NWA Lex Luger vs Kendall Windham

This match up comes from 1989, and features the United States Champion Lex Luger against none other than Kendall Windham. The Windham name is a tradition in professional wrestling that hasn't made a come back in a long time. So enjoy a match from 1989, on this super Bowl sunday!

TNA Can't Draw Flies

Looks like TNA is finding themselves in a WCW boat of sorts. From what I can gather, they can't draw outside of Florida, and there's some definitive evidence to back it up now. Apparently 4,000 FREE tickets were given away for a TNA event recently. TNA hasn't ventured far from the lot of the old WCW stomping grounds, but this is just ridiculous.

When was the last time people were given free tickets to a major/minor wrestling show, in recent history? If you guessed XPW, you'd be correct. Apparently TNA can't draw what they believe they can, and while they have slick production values, and a ppv a month, they can't compete with WWE in the grand scheme of things.

It looks like those of us on the west coast will probably never see TNA.

Furthermore, TNA isn't even getting to where ECW was when on TNN. I distinctly remember ECW running shows in California, sold out, with no free tickets given away.

TNA has a long way to go before stepping up to Vince McMahon, that's for sure.

Macho Man's Return

"Randy Savage called Jay Lethal and told him that he liked the Black Machismo character. Apparently, they talked on the phone for several minutes. Could this lead to Savage's return to TNA?"

This is taken from a post on wrestling inc online which talks about the possible return of Randy Savage.

I highly doubt it.

I really highly doubt it.

The only reason I would like Macho Man to come back is to beat the crap out of Jay Lethal for stealing the Macho Man's gimmick.

come on?

Is there nothing new under the professional wrestling sun?

This makes me upset. Why can't Tna-Nwa come up with some original things.

If this is the new age of professional wrestling, we have a sad time on our hands.

Nwa-Tna Completely Fake, Really Fake!

"It should also be noted that sparks were supposed to shoot up off the cage when someone was "electrocuted", but that didn't end up happening. Instead, the lights flashed and the wrestlers involved were told to shake violently as if they were being electrocuted."

TNA-NWA has showed that they are worse than the WWE. This is a snippet from Wrestling Inc.com and they are talking about how the electric cage match from their last ppv was really not working out well.

So instead of telling the ppv audience that there was something wrong with the set up, they started to add sounds of electricity over the sound system, then they told the wrestlers to shake violently!

HAHAHA!

This is hilarious to me, because not only is it fake, they want it to look faker! This is so lame, and I can not believe that TNA wants to be #2 or gain viewers with this. I’m surprised all the time by professional wrestling, but this is beyond simple surprises.

They are completely losing me, but then again, I’m a wrestling fan none-the-less.

I wish it wasn’t so cheesy though.

Rob Van Dam Goes To Tna-Nwa

That is the new headline that is going to be all over the news. At least the wrestling news, which is something great. Rob Van Dam has been buried in the ECW story lines ever since he lost the WWE title the night after ECW's One Night Stand.

So what's next?

Well news broke today that RVD rejected the new contract. Th contract details are not available, but I doubt that RVD wants to be jobbed right now. He can be a main even player and he has been on many occasions, but it appears that the WWE just don't want to utilize him in that capacity, even if all the fans in the world are cheering for him.

I do not believe that WWE is going to do a lot to keep RVD, since they are grooming C.M Punk to take over the ECW headlining spot. That seems to be the case tuesday to tuesday.

TNA Impact Review 4/27/07 Sting vs. Angle Letdown

Tna Wrestling seems to be worse than the WWE at making decisions for their matches.

That’s right. I said it.

Sting Vs. Kurt Angle

This should have been the dream match of a lifetime! Sting vs. Angle should have stolen the show. Instead it turns into a double dq within less than 10 minutes of the bell ringing. What kind of stuff is that?

We get a headlock, a reversal, then action spilling outside of the ring, and then Team Cage drops in and ruins the hole thing. Why TNA, why?

Then we get an announcement that Christian Cage will wrestle Sting for the belt tonight on impact!

Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt v. Kaz & Alex Shelley v. Senshi & Shark Boy
(This is a Suicide Stampede, meaning you can't tag in your own partner. Winners will square off in a Triple Threat with Chris Sabin at Sacrifice for the X Division Title.)

Jay Lethal is no longer Jay Lethal, he’s Black Machismo which is a complete rip-off of the Macho Man Randy Savage. Complete mannerisms and all, which is upsetting to me, but he does a good job emulating the superstar.

The match had so many high spots and no psychology, that I felt somewhat odd. It was a spot fest, and not really a good match in that regard. However, It was more enjoyable than most WWE Cruiserweight title matches.

Sonjay Dutt & Black Machismo win the match.

The match later on is said to be one of those famous stipulation matches where no one can interfere or the title will change hands.

A segment airs, but I go to the bathroom, as I hear it is not a match.

Team 3-D vs. Steiner & Tomko

This match is your typical tag match. If you have seen one Team 3-D match you’ve seen them all. These are big guys, so they do not move very fast, but it is still action packed. After some offense from the heel’s, Team 3-D hits the 3-D and get the win over the two big men.

Sting vs. Christian Cage (Championship Match)

An ok match, fast paced and lacking substance, but at least TNA stayed true and did not cop out a non-title match at the end. It was a full title match. The ending came when Kurt Angle ran down with his neck brace on and attacks Cage allowing him to retain the title. Sting gets the bat and hits Angle, causing the match to get even more interesting, although he did lose already.
The overall review of Impact is mediocre. It is not a second to WWE in a lot of ways. I do admire the fact that they stuck to their guns and let there be a world title match at the end with the title being on the line, even though I do not agree with the DQ decision.

Tna Impact Preview 4/26/07

For the first time ever on national television and anywhere else:

Sting vs. Kurt Angle!

This is a big announcement. But will TNA deliver a good match, or will it get the old “Heel Run In” campaign? It seems that TNA is delivering bad things on impact and then trying to rebuild confidence in their products on their ppv events.

Kurt Angle has proven that he is no slouch in the wrestling ring, and Sting has still got a lot of moves left in him. But will that be enough to conquer the Wrestling machine?

I guess for once, I’ll have to tune into Tna Impact tonight to find out!

Vince McMahon Scared

“Vince McMahon is terrified of letting anyone go to TNA, which is why there has been tremendous heat on guys like Carlito for interviews that they've done and few are ever fired (though Carlito is doing jobs left and right, and Orton is almost certainly doing the job Sunday).”

Why in the world is the WWE scared of losing Randy Orton? He has failed to produce compelling matches with even the best of veterans. Remember the title reign he had? Not even Benoit and HHH could carry Orton into a decent match. He’s good as a tag team specialist with Edge, but that’s only because Edge is stellar at this point.

Orton might generate some major heel heat, but not enough to warrant all the attention he gets. He’s basically untouchable. Destroy a hotel room, and what now? You have to lose at the PPV? There was no way he was going to win anyways.

Raw Preview 4/16/07 and TNA Notes

As the Raw train heads into town, Rated RKO will face John Cena in a handicap match! can Rated RKO handle Cena's onslaught, or will RKO's recent problems cause major confusion as Orton is green with envy over not becoming the #1 contender last week on raw.

Also what is Coach going to have up his sleeve over the ECW championship situation, as well as the McMahons! Tune into the even tonight as it airs live.

I'll have a review and commentary sooner than later.

I heard the TNA-NWA Lockdown 2007 pay per view was amazing. Sting is going to face Christian Cage for the World Title at the next pay per view and The Dudleys have won the world championship title, but not without a lot bumps.

I'll have to watch the replay and give commentary soon.

Vince Russo Should Get Fired

If you aren't sure who Vince Russo is, you're missing out. He's the creative guy that brought all the great matches and ideas to WWF in the 90's. He was a great charismatic intelligent booker, and then he left.

He came back to a falling WCW and he tried to work his magic, and it didn't work, as attendance continually dropped, and the momentum of beating Raw for 80 some odd weeks was gone too.

Nothing could save the company, and what ended up happening? They are no longer with us.

Is this what is happening to NWA-TNA? I sure hear the fans chanting for it.

Tna is Hush Hush

"TNA has declined to comment on accusations of Kurt Angle receiving steroids from Florida's Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center. As we reported earlier, Angle received these steroids while he was under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Both The Associated Press and ESPN have mentioned Angle noting his Olympic gold medal."

Why be quiet? Just tell them that Kurt Angle isn't on the steroids now. Or something.

Then again they have Big Poppa Pump.

The rumor has it, that while WWE tried to make Scott Steiner take a Steroid's test before continuing to perform with them. Steiner replied simply, make HHH take one at the same time.

The WWE dropped the idea.

So instead of just offering some solace to the situation, it was all taken care of and Steiner was released after a few matches with HHH.

Remember that when Steiner joined, they immediately threw him to the main event.

Do steroids help?

It seems to be likely.

More on this news at it develops.

Kurt Angle vs. Steroids

"Kurt Angle, a 1996 Olympic gold-medal-winning freestyle wrestler and now a star professional wrestler, received two prescriptions for trenbolone and one for nandrolone between October 2004 and February '05. (Angle did not return messages left with his spokesman.)"

According to Sports Illustrated this guy was doing quite a bit more than just merely wrestling. And they wonder why he gets so mad so fast? It appears that he's taking more than aspirin, and I for one am not surprised.

This guy is world champion and at the same time Test gets fired for the same thing? Or well...gets out for steroids.

I'm not a big fan of test, but as you can see I'm not going to favor Angle at all. He's got the charisma of a stale fish, but if they hook him up with the World's greatest tag team, I may come around again. Until then, Too bad Kurt. You should have said your prayers and taken your vitamins...now look at the bad publicity?

All this courtesy of sports illustrated online. Wow, a source that's not just my ranting about wrestling!

That's right.

Konnan Still Needs a Kidney

Konnan, international superstar, still needs a Kidney.

Konnan was the #1 box office draw in Mexico's Lucha Libre circuit. He also wreslted in WCW, and was a member of the NWO and even had his own stable at one point with Rey Mysterio Jr. and now what? Did he blow all his money? Did he squander his friendships?

I heard that some fans actually want to donate their kidney's to this guy. This is ridiculous. If you're working for TNA wake up! The company doesn't have the money to pay for a top star to get medical attention, then they should just stop trying to produce such a lousy project. What company, banks on the talents of their employees and doesn't offer some sort of medical help? Even my piece of crap video store job offers me some help with medical bills.

Ok, so instead of being harder on the guy, I'm going to just say that this is a dissapointing endeavor. I feel bad for the guy, because when he was in Los ANgeles, he did his best to perform in front of a mexican audience and myself in the front.

I'm rambling because it bugs me that this guy doesn't have a new kidney yet. Maybe I should see if I'm compatable.
