CM Punk vs. Undertaker Wrestlemania 30 Confirmed

The news right now is that CM PUNK has left the WWE.

If he has in fact left, could it be that he is going to wrestle Undertaker one more time at Mania?

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in that way. Punk isn't gone, he may have gone home but that's only because The Undertaker is coming back.

It will be Punk going after the streak 1 more time. Why not Lesnar? Because Punk vs Taker 2 could be the show stealer that everyone is not expecting or talking about.

Last year I was way off with Sting vs. Undertaker.

This year, Sting has reportedly signed with wwe.

Well, here it is, I'm going to lay it out yet again and go bold with my prediction.

The Rock Sucks

Blu Ray Royal Rumble 2013 sale

3 Reasons Why I Hate The Rock’s Return

I have been a little quiet lately because I haven’t had a lot of time to update this blog. I write 30 articles a day for a variety of clients and at the end of my 8-hour shifts, I don’t have time to watch any wrestling, even though I wanted to. I wasn’t too upset that CM Punk dropped the belt to the Rock at the Royal Rumble, it was a fun match and it really had me entertained. It was the first pay per view that I had ordered in years and was glad that I could pay for it out right. However, I did notice that there are several things that I didn’t like about the return of the Crock….er I mean the Rock.

3 Things I Hate About The Rock

  • He Doesn’t Wrestle That Much – First and foremost, you will have to look at Chris Jericho. Jericho returned to a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble match and nearly won it all. The next night on Raw he wrestled, than he wrestled throughout the week and even though this week, which is more than Rock has done since his 1 match. He’s had more matches back than the WWE champion CROCK! He doesn’t just go out and talk he goes into the ring and puts on entertaining matches. One might argue that Punk didn’t wrestle that much, but before his injury he was wrestling every week, putting on instant classics, and even in the new year he wrestled Ryback in an awesome ladder match. Simply put, Rock doesn’t wrestle for free, he jokes around and looks like a horses ass.
  • He’s Yesterday’s News – Cena was right, Rock doesn’t care about the people nor does he care about the wrestling world. He left, he even didn’t want to be called “THE ROCK” at first, and now he all of a sudden wants to come back? Not only that, he topples Cena at WrestleMania, and now he’s the champion, that makes no sense. What a crock. He hasn’t shown that he cares at all and it is exhibited in the way he puts on boring segments that are NOT wrestling on a wrestling show.
  • The Rock is overrated – There, I said it. Much like I have said many times that The Undertaker’s streak is overrated, the Rock is overrated. He hasn’t had a quality match in ages and in fact, I don’t remember one solitary entertaining match that the rock had without Steve Austin in the main event. That’s right.

Maybe I’m being a little too harsh on the guy, but I have yet to be entertained by him in his latest run. If you like him, awesome, I don’t. I believe that Punk should get his revenge, Rock should get fed to Taker and Taker should walk away happy. Good riddance.

Well, until next time, drop me a line, what are your thoughts, I am often times wrong you know. I must admit, I probably would buy The Royal Rumble 2013 Blu Ray here.

This Week In Pro Wrestling 12/18/10

This is my first and new commentary post that I will be doing each week as a way to not only add content to this blog but also run down what were the highlights in professional wrestling this week.

Memorable Moments

Raw

This week started out with the Slammy Awards edition of Raw. They said it was 3 hours, but it was really only about 2 hours and 10 minutes or so. The most memorable thing from Raw had to be John Cena and David Otunga.

John Cena defeated David Otunga in a major beat down match, and although I've seen this match before, I found that the dynamic between Nexus and Otunga seems to be the better story than just Cena getting rehired. I would love to see Wade Barrett get ousted as the leader much like NWO got split, and Nexus beat up Wade Barrett, turning him into the ultimate good guy along Cena...the unlikely team. A swerve angle might work there too, but Cena not trusting the new Wade would be interesting to say the least.

David Arquette coming back was interesting for me, although many people didn't see the point. It was a nice throwback, if you ask me, and from what I read about the backstage reaction, many people liked him.

Superstars

Zack Ryder defeated Darren Young in an interesting match. If you missed it, than you are not in the minority at else. Supserstars is not exactly the A list show and the ratings for it are terrible. I managed to see it, and out of all the wrestling this week, I think I enjoyed this match too much for my own good.

TNA Impact

Jay Lethal and Robbie E put on one hell of a match. I actually loved it so much and what made it better than their ppv match was the fact that Christy Hemme ran down to help Jay Lethal. Hemme is hot, I'd love to meet her and she seems like she would have a lot of energy and would chat my ear off. Jay Lethal recapturing the X-Division title was a good thing, but where TNA will go with the title and whether there will be a follow up to the Shark Boy thing at the ppv, time will only tell.

WWE Smackdown

The Miz and Rey Mysterio really put on a show in the middle of the card. I enjoyed that match greatly and they booked it to make Miz seem a lot smarter than his "vulnerable" champion gimmick that he said the WWE was trying to push him. Mysterio is still very popular with the whole crowd, and despite losing, he came out on top, especially later on in the night.

I'm glad to see the WWE finishing the Edge and Kane angle, and hopefully their feud is done, because it has been terrible.

Best Match of the Week

The best match of this week was definitely Robbie E vs. Jay Lethal for the X-Division title. It wasn't a four star classic, but I think it had some good overall wrestling, a great superplex, and controlling cookie was rad. I think the feud could have a little more to it, but time will tell.

The rest of the week in wrestling wasn't that memorable to me, and while there was some solid wrestling, it's forgettable.

Old School Thoughts

For some reason, I was thinking about Kevin Sullivan. Remember him? I remember he had this awesome match at Bash at the Beach 1997 in which he fought Chris Benoit. Benoit and Him transformed real heat backstage into a great retirement match in which Kevin Sullivan truly left wrestling. It's one of my all time favorite matches, and props to Kevin Sullivan for staying away from the wrestling world after he lost the match.

Just look at the promo package between the two, holy crap...the two went fist to fist at one point at Nitro and one can only assume there was real anger for those strikes.

Wrestling Shop

For those of you that have extra change and would like to find something cool to buy that's wrestling related, consider purchasing The Rise and Fall of WCW on Dvd. It features a full documentary of WCW good and bad and some great matches from the WCW era past and present. It's an interesting one, and worth your time. You can buy it here.

Undertaker Injures Kennedy and Gets Him Fired

Mr. Kennedy updated his official site and in it he talks about two instances that are really close to what may (or may not) have happened to him in the WWE that caused his injuries.

What do I think?

It sounds like THE UNDERTAKER injured Kennedy overseas or at a house show with an arm lock. What do you think?

Read Kennedy's blog post below:

"If I take a sledgehammer and SMASH you in the side of the head and you get hurt very badly, does that make you "injury prone"?

If I cut off your arm with a samurai sword, and you have to have it reattached (causing you to miss several months of work) are you also then to be considered..."injury prone"?

Well let's say that you're in a match in Italy standing on the apron during a ten man tag match, and a guy is supposed to come over and give you a little forearm which will cause you to drop to the floor, but INSTEAD, he decides to drop kick your ass into the 20th row, he virtually leg presses you off the apron, and you have a "Matrix" like moment in your head where you see yourself flying backwards through the air. You clear the mats that line the floor outside the ring and because you're trying to protect your head from smashing into the guardrail, you stretch your right arm over your head. At the moment you make IMPACT with the concrete floor, your arm stretched out over your head and the sudden stop causes the tendon in your latissimus dorsi (or that big back muscle that you see on bodybuilders, ya know the ones that look like wings...) to SNAP in two and it coils up down your side to the point that's in line with your belly button. Let's say.....hypothetically.......that this happened to you. Would you call yourself...."injury prone"?

Let's throw another "hypothetical situation" out there. Let's say that you're having a match with a guy who's just supposed to give you a lil' old schoolboy to end the match. Just a nice and easy rollup for the finish. In fact the night before he hit you with his finish and the crowd didn't really react as strongly as you would have liked it to, so the agent (or producer) who's in charge of your match that night has told your opponent specifically NOT to hit his finish. Now keep in mind that having said this, your opponent's finisher is probably the furthest thing from your mind. So as you're waiting for this nice little easy rollup for the finish, the guy leaps into the air, hooks your head tight, causing your right arm to get caught between your two bodies, and drives you chest first into the mat. You go from standing to laying on your stomach with your arm stretched across your chest and your shoulder pops out of it's socket, tearing that muscle about 60% away from the bone. Now again, would an event such as this make you......"injury prone"?

Now if something like this HAD ever happened to me (again, these are strictly hypothetical situations), I probably wouldn't say anything about it to anyone. I for one would never want to bury another talent, whine or cry about it, I'd probably just chalk it up to poor judgment, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, rather than accusing someone of being a stiff in the ring. Let's face it, accidents happen in the wrestling business which is why there are countless videos of "wrestling screw-ups" on YouTube. Every once in awhile if you're in the wrestling business, you're gonna get a BOO-BOO."

Over Analyzing Wrestling: Kennedy Gone, Gail Kim Returns

There are a few things going on in my head in regards to wrestling. First and foremost it’s the news that Gail Kim is leaving TNA! This is bound to get more hits than if I were to post about Gail Kim being naked! From what I have read, Gail Kim is leaving because of money and not because she was in any way unhappy with TNA. Will Gail Kim be relegated to just being another diva? Most likely Gail Kim is going to be put on the Raw roster and it’s going to be nice to get her in the mix with Mickie James, The Glamazon and uh…crap…that’s about it. Apparently the WWE thinks that Gail Kim is great enough to offer her a large amount of cash. I like Gail Kim, I hope she has a great time over at WWE and hopefully there’s some great wrestling on Raw and WWE in general from the women’s division.

The second piece of news, is one that is going to get a lot of speculation online. Kennedy’s contract is expiring soon and I believe that WWE might be letting him go. He’s too injury prone, and everytime they push him he gets injured and has to take a lot of time off. He’s off the juice, and while his in ring segments are over, he hasn’t had anything memorable in the ring. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but if Kennedy is gone, will anyone really miss him? I won’t. I barely miss him now.

WWE Fired Colin Delaney. That's right, one of the bright spots on ECW has now gone.

TNA Can't Draw Flies

Looks like TNA is finding themselves in a WCW boat of sorts. From what I can gather, they can't draw outside of Florida, and there's some definitive evidence to back it up now. Apparently 4,000 FREE tickets were given away for a TNA event recently. TNA hasn't ventured far from the lot of the old WCW stomping grounds, but this is just ridiculous.

When was the last time people were given free tickets to a major/minor wrestling show, in recent history? If you guessed XPW, you'd be correct. Apparently TNA can't draw what they believe they can, and while they have slick production values, and a ppv a month, they can't compete with WWE in the grand scheme of things.

It looks like those of us on the west coast will probably never see TNA.

Furthermore, TNA isn't even getting to where ECW was when on TNN. I distinctly remember ECW running shows in California, sold out, with no free tickets given away.

TNA has a long way to go before stepping up to Vince McMahon, that's for sure.

CM Punk Buried Alive

CM Punk Buried Alive

CM Punk has always been talked about by writers as a wrestler that was hated by the WWE. From stories that featured Stephanie McMahon calling him the king of the indies, but horrible in WWE, to recent reports that CM Punk has a lot of backstage heat.

CM Punk is good, and doesn’t need some ridiculous gimmick to go over. It’s also interesting to note that he is actually a good wrestler, given his size, and hasn’t been involved in any major injuries. He can even elevate his opponents at time, and made the ECW championship somewhat exciting to watch.

However, with Jeff Hardy losing the title push, and CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank match, the WWE is not in a position that they imagined.

So what do they do?

They bury CM Punk and his money in the bank title shot.

CM Punk is most likely not going to win any championship he goes for, and without socializing in the “drinking” game that goes on with the wrestlers behind the scene’s, CM Punk might end up getting fired and going to TNA sooner than later.

This of course is all speculation, as I am not working backstage at WWE, and I only know so much….so take all this for what it is.

Tito Ortiz And WWE

Tito Ortiz

Rumor has it Tito Ortiz could in fact come into WWE. This is of course not the first time a UFC wrestler or MMA wrestler has joined the ranks of the WWE. The most notable of mma stars to join was none other than Ken Shamrock. Shamrock came into the WWE with a no holds barred gimmick, then quickly escalated into a feud with The Rock over the WWF Intercontinental Championship, before joining forces with The Corporation and other factions and eventually leaving WWE after a long run to return to MMA.

We also have seen Tito Ortiz work in TNA before, and while I had my reservations, he came across really strong to me, while there.

We also saw Dan The Best Severn in WWE for a limited amount of time, even coming out during that huge Survivor Series tournament that crowned The Rock WWE Champion by defeating a comeback kid of sorts...Mick Foley.

Here's an old interview with Tito Ortiz about competing in TNA:

So what's next?

UFC's contract with TITO expires this weekend, and he's not exactly thrilled about how UFC has treated Tito.

I'm not sure what goes on behind the scenes over there, but I loved his feud with Ken Shamrock, that's for sure.

Will WWE capitalize on this guy?

Is he worth it?

Maybe.

But the divas might see a little more of Jenna Jameson, because we all know that her and Tito are together.

All this is just in the air, I'm not sure if WWE is in a position to bank on anyone coming in and disrupting what they have.

On the other hand, TNA has Angle, and Tito could be his hired gun...only to turn on him later down the road.

Or this all could be marketing ploys by UFC to force a higher payout.

Or I could just be making it all up...but then again, why would I?

You can find out a more relevant story about this at the WWE Characters Blog, because I'm starting to ramble.

Michael P.S Hayes Racist

Of course he's a racist!

Why are people so bent out of shape over Michael Hayes calling Mark Henry the "N" word?

The Freebirds used to come out to entrance music that was overtly confederate, as well as coming out on many occasions even had southern/confederate colors....then I found this video, and I'm an idiot...

Mr. Hayes is the writer for Smackdown, and he's suspended for his lame comments.

SO WHAT!

Screw Mark Henry, and fire him immediately!

Mark Henry sucks.

C.M Punk Doghouse, WWE Hd, and Oakley? (news and rumors)

Is C.M PUnk in the Doghouse? Some are saying that he is, and that he is going to be there for a while. Apparently he's botching moves, laughing about it, and not listening to the road agents in the wwe. Ouch. That would explain why he has lost the ECW title, he lost to edge, and is now chasing the ECW?

Wait a minute!

That doesn't make sense to me. If he really is in fact in the doghouse, why is he even on ECW with Chavo? I liked the Pinata angle, I think that's what feuds are based on.

Oh well.

Crunchgear.com had a cool post about wwe hd. I don't get hd, but I think it's a smart move on the wwe's behalf.

Oakley sunglasses has an awesome ad campaign coming. Here's a sample...ooooh...ah....

Did Samoa Joe Shoot?

Everyone is discussing this hot topic and after hearing the comments that Samoa Joe made at the Turning Point ppv, I'm wondering myself; Did Samoa Joe shoot?

I don't know.

His comments were basically what every fan of TNA has been thinking for a long time.

The notion that the older, has beens from WCW and WWE glory are coming into TNA and thinking they could just do whatever they want without any sort of problems is ludicrous. Not only that, this comes in light of the fact that Scott Hall no showed.

From what I have heard, this also caused some problems back stage after Samoa Joe's rant went on.

In the back, they had a meeting, in which TNA management gathered all the wrestlers contracts and basically said that anyone that was not happy with the direction of TNA could speak up and they would void their contract on the spot.

Who left?

Senshi.

And everyone else stood there and shut their mouths.

Samoa Joe shooting seems like a low tactic by TNA to drum up controversy, in the same fashion that WCW did post 2000 and a major factor in how WCW fell and was eventually bought out by Vince McMahon.

Y2J Chris Jericho Rumor Killer

Someone out there reported that Y2J was given an official draft of a new contract in light of recent injuries. However, that is not true.

That's right. Chris Jericho is a great wrestler, and unfortunately lost a "loser leaves wwe" match with John Cena and has not been seen or heard from since in the wrestling world.

Without Kennedy,Undertaker, and Orton being dumb, can the WWE afford not to sign up the biggest free agent in the world of wrestling?

Where else will he go?

TNA is an option, but have you seen their programming lately?

It leaves a lot to be desired and I'm wondering why people put up with the doldrums that is the undermining of talent.

AAA? Mexico? WSX?

All three options are a no go. Jericho is a high profile wrestler and as such deserves a high rate of payment.

As much as I would like to see Y2J return, I doubt he's going to make it back.

But here's another rumor that you may or may not have heard yet: THE WWE are eyeballing a return of Y2J for Summerslam.

But there is also talks of HHH coming back, so will a y2j return ruin that? Maybe.

Time will tell.
