WWE Smackdown 11/7/08 Results and Review

Here we go, another Smackdown and this one comes a week after Chavo Guerrero got buried into a casket! Awesome!

MVP opens up the show with his in ring promo show, and he claims he hasn’t been focused lately and that’s why he’s losing. MVP’s segment was interrupted by The Great Khali and it is time for the Khali Kiss Cam. I hate the Khali kiss cam, just for the record. MVP is no chump and he proves it by running back to the ring and attacking Khali, and then runs away, like a good heel! MVP is the man! He needs to win for a change though. Word on the street is that Helms is going to beat him sooner than later.

Shelton Benjamin defeated R-Truth

This was a long time coming, Truth has been feuding with Shelton Benjamin for a while, and he has been getting over with the fans. So now he’s getting the title shot! I must admit I was going “What’s Up”! “What’s Up”! I thought this was going to be easy for Truth to win, but it turned out that Benjamin was going to be a lot harder to put away then he expected. Truth was putting the boots to Benjamin and he even threw out a suicide plancha to the floor, and then he went up stairs for a Missile Dropkick! This was awesome! Truth really put on a show for once, and I was marking out like a little kid. But then Benjamin hit The Paydirt and R-Truth loses cleanly to Shelton Benjamin! I couldn’t believe it, R-Truth had his best match in a long time, I loved it.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Another squash match on WWE programming. What a waste of time. I don’t want to see this crap. Why is Jimmy Wang Yang the new Funaki? He is just getting squashed all the time. I hate this crap. Why not have a Cruiserweight division wwe? Why not? I wanted to just give up here. This match was lame, Jackson killed Yang, that’s all.

The Miz & John Morrison defeated Jeff Hardy & Triple H via Disqualification

Jeff Hardy started off this match trying to prove that he’s still got it, but he was getting worked by Morrison and Miz. Triple H watched on, as Hardy was just getting severely worked, and Triple H just didn’t jump in to save him much. Hardy didn’t tag Triple H in in this match up and he was continually trying to get this win by himself. This could be because he wants another title shot and he told Vickie Guerrero earlier in the show that he was going to proof to her that he’s still Extreme. This of course made for some great double teaming opportunities from Miz & Morrison and no major offense or help from Triple H. Hardy got desperate after not being able to win this on his own and he took out Morrison and Miz with a Steel Chair!

Great Khali defeated MVP

MVP got thrown into this match, and he really needed to win it. I was rooting for him, because he hasn't won a match in a Long time and if he doesn't win sometime soon, he might as well just go to TNA, as it is the custom with people that get fired or leave the wwe. Not like there's any other options for American pro-wrestlers. This isn't 1998 ya know. Khali killed MVP, even though MVP was trying to work over Khali's leg and take the big man down. It was a sad day for MVP as once again he loses and once again Gregory Helms makes fun of him. They are bound to square off sooner than later.

Brie Bella defeated Victoria

Woa, too much make up! Way TOO MUCH MAKEUP! THe divas had so much make up that their faces no longer looked real, and this is sad. This match sucked, I'm sorry, this stupid piece of crap match featured two divas that no one cares about. I've always said that Victoria can wrestle, but she's never involved in good matches anymore. If WWE would just take a look at the Knockouts division, they could feature some compelling wrestling! This match seemed like a standard divas match, even if Victoria did throw up some good moves. It was relatively short and the fans weren't really into it, and neither was I.

The Bella twins finally showed up, and all that under the ring stuff was finally revealed. Lame.

Kozlov defeated The Underkaker via dq

This match was really back and forth and I liked it. I liked where it was going, but then Hardy runs down and interferes, forcing me to get tired and go to sleep. Hardy then begs for a no rules match with The Undertaker next week. Smackdown is getting really really interesting. Kozlov wins again, and we are still going to see who's fighting Triple H at Survivor Series.
