WWE Smackdown Live October 16, 2018 Results and Review Smackdown 1000

Rey Mysterio Is Back in 2018 - Source WWE
We open up a show with the McMahon’s on Truth Tv, just in case you forgot the real stars of WWE. This went forward with antics as you’d expect, with lots of cheers, boos, and random interruptions, and more. The full McMahon family, with the exception of Linda come out for Truth TV. I won’t go play by play, but it’s just the McMahon doing their characters overall, nothing crazy I guess. I had to put on headphones and listen to music instead.

The Usos defeated Daniel Bryan and Aj Styles

The obvious finish here, but otherwise a good match with a lot of back and forth between the two teams. You can’t expect the champion and challenger to be a good team against two brothers. Plus, they are pushing the Styles versus Bryan title match that is coming up. So in that regard, this was a good match, with some nice back and forth, that’s for certain.

Evolution Segment

No, not the women’s show, it was the original guys of Evolution cutting promos about themselves and the future. I guess it was ok. They all talked, and Batista teased a match with Triple H for mania, although it isn’t set in stone of course.

The Miz defeated Rusev

This was a short match, and it ended with a distraction roll up. Notice how little wrestling was on this show folks. Afterwards Rusev beat up Aiden English, since he caused the distraction as he confronted Lana.

The Cutting Edge Segment

Meh. Edge is overrated. This was ok at best.

The Bar defeated The New Day for the WWE Smackdown Tag Titles

This was a good match as per usual, but then out came The Big Show and threw Kofi through a table, and helped The Bar win the titles. I guess this is a heel turn now? Great. Not a terrible match until The Big Slow came out.

Rey Misterio defeated Shinsuke Nakamura

Now this, this is a dream match, and we finally got Rey coming back to the WWE, which I think is amazing. The match started with Nakamura going strong style against the smaller opponent, hitting hard knees, trying to unbalance Rey, and working over the body and knees of Mysterio. However, Mysterio bounced back with hard strikes as well, and he was not going to down with a strong battle, and it was a good fight through. Rey Misterio would get the win after a 619 and a Frog Splash from the top, and that was that. Nakamura didn’t put much of a challenge in this one, that’s for sure. Good match overall, with Nakamura getting busted open at one point, and well that was that.

Smackdown 1,000 was not great.

Oh yeah, I forgot, The Undertaker showed up at the end, and did a promo, which was ok at best. I’m tired of seeing him. I hope he retires soon.

WWE Smackdown Live July 31, 2018 Results and Review

Charlotte Flair vs Carmella - Source WWE
A cold opening? Woa, that's odd.

WWE Smackdown Live July 31, 2018 Results and Review

The show opened with Becky Lynch cutting a promo in ring with Renee Young. But then out came Carmella, and she had the mic, but things aren't the same without Ellsworth if you ask me. Ellsworth's music hit and that was a distraction for Carmella to beat down Lynch, and that was that.

Out came Charlotte Flair to help fight off Carmella, and that was that. The end. Flair came back, Ellsworth was no where to be found, and that was that.

No wrestling on this show for the first 10 minutes, which is an interesting thing to note.

The Bar defeated The Usos

In a good back and forth match, The Bar was able to take out The Usos and get themselves an advanced placement for the Smackdown tag team title tournament. I'm assuming that they are going to take on the New Day next, but for the moment, The Usos went down in a heap. The Bar is great together, and this match wasn't half bad, if you ask me. I liked it. It's perhaps the best tag team match on WWE this week. A bold statement for sure.

Samoa Joe Cut A Promo

I'm so tired of the amount of talking that are on these shows. I just don't think they are necessary. Joe is good here, but I don't care.

Jeff Hardy Cut A Promo

I kid you not, there was NO wrestling for more than 20 - 30 minutes of this show. Jeff Hardy came out and cut a promo on Randy Orton. Who gives a crap? This is supposed to be a wrestling show! Geez. Randy Orton came out, but before he could do anything, Shinsuke Nakamura kicked him from behind then beat him up, and that was it. Orton then stayed in the ring after Nakamura left, and well, Orton just dropped Hardy and that was that. Orton gave him a beat down, and that was that.

Zelina Vega defeated Lana

This was a poor match, but Zelina is hot. Lana lost because Aiden English tried to help, when Andrade was interfering on the apron. Either way, this was a bad match, and if you like Zelina, she came out on top.

Guess What happened next?! More Talking!

Daniel Bryan and The Miz traded things verbally, while Miz was on a TV, Bryan was in the ring. Sigh. I'm so tired of talking on wrestling shows.

Charlotte Flair defeated Carmella

Ugh. So Becky Lynch was supposed to get a one on one shot at Carmella, but now, no more. Since Flair defeated Carmella in a crappy match to end Smackdown, we now get a triple threat match at Summerslam, and that probably will mean that Carmella can retain without having to do a lot of the work. I didn't see this match going that way, but hey, if they want to do a triple threat, why not? I'm tired of multi-person matches.

That was the end of Smackdown. It had more talking than anything else.

WWE Smackdown Live July 10, 2018 Results and Review The B Show Featuring Hell No

Ellsworth Escapes - SRC WWE dot com
Smackdown Live was in my school's arena, and I wasn't able to go. But hey, there was a good night of wrestling planned, too bad it didn't turn out the way it was advertised, at least not at first. I'll get to all of that.

WWE Smackdown Live July 11, 2018 Results and Review

The show opened up with MIZTV, and of course it would, why not? The Miz brought out Team Hell No, and the crowd was in an uproar. I'm personally tired of this already, but I guess nostalgia is what it is sometimes. The new Hell No team shirt is stupid. Can't Kane just go be mayor now?

Daniel Bryan wanted to beat up Miz, but Kane stopped him, and then we saw some back and forth about Kane and what not. Then Miz got nearly choked out by Kane, before the Bludgeon Brothers came out and Sanity stormed the ring. They started to beat down Kane and Bryan, and the show began with a brawl featuring all the bad guys against Kane and Daniel Bryan. It was just a beat down until The New Day ran down to make the save.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Aj Styles were ready to battle, but after they made their introductions, out came Rusev and Aiden English.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Aj Styles ended in a no contest

This wasn't that bad of a match at all, and it really just had a lot of back and forth. It was a good option, but things got a bit difficult when Aiden English got involved. Aj Styles hit him hard, then Rusev jumped Aj, and that led Nakamura to team up with the bad guys to beat up AJ. But that's when Jeff hardy ran out and tried to mop things up. Hardy beat up Rusev and Nakamura, and then Paige came out and said that we are going to have a straight up tag match! Just like Teddy Long would create! I kid you not.

Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jeff Hardy and Aj Styles

This was a short match, it was not that great. But it served to get the bad guys a win before the big PPV this weekend. It was a good little match, for what it was, and it had a few back and forth elements. I didn't mind the loss for the good guys, but I doubt that either one is going to win this weekend. Well, maybe Nakamura will get gold, but other than that, I don't know what's going to go on at the PPV. As for this match, it was fine, an ok television match, so there's that.

Asuka defeated James Ellsworth in a Lumberjack Match

Well, this was shorter than I thought, and it ended like I thought it would end. Asuka made Ellsworth tap out, and that was that. Nothing big here. Afterwards Carmella attacked Asuka.

Andrade Cien Almas defeated Sin Cara

This was a fast paced, short match. Sin Cara had a few moments, but it was mostly the showcase of Andrade Cien ALmas, and that's it. He won with his finisher and that was the end. Nothing fancy, a big win, and that's it.

Team Hell No and The New Day defeated Sanity and The Bludgeon Brothers

This wasn't a great match, but it worked out like nearly all 10 man tag team matches that I have seen. The good guys were all over the bad guys, and of course the Fan Favorites needed to look strong going into the PPV, so they won. Everyone hit their finishers, Team Hell No and The New Day were getting a lot of praise, and that was that. Nothing major here, just a lot of fast paced finishing moves, and the Yes Chants. A fun, fast paced match, no doubt, but honestly, it just left me with the feeling of, meh.

The B show is all that Smackdown is to me. Almas finally got a match, which was great. No sign of Tye Dillinger, though, and others that were drafted. The women's revolution is back to full circle, beating up a random stooge, and that's that. Oh well.

WWE The Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 Results and Review

Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 Results and Review - SRC wwe
The opening of the show was definitely interesting, with a kick off panel of all men, and then we got into the crowd filing in, and I was absolutely stunned. This is a huge stadium, and there’s a ton of people in the crowd, and it truly was epic to see Saudi Arabia’s support for the WWE. WE started with the national anthems of both Saudi Arabia and The United States before the event took place. No singers, just the sound, and that was it. We went live at noon, and well, I don’t usually do this, but this review is being written as I watch the show! That’s right, going back to the old school.

WWE The Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 Results and Review

The crowd was electric to start, and the WWE spent a lot of money on pyro. This felt far more like Wrestlemania than anything else. The crowd was going nuts, and I loved it, this was a great crowd, and truly something interesting to see.

John Cena defeated Triple H

I wasn’t sure who was going to go over on this one, but it was interesting to see the two work a different style. They started a little slower than usual, and the crowd was all over this one. After some methodically placed fighting, Triple H couldn’t get Cena down for the 3 count, and eventually lost to three Attitude Adjustments across several points in the match. This was a fun little match, with Cena winning and that’s it. The crowd was all Cena at times, and Triple H had fans too, it was fun. The crowd was all in with this, and I was too. Fun match, and it was definitely a good opener.

Cedric Alexander defeated Kalisto in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match

This was a great back and forth match with Kalisto throwing out everything he had. The two went back and forth with relative ease, and there was a lot of attention to the speed and frequency of the match. Alexander was able to retain, but not without a heavy duty fight with Kalisto hitting some of his greatest hits, including a variation of the Spanish Fly that I haven’t seen in WWE, with a spring board effect. That was quite good. The Lumbar Check was hit, and Kalisto would lose to the champ, and that was it. This had a good flow to it, but they weren’t as over as the previous guys, obviously. A good match none the less.

Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy defeated The Bar in the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match

Wow, well, that was something else. The guys were working in half-speed if you ask me. The Bar was able to throw in a lot of attacks, but Wyatt and Hardy were quick to counter the fight left and right, and it was interesting to see them work together. Hardy and Wyatt worked very well here, while The Bar was missing their offense and getting things reversed at times. It’s interesting to see how many of the moves were reversed or missed, and of course that led to Wyatt and Hardy getting the big win, and that’s that. Not my favorite match, but not a terrible one either. It was a good television match at best.

Jeff Hardy defeated Jinder Mahal in the United States Championship Match

This was an interesting match with a lot of upside to it. Hardy was able to get the upper hand after Jinder Mahal was throwing lefts and rights, and even a distraction from one of the Singh brothers. While this was a decent match, it wasn’t great, and the fans were way into Hardy over Mahal. While I didn’t think it was stellar, there was enough here to make it worth checking out. Hardy is always fun to watch, and Jinder has finally been hindered. Hardy wins, Mahal goes down, it’s that simple.

The Bludgeon Brothers defeated The Usos in the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match

Well, I didn’t expect the ending that we got here. The Usos didn’t go down without a big fight, though, although the match wasn’t that long. The Usos were just not powerful enough to get the win here, and the bigger men took everything that the Usos had and still couldn’t get the job done. The Bludgeon Brothers took them down with high power, and constant moves forward, which was a nice touch. The big guys win, the Usos go down, and that’s that. An ok match, but nothing too stellar, and now it’s time for a bathroom break if you ask me.

Seth Rollins defeated Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, and The Miz

Well, well, this was a hard hitting match with a lot of bruises being left on the guys. Finn was busted wide open, Rollins had his ribs nearly smashed in, Joe had his head smacked hard on the ladders, the Miz took some major shots on the back and face, and it was a hard hitting affair. This was back and forth, with lots of great overall flurries, and in the end, it was Seth Rollins that got the big win with cat like reflexes, and that was fun. Rollins got a huge reaction too, and it was fun to see him win this one.

The WWE introduced 4 new athletes from Saudi Arabia, and they were getting cheered. But out came the Daivari Brothers to immense heat!

The recruits bonded together and beat up the Daivari brothers to a lot of cheers and great reaction. This was a cool little segment, and the Saudi Arabian new recruits got a lot of praise from the crowd, and it was fun to see.

Aj Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura ended in a double countout in the WWE Championship Match

I don’t know what is wrong with these two, but they lack the chemistry that they did in NJPW. This match wasn’t that great, and I was actually kind of bored through the match. I didn’t really have a lot of reason to like this, as the two seemed to be working at half speed at times, and the logic was thrown out the window at times. It was slow, and methodical, but without any real passion for me. I ended up nearly falling to sleep, but out of the blue a low blow, and some fighting outside caused a double count out and the match was over. I guess that’s a good thing. Overall, not a terrible match, but definitely far from great, and a double countout? Ok, I’ll take it.

The Undertaker defeated Rusev with Aiden English in a Casket Match

Well, well, The Undertaker got a huge ovation, but he was looking old, and tired. The Undertaker allowed for a little more of a match than Wrestlemania, but it was obvious that he isn’t the same guy, as the past. He was able to take on Rusev and drop Aiden English and Rusev into the casket and that was that. A slow moving match with the ending that featured the end of English and Rusev. This was not a fun match, it was slow, but it featured a good performance overall from Taker, given his limitations, and well, it made the crowd feel happy, and that’s ok with me. I hope he retires.

Brock Lesnar defeated Roman Reigns in a steel cage match for the WWE Universal Championship

The match was overall the same as you’d expect with other matches that these guys have had. I didn’t expect the final moments, and that was shocking overall. Over the course of the match, there were a lot of F5’s a lot of Spears and Superman punches and it was insane, Roman took a serious beating. But here’s the thing, the match ended when Roman speared Lesnar through the cage and onto the floor! It was a stellar bump, no doubt, and Lesnar got hit hard, and it looked like it hurt overall, including Lesnar looking like he got the wind knocked out of him or at least knocked out, with Roman looking like he pulled his shoulder too, and that was that. Lesnar hit the ground first, which meant that Lesnar is still the champion. I don’t like the finish, I don’t like Lesnar, but wow, that was a brutal finish.

Braun Strowman Won The Greatest Battle Royal

What was one of the longest Royal Rumble Matches, we got to see a huge event pull through 50 guys, and some missing of course. There was fire works, there were 50 super stars and so much more. This was an interesting match for sure, and lots of stories could have been told, but the biggest ones were with Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, Elias, and others. Daniel Bryan was nearly at the end, he was in the final 3, and it was all over when Braun Strowman took out Big Cass, right after Cass eliminated Daniel Bryan. Bryan’s chest was blistered and just awful, which was interesting overall. Shane got through threw a table, and well, the whole night was fun, but of course Braun Strowman would win big here.

At the end of the day, I had a good time with this, but probably because I was working at the same time. It was a fun romp, but nothing that I would want to do annually. Some may think it was a glorified house show. I thought it was fun, and well worth the hype. I would give it a B rating, just because it was fun, and that’s it. There were some dry spots, no doubt, but overall, this is a lot of action and a lot of WWE overall. I didn’t hate it, I want to express that clearly. It wasn’t as good as Mania, but hey, it was a fun romp none the less.

WWE Smackdown April 17, 2018 Results and Review The B Show Gets Jacked

Joe Buries Sin Cara - SRC WWE
Well, here we go, another day has passed, and before I begin talking about anything I want to say that it’s unfortunate to hear about the death of Bruno Sammartino. He has passed, and it’s a sad day for sure. If you’re a fan of wrestling, then you know that this is a big deal. RIP Bruno! RIP! We’ll see you in heaven brother.

WWE Smackdown April 17, 2018 Results and Review

A lot went down in an hour and a few minutes of Smackdown. People keep saying that it’s 2 hours, but it’s not. When you cut commercials out, you get about 1 hour and 20 minutes of programming, and sometimes less. Whatever the case may be, there was a lot shoved into this night of wrestling.

Aj Styles defeated Rusev via disqualification

The starting of the show had Aj Styles doing a promo but was interrupted by Rusev and Aiden English. That prompted a match between the Bulgarian Lion and Styles, but it ended when English jumped in and started to beat down Styles. That prompted a save from Daniel Bryan, and that would setup the final match later in the evening.

Jeff Hardy defeated Shelton Benjamin

Benjamin cut one hell of a heel program and then asked anyone to come down. Randy Orton showed up first, but was thwarted by Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy is now officially on Smackdown Live, and he ran down with the belt to challenge Benjamin with the title on the line. This was a compelling back and forth match, and it really showed the talents of both men. I loved it, and it could very well be one of the best matches of the week. Hardy would win with his final moves, but wow, Benjamin had some answers for the offense.

Harper defeated Jey Uso

The Usos were buried here, there’s no two ways about it.

Carmella Threw a Mellabration

Carmella’s little party was ok to say the least.

Samoa Joe defeated Sin Cara

Sin Cara got buried by Samoa Joe, and Joe threw down one hell of a promo.

Charlotte Flair defeated Billie Kay

Flair beat down Billie Kay and won with the figure 8, but after the match, out came Peyton Royce to beat down Flair. She was saved by Asuka, whom is now on the Smackdown Live brand. Not a great match at all.

Aj Styles and Daniel Bryan vs. Rusev and Aiden English ended in a no contest when Shinsuke Nakamura and Big Cass interfered

This wasn’t too bad. It was a good back and forth tag with Styles getting most of the action with Rusev and English, until he got the hot tag, and Bryan ran in. Bryan was doing well until Shinsuke Nakamura showed up and low blowed Styles, and then Big Cass interfered and stomped out Bryan. That was how Smackdown ended.

Shinsuke Nakamura was asked why, and he delivered a great line, “no speak English”, and I loved it.

This night seemed packed with stuff, and though it wasn’t a long night of wrestling, it worked well enough for the time frame, and there’s a lot of new faces to expect coming through.

WWE Smackdown Live January 2, 2018 Results and Review The McMahon Hour Continues

Only Image From WWE dot com
I didn’t want to watch Smackdown. I really didn’t. Why should I? I could have told you everything that was going to happen, and it’s hard to suspend disbelief when the show seems to telegraphed. But you know what, let’s talk about it anyways.

WWE Smackdown Live January 2, 2018 Results and Review

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan started the show talking, alongside AJ Styles. That’s it. This was boring to me, but you know what, it’s what I expect now. I just expect being bored by the opening elements. It’s dumb, but it happens, just like Southpark said it would happen.

The Usos defeated Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable

This was an ok match, but there was a big problem. You see, the problem was that you will find Benjamin and Gable would win the titles midway through this match. However, both USOS were complaining and the referees, for the first time ever, went to instant replay and figured out that the USOS were doing twin magic! I hate it. I hated this, and it’s stupid. The Usos would win, simple as that.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Breezango

This didn’t go very well. The Brothers beat them down before the bell rang, and out came The Ascension, only to get buried. The arena was as quiet as can be for a wrestling event not in Japan.

Xavier Woods defeated Aiden English

This was a fun back and forth match, and while it wasn’t going to be Aiden English’s night, it was fun to see him fight Woods. Rusev is way over, but he wasn’t in the tournament. English pulled off the win and Brooks threw down some great moves, including the big elbow off the top which would get him the big win here. English loses, and that’s the end of this.

Riott Squad defeated Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina

This was boring to me. The Riott Squad already lost. So why are they cutting promos and winning now? I’m honestly at a loss. Afterwards the women on the roster brawled, and that was that. I don’t see the big deal with them, they aren’t dominant at all.

Sami Zayn defeated Aj Styles

This was a terrible match, if you ask me. Styles always does well, but with Owens on the outside, Bryan on the outside, and McMahon on the outside was not great. It’s sad that this story is so terrible. I do like Bryan going heel, but honestly, Styles isn’t getting any favors losing every week, and he loses here thanks to a distraction, yet again.

Anyways, this is a terrible forward progression, and Smackdown is a B show compared to Raw if you ask me. It’s just dumb. It set up a three way match for the Rumble with Aj Styles versus Zayn and Owens. It’s nothing grand, and that’s the end.

Want to know why Smackdown is the B Show?

Well, on WWE.com, you didn’t get any pictures updated from the show, meanwhile Raw had hundreds of photographs. Funny how that is.

WWE Smackdown Live December 5, 2017 Results and Review

Tamina vs Charlotte Flair - SRC wwe dot com
The showcase of the immortals was in San Diego, and it wasn’t that fun to watch, unless you loved the teams and random action. I thought the show flowed well, but there is definitely a lackluster element to this week’s show. However, I did like a few things here and there. Once again, I’m reviewing the HULU version, since I’m on the road in Las Vegas.

WWE Smackdown Live December 5, 2017 Results and Review

The starting line of the show was Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn going to the ring and cutting a promo, only to get Randy Orton to show up and hit Owens with an RKO, out of nowhere. That led to Shane McMahon showing up and talking about the show, and the match that will take place in the main event. We’ll go forward.

Rusev and Aiden English defeated The New Day

The New Day came out throwing around pancakes into the crowd, I kid you not. They were throwing pancakes out, and it wasn’t half bad. The match was ok, it wasn’t incredible, but it didn’t suck either. Rusev and Aiden English did manage to fight a better option than the New Day and would even get a nice win for their trouble. They will be added to the Tag Team title match at the next PPV, so it will be quite interesting overall to see how everything goes down.

Bobby Roode defeated Baron Corbin via DQ

This was a lousy match, and I didn’t like it at all. Roode was going through simple motions, but it was Dolph Ziggler that interfered and caused the match to get thrown out. The match was ok, the guys are good in singles matches sometimes, but this was obviously just to setup a triple threat match for the PPV. I’m sure the match will be good, but you’ll probably see Ziggler lose again, as per usual.

The Bludgeon Brothers defeated Adam James and Josh Carr

This was a burial of two jobbers. Nothing else.

Charlotte Flair defeated Tamina

The commentary team kept saying that Tamina was the strongest woman in the WWE, and well, she wasn’t. Charlotte Flair got the win here, and that’s really all you need to know. It was a boring match to say the least.

Randy Orton defeated Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens was handcuffed at ringside. It was funny to see him squirm for the most part, and well it seemed like he wasn’t going to be there for long. He kept fighting it, but eventually had to or he’d be suspended. Well, eventually Zayn brought out some wire cutters and that prompted Owens to get free, and help Zayn, only for Orton to get the upper hand anyways, and get the big win. Orton would win, Zayn would lose, and that was that.

After the match, they announced that Shane McMahon would be the special guest referee for a tag match which would feature Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton versus Owens and Zayn, and if the duo didn’t win, they’d be fired.

That was a result of Shinsuke Nakamura running down to the ring and saving Orton from a beat down.

Overall, not a great night of wrestling, but not the worst night either. It was a quick show, and it ended well enough, but I feel like there’s so many other talents on the roster that you don’t see, like the Perfect 10? What about Mike Kinellis? Where’s Everyone else?

WWE Smackdown Live September 5, 2017 Results and Review The Longest 2 Hours Ever

Dolph Ziggler Was Lame On Smackdown - SRC WWE DOT COM
I had a lot of work to do before I could watch this show. I did manage to get my work done, and I sat through what seemed like the longest 2 hours of wrestling. I wanted to bang my head against the wall, and the highlight for me was simple, my other half asked me, “Shane McMahon looks roided out, and he’s getting botox too”, and that’s that. Hilarious.

WWE Smackdown Live September 5, 2017 Results and Review

Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens Fought Each Other.

The opening was supposed to be the women’s match, but instead, Owens came out and started to talk on the mic about Shane McMahon. Well, before that, he said he would be the special guest referee. But that didn’t happen. McMahon and Owens jabbed on the mic, and then the two started brawling. McMahon vs. Owens will occur, and I’m not happy about it. What a waste of talent.

Natalya defeated Carmella

A roll up. That’s what happened after James Ellsworth distracted things by dropping the Money In The Bank Briefcase. That led Carmella to get on the mic and yell at him, and said they were finish. He was left crying. Natalya is good, but in this match, she wasn’t that great. A roll up? Really? Sigh.

Aiden English defeated Sami Zayn

Oh man, another roll up! What a waste of both talents. I loved the Vaudevillains, and when I saw them at NXT Takeover, I thought for sure they would get a big push in the main event, but alas, nope.

Shane McMahon was suspended indefinitely.

This was dumb. McMahon is suspended, oh well. Vince McMahon will be on Smackdown next week, in Las Vegas!

Baron Corbin defeated Tye Dillinger

This was a lousy match. Tye Dillinger didn’t come out with his full entrance. Not only that, Corbin was loose and sloppy with his moves. Aj Styles was on commentary, and I think that Corbin is supposed to be next fighting him for the title, but of course, he is not going to get that match until Dilllinger gets a shot next week. This was a boring match, and the Corbin train is done for me.

Carmella Kissed James Ellsworth

Ellsworth must’ve loved this. I would have killed to be in that position, and that’s rad. Oh and he got slapped. But he also got one hell of a kiss, which is what I wish I could get from Carmella. Just saying.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Randy Orton

Throughout the night we had vignettes from the two, and they were awkward and terrible. This match wasn’t half bad, but it also wasn’t great. Jinder was watching on, and he cut a promo backstage. Nakamura is great, but only when he’s with good talent, and Orton was up to par. Orton was phoning it in as usual, and after some back and forth, it was Nakamura that got the big win.

The end, right? Yeah, this was a lousy show. Oh! Oh!

Dolph ZIggler Came Out

He was supposed to be doing a new gimmick. Instead he cut a heel promo and then walked away. It’s time for him to get fired. This was a waste.

In this 2 hour show, we had 2 roll ups, a lousy finish with Dillinger, and Nakamura beating Orton to go on to face Jinder Mahal again. Sigh. Just Sigh, this was a terrible night of wrestling, if you can call it that. At least Raw had some good wrestling. Tonight, it wasn’t grand, it just wasn’t grand at all.

WWE Smackdown Live August 1, 2017 Results and Review The Dream Match Killer

This Was Your Finish, But It Was Boring - src wwe.com
This week’s edition of Smackdown was live from Cleveland, Ohio. Just a stone’s throw away from where I live, and I didn’t want to go. Why would I? The quality of Smackdown’s shows has been dropping like crazy, so I didn’t want to jump into this one live, but I needed to write up a review, and so here I am, talking about Smackdown again. This is a night that should’ve been great, but instead, it felt a little flat, and we’re going to discuss it and what not below.

WWE Smackdown Live August 1, 2017 Results and Review

Aj Styles defeated Kevin Owens

This match was probably the worst thing I’ve seen these guys in. They keep putting on matches that are absolutely cringe worthy. They just seem to be working at half speed or something. They don’t seem to be into it, and the ending was goofy as ever. Owens went to swing at Aj Styles and supposedly hit the ref, and the ref didn’t see when Owens’ shoulder was up, getting counted pinned in 3, which would lead to him throwing a tantrum. He yelled at Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, leading to them announcing that Aj Styles would face Kevin Owens yet again, only this time, it’s going to be with guest referee Shane McMahon! Oh joy, oh boy, another match with these guys? They don’t have a lot of chemistry, folks.

Aiden English defeated Sami Zayn

Burials happen a lot, and we saw the burial of Sami Zayn once again occur on Smackdown. The WWE must not like Zayn, because he once again loses, and this time it’s to Aiden English, the singing dude. I don’t like English’s gimmick. I preferred the raucous noise that he was getting as part of the Vaudevillains, which worked. Oh well. This match was fast, and Zayn lost via roll up. Where’s Tye Dillinger, by the way? He was the perfect 10, after all.

Naomi and Becky Lynch defeated Carmella and Natalya

What a waste here. Sure, it was a little entertaining, but it was not great. The women got a few minutes to showcase their work, but it was really rushed, and in the end, the good guys win, and the bad guys lose. I mean girls.

Rusev defeated Chad Gable

Gable put on a good fight against Rusev, but Rusev is a wasted talent. He’s already lost to John Cena multiple times, and he’s scheduled to either get beaten down by Randy Orton or get a quick win, and then move onto I don’t know, nothing? Rusev sucks now, and while Gable had some nice highlights, he’s done now too.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated John Cena

This was a surprise. Shinsuke won this match clean. But John Cena was obviously going half speed and there was miscommunication in the ring. Nakamura got a lot of his spots in, but Cena wasn’t selling that well, and it became painfully obvious that Nakamura was going over. When Cena is not going to win, he doesn’t sell as well, trying to make the other guy look dominant, and it doesn’t bode well for the match. This could’ve been great, but unfortunately, it’s going to be remembered for the fact that Nakamura dropped Cena on his neck, and that’s it.

Post match, exclusively, on WWE.com Baron Corbin showed up and beat up Nakamura. He then got thrown through a table by John Cena.

Smackdown is not good, this was boring at times. It’s just a rushed, boring show that doesn’t utilize all of the talent that they have. Oh, but they did have the Usos mocking The New Day, so that was cool. Day One Ish and all that jazz.

WWE Battleground 2017 Results and Review I Am Way Late Peeps

Holy Crap! - SRC WWE.com

SRC WWE.com - Singh Brothers Worked Their Ass Off Folks
I have to apologize for being so late this week in reviewing the PPV from the weekend. I had a few days off from watching wrestling after the show because it really made me question why I even watch any longer. It’s really that bad. This event was possibly one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen, but you already know that. I am not supposed to be drinking these days, as I’m on depression medication, but I had to get a New Castle to get through this one. Let’s discuss this showcase of well, entertainment, if you can call it that.

Aiden English defeated Tye Dillinger

I love Tye Dilllinger, but you’ll find he’s getting buried all the time. Remember the pop he got at the Royal Rumble? Well that’s gone. Aiden English won this match, and it was a hard hitting one. I was making a pizza when this started, but it wasn’t half bad. I liked it. English finally gets a win, but I miss the pop that Gotch and English got with Blue Pants in Nxt.

The New Day defeated The Usos

Perhaps the best match of the night, with a lot of fighting, kickouts, and great reversals. However, the New Day’s schtick is tired to me. This was a fun match, no doubt, and it’s the best match of the night.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Baron Corbin

Another boring match. These guys didn’t have chemistry together. It was really bad. Corbin loses with a low blow, done and done.

Natalya won a 5 way dance

This was a fast moving, elimination match. It was tired, and I didn’t understand the pacing or the results. It’s a terrible showing for the women, with the exception of Natalya and Becky Lynch.

Kevin Owens defeated Aj Styles

This was a boring match. I was shocked at how bored I was, and the failed finish was terrible.

Breezango gets beat down.

Um, ok.

John Cena defeated Rusev (Flag Match)

This was fun, but John Cena winning was so obvious. Rusev worked his ass off here, and I loved his intensity and look. But you knew that Cena was going to win.

Sami Zayn defeated Mike Kanellis

This was boring. I couldn’t believe it.

Jinder Mahal defeated Randy Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match

The Singh brothers were amazing here. I loved them, and hope one day to meet them. They took on some serious bumps. Much props to Orton too, he looked legitimately injured at one point. I also loved how he was giving it to Jinder at some points. Great Khali came out and wow, I popped huge, and then he helped Jinder, winning the match. Terrible match, but nice surprise at the end. Props to the Singh brothers, wow.

Overall, Battleground was bad. Really bad. But there were a few bright spots that make this not as terrible as some of the things I’ve sat through in my life as a wrestling fan.

WWE Smackdown Live May 3, 2017 Results and Review The B Plus Show Continues

Fake As Hell, Right? - SRC WWE.COM
Smackdown is called the B show, and this week it felt a little more like the B plus show. There was a lot of stuffed into the show, but one thing was missing, Shinsuke Nakamura! Not only that, the tag division was missing a lot too, and well, this was just a fast paced show with a good ending, although predictable as ever if you ask me.

WWE Smackdown Live May 3, 2017 Results

Jinder Mahal defeated Sami Zayn
Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English
Carmella and Natalya defeated Naomi and Charlotte Flair
Dolph ZIggler defeated Sin Cara
Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho for the United States Title

WWE SMackdown Live May 3, 2017 Review

The opening of the show had Chris Jericho and Aj Styles trading barbs about the title. Then Kevin Owens came out and ran his mouth, only to get shut up by Styles. This would set up the United States Championship match for later tonight, with Styles getting the winner. This was absolutely predictable.

Jinder Mahal defeated Sami Zayn

Jinder is no longer hindered, and it’s because he’s on steroids. There is no way you can get a body like his without steroids. I’m sorry. Ryback confirmed it. I am confirming it, Jinder is on the juice. Jinder is not hindered and he buries Sami Zayn in this match.

Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English

Aiden English was buried by Dillinger. Good job.

Carmella and Natalya defeated Naomi and Charlotte Flair

Before the match could start, the welcoming committee beat the hell out of Flair first. Carmella and Natalya then commenced in beating up Naomi for the most part of this match, and ended up with a good amount of filler before Flair dragged herself out to the ring. She still lost for her team, and that was that.

Meanwhile, after the match we had a moment where Becky Lynch could’ve turned heel, but instead, she didn’t. Oh well.

Dolph ZIggler defeated Sin Cara

Sina Cara buried. I didn’t care.

Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho for the United States Title

Kevin Owens and Jericho put on a good match, and it was predictable as ever. Jericho was beaten to the point where he needed help going to the back. If you saw the match at Payback, then you’ve already seen this one, only with a few little changes. It was a hard hitting match, and Owens won clean. That was the end of the show, and then I went to sleep.

Overall, Smackdown Live is easy to digest. Is it that good, though? Not really. It is the seltzer water of pro wrestling for me right now.
