WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/7/09 Results

CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy no contest
John Morrison defeated Tyson Kidd
Slam Master J defeated Charlie Haas
Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay, R Truth, and Mike Knox
JTG defeated Chris Jericho
The Great Khali defeated Ricky Ortiz
Jeff Hardy defeted CM Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/7/09 Review

CM Punk was out to ring side and giving a heel promo, guised as a face promo? He was talking about how the fans need him, and that he is better than Hardy because he doesn’t drink, smoke, or do drugs.

CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy no contest

This match never got off the ground, the two were fighting so hard that it prompted security to come out and separate them. This was so out of control that it prompted Vince McMahon to come out and talk about how Teddy Long is on probation, and introduced a new guest enforcer for the title match between Hardy and Punk.

The guest enforcer is, to be announced.

Hardy then lunged at Punk, and Punk escaped to ringside. This match for all intents and purposes was a no contest, for now.

John Morrison defeated Tyson Kidd

I admit, Morrison is good, but I’m not a fan. Kidd is ok, but I’m not a fan either. Maybe the two could wake me up from my pizza coma, as I had pizza for dinner. Early on the match was somewhat slow, to start, however once the battle went to the floor Kidd got the leg up, and was overpowering Morrison with the numbers game. Morisson, after the break, was all over Kidd with heavy weight moves. Including a signature Standing Moonsault, creating a near fall that jolted him. Kidd was trying to keep up, but was actually out wrestled by a heavier, more agile Morrison. Morrison did get into a cross submission maneuver, and looked decent, but it just seemed a little sloppy in comparison to Morrison. Morrison hit Starship Pain on Kidd’s FACE! No doubt hurting the lad, and this match was over. Kidd got hit hard, I’m surprised that Kidd wasn’t legit knocked out, as Morrison looked a little bit callous and reckless with that final move for the win.

Slam Master J defeated Charlie Haas

Jam Master J picked up his first win on Smackdown as a solo wrestler. Haas did ok, but this was another job well done for good ol’ Charlie Haas who just basically laid down for Master J to win. This was another one of Charlie Haas’s losses, face it, he’s on his way out.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay, R Truth, and Mike Knox

This match featured four IC title contenders, in a free for all type match. Each one was hitting hard and no one was getting the clear advantage early on. Mike Knox looked like he was going to win this one, but after a few near falls, it was a cluster of humanity in the ring. Each member getting shots on the other, eventually it was Dolph Ziggler getting over with a pinfall. Ziggler wasn’t a major factor in this match, and in fact the only one that seemed to get a big reaction was R Truth, but it was to no avail, Ziggler will once again try to steal the show with Rey for the Intercontinental title at summerslam.

JTG defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho can make anyone look good and he proved it in this match. JTG is not a top worker, yet he strung together an alright match with none other than Jericho, who is simply on top of his game right now. The two exchanged some quick pinfalls, and near misses, with Jericho putting over JTG in the end. JTG hit a nice top rope leg drop, and when Jericho thought he had won this one after a codebreaker, JTG managed to roll up Jericho while he was arguing with the ref, getting the quick pinfall! JTG defeated Jericho, and this match wasn’t half bad.

The Great Khali defeated Ricky Ortiz

Ricky Ortiz might be on his way out too, because he just lost in like 5 minutes. Khali hit the plunge and then pinned Ortiz with ease. A total squash; maybe Ortiz is next to get thrown out aka fired.

Jeff hardy defeated CM Punk w/ special guest enforcer Matt hardy

Matt Hardy is back and he has his cast off. He looks to have gained a little weight too, and he’s going to be the enforcer!

Jeff Hardy started this match like the champ, fast and easily putting Punk at bay, holding onto the overall aptitude of the match up. Punk turned things around after the commercial break and looked like he was going to get the upper hand in this match up, but wasn’t able to counter some of Hardy’s offense, which sometimes came out of nowhere with no way to telegraph things. Punk hit a picture perfect top rope superplex and was ready to hit the GTS, looking like the title was in his reach, but instead decided to punish hardy a little before hand, allowing Hardy to reverse it, only to get into a nearfall yet again. Punk jumped to the outside where Matt and Jeff had to face each other, but nothing happened…until Punk baseball slid Matt to the floor! Hardy capitalized on the distraction and hit the Twist of Fate then went for the Swanton Bomb, but Punk got his knees up! Matt pulled the referee while Punk was at a 2 count! Hardy then hit a nice roll up, and Matt counted really fast, allowing Hardy to win the match, and punk was left mad at Matt! Punk then chased Matt…this thing has some interesting turning points, it’ll be interesting to see where this all goes in the near future.

Smackdown wasn’t all that great. However, after last night’s terrible night of wrestling, this was much appreciated.

Post match, Punk once again pummeled Jeff Hardy, hitting him with a chair and making short work of Hardy, too bad it was after the match was over!

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Results and Review The Hardy Era Begins

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Results

Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Legacy
Eve Torres and Melina defeated Michelle McCool and Layla
Rey Mysterio & Finlay defeated Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox
The Great Khali vs Charlie Haas no contest?
Jeff Hardy defeated John Morrison

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/31/09 Review

Jeff Hardy opened the show, with the Belt and the crowd roaring. He just gave the traditional, I’m high on the belt speech. Lame.

Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Legacy

I still say that DH Smith is somewhat slow. Tyson Kidd is the speed of the team, and it showed, as he really took it to Shad in this match. In fact, JR even gave Kidd the nickname “Pitbull” that is usually reserved for Jamie Noble. It might not stick, but it was obvious that in his match, he was in top form against the former champions. JTG got tagged in, and it was actually getting good. Cryme Tyme looked like they were getting a second big push here in the WWE! After several near falls, Cryme Tyme got a #1 contender spot against the Champions at Summerslam. This match was fast paced, and not half bad.

Eve Torres and Melina defeated Michelle McCool and Layla

This math was hilarious. Your standard divas match, with the best wrestler nearly killing someone because they aren’t ready. Melina’s flippity floppy was interesting and took a lot of practice, I’m sure. That move was dang impressive. It was like a hurricanrana type flip into a pinning predicament? I don’t know, it was a weird move. I thought McCool’s team would win this one. But nope, upon the replay, it was simply a sunset flip over from a Widow’s peak position, not as impressive. This match wasn’t that great.

Rey Mysterio & Finlay defeated Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox

This match was given some good time, considering the people involved. Knox and Ziggler worked really well as a team, and remained impressive in this match. Finlay took some major damage in the second part of this match, meanwhile Rey Mysterio was patiently waiting a tag. The heels were in perfect form, during the course of this match, playing up everything to the fullest, creating a good overall match up, despite Knox and Finlay not being main eventers or even upper mid card these days. Mysterio got the hot tag and was thwarted by a waiting Dolph Ziggler, but eventually was tagged in the face with a big kick. Mysterio had this thing won, but Knox thwarted the pinfall, and it was Ziggler and Finlay in ring towards the end, but they weren’t both legal men in ring, Mysterio hit a nice roll up and pinned Ziggler! A nice turn about match with good spots, and overall great style, despite two low carders and two high mid carders; I liked this match.

The Great Khali vs Charlie Haas no contest?

Charlie Haas has to be on his way out too, he hasn’t won a match in a long time. This match went nowhere, Kane interfered, Khali left the ring, no announcement was made, and we went to commercial break.

Jeff Hardy defeated John Morrison

This match was free, that was odd to me. These two could really go, and they did. For about thirty minutes they were exchanging rough hits, high spots, and great points to prove that they are worth their weight in the main event. The crowd was roaring, and each man was definitely getting great reversals during this match up. When one man would go for a signature move, the other would duck, roll, or just get out of the way, this is the smartest wrestling I’ve seen since Dolph Ziggler and Rey Mysterio at the ppv. Morrison had this match sewn up several times, it looked like he was going to win this thing with so many moves. From the kicks, to the reverse springboard kick off the middle rope, he seemed poised to take the belt so early. Hardy kept going to the top rope, missing several times, but late in the match he hit the Swanton Bomb, with the crowd roaring he went for the pin and it was to no avail! Morrison managed to kick out, and this match had the crowd reeling. When Morrison went for The Starship Pain, Hardy put his knees up, derailing Morrison’s hopes and eventually got the pin with the Twist of Fate setting up the massive three count. Great match, and for free? Yep.

Post Match C.M. Punk came out to congratulate Hardy. He raised his hand, and then got on the mic. He started talking then hit him with the MIC in the head, then threw him out of the ring and went on a full blown attack! Yes this is rad, finally a heel that doesn’t give a damn! Punk just made a believer out of me, assaulting Hardy with reckless abandon! Seriously, this has been the best Heel fight I’ve seen in a long time. Punk simply beat the hell out of Hardy for no apparent reason other than he doesn’t like him and that’s the goal of wrestling to me. Create feuds out of hatred for each other, and not just because of someone stealing their wife or something lame like that. Hardy beat the hell out of Hardy, it was great, Punk reminded me of Steve Austin, no, Kevin Sullivan, no Chris Benoit from 1996…I don’t know, he was out there and just putting the boots to Hardy with no care for himself or his opponent. I loved this ending.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Results and Review Night of Champions Preview

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Results

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho
The Great Khali defeated Mike Knox
Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay via countout
Eve Torres defeated Natalya
R Truth defeated Charlie Haas
Rey Mysterio defeated CM Punk via disqualification

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Review

Jeff Hardy got on the mic and said some crap, I wasn’t paying attention, until Chris Jericho’s music hit and he came down. The two squared off in the opening bout.

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho started the match at full speed, but it was Jeff that kept turning things around, not letting Jericho have his way in this match at all and looking like a true champion. Jericho might have taken some hits, but he quickly turned this thing around, being the smarter technician in the ring. The two exchanged close calls, Hardy getting the most crowd involvement, but Jericho wasn’t letting him upstage him. Jericho had counters for a lot of great moments in this match, proving that Jericho should be the Champion that no one can top for a long time. He’s not having to cheat here, he simply has outsmarted Hardy at many moments. Hardy of course wasn’t giving up, so Jericho showed frustration, but given more time Jericho winning would not be too outlandish at all. Of course Jericho’s wit and quickness wasn’t to be the end all as Jericho pinned Jericho and gets the win. A good opening match, and good amount of wrestling for these two, great stuff here, if you missed it, check it out.

The Great Khali defeated Mike Knox

These two big men put on a match, it was passable as such, but nothing worth writing home about. Knox got some offense in with a distraction from Kane, who stood at the ramp watching, but it was Khali that put this one away with ease. Goodbye Mike Knox, and good riddance.

Dolph Ziggler now being walked out by none other than Maria, is not bad, not good either.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay via countout

Wow, I hadn’t remembered Finlay was still active in WWE until he showed up for this match with Dolph Ziggler. If this match had more time I think it would have been a lot better. Ziggler was not dominating, Finlay had this thing well in hand, until it spilled onto the floor where Ziggler was cunning and managed to injure Finlay long enough to get a countout win, and a negative reaction from the crowd.
CM Punk was preaching a straightedge sermon. While I admire straightedge and enjoy the music that came out of the straightedge inception, but in wrestling? As a villain? I don’t know. Punk is sincerely trying to be a villain here, but I can’t hate him for being the way he is…but must force myself to cheer Hardy…No, Must resist…Punk…Punk…Punk.

Hardy came out and Punk left. That made the fans chant Hardy all the more. I didn’t.

Eve Torres defeated Natalya

Natalya was the obvious veteran, Eve was not timing things well and was taking a lot of punishment in ring. I said all that, but somehow, somewhere by some miracle Eve landed a moonsault! Natalya’s Surfboard was epic though, too little though, as Eve hit a moonsault that nearly broke her ankles, and Natalya loses….not sure why.

R Truth defeated Charlie Haas

R Truth came out to nice fan fare, which is much appreciated, I’m sure. He would have to contend with Charlie Haas. Let’s face it, even if Haas threw up the most impressive match ever, it wouldn’t matter because R Truth is going over these days. This match had a good flow, a little back and forth, but right when Haas seemed like he had things going, he lost with Truth going over after a nice Scissor kick, to rival Booker T in his prime. What’s up?!

Rey Mysterio defeated CM Punk via disqualification

These two put on a halfway decent match, with neither one getting the upper hand more so than the other. The equalizer from Punk was throwing Rey Mysterio into a ring post, and of course the WWE cut to commercial. This match had some real flow to it, but the commercial really took me out of the action. Punk hit a sweet tilt o world back breaker that was picture perfect, well placed onto Mysterio’s back. The champ really had Mysterio floored after that, and was working over Mysterio’s arm, a move that many people have focused on in the past. (I recall Dean Malenko’s top priority was Mysterio’s arm in his matches against Rey Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Belt in WCW) Dolph Ziggler showed up to watch the match at ringside, which I knew would play out later on in this match up. Mysterio hit a nice spring board press, but Ziggler decided to jump on the apron, and Punk capitalized with a nice heel kick, only for a two count, and this thing was ready to fall off the rails. Mysterio’s face got plastered with a knee to the face in the corner, and Punk was struggling to get this thing put away, but wasn’t able to get things done fast. Mysterio telegraphed a launch off the ropes and was in GTS position, only to counter and set up the 619! He then hit the splash and this match was over! But Ziggler ran in to break things up, and the match was thrown out…Mysterio wins!

Post match Ziggler gave Mysterio a major beating. Jeff hardy ran down to save Mysterio but that prompted CM Punk to chase down Hardy and hit a GTS to put a final exclamation point on the night!

This night of wrestling wasn’t half bad. I liked it. It had a few moments where I was starting to give up, like the Khali match. However, the opening and closing of the show was worth it. Jericho, Punk, Hardy and Mysterio are doing their thing and I don’t mind it that much. You might disagree though.

Cody Rhodes defeated Primo Colon
Randy Orton vs Triple H ended in a draw under Last Man Standing Rules
The Bella Twins defeated Maryse, Beth Phoenix, and Rosa Mendes
Big Show defeated John Cena

WWE Monday Night Raw 6/22/09 Review

I heard yesterday that Triple H has been in the last 13 out of 16 wwe title matches. Funny huh? Well let’s keep that in mind, as we go commercial free.

Trump was out first and said he was going to refund everyone. Cena came out and got some cheap pops with all new information. Cena called out the Miz and The Miz came down and ranted as usual. Cena had some choice words for Miz and the two will supposedly face off at the ppv this weekend. If the WWE are trying to get Miz over, Miz has to win this weekend. He stood up to Cena and hit him then ran away! We’ll see how it all works out. Miz should win by cheating, and this thing could boil over, otherwise The Miz is going to get pwned this weekend and get back down to the curtain jerker scene with the rest of the jobbers and random idiots.

McMahon had some random interaction from earlier, which is lame. He was outside of the arena and he was stuck. Things got better when McMahon jumped on some poor dudes back and then kicked him in the butt! That was comedy!

No Commercials huh? ENTER the KFC Grilled Chicken Bucket and funny comments! Yep. Product placement, what a load of crap!

Before this match there were product placements, ads and mini-commercials from Jim Ross! He even said the KFC looked great. Come on JR this is KFC not JR’s BBQ! Lame.

Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali, and Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, and Edge

Khali had this match in completely control. He threw out all the opposite side, and that prompted Jeff Hardy to go flying out of the ring, then prompted Rey Mysterio to jump off of Khali’s shoulders onto the outside! Two great high spots indeed! This match was nothing more than spot fest, with no major psychology, it just was run in after run in, the referee not dq’ing anyone. Mysterio hit the 619 and then a picture perfect Moonsault onto the outside. Ziggler was left with Hardy in ring, and after The Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb, this thing was all over! No sign of Matt Hardy though. This was entertaining, nothing more, nothing less.

Let the demonization of Punk begin! The announcers were talking smack about how CM Punk loved to hog the spotlight and that he’s trying to 1up Jeff Hardy. Lame. You don’t need the announce team trying to turn Punk heel. Hardy is somewhat tired.

Backstage Santina met Vince McMahon in a nice piece of comedy.

Cody Rhodes defeated Primo Colon

In a little preview for this weekend, the two younger members of the tag team division fought each other. Primo is picture perfect and Cody needs help carrying a match up. The match was fast paced and didn’t last too long, after a nice 180 Cross Body block Cody Rhodes got a pin while hooking the tights! Not a terrible match, but not necessarily that great either. Primo is great, Cody can’t really justify his spot yet.

Another promo happened in the back with Goldust, Hornswoggle and Vinnie Mac, great stuff.

Randy Orton vs Triple H ended in a draw under Last Man Standing Rules

This match was insane…in how slow it was. No, I understand, I understand….the match was somewhat of a ppv caliber match up. Orton was favoring his shoulder midway through this match, and it looked like he was legit hurt at one point. Nothing like when he was nearly killed by Kennedy (which I don’t understand after seeing the footage). The announce table was taking a beating, and for once, wasn’t breaking like the old breakaway tables, and things weren’t looking good for the champion as Triple H was definitely getting some major shots in. It’s hard to hold down the roster when you’re not the champion, so Triple H was in desperation train at this moment. (Nice Death by Stereo reference huh?) The match spilled to the stage area and ladders got involved. Randy Orton continued to sweep Triple H’s leg, including hitting him with a ladder and enclosing his knee in the rungs.

One must wonder where’s the stables of the early 90’s? Had this match taken place in the early 90’s, Triple H could call on the Dungeon of Doom. Could you imagine Shark, Zodiac, Kevin Sullivan and others coming down to help Triple H keep his title? That would be so cool, we needed that right in this match as it bored me after a while. I kept day dreaming for someone to come down and help. Like Raven’s Flock. Remember when Raven fought DDP at Spring Stampede? He had like 80 people come down so that he could win the U.S Title, only to lose it the next night to Goldberg…which was lame.

Triple H was taking a major beating at this point, and Orton was trying to hit an RKO off the Ladder, but it wasn’t meant to be. Triple H hit a pedigree on the steel entrance ramp, and it was time again to count to 10.

Both men were counted out…and so Randy Orton still is the champ going into the ppv? I hate Last Man Standing matches.

McMahon bought back raw.

McMahon immediately went backstage and told Orton that he was still wrestling Triple H at the Bash. In a 2 out of 3 falls match….in 3 stages of Hell match! I hate these too.

The Bella Twins defeated Maryse, Beth Phoenix, and Rosa Mendes

The divas match was your standard women’s match up from the WWE. Four out of the six women aren’t very good at wrestling. They look good though, but that’s not what I want out of my pro-wrestlers…nevermind, divas rock wooo! Mickie James won after an insane super kick to the face on Mendes. It was a great move, but that’s not enough to carry a match.

Big Show defeated John Cena

Talk about repetition, we get Cena and Big show again. This match wasn’t that great, it was the traditional big man vs Cena match. If you saw the last time they met, this was the same basic premise to the move set. In a role reversal though, Big Show gets the win this time, and it’s about time!

Post match The Miz came to pick the scraps left by The Big Show.

That’s it folks. Raw wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t that good either.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Results and Review Pretaped Madness

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Results

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho via countout
Dolph Ziggler defeated The great Khali via disqualification
Melina defeated Alicia Fox
Edge defeated John Morrison
R Truth and Cryme Tyme defeated Ricky Ortiz, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin
Cm Punk defeated Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Review

The show opened up with an in ring segment with Jeff Hardy. This is lame, Hardy can’t talk on the mic and it was painfully obvious here in this interview. CM Punk was called in to the interview table, and started to talk about how he’s getting blamed for no apparent reason.

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho via countout

In the front row sat several people in Rey Mysterio masks on. This would come into play later in the match. This match had Jericho controlling the majority of the flow, hitting major spots, and forcing Hardy to win this match with ease, but not until Rey Mysterio hit a nice leg toss from the security railing onto Jericho! But there were 5 people, was it Mysterio? Wasn’t it? Smackdown finally gets some smart writing here. You had to see it, it’s clever, very clever, like when they had 25 stings come down from the rafters at Halloween Havoc 1997. I think it was 1997. This caused Chris Jericho to get counted out and it was all over.

Dolph Ziggler defeated The great Khali via disqualification

Once again the Great Khali fights Ziggler…I’m so tired of seeing these guys wrestle. But I stand by my words that state that Dolph Ziggler has vastly improved since the he first showed up as the Ziggler character. He actually has some great athleticism. Ziggler through a chair at Khali when his back was turned, Khali punched the chair, and Ziggler played dead like Eddie Guerrero used to do. The ref disqualified him and Ziggler wins again. I wasn’t completely bored with this one, although some of you might be.

Melina defeated Alicia Fox

Alicia Fox didn’t stand a chance in this match. It was short and not sweet, Melina sucks and barely carried this match at all. Post match Michelle McCool attacked Melina and I for one was cheering. I am not a big fan of the divas but Michelle McCool is showing some serious intensity, which is cool. She sucks on the mic though, but she has some intensity. Too bad the Knockouts division in TNA is still way better.

Edge defeated John Morrison

The verbal sparring between these two was good. Morrison is gaining ground and if he keeps it up, he might take some face time in the main event away from Hardy, since Hardy is leaving…so I hear. This match was a slow moving match up with not too much to write about, and it seemed that these two were somewhat evenly matched. Edge took some chances in this match and it may have cost him as Morrison was able to get some great offense in as a result. However, Edge also countered as he was the veteran in this match up, but it turned out to be a nice back and forth affair between the two. The second half of this match really went well, Edge looked like he had this thing in the bag but Morrison was able to counter the spear by jumping over edge then hitting a nice spin kick, but it wasn’t enough to put away Edge. Morrison went for the Moonlight Pain but missed and Edge hit a thunderous spear and boom….Morrison was out and it was over.

R Truth and Cryme Tyme defeated Ricky Ortiz, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin

This was just a throwaway match up with poorly constructed spots. It was a terrible match up of sorts, and had a lot of spots but it was fast. It was just a random mash up of guys and of course you knew who was going to win. It wasn’t the world’s greatest jobbers that’s for sure.

A mask vs belt match was announced for the bash ppv.

Cm Punk defeated Rey Mysterio

Mysterio started this match with lots of kicks to CM Punk’s leg. Mysterio however put his guard down a little and Punk was able to turn things more his way, if only for a few moments until Mysterio started hitting more kicks. Punk was favoring his leg as we went into a commercial break. After the break the two competitors were doing quite well, neither one truly had an upper hand at all. Punk was still favoring his leg as he was swept into the 619 position but was able to avoid it but Mysterio pulled a sweet reversal into a pin and a near fall, creating a lot of interest from the crowd at this point. Jericho attacked Rey Mysterio during a point on the outside, and Mysterio was getting counted out swiftly, while Punk was inside, but to no avail for Jericho as Mysterio got back inside and was immediately hit with the GTS and it was all over. CM Punk’s GTS plus Jericho’s interference cost Mysterio this match up. A good overall match up.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/29/09 Results

Khali and R Truth defeated Dolph Ziggler and Mike Knox
Melina defeated Alicia Fox
John Morrison defeated Umaga via disqualification
Edge & Chris Jericho defeated Jeff hardy
Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas defeated Cryme Tyme
Eve defeated Layla

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/29/09 Review

The show starts right away with Rey Mysterio coming down, so this was interesting. Especially when Chris Jericho came out to the ring, and then there was Mickey Rourke at ring side! Jericho is amazing on the mic, hands down the best mic work in WWE right now. No one can even come close, too bad he doesn’t win matches. The segment turned into a small brawl with Jericho running away like a true coward, and Mysterio looking strong heading into Extreme rules. Not bad, but not necessarily the best either. I like how they are pushing it, but something tells me that Mysterio’s mask is going to be on the line down the road and he’s going to lose it.

Khali and R Truth defeated Dolph Ziggler and Mike Knox

This match was ok at best. It just seemed like a throwaway match to get some Khali love from the fans. Ziggler was basically a coward and ran off, leaving Khali to dismantle the “monster” Mike Knox. Knox doesn’t look that good when he’s getting trampled by Khali, who also gets the win for his team.

Melina defeated Alicia Fox

This match was lame. It had a few ok moves at best, but Fox just looked green and Melina was just going through the motions. This match was terrible, and I guess it was for the title? I don’t know, it was stupid; if you liked it, you’re dumb.

Jeff Hardy cut one of the worst promos in WWE history. This was terrible, and well…made me want to go to sleep.

John Morrison defeated Umaga via disqualification

I wasn’t sure how far the WWE would go with this match up. John Morrison seemed to be in full control of this match, but if he defeated Umaga, how would it look as he goes into fight CM Punk? So I wasn’t sure if Morrison had what it took to put away Umaga. He was pleading a good case, putting all he had into Umaga’s face…until the fade away Samoan Drop turned things around. This match did have a good back and forth motion and for once we got treated to a good match on free television. Then Umaga loses cause he uses he leather strap…what a load of crap. I guess Umaga isn’t as big of a monster as before cause now he’s resorting to cowardly DQ methods out of frustration. He couldn’t put away Morrison, so great…Morrison remains face and Umaga doesn’t get pinned. Whatever…wasting my time never looked so good, I must admit that.

Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas defeated Cryme Tyme

Way to go wwe! Let’s trash the legit tag teams! Haas and Benjamin, arguably two of the latest string of jobbers in the wwe got a win over Cryme Tyme. I read online that Cryme Tyme isn’t going to last much longer since one of them isn’t improving very well. Good riddance if you ask me. The match was ok at best, but this was just a throwaway match with no major implications other than to ruin Cryme Tyme’s rep.

Eve defeated Layla

A second divas match? At this point I was so fed up that I didn’t even care any longer. This match was terrible, these two can’t wrestle, they don’t have any charisma, and it made me wish for Victoria to come back, but she has joined the dark side!

Edge & Chris Jericho defeated Jeff hardy

Mysterio got gut checked by Jericho prior to the match, therefore this was a handicap match. This once again fuels the rumors that Mysterio is not at 100% right now and he is injured. This makes a lot of sense, since word on the street is that he’s dropping the belt and maybe the mask to Jericho in the near future. Remember when Jericho forced Juventud to lose his mask? That 1998 Cruiserweight title run was stellar, and back then Jericho defeated Mysterio yet again, I’ll see if I can get the video…anyways this match had a lot of high spots. Hardy was letting it all hang out for free, he was jumping and flying but it wasn’t enough to defeat the two heels in this match up and was eventually a victim of the numbers game. I liked how this ended, however, I just felt that the show wasn’t all that good.

Smackdown used to be a spot where you could watch a ton of wrestling, but really, you’re not getting a whole lot of quality in this show. It used to be more so, now I don’t know what they are doing, trying to make it Raw lite?

I would have much rather seen more continuation of stories, with pure wrestling and respect. I guess Smackdown is trying to play it safe since Extreme Rules needs their wrestlers to be somewhat in good condition.

So here is the second part of a WCW Souled Out 98 match between Rey Mysterio Jr and Chris Jericho for the Cruiserweight Title:

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/13/09 Review

The show opened up with Batista, talking about how he wants revenge for the punt that caused Batista to be out for a while, 4 months ago. Batista called out Randy Orton and was ready to come out and chase down Randy Orton. However, Shane McMahon showed up to ringside to talk a little strategy with Batista. Triple H showed up and said that Randy Orton was his. Vickie Guerrero showed up, in a wheelchair, and she said that at Backlash the team will have their revenge match. Guerrero made a match for later, where the winner will either get a shot at Orton or no one will face Orton. That was that. Not exactly the most stellar of beginnings to Raw, but I had not choice but to enjoy it.

Rey Mysterio defeated Evan Bourne

They keep giving away this match for free. I believe that this is the second time We’ve seen this match up. This time around it seemed like Evan Bourne was grounding Mysterio for a good portion of the match, with rest holds and quick combat, that seemed to have the veteran a little distracted. Right when I thought that Evan Bourne would get the rub, he lost to Rey Mysterio with some quick moves and the splash. Rey Mysterio wins an easy one here.

Kane defeated The Brian Kendrick

Kane hasn’t had a good push in a long time. Kendrick has been on a losing streak lately, so I wasn’t sure which side to go for in this match up. Kane squashed The Brian Kendrick and that was that.

Michelle McCool, Maryse, and Natalya defeated Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Melina

This match started with a huge melee. This match technically didn’t even start until the bell run and Mickie James got tore up initially. That was an interesting power move from Michelle McCool, dropping Mickie James to her knees with what seemed to be a very stiff shot. Mickie James was doing well in there, and I finally gave her some credit, cause she was making things interesting for the first time in WWE Divas history. Mickie James knocked herself out with a top rope miss, and Michelle McCool capitalized, winning this match up without anyone else joining the match! What a load of crap. The best start to a divas match ends with a terrible copout of an ending.

John Cena defeated Jack Swagger

Did you really think that Jack Swagger would defeat Cena? I sure didn’t, so the illusion was taken away for me in this match up. I remember in the 80’s when people in the undercard and other champions had legitimate chances at defeating the champion. While the illusion was attempted here, you just knew that the bastard ECW champion wouldn’t defeat John Cena. Cena hit his chorus of finishing moves, much to the approval of the audience and of course, the inevitable. WRONG! Swagger got out of Cena’s finisher and shoved Cena into the ring post, shoulder first. For a few moments, I thought it was over, but nope…The Attitude Adjustment hit and then the STFU! Swagger tapped immediately, and another champion squashed. John Cena wins via submission.

At this point in the night, the drafts have favored Raw completely. Are they going to end Smackdown? It sure seems this way, because Raw is getting all the main eventers. As soon as Triple H was announced to be drafted, Edge came and attacked John Cena from behind. I still think that Smackdown is getting the weaker show at this point.

The Great Khali defeated Santino

This one was odd. If Santino lost this match he would have to kiss Khali on the Khali kiss cam. Santino was squashed easily, he got worked and it wasn’t even close. I personally am tired of Santino not getting a fair shake at wrestling, but he’s still funny, so we’ll let it pass.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz

I recall saying that Kofi Kingston was going to be the next big thing. It turns out that he’s not getting the fair shake that I thought he would. Kofi and The Miz went back and forth in this match up, with Kofi looking like he might be defeated at several times in this match up, however he connected with some great shots, to make this one interesting. The Miz had a few counters in this match up and I’m completely surprised at how far he’s come along since first coming into the WWE as a Reality Show reject. The match ended fast with a few counters and near falls and it was all over. Kofi got the win.

Edge won a inter-brand Battle Royal

This match was your standard Battle Royal. Nothing too crazy to report here. Edge won with a clever move of dropping the top rope while Big Show ran to him and was thrown out. Like I said, nothing too crazy here.

Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin

The Killswitch was heard round the world as Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin. I thought for sure Christian was going to win the belt when he returned but alas, he’s still in midcard hell for the most part. This match was a quick one, mostly burying Benjamin yet again. Christian though, deserves so much more upon his return, but oh well.

Matt Hardy defeated CM Punk via Disqualification

Hardy and CM Punk have faced each other before, and the two work well together. I like the way these two put good matches together, if they are given enough time. However, this match wasn’t given time as Jeff Hardy ran down and fought off Matt Hardy. Jeff was ready to pounce on Matt from the top rope but Matt ran away. CM Punk was left in the ring. Matt Hardy won this one, but only by DQ.

Chris Jericho defeated Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer has been a hard worker for WWE for a long time. However, he hasn’t gotten a fair shake in a long time. Maybe it is because he’s an ECW original, and the only original left on that brand that was really a main factor in the original incarnation from the East Coast. Now with Taz gone, it’s no wonder that the ECW brand looks to be on the chopping block yet again. Jericho was putting on a nice show here, allowing Dreamer very little opportunities to get in good action. Dreamer did put on a good fight, but as he came off the top rope, Jericho hit the Codebreaker in mid air! It was curtains for Tommy Dreamer.

Triple H, Shane McMahon, and Batista defeated Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase Jr.

You got your standard six man tag team match here. Nothing too crazy until Triple H tagged himself into the match by slapping Batista. Shane McMahon speared Batista out of the blue! Triple H hit the Pedigree, and this match was odd. He will face Randy Orton next week solo, but Batista was taken out as collateral or intentional damage! Batista was not happy at this, and maybe this will turn Batista Heel or maybe Triple H will turn Heel, I don't know. This was a weird way to end Raw.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/10/09 Results and Review Right After Wrestlemania

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/10/09 Results

The Big Show defeated Kofi Kingston
The Great Khali defeated Santino
Gail Kim defeated Michelle McCool
Priceless defeated The Colons Non Title Match
Matt Hardy defeated Jeff Hardy in a Stretcher Match

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/10/09 Review

The first Smackdown opened up with Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy into a scuffle, ending with Matt Running away like a punk. Teddy Long came out and said that tonight there would be a stretcher match between the brothers Hardy.

The Big Show defeated Kofi Kingston

Once again, proof that the WWE doesn’t need a draft or roster shake up. Kofi is on Smackdown fighting Big Show, and Show was hurting Kofi with huge right hands, and really showing off his size. Kofi got some great shots in, but overall it wasn’t enough to get the Big show down and it was Big Show who came on top. Show hit kofi with that hard right hand and it was all over.

Proving yet again that the WWE does not need a roster split, Santino was introduced.

The Great Khali defeated Santino

Santino got dismantled in 20 seconds. Santino is funny, but man, I wish they would let him wrestle. Khali wanted to kiss Santino’s “sister” and it didn’t happen, so he beat up Santino and won the match. Lame squash match up.

Gail Kim defeated Michelle McCool

This match was not half bad. McCool is not that great of a wrestler at all, and it showed here. Gail Kim could carry this match if McCool were way better, but instead Kim was taking some major shots and doing a lot of bumping. She ended up winning with a quick counter, and she’s on the way to getting a title shot, I’m sure.

The Cutting Edge returned and the guest was John Cena. It was sad, and it sucked. Edge, from what I read online, is nursing an injury right now so he probably won’t win the title. Cena needs to turn heel like the world depends on it.

Priceless defeated The Colons

Once again, NO NEED FOR A DRAFT! The two teams in this match up were on different brands, and they fought each other quite well. This match seemed evenly matched, considering that these teams haven’t wrestled each other on television before. The Legacy team was fighting hard and ended up winning this match, somewhat easier than I thought they would. The teams did put on a good overall lengthy tag team match and I liked it for the most part. I didn’t like the post match, and I didn’t like that Randy Orton was there to raise the hands of his team mates. It’s stupid to think that there is a draft coming up and yet no one abides by the separations.

Matt Hardy defeated Jeff Hardy in a Stretcher Match

The Hardy Brothers fought in a nice Stretcher match. Matt hardy had all new tights, which were lame. They were skin tight and lame. The match was quite brutal and Jeff was getting worked most of the match up, even though he did throwdown some interesting hits before it was all said and done. The overall match up ended with Matt Hardy getting the hard fought win, and this match failed to impress me. It had some good moments, but it was just your average Hardy match up. Nothing too great here.

WWE Smackdown 1/30/09 Review and Results Why Matt Why

First and foremost I want to apologize to those very few people that came to this site looking for a TNA Impact review. I have family in town and couldn’t get the review done. However, I am back with he first Smackdown after the Royal Rumble right here.

The show opens up with Matt Hardy in ring…to a chorus of BOOOs. I’d boo the crap out of him too, such a terrible turn of events. Hardy says that Jeff is no longer his brother.

Whatever.

R Truth defeated The Kendrick

Brian Kendrick gave Truth a good cheap shot up front, but didn’t win overall. The match was short but not good at all. It was actually just like the last time they fought, only this time Ezekiel Jackson was barred from ringside, so no one cheap shotted him after the match. Standard match for Truth, and Kendrick loses yet again.

MVP defeated Chavo Guerrero

I thought Chavo had this match sewn up with the Frog Splash, but somehow MVP managed to move out of the way in time to get a win! That’s right, MVP wins again! Chavo landed on his stomach and face, and lost yet again.

Umaga defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Yang is still employed? What the hell? This is the worst match ever. Umaga wins, did you really think anything else would happen? This sucks.

The Undertaker defeated Mark Henry

Standard Undertaker, Mark Henry match. Seriously, how many times did we see this match in recent years? Well, Mark Henry fought off the Undertaker for the most part and Undertaker got mad and started beating Mark Henry and eventually made him tap out to the triangle choke hold.

The Big Show defeated Festus

The Big Show beat up Festus in a quick match up, yet again.

Triple H defeated The Great Khali, and Kozlov

Triple H beat the other two guys. I got tired and nearly fell asleep. Nice to see that Triple H is still holding down the roster.

WWE Smackdown 1/23/09 Results and Review Who Burned Hardy Edition

The show opens up with Edge in the ring saying that he wasn’t the one to blame! He wants everyone to know that Jeff Hardy shouldn’t have an excuse to lose, and that prompted Matt Hardy to run to the ring and charge! He chased Edge right outside the ring and through the crowd, the show cut to commercial.

Good opening, I like where this is going.

The Undertaker defeated Shelton Benjamin

This match was all Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin was fighting with everything he had, and Undertaker was just taking punishment left and right. We’re talking superplexes, ddt reversals, big high spots, and everything that was in the Benjamin arsenal was thrown at Undertaker, and it just wasn’t enough. Benjamin got locked up in a triangle choke hold and had no choice but to tap out! He tapped out and it was all over.

The Great Khali defeated Chavo Guerrero

Did anyone think that Chavo Guerrero had a chance in this match? I didn’t. Chavo Guerrero got totally annihilated in this match up. He got worked bad, and Khali dropped him on the back of his head with the Punjabi Plunge, and won the match clean. Chavo is really not that great any longer.

The Bella Twins vs. Michelle McCool & Natalya No Contest

This match was odd. Maria jumped down the ramp and fought off McCool for a sec. The match got thrown out. I didn’t really know what happened, and it was lame. A waste of time.

Jeff Hardy was interviewed by Jim Ross, and Jeff blames Edge for everything that has been happening. Edge claims he didn’t do it, we’ll see where this ends up.

Edge defeated Matt Hardy in a No DQ match

This match was actually really cool. It was a no disqualification match up and it turned out to be quite the match. The two wrestlers were throwing everything at each other, and it was great. We saw chairs, trash cans, and even a kendo stick used in this hard, heavy hitting match up. Edge was on his way to another loss at the hands of Matt Hardy, but out came Mark Henry! Henry was taken down by Matt Hardy, but after hitting the twist of fate on Edge, Matt Hardy was attacked by Jack Swagger! Hardy got dismantled very hard, by Mark Henry and Jack Swagger; prompting Edge to spear Hardy and win the match up! Matt Hardy loses a very hard fought match up.

The Miz & John Morrison defeated The Colon Brothers

We get a good tag team match for a change. However, I’m still not sure what brand Miz and Morrison is on. They are on every television show that the wwe produces, which is making me question some things over at Titan towers. The overall interest in this match was waning after the commercial, but it was a longer match than I’m used to out of the wwe. The Colon Brothers were good early on, throwing down some great tag team moves, and creating a nightmare for Miz and Morrison. However, after the hot tag to Carlito, things turned around as Carlito was showing that he can throwdown some great offense if you give him a chance. He is just so on, so fast, and perfect in the ring. His quick moves against Morrison were just amazing for a change. It wasn’t the longest set of moves, but it was just good overall. The Colon Brothers are just great, too bad they aren’t getting more competition in the tag division. I thought this thing was over after a spring board kick from Morrison to the head of Carlito, but Primo saved him! Then this thing went into near fall zone, as they kept going back and forth trying to heat the victory, but it just wasn’t going to end that way. Carlito hit the backstabber, but Miz tagged in blindly, and rolled up Carlito while he wasn’t looking for the pin! The Miz and Morrison win another match, and they are on a huge winning streak for being the World Tag team Champions. Finally, the tag division looks as good as it did when I was growing up in the 80’s.

Kozlov was scheduled to wrestle Triple H however, Vickie Guerrero decided she wanted to make this mach a handicap match and included The Big Show.

Kozlov & Big Show defeated Triple H

There’s not a whole lot to this match. Triple H was doing ok for a little while, but fighting off these two monsters proved to be way too much for The game.

WWE Smackdown 1/2/09 Results and Review

That’s right we’re in a new year and all things are great for WWE, we start the show with Triple H and Vickie Guerrero!

Finlay and The Great Khali defeated Hawkins and Ryder

This match was jobber central. The Great Khali and Finlay cleaned house with ease. It’s funny to see that the former champions are getting screwed over. Why do they even still work for wwe? It just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Ezekiel & The Brian Kendrick defeated Jesse and Festus

This match was interesting to say he least. Jesse was on the receiving end of punishment from Ezekiel, causing the win. Overall this match was ok overall, but nothing special here. Just another jobber match, but you know what? It really made Ezekiel and Kendrick look awesome. I still think that Kendrick should get a chance at a singles title instead of once again getting a tag team title match or something with Ezekiel.

Kozlov defeated Hurricane Helms

I can not believe how bad things are getting with Helms. Last week Helms was battling for a title, this week? He was getting squashed in a match. I guess Helms is just like D-Lo Brown, he comes back gets a push and then just gets squashed by Kozlov. What a boring match, this match sucked, I’ll be honest. I like Kozlov but he’s just bulldozing everyone, and he doesn’t have the charisma that Bill Goldberg had in WCW when he had his streak going. Lame.

A couple of promos:

Jim Ross was announcing the participants in the rumble, only to have Shelton Benjamin come out and interrupt. That prompted the Undertaker to come out and beat him up! Big pop for the Undertaker during this segment, and he didn’t even get too sweaty. Good paycheck for the dead man.

Michelle McCool beat the crap out of this other diva. McCool is crazy, and she looks insane when she’s beating people up. I am genuinely scared for the Undertaker, who I hear likes her or something. (this is just a rumor that I overheard)

Kizarny defeated MVP

MVP is just a loser now. I don’t know where they are going with him at all, he’s once again jobbing out. Kizarny makes his debut, and it was not impressive at all. This was not a great debut at all. Kizarny was no impressive at all, and I’m not sure how long he is going to last in today’s fast paced world of wwe. We’ll see what they do with him, and if HHH will hold him down the roster.

The Hardy Boys defeated Edge & The Big Show

Your standard Hardy boys match up here. Edge and Big Show did work well together for the most part, and they had a good amount of fast tags and made things hard for the Hardys on several occasions in this match up. The Big Show walked out on Edge towards the end of this match and the Hardy’s took advantage. They basically decimated Edge and this match was all over too fast. Edge got worked, and man that was exciting. Edge just had no chance against these two high flyers. Great ending to an otherwise lackluster night of wrestling.

WWE Smackdown 12/26/08 Review and Results

The day after Christmas the WWE aired this edition of Smackdown and I was half asleep at first, but woke up enough to review what was going down, and this is how it went down.

Triple H defeated Chavo Guerrero

Chavo can never catch a break. It’s sad to note that this once again features Chavo getting owned by Triple H. Triple H won this match in an easy manner. He dissected Chavo into little pieces and just beat him, even with a valiant effort to revive the classic Guerrero chair distraction routine, it just wasn’t meant to be for the little guy and Triple H beat him easily. Chavo Guerrero is nothing but a jobber, and that’s a sad state to be in.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Shane Helms

I didn’t know how to call this match. The match was cool but Huricane seemed to be a little too over zealous in many ways and I didn’t trust that he was completely out of his ring rust. He went in there and really put the boots to Shelton Benjamin and it looked like the title was going to change hands tonight as Helms had the crowd behind him and was giving Shelton everything but the kitchen sink in terms of wrestling maneuvers. He even took to the air and was letting caution go to the wind in this match up, really forcing Shelton to try and combat things and defend his title forth right. Helms hit the Shining Wizard and I thought for sure this was over, but Benjamin still managed to kick out and take control. Things changed in the match when Shelton hit the Pay Dirt and it was over. Shelton Benjamin retains his title in this good title defense.

Carlito defeated The Brian Kendrick

What a fast paced match up! I was rooting for The Kendrick, but Carlito was too much for him this time. Carlito hit a bunch of good spots, including his back elbow which came across quite nicely. The Kendrick was going for his finisher but was countered into the back stabber and this match was over fast! Wow, fast match, and not that good, but The Kendrick loses in this match up, interesting to see where they are going with this.

Maryse defeated Michelle McCool (Maria was the special guest referee)

This match was very awkward in a lot of ways. The match didn’t really go that well, and overall it wasn’t that good of match. It really bored the crowd and myself with really lame moves, and the only real chemistry that existed was between Maria and McCool who are obviously going to start feuding in the near future. Maryse took the title from Mccool in this match up, and after winning walked away. Post match though, McCool beat the crap out of Maria for counting the three, and this bored me too, so who cares right? Yeah.

The Great Khali defeated MVP

It’s been a long time since MVP got a fair chance to win. He’s going out there and losing and there’s nothing he can do but just get paid. I guess it’s nice to be on the losing end, and still get a pay check, but this is getting ridiculous. MVP got killed, despite hitting his drive by kick. Khali has new music and looked good out there, no kiss cam, just straight business, this match was short and swift. Post match, Kennedy came out to do his, well, whatever it is he does out there for no apparent reason.

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

I didn’t even know that Yang was still employed by the wwe. It’s sad to see a once promising cruiserweight get dismantled in such an easy fashion. It’s funny to me to see Kozlov out there fighting some random jobber. I hope that Kozlov gets the title sooner than later, so at least I can see some good matches or defenses or attempts. So far this monster gimmick isn’t working out, I mean he’s wrestling Jimmy Wang Yang? Come on man, come on!

Jeff hardy defeated The Big Show via countout

The Big Show dominated the majority of this match. I hate when the champion looks bad, and this really made Jeff Hardy look bad. He didn’t get any offense early on, and Show really proved that he was way bigger and badder than the newly crowned champion. Jeff Hardy was wrestling a very slow, steady match, unlike his previous endeavors. I’m not sure why this match was booked the way it was, but this match was boring for the most part. Big Show really did put a hurting on Jeff Hardy, and Show looked poised to win this match. The Big Show kicking out of the swanton really made me wonder why the wwe feels it necessary to bury the champion. Hardy did manage to fight his way back into this match up, but the damage to his credibility was already done. After a dominating match up featuring the Big Show, Hardy managed to get Big Show counted out for the victory. What a lame match, this was upsetting to me. I wanted to go to bed, I should have.

WWE Smackdown 12/12/08 the one before Armageddon

The show kicks off with Jeff Hardy attacking Triple H! They are brawling and Chavo is sent to stop them from fighting, but Triple H knocks him out and Hardy and Triple H are brawling like crazy, and no one is stopping them, but then the ref’s come in to try and break them up.

R Truth defeated MVP

MVP has really been on someone’s bad side because he hasn’t gotten a break in a long long time. This match went by somewhat slower than I wished, as the crowd was really taken out of this one, but on the flipside, MVP was looking more like a serious wrestler, using wear down holds on R Truth to make sure his offense wasn’t too much. But R Truth managed to win this one with a roll up, proving once again that MVP pissed off the wrong person. MVP got on the mic after the match and that prompted Mr. Kennedy to come out and cut a program, weird.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Primo Colon

This match was interesting, two young guns wrestling because Kendrick and Ezekiel beat the brothers Colon once, and now they caught Kendrick hitting on the twins backstage. Primo is a good fit in this match as he counters Kendrick’s style quite nicely. Kendrick is great as the cocky heel and he play it up so well. Kendrick really took some punishment in this match at the hands of Primo, and things were looking like it was all Primo, but of course Ezekiel couldn’t help but get involved, causing a distraction and a kick later Primo loses to Kendrick. The kid is great, Kendrick wins again!

Hurricane Helms defeated Shelton Benjamin

The U.S Champion Shelton Benjamin really had his hands full with the returning Helms, and I was worried that they were just going to bury Helms now that he’s back. Benjamin really focused on Helm’s neck. A great shot was Benjamin hitting a dropkick while Helms was in mid air! Helms landed on his neck then a short dropkick sent him neck first into the ringside guard rail, and Benjamin continued his attack on the formerly injured neck of Helms. The rest of the match was a comeback attempt by Helms, and after Benjamin missed his jump on to the third rope, Helms hit a very weak cross body block and go the pin! Helms once again wins on wwe television, and he’s doing well since coming back. I like him, I admit it.

The Great Khali defeated Hawkins and Ryder

This was a throwaway handicap match. Ryder and Hawkins basically got killed by Khali, and that’s all I can and will say about this match.

The Bella Twins defeated Maryse & Natalya

I’m a sucker for Maryse, she’s kind of hot. I don’t know what it is about her, but she looks hot to me. So this match got a little more attention than usual. She’s not THAT good of a wrestler and Natalya isn’t that hot to me, but the heel side of this equation was way better than the face’s. The twins basically got beat for the most part, and Maryse did a lot of damage with the camel clutch, meanwhile Natalya landed a lot of power moves. The twins won this match, which was weird, considering they had no offense in this match up. I liked Maryse, that’s about it.

Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy (no contest)

I wasn’t sure who was going to win this match up at all. The match was about as good as you’re going to get from these two. These guys put on a ppv caliber match, which is great considering that Triple H has been known not to work as many dates as some other champions. However, he’s chasing the title, so maybe that’s why he’s wrestling so much on free television. Jeff Hardy is a machine and he was just going through and through with Triple H, Triple H was looking tired towards the end of this match up, but I liked it more than usual. Jeff Hardy hit the Whisper in the Wind, and I thought it was over, but Hardy didn’t get the cover right away, therefore Triple H kicked out and this match was getting really good, the crowd going nuts, and myself really not sure where it was going, until Hardy made a third and final comeback. Hardy then went to the top rope for the Swanton Bomb but there was no way this match was going to end this way, or was it? He missed the Swanton! Then of course we get the wwe throwing out the match by having Edge run in and spear Triple H causing the end of the match; lame.

WWE Smackdown 11/7/08 Results and Review

Here we go, another Smackdown and this one comes a week after Chavo Guerrero got buried into a casket! Awesome!

MVP opens up the show with his in ring promo show, and he claims he hasn’t been focused lately and that’s why he’s losing. MVP’s segment was interrupted by The Great Khali and it is time for the Khali Kiss Cam. I hate the Khali kiss cam, just for the record. MVP is no chump and he proves it by running back to the ring and attacking Khali, and then runs away, like a good heel! MVP is the man! He needs to win for a change though. Word on the street is that Helms is going to beat him sooner than later.

Shelton Benjamin defeated R-Truth

This was a long time coming, Truth has been feuding with Shelton Benjamin for a while, and he has been getting over with the fans. So now he’s getting the title shot! I must admit I was going “What’s Up”! “What’s Up”! I thought this was going to be easy for Truth to win, but it turned out that Benjamin was going to be a lot harder to put away then he expected. Truth was putting the boots to Benjamin and he even threw out a suicide plancha to the floor, and then he went up stairs for a Missile Dropkick! This was awesome! Truth really put on a show for once, and I was marking out like a little kid. But then Benjamin hit The Paydirt and R-Truth loses cleanly to Shelton Benjamin! I couldn’t believe it, R-Truth had his best match in a long time, I loved it.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Another squash match on WWE programming. What a waste of time. I don’t want to see this crap. Why is Jimmy Wang Yang the new Funaki? He is just getting squashed all the time. I hate this crap. Why not have a Cruiserweight division wwe? Why not? I wanted to just give up here. This match was lame, Jackson killed Yang, that’s all.

The Miz & John Morrison defeated Jeff Hardy & Triple H via Disqualification

Jeff Hardy started off this match trying to prove that he’s still got it, but he was getting worked by Morrison and Miz. Triple H watched on, as Hardy was just getting severely worked, and Triple H just didn’t jump in to save him much. Hardy didn’t tag Triple H in in this match up and he was continually trying to get this win by himself. This could be because he wants another title shot and he told Vickie Guerrero earlier in the show that he was going to proof to her that he’s still Extreme. This of course made for some great double teaming opportunities from Miz & Morrison and no major offense or help from Triple H. Hardy got desperate after not being able to win this on his own and he took out Morrison and Miz with a Steel Chair!

Great Khali defeated MVP

MVP got thrown into this match, and he really needed to win it. I was rooting for him, because he hasn't won a match in a Long time and if he doesn't win sometime soon, he might as well just go to TNA, as it is the custom with people that get fired or leave the wwe. Not like there's any other options for American pro-wrestlers. This isn't 1998 ya know. Khali killed MVP, even though MVP was trying to work over Khali's leg and take the big man down. It was a sad day for MVP as once again he loses and once again Gregory Helms makes fun of him. They are bound to square off sooner than later.

Brie Bella defeated Victoria

Woa, too much make up! Way TOO MUCH MAKEUP! THe divas had so much make up that their faces no longer looked real, and this is sad. This match sucked, I'm sorry, this stupid piece of crap match featured two divas that no one cares about. I've always said that Victoria can wrestle, but she's never involved in good matches anymore. If WWE would just take a look at the Knockouts division, they could feature some compelling wrestling! This match seemed like a standard divas match, even if Victoria did throw up some good moves. It was relatively short and the fans weren't really into it, and neither was I.

The Bella twins finally showed up, and all that under the ring stuff was finally revealed. Lame.

Kozlov defeated The Underkaker via dq

This match was really back and forth and I liked it. I liked where it was going, but then Hardy runs down and interferes, forcing me to get tired and go to sleep. Hardy then begs for a no rules match with The Undertaker next week. Smackdown is getting really really interesting. Kozlov wins again, and we are still going to see who's fighting Triple H at Survivor Series.

WWE Smackdown 10/17/08 Review and Results

Once again my affiliate of My Network screwed me over and I couldn’t get to see ALL of smackdown. I joined the show at 7:39 pm pst and it was R. Rtruth going against MVP.

R. Truth defeated MVP

I joined this match with R. Truth in full control of MVP, but that was quickly turned back towards MVP’s favor. He missed the drive by kick, and R Truth landed his scissors kick for the clean victory over MVP. Once again the wwe has buried MVP, and it’s sad to see such a good talent getting squashed like this. MVP loses clean to R. Truth!

I’m going to have to start managing my time better, so that I don’t miss any of Smackdown, what a load of crap, MY network sucks.

The new Kizarny character is already bugging me.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated Super Crazy

When this match started I immediately yawned. This couldn’t be good for Super Crazy at all. Crazy got squashed hard and fast with what looked like The Rock Bottom. This match was no longer than 2 minutes long. Way to bury your talent wwe, way to go, Super Crazy is most likely on his way out.

Undertaker and The Great Khali fought to a no contest

Wow, way to waste my time WWE. This match was all Khali, and right when things started to turn around, Big Show ran in with an interference, and beat down the Undertaker. Show then grabbed a chair and wanted Khali to hit Undertaker with it, and after some verbal assaults from Show to Khali, Khali left the ring and didn’t look back.

Post match, Undertaker hit Big Show with a chair in the back, knocking him outside of the ring.

Maria won a diva invitational of sorts

This divas match was weird. At a lot of points in this match there was a lot of standing around with dumb looks at the hard camera. Maria dressed as Poison Ivy was kind of hot. The rest of the match was nothing major, they all attacked each other in the corner trying to get the fuzzy dice. The goal was to get the dice, that were hanging on a pole, and they would get a shot at the diva’s title.

Maria looked hot, that’s for sure.

Jesse & Festus defeated Kenny Dykstra & Ryan Braddock

Festus changing thanks to the bell is a tired gag to me. I’m sick of seeing it and I don’t like it any longer. Seeing Kenny still in the wwe just reminds me of the old Spirit Squad gang, and sometimes wish there were more stables in the wwe right now. Ryan Braddock looks like a younger, smaller Bradshaw. I wasn’t the only one that thought this match kind of sucked, the audience was dead through most of it. Some moves from Festus did prompt a few “oooohs” but for the most part this crowd was not 100% behind this match up. Festus wins this match with a flapjack on Dykstra, and I for one am NOT surprised with the results.

The WWE Tag division hasn’t been this boring in a LONG time. Trust me, it can’t get any worse.

Kozlov defeated Jeff Hardy

Kozlov looked good in this match, and I couldn’t help but think of him as a new “Goldberg” like wrestler. Stepping into this match undefeated was definitely a big thing, especially since he has yet to face a challenger that posed a serious threat to him. Kozlov took control of this match early on and was seriously throwing Hardy some heavy hitting moves. Before the commercial break he was throwing Hardy shoulder first into the ringside pole! After the commercial break we were still getting Kozlov beating Hardy, and it wasn’t looking too good for the high flyer. Things really went sour after Kozlov dropped Hardy with his patented head butt, and this match was over. The match had Hardy losing clean, which baffles me greatly. Will Triple H bury Kozlov? I’m not sure how this is going to turn out, but I hope they don’t just bury Kozlov and then have Triple H claim he’s the greatest, I’m not sure if I want Kozlov winning the title, but I know that I don’t want this to turn out the way I think it will. Hardy losing clean is weird to me.

WWE Smackdown 10/10/08 Review and Results

Here we go, a big night in WWE history, and I was expecting big things, but I'm not sure if WWE likes me or you very much, as you will see.

The new smackdown music and intro sucks. It's annoying and lackluster, what a horrible piece of crap. I hate this piece of crap intro. WWE you've outdone yourselves in the crap department with this new intro. Sad, but true.

Vickie opening the show got a lot of heat! It was awesome, I was booing from my mom's house here in Los Angeles, Ca.

Brie Bella defeated Natalya

Somewhat impressive strength from Natalya, but this match was boring. Brie Bella used her twin to win this one. Hornswoggle came out and chased out Victoria, while Natalya was distracted, Brie or her twin jumped in and gave Natalya a crucifix to pin and it was over. Brie Bella wins a poor excuse for a women's wrestling match.

R. Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin (non title match)

Here we go, it's about time, R Truth is getting a shot at Shelton Benjamin! I hate to admit it, but I like "what's up" and am caught singing along quite often. This match should be a precursor to Truth getting the U.S championship later in the month and/or year. The match started with Benjamin really putting the boots to Truth, even giving some stiff shots to the face. He was controlling every aspect of this match early on, and it really looked like he was mad at Truth for stealing his thunder. Benjamin threw Truth outside and tried to really slow down the contender, and tried to prove that he was the "Gold" standard. Truth got back into this match after a back suplex, and slowly started to break down Shelton Benjamin, really making the gold standard fight for a second wind. I thought for sure Truth had this match won with the corkscrew flying forearm, which was really impressive, but it only got a two count. Truth kept fighting, and eventually rolled up Benjamin into a small package like maneuver for the three count! Benjamin gets beaten, and most likely will have to put the title on the line later on this month against R. Truth!

Jeff Hardy defeated MVP

They are continually burying MVP and just like last week, I was under the impression that they would once again force MVP to lose. MVP used to be a viable heel in the wwe, but lately he's been fed to all comers, and is like the Tommy Dreamer of Smackdown as of late. Sure he gets some higher profile matches, but he is quickly buried by Triple H, and others lately. It's a sad downfall for MVP. Jeff Hardy hasn't really done a whole lot either, just losing to everyone. Gregory Helms came on the screen in his bubble and said that the P in MVP means "Please" as in "Please win a match, I'm just saying".

This match had Hardy in control early on, and he was proving that he was still a major player in the Smackdown crew. He was taking it to MVP and MVP really had to regroup at the commercial break. After the break, Hardy was still at it, but MVP gave Hardy one heck of a counter. While MVP was in the corner and getting set up for the special hardy dropkick with the top rope as leverage, MVP put his legs up, sending Hardy flying across the dream and the tables turned fast! MVP swooped in with some rest holds, forcing Hardy to slow down and just try to survive the endless submissions of MVP. MVP had things going his way until out of the blue he throws up a Whisper in the Wind and the tides turn towards Hardy's favor yet again! Hardy gets to the top rope and hits the Swanton Bomb, pins MVP and wins clean! MVP again loses, Hardy is back on the winning road!

The Colon's and Jesse & Festus defeated Ryan Braddock, Ryder, Hawkins, and Kenny Dykstra

This match only really served to bury Kenny, as far as I'm concerned. The Colon's were good, but it was Festus who really cleaned house in this match up and picked up the win. This match was NOT a technical classic, and overall was boring to mee. I didn't really like how horrible this one was executed, but what I did enjoy was seeing Kenny get beat down by the giant Festus. Not a bad ending, and overall, one of my favorite moments of Smackdown thus far.

The Great Khali defeated three jobbers

Great Khali defeated three guys. Lame. Nothing to see here folks, lame.

Triple H vs. The Big Show went to a NO Contest

The final match at smackdown didn't really end properly. Seriously, this could have been great, but things went awry when Triple H interfered, causing things to go downhill for anyone that spent time watching this smackdown event.

Overall this was a pretty dumb Smackdown.

WWE Smackdown Results 9/5/08 and Review

WWE Smackdown rolls through town, just a few days before Unforgiven and we get immediately treated to the Undertaker and Vickie saga, and who knows how it is going to turn out! This looks awesome, the WWE editors are amazing, and they do such great things with these promos, when they are on, they are on, sometimes they aren’t as good, but this opening was cool. Undertaker is looking scarier than ever, that’s for sure.

Triple H promo:

Triple H comes out to cut a promo only to get interrupted by the participants in the championship scramble. Nothing too great here, except for the closing portions. The Brian Kendrick ambushed Triple H and then knocked him down when Ezekiel distracted him, then came in the rest of the heels, only to get thwarted by Jeff Hardy. Hardy started beating everyone down, then Ezekiel once again was the equalizer, only to get Triple H coming back with a chair and clearing the ring. Great set up for the scramble, and The Brian Kendrick looked great in this one, and if he wins, I’ll be happy. He won’t, but I want him to win.

R. Truth defeated Bam

R. Truth did his usual stuff, and was impressive. However, Bam is nothing more than a glorified jobber and is probably one of the worst bodyguards in WWE history. He loses this match and Chavo doesn’t even get involved to help out. Truth wins this one easily. Some might find that Truth’s move set is generic and is what he’s always been doing, but I beg to differ, it’s fresh and hopefully he gets some better opponents, or else things are going to be bad for Truth’s future in the WWE. He’s still new, so maybe he’ll just get through some squashes.

The Undertaker Segment:

The Undertaker cuts a promo promising that he is going to send Vickie Guerrero straight to hell. Quite honestly, I don’t really give a crap about this. Undertaker winning the world championship would be an amazing thing, but since things are not looking like they are headed towards Triple H vs. Undertaker anytime soon, we might have to wait for a while. Undertaker than disappears and we’re left with an empty ring.

Shelton Benjamin defeated MVP

This seemed to be set up recently thanks to Shelton Benjamin dropping MVP on Smackdown. This match was looking good to start off, and MVP really took advantage of Shelton’s naïve behavior by pretending that he quit and was walking away. This was short lived though as MVP soon found himself fighting off the U.S Champion through various steps of the gold standard’s move set. However, right when I thought Benjamin was going to win, MVP nailed him with a drive by kick and I switched my opinion, thinking that MVP could get the upper hand. A near fall later and out of nowhere, Shelton Benjamin threw up the Pay Dirt and BOOOM MVP loses to the U.S Champion clean.

Divas Backstage segment:

I have no idea what these chicks were talking about. I was bored. I thought Maria was stupid? Now she’s acting all smart. I don’t like either one of these divas. I think it was Maryse and Maria? I don’t know, it was boring, I didn’t pay much attention to this.

Maryse defeated Maria

This match, although well executed somewhat well, is a horrible example of what women can do in professional wrestling. The women seem to be forcing themselves to perform certain moves, and they don’t look like they know what they are doing at all. If you like staring at skinny chicks trying to wrestle, then you probably enjoyed this match. There was a lot of clotheslines and attempted moves off the top rope. The execution at times was just completely horrible, and I couldn’t wait for this match to be over. Maryse dropped Maria on her head with a ddt, and the crowd was completely dead. This match sucked, and the divas division in the WWE makes me hate Smackdown.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Jeff Hardy

The new guy and the old guy, and Hardy looked to be favoring his knee yet again. I’m not sure if this was a work or if Hardy was legitimately injured. Kendrick had this match sewn up, but one quick mistake and Hardy took advantage creating a huge gap between the beginning of the match and the center-piece. Hardy did put on a show, putting on some moves that he hasn’t done before, and I think Kendrick is amazing in the ring. He looked as though he was not going to pull off the win, but with a little help from Ezekiel, The Kendrick defeated Jeff hardy after landing “The Kendrick” finishing maneuver. The Kendrick is by far the highlight of the Smackdown roster right now, and he does in fact remind me of a young Brian Pillman, and that’s a great thing.

Super Crazy defeated Ryan Braddock

Super Crazy won a squash match. There wasn’t a whole lot to mention about this, all that I know is that Braddock never stood a chance. Crazy is entertaining, but this match was nothing short of a lame squash match.

Post Match we get Kozlov coming out and asking for competition. He gets The Big Show coming out to the ring smiling, and he’s going to be the competition! They were about to brawl and right before they got into it, Vickie Guerrero comes out and stops the action.

Vickie threatens the Big Show and tells him to go home.

Vickie then says that she’s going to force Undertaker to apologize to her.

Brie Bella defeated Victoria

Another Squash match. Nothing major happened here, I was bored.

Triple H defeated The Great Khali

I didn’t think there were nearly enough lumberjacks, but I understood what the match was going for. The match overall wasn’t half bad, but once again I couldn’t help but root for Khali. I’m tired of seeing Triple H winning all the time, and once again he wins this match up against Khali without much of a recourse. The standard match was seen here, as Triple H has become comfortable in his move set and Khali hasn’t changed up anything since he showed up in the WWE a few years back. Triple H wins this one, but the winner really is none other than Hard, who stood over the champion and had the last say in this match up. Not half bad.

WWE Smackdown 9/5/08 Results

R-Truth defeated Bam Neely
United States Champion Shelton Benjamin defeated MVP (Non-title)
Maryse defeated Maria
The Brian Kendrick defeated Jeff Hardy
Super Crazy defeated Ryan Braddock
Brie Bella defeated Victoria
WWE Champion Triple H defeated The Great Khali (Non-title Lumberjack Match)

This edition of Smackdown was really well done. There was a lot of wrestling on this show, and if you’re a fan of WWE you more than likely enjoyed Kendrick and the main event. MVP’s match was good too, and even R-Truth wasn’t half bad. This whole even was good, and dare I say it was the best thing that happened this week in professional wrestling.
