21/84 TNT Show: Hulk Hogan makes protein shakes
06/17/84 Hulk Hogan vs. David Schultz
04/06/84 Hulk Hogan vs. John Studd (steel cage match)
1980s Hulk Hogan interview
01/23/84 Hulk Hogan vs. The Iron Sheik (Hogan wins WWF World Title)

I’m recommending that you check this out, it’s well worth it, if I do say so myself. Click here to read more about it, or even buy it for cheap.

WWF Coliseum Video Presents Wrestlings Bloopers Bleeps and Bodyslams Review

Wrestling's Bloopers, Bleeps and Bodyslams is one of those releases from the WWF that you absolutely want to have. Why? It’s the first one released by the company and one example of how wrestling shouldn’t be taken so seriously. This tape features some moments that are 100% unedited, uncensored, and completely hilarious.

Even though it’s only 84 minutes long, it packs in a lot of features that you’re going to face palm. Many of the clips are from 1984, a time when wrestling was set to seriously get bigger. This is not attitude era, obviously, but it has some serious history for those that are looking to collection and get their hands on all WWF Coliseum video releases.

Wrestling's Bloopers, Bleeps and Bodyslams has some classic names and features including segments with, Freddie Blassie, Mike Sharpe, Lou Albano, Iron Sheik, Wild Samoans, Hulk Hogan, Johnny Valiant, Adrian Adonis, Dick Murdoch, Andre the Giant, and Rowdy Roddy Piper, just to name a few. There are a few matches thrown in to level out the funny moments, and should definitely be worth your time.

Why You Should Own It

When it comes to these rare tapes, some of them are great, and others are terrible. This is an example of a great one. This is the second volume in the series that the WWF put out called Supertape. The first one came out with a cage match that featured Hogan, Brutus Beefcake, Savage and Zeus, which was not previously available on tape. These were before ppv took over the great matches, and this tape is one of the best ones for classic WWF action.

The Best Matches

The best matches on this tape are easy to see, and might surprise you.

The Rockers vs. The Powers of Pain is a good example of how the smaller wrestlers were getting over in due time. The Powers of Pain are huge in contrast to the Rockers but they don’t let that bring them down. This match had some great tandem action, even though it seemed painful at some points.

Bret Hart and Rick Martel put together a cool match that showcased both the veteran style of the Model and Bret Hart’s speed and agility as an up and coming superstar. This is a classic, and you will find it to be quite memorable.

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Ravishing Rick Rude in a steel cage match! Now this is a great match that most people didn’t see, and it’s available here. This match was part of their feud that they had all through 1989 and wow, they put together some moments, and if you missed it, you need to get this tape just to see this in higher quality than you will find on YouTube.

The bloopers reel is ok, and the Hogan match has some nice work in it, even though you have to only think of him in that light and not what he’s become in these modern times.

You can buy WWF Supertape Vol. 2 (1990) via eBay, or you can click here and purchase it straight up. This is a rare tape and finding the original Coliseum Video packaging is rough, so make sure you buy it here with the links provided.
