WWE 205 Live February 27, 2018 Results and Review

Roderick Strong Kicks The Hell Out of Kalisto - Src WWE dot com
This week’s edition of 205 Live continued the tournament for the cruiserweight title, and it’s an interesting line up. There were some solid matches here, and despite the great wrestling, I still miss Enzo and some of the character driven interactions, specifically the dancing of the Zo Train.

Cedric Alexander defeated TJP

The formula of these matches are starting to get a bit predictable if you ask me. This match was good, and it had TJP doing a lot to ground Alexander throughout the match. It was interesting to see them battle, and it was fascinating to see how it all worked out, but overall it was telegraphed to be a loss for Alexander. TJP was able to garner a great deal of momentum until the end, where Alexander hit the Lumbar Check and pinned JTP clean. That’s the end of that.

Roderick Strong defeated Kalisto

This just looked painful at times. Roderick Strong worked well with Kalisto, but he was working like Dean Malenko here. It was fascinating to see Kalisto was able to throw in a few moves, but in the end Roderick Strong just had too many moves for the high flyer to overcome. Strong is a sure fire man to get to the Cruiserweight final. He’s an incredible talent and it showed here for this match.

That was it. Just two matches to fill 45 minutes of time, and they weren’t half bad. The crowd wasn’t that into them, but the matches succeeded in showcasing the talent and working towards pure wrestling, without a lot of gimmicks. Not bad.
