Ring of Honor Card of SuperCard of Honor April 7, 2018 Results and Review

Supercard of Honor XII
There were 11 matches that went down in New Orleans for Ring of Honor’s biggest of event of the year. There were 6,000 people in attendance, and it was quite the thrilling crowd and truly sold out. While NXT was going on, this was going on, so you know a lot of wrestling was going on. This had a lot of stories going into it, and I finally was able to see it all.

Ring of Honor SuperCard of Honor 2018 Results and Review

Kelly Klein defeated Mayu Iwatani (Women of Honor Tournament)

This wasn’t too bad, 9 minutes, and standard back and forth wrestling. I didn’t know either women, but it was good to see another set of women wrestling besides WWE.

Sumie Sakai defeated Tenille Dashwood (Women of Honor Tournament)

This was really good, and Sumie Sakai was excellent here. I was impressed by her and Tenille’s match, as the two were able to put together a good back and forth match with an interesting finish. I liked this one.

Chuckie T. defeated Jonathan Gresham

I wasn’t aware of who these guys were, so when it all went down, I didn’t really know what to expect. This was a standard opener, nothing too crazy, and it worked well enough.

Punishment Martinez defeated Tomohiro Ishii

I did not expect Ishii to go down here, but Punishment Martinez appears to be the latino version of Baron Corbin which is kind of interesting. I liked this option. A good back and forth fight, with lots of hard hits and interesting break downs. Good match for only around 8 minutes or so of action.

Kota Ibushi defeated Hangman Page

Ibushi is great here, and Page was able to throw down with him, but I knew it wasn’t Page’s day, and he lost after getting rocked back and forth by Ibushi’s offense. There was a moment where I thought Hangman Page was getting a win, but Ibushi fought back for a good win.

Sumie Sukai defeated Kelly Klein to win the Women of Honor Championship

I was impressed with this one. Wow! Sukai is amazing, and she pulled out one hell of a match with a lot of back and forth. Klein was good too, and she threw down a great deal of offense but Sukai was dropping some incredible moves, and the timing was just there for a 7 minute match, I loved it.

SoCal Uncensored defeated Flip Gordon and The Young Bucks for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship

This was not half bad. Was it as good as some of the other matches? Nope. This was adequate. It had all of the spots that you would expect from the Bucks and the guys in SoCal Uncensored. I loved it, no doubt, and the 25 minute match was great, but it seemed like I’ve seen this before, and the Bucks just wrestled another match that they’ve done in the past. It was entertaining, just didn’t seem to mean as much.

The Briscoes defeated Jay Lethal and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the World Tag Team Championship

This was a fast paced, quick match and it showed. The Briscoes were on fire tonight and they worked way better than the Japanese team. Jay Lethal is good, and Tanahashi is great too, but the 20 minute match was mostly Briscoes showcasing why they are the most important teams not in WWE right now. I loved the match, it had everything that you could want from a tag team match.

Silas Young defeated Kenny King in a Last Man Standing Match

I didn’t know who these guys were, but wow, the two were able to throw a good match together and a hard hitting one. King would lose this one, and wow, good for Silas Young as he truly put the boots to King, although, the ending was a bit funny if you saw it.

Cody defeated Kenny Omega

Nearly 40 minutes of action, and a lot of back and forth. Kenny Omega was great. Kenny Omega threw down a great deal of offense, and even knocked out the bear that Cody brought. Cody delivered on all ends as being the ultimate bad guy here, and in the end, after a ref bump, after Brandi went through a table at ring side, Omega got a couple of superkick in the face and Cody pinned him. Cody won! This was an emotional ride, and Cody won big.

Dalton Castle defeated Marty Scurll in the ROH World Championship Match

I was shocked by the fact that Marty Scurll didn’t win. Dalton Castle won after a lot of back and forth wrestling, and Scurll taking out all of the possible weapons that nearly killed Ospreay in NJPW. I loved this match’s theme, I just didn’t like that Castle won. I’ve seen a few matches with Dalton Castle, and honestly, I don’t get why he’s champion, Scurll made him look silly at various times. I loved Scurll here, and he should’ve won.

Overall, this was a long show, but it felt good to see something other than WWE, and therefore I liked it. I liked about 4 matches overall, and the rest was filler to me. It was still good, mind you, but not nearly as good as NXT.

NJPW Sakura Genesis 2018 Results and Review

Sakura Genesis 2018 Okada vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
The opening day of pro wrestling’s greatest week started with an event featuring all of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s best talent, and there were 9 matches. Lots went on in this 4 hour event and I was absolutely thrilled to get to see it all go down. After 4 plus hours of competition, I am not sure how the WWE could compare with some of the amazing talent that the New Japan Pro Wrestling camp has. Let’s talk about how it all went down, and my thoughts on the event that started April 2018.

NJPW Sakura Genesis 2018 Results and Review

The Young Bucks defeated Bullet Club Members (Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi)

The opening match wasn’t very long, and it was the same style that the Young Bucks showed off in Long Beach. It was a fast paced, back and forth, standard high flying match with lots of tag team elements. The end came with the Bucks getting the win, in what seemed to be a predictable fashion if you ask me.

Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano) defeated Suzuki-Gun (Taichi and Takashi Iizuki)

This was another tag match with some good comedy moments from Chaos, and some great action from Suzuki-Gun. I didn’t hate this match by any means, but it seemed like the two teams just put on the same match I’ve seen before. That didn’t mean that I didn’t like it, but for those harsh critics out there, you may find it repetitive. I found it fun to watch, and it was only around 8 minutes long anyway.

Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa) defeated Michael Elgin, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Togi Makabe in the Never Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Match

This was a fast paced affair with a lot of back and forth action. Michael Elgin is a beast! And Taguchi with Makabe were fun to watch as well, but the Bullet Club were on their game and it was hard for them to not win this one. I loved it. They were able to throw down some clever moves, reversals, and power elements that reminded me of the speed of the Usos, only bigger, badder, and more intense. I loved it.

Taguchi Japan (Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, and David Finlay) defeated Chaos (Hirooki Goto, Jay White, and Yoshi-Hasshi)

Another six man tag team match here, and while it was under 10 minutes, it just seemed like a lot of tag matches for the show. After the starting point, however, I didn’t mind, because the guys really put on some great moments. Lots of tag team momentum, and lots of high spots, with a mix of psychology and focus on submissions here and there. I had fun with this match, even if it ended a bit too swiftly for my taste.

Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Evil, and Sanada)

This was another six man tag, believe it or not, and the guys tore down the house with some good back and forth. I’m still very impressed with Davey Boy Smith Jr. here, and he truly needs more attention in the states, he’s really good here. Archer and Suzuki are good too, but the Ingobernables de Japon were no slouches here. I had a blast watching them all beat down each other, and the Suzuki and Naito element was great too! Good match, a bit short though.

Suzuki-gun (El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Bushi and Hiromu Takahashi) and Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh) for the IWP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship

A triple threat match for the titles and it was a fast paced match with lots of back and forth. I found it to be great, and while I was already tired of so many tag matches, I still had fun with it. I think it’s because I grew up with Lucha Libre, and there’s a ton of tag matches in those events. This was fast, and only 13 minutes long, but it had some great back and forth action, double team moves, and even a ref pull. Great action, and the champs retain.

Will Ospreay defeated Marty Scurll in the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

This went 30 minutes and it was incredible Marty Scurll seemed to have Will Ospreay’s number in nearly every single way here. He had some amazing moments, including focusing on Ospreay’s neck and really causing damage to his head, including a cut at one point. There’s a lot of back and forth, and it wasn’t just Scurll getting some hard hits either. Every major counter to high spots could’ve been seen here, and the two eventually landed into a nice ending sequence that had Ospreay pulling out the win, but not necessarily winning the war. He looked hurt, and there were some major hits taken to pull this match together. Marty Scurll is an incredible talent, and wow, this match proved it yet again.

Bullet Club (Cody and Hangman Page) defeated The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi)

Another great tag team match, only this time it featured two heavy hitters from the Bullet Club, and it was action packed. Cody is a great heel, and Hangman Page is deceptively strong. He has Cesaro strength, and it showed several times during this match. Cody is a great heel, and was able to make this a great counter point to Kenny Omega and Ibushi’s good guy act. Omega and Ibushi were like well oiled machines in the ring, and they put on a show, but even though they busted Cody wide open, it didn’t matter, Cody and Page were able to get the win. Great match, and lots of action with a slight shift due to the Young Bucks coming out and asking what this is all for anyway.

Kazuchika Okada defeated Zack Sabre Jr. in the IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match

I am calling it here, this was one of the best matches I’ve seen all year. Zack Sabre Jr. had nearly every single counter to everything Okada did, and whenever Okada would get a little bit of breath, Sabre Jr was right there to stop him. He is truly the man with 1,000 holds, because he knew everything and how to counter it. Okada had to really work to stop him, and instead of focusing on hard hitting back and forth action, the finishers were in place, and wow, just wow. Lots of back and forth but mainly Zack Sabre Jr. putting on a clinic of submissions that never got old. This match went over 30 minutes, and I was all in from the start. Zack Sabre Jr. may be my favorite wrestler right now, even though he lost after a couple of rain makers to finish things off. Zack Sabre Jr. put Okada through the ringer, and he survived, and I’m impressed.

This was one hell of a show, and the main events were great to watch. There’s so much talent on this show, that I am not sure how WWE is going to top any of this. I was just beyond thrilled to catch it, and am a huge fan of this type of wrestling compared to WWE.

ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018 Results and Review

ROH 16 Anniversary Graphic
Well, after a bit of time, I finally was able to get my hands on ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018. Since this is a flagship blog, I will be reviewing it here, the major PPV, not the television tapings that occurred afterwards. I almost went to this, but instead, focused on staying home and sleeping. But hey, that’s just me. Anyways, this happened in Las Vegas at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall. I don’t know the attendance, but I’m sure it’s fine. The following are the matches and my thoughts on them, as you would expect from this blog.

ROH 16 Anniversary Show 2018 Results and Review

Hiromu Takahashi defeated Flip Gordon

Takahashi had a slow start here, and Flip Gordon was great to see. He is so athletic and was able to counter attack the onslaught that Takahashi kept throwing down. Gordon’s moves were great, but it was the Japanese star that would get the big win. There’s a lot of back and forth here, and some great overall reactions and timing, with a focus on wrestling and dancing at one point. Gordon is great, and of course Takahashi is always fun to watch.

Marty Scurll defeated Punishment Martinez

I’ve never been impressed with Punishment Martinez, but in this match, he had a real test. Marty Scurll, the Villain, was great here. He played his role to the tee, and while Martinez had a great deal of offense, it was the Villain that outsmarted him in the end, including a table spot, a fake out powder spot, and a low blow. Scurll just keeps getting better and better.

Kenny King defeated Silas Young in the ROH TV Title Match

This was not that good for me. I was bored. The ending was ok, but I wasn’t invested in this match at all, so when it all went down, I didn’t care. It was ok at best. I found it to be somewhat slow, and plotting, and well, it wasn’t grand. King and Young put on about 15 minutes of slow paced wrestling, but there were a few bright spots, mind you. The suplex outside of the ring, for instance, was a good spot, other than that, though, meh.

SoCal Uncensored defeated The Hung Bucks for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles in a Las Vegas Street Fight

This was a lot of fun with all the guys doing a great deal of work. The Young Bucks threw down a lot of reversals, tag team moves, and even went through a couple of tables. The SoCal Uncensored guys were great too, with Kazarian getting busted wide open, Scorpio Sky and Daniels throwing in some great high flying moves, and of course taking some great punishment. Both teams put on a show, and it’s fun to see a great street fight with hardcore rules. It’s better than a lot of matches I’ve seen in WWE this year. Fun for what it was and almost 20 minutes long.

Cody defeated Matt Taven

I’m not a huge Cody Rhodes fan, but in this match he did shine. It well paced, fast, and Taven kept up with him step for step. Bury The Bear was on the outside and was getting some chants, and Brandi Rhodes was there too, and she’s beautiful. The match itself went back and forth until there was a ref bump. That prompted a couple of thugs to come out and beat down Cody Rhodes, but he was wearing a cup! After Cross Rhodes, Matt Taven would go down for the three count. A good match, no doubt.

After the match, Bury The Bear pushed Rhodes and took of his head, and it was none other than KennY Omega! That’s right, Omega showed up and hit Rhodes with his finisher and left him for dead!

The Briscoes defeated The Motor City Machine Guns for the Tag Team Titles

Not a great match. It was a bit boring. I’ve seen these guys wrestle so much that by the time the Briscoes got the win, I was ready to move on. I guess after the Omega reveal, this show was getting me a bit bored. I don’t watch ROH TV from week to week so it’s hard to get interested in some matches. Either way, this had some good moments, and the Briscoes are just fast as ever, alongside the Machine Guns which always deliver fast paced action.

Dalton Castle defeated Jay Lethal in the ROH World Championship Match

A 26 minute match that wasn’t too bad. A good back and forth match with Lethal getting the upper hand in a lot of the sequences, but Castle coming back with a bit of finesse. Castle is an interesting champion, and while there are signs that he could be as good as Flair, he has his own elements. Castle wins big here, and Lethal loses out overall.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 Results and Review

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 - Tokyo Dome - January 4, 2018
The biggest show that wasn’t WWE happened yesterday and it was Wrestle Kingdom 12 from New Japan Pro Wrestling. I happened to get a handle on it, and well here is my review, as it was 5 hours and 30 minutes long, so here are my thoughts, just straight up. I’m not a follower of New Japan, but the Jericho match had me getting this, so here it is.

The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi 3K for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships

I saw the Young Bucks back when they were just Slick Nick and Mr. Instant Replay at the Viking Hall in Culver City, California. Then I saw them wrestle in FCW in Los Angeles. However, they have come a long way since then, and are very good at what they do. The duo of brothers took on Roppongi 3K and put on a show. This match was everything you’d expect from cruiserweights. They were flying across the ring, dropping kicks, doing everything that Rey Mysterio Jr used to do in WCW and then some. This was not one sided either, The Bucks were not getting an easy win here, they got put through the ringer, and the crowd ate it up, as they were getting close to tapping out, and getting pinned many times. I found this match to be fun, and well worked, with a fast pace you’d expect from the USOS. I’d love to see the Young Bucks versus The Usos, that’s for sure. Great action here, and solid back and forth. The Bucks would win after getting the Meltzer Driver and then a sharpshooter, and that was that. The new champions, and a serious battle.

Chaos (Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano) defeated Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa), Michael Elgin and War Machine (Hanson and Raymond Rowe), Suzuki-gun (Taichi, Takashi Iizuka and Zack Sabre Jr.) (with El Desperado, Taka Michinoku and Yoshinobu Kanemaru) and Taguchi Japan (Juice Robinson, Ryusuke Taguchi and Togi Makabe) Gauntlet match for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship

This was an ongoing battle from all levels. I haven’t seen such a train wreck of a beat down in a long time. I am not sure who the guys are, as I haven’t seen every one of these guys, but wow, there’s a lot of back and forth. I have seen a few, don’t get me wrong, but there are some guys I haven’t seen before. I really like Zack Sabre Jr. but everyone else, it seemed like I didn’t really know. Overall, however, this was a great overall back and forth, gauntlet of teams fighting for the 6-man championship. It was entertaining, as it was crazy, and well, I don’t know what I can say, other than there’s a lot going on in this match. Zack Sabre Jr. was my favorite part of this match, that’s for sure. Watch out for the counters, and high spots, including one hell of a Diamond Cutter on Beretta. Beretta won with one of the most insane moves I’ve ever seen, and well, the Dude Buster was swift, and won this for his team. Hell of a match.

Kota Ibushi defeated Cody Rhodes

I remember Ibushi in the Cruiserweight Classic, and honestly, I haven’t seen much of him after the fact. Cody came out with his wife, and his hair dyed completely blonde, in a tribute to his father, which looked great. Cody is one of the biggest independent stars, and from what I heard, he’s pulling more money now than when he was in WWE. Good for him! The two worked well together, and honestly, it was fast paced, hard style, and worked very well for a singles match. I would say that this is the best match I’ve seen Cody work in a long time. Ibushi and Cody worked very well, and wow, what aback and forth match here. I thought this was a longer match than it was, but honestly, it’s not half bad. Rhodes did drill Ibushi with cross-Rhodes on the floor! That was awesome. Ibushi would get the win, with one hell of a finisher, which I don’t know, but it involved a lot of flipping and landing with serious power on Cody. Cody loses, and that’s that. I guess that’s the end of that.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Evil and Sanada) defeated Killer Elite Squad for the IWGP Tag Team Championship

I’m not familiar with these teams, as I don’t watch New Japan often, but it’s an interesting little showcase. This tag team match was hard hitting, and very interesting. One team was more hard style, while the other team was less so. I did recognize Davey Boy Smith Jr, and he was out wearing his father’s getup, and it was a good thing to see him fight in that garb. This was a great overall match, good back and forth, lots of hard hitting action, and tag team moves. Not much else to say here, it’s a long one, but back and forth, lots of action, and no wasted moments if you ask me.

Hirooki Goto defeated Minoru Suzuki in a Hair vs. Hair Match For the NEVER Openweight Championship

An example of a Japanese hard style match, if I were to find one is this one. Goto and Suzuki put on a show here with head butts, and hard style punches, and elbows. These guys really put the bricks to each other in a show that was much like the UK title matches in WWE. I was impressed with how tough these guys are, and well, I don’t know what else to say about it. Goto practically killed Suzuki to get the pin, and it looked like he was dead afterwards. I was impressed, just wow, he won with a serious beat down.

Will Ospreay defeated Marty Scurll, Hiromu Takahashi and Kushida in a Four-way match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship

I’ve seen a lot of entrances, but wow, Marty Scurll once again proves to be one hell of a talent. He came out with full wings and his complete garb. I liked him in ROH, and now, wow, this is an interesting focal point. He’s great, WWE should look into this, it’s an incredible focus. As far a four way goes, this was an interesting match up with a lot of smart moments. If you like high spots, cruiserweight action, and incredible athleticism, wow. This is an interesting option with a lot of hard hitting moments, and lots of back and forth. This match is as good if not better than 205 live, and I was absolutely floored by how they moved. It reminded me of early Lucha Stuff that I would see as a young kid. Ospreay is perhaps one of the greatest high flyers of all time, he’s so athletic and energetic, with some incredible timing. Scurll, Takahashi, and Kushida are also incredible talents, and had some great moments. This was a good match, and I can say it was the best up to this point in the card.

Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Jay White in the IWGP Intercontinental Championship Match

Another excellent matchup, with Jay White throwing down a lot of action against Tanahashi. I was impressed, both guys worked a fast paced, hard hitting match. Back and forth the two hit each other with everything they had, but honestly, the best part of this was the closing elements, which featured some of the hardest hits and nice overall moves to end. Tanahashi slapped the hell out of white towards the end, which was crazy. Good match leading into the main events.

Kenny Omega defeated Chris Jericho in a NO DQ Match for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship

Here we go, the big one. The only reason I’m covering a New Japan Pro Wrestling show is because Chris Jericho was involved, and the hype was so big, I couldn’t resist. Mind you, this is 3 hours and 26 minutes into the show, if you’re looking at maybe getting a download of Wrestle Kingdom 12 or the DVD or whatever. It’s a long show, but here’s the big match up. Jericho came out with a jacket that had lights, which was really cool. Omega came out like the Terminator, which is cool, but I couldn’t help but wish this was something that we saw in WWE, featuring Omega in the Rumble, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Jericho did seem to look a little doughy, and well, it also looked like he had surgery to help his pecs not look so bad. Jericho immediately went after Omega, and then came in the Young Bucks to try and stop him, which prompted all the referees and young lions to come and stop things a bit. The two were ready to go at it from the start.

The match was not an all out brawl at first, and had Omega throwing himself at Jericho, to the point here he even flew through the announcer’s table at one point. It looked like a rookie mistake, and since this was a NO DQ match, Jericho was brutal, at one point even pushing the referee and slapping the Young dragons at ringside around, which are just the trainees etc. He was playing up his heel persona, and it was working, while Omega was recovering from some of the spots he was taking. This match started to telegraph that Omega was going to win, that’s for sure.

As far as a wrestling match is concerned, this wasn’t bad. It had a lot of back and forth, had some hardcore elements with tables breaking, and some spots that you would expect from ECW in 1999. It was also the best Jericho has been since before he left WCW for WWE. This harder style was interesting, but there were points where you could tell that Jericho was blown up, and it was painfully obvious he is the older of the two for sure. This was a long match, with lots of fire back and forth, with Jericho popping up to ruin Omega’s offense here and there, and while it was good, you could see that it was a bit too long and wearing thin. Eventually Omega would land his finisher on Jericho onto a chair, and that would be the end. Omega pins Jericho clean, and that’s the end, the Omega is better than the Alpha, and that’s that. Not exactly what I thought would happen, but hey, it’s the right choice I’m sure. Jericho loses, and that’s the end. Omega needs to be in WWE so he can get buried by Roman Reigns, or hell Jinder Mahal.

Kazuchika Okada defeated Tetsuya Naito in the IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match

The finale, the main event, had Okada taking on Naito, and it was one hell of a fight. I say fight, but it’s supposed to be pro wrestilng. This was no doubt a back and forth affair that just had Okada getting more and more frustrated that he couldn’t put away Naito. Naito was impressive here, going through everything that Okada threw at him, and kept kicking out. I was impressed with how hard hitting this match was, even though there was a pause in the middle because it looked like they were legit hurt.

Since I don’t watch enough New Japan, I can’t comment on the past or present of these guys, but I can say that this was a match that was quite compelling overall. I did not know how the two would walk out of this one, and it had an epic feel to it as the camera’s panned away from the match. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, but I wish I was more invested in their stories. The finish came when Okada wins with a rotating tombstone piledriver and one hell of a clothesline. That’s the end, 5 hours and 30 minutes, and the end.

Overall, this was too long a show for my liking. However, it was well wrestled, had some good moments, and really is a great way to start your pro wrestling viewing. It’s better than most of the WWE stuff I’ve seen all of 2017, that’s for sure.

TNA Impact 9/23/10 Results and Review

WWE TNA Impact 9/23/10 Results

Rob Terry defeated Abyss via DQ
Chris Sabin defeated Jeremy Buck
Taylor Wilde & Hamada defeated The Beautiful People
Samoa Joe defeated The Pope
Aj Styles defeated Sabu in a ladder match

WWE TNA Impact 9/23/10 Review

Ugh...TNA...I have a head cold right now, and I am really tired...so excuse me if the reviews are sucking lately. I know I'm late on all of them, but you gotta give me some credit...or don't...I mean, i've got no job no life, and well....this is all I do with my time...watch bad pro-wrestling shows.

Rob Terry defeated Abyss via DQ

I might be the only one that is glad to see Rob Terry back in the mix. Backstage, Rob Van Dam was being restrained. Whatever....as soon as they said that Abyss was fighting Terry...I knew this was going to be a squash. I hate ABYSS. I ABSOLUTELY HATE ABYSS.

The match was stupid, it sucked. Abyss threw a gate at Terry. RVD started coming down to ringside, and he was all bandaged up...Abyss got scared.

UGH...This is the worst storyline in wrestling today.

RVD got on the mic and started talking about the TNA title etc....whatever. He wanted a title shot when a champion was declared. Who cares! RVD will get a shot at Abyss at bound for glory....i'm NOT excited to see it.

The Pope came out and started ranting and what not...it was stupid. Bischoff punked out the Pope.

Chris Sabin defeated Jeremy Buck

Some will no doubt say this was a great match, but I say it was stupid. Sabin with a messed up neck defeated a healthy Jeremy Buck? I hated it. The match wasn't that great. Sure there were a few moments that were ok, but the post match beat down was way better than the match. It's nice to see a tag team get pushedin wrestling, it's rare.

Taylor Wilde & Hamada defeated The Beautiful People

This was stupid. Worst match ever? No. Bad match? Yep. I didn't like it, I thought it was stupid. I'd still hook up with Taylor Wilde, but as for wrestling? This is just stupid. TNA, in the past had a great deal of awesome talent and great women's wrestling, but now? Nope. Now it's stupid.

Samoa Joe defeated The Pope

Who kidnapped Samoa Joe? That's all I care about right now. This match wasn't that great, and the more I see Pope wrestle, the more I think he's not that great. He might be good on the mic, but he has little to no chemistry with some of the TNA guys. That's not a good thing for a guy that TNA is putting so much trust into. That being said, this match wasn't that great, and I found it kind of boring. Samoa Joe choked out the Pope.

Immediately after the match, sting, Nash, Joe and Jarrett had a brawl for no apparent reason. I hate it. I'm absolutely sick of the four.

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer was interviewed, he said that at Bound for Glory EV2.0 will face Fortune in a Lethal Lockdown match up. I'm sick of it.

Anderson and Angle were in ring talking to each other...no one cared.

Aj Styles defeated Sabu in a ladder match

Aj Styles won this match with relative ease. Sabu is a shell of his former self. Seriously, he can't take the bumps required to make this match a really good one. I felt bad watching an old man like Sabu try to win this match. Styles didn't even help, he didn't exactly take a lot of great bumps, it was stupid. Pure stupidity.

Abyss cut a promo, beat up Jeff Hardy, beat up RVd, and then was beat up by Ink Inc. Yep. That's it.

TNA this week once again was the worst excuse for a pro-wrestling show. I am sick of Abyss, he sucks, and I'm sick of bad wrestling, bad story lines, and dare I say bad commentary. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to watch tna anymore..it's beyond stupid.

TNA Impact 8/26/10 Results and Review

TNA Impact 8/26/10 Results

Samoa Joe defeated Orlando Jordan
Kevin Nash defeated Double J
Beer Money defeated The FBI
The Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Young BUcks
Kurt Angle, The Pope, Jeff Hardy, and Anderson defeated Kaz, Aj Styles, Matt Morgan, and Douglas Williams

TNA Impact 8/26/10 Review

The show started with a recap of Fortune. I liked how they edit it all together, because it makes it far more important than it really is. They actually make it seem interesting, dare I say, worthwhile to watch?

Then things go to crap.

Dixie Carter is going to the ring!

Dixie in ring said that TNA has never been so successful...which is odd, because their ratings are at 1.0 which is what they were doing several years ago. She called out Ric Flair.

Ric Flair was ready to punch Dixie but out came Dixie's Real Life Husband? Yeah, apparently Dixie's Husband came out and Flair was going to whip him with his belt like they did with David Flair, but HOgan and his men came out...what a terrible segment.

Hogan came out and basically challenged FLair's guys with a group of psuedo Heels....and that was that..Fortune fought HOgan's idiots.

Samoa Joe defeated Orlando Jordan

Samoa JOe is back, and he's still fat. Joe sucks. Orlando Jordan went from being a major player in TNA, freaking out his opponents to getting squashed (no pun intended) by Samoa Joe. This match was stupid, and I'm tired of Orlando Jordan's character. This sucked. You didn't like it, you didn't care. FIRE JOE. Let him go serve tables at Applebees with Justin Credible.

Kevin Nash defeated Double J

Kevin Nash and Jarrett? Ugh...TNA basically screwed me over here. Both of these guys are far beyond their prime. I don't want to see either one of these guys wrestle. If you've seen 1 Kevin Nash match in TNA you've seen them all, and this was no different. A ref bump helped Sting interfere in this match and Nash wins. This match was worst than anything in WCW, there, I said it. STING SUCKS now, NASH IS OLD, JARRETT SUCKS TOO, this match was the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time in TNA or the old WCW.

Sting was beating up Jarrett when Hogan came in from behind and hit Sting with a chair. Yep....A Sting vs. Hogan feud? I'm sick of this stupid booking! How is this HELPING THE YOUNGER GUYS???

Beer Money defeated The FBI

I liked this match. I was surprised to see the FBI tonight against Beer Money. Despite the dominant BEER MONEY team, this match was further proof that if done right, the tag team division can be worthwhile. I liked the match, and thought that the FBI still had some fight in them. I think that with more teams, TNA has a winning combination, if they don't screw it up somehow.

Angelina Love and Velvet Sky were talking in ring? Ugh...they are going to be friends now? This is stupid...I hate this.....

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Young BUcks

Once again, the TNA tag division shows us that anything is possible. I thought this was the best tag team match I've seen in a long time. Seriously, this is the best tag team wrestling, even if it is all high spots. Sure, there's a lot of spots, and a lot of it has no in ring psychology, but still, it was fun to watch. If they can combine some psychology with all the spots, the TNA tag division might save the company. That's my two cents. Spot after spot, this match thrilled the fans, and after the smoked settled from so many high risk moves, the Motor City Machine Gun won this match.

Abyss fought EV2 backstage and into the arena. Abyss sucks.

Kurt Angle, The Pope, Jeff Hardy, and Anderson defeated Kaz, Aj Styles, Matt Morgan, and Douglas Williams

Jeff Hardy is getting fat. Angle is being hot shotted to the World Title. Anderson is stale. And fortune? Lame. This match was ok, I don't mind 8 man tags every now and again, unlike WWE which throws one at you at ever show, so it seems. This match showcased more tag team supremacy with Fortune working like a well oiled machine compared to the good guys, which struggled to get hot tags and maintain good action in this match up. This match ended with a lot of finishing moves, and bodies everywhere. Pope got a blind tag after an Angle Slam and pinned Kaz for the win.

The thing that was funny was that Angle was mad at the Pope. Why would he be mad? They were trying to win as a team, against Fortune, why would he be mad? They won? Is his EGO that big? Is he trying to be heel? This makes absolutely no sense.

Post match the rest of Fortune ran down and beat up the good guys. This was stupid. Is this WCW NITRO? Again? EV2 came running down too. This was a huge melee ending, and it was exactly why WCW started to fail. Sabu hit the worst spot I've seen in a long time, and threw Williams through a table, or rather jumped on him. The show ended with all the guys brawling....I hate TNA.

NOT a complete loss, but definitely a weak showing from the #2 pro-wrestling company, and it's even more unfortunate that the #2 company sucks so bad compared to WWE. Not to say that WWE is so good, because they have their problems too.

On a final note.

Condolences go out to the family of Luna Vachon. She passed away this week. Another wrestling death...she wasn't even 50 years old. sadly, her house and all her possessions burned down, and she was found dead at her mother's house. Sadly, all my childhood memories are dying....Luna, from what I hear was a friendly face and great person to talk to outside of the ring, and was NOT like her character. mad Dog must be sad too.

Ring of Honor The Young Bucks vs Sal Rinauro & Brandon Day

Ring of Honor has a weekly show, and I don't get it. However, while listening to the only wrestling podcast that is good still (dasharpshooters wrestling podcast), I heard about The Young Bucks in Ring of Honor.

Well, The Young Bucks are Mr Instant Replay and Slick Nick from High Risk Wrestling in Southern California and they used to wrestle shows in my home town of Culver City, California. I am glad to have met and known those dudes. Here they are in ROH!
