WWE Smackdown Live September 18, 2018 Results and Review Still The B Show Today

Rusev Day is Done - Source WWE
The show begins with talking. The Miz starts with MIz TV and ugh, so tired of talking on WWE shows.

The Miz called out Daniel Bryan and that forced Bryan to run down and beat up the MIz, only to have him hit Miz and drive him into Maryse. This thing just became a blood feud, which is an interesting element overall. This little focus was interesting, and Bryan seemed to be saddened by how this worked out. This thing got emotional, and Maryse did a stretcher job….nope, she was playing possum and The Miz attacked only to knock Maryse off the apron, and then Bryan knocking Miz out of the ring to the crowd going all out.

Cesaro defeated Kofi Kingston

A great back and forth match, with a lot of action, and good overall flow, we got Cesaro showing off just how good of a wrestler he can be. Kofi is great too, and he threw down some great moments, as he got the L on this one. This could very well be the best match in the WWE this week, so I had fun watching it go down. Cesaro is a beast, yo, a true beast.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Rusev

A distraction roll up ends a match that was actually pretty good. But since it ended with a distraction roll up and this is the end of RUSEV day, I give up. I’m just going to throw papers in the air and give up. Aiden English after the fact just starts beating up Rusev, why? I don’t get it. This is stupid. Meh. Meh!

Aj Styles defeated Andrade Cien Almas

Almas should have won this match. He was fresh, he didn’t have a match Sunday, and he was just a better wrestler here, as Aj Styles sold his injuries from the match he had on Sunday. While he did a great deal of selling, Almas didn’t get run over, but the match didn’t go the way I would’ve booked it. Almas did put on a great deal of offense, so it wasn’t like this match sucked, but it definitely seemed to be telegraphed to get Aj Styles a strong win again. Styles did great here, and Almas gave him a good match too, but it should’ve gone the way of Almas.

After the match, Samoa Joe attacked and beat up Styles and that was that, well, not really, the two would brawl.

Asuka defeated One of the Iconics

I should learn their name. But when you give me a minute or 2 minute match, you don’t give me much time to learn or care about any team. Asuka wins, in a joke of a match.

Becky Lynch Coronation

This ended in a brawl between Flair and Lynch. It was ok. It’s lame that the only story lines that the WWE can come up with is friends turning on one another out of jealousy etc.

Smackdown left A LOT of talent off the show, and well, that makes it the B show yet again. No R Truth, no Sanity, no Tye Dillinger, and no lots of people on the roster.
