WWE Superstars 8/5/10 Results and Review

WWE Superstars 8/5/10 Results

Layla defeated Tiffany
Hawkins & Archer defeated The Dudebusters
Evan Bourne defeated Zack Ryder

WWE Superstars 8/5/10 Review

Another wrestling show another review, and I'm dead tired. As soon as I heard the divas music...I knew I was in for another hate filled night.

Layla defeated Tiffany

Layla in person is quite attractive, on tv? Not so much. Tiffany in person? not that hot to me. These two put on a sub-standard divas match and I didn't like it. I'm so sick of the divas division, they are some of the worst wrestlers ever. That being said, I didn't hate this match quite as much as I thought I would. There was some legit wrestling somewhere in this match, and that was a stunning thing. Layla worked on Tiffany's knee until she hit her finisher and that was that. This match took longer than many other divas matches I've seen and Layla came out on top without much interference from Michelle McCool.

Hawkins & Archer defeated The Dudebusters

The announce team said that this was an impressive win, but I didn't think it was. This match sucked, it was just another tag team match for me. Hawkins and Archer can actually wrestle, but they aren't growing on me or the crowd. They suck, and the Dudebusters? They are glorified jobbers.

Evan Bourne defeated Zack Ryder

The main event on Superstars doesn't get enough attention. There have been some solid matches on Superstars and this one was definitely a good one. Evan Bourne took a lot of punishment from Ryder and in the end Ryder made a crucial mistake, he fell off the top rope, or rather was thrown off and out came the Shooting Star Press and Bourne takes out Ryder. A great overall contest with some big moves, a good pace, and of course the Shooting Star Press.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/30/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/30/10 Results

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre
Big Show defeated Luke Gallows via dq
Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston via dq
Michelle McCool defeated Tiffany
Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday NIght Smackdown 7/30/10 Review

The show opened with a recap of last week's boring ass Kane promo. I'm tired of KANE and I'm tired of this thing leading to an Undertaker vs Kane battle....in fact, I'm sick of Smackdown.

The show had Kane cutting yet another promo, and it was stupid. I hate Kane.

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre

This match was given quite some time and it was interesting to see the back and forth movements from these two. Christian seemed like the obvious winner and McIntyre didn't really seem to be all there. Sure, he had a few great spots but nothing ppv quality. Christian was thrown into the ring post several times and I thought the standard Christian finish would've been given, but nope, he won with a roll up. Yep. A quick roll up finish for this one, and Christian wins. It was a fun match to watch, but I'm not sure why the match even took place.

Big Show defeated Luke Gallows via dq

This match sucked. Big SLOW sucks, and Luke Gallows is now a tired character. The Straightedge Society ganged up on Big SHow and beat him up and then tried to break his arm. That's the most of this match up. I guess Show will have a cast sooner than later. Whatever. This match was stupid, and I guess Show is going to take a break.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston via dq

What is this a house show? This match was ok, I like Ziggler enough, but I've already seen this match. Ziggler managed to get some good offense, but it was Kofi that ended up getting the upper hand, so much so that he got himself disqualified. There's not much to say about this match other than it was your standard match up between these two. Oh well...Ziggler gets a shot at the Intercontinental championship.

Michelle McCool defeated Tiffany

This match was stupid. THe divas aren't that good, and even though Michelle McCool had to fight Tiffany a bit harder than other matches, this match ended with McCool winning. Hey, it's a divas match, not sure what people expected.

Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio

I'm not sure what the point of this match was. Yes it was NO DQ but it was stupid. THe match was fought out of the ring into the crowd into the Corpus Christi waters! Swagger ended up out int he ocean and yelling for help! Apparently Swagger couldn't swim? I don't know, Mysterio looked on and just watched him drown. I don't know...this is just stupid.

Kane came out and threw Mysterio into the water.

That was the end of Smackdown.

Worst smackdown in a long time.

WWE Superstars 7/8/10 Results and Review

WWE Superstars 7/8/10 Results

Yoshi Tatsu & Gail Kim defeated Primo & Jillian
Zack Ryder defeated Goldust
Laycool defeated Kelly Kelly & Tiffany

WWE Superstars 7/8/10 Review

First and foremost, I want to give a huge shout out to Shane Simmons and all the rest of you that emailed me reviews for my “guest blogger” program I was going to be running. While I had a lot of great entries and emails, I have worked out a quick deal that has allowed me to watch Superstars on WGN America! Oh and NO, it's not the Youtube channel, although that's another option I guess.

Thanks again to all that tried out, but I'm going to be taking over the reviews now...if I get tired or need a replacement, I'll make sure to get you guys to help, thanks again.

The Bella Twins started the show as the guest referees, and they were quite hot! Wow!

Yoshi Tatsu & Gail Kim defeated Primo & Jillian

This match actually had some wrestling in it! Yeah, I can't believe that they let Gail Kim and Jillian actually put on some quick wrestling. Evil primo looks weird, and Tatsu's character has definitely run its course by this point, hasn't it? Gail Kim mixed it up with Primo, if only for a quick high spot. Despite reports of the “knife edge chop” being banned, Yoshi was all over Primo with them, prompting the fans to go “WOOOO!”. This match was a bit entertaining, if only for a little male curiosity, considering the Bellas were nearly naked in this match up, and their bottoms couldn't get any tighter. Jillian and Gail Kim put on the best women's wrestling in WWE so far this year, and it's a shame their being put on a secondary show like this. The “double clothesline” was probably the best thing I remember from the match, as it set up a good ending sequence. Jillian attacked one the ref's, and that's when Gail Kim rolled up Jillian and got a fast count. Not a terrible match, but it was more eye candy than anything else, especially with the Bella Twins.

Zack Ryder defeated Goldust

I'm glad to see that Goldust is getting a chance to wrestle, even if it's on a third rate show. He's fast, and he is in shape, far better than his debut way back when. I'm surprised the writers don't give him more credibility, and maybe even bring back Marlena. Ryder put on a fight, and didn't just go down easily, but was able to counter after a lot of abuse and get back in the match. I liked the offense from Goldust, and despite being an old character, Ryder wasn't just rolling over the veteran. Ryder might be on a good roll and can end up being a very hated part of the WWE roster, that's for sure. The Rough Ryder was hit, and this hard fought comeback for Ryder was over. I didn't hate the match, but I hope Goldust gets a better spot in the roster.

The NXT recap was far better than watching the full show, and that's a shame.

I almost forgot that Chris Masters was still in the WWE! Well, he had a Masterlock Challenge with one of the Dudebusters and boy was it menacing. Croft got basically pwned by Masters and lost this one. Masters got some hair grafts or something, cause he has a fuller head of hair now, and he's looking a little less jacked.

After Croft got beaten in the Masterlock challenge, his partner sat down and he too was going to go down, but Croft attacked and the Dudebusters beat up the Masterpiece Chris Masters. I'm not sure what this accomplished, as the tag team division needs more than 1 or 2 teams on each show...but whatever.

Laycool defeated Kelly Kelly & Tiffany

When I saw Laycool in person at a house show, I couldn't help but drool over Layla. I was 3 row from ring and wow, she's hotter in person, just saying. As far as Divas matches are concerned, this wasn't as terrible as the Raw and Smackdown matches that get rushed through. There was a good amount of time given to the bout, and Laycool were in relative control throughout the match up. They were punishing Tiffany for a good portion of this match, and it didn't look good for her team. After a ref distraction, and a hot tag, this thing ended with Laycool getting the win after Michelle McCool interfered while the Ref had his back turned. Not a terrible match, and not a great one either.

Feel free to share your thoughts, comments, and insights via the comments section or via email. I'm going to be doing a "week in wrestling" recap and review after the Smackdown review every week.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Results

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger
Layla defeated Tiffany
Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler
The Big Show vs. CM Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Review

It's beyond funny to me that news outlets were seriously considering whether or not The Undertaker was in fact dead. I was even asked to write a news piece for a local paper about whether or not The Undertaker is in fact in a coma, not just a wrestling story line. I don't know why people believe all sorts of stuff in the world of WWE, but hey, it happens I guess.

Remember when Billy & Chuck were going to get married? The national media was all over the story and they were on the covers of so many different non-wrestling papers. Then what? 3 Minute warning? Well, that's where we are now, Kane and The Undertaker start off the show, well...a focus on last week and how the Undertaker was found sleeping or dead, whatever. Kane's quest to find out what is happening will most likely be the focal point of WWE Smackdown, and we'll eventually either get Rikishi admitting that he did it for the Rock, or Kane facing the Undertaker yet again.

Remember the whole “IS He Dead?” story line with Kane? This is like a 2.0 of that story, and I'm not sure I like where it's going.

Why would the WWE put the champion in a match that opens the show? Remember the days when the Champion didn't wrestle for free television or didn't wrestle in the first MATCH! This sucks.

It's funny to me that Daniel Bryan got fired for not being PG yet Punk can say that he was a victim of an assassination attempt? That's not PG, that's not non-violent.

Before the match started, CM Punk came down and was on the mic, ranting and raving as usual.

Big Show got on the mic and started talking trash too. I'm sick of these 30 minute starting points with NO wrestling...man, that south park parody is looking more and more true.

Kane showed up on the screen and cut a promo about random crap that had to deal with his brother...I'm sick of Kane already. Get back to JOBBING!

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger

This match was back and forth, with no clear dominant wrestler. I was surprised that the WWE made Swagger look weak in this one at times, because he's the champion. Mysterio has been on a roll since he knocked off the Undertaker and it keeps growing. He wasn't letting the much bigger Swagger take control often, even though the Champion was definitely in control a good part of the match. Swagger was also getting hit from all sides with fast paced offense from Mysterio, so maybe my comments are unfounded. Mysterio managed to win the match, and again, I'm shocked that the champion gets jobbed out. Swagger is a weak champion, losing key matches, and looking weak against former champions.

I must note that Mysterio's title reigns were the same, with him getting losing streaks until narrowly retaining at the ppv matches. Mysterio is getting pushed like crazy right now, and I'm not sure why. Swagger beat up mysterio after the bell, and Kane came out. Kane choke slammed Swagger, and once again, I must wonder, why did they fire Daniel Bryan for choking out a guy, yet Kane can choke people and slam them without recourse, just sayin.

This match was given time, it was interesting to watch at times, but the logic of a weak champion that narrowly wins big matches, escapes me.

Layla and Michelle McCool came out with their rookie, and it prompted Tiffany and Kelly Kelly to come out, and I'm not sure why.

Layla defeated Tiffany

This match showed some botches. Layla got the win, but after a terrible first round of manuevers, it's interesting to note that LayCool keeps winning. This crap sucks, the divas suck, Kaval is in an interesting storyline where he's an NXT rookie and gets to bang his pro's, right? Oh no? That's not this show? Crap. Whatever, this crap sucks. I hate the divas.

They showed the footage from Monday Night Raw where the NXT guys showed up to beat up everyone and tear up the ring. They omitted some of the more “harsh” moments that got Daniel Bryan fired, but who cares? I don't.

Christian came out and she had a new haircut or something, and Vickie Guerrero came out on the mic to get booed out of the building. She introduced Christian's opponent, Dolph Ziggler.

Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler

This match wasn't all that great, and I'm sick of seeing Christian. His matches are so formulaic, and he hasn't had a quality impact in a long time. After winning via an off the ropes sunset flip, Hawkins and Archer came in and beat up Christian, but I don't care about those idiots either.

Dolph Ziggler then ran in and put Christian to sleep.

Why is it that Dolph Ziggler is far more interesting than anything Christian has done in the past weeks? Odd.

Drew McIntyre came out and called out Teddy Long, then made him watch the recap of last week. I'm sick of “fat ass” Matt Hardy, and Drew McIntyre has the charisma of a mayonaise sandwich. Smackdown was ruining my high on wrestling that I had at the end of Monday Night Raw.

It looked like Drew McIntyre was going to announce that Teddy Long was fired, but instead Kofi Kingston came out on the mic, and he lost his Jamaican accent...that was fast.

Kofi beat up Drew McIntyre, that's that. I don't know what else to say about this stupid exchange.

Drew McIntyre announced that he would face Teddy Long next week on smackdown..ocne again I say, WHO CARES?

The Big Show vs. CM Punk

The Big Show essentially beat up CM Punk for a great portion of this match. Show wasn't giving the former champion much of a chance, and rightfully so. The giant was just beating up Punk. Punk was selling all of Big Show's offense like crazy, and that was interesting to see, that's for sure. Show was going to win, but the Straightedge Society jumped Big Show. Kane then came out for the save? I gues Big Show isn't to blame?

Nope, Kane chokeslammed The Big Show. Once again, Chokeslames are PG but choking a ringside idiot isn't.

Kane sucks, he's still nothing more than a jobber to me.

Smackdown sucked, face it. It was a boring show with maybe 1 good match, and Kane getting pushed as if he was being set up for a match with the Undertaker....I'm sick of Smackdown, but am looking forward to Monday Night Raw.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/21/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/21/10 Results

Michelle McCool & Layla defeated Tiffany & Kelly Kelly
JTG defeated One Of the Dudebusters
Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins defeated Two Jobbers
Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger
Rey Mysterio & MVP defeated The Straightedge Society
The Big Show vs Drew McIntyre

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/21/10 Review

And here we go, another look at pro-wrestling, with a review of Smackdown. CM Punk opened the show and he shaved the head of three different idiots. Then he beat them up.

Mysterio came out for a moment and showed what Punk would look like with his head shaved. It was stupid.

Michelle McCool & Layla defeated Tiffany & Kelly Kelly

This match was dumb. It was fast, and it was stupid. The co-women’s champions suck. I hate this division…man, no one has good women’s wrestling right now.

JTG defeated One Of the Dudebusters

This sucked too. JTG doesn’t have the skills to get over, at least not over with me. The Dudebusters suck too. I hate this…man Smackdown sucked so far.

Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins defeated Two Jobbers

This match sucked. The two killed two jobbers…whatever…I’m sick of this boring wrestling.

Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger

This was a good back and forth match, but when Big Show go on the mic, distracted Swagger and Kofi hit a nice cross body block, Swagger lost. It was a dumb finish, and I didn’t care.

Kofi beat the world champ, big deal.

Christian had his PEEP Show, and was attacked by Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero. It was a lame segment.

Rey Mysterio & MVP defeated The Straightedge Society

This match was cool, a standard high spot tag team affair. This time around CM Punk got worked over and ended up losing after Rey Mysterio hit the Hurricanrana roll up.

The Big Show vs Drew McIntyre

This match was mostly Big Show, until Jack Swagger interfered. Drew was on his way to losing this match, and we get another no finish? I hate this crap. Swagger continued to beat up the Big Show, and that was.

Smackdown was not that great, in fact, was boring. I hated it. Smackdown and Impact both sucked, in light with an ok Raw. I’m having a bad week of wrestling.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Results

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger defeated MVP & Matt Hardy
The Undertaker defeated Drew McIntyre
Luke Gallows defeated Rey Mysterio
John Morrison & R Truth defeated The Hart Dynasty
Tiffany & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 3/19/10 Review

The show opened up as if someone died, but it was just a recap of last week’s opening segment.

Rey Mysterio got out and stated calling out Cm Punk. Rey wants a street fight at Wresltemania. Punk came out and cut another grand promo, and this match is starting to build into a powder keg of explosive animosity at Wrestlemania.

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger defeated MVP & Matt Hardy

This match wasn’t much fun. It had some alright moments, but it was a tune up match for Ziggler & Swagger. Ziggler got the win with relative ease after pinning MVP. Hardy and Swagger didn’t do very much in this one, and it was Ziggler that made a name for himself.

Post match, Ziggler pulled out a huge ladder, and climbed up and took the money in the bank briefcase that was hanging in the middle of the ring.

Tiffany & Beth Phoenix defeated Layla & Michelle McCool

The divas put on an ok showing, nothing too crazy, just standard fair. This was standard fare, and nothing more. Beth Phoenix was left in the ring and Vickie Guerrero was trying to get an apology. Nothing crazy here, just another promo.

Edge and Jericho got into a little fight, and Jericho targeted Edge’s Achilles tendon, and then stood over home with the belt. This was your Cutting Edge segment.

John Morrison & R Truth defeated The Hart Dynasty

Anyone that says that the WWE isn’t burying The Hart Dynasty, should shut the up. The Hart Dynasty is the worst tag team in the WWE right now, simply because they lose every match and haven’t gone anywhere. Meanwhile, Cryme Tyme has their own segment! WORD UP! Hahah

Luke Gallows defeated Rey Mysterio

This match was half-way decent, but overall it was your standard big man vs little man match for Rey. Serena interfered and cost Rey the match, letting Gallows pin him. If Mysterio loses to punk at mania, he’ll have to join the straightedge society.

The Undertaker defeated Drew McIntyre

Drew finally gets what’s coming to him…getting buried. Literally.

This smackdown was a lot of hype and video packages. I’m tired. This show didn’t capture my imagination. I will be getting Wrestlemania…and if you want to help me pay for it please donate or something.
