Good Riddance Cody Rhodes Is Gone

Cody Rhodes Wasn't Happy With A Six Figure Career
Over the weekend Cody Rhodes asked for his release from WWE, and they obliged to let him go. Twitter and other news outlets were really sad about the departure, but I keep it 100. I don’t see this as a sad thing, and I don’t see it as a wasted opportunity on WWE’s part.

Let’s put this clearly, Cody Rhodes aspirations were to be a WWE champion, but that’s never, ever, ever, going to happen. So he got butt hurt and quit. Oh well, goodbye.

No One Bought Merch

Before I get too far into this, let’s set this straight. You didn’t buy Cody Rhodes merch. You didn’t bring Cody Rhodes signs, and you didn’t go nuts for Stardust. Maybe for a moment, but not long term. Guess what happens to wrestlers that you don’t support? They get fired, they quit, and you don’t hear from them.

Now, if I’m wrong, then when Cody shows up in independent wrestling shows, let’s see those tickets sell out, let’s see him bring a failing brand like TNA upwards. Remember, Christian Cage? Remember Kurt Angle? Remember Sting? These guys all had a chance to bring TNA up and guess what? They didn’t do it.

Rhodes may be able to leave a nice six figure job, but most of us have to work 9 to 5 and make peanuts. We pray for dollars but we work for change, and yet all of these idiots are so sad and are clapping his leave. Screw you guys.

Rhodes is a talent.

He is a human being, and he deserves happiness, but not at my expense. Good riddance. Get the F out. Go make a name for yourself anywhere else, and then come back. Let’s see if you’re really that good at what you do. You want WWE championship gold? Prove it. Until then, the following statements are nothing more than a butt hurt wrestler crying about getting paid six figures.

The best actors don’t take lesser roles? Are you kidding me? BILL MURRAY “GARFIELD” Get the F Out Cody Rhodes, good riddance.

This is what Cody Rhodes had to say, and you can hear the millennial, self important, "i'm special" attitude come through.

WWE Superstars 5/13/2016 Another Stardust Crews Match

WWE Superstars is an underrated show. Cesaro opens up this hour of wrestling, and you know what? I’m a fan of this type of show. Less talking, more wrestling.

WWE Superstars 5/13/2016 Results and Review

Cesaro defeated Bo Dallas

This match went as well as you’d expect for Bo Dallas. Dallas got beat by a flurry of Cesaro standards. Curtis Axel couldn’t help at ringside, and Dallas once again proves that he’s the leader of the Social Jobbers, as they lose quite a bit. Entertaining, but at the end of the day, not that grand.

Apollo Crews defeated Stardust

This was essentially the same match from WWE Main Event. Stardust focused on the arm of Apollo instead of the ribs, but it wasn’t effective. Crews did NOT steamroll Stardust, it was mostly Stardust getting all of the offense here, but Crews turned things around and got the big win. However, he did not beat Stardust with ease, it was an all out fight. Good match, too bad no one saw it.

Overall Rating: 5/10

Good wrestling, not great. I’m surprised that no podcasts are talking about the pure wrestling that happens on this show. The only downside is that they recap a LOT of RAW. It’s boring.

WWE Main Event 5/10/2016 Results and Review

On my quest to be the Classic Game Room of Pro Wrestling blogs, here is a review and results break down of WWE Main Event from 5/10/2016. I watch too much wrestling these days, that’s for sure.

WWE Main Event 5/10/2016 Results and Review

Big Cass defeated Curtis Axel

The social outcasts are once again the center of being buried. That’s right, they came down and were great on the mic, but Big Cass is getting pushed huge since Enzo was injured. He came down and put down the law on Curtis Axel. Not a bad match, but if you’re Don Tony from the Don Tony and Kevin Castle show, you didn’t like Cass on the mic, since he didn’t sound Italian enough. This was a throwaway match.

Apollo Crews defeated Stardust

Stardust put on a showcase. He beat Apollo Crews up quite a bit through this match, but it was Crews that got the upper hand. I for sure thought Stardust had this, blocking some of the big Crews moves, but nope, a sit down power bomb pin was the end of this one, and Crews is still undefeated in the WWE.

Baron Corbin defeated Zack Ryder

This was the longest match that I’ve seen from Corbin in a while, or at least that I can remember. Ryder wasn’t getting buried here, he threw out a great deal of his offense against Corbin, and it was nice to see him get a strong loss in defeat. Baron Corbin did not run rough shot here, he put on a few moves, but it was Ryder that was taking away this match up, and definitely made me think that this match was going to go into the Bro’s favor. Corbin won with the end of days, but it wasn’t an easy win for him.

WWE Main Event 5/10/2016 Results

Big Cass defeated Curtis Axel
Apollo Crews defeated Stardust
Baron Corbin defeated Zack Ryder

Overall, not a bad show. Lots of wrestling here, not a lot of filler, and good commentary with The King and Tom Phillips. I don’t know why more podcasts miss their chance to review this show, the WWE is putting on quality elements if you like pure-wrestling.

WWE Main Event 5/3/2016 Results and Review Damien Sandow’s Second To Last Match

And away we go, more content, more reviews, more results, and more time wasted with WWE wrestling. People complain about the flagship shows, but maybe they should be watching these B shows, because WWE is putting on a showcase of talent. Here’s my thoughts on 5/3/2016 edition of WWE Main Event, and I’ll have a review of Superstars coming up soon.

Titus Oneil defeated Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow had a match on main event, and you know what? No dirt sheet mentioned this, or the fact that he was going to get fired, so people are idiots. If you pay attention to the commentary by The King, you’ll hear about how terrible Sandow is, but of course he is the heel announcer. This match would prove to be Damien Sandow’s last match with WWE, and you know what? The crowd wasn’t exactly going crazy for what he was doing in the ring. That being said, goodbye Sandow. Sandow lost after getting hit with Clash of the Titus, a sit out power bomb and pin combination. This was the end of Sandow, and well, you could tell. The crowd was dead for most of the match, so that’s the end of that.

Quick EDIT! DAMIEN SANDOW HAD ANOTHER MATCH, IT WAS ON SUPERSTARS! REVIEW PENDING

Apollo Crews defeated Victor of The Ascension

By the time this match occurred, I realized why people don’t really watch WWE Main Event. This is a side show of Raw, to be honest. Oh well, such is life, right? I didn’t expect much from this, but Apollo Crews is quite good, and again, he’s undefeated, and he is tearing through wrestlers. He had a little trouble here, but nothing too difficult. Another shorter match than I expected, but Apollo doesn’t need a ton of time to get through his move set.

Baron Corbin defeated Sin Cara

Not a bad match, but of course, you knew exactly what was going on. Corbin defeated Sin Cara and that was the end of days…wow what a pun! Corbin is growing on me, and Sin Cara should go back to lucha in Mexico, where they will appreciate him more. He’s lost here.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Stardust

Now this wasn’t half bad. Ziggler and Stardust put on a showcase of fast paced wrestling, and reversals. I’m surprised that this wasn’t on Raw. Stardust would end up losing after a superkick knocked him senseless. This was really fun to watch, and it’s a testament to the two’s work ethic. Too bad no one saw it.

WWE Smackdown 4/28/2016 Results and Review The Last Stop Before Payback

Aj Styles Is Part of The Bullet Club
The last stop before Payback was paved with matches on Smackdown, and an opening that had none other than Roman Reigns. As soon as his music hit, the crowd went into a lot of boos, but perhaps they were saying Boo-urns? Boo-Urns?

Anyways, this night on Smackdown started with a Roman Reigns promo that was interrupted by The Miz, and for his troubles? A punch in the mouth and a challenge. Roman Reigns left standing tall, as it were, and Smackdown starts fast, and goes into overdrive before Payback this Sunday.

WWE Smackdown 4/28/2016 Results and Review

Sami Zayn, Kalisto, and Cesaro defeated The League of Nations via countout

This match wasn’t half bad. There were some quick tags here and there, and some nice offense on both sides. The League of Nations took on a lot of work load, punishing the smaller competitors. The best part here was the disintegration of the League of Nations. Everyone got into a shoving match, and Del Rio left first, then Rusev left, allowing for Sheamus to take on 3 other competitors! Watch for Cesaro running across the floor and nearly knocking Sheamus’s head off with a European upper cut. Holy crap! It nearly took out the camera guy as well! Sheamus couldn’t take on the 3, and eventually was counted out, and that was that. The end of the League of Nations.

Baron Corbin defeated Damien Sandow

It was nice to see Sandow getting a payday, but it was all for not, as he got completely buried by Corbin. He barely got any offense, Corbin delivered his moves, beat down Sandown and hit End of Days. Sandow still gets a pay check, but man, what a waste of talent WWE, what a waste.

The Ambrose Asylum Segment with Natalya and Charlotte

Not a great segment. Ambrose is ok, but I don’t understand why he’s a lunatic? He doesn’t really form that notion of insane like Brian Pillman or any other insane guys. Even Norman Smiley did a better insane gimmick when he was screaming Norman Smiley. Natalya and Charlotte went at it verbally, and I didn’t care. Perhaps I was just tired. I stayed up late last night, watching “How To Get Away With Murder”. I didn’t pick up the Ric Flair, “kill yourself” line which many people were talking about on Twitter, but hey, that’s what happens in post, right?

Enzo and Cass defeated The Social Outcasts (Jobbers)

This match was exactly what you’d expect before a pay per view event. Enzo and Cass did all the work, running around going through the motions of their duo’s offense. Curtis Axle showed up to fight, and that was interesting, but I couldn’t resist calling him Michael McGullicutty. The Vaudevillains showed up, of course to watch, and The New Day were on commentary. This match was entertaining, no doubt, and the commentary was funny too, but overall, it was obvious what this match was for and what would occur. That’s not to say it was bad, it was fast paced, lots of great action, and really showcased the Enzo and Cass duality. I liked it. Good stuff, just not that important overall. The Social Jobbers are still just that, jobbers.

Apollo Crews defeated Stardust

Another match from Raw on Smackdown, and you know how this one went. Stardust is reaching the limit of his gimmick if you ask me. This match showcased Crews as a stellar athlete, and dominant newcomer. He wins easily.

Roman Reigns defeated The Miz

This was a champion versus champion match, and it wasn’t half bad. Roman Reigns isn’t a terrible wrestlers, and The Miz really hung in there with the champion. The match was a good main event for Smackdown, and Aj Styles at ringside was great. This one really got my attention, with lots of back and forth, high flying, and fast paced mat wrestling. Reigns’ showing off his power was good, and this thing really boiled down at the end.

After the match the Bullet Club showed up as well as the Usos. The question was whether or not Aj Styles was in cahoots with the Bullet Club, and well, we found out! On to Payback! Predictions coming, and a new column is coming also Mondays, here at sirjorge’s wwe blog.

Overall Rating: 8 out of 10 for good wrestling, and less talking.

WWE Monday Night Raw 12/7/2015 Results and Review Tater Tots Tater Tots Tater Tots

Source WWE.com
This edition of Monday Night Raw started with the same old talking segment up front. From there, a match was set up for a huge tag team elimination match. I called for a Roman Reigns pinning the champion segment, but hey, I suspended disbelief for a moment. From there we get 90 minutes of pure action from WWE Raw on Hulu, since I don’t have cable.

Roman Reigns and The Usos defeated The League of Nations, and Team Extreme in an elimination tag team match

This match was good. I liked the introduction of Rhyno for Team 3D, and I liked Roman Reigns winning this match up. It was good, and Roman got his nose busted open the hard way. Overall, a good solid outing, with fast paced moves, and good back and forth, even if it was a bit short.

Lucha Dragons defeated The New Day

Of course all the champions will lose right? They’ll retain on Sunday, I’m sure. As for this match, it was phoned in. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t terrible, it just was. I liked the athleticism that was put forth, but overall, not exactly a grand opus of wrestling talent or something.

Kevin Owens defeated Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler gets buried here. It’s a burial. Owens needs to look strong for the weekend, and well, he wins this one. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, but Owens had no real threat from Ziggler here. At least not in my view. Ziggler is a far cry from where he was 10 years ago, that’s for sure.

Jack Swagger defeated Stardust

Quick match, nothing big here. The bigger story was that Alberto Del Rio came out to beat up Swagger. Then he quit aligning himself with Zeb.

Brown Snowman defeated Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer got choked out and that was that. I’m hoping that Dreamer can muster up enough to get the win on Sunday, otherwise, this is only going to put the Wyatt’s over. But that’s not a bad thing either. We’ll get extreme this weekend, no doubt.

Roman Reigns cut a promo, and it wasn’t terrible. But the big thing here was Roman and Sheamus getting into a hardcore brawl that went across the stage, and then back to the ring where Roman Reigns speared Sheamus through a table! YES! Now that's hype.

WWE Main Event 12/1/2015 Results A Lot of Wrestling

WWE Main Event Logo - Source WWE.com
Since the WWE didn't really put up a lot of information on their website about this show, I am not going to review it in full. I can say this much, it was a fun show with a lot of wrestling into a small amount of time. If you're following along, here are the results for WWE Main Event from 12/1/2015.

The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler
Sasha Banks defeated Alicia Fox
Titus Oneil defeated Stardust
Ryback defeated Bo Dallas

The best match was Titus Oneil mopping the floor with Stardust. Great overall showing from those two. Oh, The Miz wrestled a fine match too. Ziggler lost, but The Miz was impressive. He's got some moves, I admit it.

Elimination Chamber 2015 The Kevin Owens Era Is Here

SRC WWE
Well, I’m finally getting to carve out a few moments to talk about Elimination Chamber 2015. As you already know, I do not put on a FULL review of things any more. I just talk about things that were good, thoughts of my own and what not. As such, here are the Elimination Chamber 2015 Results:

Stardust defeated Zack Ryder
The New Day defeated The Lucha Dragons, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, The Prime Time Players, The Ascension, Los Matadores in an Elimination Chamber match
Nikki Bella defeated Paige and Naomi in a Triple Threat WWE Divas title match
Kevin Owens defeated John Cena
Neville defeated Bo Dallas
Ryback defeated R-Truth, Sheamus, King Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, and Mark Henry
Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins by DQ in the WWE Championship Match

The Tag Teams Bring Out Their A Game

The biggest news of note for me was the tag team elimination chamber match up. It took up a huge chunk of the show, and it was a great one. It had a lot of high spots, lots of good wrestling, and some great overall crowd reaction from Texas. I thought for sure Cesaro and Kidd had this. Then I switched to The Prime Time Players getting the win. The New Day got the victory, but wow, what a roundabout of talent in this match. Cesaro is a beast, an absolute wrestling hero. The diagonal drop kick into the ropes was stellar. Kidd is underrated. That team is just incredible. This was great.

SRC WWE
Kevin Owens Beats John Cena CLEAN

You are not reading this wrong. Kevin Owens beat John Cena clean. No gimmicks, no chair shots, no illegal weapons, nothing. Owens came in and fought John Cena for 20 minutes and both guys put on a 5 star showing in my view. The only little thing that I didn’t like was that Owens let Cena into the ring without attacking. I would have much rather pushed Owens to attack as soon as Cena slid into the ring like a true heel. Remember, he “hates” Cena, so allowing him to have any momentum or freedom is not a good thing. Other than that minor issue, this match was great. Lots of great spots, Owens holding his own, and Cena getting surprised with a CLEAN finish. It is the biggest thing to come out Elimination Chamber this year.

The Boredom Movement of The Intercontinental Title

The IC Title should get more love. However, this was not a great match. Whether it’s a lack of chemistry, or it’s a lack of motivation, or just being worn out after seeing the best out of Cena and Owens, this just fell flat to me. Ryback winning? Mark Henry being in the match? Ugh, leave me out of this mess.

Dean Ambrose Bigger Than Roman Reigns

I can’t wait to see Roman Reigns turn heel. He is setting himself up for that Heel turn and the crowd is going to eat him alive, which is exactly what WWE needs right now. They need a monster heel and Roman Reigns is going to be that, if they turn him. Speaking of heels, Rollins played a good foil here, and losing the title for a hiccup was great too. However, the DQ finish had to happen and it has set up a ladder match for Money In The Bank on the 14, of June.

The rest of the show didn’t really get my attention as much. Neville and Dallas should’ve been better received. Stardust and Ryder had an ok match, and the divas were given 6 minutes to work. Overall, not a great show, but the Owens versus Cena match stole the show.

Do me a favor, check out other Elimination Chamber Blu Ray discs, merch and more via AMAZON online here. Go there, save money, and help me get cable again.

WWE Raw From San Jose Explodes With Fan Chants and Lazers - 3/30/2015

WWE shows the night after Wrestlemania are usually really good. Every time they put on a show after the big event, they have a lot of great elements to sell you on. This was no doubt a great night, and I liked the Monday Night Raw on HULU.

Here are the results that you are going to see thrown around.

Results:

Intercontinental Championship Match: Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler

The Lucha Dragons and The New Day defeated Tyson Kidd, Cesaro and The Ascension

Damien Mizdow defeated Stardust

Adrian Neville defeated Curtis Axel

United States Championship: John Cena defeated Dean Ambrose

AJ Lee, Paige and Naomi defeated The Bella Twins and Natalya

Rusev defeated Goldust

Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Ryback defeated Seth Rollins, Big Show and Kane

Source WWE.com

HULU didn't have all the matches listed above. So with that in mind, I can only speak on what I remember seeing.

Brock Lesnar beats the announce team.

I loved Lesnar beating everyone down. I also liked Michael Cole getting F5 out of his shoes! This was a great moment. Byron Saxton is not ready for the prime time. I'm glad the King was there.

Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler

This is a tight match. Tight and to the point, Bryan wins big here. I liked the way that the WWE is using the Intercontinental championship. It's going to be great.

John Cena defeated Dean Ambrose

This is a great thing. I hope they do this every week. John Cena plowing through wrestlers, only to get thrown down by someone up and coming? I mean John Cena debuted this way, why not?

Rusev defeated Goldust

I don't care about Rusev anymore.

Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Ryback defeated Seth Rollins, Big Show and Kane

This was an ok match. It was fast paced, and Rollins was getting pwned by the crowd. Great crowd, they stole the show.

Overall Raw was good. It wasn't great, but it had some great moments. I don't have much to say about it, it was entertaining. It was nice to see, but it didn't have the power of Mania. Maybe they will build to it. Lesnar destroying was the best part.
