WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/23/10 Results

John Morrison defeated Jack Swagger
Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy & R Truth
Mike Knox vs JTG
Mickie James and Beth Phoenix defeated Michelle McCool & Layla
Luke Gallows & CM Punk defeated Kane & Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/23/10 Review

Jack Swagger came out to a chorus of boo’s from the audience and looked confidence as the champion. He then cut a promo, and got booed more. I was already bored and it had only been like 2 minutes.

John Morrison defeated Jack Swagger

This match was interesting to note, it’s nice to see Morrison wrestling against Swagger. Swagger wasn’t as dominating as he was in other matches, but he was managing to take a lot of offense from Morrison. Morrison made some key mistakes, and the champion captilized several times. Swagger gets better and better during in ring, too bad he can’t talk that well. The ending made no sense, no sense at all. Jack Swagger was beaten by John Morrison, cleanly! Despite Swagger hitting his powerbomb, and despite dominating a good portion towards the end, Morrison managed to hit starship pain and win! I like the ending, it just doesn’t make sense to have such a weak champion, he’s always losing! What the hell kind of booking is this?

Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy & R Truth

When’s the last time Drew McIntyre defended his title?

How come fat-ass Matt Hard isn’t fired? They fired fat Mickie James…nevermind.

This match wasn’t all that great, and while it did have some moments, the match seemed to be going downhill when Ziggler and McIntyre kept beating up Hardy and pushing his head into the steel steps. I thought the match was going to be done, but nope, Hardy kept pushing forward and kept getting beaten.

The Referee ended the match when Matt Hardy couldn’t continue, giving the match to the heels. This was lame, Hardy is fat and sucks, he needs to get fired now.

Chris Jericho cut a promo inside of a steel cage, and it wasn’t half bad. Edge came out to interrupt, and wanted to fight Jericho, but not tonight, cause he claimed he was banged up….then he shook it off and got into the ring to reveal that he was quite alright.

Wade Barrett and Chris Jericho took turns beating up Edge and while Edge fought back, the numbers game didn’t favor him, at least early on. Edge then set up a spear and in what was a great moment of heel fury, Jericho locked Barrett inside the cage with EDGE! Edge went to town on Barrett and the crowd was all over it. Edge, despite his face turn, still can’t grab my attention. Jericho, is amazing, and works so well in his role, wow, too bad Jericho can’t carry Edge. Even Barrett is starting to make me interested in his character thanks to Jericho’s tutelage.

Mike Knox vs JTG

I’m not sure what happened in this match, because I went to get some coffee, and when I returned Shad was whipping the living daylights out of JTG with a leather belt. It was intense, but I didn’t care…these two are better off being tag teams not singles competitors.

Mickie James and Beth defeated Phoenix Michelle McCool & Layla

Mickie James’s last match was a tag match and while she appeared to have lost a little weight, she still got fired! Too bad they can’t fire fat ass Matt Hardy. Anyways, the match was ok at best, and actually had a good amount of wrestling. This might have been the longest divas match I’ve seen in WWE since the last time I said that statement.

Keeping that in mind, Layla and McCool worked on Beth Phoenix’s leg and it was quite good to see. Mickie James had some good offense, but she lost a few steps and was actually kind of sloppy if you watch closely. Despite a flurry of offense from James, Layla still managed to win this match up.

Post match Michelle McCool and Layla fought off Beth Phoenix and tried to injure her.

Luke Gallows & CM Punk defeated Kane & Rey Mysterio

This match had some great moments, and it proved that all four guys can work well in tag team matches. However, it seemed to me that the highlight of this match was Cm Punk. Punk just kept moving forward and hitting his spots with such precision, that it’s no wonder that many podcasts are calling him the best Heel in the business right now. I liked the match for what it was, I don’t think Kane and Gallows deserved to be in here, as they are not exactly in major story lines on their own. Mysterio went for the huricanrana but wasn’t succseful and Punk was able to capitilze and get the roll up pin.

Post match, Punk attacked Mysterio only to get roped into a barbers chair outside, and Mysterio was going to shave his head but Serena saved punk…for now.

Alright, this night of Smackdown wasn’t half bad, it wasn’t that great either. I am intrigued to see Extreme Rulez, but I have no money and won’t see it. If you see it, let me know, or don’t…who cares.

Smackdown does have the most wrestling of all wwe shows, which is still a great reason to tune in Friday nights.

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/27/09 Results and Review Orton Era Round 2

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/27/09 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated The Brian Kendrick
Santina, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella, Mickie James defeated Jillian, Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Eva Mendez
Matt Hardy defeated Goldust
MVP vs. Randy Orton ended in a No Contest when Shane McMahon interfered
The Colons defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jamie Noble
Batista defeated The Big Show by countout

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/27/09 Review

The show opened up with Randy Orton and Priceless coming down to the ring, with the title belt as he is the new WWE Champion. Orton got on the mic and put everyone on notice, and right in the middle of his speech, MVP came out to interrupt him! That’s right MVP! MVP just got a huge push in my book as he got on the mic and was confident and overall great, the crowd was behind him, and this was a great start to the first Raw after Backlash. MVP will wrestle Orton, and this was new to me. MVP getting a push? Wow.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Brian Kendrick

The Brian Kendrick and Kofi Kingston was a stellar match up. These two were putting on a good fast paced show. There was a little bit of everything in this math, a little bit of mat wrestling, some great high flying action, and awesome counters from Kofi, as we finally got a taste of what the lighter guys could do in the ring. Kofi Kingston gets the win, even though Kendrick had some great offense in this match, sadly, The Kendrick is knocked down a peg, on his Raw debut.

Santina, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella, Mickie James defeated Jillian, Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Eva Mendez

There was a little bit of comedy during this match with Hornswoggle and the Bella twins playing up comedy. Santina rolled up Jillian for the win, and this match was just a throwaway filler match, with no worthwhile action at all. It must be nice to be a wwe diva right now, you don’t have to wrestle, just stand at ringside as Santina wins with ease.

Matt Hardy defeated Goldust

At this point, I was tired. I get up at 4:30 am and watch Raw to review it, and was out of it. However, out came Goldust! That’s right, GOLDUST! I marked out huge for Goldust as he was set to wrestle Matt Hardy! Matt Hardy was out there with a cast on and he knocked out Goldust for the win. This match was terrible. It was a loss for Goldust, just a jobber match with Goldust in it. Lame.

MVP vs. Randy Orton ended in a No Contest when Shane McMahon interfered

MVP had this match “Ballin”! It was great to see the Champion getting worked over as MVP was getting some great shots in. Right before a commercial break MVP hit a huge kick, knocking Orton outside of the ring and it looked bad. Orton had MVP down and roughly nearly out after the break. So the tides turn, Orton was then applying rest holds for the continuation. I do believe this is the first time a secondary champion was given credit for his position. MVP made such a great move in this match up, nearly defeating the champion at several moments. Seriously, he had Orton down and nearly put away. He even hit the “Ballin” elbow, only for a 2 count; if nothing else this match was just a great entertaining piece of wrestling. Orton capitalized on some mistakes made by MVP, but right when things were picking up well, out came Shane McMahon from the crowd with a KENDO STICK! McMahon attacked Orton until the stick broke, then climbed to the top rope and hit a huge elbow drop, the rest of legacy came running down, but were too late.

As for MVP, he was on the outside f the ring, and the match was thrown out. I guess it s a double dq? No contest? I don’t know, the WWE never tells you what’s going on. MVP looked amazing in this match, I hope he gets a title shot and wins down the road, because he has that special extra talent, he has “it”.

The Miz challenged John Cena, and when Cena didn’t show up, declared himself the winner. This segment was lame.

The Colons defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jamie Noble

Usually I’m all about these tag team matches, but I hate how Chavo and Noble, two amazing competitors, just get thrown together for seemingly no apparent reason. I don’t like how this turned out, even though the match wasn’t all that bad overall. The Colon’s didn’t have an easy time winning, but they made the ending look easy, despite the great offense from Guerrero and Noble.

Batista defeated The Big Show

This match was mostly Big Show. Batista got a few shots in, but it was Batista that got the assist from John Cena. John Cena was at the ramp and caused Big Show to get counted out allowing Batista to go to Judgment Day for the big title match against Randy Orton.

After the dust settled this night of wrestling wasn’t all that good. They are setting up things for the future, and it is nice to see Cena and Triple H not in the spotlight, for a change. We’ll see how the WWE takes this forward.

ECW 10/28/08 Review and Results

I had no hopes for ECW this week, I just didn’t expect a whole lot, and plus…Teddy Long started the show with a laughable costume. So I wasn’t keen on seeing good stuff tonight.

Mark Henry, Bam Neely, and Chavo Guerrero defeated Evan Bourne, Finlay, and Matt Hardy

I know I haven’t been on Chavo’s side in a long time, but I think that with the right storyline we can see a turn in Chavo. In fact, we could see a positive crowd towards him. However, this is not the future and people hate Chavo out there. The match was good, each man got in his moves and once again Evan Bourne was going to town, however he looked to have injured his ankle as he threw himself out of the ring. Evan Bourne, after that real looking injury was getting manhandled by Neely and Mark Henry after a quick commercial break. The bad guys were looking great in this time, working as a team, quick tags and putting on a good show. I liked this match, it wasn’t as bad as I expected, however you’ve probably already seen this before, and while I appreciate the effort, it just seems recycled to me. The best parts of this match involved Evan Bourne and Matt Hardy, with both really getting the better of their opponents at different parts of the match. Hornswoggle doing a suicide dive into Tony Atlas was also hilarious. The end of the match happened when the ring was cleared out and Chavo dove off the top rope with a frog splash onto Matt Hardy, for the clean victory. Chavo might be getting a shot at the title sooner than later. I’d like to see him as a strong champion, but I doubt it will happen.

They are really showcasing all things John Cena! Seriously, this is hilarious. I hope he gets a heel turn.

Jack Swagger defeated Tommy Dreamer

Honestly, I don’t know why Tommy Dreamer still has a job. No offense to the man himself, but come on, he’s the only real ECW original still on the show and he hasn’t shown any of that old time Ecw flare. In fact, he doesn’t show the heart he did back then, as he now wrestles the safer wwe style. This match wasn’t all that great, Swagger looked good, but he lacks a little something, I’m not sure what. Tommy Dreamer did get in a lot of offense, trying to teach Swagger a lesson, but the much bigger wrestler was just too much for Dreamer. This match was laughable at best. So laughable that Dreamer even missed his running bulldog, screwing it up, Swagger still sold it. There was an impressive northern lights suplex counter by Swagger, which was the best thing I’ve seen in wrestling in a long time. In fact, Swagger’s counters make him look amazing compared to dreamer. Swagger wins clean, as he does some random gut wrench looking slam. Dreamer loses again.

The Dirt Sheet

Miz and Morrison took to the ring to do their online show live, the Dirt Sheet Hit the air. This was hilarious and disrespectful indeed. I liked it, but I would have much rather had more wrestling than just two matches.
