Ecw on Sci Fi 11/11/08 Review and Results

I woke up way too tired for this crap, but I managed to watch it anyway. Here is how the Veteran’s day episode of ECW went down:

John Morrison,The Miz & Jack Swagger defeated Cryme Tyme & Tommy Dreamer

Swagger avoided Dreamer early on, then asked for him to get tagged in, but it didn’t happen as Swagger wanted him in as he was losing to JTG’s offense. The crowd was into this one, and heavily favored the good guys. The arena was definitely into this match up and they were much louder than recent American crowds for Ecw. Morrison was on the receiving end of a lot of punishment, and I can’t believe that Tommy Dreamer was getting so much in, as he was looking like a champion rather than a jobber. Overall a good match up, featuring Dreamer nearly winning this match with his flurry of offense close to the end. Swagger seemed to have gotten the push and the crowd was firmly behind him! However, a Dreamer ddt looked to derail his push, but Morrison reversed the ddt into the Moonlight Drive and once again Dreamer jobs. Dreamer sucks

Mark Henry defeated some dude named Oliver

This was lame. Henry kills some local guy and there’s nothing more to it.

Matt Hardy defeated Finlay

This was a great back and forth match up and was given more than half of the show to play out. Finlay was the aggressor early on and was definitely poised to win this one, if only by the crowd’s reaction to his moves. Finlay, from Ireland, was definitely over with the UK crowd, and Hardy was having a hard time kicking out of a lot of Finlay’s latter offense. Finlay hit the Celtic Cross and I thought it was over, but Hardy kicked out at nearly 2 ½ and things were not looking good for Hardy at all. Finlay looked great out there and I liked this match it was definitely the best overall wrestling match up I’ve seen in a long time. These two put on a clinic of ECW wrestling, and while I don’t like these two on the mic, they can wrestle their butts off in the ring. Matt Hardy hit the Twist of Fate out of nowhere for the successful title defense! Great stuff. I liked this match a lot.
