Shelton Benjamin defeated Zack Ryder

I liked how this feuded started. No, not the singing, but the fact that Ryder attacked Benjamin during his rendition of the classic Hootie and The Blowfish song; that beginning led way into this starting match. The two were fighting tooth and nail, and I loved where they started in this match up, with both guys hitting hard, fast, and pacing a lot better than the average big man match, consisting of running the ropes, instead of going to a headlock from the start. Zack Ryder did slow things down a little, it was Shelton that made the crowd go wild with nicely timed reversals and good overall power, with the crowd firmly behind The Gold Standard. A frustrated Ryder made way to another Shelton Benjamin victory.

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Jobber

Another jobber loses to Kozlov. I’m tired of seeing Kozlov beat up jobbers.

Post match Ezekiel Jackson came down beat up a jobber too. These two wrestlers have been on a collision course, and they have yet to wrestle each other, I’m sure they will someday, just not this time

Yoshi Tatsu defeated Paul Burchill via disqualification

Paul Burchill as really putting Yoshi through ringer in this match up. Paul was really fighting hard, and was seriously hitting harder than I’ve seen him wrestle in recent times. Katie Lea interfered and this forced a disqualification, so maybe Paul’s intensity was due in large part to the length of the match up.

Post match The Hurricane, in full Super Hero costume saved Yoshi from a beating! I kid you not, The Hurricane is back in Green!

Tyler Reks defeated Tom James (jobber)

Don’t blink during this match, you might miss it. Another jobber match with the new guy Tyler Reks getting the win. Tyler Reks is impressive, but he needs more opponents to get over with the fans, and myself. He’s ok, but not exactly quite there yet.
Christian was on the Abraham Washington show, and it was ok, I guess?

William Regal defeated Tommy Dreamer

First Regal was named the #1 contender, then he gets a match with Dreamer. Regal is a legit contender, and word on the street is that Tommy Dreamer is injured. Regal worked on Tommy Dreamer’s injured left arm, and was slowly fighting him, and this match was not much else. Dreamer made a small comeback, but it was Regal that was like a rabid dog against Dreamer during this match up. Regal eventually knocked out Dreamer with a knee to the face and we said goodnight to Dreamer…he’s on his way out in my view.
