WWE Smackdown 2/6/09 Results and Review Elimination Finals

WWE started off the night with some great action. There was an over the top battle royal to determine the last entrant into the Elimination Chamber at Now Way Out. It looked good overall, but there were some NO NAME idiots in there.

Vladimir Kozlov won an over the top battle royal

Did you really think Kizarni was going to win? Oh and what about Hawkins or Ryder? If that wasn’t enough they also had Jesse & Festus in there, and others. These guys aren’t even contenders, why would they put these idiots in the match? Filler. Lame. The match turned into the Kozllov show, as he was throwing people out left and right. The final five were The Colons, R Truth and Kozlov! Wait! I think that’s only four, man I’m dumb tonight. Kozlov and Truth were the last ones in the ring and they went at it. Truth got one shot in before getting a battering ram and then thrown over the top! Kozlov will join the elimination chamber match up.

Matt Hardy and Shane Helms brawled in the ring. This was not a match, just an open brawl.

MVP defeated Shelton Benjamin

This match was somewhat standard. It was mostly Shelton Benjamin trying to get things going for himself. MVP did get some good shots in, but overall this was a great match up for Shelton Benjamin. He didn’t win this one, but the match had him going for broke, as usual. MVP now gets a title shot for winning this match up.

John Morrison & The Miz, and The Brian Kendrick defeated R Truth and The Colon Brothers

This match was fast paced and exactly what you would expect from these competitors. The guys really tried to fit in a good match up overall. It wasn’t half bad, and after the dust settled from a melee of signature moves, The Kendrick nailed The Kendrick and it was all done. The bad guys win this match up.

Michelle McCool defeated Eve

This match was interesting to say the least. Eve is a new comer to the WWE and this was her first match. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed. She’s definitely green out there, and Michelle McCool didn’t help her cope at all. Michelle put an end to this miserable match up by locking in the Figure Four Leg Lock for the win.

Umaga defeated Kung Fu Naki

Umaga killed Kung Fu Naki. That’s basically it, there was nothing great about the match. Kung Fu Naki is still employed? What the heck is going on with the WWE? Umaga wins with four or five moves, nothing cool in this match at all.

Triple H & Undertaker defeated The Big Show

I was surprised with how long this match went for. Seriously, this match had some legs on it. It seemed to be a good thing, because the guys went out there and threw down some good overall hits. Triple H is looking a little tired though, and Edge was looking good. In fact, Edge carried this match alongside The Big Show. Those two really made for a good match up. Big Show even did a good splash! Undertaker and Triple H are not good together, and from what I know they hate each other backstage. Triple H was getting worked for the most part, but then Undertaker got the hot tag and things changed for the better. Big Show basically abandoned Edge and Undertaker had his way with him. A huge Tombstone later, and Edge was basically buried. Triple H and Undertaker were left standing, both of which barely had enough room for their ego’s in the ring.

WWE Smackdown 12/6/08 Review and Results

Here we go, the prerecorded Friday night tradition, and we’re back in action! Remember, next week I will not be reviewing the ecw and raw, but will come back strong for TNA and Smackdown. So here we go, this is how it went down tonight:

Edge defeated Kung Fu Naki

I guess it was time to bury Kung Fu Naki. Edge got a really easy match here, and it was a shame, but I guess this is what happens huh? Too bad, Funaki looked good out there, but it wasn’t meant to be I guess.

Maria defeated Michelle McCool

This match was building from the past and we got it here These two have improved their wrestling styles a little, but still don’t match the physical prowess that the TNA knockouts have. There were some good hits from McCool, as she really was putting a good effort in, while Maria was taking some stiff shots from McCool, which seemed a little odd to me. Maria managed to pull off the victory with a major roll up, putting all her weight on McCool and of course winning this NON TITLE match. Lame. At least this was quick.

Hurricane Helms defeated MVP

MVP lost a major match to Hurricane Helms. Helms didn’t miss a step, but his offense was once again ground based, rather than high flying. MVP took it to Helms for a short time, but Helms really got the better of MVP by hitting most of his offense including the shining wizard! This match was shorter than most, and it ended well for Helms. I guess MVP is on his way out or something, because he hasn’t won a match in a long time. Sad huh? Helms looked great.

Triple H and Jeff Hardy defeated Hawkins and Ryder

The former Edgekins were first up to fight Triple H and Jeff Hardy here in the first match up in this tag team gauntlet. Hawkins and Ryder weren’t much for a match up for the two main eventers.

The Miz and John Morrison defeated Triple H and Jeff Hardy

The second team was going to pose a bigger threat for the two big guys in the ring, and it showed. The Miz and Morrison frustrated the two enemies and the fight soon went against each other and the team imploded. Triple H and Jeff Hardy attacked each other after the match wasn’t going so well for them and things were getting really out of hand, so much so that the ref counted Hardy and Triple H out, and then a score of refs came out to try and stop the two from killing each other. This match was pointless.

Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero (no contest)

Chavo hasn’t wrestled a worthwhile match up in a while, so it was nice to see him get into a match with the ECW champion, however I knew that there was no way that he could win. He did start the match well, and he got some great moves in, but it was Matt Hardy’s fast paced counters that made this match worthwhile. This match was going well but Kozlov ran in and interfered with the match up, causing the match to get thrown out. Matt Hardy then sold the injury a lot, and it looked like he was going to need medical attention.

Undertaker defeated Big Show in a Steel Cage Match

This match could’ve been a lot better. It was a slow moving match, as they usually have, but the two used the cage to their advantage completely. They also took bumps from the top of the ropes and even a small bump near the top of the cage. This match was going back and forth until Undertaker got his triangle choke submission and Big Show tapped out like a drunk man, and it was all over. Not bad, but not good either.

WWE Smackdown 11/14/08 Review and Results

Another smackdown rolls through the television, and it was recorded previously, lame huh? Big thins were promised, and we’ll see if it delivered!

We open with The Undertaker inside an oversized metal casket. I would know, I used to sell them. Jeff Hardy comes onto the screen and tells taker that he should worry about him.

Matt Hardy defeated Shelton Benjamin

This match was billed as champion vs. champion and that was suppose to get me to care. I only care about these types of matches when the titles are on the line. Why was Hogan vs. Warrior special? Champion vs. Champion and both titles were on the line right? OH man, my memory is slippin. Anyway, this match up is slow to start and Hardy was getting worked by Benjamin with a lot of rest holds and simple wrestling maneuvers; Hardy’s knee is messed up and it showed in this match up. I’m not sure if Hardy was just selling more, or if he legitimate injured. Benjamin made this match really good, I am gaining an all new trust in his wrestling ability. He’s doing great in there and Hardy was trying to hang on, limping all the time in this match up. I’m not sure what happened, but the crowd died in this match up and the Camera had some problems too, it seemed odd. Hardy wins with the twist of fate, but this match had some technical and crowd problems. I’m not sure what was wrong, if you noticed it, kudo’s for you. This match was ok, it seemed plagued by Hardy’s knee and the dead crowd, but otherwise it was an ok opener.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Carlito Colon

Carlito was looking good in this match against Kendrick, but Kendrick was taking liberties on Carlito, working over his leg and trying everything in his power to get things in his favor. This match had some good spots, the Carlito floating back elbow was awesome! Kendrick nearly losing this one was good, but of course Kendrick managed to pull off the victory in the end with little to no help from Ezekiel. Unless you count Primo getting killed outside the ring by Ezekiel; this match wasn’t anything that special, and overall, it was about as good as an old velocity match up. Kendrick wins clean? Awesome!

They had a contract signing. I hate these things, they are pointless; except in this one, when Jeff Hardy crashed the signing and jumped off the top rope and put Kozlov through a table! Then he tore up the wwe contract and threw it in the face of TRIPLE HUH (no I didn’t misspell it)

Kung Fu Naki defeated MVP

MVP once again loses a match. This time around he lost to Kung fu Naki in a fast match with really no major offense getting thrown in. It was a horrible example of a match. MVP was getting worked really bad. I hate this crap, MVP is getting buried for some reason and I wish I knew why.

The Great Khali kiss cam sucks. Seriuosly, this thing is the worst thing to happen to professional wrestling ever!

Michelle McCool defeated Maria

Maria has improved somewhat, but she’s not that good. She’s a little slow on the reaction and McCool has improved a little too. However, these two aren’t that great overall. They make a lot of minor mistakes and the wrestling looks sloppy to me. McCool won with an Ankle lock submission, prompting Festus to run down and try to attack McCool.

Jeff Hardy defeated Undertaker

This match could’ve gone either way. I’m not sure who I wanted to win this match more. Hardy opened up this match with everything but the kitchen sink. He was throwing himself from pillar to post trying to attack the Undertaker, but Taker caught him and threw him into the steel steps, and things weren’t going to well for hardy at the initial break. Lame…commercials. Then this thing took off full throttle folks! This match got EXTREME! PLUNDER ALERT! Big Show came in and started mopping up. Hardy delievered a HUGE leg drop over a ladder onto Taker for the pin, and it was over. Undertaker loses to Jeff Hardy seemingly clean! That’s right, Hardy wins!

This edition of Smackdown wasn't all that great. That last match was cool though, I really liked that. The opener was good too, overall not the greatest night in wrestling but something tells me that the main event at Survivor Series will be a triple threat match...mark my words.
