WWF Wrestlemania X7 Results and Review Stone Cold Turns Super Heel

The Astrodome played home for the biggest event of 2001. This was the biggest Wrestlemania in my memory. In 2001, the WWF was riding all time high attendance, and ratings. WCW was no competition, and no one could hold a candle to what the WWF was doing with the Attitude Era. This event went live on April 1, 2001 and I watched it live with my friends Lump and Carlo Moss. I’m sure they are out there somewhere. What’s up guys?!

This had some hits and misses, like any other event, but the big main event really had things going over the top. The gross ticket sales amounted to 3.4 million dollars, and nearly 70,000 people saw this live. I would’ve gone, had I been able to, that’s for sure. If you’re a fan of Limp Bizkit, then you’ll love that the show kept playing “My Way”. Anyways, here is how it all went down and my thoughts about the matches.

WWF Wrestlemania X7 Results

Chris Jericho defeated William Regal (Intercontinental Championship Match)
Tazz and the APA defeated Right To Censor
Kane defeated Raven and The Big Show (Hardcore Title Match)
Eddie Guerrero defeated Test (European Title Match)
Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit
Chyna defeated Ivory (Women’s Title Match)
Shane McMahon defeated Mr. McMahon in a Street Fight (with Mick Foley as referee)
Edge and Christian defeated The Dudleys, and The Hardys
The Iron Sheik won a gimmick Battle Royal
The Undertaker defeated Triple H
Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (WWF Title)

WWF Wrestlemania X7 Review

NOTE: There was a dark match for Sunday Night Heat, but they didn’t show it for the full event, and on the network, sorry.

Chris Jericho defeated William Regal (Intercontinental Championship Match)

This was an odd choice to open the show, if you ask me. The two men are great at what they do, but this was less than exciting. It was more mat based than anything, even though Jericho was doing some of his normal flying through the air. Regal was definitely doing his hard style English wrestling, so that was interesting against Jericho’s flights. Jericho would get the win and Regal would lose another shot at the IC Title.

Tazz and the APA defeated Right To Censor

This 4 minue match was fun, and should’ve been the opener if you ask me. When Tazz came out the crowd went ballistic, alongside the APA. Right To Censor died a death here, and all members got beat down by Tazz and the APA. Bradshaw’s clotheslines are scary, he probably would’ve knocked me the hell out. Fast paced, to the point, only 4 minutes of action, but well worth it.

Kane defeated Raven and The Big Show (Hardcore Title Match)

My favorite wrestler growing up was Raven. Well, my teenage years anyways. This match was fun. A brawl that went through the back. Watch out for Raven getting thrown through a window, Big Show getting thrown through a wall, and Kane jumping off the stage for the win. This was a wild brawl that was a testament to the Hardcore Title back in the day.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Test (European Title Match)

This was not a great match. Test did an ok job with Guerrero, but this felt really forced. I didn’t really like it that match, and if you remember the storylines. Test is lumbering, and Guerrero did his best, but this match didn’t feel that great, and the crowd wasn’t as over. Guerrero had better matches in WWF, this wasn’t one of them.

Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit

This was a stellar mat wrestling match. This was two wrestlers in their primes, and they traded suplexes, slams, and more. Kurt Angle would get the win, but not without Benoit going down swinging. This was no doubt one of the better matches on the card.

Chyna defeated Ivory (Women’s Title Match)

A burial. This went a little over than 2 minutes and it was bad.

Shane McMahon defeated Mr. McMahon in a Street Fight (with Mick Foley as referee)

In only 15 minutes, Shane McMahon and Vince put on a street fight for the ages. This was so great, and the two basically got out all of their aggression. It was absolutely insane. You have to see this match. Shane and Vince busted wide open, Foley trying to control things. Linda McMahon crotch shots, so much more. This was pure hell, and just insane. Great stuff here.

Edge and Christian defeated The Dudleys, and The Hardys

If the Street Fight wasn’t enough, this match won you over in about 16 minutes. These three teams went toe to toe in a TLC match. Every hit here had to hurt, and every fall was insane. The guys threw themselves around so much, I had no idea how they were still standing afterwards. Triple table breaks, ladder shots, and falls that were just too much. Edge and Christian got a little help, and won, but wow, what a match.

The Iron Sheik won a gimmick Battle Royal

There were 18 people that came down for this match including Repo Man, Earthquake, The Goon, Kamala, Brother Love, Jim Cornette, and so many others. Sheik won by eliminating Hillbilly Jim, and this was just filler but fun no doubt.

The Undertaker defeated Triple H

This was not a good match. The Undertaker and Triple H put on a slow moving, boring match if you ask me. It was a brawl, it went into the crowd, Triple H used the sledgehammer, but it was far from their battles that would come down the line for retirement. Undertaker was great here, Triple H was carrying too much weight if you ask me.

Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (WWF Title)

Holy crap. 30 minutes of pure good wrestling. Austin couldn’t put away The Rock, he just couldn’t do it. So he eventually had the help of Vince McMahon. Jim Ross called it best, “Steve Austin is shaking hands with Satan himself!”. Whatever the case was, the crowd went absolutely nuts for the near falls in this match, and the end, holy crap, holy crap. When Austin won, even with Vince’s help, the crowd went ballistic, and just so much fun.

Final Verdict

WWF Wrestlemania X7 is by far one of the best events that the WWF has ever put together. I loved it. It was absolutely fun. If you find this on dvd, you have to get it. The edits from the network are dumb, and they don’t give you the Sunday Night Heat match. Great overall event though, man this was fun. I’d watch it again, no doubt.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results and Review 3/24/14

SRC wwe.com
What’s this? I’m back suckaaaasssss! That’s right, Sir Jorge is back in business thanks to a few gigs writing and a lot of time on social media busting balls. Before I get into the review, I want to say that CM PUNK SUCKS. The review is based on the HULU version of Raw, because I do not/cannot afford cable.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results and Review

This Monday, Stephanie came out to talk about last week’s actions against Daniel Bryan. Stephanie is marvelous at the role of trying to push the fans, and it’s grand. Orton came out to talk about how he’s going to win, which is what all the champions do. I hate Orton. He has the charisma of a paper plate. I hate these long intros, but you, you already knew that.

CM Punk quits because of Batista.

When Batista’s music hit, that’s all I could think about. Batista isn’t the best, but he didn’t quit like Punk did and walk away like a chump. His music hit and of course we got more discourse. A slow start to Raw, in my view. Stephanie slapped the hell out of Dave and basically called her a SLUT! I loved it.

Goodbye Stephanie! Great opening segment that led to a spear by Batista. I do not think Batista is the next champion. I don’t think Bryan is either. I’m thinking Punk returns to screw Bryan over. Orton retains then goes back to being backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowbooys.

Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio in Fatal Four Way Match

Christian’s run has to be coming to an end. This match was a spot fest for the most part, and I don’t mind that. I love seeing as much wrestling as we can get, and not everything has to be a hard fought technical masterpiece ala Dean Malenko. This match sufficed to entertain, and Chrsistian’s win comes as a surprise to me. I thought Ziggler would win, especially after the top rope fame-asser…I forget what it’s called now, but who cares. Good match, solid ending, Christian gets a shot at the IC title, and will lose.

Triple H turned into the “GAME” and said he’d be champion, which I didn’t care for.

Hogan up next and his segment in which The Miz came out and tried to assert his dominance. Cheap pops abounded, and Hogan was welcomed with warm arms. Miz then got beat up by some random idiot and then got hit by Arnold and Hogan. A Real World joke was made, and I got bored, you did too, admit it. Where’s the wrestling at?

John Cena vs. Luke Harper NO Contest

John Cena really meshed well with Luke Harper. Harper is a dirty wrestler, and it shows, while Cena tried to mix in his signature moves. Cena does a good job staying in character, and his move set is offset by Luke’s constant changes and random brawling style. I like how Harper is a throw back of sorts, moving through wrestling moves and just brawling, which is just good. Harper is wild, and it shows with how he works with Cena. The lights went out and Cena was left tied to the ropes in a weird mask, and that was that. The crowd was insanely happy, I was confused, and the Wyatt family once again prove to be the best thing on WWE Raw right now.

Naomi defated Aj Lee by count out

AJ Lee was supposed to wrestle Naomi but got herself counted out fast. I don’t like the divas division, and this once again proves why. I hate it. Vickie came out to say that AJ Lee would wrestle Naomi, Cameron, Brie Bella, Nicki Bella, Natalya, Eva Marie, Emma, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Summer Ray, Rosa Mendes, Layla, and Tamina in the first ever Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship invitational.

The Shield defeated The Real Americans

This match was ok, nothing too spectacular. The Real Americans seem to push a great team, and The Shield is showing signs of weakness. I’m not sure what the gimmicks are here, but they are definitely pushing the beat downs to all new levels. I guess they are ok, but eh, I don’t really care for them. The Real Americans bore me, and it feels like The Shield is just second fiddle to the Wyatt Family. Entertaining match though, so I liked that. Apparently The Shield will wrestle the Corporate Outlaws and Kane at Wrestlemania…boring.

Heyman came out to talk about Lesnar and Undertaker….it bored me. Oh and Undertaker came out and did a little shuffle with lesnar, but who cares? Undertaker is overrated. The streak is lame, and I proved that long ago.

Overall Raw Rating: 3/5

The show was light on wrestling, heavy on talk. That's how things go in the WWE today, I presume. The build up to Wrestlemania is getting stronger, but with these throwaway matches, I'm not sure I'd invest heavily. Oh well.

I Still Hate John Cena But Punk Is Ok

John Cena still sucks, and his stupid lines on the mic just make me hate him more. The opening of Raw was boring, and tired.

Since when is Mark Henry in the main picture? He's going to get a title shot? Really?

Sheamus is a good guy? Oh no.

CM Punk vs. Triple H was announced and I absolutely love it. I think the two can put on a great match, but with little to no build? I'm calling it now, Nash, Hall and X-Pac to show up and help Triple H win this one.

Cena? Christian? Team Boom? Ugh...the rest of Raw was forgettable to say the least.

Punk vs Miz went well, but it got tore up by R Truth. Nash's powerbomb on punk was good, I liked that.

Super Raw sucked.

My reviews are not going to get much longer, as I don't really care THAT much. I do want to see the ppv though, at least for Punk vs Triple H part 1

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/17/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/17/10 Results

Drew McIntyre & Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated The Hart Dynasty
Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger
Laycool defeated Rosa & Random Diva
CM Punk defeated Christian

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/17/10 Review

Christian had a Peep Show with Alberto Del Rio and you know what happened, shenanigans ensued. Whatever...Christian is cool, hopefully they fight in a feud and that's that. Christian will eat the pole, and lose, right? yep.

Drew McIntyre & Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated The Hart Dynasty

Another hot shot tag team. The new guys win this non title match in a good overall match up. I liked it, the two work well as a team, but it's odd to see the tag division treated in such a stupid manner. whataver...it was entertaining.

Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger

Jack Swagger was looking amazing in this match up, and didn't look rattled at all. He had this thing in the bag, it was ridiculous, to see how much punishment Kofi took in this match. He was not winning easily here. Even though Kofi was getting completely dominated for the majority of this match up, he was able to hit Trouble in Paradise to get the win. Swagger just can't win.

Laycool defeated Rosa & Random Diva

This was stupid. Laycool wins, and whatever...I didn't care. You didn't care.

CM Punk defeated Christian

This match wasn't a 4 star classic but it was interesting none the less. Christian loses yet again, and punk is missing his ses.

Del Rio distracted Christian...and that's that.

Post match, Del Rio attacked Christian and Big Show came out, but fought PUnk...and that was that.

The show ended with Kane and Taker brawling, that's it. Lame.

Smackdown was barely watchable...I can't take much more abuse, that's for sure.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/3/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/3/10 Results

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre
Michelle McCool defeated Kelly Kelly
Dolph Ziggler defeated Chris Masters
Cody Rhodes defeated Fat Ass Matt Hardy
THe Big Show defeated Luke Gallows & CM PUnk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/3/10 Review

I can't believe another week of smackdown has come and gone...it's definitely C level if not D level at this point.

The show started with Alberto Del Rio and a party of sorts.

Christian came out and called Del Rio JBL. Apparently Christian is going to start a feud with him? I guess so.

Alberto Del Rio didn't beat up Christian until Drew McIntyre showed up and did the dirty work. Del Rio is a great heel so far.

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre

Despite getting an upper hand before the match, Drew fell to Christian! That's right, Christian finally wins a match, and while the match wasn't exactly a 4 star classic, it managed to be good enough for me. Christian wins, making him stronger going into a feud with Alberto Del Rio.

Michelle McCool defeated Kelly Kelly

Not much of a match here. Kind of boring. Michelle wins...I don't care, you don't either.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Chris Masters

Chris masters loses this piece of crap match. Ziggler wins with relative ease, even though Masters did put on a few good counters, and moves. It didn't matter. Ziggler wins, you don't care I don't care.

THe Big Show defeated Luke Gallows & CM PUnk

The big show wins another squash kind of match. Sure, Show took some offense, but no one cared, and this was just stupid. Big Show wins again.

The MVP Lounge was hosted by Jack Swagger...and it was dumb. Jack Swagger's guest was his dad...in a wheel chair. Wow...what a terrible feud.

Cody Rhodes defeated Fat Ass Matt Hardy

This match was short and stupid. Matt Hardy sucks, he's fat and shouldn't ever be allowed on tv.

The Show ended with kane and undertaker doing something stupid...I was bored.....and this was stupid. WORST FEUD EVER!

This was quite possibly the worst smackdown episode ever!!!!!!!

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/20/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/20/10 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler via dq
Sarena & Luke Gallows defeated Big Show & Kelly Kelly
Christian defeated Drew McIntyre
Alberto Del Rio defeated Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/20/10 Review

Rey Mysterio came out to the ring and talked about random crap. I was bored. I'm sick of Rey Mysterio...dude needs to retire.

Amidst talking, out came Alberto Del Rio, finally! He made his debut at Mysterio's expense. Alberto Del Rio is a combination of Razor Ramon, and The Model Ric Martel.

Mysterio hit first and attacked, hitting Alberto Del Rio with the 619!

Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler via dq

This match wasn't too bad, I liked it for what it was, a repeat of their last 3 matches. I felt like I've seen this match several times before, and this time around, when Vickie Guerrero interfered, Dolph was disqualified. This was really a waste of time, all things considered.

Post match, Kofi was screaming in terror when in front of Kofi! So Kofi did what any idiot would do....nothing. Ziggler attacked him afterwards and just beat him up.

Here's a question? Why would Ziggler attack? He won the match, and Kofi shouldn't have anymore title shots, so he should move on right? Right.

Hornswoggle returned, in the backstage area, dressed as a plant.

Sarena & Luke Gallows defeated Big Show & Kelly Kelly

This wasn't that great, but we finally saw Sarena in ring. She's not half bad, and the match wasn't a complete waste, but it was obvious that Show would go down. BIg Show was busy outside, while Sareta hit a gutbuster on Kelly, and it looked bad. I guess this is a first, a first in a while...I didn't hate the divas here.

Kane did a promo...but I didn't care about it. I'm sick of Undertaker vs Kane...I've seen it soo many times...I'm tired of it, and I hate Kane and dare I say...I hate Taker these days too.

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre

Again? THIS MATCH? I feel like Smackdown is just a cookie cutter, boring ass show. I'm sick of seeing this match, I'm sick of McIntyre, I'm sick of Christian going into the post with his shoulder. I'm sick of roll up wins without his finisher...ugh...this match was so boring. I've seen this before 100 times!

Post match Drew and Cody Rhodes beat up Christian. Who cares?

I don't.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Rey Mysterio

I liked this match. Only because Del Rio didn't suck completely. I've seen a lot of debut matches in my day, and most of them aren't good at all, but not this one. Del Rio was quite methodical and he had counters against Mysterio's offense at several stages. I liked it. Del Rio's finisher is a rolling Arm Breaker submission and it was definitely flashy. Del Rio's Debut ranks high in my book as one of the better debut's in professional wrestlign in recent memory.

Del Rio needs a good steady feud to catapult him to a higher level. He needs the IC Title too....but that's not going to happen, now is it?

Overall, the ending of Smackdown made the night. I liked it. I think Del Rio is one of the best heels, if they can continue to use him properly. This is WWE, so it might go wrong at several stages, that's for sure.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/13/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/13/10 Results

Kane defeated Kofi Kingston
Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated Christian
The Big Show defeated Three Jobbers
Drew McIntyre defeated Fat Ass Matt Hardy
Jack Swagger defeated MVP
Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 8/13/10 Review

The last Smackdown before what looks to be one o the worst Summerslams in recent history, had to be good right? I don't know, I'm so tired of wrestling, yet I can't help myself from watching it.

No ROH review this week, because I couldn't find a source to watch it. That's about it.

Dolph Ziggler was out with Vickie Guerrero and she was the mic piece for Ziggler. It was boring, and Teddy Long said that Ziggler would face kofi at the ppv for the Intercontinental Title.

Then we got a promo for Rey Mysterio and Kane, spliced with the Undertaker.

Then we got a glorified squash match.

Kane defeated Kofi Kingston

Kane beat down Kofi left and right in this match. The big red machine was ALL over Kofi, and Kingston just got beat at all levels. Kane eventually hit the Tombstone and that was that. Goodbye Kofi.

Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated Christian

Christian worked Cody at every angle here, and was getting the majority of the offense...and you'll never guess how this match ended...yep! Cody threw Christian into the ring post and then hit Cross Rhodes and won the match. Christian is the Denzel Washington of Wrestling.

What?

Well Denzel always plays cops/detectives...and Christian? He always gets thrown into the post and loses.

Ok, a terrible comparison.

The Big Show defeated Three Jobbers

The Big Show beat three jobbers. This was stupid.

Drew McIntyre defeated Fat Ass Matt Hardy

I've seen this match before, and it was better. This match was slow, and featured some minor botches. I didn't care about this match, you didn't care either, and it was over before I could even really understand why Fat Ass Matt Hardy keeps showing up on Smackdown. Drew still sucks. Matt is terrible. Ok, so there were some nice hits, but after Drew stomped Hardy's leg in the ring steps this match really hit a new low. Hardy lost to Drew McIntyre, hopefully they fire him.

Jack Swagger defeated MVP

MVP hasn't been good in a long time, and somehow, by some miracle he was able to beat Jack Swagger. Swagger looked strong throughout the match, MVP wasn't on his top game, and after some standard offense from Swagger, MVP rolled him up out of nowhere and that was that. Another throwaway match.

Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

I've seen these guys put on a 5 star match last year, so I was expecting way more out of this one. This match was NOT as good as their Intercontinental battle from last year (the first one). I think it was at Night of Champions. Rey Mysterio won this match after getting beat up throughout the match. Rey would eventually win in standard fashion with a roll up. I don't understand why they would bury Ziggler's title with a win from Mysterio.

Post match, Kane jumped out of a casket and tried to beat up Mysterio, and that was that.

Mysterio hit Kane and he fell into a casket.

Whatever....who cares.

Terrible night of wrestling, terrible week of wrestling, maybe Summerslam will be good....maybe.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/30/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/30/10 Results

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre
Big Show defeated Luke Gallows via dq
Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston via dq
Michelle McCool defeated Tiffany
Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday NIght Smackdown 7/30/10 Review

The show opened with a recap of last week's boring ass Kane promo. I'm tired of KANE and I'm tired of this thing leading to an Undertaker vs Kane battle....in fact, I'm sick of Smackdown.

The show had Kane cutting yet another promo, and it was stupid. I hate Kane.

Christian defeated Drew McIntyre

This match was given quite some time and it was interesting to see the back and forth movements from these two. Christian seemed like the obvious winner and McIntyre didn't really seem to be all there. Sure, he had a few great spots but nothing ppv quality. Christian was thrown into the ring post several times and I thought the standard Christian finish would've been given, but nope, he won with a roll up. Yep. A quick roll up finish for this one, and Christian wins. It was a fun match to watch, but I'm not sure why the match even took place.

Big Show defeated Luke Gallows via dq

This match sucked. Big SLOW sucks, and Luke Gallows is now a tired character. The Straightedge Society ganged up on Big SHow and beat him up and then tried to break his arm. That's the most of this match up. I guess Show will have a cast sooner than later. Whatever. This match was stupid, and I guess Show is going to take a break.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston via dq

What is this a house show? This match was ok, I like Ziggler enough, but I've already seen this match. Ziggler managed to get some good offense, but it was Kofi that ended up getting the upper hand, so much so that he got himself disqualified. There's not much to say about this match other than it was your standard match up between these two. Oh well...Ziggler gets a shot at the Intercontinental championship.

Michelle McCool defeated Tiffany

This match was stupid. THe divas aren't that good, and even though Michelle McCool had to fight Tiffany a bit harder than other matches, this match ended with McCool winning. Hey, it's a divas match, not sure what people expected.

Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio

I'm not sure what the point of this match was. Yes it was NO DQ but it was stupid. THe match was fought out of the ring into the crowd into the Corpus Christi waters! Swagger ended up out int he ocean and yelling for help! Apparently Swagger couldn't swim? I don't know, Mysterio looked on and just watched him drown. I don't know...this is just stupid.

Kane came out and threw Mysterio into the water.

That was the end of Smackdown.

Worst smackdown in a long time.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/23/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/23/10 Results

Dashing Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre defeated Christian & Matt Hardy
Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston
Big Show defeated Joey Mercury
Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/23/10 Review

Another week, another set of reviews about to be finished, this is what I thought of Smackdown and what happened.

Kane started the show as the new champion, and I couldn't care less. I don't care about the Undertaker being dead, or Kane as champion, I just don't care. The Big Slow machine sucks, there I said it.

Dashing Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre defeated Christian & Matt Hardy

This match was slow moving, and while it was given time, I didn't care. These guys suck. The only person that is remotely interesting is Dashing Cody Rhodes. The match was your standard tag team fare, with both teams getting good overall offense, and the match ending with Hardy hitting Christian on accident and losing the match for his team.

Post match both Hardy and Christian shook hands and that was that.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston

Two up and coming WWE main eventers, here, well...that's a stretch. This match was your standard back and forth match up, and it felt like I've already seen this match countless time before. Kofi's style worked well with Zigglers bumps and offense. I liked the match with Ziggler going over after taking a lot of punishment from Kingston in the late stages of this match. Is it just me or are there a lot of “clotheslines” in Kingston's offense? Vickie Guerrero helped distract Kofi and Ziggler hit the Zig-Zag and won this one. I didn't hate the match, and Ziggler continues to move up the WWE ladder.

Big Show defeated Joey Mercury

Joey Mercury wrestled the Big Show and actually got some offense in on the giant. However, the Big Show won this one with relative ease. The mask was taken off the masked man in the Straightedge Society and this match was easily over. Show wins again, and the Straightedge Society looks to be dying before our eyes.

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger

This was just part 2 of their ppv match, and once again Jack Swagger couldn't beat Rey Mysterio. Sure, there were some hard shots by Swagger on Mysterio, but overall, this match was just another match for these two. Swagger couldn't win here, and I knew he wouldn't, and Mysterio will go on to Summerslam. So far, this night of smackdown was boring me. This was a 2 out of 3 falls match and was just boring to me. I don't care that much about smackdown these days.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/16/10 Results

Dashing Cody Rhodes vs. Kofi Kingston (no contest)
Drew McIntyre defeated Christian
Kelly Kelly & Chris Masters defeated Layla & one of the dudebusters
Dolph Ziggler defeated Matt Hardy

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/16/10 Review

The last WWE show before their big ppv this weekend should be good, right? Right? Anybody? I was going to review this last night, but instead I was out to dinner with Mrs. Sir Jorge, so I missed it live. But I was able to watch it and here we go, my thoughts on Smackdown.

The first thing I noticed was the recap of Swagger beating up Big Show, looking strong, only to be made to look like a crying little wimp by Kane. Kane is behind it, huh?

Dashing Cody Rhodes vs. Kofi Kingston (no contest)

I'm quite interested in the new “Dashing” Cody Rhodes character, and it was nice to see him improve in ring against Kofi Kingston. Kofi had his spots, but Dashing Cody Rhodes seemed to have a lot of counters to the high spots of Kofi, until he fell backwards off the top rope and was hit with a nice crossbody!

Kane's pyro hit and out came Kane to stop the match, and once again, I hate WWE for not ending a match, I guess this match gets thrown out since Kane hit both Cody Rhodes and Kofi with chokeslams. I'm sick of Kane.

Drew McIntyre defeated Christian

This match was back and forth with some good overall action. Christian was definitely playing a sympathetic role to Drew's cheating ways. Drew got a nice upper hand to win the match after poking Christian in the eye and then hitting his Future Shock DDT. Not a terrible match, but nothing I'd remember in a few weeks. Drew McIntyre is still as exciting as a mayonaise sandwich on white bread.

CM Punk was trying to cut a promo but was interrupted by Big Show talking about the Ladder match. This promo was stupid, and having Big Show trying to climb a ladder wasted a lot of time for no apparent reason. The Straightedge Society was watching on, as the Big Show couldn't climb a ladder. Since the Big Show couldn't find a ladder that was his size, he got a super industrial ladder to support his weight!

The Straightedge Society attacked and climbed the Big Show's ladder and this got good. I liked the way this waste of time played out, and the ladder was awesome with Big Show eventually getting CM Punk to the top of the Ladder and then PULLING CM PUNK'S MASK COMPLETELY OFF!!!!!!!!!

Best line of the night, “CM PUNK LOOKS LIKE BIG SHOW JR!” it was awesome, if you missed it, you missed it.

Kelly Kelly & Chris Masters defeated Layla & one of the dudebusters

This match was stupid, the whole thing was just a waste of time. After Layla was focusing on Kelly for the most part, this match turned around when Rosa came out jumping rope. This match got Kelly Kelly to win and that was that. I hate this piece of crap division....Layla is hot, just sayin.

Fat Ass Matt Hardy cut a promo, it was boring.

More vignettes shown for the new guy...and I liked it. Hopefully the dude can wrestle.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy, despite being fat, still can go in the ring, at least for a few moments. I credit Dolph Ziggler with a lot here though. Ziggler is quite good, and he can really compliment any major wrestler, as he was fast, poignant, and just impressive against a fatter opponent. I liked the way this match was playing out, especially the counters from Hardy on Ziggler. Despite hitting most of his offense, Matt Hardy couldn't put this one away and therefore lost with Ziggler getting a very good victory.

I for one love Ziggler's character and think he's ready for the big time. Ziggler vs Mysterio #1 was the best match of 2009 I my view, and he continues to improve. Vickie Guerrero as his manager is a nice touch, and this match up was good, I liked it a lot.

Jack Swagger brought out his father to the ring and said he was hanging out with him and couldn't have beaten up the Undertaker. This was stupid, as Swagger said he was in a Chicken Wing eating contest.

Kane came out, and was ready to mop up Swagger. Swagger then went after Kane's leg and his dad was cheering him on, which was funny. Kane then chokeslammed Jack Swagger's dad! Rey Mysterio came out and helped Kane get the upper hand.

The show ended with Kane's pyro and he was “scary”...FML.

Oh and Kane tombstoned Swagger's dad.

***Since no one commented, and my "wrestling wrap up" post last week got little to no fan fare, I'm not doing one this week. Too bad suckers....I kid....PPV review will go up Monday before Raw airs...just in case you're wondering.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/9/10 Results and Review

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/9/10 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated Chavo Guerrero and MVP in a triple threat match
Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins defeated Matt Hardy & Christian
Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston
Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated JTG
The Big Show vs Jack Swagger (Double Countout)

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/9/10 Review

Drew McIntyre was in ring and out came Teddy Long with a mic...another boring promo featuring the world's most boring wrestler ever. Drew McIntyre was calling Teddy, Mr. Long, and he was sucking up to the general manager big time. I was on the brink of falling asleep during this opening promo, as McIntyre has NO charisma and is as bland as a mayonaise sandwich on white bread...just sayin.

Teddy Long wanted Drew McIntyre to drop to his knees and ask for forgiveness. Drew did so and asked to get into the Money In The Bank Ladder match. Teddy Long made a match between Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston and if he wins, he's in. This promo took a good portion of the beginning of the show and was terribly dry and boring.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Chavo Guerrero and MVP in a triple threat match

This match was interesting, because Ziggler and Chavo were supposed to be working together with Vickie. Vickie wanted Dolph to win but the WWE was trying to get the fans behind Chavo as the sympathetic wrestler by having him turn on Vickie in this match up. The crowd response wasn't that extreme, and it was hard to look over the fact that MVP was the obvious favorite in this match up. The match had some good spots, and broke down to the regular formula of Triple Threat Matches with 1 person getting thrown out of the ring only to leave two guys in ring. MVP was ready to win this one, but Vickie pulled the ref out when MVP had this thing completely won. Dolph Ziggler jumped MVP and lights out, Ziggler won and got into the Money in the Bank match up.

I liked the dynamic of Vickie being a good manager that is helping Dolph get into the match up. Guerrero's sympathetic heel/face turn was subtle at times and I'm not sure if the fans wanted that at all. The crowd reaction was nice throughout the high points and low points of this match. The worst part of the match was not the actual match, but rather the announce team. The Smackdown announce team is the WORST team in broadcasting wrestling. It seriously is the worst, and most boring commentary to listen to.

Backstage Rey Mysterio was told that he had a ligament tear in his Ankle. Dolph Ziggler jumped in and put Rey into the Ankle Lock, and no one was helping. This could be a good way of getting Rey to drop the title, and get written off the show as Swagger carryied the Ankle Lock and dragged Mysterio through the backstage area. He's done, Swagger is looking more and more ruthless, and Mysterio is out, he's completely out folks, and I guess I'm buying into it...man I'm a sucker.

Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins defeated Matt Hardy & Christian

Matt Hardy is fat. Christian is lacking in the Charisma department lately. Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins suck, and just don't have “it”, in my view. This was a fast match, and while there was a small amount of offense, it ended after Christian turned on Matt Hardy. He dragged Matt Hardy over the top rope by dragging his arm, and Vance Archer capitalized. Hawkins and Archer basically beat Matt Hardy as Christian turns heel on Matt Hardy.

Remember when the Intercontinental Champion automatically received a World Title Shot? They would always bill the matches as “Champion vs Champion” and make it a big deal? Those were the days.

Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston

Drew McIntyre couldn't beat Kofi in title matches, but to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match he can. This match wasn't all that good, and I didn't particularly find it very entertaining. Sure there were some of the usual spots, and after getting thrown into the ring post Drew hit the Future Shock DDT to win the match. Kofi is always good, but while wrestling a bland Drew McIntyre, he just couldn't carry him, in my opinion.

The Straightedge Society was airing their dirty laundry. I think Serena is hot. Punk forgave his fallen chick, and that was that. Man, that Southpark parody is so true in many ways. It's all drama...arg.

Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated JTG

Dashing Cody Rhodes is really making a name for himself beating up has been tag team wrestlers. Remember when it was big Shad's “TIME”, well it seems that JTG is getting more matches than the bigger man that was getting the solo push. JTG is ok, but he needs more than just the “Cryme Tyme” gimmick to go solo. I was impressed with the fast paced offense of JTG, I just don't see the WWE pushing him any time soon. Cody Rhodes, on the other hand, was making a major impact and he's gotten a lot better since being in Legacy, and it's nice to see him develop. He hit CrossRhodes and that was that, the clean win.

The Big Show vs Jack Swagger (Double Countout)

This match wasn't that great, but one thing I can always count on is seeing Big Show manhandle an opponent. I wouldn't want to work with Big Show, he seems to hit very hard. He was inflicting some major pain on Swagger and if the sound is any resemblance of the pain involved with getting hit by a tree trunk of a fist, then working with Big Show is no fun. Big Show forgot that his ankle was injured cause he turned the injury on and off throughout the match. This thing was even handed, and eventually had the two fighting on the ramp before Swagger kicked Show in the leg and left him in pain.

Backstage Kane grabbed Swagger and was blaming him for the Undertaker's vegetative state. Swagger was then put in a red room and Kane looked like he was going to molest the guy.

I'm sick of the Kane gimmick, this show had some lackluster matches, and just made me once again hate watching Smackdown. Good riddance when they are off of “Mytv” or whatever. I'm sick of this crap...I need a drink.

Swagger said he would prove that he didn't beat up Taker or whatever. WHO CARES!? Kane probably did it, and will face the Undertaker in a Hell in the Cell match or a buried alive match or something like that. I'm sick of this angle, I'm glad the week in wrestling is now over.

Stay tuned for my weekly recap and commentary including answering your comments and questions.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/26/10 Results

Big Show defeated Jack Swagger via disqualification
Christian, Kofi Kingston, MVP defeated Dolph Ziggler, Archer, Hawkins
Matt Hardy defeated Drew McIntyre
Kelly Kelly defeated Rosa
Kane vs Cm Punk no contest

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/26/10 Review

The show started with Teddy Long and Vickie Guerrero rambling about the next ppv, and also talking about how Vinnie Mac got beat up. Drew McIntyre interrupted and said that Teddy Long shouldn't be happy. Teddy Long reinstated Matt Hardy and made a match tonight with Drew.

Big Show defeated Jack Swagger via disqualification

Once again, Big Show fought Swagger, this time there were no titles on the line. Big Show was dominant for the most part. He was hitting Swagger quite hard at times and this match was quite slow. It looked like Swagger's arm was definitely injured at times, but it seemed to be alright towards the end of the match. All in all, this was probably one of the more entertaining Big Show matches as Jack Swagger was able to incorporate some nice strategy and counters to the freight train that is Big Show. Jack Swagger put on an ankle lock submission, and would not release the hold. That was that.

Stryker said that he hasn't seen Big Show so vulnerable, I wonder if he saw when Big Boss Man dragged Show's father's casket threw the cemetery. I'd say he was more vulnerable then, just sayin.

Christian, Kofi Kingston, MVP defeated Dolph Ziggler, Archer, Croft

Christian works really well in six man tags, that's what I got from this one. This match was your average six man tag with lots of high spots, and lots of cool moments to see. Christian was given a lot of cool points in the match and it wasn't all bad. Christian eventually got the win for his team, and this match was better than I thought it would be.

Maybe Christian is not getting fired, like many podcasts were claiming.

Matt Hardy defeated Drew McIntyre

I'm sick of seeing Fat Ass Matt Hardy in WWE. I wish he would finally go away. This match was a mix of strong style than it was a finesse driven wrestling match. Drew seemed dominant early on and was definitely in control for a good portion of the match. While Hardy did have some counters for the Scottish thug, He was taking a lot of punishment. Hardy eventually had enough gusto to hit the Twist of Fate and get the pinfall victory, without interference or foreign objects. I guess this is the end of their feud? I guess. Hardy managed to pull out an interesting finish, despite being fat.

Teddy Long deported Drew McIntyre! He said Drew's Visa expired and that was that. Good riddance.

Cody Rhodes came out and really started to shine on the Mic with his NXT rookie. Apparently they voted him most handsome. Husky Harris looks like the second coming of Festus. Rhodes then verbally attacked his NXT Rookie, and continued to just say how he sucked. He then sent him to the back, and cut a funny promo, bringing Rhodes into a new light. I like this new Cody Rhodes.

Kelly Kelly defeated Rosa

This match as really short, and Kelly Kelly won, that was it.

Kane vs Cm Punk no contest

No one wins anything in the WWE do they? This match was a back and forth affair with the Straightedge Society pushing Kane at times, double teaming him and forcing him to fight a bit more than usual. Punk eventually got worked over on the stairs, and when things got too heated, the two went to the concession stands on the first floor of the arena and Punk went through a couple of tables, and the two fought straight into the parking lot. Punk ran away into the streets and Kane was left watching him, and that's your smackdown!

This night of Smackdown sucked. It wasn't that great and the champion wasn't even on the show! Punk was terrible against Kane and once again there was a no finish ending to the match. I just don't care about Smackdown right now.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Results

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger
Layla defeated Tiffany
Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler
The Big Show vs. CM Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Review

It's beyond funny to me that news outlets were seriously considering whether or not The Undertaker was in fact dead. I was even asked to write a news piece for a local paper about whether or not The Undertaker is in fact in a coma, not just a wrestling story line. I don't know why people believe all sorts of stuff in the world of WWE, but hey, it happens I guess.

Remember when Billy & Chuck were going to get married? The national media was all over the story and they were on the covers of so many different non-wrestling papers. Then what? 3 Minute warning? Well, that's where we are now, Kane and The Undertaker start off the show, well...a focus on last week and how the Undertaker was found sleeping or dead, whatever. Kane's quest to find out what is happening will most likely be the focal point of WWE Smackdown, and we'll eventually either get Rikishi admitting that he did it for the Rock, or Kane facing the Undertaker yet again.

Remember the whole “IS He Dead?” story line with Kane? This is like a 2.0 of that story, and I'm not sure I like where it's going.

Why would the WWE put the champion in a match that opens the show? Remember the days when the Champion didn't wrestle for free television or didn't wrestle in the first MATCH! This sucks.

It's funny to me that Daniel Bryan got fired for not being PG yet Punk can say that he was a victim of an assassination attempt? That's not PG, that's not non-violent.

Before the match started, CM Punk came down and was on the mic, ranting and raving as usual.

Big Show got on the mic and started talking trash too. I'm sick of these 30 minute starting points with NO wrestling...man, that south park parody is looking more and more true.

Kane showed up on the screen and cut a promo about random crap that had to deal with his brother...I'm sick of Kane already. Get back to JOBBING!

Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger

This match was back and forth, with no clear dominant wrestler. I was surprised that the WWE made Swagger look weak in this one at times, because he's the champion. Mysterio has been on a roll since he knocked off the Undertaker and it keeps growing. He wasn't letting the much bigger Swagger take control often, even though the Champion was definitely in control a good part of the match. Swagger was also getting hit from all sides with fast paced offense from Mysterio, so maybe my comments are unfounded. Mysterio managed to win the match, and again, I'm shocked that the champion gets jobbed out. Swagger is a weak champion, losing key matches, and looking weak against former champions.

I must note that Mysterio's title reigns were the same, with him getting losing streaks until narrowly retaining at the ppv matches. Mysterio is getting pushed like crazy right now, and I'm not sure why. Swagger beat up mysterio after the bell, and Kane came out. Kane choke slammed Swagger, and once again, I must wonder, why did they fire Daniel Bryan for choking out a guy, yet Kane can choke people and slam them without recourse, just sayin.

This match was given time, it was interesting to watch at times, but the logic of a weak champion that narrowly wins big matches, escapes me.

Layla and Michelle McCool came out with their rookie, and it prompted Tiffany and Kelly Kelly to come out, and I'm not sure why.

Layla defeated Tiffany

This match showed some botches. Layla got the win, but after a terrible first round of manuevers, it's interesting to note that LayCool keeps winning. This crap sucks, the divas suck, Kaval is in an interesting storyline where he's an NXT rookie and gets to bang his pro's, right? Oh no? That's not this show? Crap. Whatever, this crap sucks. I hate the divas.

They showed the footage from Monday Night Raw where the NXT guys showed up to beat up everyone and tear up the ring. They omitted some of the more “harsh” moments that got Daniel Bryan fired, but who cares? I don't.

Christian came out and she had a new haircut or something, and Vickie Guerrero came out on the mic to get booed out of the building. She introduced Christian's opponent, Dolph Ziggler.

Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler

This match wasn't all that great, and I'm sick of seeing Christian. His matches are so formulaic, and he hasn't had a quality impact in a long time. After winning via an off the ropes sunset flip, Hawkins and Archer came in and beat up Christian, but I don't care about those idiots either.

Dolph Ziggler then ran in and put Christian to sleep.

Why is it that Dolph Ziggler is far more interesting than anything Christian has done in the past weeks? Odd.

Drew McIntyre came out and called out Teddy Long, then made him watch the recap of last week. I'm sick of “fat ass” Matt Hardy, and Drew McIntyre has the charisma of a mayonaise sandwich. Smackdown was ruining my high on wrestling that I had at the end of Monday Night Raw.

It looked like Drew McIntyre was going to announce that Teddy Long was fired, but instead Kofi Kingston came out on the mic, and he lost his Jamaican accent...that was fast.

Kofi beat up Drew McIntyre, that's that. I don't know what else to say about this stupid exchange.

Drew McIntyre announced that he would face Teddy Long next week on smackdown..ocne again I say, WHO CARES?

The Big Show vs. CM Punk

The Big Show essentially beat up CM Punk for a great portion of this match. Show wasn't giving the former champion much of a chance, and rightfully so. The giant was just beating up Punk. Punk was selling all of Big Show's offense like crazy, and that was interesting to see, that's for sure. Show was going to win, but the Straightedge Society jumped Big Show. Kane then came out for the save? I gues Big Show isn't to blame?

Nope, Kane chokeslammed The Big Show. Once again, Chokeslames are PG but choking a ringside idiot isn't.

Kane sucks, he's still nothing more than a jobber to me.

Smackdown sucked, face it. It was a boring show with maybe 1 good match, and Kane getting pushed as if he was being set up for a match with the Undertaker....I'm sick of Smackdown, but am looking forward to Monday Night Raw.

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/28/10 Results

Christian & Hornswoggle defeated Chavo Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler
Luke Gallows defeated MVP
The Big Show & Kofi Kingston defeated Drew McIntyre & Jack Swagger
CM Punk defeated Kane
The Undertaker defeated Rey Mysterio

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/28/10 Review

Teddy Long came out to the ring and started to dance. He came out to ringside and started to talk about the upcoming fatal four way ppv.

Drew McIntyre came out and pulled out yet another letter, and this sucked. The letter stated that Matt Hardy is suspended for interfering in Drew’s match.

Christian & Hornswoggle defeated Chavo Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler

The team of Dolph Ziggler and Chavo were getting completely out wrestled by Hornswoggle and Christian, well, mainly Christian. The little guy was getting thrown around like crazy. Christian hit a Killswitch and this thing was over fast. Christian worked his butt off in this match, despite the lackluster pairing.

Post match Dolph Ziggler was like a man possess, attacking Christian with a stick Sleeper Hold and putting Captain Charisma to sleep.

Luke Gallows defeated MVP

MVP put on his usual antics, but it was Luke Gallows and help from a hooded member of the Straightedge Society that won the match. Not exactly a technical classic, but what are ya gonna do?

The Big Show & Kofi Kingston defeated Drew McIntyre & Jack Swagger

This match was actually entertaining. McIntyre and Swagger worked quite well together and were pushing the limits of Kofi. Big Show finally got a hot tag and cleared the ring, prompting the crowd to go nuts. Show was dominant, and he was plowing through the two youngsters. Drew McIntyre receives a huge right hand and it was over, Big Show pinned Drew and stared down Jack Swagger.

CM Punk, despite having his head shaved, showed up with none other than…a mask. Yes, a mask. He had a full mask that covered his head and eyes. It was scary to say the least.

CM Punk defeated Kane

CM Punk managed to survive a great deal of punishment from Kane, and without much interference, well…he still had some, he managed to pin the big red machine. Kane has been relegated to jobber status if you ask me. It’s funny to see him losing, especially since in past times, he was so good. Oh well, I guess that’s what happens when you get older in wrestling, you start to lose. Hopefully Kane can bounce back and he’ll get one more championship run? Maybe not.

The Undertaker defeated Rey Mysterio

This match was actually one of the highlights of smackdown. I was surprised that the two actually put on such an entertaining match. Rey took shot after shot at Undertaker and it was frustrating the big man for sure. After some blows, the dead man nearly killed Rey with counters, but Mysterio kept moving forward with his offensive fury. It was interesting to see how fast Undertaker was adapting to the offense of Rey Mysterio. I’m not sure who the fans wanted to cheer, as it was definitely split. The Undertaker managed to lose this one, but not without a valiant effort and the dead man busted open the hard way. Mysterio was dropped on his head and this thing was over, sadly. It was a three out of 5 star or at least 4 out of 5 star match up. I enjoyed it greatly.

WWE NXT 5/25/10 Results and Review

***NOTE****

Well, it has happened folks, I have canceled my satellite television service, which means I won't be watching wrestling live. I'll have to hunt down episodes on a variety of different websites.

I appreciate you readers, all 2 of you, that have helped me keep this thing going, but I have no money, no job, and am on the verge of getting kicked out of my home.

If I'm late on my reviews, don't worry, they'll show up...it's just going to take time or they'll be limited to what I can watch at a friend's house.

WWE NXT 5/25/10 Results

R-Truth & David “A-List” Otunga defeated Christian & Heath Slater
Justin Gabriel defeated Wade Barrett

WWE NXT 5/25/10 Review

The most important thing that happened on NXT was that the one man rock band was eliminated. Remember folks, this is all scripted.

Oh right, I forgot, Daniel Bryan confronted Michael Cole, or rather Cole tried to do so. Whatever the case, it sucked...until Cole gets beat up, I don't care.

R-Truth & David “A-List” Otunga defeated Christian & Heath Slater

This match was ok at best. I don't like how Otunga isn't all that good, but I do like how Truth at least gave it a good shot. Slater and Christian are ok as a team, but they are like mayo to me...I just don't like them. Or maybe they're too white for me.

Justin Gabriel defeated Wade Barrett

I can't believe this happened. Barrett is supposed to be the "it" guy and yet he loses to the guy with one trick...oh well.

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/17/10 Results

The Undertaker defeated Edge by Countout
Edge defeated Christian
Ted Dibiase Jr defeated Yoshi Tatsu
Bret Hart defeated The Miz for the United States Championship
Layla, Michelle McCool and Maryse defeated Eve & The Bella Twins
Randy Orton vs Jack Swagger No Contest
Evan Bourne & Gail Kim defeated Zack Ryder & Alicia Fox
John Cena vs Sheamus no contest

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/17/10 Review

I completely forgot about the TNA review and ppv, because I was busy, so forget it happened. From what I hear, it wasn’t very good anyways.

The show opened up with Bret “The Hitman” Hart coming down to the ring. It’s also important to note that Raw was in Toronto Canada.

The Hitman informed everyone that he wasn’t going to be wrestling tonight, despite being called out by The Miz last Raw.

Chris Jericho came out to interrupt, and what not…I lost track of stuff looking or the new Murs record.

The night had several different commercials and sponsors, in a night tht wasn’t supposed to have any. Of course they were all for wwe and what not, and parodied real commercials.

Looks like the wwe likes to gamble, or play cards or something because they had a “pick your poison” match, where two opponents at Over the Limit would pick their opponents “opponent”. I know, it’s odd, but whatever.

Edge defeated Christian

Christian has been working both shows, and it seems like the brand split didn’t matter. Christian was running straight through Edge for the most part, but managed to hurt his shoulder outside of the ring, which is a common point for Christian matches. The crowd was red hot for this match, and both guys put on some great counters and overall wrestling, despite the short amount of time. After some close falls, it was Edge that managed to win this match up. Not a four star classic, but a great overall opener that kept my attention for a Raw match.

The Undertaker defeated Edge by Countout

Randy Orton didn’t pick Christian, he picked Undertaker and when Edge deliberately got counted out, Christian came out and threw him in the ring. The Undertaker than knocked him out, and that was the end of the night.

I hate no commercial Raw events.
Mark Henry was supposed to face Mark Henry, but instead got trampled by Batista before the match could even happen.

Ted Dibiase Jr defeated Yoshi Tatsu

Tatsu got worked over in this match, despite getting some offense in during the match up. Dibiase hit Dream Street and that was that. The match wasn’t all that great, but I liked the fact that VIRGIL came back. That’s right, THE VIRGIL is now helping Ted Dibiase Jr.

Bret Hart defeated The Miz for the United States Championship

The Hart Dynasty helped Bret hart overcome the odds and once again get the United States Championship! That’s right, he won the match with a lot of help from the Hart Dynasty…The Miz basically got jobbed the crap out. Wow. I have no idea what they are going to do with the United States Title now.

Layla, Michelle McCool and Maryse defeated Eve & The Bella Twins

This match was relatively boring, too much time was spent on dropkicks…seriously. Maryse tagged herself in and got the pinfall victory after the French Kiss. I guess it was ok…I don’t know, I don’t care about the divas in wwe.

Randy Orton vs Jack Swagger No Contest

This match was quite a high caliber match, and was comparable to their ppv outing they had. While Orton seemed to be a little less abrasive, and Swagger was looking quite dominant for a good part of this match, the Viper was striking on all cylinders. The crowd was going nuts, and Swagger, despite nearly losing this match up looked Strong.

Swagger got with an RKO but Edge was there to disrupt the match and hit a Spear.

Evan Bourne & Gail Kim defeated Zack Ryder & Alicia Fox

This match had Ryder taking some serious shots against Bourne, and Gail Kim hitting some nice high spots against Fox. This match had some interesting counters, and Ryder getting involved was interesting to see when the divas were wrestling. Overall though, I didn't really like this match. Gail Kim won the match with a pinfall, and this match was done. A standard mixed tag team match, didn't mean a whole lot.

John Cena vs Sheamus no contest

I'm so sick of John Cena. I'm so tired of seeing him wrestling, it's getting ridiculous. Sheamus further solidified himself as a pale heel, and was really bringing it to Cena during this match up. Cena was doing the classic, super cena, stuff, and no one seemed to care...well, the crowd was loud, I just wasn't into it at all. The "Let's Go Sheamus" chant was huge at one point, with Cena getting booed for his comebacks.

Cena threw Sheamus out of the ring with an Attitude Adjustment, but Batista was there to catch cena and drop him with a spine buster. Batista would go on to beat up Cena yet again, and will most likely lose at the ppv.

This match had rails, it was going somewhere, I actually was watching, then when Batista beat him up, and the match was thrown out. Batista putting on The Rings of Saturn was a nice touch, as Raw went off the air.

I like the build, but I don't know if the match will actually be any good.

Raw was ok, nothing too grand.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/14/10 Results

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian in the Intercontinental Championship Match
Shad defeated Jobber #9292
JTG & MVP defeated The Dudebusters
Layla defeated Beth Phoenix to win the Women’s Title
Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero
Rey Mysterio vs Cm Punk

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/14/10 Review

The night opened with the Intercontinental Championship title tournament finals. It would be two of the top guys in the mid-card, and I liked that they opened the show like this.

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian in the Intercontinental Championship Match

Christian hasn’t been on the roll that he once was at in ECW, but he can take a lot of punishment, and it showed. He was busted open the hard way at one point, and took some big bumps on the outside. Kofi too took a mean bump on the floor outside, when Christian moved out of the way of a splash. The two were going back and forth, and fast too, getting the crowd going several times, and getting me excited about the Intercontinental Champion yet again. Kofi hit thunder in paradise, and this thing was all over.

Kofi Kingston won, but out came Drew McIntyre, and the title was overruled and Kofi was stripped of the title. Drew McIntyre was reinstated, and is still recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. A letter was read, and that was it. It’s stupid.

Shad defeated Jobber #9292

Shad beat a jobber. I don’t like the character, and I don’t like JTG solo, so this was stupid to me.

JTG & MVP defeated The Dudebusters

Well, there’s another hot shot tag team, thrown together. I hate these idiotic tag teams that are just so boring. Well, the Dudebusters got killed, they were buried by the new team. I’m so sick of the tag division in the WWE. I long for the days when good tag-team wrestling existed and there were several teams gunning for the tag titles.

Remember the Killer Bees, British Bulldogs, The Orient Express, The Rockers, The Barbarians, Harlem Heat, Public Enemy, The Eliminators and so many others? Oh man, I wish it were back in the day.

Layla defeated Beth Phoenix

Layla and Michelle McCool battled Beth Phoenix for the title, but when Beth Phoenix fell to the floor, Layla pinned the champion. This match was ok, not great, but it was smart the way it played out, with Phoenix having a knee injury.

Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero

Chavo got killed, I don’t know why he is still working for WWE, he’s just a jobber.

Rey Mysterio vs Cm Punk

This match was not half bad, it featured all the spots that both men have put on in their last two matches. The only difference here was that the new member of the Society came in and helped Punk beat up Mysterio.

Overall this night of smackdown wasn’t all that great. I was actually tired, and didn’t really enjoy the majority of the matches. It had a few good moments, but it was dumb.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/7/10 Results

MVP defeated Luke Gallows
Kelly Kelly & Tiffany defeated Team Laycool
Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler
Christian defeated Cody Rhodes
Kane defeated Jack Swagger via dq

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/7/10 Review

The show opened up with Matt Hardy in the ring. It was crazy, only because Drew McIntyre came down and the two brawled. Drew once again got the better of fat ass Matt Hardy and knocked him the F OUT. It was classic. It took a long time to break them up, and when Drew wouldn’t get off of Hardy he was suspended, then he got stripped of the Intercontinental Title.

When he wouldn’t stop further, he was FIRED! Teddy Long FIRED DREW MCINTYRE.

MVP defeated Luke Gallows

This match wasn’t that great, but MVP got an assist from Rey Mysterio on the outside, and the distraction served to let MVP get the win. It sparked some life in the match up, that’s for sure.

Kelly Kelly & Tiffany defeated Team Laycool

I was eating a slice of pizza during this match up, and ended up missing a bit of the match, not that anyone cares. I don’t care about the divas, you don’t care about them either, admit it.

Teddy Long announced that four competitors will compete in a single elimination tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion.

Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler

A relatively good match with both competitors nearly getting the win; I wanted Ziggler to take it, and it looked all good until Thunder in Paradise hit and it was over for Dolph Ziggler.

Christian defeated Cody Rhodes

Another quality outing from Cody Rhodes, and wow, he really put it out there. Christian took a lot of abuse in this match, and I thought for sure he was going to lose this one, but it was Christian that capitalized on a shoulder to the ring post to win this match up with the Killswitch. I liked it.

Kane defeated Jack Swagger via dq

This match sucked. Big Show was at ring side. The match was slow moving, and only proves that Kane sucks, and needs to retire. The match was thrown out when Kane got thrown into the corner without a turnbuckle.

Post match, Big Show chokeslammed Swagger through a table.

This show was ok at best.
