WWE Monday Night Raw 1/30/12 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz
WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix defeated Eve (Divas Championship Match)

WWE Monday NIght Raw 1/30/12 Review and What not

Alright, I finally got my shot at watching wrestling, and it's been a long time coming. I'm not going to write longwinded reviews like I used to, as I do not have enough time to get that all working and done. Consider this to be a new beginning on this wrestling site. I will need a news guy, so if you're reading this and want to send me news to post (once daily) email me at sir jorge at gmail dot com, the position doesn't pay anything (i don't make any money yet) but it would be nice to have posts daily.

Standout moments on Raw were few and far between, there were 3 reasons why you want to go back and watch this crap again.

1. Daniel Bryan vs. Cm Punk - Champion versus champion on raw? This was a great match that was booked to make both men strong. The match was a string of moves that were not at all forced, and just seemed natural. These two really are the best at what they are doing, and the crowd seemed to enjoy the show. The ending was perfect, protecting both champions and setting up what will be a good Wrestlemania moment.

2. Undertaker - I still say the streak is over rated, but amidst Triple H firing someone, out came the Undertaker. The Undertaker essentially set up a rematch with Triple H for Wrestlemania, and you know what? I don't care, you didn't care, but we will all mark out anyway as the dead man retires after 20-0 at the big event. I would've much rather seen someone else, like even Sting go out there and take on the dead man.

3. Kane, Cena, and Eve - Eve is hot, have you seen her eyes? I love her. Beth Phoenix made it easy to beat her, but out came Kane followed by Cena and it was awesome. I'm starting to go with whatever WWE sends out, simply because there is no #2 company that can compete.

So there you have it, 3 things that makes you want to check out Raw if you missed it. I enjoyed the show, although truncated in some ways. You can see more of the show, pictures, and more via wwe online.

The WWE is promoting their new Tornado Takedown Ring and you can buy yours here. It helps me out, it helps you out, so click here to purchase the ring and have fun today!

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/31/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/31/10 Results

Drew McIntyre defeated Trent Barretta
The Big Show defeated Cody Rhodes via disqualification
Edge & Rey Mysterio defeated Kane & Alberto Del Rio
Beth Phoenix & Natalya defeated Laycool
Dolph Ziggler defeated Jack Swagger & Kofi Kingston in a triple threat match

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/31/10 Review

HAPPY NEW YEAR for all of you out there reading this blog. All 3 of you! I still have no job, still have no internet access the house, and am writing you this from the local public library. I'm hoping that changes this year. If you'd like to help out, visit amazon.com here, and spend some money, every little bit helps.

The night opened up with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero getting booed out of the building. Vickie said she had Vertigo and deserved compassion. After some talking out came Kofi Kingston and he got on the mic and said that Vickie's condition was BS.

I loved this segment. Kofi's not half bad on the mic, especially when he's just talking straight up. He doesn't need that Jamaican accent.

Jack Swagger has a new shirt and it is amazing. The new JACK SWAGGER SHIRT! WOOT! I'd buy it if I had a few dollars. Jack Swagger came out to the ring and cut a promo as well about the ladder match at TLC and how stupid it ended.

The three started to fight and out came Teddy Long and set up a triple threat Intercontinental Championship match for later.

The Big Show defeated Cody Rhodes via disqualification

Big Show came out to some cheers and he too had a new shirt, which looked good. Show seems a big lighter than usual, and he took it to COdy Rhodes. Rhodes really got beat down in this match, and it was not as "fake" as people seem to think. Dashing Cody Rhodes really got beat up, and the crowd was all over this match, especially when The Big Show put his BUTT in Cody Rhodes face. Dashing Cody Rhodes eventually walked away and got counted out as Big Show was just "too" much for the guy.

Backstage there was a party and it was ok. Some little moments and funny segments. Cole poked fun at Kaval for losing to Drew McIntyre.

There is NO heat on Drew. In fact, if you check out Botchamania's latest episode there's footage from the arenas, and NO ONE CARES! This guy sucks. I hate him.

Drew McIntyre defeated Trent Barretta

This match was interesting to see, and wasn't half bad. There was some nice back and forth action, but it took a nasty looking turn towards the end. Drew managed to get out of the way as Trent flew over the top rope and landed completely on his back and neck. He was going for a Suicide Dive over the top rope and just knocked himself out. The match did had some nice brutality from Drew, and it was interesting to see. Barretta lands funny and it looked like he legit knocked himself out.

After the match he got the Future Shock DDT and it was over. I liked it. Yes, I liked it, even though I hate Drew.

Edge's music hits and I mark out huge! His music is just so awesome, and him as champion isn't half bad, I just hope they find a good opponent for him, because if they rehash Rey Mysterio or Kane, I'll be very sad.

Edge & Rey Mysterio defeated Kane & Alberto Del Rio

This match wasn't that great. It had some nice spots, good back and forth fast paced offense from all the guys, but they barely broke a sweat. Mysterio was isolated for a good part of the match, but Edge would eventually get the hot tag, and get Kane knocked out of the match, and hit Del Rio with a sick Spear to win the match. The 619 went straight into the Spear and that was awesome, so the good guys win again, and everyone goes home happy. It was a good sequence, I liked it, and the crowd was definitely into it, which was nice.

Beth Phoenix & Natalya defeated Laycool

Not a terrible match and interesting to see what real women's wrestlers can do. The match had some nice offense, with a good amount of time given. Laycool lost again, and that was that. This is going to get stale though.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Jack Swagger & Kofi Kingston in a triple threat match

I like the idea of the IC Title being given main even status. It's nice to see how things are going well in this division, and watching Kofi and Swagger's interaction with Dolph Ziggler was great. The offense was fast at some points and slowed down towards the end with some nice back and forth actions. Swagger was completely knocked out by Kofi with a nice ddt. Vickie kept getting involved to stop pins. Dolph Ziggler was able to win after trouble in paradise took out swagger and that was that. Ziggler rolled up Kofi and retained the title, which was interesting to see.

Dolph's continual roll up wins was great, but he put on a show with the other two guys in this match. I liked the match and am glad that the WWE is doing a lot more wrestling with the secondary titles. Ziggler and Daniel Bryan are great up and coming stars and I hope they turn into world champion s someday. A good overall match a good overall night of wrestling with nothing too stupid.

Next week Rey Mysterio will face Alberto Del Rio in a 2 out of 3 falls match up on Smackdown. They'll also have the World Title match with Kane and Edge in a last man standing match...I'm already bored.

WWE Superstars 12/23/10 Results and Review

WWE Superstars 12/23/10 Results

DH Smith defeated Zack Ryder
The USO Brothers defeated Yoshi Tatsu & Darren Young
Kelly Kelly & Beth Phoenix defeated Laycool

WWE Superstars 12/23/10 Review

This has been one hell of a week for wrestling fans, and today we'll have 2 reviews one of this show and one of Impact, followed by a Christmas edition of this week in Wrestling. I was excited to have something to do as everyone else was working or asleep on Christmas eve. I for one haven't had a job in 16 months, and don't have a Christmas tree or presents, nevermind.

Zack Ryder came out to a chorus of boos and it was hilarious. Scott Stanford and Jerry Lawler were on commentary, and aren't half bad.

DH Smith defeated Zack Ryder

DH Smith sucks. I'm just going to say it here, he has NO major charisma at this point and neither does Tyson Kidd. He might be a legacy but he's no British Bulldog. This match could've been a four star classic, but only because Zack Ryder has an over the top character. This was a very solid match up, evenly matched and not half bad. However, it wasn't until the end did I get impressed. DH Smith hit a nice Saito Suplex to put DH Smith out, and it was picture perfect. Zack needs to be on the main roster, his character draws so much heat, oh well. DH Smith wins, I think he sucks, this match wasn't terrible.

Is anyone watching NXT? I'm not.

The USO Brothers defeated Yoshi Tatsu & Darren Young

This was probably one of the worst tag team matches I've seen in a long time. The USOS worked very well as a team and Young & Tatsu just weren't very good in ring. The match wasn't too long and it was just a job match. I still think Darren Young's "I'm the missing link" was awesome, but it's been a long time since then.

Kelly Kelly & Beth Phoenix defeated Laycool

The divas main evented this night of wrestling and it wasn't too terrible. I didn't think it was as good as this past weekend's match, but the women put on a good show for the live crowd and us at home. There was a lot of back and forth action, and it wasn't until Beth Phoenix took control towards the end where this match really got good. Phoenix is so good, and she was able to get a lot of good offense in before Michelle McCool stormed the ring to save Layla. Layla got hit by McCool on accident and Phoenix hit her GlamSlam and won the match up for her team. Laycool was put to rest in this one, and it was very impressive. The divas can really put on a good wrestling show when they are given time. Even the crowd agreed.

This night of Superstars wasn't terrible, it was a good overall match up and something that I enjoyed. Hopefully you liked it if you saw it, and if not, check it out sometime, there's actually good wrestling on the show from time to time.

Whether you hate John Cena or Love John Cena, you're going to probably want to check out The John Cena Experience 3 DISC DVD set or the BLU RAY High Definition John Cena Experience. The set contains 16 matches from all over Cena's career but most importantly goes behind the scenes of his life to show you just how much effort he puts into working for the WWE. The commercial was quite interesting and the set looks like something you'd want to pick up. If you're interested in the John Cena Experience click here to purchase it for cheap, it helps this blog continue and hopefully gets me an internet connection at home, because right now I'm using the old library in my town.

WWE Smackdown 12/21/10 Results and Review

WWE Smackdown 12/21/10 Results

Randy Orton defeated The Miz via DQ
Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero
Drew McIntyre defeated Kaval
Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston defeated Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger
John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero

WWE Smackdown 12/21/10 Review

A special Tuesday night smackdown would be the start of something good, until I heard the worst Greenday track ever recorded. I hate the post "Warning" greenday sound, they went soft and sold out. I liked when they were punk...now they are? I don't know, pop.

Randy Orton defeated The Miz via DQ

The first match was The Miz facing off against Randy Orton in rematch from the ppv, although this was not a tables match. The Miz was running from Orton, and Orton was hitting Miz with heavy shots, and this thing looked like a burial job, if it weren't for The Miz constantly running out of the ring, scared.

Once Orton made a slight judgment error, The Miz started to mount a nice comeback with some rights and lefts, a suplex, some counters to Orton's signature turns, but Orton kept at it, and would eventually get the upper hand yet again. I'm not a big Orton fan, but he works really well with the Miz, and the two have a good timing, that really gets the crowd involved in their matches. I liked the pace the of this one. Alex Riley would help Miz regain the upper hand again, and this made Orton look all the more vulnerable, and Miz smarter for having Alex Riley helping him out.

Stryker stated that Orton was favoring his shoulder and neck, and the two other commentators disagreed, and after the men argued, Orton did exactly what Stryker said, he took a back drop and he favored his neck and looked injured. He would come back though, and hit a nice series of movies then his inside out DDT and was ready to deliver the RKO but Alex Riley interfered, only stopping the Viper the RKO was hit, giving Randy Orton the win via Disqualification after Riley ran in yet again! Yep. Riley saves the Miz.

Post match Randy Orton was all set to hit the punt but instead delivered a HUGE RKO to Alex Riley as Miz crawled his way out of the ring. Orton looked strong for once, and I like him 100 times better in this role than I did as the champion. This match was a quality encounter, even if there was a DQ finish, and I can only say that Miz has shocked me yet again, he's not a one trick pony, he has a lot of gusto and he proved it once again with a great match up here.

The Big Show once again was giving out cool stuff backstage as Santa Claus. Hornswoggle was also ther to give out presents. Eve joined them, and it looked interesting enough, but I knew what was coming. Dashing Cody Rhodes ran down and messed up the ring, beat up Hornswoggle, and made The Big Show very upset.

Edge cut a promo, and then Kane came out...I don't remember much of this encounter cause I was getting some more coffee.

Drew McIntyre defeated Kaval

Kaval was completely squashed here. Drew kicked him in the face which looked really sick, then hit the Future Shock DDT and this thing was over. Drew wins, Kaval gets buried, he needs to go back to TNA.

Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero

Despite Chavo's continual play up of his "Latino" heat gimmick, or rather the late Great Eddie Guerrero's gimmick, he just can't manage to get away from jobber status. Santino got a beating throughout this match but was able to deliver The Cobra to pin Chavo yet again. Chavo needs to just quit and join TNA or something, he hasn't been over in such a long time.

Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston defeated Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger

This match was a good fast paced match with lots of room to breathe. I'm surprised Del Rio was in this match as much as he was, while Swagger took most of the bumps here. Kofi and Rey are a good fast paced team and never let up on the offense. They hit all your crowd pleasing spots, and then with the 619 and Trouble In Paradise knocking out the bad guys, Kofi and Rey won. The two did a nice double High Cross body off the top rope, and boy, the 12 year old inside of me was going completely nuts for this match. This match was nothing more than a crowd pleaser, and a quality match up after the squash match before it.

John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero

John Cena started this match up fast and I liked it. John was completely in control and Ziggler was bumping great like he was on Raw. Eventually Ziggler was able to capitalize on a Cena quick overlook and would work him over, and at one point Vickie Guerrero got in and got a couple of shots in against Cena. This once again is a testament to how good Ziggler is in ring, as he is one of the most competant workers that the WWE has. I can see Ziggler getting a world title run or at least getting over enough to get title shots because he was looking great against a much more experienced John Cena.

One of the best points of the match was a nice reversal on an Irish Whip from Ziggler in which he sent Cena into the ropes and Cena went for the shoulder block only to miss by a split second when Ziggler dropped and let Cena roll through the ropes onto the floor. It was such a well timed spot that I was marking out alongside the San Antonio crowd. I was going nuts, becuase this match, once again, was one of the best matches I've seen all year, and that's saying a lot.

Vickie Guerrero tagged in towards the end of the match and completely fell on her face as she tried to deliver a splash on Cena. Ziggler would eventually get back in and started to lose his cool as Cena was hitting his five moves of doom, and despite my hatred for him all year, I was marking out huge for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle! Ziggler countered the Attitude Adjustment and hit the Leg Drop (I forget what it's called) but wasn't able to win the match. Cena hit the STF and Vickie came in to argue with Cena and break up the submission attempt. CENA then kissed Vickie Guerrero and then hit the Attitude Adjustment on Ziggler and pinned the Intercontinental Champion two nights in a row!

This match was incredible fun and the kiss on Cena was awesome to see. Better yet was the attempt at an Attitude Adjustment on Vickie Guerrero! He was stopped by none other than CM PUNK! That's right CM PUNK jumped in with a chair and full wrestling gear and knocked out John Cena with a CHAIR!

A CM PUNK JOHN CENA FEUD?!?!?! I'm all in folks, I'm all freakin in if this is how they are going to build to that feud. Oh man, I love it. Smackdown, for once, was a great show, no filler all killer, I liked it a lot, and you should've liked it too. What a great couple of nights of wrestling.

Beth Phoenix & Layla defeated Laycool in a Tag Team Tables Match
Santino & Kozlov defeated Nexus (Justin gabriel & Heath Slater) via DQ
John Morrison defeated Sheamus in a Ladder Match
The Miz defeated Randy Orton in a wwe title tables match
Edge defeated Kane and Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio in a fatal four way tlc match
John Cena defeated Wade Barrett in a chairs match

WWE TLC 2010 PPV Review

Alright, the last WWE PPV of 2010, and anything could happen, so I was excited to see how the matches were going to go, and here is my review plus other random commentary by me.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger in a triple threat Ladder Match

The match started hot, with a lot of focus being placed on Dolph Ziggler and once he was nuetralized, Swagger and Kofi fought each other but Ziggler came back into the ring and really put the boots to Kofi. At one point Swagger looked to hurt his right wrist, but it seemed to be ok. Ziggler and Kofi both were taking some sick bumps, and I'm surprised Ziggler wasn't busted open immediately because he took a shot to the face that just looked incredible. Kofi jumped through a ladder at one point, yes, through a ladder for a nice missile drop kick.

Vickie Guerrero got into the ring as all three men were knocked out, and I was marking out huge. Vickie was even getting a huge ovation for what she was doing, and I was aimpressed. Vickie was climbing to the top of the ladder and Kofi Kingston climbed up and signaled a heel turn but nope....VIckie was being tipped over and it looked like she was going to go over the top rope! The crowd went nuts for this, but Swagger came in and Ziggler came in and she wen away running! I was completely impressed with how many bumps the competitors were taking, at one point Swagger threw the ladder at Ziggler full force into his face, it looked sick. Even Kofi was bumping like crazy, and it was just impressive. I thought someone was going to legit get hurt, it was that bad, like a car crash, all three guys completely killed each other for the opening bout, it was about time, if you ask me.

Ziggler nearly got the belt, as Swagger and Kofi fought with an Ankle Lock hooked, but after Swagger was eliminated for a moment, Kofi and Ziggler fought each other at the top of the ladder and oh man, a sleeper hold was placed on Kofi and it looked like Kingston was done, but he managed to fight out of it, and of course the crowd was going nuts again. As Kofi nearly had the belt. Ziggler flew off the top, Kingston had this thing won, Swagger jumped in and climbed the ladder and Kofi and swagger were each one grabbing the belt and it fell!

ZIGGLER jumped at the belt and grabbed it and won! One of the better triple threat ladder matches I've seen and once again Ziggler retains! One of the best Intercontinental Champions in a long time, Ziggler managed to get this one, and took a serious beating. Seriously, he took a lot of damage and was able to win this one, amazing.

Beth Phoenix & Layla defeated Laycool in a Tag Team Tables Match

The divas were up next, and the two teams put on a decent match. The cameras kept cutting away when the women were close to the tables and were using them as a weapon, which was stupid. I guess the pg thing was tough to work around with so much violence. The tables weren't even a big deal for the most part, as Laycool was actually utilizing a lot of tag team moves to fight off their opponents. For once, I was actually impressed with Laycool. Beth Phoenix and natalya isolated Michelle McCool at one point and the two were about to throw her through a table, but were thwarted. Natalya and Phoenix took some sick bumps too, this is the first divas match that I actually cringed at some points as this was a legit contest of wrestling, which is amazing from the WWE women.

At one point, Michelle McCool kicked Phoenix straight into the face and she looked out cold, it was sick. Natalya eventually got both members of Laycool into a vulnerable position and locked in a double sharpshooter!!!! I KID YOU NOT! I was marking out huge for this. BOth women in a the sharpshooter tapping out like drunk women, it was amazing, I was marking out huge for the divas, for ones marking out huge. Beth Phoenix and Natalya eventually got locked into a numbers game as Laycool kept focusing on one woman, and got the upper hand, but it was Natalya that threw laycool on a table, and she got to the top rope and leaped onto both women in a nice splash and won this match! LAYCOOL went through a table, and you know what, this was DIVAS MATCH of the YEAR, DIVAS MATCH OF THE YEAR! For once, I was impressed with the divas, wow, what a match.

Santino & Kozlov defeated Nexus (Justin gabriel & Heath Slater) via DQ

Nexus lost this one, even though they had this thing going their way for a good part of the match. McGullicutty interfered and caused the dq finish, but this match wasn't half bad. I like Kozlov and Santino as a comedy act, and they are way over with the live crowd.

Post match, Nexus beat the living crap out of the tag team champions, and that was that.

John Morrison defeated Sheamus in a Ladder Match

This match started off slow, but Morrison picked up the pace with his high flying offense. He even at one point did a corkscrew over the top of a ladder off the third rope onto Sheamus, it was insane. I kid you not, that thing looked amazing, and Morrison is proof that you don't need to talk well to wrestle well. Sheamus managed to add some major offense against Morrison and focused on the knee of Morrison. The ladder came into play and once again, I was impressed at how much these two bumped. The psychology of this in ring match was great, Sheamus focusing on Morrison's leg was really good and something that the WWE hasn't been utilizing in matches in a long time.

A drop toe hold landed Sheamus's face into the ladder, and i was hoping and wishing that the WWE would allow blood. A bloody Sheamus would've been amazing here as he took a stiff shot to the face with the Ladd. Morrison nearly knocked him out with a nice kick, but it was short lived, because Sheamus hit the Irish Curse Back Breaker and things weren't looking for Morrison. Morrison threw a ladder at Sheamus's head and I was completely marking out huge, because this thing looked brutal.

Morrison fell on his knee towards the end of this match, and Sheamus and him fought on top of the ladder to get the contract, but the two were just fighting and fighting, and Sheamus kept hanging in there, even though Morrison seemed to be the weaker man in this match. The two guys were completely impressive here, and no matter how close each other got, the other had an answer, which was awesome. This was a great great Ladder Match, far better than the 1998 ladder match between The Rock and Triple H.

Morrison took some nasty spills towards the end of the match. It didn't look like he could pull himself together to win here, and Sheamus couldn't stop the guy from continually comingback for more punishment.

Sheamus was thrown off the top of a ladder with John Morrison through a STEEL LADDER! Morrison jumped off too, but holy crap, holy crap, Sheamus was completely broken in half here, and Morrison was barely walking. Holy crap, Sheamus completely got blown out with a nice kick to the face as the ladder was teetering and Morrison won, holy crap, holy crap. Match of the year here, holy crap holy crap, Morrison and Sheamus put on a 4 star classic folks, holy crap, holy crap.

The Miz defeated Randy Orton in a wwe title tables match

Randy Orton started this match hard, and he was fighting forward fast, with no major offense from Miz or Riley. Randy Orton was completely dominant in the first part of this match up, and was first to set up a table, but that was his undoing, at least the first part. Miz dropkicked a table into Orton and the pendulum swung in the other direction. The Miz was actually looking strong against orton in the mid-point of this match, which was interesting.

In what was one of the smartest moves I've seen in wrestling, a ref bump happened, and that let Alex Riley to come in and get powerbombed through a table! Miz then hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Orton and dragged him to where Riley went through the table, woke up the ref and BOOOM won the match! Right out of the page of Eddie Guerrero, what a great short cut, oh man, Miz wins, and boy oh boy what a finish, I loved it.

But the ref restarted the match!!!!

Orton restarted the match like a house on fire, and beat up Miz, but Miz threw Riley through the middle of the ropes while Orton was on the apron and BOOOM, Orton falls through a table! HOLY CRAP! GREATER FINISH! THE MIZ RETAINS and the kids are saddened! Wow! WoW! what a finish, I loved it, I absolutely loved it, wow.

Edge defeated Kane and Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio in a fatal four way tlc match

This match started much like other matches, fast and with great impact. Towards the middle of the match it was Del rio and Mysterio that took center stage, and it was painfully obvious that Del Rio was scared of bumping with the ladder. At one point it even looked like he was injured at one point with the ladder. Meanwhile, Mysterio, Edge and Kane had no problems taking some serious bumps into and onto the ladder. Edge and Mysterio provided a lot of the fast paced wrestling, and it was interesting to see them work a legit match instead of random opponents.

Kane still sucks, and he was the worst point of this match for me. I didn't like it, but Del Rio's timid nature was a close second. Del Rio eventually got used to getting hit with the ladders and took some nice bumps, but it took him a good part of this match to get his bearings. Kane was teamed up on at one point, and then Del Rio got his. Edge nearly killed himself at one point diving off the top of a ladder through Kane through a table and hitting the outside barrier head first! Edge gave it all, wow.

The four men eventually left the ringside area and were fighting on the ramp. Mysterio got onto a table on the stage and launched off of one and into Kane...it was an awkward leap. Mysterio then ran into the ring and I thought he was going to get the belt, but nope. Edge blocked a 619 with a steel chair! Smart move! I thought Edge was going to win at the mid-point of this match. Rey Mysterio and Edge flew off the tallest ladder and onto the floor which nearly killed em, I couldn't believe it. At this point, Ricardo Rodriguez started climbing the ladder! Yep, he climbed the ladder and was nearly at the belt when Kane showed up! Yep! Kane showed up and well, chokeslammed him straight to Hell! Then Del Rio was chokeslammed straight to hell! Then Edge, yep, chokeslammed straight to hell through a table! Rey was able to hit a 619 on Kane, then threw a chair at him, and once again Rey Mysterio was left alone with the ladders and maybe he could win the championship! I was marking out huge as a big Rey Mysterio fan, and he was alone and had energy! HOLY CRAP I was marking out huge as his hand hit the belt, but Del Rio managed to fight him.

Del Rio was on top of the tallest ladder and he went threw a table on the outside, and it looked like he got the wind knocked out of him and it was brutal. It looked sick, he fell what seemed like forever through a table. Mysterio got caught in mid air and boom, Tombstone piledriver, and Kane was the only one left with any strength at this point, and his head was bleeding. Everything looked easy towards the end for Kane and I didn't want him to win. He seemed to be poised to retain, and was nearly to the top of the ladder when Edge ran in with a chair and stopped his forward momentum. Kane was speared off the apron through a table and there was only one man left....EDGE.

Edge climbed the ladder and pulled the title down, to wint the World Heavyweight Championship, and the crowd went nuts, and so did I. I went nuts for Edge, he really gave it all. Props to Del Rio for falling a million feet through a solo table, it lookd bad, it looked bad.

Dashing Cody Rhodes came out and talked randomly in ring and out came The Big Show dressed as Santa. He was giving out copies of Knucklehead. Big Show ended up beating up Dashing Cody Rhodes, and leaving him in ring completely torn apart except for his underwear. The crowd loved it, I didn't hate it. Big Show is hilarious.

John Cena defeated Wade Barrett in a chairs match

Cm Punk joined the announce team here. This match was in fact the main event, and no titles were on the line. John Cena and Barrett wrestled to a stale mate for the early goings of this match. Cena hit a nice DDT on Wade Barrett and this match was swinging fully into John Cena's favor. The crowd was completely in love with Cena and it was completely audible, and if I were 8 years old, I'd be the biggest John Cena fan.

Barrett was first to attack with the chair, and it was ok, but without chairshots to the head, I don't really care about the stipulation. The two battled their way to the top of the ramp and were brawling, and eventually they got some chairs and came back in the ring. Cena hit a sick leg drop with a chair under it, kind of like the Sabu special, and Barrett looked like he was going to win this one easily.

John Cena set up 6 chairs and lifted Barrett on his shoulders then gave him the Attitude Adjustment through 6 chairs! I kid you not, the bump looked nice, and Wade Barrett was essentially put to rest, he was done folks, Cena wins yet again. Super John Cena, and I didn't hate it nearly as much. Cena wins. Now who does he have left to fight? No one.

Post match, Wade Barrett was crawling out of the ring, literally, crawling up the ramp, and out ran John Cena and hit Barrett with another chair shot, much to the dismay of Cm Punk. Cena than put some sort of wooden thing on top of barrett and then pulled a wall of chairs from the rafters crashing down onto Barrett! Yep. TLC ends with Super John Cena smiling, waving, saluting, drinking water, and kissing babies. He wins. Wow.

A quality, PPV, great one.

You can purchase WWE TLC 2009 PPV on DVD for now, and wait for this one to come out on dvd. Wow...what an event. I loved it, for once.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/14/10 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian in the Intercontinental Championship Match
Shad defeated Jobber #9292
JTG & MVP defeated The Dudebusters
Layla defeated Beth Phoenix to win the Women’s Title
Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero
Rey Mysterio vs Cm Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/14/10 Review

The night opened with the Intercontinental Championship title tournament finals. It would be two of the top guys in the mid-card, and I liked that they opened the show like this.

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian in the Intercontinental Championship Match

Christian hasn’t been on the roll that he once was at in ECW, but he can take a lot of punishment, and it showed. He was busted open the hard way at one point, and took some big bumps on the outside. Kofi too took a mean bump on the floor outside, when Christian moved out of the way of a splash. The two were going back and forth, and fast too, getting the crowd going several times, and getting me excited about the Intercontinental Champion yet again. Kofi hit thunder in paradise, and this thing was all over.

Kofi Kingston won, but out came Drew McIntyre, and the title was overruled and Kofi was stripped of the title. Drew McIntyre was reinstated, and is still recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. A letter was read, and that was it. It’s stupid.

Shad defeated Jobber #9292

Shad beat a jobber. I don’t like the character, and I don’t like JTG solo, so this was stupid to me.

JTG & MVP defeated The Dudebusters

Well, there’s another hot shot tag team, thrown together. I hate these idiotic tag teams that are just so boring. Well, the Dudebusters got killed, they were buried by the new team. I’m so sick of the tag division in the WWE. I long for the days when good tag-team wrestling existed and there were several teams gunning for the tag titles.

Remember the Killer Bees, British Bulldogs, The Orient Express, The Rockers, The Barbarians, Harlem Heat, Public Enemy, The Eliminators and so many others? Oh man, I wish it were back in the day.

Layla defeated Beth Phoenix

Layla and Michelle McCool battled Beth Phoenix for the title, but when Beth Phoenix fell to the floor, Layla pinned the champion. This match was ok, not great, but it was smart the way it played out, with Phoenix having a knee injury.

Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero

Chavo got killed, I don’t know why he is still working for WWE, he’s just a jobber.

Rey Mysterio vs Cm Punk

This match was not half bad, it featured all the spots that both men have put on in their last two matches. The only difference here was that the new member of the Society came in and helped Punk beat up Mysterio.

Overall this night of smackdown wasn’t all that great. I was actually tired, and didn’t really enjoy the majority of the matches. It had a few good moments, but it was dumb.

WWE Extreme Rules 2010 Results and Mini Review

WWE EXTREMES RULES 2010 RESULTS

Show Miz defeated R Truth & John Morrison, and MVP & Mark Henry in a gauntlet match
Hart Dynasty defeated Show Miz (in same gauntlet match)

Cm Punk defeated Rey Mysterio
JTG defeated Shad in a strap match
Jack Swagger defeated Randy Orton

The John Cena match was good until the ending, the DUMBEST ending in WWE history folks, taping Batista's legs? Seriously? STUPID STUPID STUPID!

There's a new member of the Straightedge Society, but who is he? I don't know.

Swagger winning clean was great.

The rest of the night was not EXTREME at all...what a waste of my money.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/23/10 Results

John Morrison defeated Jack Swagger
Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy & R Truth
Mike Knox vs JTG
Mickie James and Beth Phoenix defeated Michelle McCool & Layla
Luke Gallows & CM Punk defeated Kane & Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/23/10 Review

Jack Swagger came out to a chorus of boo’s from the audience and looked confidence as the champion. He then cut a promo, and got booed more. I was already bored and it had only been like 2 minutes.

John Morrison defeated Jack Swagger

This match was interesting to note, it’s nice to see Morrison wrestling against Swagger. Swagger wasn’t as dominating as he was in other matches, but he was managing to take a lot of offense from Morrison. Morrison made some key mistakes, and the champion captilized several times. Swagger gets better and better during in ring, too bad he can’t talk that well. The ending made no sense, no sense at all. Jack Swagger was beaten by John Morrison, cleanly! Despite Swagger hitting his powerbomb, and despite dominating a good portion towards the end, Morrison managed to hit starship pain and win! I like the ending, it just doesn’t make sense to have such a weak champion, he’s always losing! What the hell kind of booking is this?

Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy & R Truth

When’s the last time Drew McIntyre defended his title?

How come fat-ass Matt Hard isn’t fired? They fired fat Mickie James…nevermind.

This match wasn’t all that great, and while it did have some moments, the match seemed to be going downhill when Ziggler and McIntyre kept beating up Hardy and pushing his head into the steel steps. I thought the match was going to be done, but nope, Hardy kept pushing forward and kept getting beaten.

The Referee ended the match when Matt Hardy couldn’t continue, giving the match to the heels. This was lame, Hardy is fat and sucks, he needs to get fired now.

Chris Jericho cut a promo inside of a steel cage, and it wasn’t half bad. Edge came out to interrupt, and wanted to fight Jericho, but not tonight, cause he claimed he was banged up….then he shook it off and got into the ring to reveal that he was quite alright.

Wade Barrett and Chris Jericho took turns beating up Edge and while Edge fought back, the numbers game didn’t favor him, at least early on. Edge then set up a spear and in what was a great moment of heel fury, Jericho locked Barrett inside the cage with EDGE! Edge went to town on Barrett and the crowd was all over it. Edge, despite his face turn, still can’t grab my attention. Jericho, is amazing, and works so well in his role, wow, too bad Jericho can’t carry Edge. Even Barrett is starting to make me interested in his character thanks to Jericho’s tutelage.

Mike Knox vs JTG

I’m not sure what happened in this match, because I went to get some coffee, and when I returned Shad was whipping the living daylights out of JTG with a leather belt. It was intense, but I didn’t care…these two are better off being tag teams not singles competitors.

Mickie James and Beth defeated Phoenix Michelle McCool & Layla

Mickie James’s last match was a tag match and while she appeared to have lost a little weight, she still got fired! Too bad they can’t fire fat ass Matt Hardy. Anyways, the match was ok at best, and actually had a good amount of wrestling. This might have been the longest divas match I’ve seen in WWE since the last time I said that statement.

Keeping that in mind, Layla and McCool worked on Beth Phoenix’s leg and it was quite good to see. Mickie James had some good offense, but she lost a few steps and was actually kind of sloppy if you watch closely. Despite a flurry of offense from James, Layla still managed to win this match up.

Post match Michelle McCool and Layla fought off Beth Phoenix and tried to injure her.

Luke Gallows & CM Punk defeated Kane & Rey Mysterio

This match had some great moments, and it proved that all four guys can work well in tag team matches. However, it seemed to me that the highlight of this match was Cm Punk. Punk just kept moving forward and hitting his spots with such precision, that it’s no wonder that many podcasts are calling him the best Heel in the business right now. I liked the match for what it was, I don’t think Kane and Gallows deserved to be in here, as they are not exactly in major story lines on their own. Mysterio went for the huricanrana but wasn’t succseful and Punk was able to capitilze and get the roll up pin.

Post match, Punk attacked Mysterio only to get roped into a barbers chair outside, and Mysterio was going to shave his head but Serena saved punk…for now.

Alright, this night of Smackdown wasn’t half bad, it wasn’t that great either. I am intrigued to see Extreme Rulez, but I have no money and won’t see it. If you see it, let me know, or don’t…who cares.

Smackdown does have the most wrestling of all wwe shows, which is still a great reason to tune in Friday nights.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Results

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger defeated MVP & Matt Hardy
The Undertaker defeated Drew McIntyre
Luke Gallows defeated Rey Mysterio
John Morrison & R Truth defeated The Hart Dynasty
Tiffany & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Review

The show opened up as if someone died, but it was just a recap of last week’s opening segment.

Rey Mysterio got out and stated calling out Cm Punk. Rey wants a street fight at Wresltemania. Punk came out and cut another grand promo, and this match is starting to build into a powder keg of explosive animosity at Wrestlemania.

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger defeated MVP & Matt Hardy

This match wasn’t much fun. It had some alright moments, but it was a tune up match for Ziggler & Swagger. Ziggler got the win with relative ease after pinning MVP. Hardy and Swagger didn’t do very much in this one, and it was Ziggler that made a name for himself.

Post match, Ziggler pulled out a huge ladder, and climbed up and took the money in the bank briefcase that was hanging in the middle of the ring.

Tiffany & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool

The divas put on an ok showing, nothing too crazy, just standard fair. This was standard fare, and nothing more. Beth Phoenix was left in the ring and Vickie Guerrero was trying to get an apology. Nothing crazy here, just another promo.

Edge and Jericho got into a little fight, and Jericho targeted Edge’s Achilles tendon, and then stood over home with the belt. This was your Cutting Edge segment.

John Morrison & R Truth defeated The Hart Dynasty

Anyone that says that the WWE isn’t burying The Hart Dynasty, should shut the up. The Hart Dynasty is the worst tag team in the WWE right now, simply because they lose every match and haven’t gone anywhere. Meanwhile, Cryme Tyme has their own segment! WORD UP! Hahah

Luke Gallows defeated Rey Mysterio

This match was half-way decent, but overall it was your standard big man vs little man match for Rey. Serena interfered and cost Rey the match, letting Gallows pin him. If Mysterio loses to punk at mania, he’ll have to join the straightedge society.

The Undertaker defeated Drew McIntyre

Drew finally gets what’s coming to him…getting buried. Literally.

This smackdown was a lot of hype and video packages. I’m tired. This show didn’t capture my imagination. I will be getting Wrestlemania…and if you want to help me pay for it please donate or something.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 2/5/10 Results and Review Post Rumble Fallout

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 2/510 Results

John Morrison defeated Kane & Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match
R Truth defeated Mike Knox
Cm Punk defeated Batista via countout
Chris Jericho defeated Matt Hardy
Mickie James & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool
Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 2/5/10 Review

The Show opened up with Chris Jericho talking about how he didn’t win the Royal Rumble. Jericho went backstage looking for Theodore Long but only ended up running into Edge. The two exchanged words and that was the end of that.

John Morrison defeated Kane & Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match

This match qualified Morrison into the elimination chamber, and it was not half bad. This match was entertaining although felt a little short. Kane looked to be the weakest link in this one as he was losing early on and McIntyre nearly pinned him after his finisher. Morrison hit Starship pain and this thing was done. Not a terrible match, but not a four star classic either.

R Truth defeated Mike Knox

Truth went right through Mike Knox with ease. He basically tore him apart, Knox barely got any offense in and Truth is going to the Elimination Chamber match without even breaking a sweat. Mike Knox has to be on his way out now.

Cm Punk defeated Batista via countout

Batista simply walked out, he didn’t even throw a punch. Punk advances to the elimination chamber.

Chris Jericho defeated Matt Hardy

This was a good short match with Chris Jericho going over Matt Hardy. I don’t remember much about it other than that fact that it was quite good in terms of reversals. I didn’t hate the match up at all, but I feel Hardy hasn’t been that relevant in a while.

Mickie James started to cut a promo and was interrupted by Beth Phoenix, but both of them were interrupted by none other than Vickie Guerrero, only to set up a new match, which I wasn’t really into.

Mickie James & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool

I’m not 100% sure where this match was going but it was fast and didn’t have a lot of action. Phoenix turned on Mickie James and Mickie still managed to win. No one cares about the divas.

Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

The final qualifying match for the elimination chamber really set up a good match in theory. I still say the best match of 2009 was Dolph Ziggler vs Rey Myterio for the Intercontinental championship, even though no one cares about that match. This match didn’t live up to that one, but it was still a good match for Smackdown. Ziggler is probably one of the more underated guys in the mid card, I really like his future if the WWE doesn’t misuse him at all. Mysterio looked to be getting stretched in this match, but was able to counter Zigglers overall style. Eventually Mysterio picked up the win and the chance to fight in the elimination chamber.

Edge started his show “The Cutting Edge” and out came Chris Jericho. The two went at it verbally and the two weren’t half bad together. Punk interrupted them then The Undertaker showed up…overall not a great ending.

Final Thoughts

This night was a mixed bag of different things. It was ok at best, and I wasn’t too into the show. Maybe I was just tired. Tired of being broke. On a personal note I went over draft on my account…man it sucks not to have a job.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/1/09 Results and Review First Smackdown of 2010

We are in a new year, and with that comes another year of wrestling updates here on the site that only 3 people read. I’ve redone the template, I’ve removed 6 ad spots, I’ve improved the loading time, and I will be working on some subtle things. I have now installed an “amazon” tower in the sidebar of this site. If you ever feel like helping me out, please buy something. I’m in the middle of trying to figure out what to do about my cable television or switching to direct tv for a year, because my last cable bill was nearly $100! This site does not pay me, and without a job (still) I’m having a hard time getting wrestling in the long term. Until then, I still am working hard to bring you this blog. The goal for Sir Jorge’s WWE Blog is to get a DOT COM, but that might not happen, since that was the goal for this site since I started it in 2007.

Also, I’m going to try and be a little more in depth in my reviews, but we’ll see what happens.

Lastly, before the results and review, please leave comments. There’s not much else I can ask for but comments. If you’re reading the site, give me feedback, and I’ll try in this new year to comment back and have a “blog post” called “COMMENTS” and we can have a discussion. Maybe I’ll even start a podcast…we’ll see.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/1/09 Results

Matt Hardy defeated Cm Punk in a beat the clock match at 7:20
Kane vs Dolph Ziggler time expired in their beat the clock match
The Great Khali defeated The Carolina Panther
Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison via disqualification
Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix
Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho in a beat the clock match with 1 second left 7:19
Batista vs R Truth the time ran out before Batista could win the match

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Review 1/1/09 Review

The show opened up with C.M Punk and Luke Gallows coming down the stage to a chorus of boo’s. C.M Punk is golden on the mic, he doesn’t seem to be trying hard at all, at least it doesn’t feel that way from my perspective. He started to make fun of people at ringside, and talked about resolutions. C.M Punk said and I loved the quote, “I Will Beat Everyone Up in this Arena if I have to!” that was the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Punk said that next week he’s going to save someone from the audience and go city by city and save people.

This is a great thing, if you think about it. Punk could be growing a stable, can you imagine that, a real stable in 2010? It’s like Raven’s Flock all over again! I hope it really does go that way. You might also notice that Punk dropped names like “Youth of Today” and “Minor Threat” two very big straighedge hardcore bands from the 80’s.

Matt Hardy defeated Cm Punk in a beat the clock match at 7:20

These two are no strangers to each other, and Hardy got a huge pop, which was definitely on time considering Punk just gave one of the best Heel promo’s I’ve heard in a long time.

Cm Punk took control of a good majority of this match. Punk has definitely been growing as a wrestler, as his timing is getting a lot more methodical, and dare I say technical. I used to hate seeing his matches, but now they seem to make a lot of sense when compared to Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Bret Hart. While he doesn’t focus on a leg, he does seem to follow up big moves with some rest holds to wear down his opponent. Hardy is no new comer though, and he waited for a mistake by punk, and turned this match around with his fast paced connective move set. It wasn’t enough though, as Punk delivered his GTS and Hardy was out for the three count.

After the match, Luke Gallows took to beating Hardy and delivered his finisher. Punk and Gallows then looked on victoriously, which was quite good. These two and possibly more in 2010 can prove to be the next Raven (ECW or WCW 97 era Raven).

Kane vs Dolph Ziggler had their time expire in their beat the clock match

When’s the last time Kane was relevant? He’s so slow in ring, although he’s been ramping it up a little, he’s just not that good anymore. I don’t like him, there I said.

Ziggler was like a man possessed in this match. He immediately lunged at Kane, and fought fast and hit Kane with everything he had, alongside quick pin attempts. Kane had a few shots in early on, but Ziggler was moving quickly and trying to win this thing in record time. Kane was definitely looking very weak in this match, as he was getting worked by a faster Ziggler, but despite all of Ziggler’s attempts to beat Kane, he couldn’t do it in the time allotted. Ziggler for not being a former champion, really made Kane look like small, and after the match was over he hit his finisher called “The Zig Zag”. This match was all Ziggler, I liked it, and hope Kane is on his way out this year.

They played a promo of Sheamus and John Cena from Monday Night Raw and they tried to make it epic, with color variations and different edits, but it didn’t look epic at all. It was tiring, and a stupid match with a stupid finish. The Sheamus and Cena feud is the worst fued idea in a long time, and I don’t care for it. In fact, WWE is going to have to do a lot to make me believe that those two are entertaining. I’ve seen Cena thrown into lights, off of limo’s and fight Eddie Guerrero in a street fight back stage, yet one stupid looking kick and it’s over? So lame.

The Great Khali defeated The Carolina Panther

The Carolina Panther is nothing more than a jobber with a Carolina Panther’s jersey. It was seriously the worst jobber idea I’ve seen in a long time. Khali came in, dropped the jobber, pinned him and won, that was it. Man, I wish I only had to work 5 minutes a week and get six figures.

Have you seen the trailers for the new Marine film? Ted Dibiase has the charisma of a wet blanket. Man, he sucks at acting or showcasing any sort of emotional response. He’s worst than Kennedy…remember the last time a wwe film flopped? Someone got fired. Will Dibiase get fired? Man, I hope so, if it means no more WWE straight to dvd sequels.

Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison via disqualification

This match had a lot of offense, both men didn’t want to let up. McIntyre was definitely looking less strong for once, and wasn’t running over Morrison in this match like he rolled over many of his opponents in the past. Morrison fired off some great offense and was fighting hard to get a foothold in this match up. McIntyre getting desperate pulled the turnbuckle off and this thing looked to be getting dangerous, but the ref was there to try and stop things. In the mix, Morrison got disqualified because of McIntyre and that led to the end of the match.

After the match, this feud started to get good. Morrison attacked McIntyre on his way back to the locker room and the two brawled, causing a ton of ref’s to come out and stop the two men from fighting. You gotta love when brawls break out, that’s just a classic moment in professional wrestling. Many feuds of the past started with brawls over the title after matches.

Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix

First and foremost, I’m tired of podcasts and wrestling websites talking about how it’s so bad that they are calling Mickie James fat. She did gain a few pounds last year and was slowing down in ring. If a person/girl watching the wwe really has problems with weight and only goes further down the rabbit hole into bad eating and weight gain, maybe they have bigger problems. I have no problems calling Mickie James “Piggy James” or that’s she’s fat, it’s PRO WRESTLING not a role model for behavior and am sick of people talking about it like it’s something that is truly going to be a trigger for people that watch it.

My explanation of that above took longer than this match. Mickie James won after Michelle McCool accidentally kicked Beth Phoenix at ringside. Mickie Wins, and she still has a little tummy to lose, just saying.

Michelle McCool and Layla attacked after the match was over, and Beth Phoenix got involved, turning her from heel to face? Weird.

The divas division sucks. The post match was better than the actual match. The best part was that a fat Mickie James was laid out cold in the middle of the ring. Maybe this will be the death of the divas division.

Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho in a beat the clock match with 1 second left 7:19

This match was actually interesting, as Jericho and Mysterio made quite a go for it. Jericho had a lot of control early on, but Mysterio turned things around a few times. Jericho reversed the 619 into the Walls of Jericho, and after that wasn’t enough, Mysterio went off the top rope only to get caught into the Code Breaker! I thought this match was all over, but nope, a small package roll up and three seconds later Rey Mysterio won this match.

While I thought the match was good, I have to ask something that no one is addressing. What good are finisher maneuvers? They never seem to pin anyone. Jericho not only hit Mysterio with a Codebreaker and the Walls of Jericho, they weren’t enough. Oh well.

Mysterio pins Jericho with only 1 second left in the timer.

Batista vs R Truth the time ran out before Batista could win the match

Mysterio was ringside for this match up. I know we’re in the world of good guys and bad guys, but the ending was awesome.

Batista was definitely in control throughout this match. Truth got some good hard shots in, but it seemed that Batista was just powerful and ready for it. Truth made it interesting though, but every time he got close to getting a good move in, Batista had a quick counter. Case in point, the sick sideslam out of a Truth’s momentum off the ropes.

Mysterio did what I thought was the only good way to end this thing. Rey Mysterio got involved at the last second and cost Batista the #1 contender match! Batista was about to close the deal and get a shot at Undertaker, but nope, Rey Mysterio showing that he wants the belt, pulled out the ref! The clock counted down and it was all said and done. A great finish, if you ask me…and no one did.

Mysterio seemed to be the #1 contender, but then out came Vickie Guerrero. She announced that Rey Mysterio must wrestle Batista next week and the winner will face the undertaker for the title at the Royal Rumble.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/18/09 Results and Review Fallout From TLC

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/18/09 Results

C.M. Punk, Luke Gallows, and Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R Truth
Kane defeated Escobar
The Great Khali defeated Chris Jericho via count out
The Hart Dynasty defeated Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J
Beth Phoenix defeated Maria
Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Batista to become the #1 contender

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/18/09 Review

Teddy Long opened up the show and out came Batista. Batista demanded a title shot, and Teddy Long looked legit scared. Rey Mysterio came out, and he demanded a rematch with Batista and the winner will win the #1 contender spot.

C.M. Punk, Luke Gallows, and Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R Truth

I feel like every time I tune into wwe programming, it’s the same style matches, to the components and finishes. I feel like I’ve already seen this match, and it’s no wonder, these guys have all faced each other last week. But again, we have to see it again, and what are you going to do? There’s nothing else to watch, is there? Oh and this is a wwe blog afterall.

The Gospel of Luke, as Striker said, was a great play by play call. I thought that was classic. This match really gave John Morrison a hard time, he was trying to find his way back to tag in one of his partners, but it was Luke Gallows and Punk that softened him up, before tagging in Drew McIntyre to clean the bones of a obviously struggling John Morrison. Cm Punk did some good tandem moves with Gallows to really create a good overall middle point of this match. I for once, was actually impressed with CM Punk’s move set, as he doesn’t usually throw up a lot of greatness on television. It’s a good fit for Gallows, as the strong man and Punk as the high flyer, which is really just shades of the original Hart Foundation. Morrison finally got a tag in, and Hardy was in there going for broke on Punk with a sick set of combinations, straight to the nearfall. Gallows threw in the Slammy Award and Punk used it to get the fall, off of Hardy. Overall, this match started slow and really tested my patience, but it picked up in the middle, and then Punk made this thing a good match up, and I enjoyed it. Punk wins again.

Dx’s constant pandering for people to buy their crap is making nautious…I mean who begs for money by having people buy stuff from their…..uh…nevermind.

Escobar is a broke ass Razor Ramon, face it.

Kane defeated Escobar

Escobar got a little gift from Vickie Guerrero, it was a match with Kane. This match was fast, it was all Kane, as he beat up Escobar and then dropped him on his neck for a big choke slam. Escobar can’t possibly be WWE’s idea of bringing up new talent.

Now, I complained yesterday about how TNA had roughly no wrestling in an hour, well, for reference, the end of this match up came at around the 50 minute mark of Smackdown. So it’s not like WWE is doing THAT much more wrestling within an hour of their 2 hour show on Friday nights. What wrestling fans need is more wrestling and less talk. Even if some of the matches are squashes, we need that “kayfabe” ideology to come back.

Chris Jericho came out and cut the standard Jericho promo. His character is getting a little stale to me. I kind of miss that old Lionheart guy from ECW and WCW. Now he’s just running his mouth too much. I guess it works on some level.

The Great Khali defeated Chris Jericho via count out

Chris Jericho was not getting much offense in on the giant here in the early goings of this one. Khali towers over Jericho by a ton! Jericho’s moves were no match most of the time, even though Khali was a little slower than Jericho. Jericho decided to walk away after a while, since he couldn’t do anything to beat the giant.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J

Jimmy Wang Yang is still employed? Slam Master J is still employed? What is going on?

The Hart Dynasty is one of the worst flops of WWE history. They shouldn’t even use the Hart name right now. Despite my dislike for the way the team’s been going, I did find this match somewhat entertaining. Slam Master J and Jimmy Wang Yang were proving to be a little more difficult than you’d think. DH Smith actually looked strong for once, and Natalya was finally doing a good job outside the ring. The Hart’s hit their finisher, and this thing was done. I didn’t hate this match, but it’s sad to see that there’s not more competition and teams in the WWE tag team division, if you can even call it that.

Beth Phoenix defeated Maria

Maria is simply outclassed by Beth Phoenix in regards to pro-wrestling. Phoenix was in control for the most part of this match and when she hit the Glam Slam this thing was done. Maria, for being diva of the year, really is terrible at wrestling. Phoenix has little to no competition in the women’s division of WWE, face it.

Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Batista to become the #1 contender

Batista immediately caught Rey Mysterio with strength, catching Mysterio in mid air and throwing him emphatically into the turnbuckles, like a rag doll. This match was mostly Rey Mysterio, with no remorse or let down. Mysterio was getting pummeled in a crazy way. Mysterio did manage to come back, if only momentarily at times, with some quick reversals and counters. Mysterio had some very near falls after his ddt, and a top rope senton, causing Batista to run out of steam. Batista definitely was growing tired as the match went on, and it was obvious he couldn’t keep up with Rey Mysterio towards the end of the match up. After the 619, the mighty Batista seemed done, as he fell like a gain tree in the forest, but still managed to get the knees up to hit Mysterio as he fell from the top rope. Batista started to get frustrated near the end of the match, and right when I thought this was over, Batista was rolled up fast and got pinned!

In a shocker, Mysterio defeated Batista and now Rey Mysterio will face The Undertaker for the WORLD TITLE! On Christmas, it is MYSTERIO vs UNDERTAKER WORLD TITLE! I’m excited! But something tells me it’s not going to stay that way.

Smackdown had some good matches. I didn’t really care for the talking, or the backstage stupidity. But overall I didn’t have a hard time watching Smackdown, like I did watching Tna Impact this week.

Next week is Christmas. I will be reviewing Smackdown the day after Christmas, as I usually do on this blog. The reason why I don’t live blog the shows is because my wife works early mornings and I don’t try to stay up too late. Plus, since I have no job right now I just wait for the next day to enjoy wrestling. That’s right, I’m still broke and have no job. That’s also the reason why there’s little to no ppv reviews this second half of the year.

There will be no TNA next week, it’s being preempted, I think. I’m most likely NOT going to review the TNA year end “best of” show. But will be back for their January 4th show. I’ll be reviewing Tribute to the Troops tonight, and then be back for another edition of Monday Night Raw.

One last time today, if you have extra money please visit our amazon links and buy something online. Each sale gets me 4% and it doesn’t cost you anything. If not, that’s fine. Smackdown has definitely been the better show all year, and this one actually had a good finish.Seriously, I didn't really think Mysterio was going to get the title shot for Christmas. I still think that WWE might change that match into either a triple threat, or Mysterio is going to "mysteriously" be knocked out in the backstage area. So we'll see what the WWE does with all that.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/4/09 Results and Review More Crap To Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/4/09 Results

R. Truth defeated CM Punk via disqualification
Kane defeated Mike Knox
Mickie James defeated Natalya and Beth Phoenix in a triple threat match
Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison (non title match)
The Hart Dynasty defeated Escobar
Chris Jericho & The Big Show defeated Cryme Tyme

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 12/4/09 Review

The show started with CM Punk and Luke Gallows coming to the ring. I knew what was coming, but my eye hurt, so I didn’t write it down right away.

R. Truth defeated CM Punk via disqualification

CM Punk and R Truth could put a good match together, and prove to be good overall. However, this match wasn’t even close to being good at all. It was obviously headed towards a disqualification finish, and when Gallows interfered that’s exactly what we got. I like Punk with a bodyguard, and this mean streak keeps growing. I don’t dislike it, I just feel that we could use more clean finishes in wrestling. I mean, what is this? TNA? Geez.

And now ladies and gentleman, the big man slow match…what is this the 1980’s?

Kane defeated Mike Knox

I hate big man matches. I think it’s because I’ve seen them too many times. Sure they guys can move, but I’m not a fan of either right now. Kane has slowed down since his days as Isaac Yankem and Mike Knox hasn’t been relevant for a long time it seems. Kane essentially put away Mike Knox, and it’s time to fire him. Knox sucks now. Kane sucks too. This match was standard, but it ended with a good choke slam.

Jericho and Big Show backstage with Josh had the longest, and I do mean longest, promo I’ve seen in a long time. This thing was long, longer than anything in recent years. This was a main throwback to the 80’s, and if you saw it, you know what I’m talking about.

Mickie James defeated Natalya and Beth Phoenix

Best part about this triple threat match? A sick double clothesline between Phoenix and Natalya! Picture perfect, and just sick. These three are the best wrestlers in the divas division, and wow, they put on a few good shots in there. Mickie James edged out a victory after some time, and near falls. So now, Mickie James is the #1 contender.

Mickie James went nuts and started to fight McCool and Layla at ringside, and out of the back came Maria to help her out.

Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison

Drew finally gets a shot at some serious competition, and he didn’t disappoint, and neither did Morrison. Morrison didn’t just back down, he went right at Drew, and Drew was keeping up quite well, making some good reversals and catching up with Morrison’s offense. Seriously, Drew had Morrison well scouted, and was putting his boots to him better than some other contenders, including Ziggler! On the outside at one point, Drew pulled Morrison’s head into the bars underneath the ring and this caused the champion to lose the match. Drew pinned Morrison, and he’ll most likely get a shot at the title.

Escobar is channeling the “Razor Ramon” character, vest and all. Vickie Guerrero came out and cut a huge promo, and Escobar appears to be a fan favorite now? This is lame. Whatever, I’m too tired to write more about this b.s.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Escobar

Escobar had to wrestle both members of the Hart Dynasty, and early on he had this thing rolled up. He was showcasing some good offense, and clean moves, but Tyson Kidd wasn’t going to just sit down as he tagged in the big man DH Smith and Escobar was not doing well with the numbers game. The Hart Attack was hit and Escobar is done. Looks like Escobar is going to be wished his future endeavors.

Chris Jericho & The Big Show defeated Cryme Tyme

This match was fast, and while Jericho was obviously the weak link of the tag team champions, Cryme Tyme was getting some good offense in. However, Shad walked into a huge right hand and was knocked out. Big Show and Jericho win with somewhat ease.

The Undertaker was coming down to the ring, but Batista interrupted him with a chair and just attacked with no mercy. He was trying to soften up taker for their match at TLC.

And that was the end of the show. Smackdown was ok at best.

WWE Smackdown 11/13/09 Results and Review The Undertaker Jericho

WWE Smackdown 11/13/09 Results

C.M. Punk defeated R Truth
Natalya defeated Mickie James
Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest/double dq
John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler double countout
Beth Phoenix defeated Lisa Taylor
The Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho

WWE Smackdown 11/14/09 Review

So here we are again, in England and Cm Punk comes out and does his sermon as usual. He talks about how he’s better than everyone there, and that straightedge is a great thing, and he’s perfect, basically the same promo he’s been doing for a long time now.

C.M. Punk defeated R Truth

Cm Punk and R Truth are both amidst a depush in a lot of ways, and it’s interesting to see how WWE is letting the ropes go in regards to these two performers. The match was fast paced, which definitely favored Truth, and as we went to the first commercial break, Truth had Punk on the floor and reeling. The rest of the match was definitely back and forth between the two, but at one point Truth’s knee started to fail him and Punk capitalized. This made it a more event fight as Truth couldn’t use his speed to get the upper hand. Punk was in the lead, and after a quick roll up attempt and a hand full of ropes, Punk finished off Truth, although not clean.

Natalya defeated Mickie James

Mickie James finally had some good competition, and it showed that she wasn’t just a hack, although she still looks a bit heavy. The match was back and forth, with Natalya getting the upper hand after Michelle McCool and Layla were ripping up Mickie James’ clothing on the outside. Natalya won with a sharpshooter and the match was over. This match wasn’t that good, but it was better than the Raw side of the divas, that’s for sure.

Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest/double dq

Well we finally get a good match, or at least on paper a good match, with Drew McIntyre as he fights the guy that claims he loves to fight. This match was getting good, but the two just kept fighting each other outside the ring and then inside the ring to the point that the referee just threw the match out. McIntyre is getting a good build, I hope they keep it up. Finlay and Drew McIntyre need a no holds barred match, or something hat spills to the outside, ala Triple H vs Mankind, leading to an old school cage match. Remember? Summerslam 97? Come on…they stole the show…although Undertaker and Bret Hart was a great classic match too.

Batista and Rey Mysterio had a contract signing. Of course, in contract signing fashion, Mysterio threw the table over Batista and embarrassed him. NO contract signing goes smoothly, does it? I hate contract signings.

John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler double countout

I still say that Mysterio vs Ziggler (the first time) was the best match of 2009 and proof that Ziggler has some major skills. In this match he was proving once again that he was a might good wrestler. Seriously, I couldn’t believe how good this guy is and wonder why WWE can’t get more guys with the same intensity. This match was getting really good, and these guys were definitely giving top notch performances, but both men fell off the top rope and got counted out. Morrison looked to have the worse of it though.

Beth Phoenix defeated Lisa Taylor

Beth Phoenix once again defeats a jobber in ring. This match was nothing more than a classic jobber vs up and comer type match up. Seriously, it was just your standard job. I was bored.

The Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho

This ppv caliber match, on paper, started with Undertaker in control and Jericho reeling as the phenom was definitely on top of his game. The match had a back and forth feel, with the Undertaker actually looking human. Jericho kept on pushing and eventually hit the Code Breaker! Without being able to pin the Undertaker Jericho went for the Tombstone Piledriver but it was reversed and eventually the Walls of Jericho were slapped on! However, Undertaker reversed that into the Hells Gate Submission and Jericho tapped like a school girl. Overall a good outing, but limited to television time restraints. They’ll meet again on ppv, and it should be an instant classic.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Results and Review Batista and Undertaker

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler & The Hart Dynasty defeated John Morrison & Cryme Tyme
Beth Phoenix defeated Brittany Carter
Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Wang Yang
Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox
R Truth defeated Cm Punk
Matt Hardy defeated Batista via disqualification

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Review

The Undertaker started the show with a “dead man” speech. I’m sick of the Undertaker already. I liked it better when he didn’t say a whole lot. The Undertaker states the obvious and he just isn’t as scary.

Chris Jericho came out to talk smack at the Undertaker and cut that random “I’m not scared” promo.

Dolph Ziggler & The Hart Dynasty defeated John Morrison & Cryme Tyme

This match was actually not half bad. Seriously, this match had a lot of things going for it. It mainly had the fast paced feel that a six man tag should have, and it had a lot of quick tags, fast moves, and good overall timing. Ziggler and Morrison aren’t the only ones that can really go in the ring. The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme added a good amount of “flavor” to the match, giving an overall good time. The finish came when Ziggler tagged in blindly and got the pinfall victory. Ziggler is one upping John Morrison, maybe he’s next in line for an intercontinental title reign, and in my view, a little over due.

Rey Mysterio gave some weak interview, it bored me.

Beth Phoenix defeated Brittany Carter

Beth Phoenix squashed another no name woman jobber. I’m not sure why the WWE feels they need to reestablish Beth Phoenix as an unstoppable monster in the women’s division. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. She beat the jobber, and that was that. Maybe Brittany Carter will go to tna now.

Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

What the heck? Jimmy Wang Yang is still employed too? First Jamie Noble and now Jimmy Wang Yang? What the heck! Jimmy Wang Yang got very little offense in, and it was all over. Drew wins again and Jimmy Wang Yang is on his way out, he just has to be.

Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox

Mike Knox beat up Rey Mysterio for most of this match. Seriously, he really pushed the limits on what kind of a beating he could get. It’s an interesting thing overall, because Mike Knox looked like he was winning this thing clean, with the heaviest handed offense I’ve seen in a long time…then it all collapsed. It collapsed and I was frustrated. It’s one thing to have John Cena be superman, but Rey Mysterio is still this super little man? So lame. So lame. This bored me, sorry, I’ve seen way too much Rey Mysterio for one life time.

R Truth defeated Cm Punk

This match really reminded me how slow Cm Punk’s offense has gotten. He has some explosive flurries, but he’s really put on this slow motion, methodical offensive style instead of his fast paced indie style that he used to have while champion and while on ecw. Truth was getting worked for a good part of this match, and Punk really did try to wear him down, but Truth kept pushing and eventually got most of his fast paced moves. Punk started yelling at the referee again, and Truth rolled up Punk for the fast count and the win.

Matt Hardy defeated Batista via disqualification

You know that WWE is odd when the main event features a fat Matt Hardy. Come on, he’s not in his prime right now, and I’m not sure why I can’t get behind a super “tights” wearing Matt Hardy. It was one thing to see him annihilate Edge for screwing Lita…even if it was a work, but this is ridiculous. He’s just not someone I can et behind, even if he’s fighting a very mad Batista. That all being said, Matt Hardy did put up a fight and didn’t just let Batista get the fast win. Hardy put up a lot of defense, and went through some hard hits. Hardy’s short leg drop to Batista’s knee was the highlight for me, he should’ve started the match with that, ala Bret Hart. Hardy’s weight definitely showed when he went or the failed Moonsault…but he managed to hit the Twist of Fate! I liked this match, it was really getting good towards the end, or maybe I was just waking up.

Batista snapped nd got himself disqualified by beating Hardy to within an inch of his life. Oh well.

Smackdown was ok, I’m not really too keen on anything going on right now on either major wwe show. I just don’t care right now. I’m going through the motions, it’s true, it just seems too old to me. I’ll get back into a groove, I’m sure.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/30/09 Results and Review Halloween Show

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/30/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison via countout
Beth Phoenix defeated Jenny Brooks
Matt Hardy defeated Escobar
Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest
CM Punk defeated Scott Armstrong
Chris Jericho defeated Kane

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 10/30/09 Review

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are the ringside announcers now, since Jim Ross is not feeling so hot lately.

Teddy Long started the show talking about how Smackdown was great at Bragging Rights, and then recapping the events that transpired between Batista and Rey Mysterio. Teddy Long started talking about how great the Smackdown brand was, then Chris Jericho came out to talk about random crap. Teddy Long took the trophy away from Jericho, and the night continued with Jericho complaining about how he doesn’t have a title shot.

This prompted Kane to show up. After a near melee, Teddy Long created a match to see who would join the Big Show and Undertaker for the title. Kane and Jericho will square off later tonight and the Survivor series match is going to be a triple threat match, just like the Raw main event will be.

Long gone are the days of singles matches for the title? Am I watching TNA? I’m confused.

Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison via countout

This match started fast, off rails and going forward to becoming match of the night. Morrison and Ziggler are definitely the future of this company, even though John Morrison’s ring attire is a bit dated at this point. This match was fast paced, move for move, and these guys put on a great show. I really liked how these two knew each others moves and narrowly missed getting hit by them. The match broke down on the outside, as Ziggler hit a sick move on the announcers table, costing the ten count on John Morrison and winning this match with ease.

Beth Phoenix defeated Jenny Brooks

Beth Phoenix defeated this jobber or sorts. This match was all Beth Phoenix, and it was nice to see her get some good offense in and prove that she can wrestle and is not just a…face of sorts.

Matt Hardy defeated Escobar

Matt Hardy is fat. Escobar is a wannabe latino heat…only he has none of the charisma. WWE buries talent, and uses Matt Hardy and his fat gut to do it. On the other hand, this match had some good moments. Escobar attacking Hardy’s knee was a classic technical wrestler move, however, not following up and letting Matt Hardy steal another win, is not a classic move. Matt Hardy completely buries the new guy, and why not? That’s the traditional way of not getting someone over in the wwe. I don’t mind, the match wasn’t completely terrible. It was a bit shorter than I thought it would be, and probably because Escoobar isn’t ready for the big time.

Rey Mysterio wanted an explanation in ring about what happened. Batista came out and the two shared words. This thing wasn’t as tense as I thought, and it really didn’t look that great to me. However, Batista turning Heel? That’s something I could get behind, but seeing Mysterio in another “little man” vs “big man” feud is a bit much. We need a cruiserweight division, that’s for sure.

On a sidenote, I want to say that Twilight sucks, and I’m already tired of seeing the advertisements for a pg-13 new moon…now if it was rated R and we got some….um…nevermind.

Drew McIntyre vs Finlay no contest

Finlay, the guy who loves to fight, was scheduled to wrestle Drew McIntyre. However, Finlay never really made it as Drew McIntyre attacked him and forced the match to get canceled. It’s ironic really that Finlay gets pwned like this. Oh well. I like how they are building up Drew McIntyre.

The Divas had a costume contest, and it broke into a fight. I’ve been tired of the no talent wwe divas for a long time, but I don’t call the shots, I just review em.

Cm Punk defeated Scott Armstrong

Remember that awesome match in WCW with Brad Armstrong and Dean Malenko? Of course you don’t, but this match reminded me of that. Only because Scott Armstrong comes from a wrestling family and like his other brothers isn’t very famous…until now…well Road Dogg is, but that’s another story. Punk killed Scott Armstrong here, he hit the GTS and really made short work out of Armstrong, for no apparent reason other than Punk couldn’t beat the Undertaker.

Chris Jericho defeated Kane

Kane and Jericho put on an ok match. In fact, this match was a little more than ok, this was the first time I was actually interested in a Kane match. Well, the first time in a long time. The Big Slow machine has been stinking up the arena’s for quite sometime, and I feel he’s on his way out. He’s a tired gimmick and boring to watch. He has some cool moments though, but overall, he’s not that good…unless he’s wrestling Chris Jericho. Jericho was not in control for most of this match as it seemed that every time he would throw a move up, he would get stopped by Kane and couldn’t really capitalize on it. This match really started to slow down but Jericho’s Codebreaker on Kane as Kane came off the top rope, made this something to see. While it didn’t look as good as many other moments that Jericho has done, this spot was done well considering Kane’s size. Jericho wins and is going to Survivor series to wrestle a similar storyline that Raw is doing. Oh well…

Smackdown was ok, nothing too crazy happened and it was entertaining enough to get me through another day of wrestling.
