The first thing I noticed was that without the commercials, Smackdown was only 1 hour and 13 minutes long. That's NOT 2 hours of wrestling at all. Of all the DVD's I missed in the last few years, I'm not going to miss the Royal Rumble 2011 dvd, now that I've seen the recap from the opening of Smackdown. We had a recap of last week, which is great for me, since I missed it last week. The editing from the WWE is phenomenal, I love it. They really made last week's main event look incredible.
I love Greenday's previous works (from their 7" records to Warning) and their new work sucks, complete with the Smackdown song, it sucks. Whatever happened to those idiots?
The show opened up with my favorite heel, ALBERTO DEL RIO! A little throwback to my personal name, Jorge ALBERTO! JORGE ALBERTO DEL RIO! I like the sound of it, but you, you already knew that.
Del Rio had a full valentines day set, and Kofi kingston wrecked it completely, and chased Del Rio out. It was a nice throwback to all those shows from the past.
BOOKER T on COLOR COMMENTARY IS AWESOME! I LOVED HEARING BOOKER T!
Kofi Kingston and Del Rio locked horns in this next match and I thought it worked out well. Kofi had a great fast paced offensive style, meanwhile Alberto Del Rio was trying to counter and slow things down, but he wasn't able to contain all of Kofi, until mid way through the match. Booker is a great color guy, I loved it. I HATE Cole. The end of the match had Del Rio putting on his arm bar and that was that, Kofi tapped out. A good competitive television match, and something that Raw isn't getting 90% of the time, but you, you already knew that!
Alberto Del Rio defeated Kofi Kingston
I absolutely love how over with the crowd the tag team champions are. Santino and Kozlov get a reaction better than ANY other tag team in WWE. The corre is awful.
Justin Gabriel took a great deal of offense to Kozlov, which was interesting to see indeed. Gabriel should be his own man, he doesn't need to be with Corre at all. Kozlov used a lot of power moves, and it was actually interesting to see. The Corre at ringside interfered but Santino was outside regulating with a COBRA! Kozlov eventually went forward, right into a 450 splash and lost!
Justin Gabriel defeated Kozlov
After the match, The Corre beat up the tag team champions.
Up next Drew McIntyre faced Chris Masters. These two jobbers suck. This match was ok to say the least, and no one cared. Masters did throw up some nice moments, including a nice throw up sit down power bomb! McIntyre won after Masters flew off the top rope and couldn't recover. McIntyre hit the Future Shock DDT on Masters and this match was over. Goodbye Chris Masters...hope you enjoy TNA.
Drew McIntyre defeated Chris Masters
Everyone on the internet keeps talking about how Rey Mysterio is injured, but after watching him against Wade Barrett, I'm calling BS on the whole thing. Rey Mysterio was all over Barrett and with a quick distraction out came the distraction and Wade got the win. However, the real story here is how can Mysterio be injured and perform so many spots with relative ease.
Wade Barrett defeated Rey Mysterio
The Corre came out and beat up Mysterio. Maybe they'll have an injury angle here? Big Show came out to help Mysterio and the Big guy took EVERYONE out!
BROOKLYN BROOKLYN! OUt came JTG to wrestle next and I didn't care, you didn't care, and Shad is doing a comic book. Things got even more boring when Kane came out. The Big Slow Machine. Kane buried JTG and he's going to be joining NEW JACK in TNA to reform the GANGSTAS.
Kane defeated JTG
Eve put on a show against Layla. I couldn't believe how much offense Eve Torres put up here, and really looked improved. Eve eventually hit some great spots including a standing moonsault, a Russian legsweep, and great dropkicks. Despite constant interference by Michaelle McCool, Layla still lost the match to Eve!
Eve defeated Layla
Post match, it looked like Laycool is on the verge of breaking up.
I still mark out huge for Edge and his entrance. He's the man! At least his entrances are.
Edge and Dolph Ziggler put on another great match up. The two work really well together and Ziggler is one of the best performers that the WWE has made in a long time. He has a lot of great in ring presence, and despite a terrible name and weird gimmick, he has overcome the stupidity to make one heck of a heel against Edge. The crowd was way into this match, yelling Vickie Sucks! The match would have many nearfalls for Ziggler, and Vickie would get really desperate towards the end, eventually setting up a spear of her own on Edge! Vickie ran straight into Edge and Edge didn't even budge! That was a great moment in Wrestling history! She then said she was injured, while she was distracted, Edge hit Ziggler with a huge SPEAR! However, because there was no ref, no one counted the pinfall. Edge then speared Ziggler again and Vickie saw it this time! Out came Clay Matthew of the GREENBAY PACKERS and he counted the 3 COUNT! EDGE THEN WON THE MATCH! Thanks to a little defensive help!
Edge defeated Ziggler
Overall this night of wrestling was the best of the week. I loved Smackdown and I'm hoping that the draft is done soon, so that some of the other guys get more wrestling action in. I loved watching and cheering for a change, although Michael Cole ruined it for me.
Michael Cole at the end of the show kept screaming out DOLPH ZIGGLER IS THE NEW CHAMPION! It was annoying as hell, and I'm hoping they fire him. I know, it's a long shot.

Randy Orton defeated The Miz via DQ
Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero
Drew McIntyre defeated Kaval
Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston defeated Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger
John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero
WWE Smackdown 12/21/10 Review
A special Tuesday night smackdown would be the start of something good, until I heard the worst Greenday track ever recorded. I hate the post "Warning" greenday sound, they went soft and sold out. I liked when they were punk...now they are? I don't know, pop.
Randy Orton defeated The Miz via DQ
The first match was The Miz facing off against Randy Orton in rematch from the ppv, although this was not a tables match. The Miz was running from Orton, and Orton was hitting Miz with heavy shots, and this thing looked like a burial job, if it weren't for The Miz constantly running out of the ring, scared.
Once Orton made a slight judgment error, The Miz started to mount a nice comeback with some rights and lefts, a suplex, some counters to Orton's signature turns, but Orton kept at it, and would eventually get the upper hand yet again. I'm not a big Orton fan, but he works really well with the Miz, and the two have a good timing, that really gets the crowd involved in their matches. I liked the pace the of this one. Alex Riley would help Miz regain the upper hand again, and this made Orton look all the more vulnerable, and Miz smarter for having Alex Riley helping him out.
Stryker stated that Orton was favoring his shoulder and neck, and the two other commentators disagreed, and after the men argued, Orton did exactly what Stryker said, he took a back drop and he favored his neck and looked injured. He would come back though, and hit a nice series of movies then his inside out DDT and was ready to deliver the RKO but Alex Riley interfered, only stopping the Viper the RKO was hit, giving Randy Orton the win via Disqualification after Riley ran in yet again! Yep. Riley saves the Miz.
Post match Randy Orton was all set to hit the punt but instead delivered a HUGE RKO to Alex Riley as Miz crawled his way out of the ring. Orton looked strong for once, and I like him 100 times better in this role than I did as the champion. This match was a quality encounter, even if there was a DQ finish, and I can only say that Miz has shocked me yet again, he's not a one trick pony, he has a lot of gusto and he proved it once again with a great match up here.
The Big Show once again was giving out cool stuff backstage as Santa Claus. Hornswoggle was also ther to give out presents. Eve joined them, and it looked interesting enough, but I knew what was coming. Dashing Cody Rhodes ran down and messed up the ring, beat up Hornswoggle, and made The Big Show very upset.
Edge cut a promo, and then Kane came out...I don't remember much of this encounter cause I was getting some more coffee.
Drew McIntyre defeated Kaval
Kaval was completely squashed here. Drew kicked him in the face which looked really sick, then hit the Future Shock DDT and this thing was over. Drew wins, Kaval gets buried, he needs to go back to TNA.
Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero
Despite Chavo's continual play up of his "Latino" heat gimmick, or rather the late Great Eddie Guerrero's gimmick, he just can't manage to get away from jobber status. Santino got a beating throughout this match but was able to deliver The Cobra to pin Chavo yet again. Chavo needs to just quit and join TNA or something, he hasn't been over in such a long time.
Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston defeated Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger
This match was a good fast paced match with lots of room to breathe. I'm surprised Del Rio was in this match as much as he was, while Swagger took most of the bumps here. Kofi and Rey are a good fast paced team and never let up on the offense. They hit all your crowd pleasing spots, and then with the 619 and Trouble In Paradise knocking out the bad guys, Kofi and Rey won. The two did a nice double High Cross body off the top rope, and boy, the 12 year old inside of me was going completely nuts for this match. This match was nothing more than a crowd pleaser, and a quality match up after the squash match before it.
John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero
John Cena started this match up fast and I liked it. John was completely in control and Ziggler was bumping great like he was on Raw. Eventually Ziggler was able to capitalize on a Cena quick overlook and would work him over, and at one point Vickie Guerrero got in and got a couple of shots in against Cena. This once again is a testament to how good Ziggler is in ring, as he is one of the most competant workers that the WWE has. I can see Ziggler getting a world title run or at least getting over enough to get title shots because he was looking great against a much more experienced John Cena.
One of the best points of the match was a nice reversal on an Irish Whip from Ziggler in which he sent Cena into the ropes and Cena went for the shoulder block only to miss by a split second when Ziggler dropped and let Cena roll through the ropes onto the floor. It was such a well timed spot that I was marking out alongside the San Antonio crowd. I was going nuts, becuase this match, once again, was one of the best matches I've seen all year, and that's saying a lot.
Vickie Guerrero tagged in towards the end of the match and completely fell on her face as she tried to deliver a splash on Cena. Ziggler would eventually get back in and started to lose his cool as Cena was hitting his five moves of doom, and despite my hatred for him all year, I was marking out huge for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle! Ziggler countered the Attitude Adjustment and hit the Leg Drop (I forget what it's called) but wasn't able to win the match. Cena hit the STF and Vickie came in to argue with Cena and break up the submission attempt. CENA then kissed Vickie Guerrero and then hit the Attitude Adjustment on Ziggler and pinned the Intercontinental Champion two nights in a row!
This match was incredible fun and the kiss on Cena was awesome to see. Better yet was the attempt at an Attitude Adjustment on Vickie Guerrero! He was stopped by none other than CM PUNK! That's right CM PUNK jumped in with a chair and full wrestling gear and knocked out John Cena with a CHAIR!
A CM PUNK JOHN CENA FEUD?!?!?! I'm all in folks, I'm all freakin in if this is how they are going to build to that feud. Oh man, I love it. Smackdown, for once, was a great show, no filler all killer, I liked it a lot, and you should've liked it too. What a great couple of nights of wrestling.
Whether you hate John Cena or Love John Cena, you're going to probably want to check out The John Cena Experience 3 DISC DVD set or the BLU RAY High Definition John Cena Experience. The set contains 16 matches from all over Cena's career but most importantly goes behind the scenes of his life to show you just how much effort he puts into working for the WWE. The commercial was quite interesting and the set looks like something you'd want to pick up. If you're interested in the John Cena Experience click here to purchase it for cheap, it helps this blog continue and hopefully gets me an internet connection at home, because right now I'm using the old library in my town.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/5/10 Review
The show started with Edge coming to the ring immediately, as he would be facing Alberto Del Rio in a one on one match up first.
Edge vs Alberto Del Rio No Contest
This match was a good overall back and forth match with lots of random spots to consider, but it was cut short. Just when Edge looked like he was going to win this one, Nexus ran down and beat up both competitors, throwing them out of the ring, and ending the match in a no contest.
Nexus got on the mic, but the Smackdown locker room ran down and beat everyone up. However, one thing to note, there was no sign of Wade Barrett.
Dolph Ziggler defeated JTG
JTG is still employed? JTG loses this match, and didn't look like he coudl win at any point during the contest. Dolph won with the sleeper hold and that was that.
Post match, one of the NXT rookies came down and got slapped by Vickie Guerrero.
Mvp defeated Drew McIntyre & Dashing Cody Rhodes in a triple threat match
The three men put on a good overall match up. There was a lot of distinct action from all three men, and it was interesting to see how they would all interact. MVP eventually looked like the favorite, and would manage to get the pinfall! MVP will face Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental title sooner than later. I didn't hate this match, and out of the three, still think that Dashing Cody Rhodes has the most promise.
Vickie Guerrero defeated Kaitlyn
The worst match in Smackdown history...seriously...worst match EVER!
Tyler Reks defeated Chris Masters
A glorified squash match that I was too tired to pay attention to.
Team Smackdown defeated Nexus
This match only proved to push Edge higher as he got the pinfall and was able to one up Otunga and Kane at the same time with two spears. Overall, not a bad match, but it fell flat with me, that's for sure.
Another Smackdown has come and gone, and it wasn't all that bad. It's not very good either, but then again, no one is watching. The ratings are bad, and the stories just aren't as compelling as the A show is right now. Nexus losing doesn't make sense to me, and no signs of Wade or John Cena is interestnig, and I'm sure we'll find out later.
The week is over for me, I'm going to sleep, I feel like crap. 14 months and still no job....and no hope.

The Big Show vs. CM Punk
WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/11/10 Review
It's beyond funny to me that news outlets were seriously considering whether or not The Undertaker was in fact dead. I was even asked to write a news piece for a local paper about whether or not The Undertaker is in fact in a coma, not just a wrestling story line. I don't know why people believe all sorts of stuff in the world of WWE, but hey, it happens I guess.
Remember when Billy & Chuck were going to get married? The national media was all over the story and they were on the covers of so many different non-wrestling papers. Then what? 3 Minute warning? Well, that's where we are now, Kane and The Undertaker start off the show, well...a focus on last week and how the Undertaker was found sleeping or dead, whatever. Kane's quest to find out what is happening will most likely be the focal point of WWE Smackdown, and we'll eventually either get Rikishi admitting that he did it for the Rock, or Kane facing the Undertaker yet again.
Remember the whole “IS He Dead?” story line with Kane? This is like a 2.0 of that story, and I'm not sure I like where it's going.
Why would the WWE put the champion in a match that opens the show? Remember the days when the Champion didn't wrestle for free television or didn't wrestle in the first MATCH! This sucks.
It's funny to me that Daniel Bryan got fired for not being PG yet Punk can say that he was a victim of an assassination attempt? That's not PG, that's not non-violent.
Before the match started, CM Punk came down and was on the mic, ranting and raving as usual.
Big Show got on the mic and started talking trash too. I'm sick of these 30 minute starting points with NO wrestling...man, that south park parody is looking more and more true.
Kane showed up on the screen and cut a promo about random crap that had to deal with his brother...I'm sick of Kane already. Get back to JOBBING!
Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger
This match was back and forth, with no clear dominant wrestler. I was surprised that the WWE made Swagger look weak in this one at times, because he's the champion. Mysterio has been on a roll since he knocked off the Undertaker and it keeps growing. He wasn't letting the much bigger Swagger take control often, even though the Champion was definitely in control a good part of the match. Swagger was also getting hit from all sides with fast paced offense from Mysterio, so maybe my comments are unfounded. Mysterio managed to win the match, and again, I'm shocked that the champion gets jobbed out. Swagger is a weak champion, losing key matches, and looking weak against former champions.
I must note that Mysterio's title reigns were the same, with him getting losing streaks until narrowly retaining at the ppv matches. Mysterio is getting pushed like crazy right now, and I'm not sure why. Swagger beat up mysterio after the bell, and Kane came out. Kane choke slammed Swagger, and once again, I must wonder, why did they fire Daniel Bryan for choking out a guy, yet Kane can choke people and slam them without recourse, just sayin.
This match was given time, it was interesting to watch at times, but the logic of a weak champion that narrowly wins big matches, escapes me.
Layla and Michelle McCool came out with their rookie, and it prompted Tiffany and Kelly Kelly to come out, and I'm not sure why.
Layla defeated Tiffany
This match showed some botches. Layla got the win, but after a terrible first round of manuevers, it's interesting to note that LayCool keeps winning. This crap sucks, the divas suck, Kaval is in an interesting storyline where he's an NXT rookie and gets to bang his pro's, right? Oh no? That's not this show? Crap. Whatever, this crap sucks. I hate the divas.
They showed the footage from Monday Night Raw where the NXT guys showed up to beat up everyone and tear up the ring. They omitted some of the more “harsh” moments that got Daniel Bryan fired, but who cares? I don't.
Christian came out and she had a new haircut or something, and Vickie Guerrero came out on the mic to get booed out of the building. She introduced Christian's opponent, Dolph Ziggler.
Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler
This match wasn't all that great, and I'm sick of seeing Christian. His matches are so formulaic, and he hasn't had a quality impact in a long time. After winning via an off the ropes sunset flip, Hawkins and Archer came in and beat up Christian, but I don't care about those idiots either.
Dolph Ziggler then ran in and put Christian to sleep.
Why is it that Dolph Ziggler is far more interesting than anything Christian has done in the past weeks? Odd.
Drew McIntyre came out and called out Teddy Long, then made him watch the recap of last week. I'm sick of “fat ass” Matt Hardy, and Drew McIntyre has the charisma of a mayonaise sandwich. Smackdown was ruining my high on wrestling that I had at the end of Monday Night Raw.
It looked like Drew McIntyre was going to announce that Teddy Long was fired, but instead Kofi Kingston came out on the mic, and he lost his Jamaican accent...that was fast.
Kofi beat up Drew McIntyre, that's that. I don't know what else to say about this stupid exchange.
Drew McIntyre announced that he would face Teddy Long next week on smackdown..ocne again I say, WHO CARES?
The Big Show vs. CM Punk
The Big Show essentially beat up CM Punk for a great portion of this match. Show wasn't giving the former champion much of a chance, and rightfully so. The giant was just beating up Punk. Punk was selling all of Big Show's offense like crazy, and that was interesting to see, that's for sure. Show was going to win, but the Straightedge Society jumped Big Show. Kane then came out for the save? I gues Big Show isn't to blame?
Nope, Kane chokeslammed The Big Show. Once again, Chokeslames are PG but choking a ringside idiot isn't.
Kane sucks, he's still nothing more than a jobber to me.
Smackdown sucked, face it. It was a boring show with maybe 1 good match, and Kane getting pushed as if he was being set up for a match with the Undertaker....I'm sick of Smackdown, but am looking forward to Monday Night Raw.

WWE Monday Night Raw 5/10/2010 Results
Chris Jericho defeated DH Smith

Evan Bourne defeated Zack Ryder
Tyson Kidd defeated The Miz
The Whole NXT Roster defeated Yoshi Tatsu, Goldust, Santino, and John Morrison
Randy Orton defeated Ted Dibiase Jr and Edge in a handicap match
WWE Monday Night Raw 5/10/2010 Review
This night on Raw the opening was Randy Orton about to open up about why he doesn’t like Edge, but instead, was interrupted by Meat Loaf. Meat Loaf came down and was annoying Orton, and in classic 90’s wrestling style, Meat Loaf got RKO’D in the center of the ring, and the crowd went nuts. They are building Orton just like they built Stone Cold, and it is working out just fine with me.
Edge came out and I was cheering, I like that song man, I don’t know what it is, but I like it. Edge got on the mic and started mouthing out.
Edge announced the new permanent guest host of Raw…Vickie Guerrero.
Chris Jericho defeated DH Smith
This match wasn’t all that great, but it had Jericho winning after a thumb in the eye and a code breaker. Fast paced, boring kind of match. I was kind of bored, but hey, Jericho does an ok job.
R Truth came out with Flava Flav on the mic, during his rap song. It was interesting to see, as Flav had a huge clock and was dancing all around.
R Truth vs William Regal
This match was interrupted by the Colons, who were paid off by Ted Dibiase Jr, and was boring, but I’m sure it will lead somewhere.
Evan Bourne defeated Zack Ryder
Evan Bourne is still employed? What happened? Ryder took it to Bourne for the most part, and was looking solid in this match. Evan Bourne got the win, despite some interferance by Alicia Fox. This match was relatively boring, and Bourne got Gail Kim to grab his arm on the way back.
John Cena got jumped by Sheamus and Batista. Mark Henry saved John Cena from getting a worse beating than he already received from Batista and Sheamus, and it was relatively boring.
Tyson Kidd defeated The Miz
In a fast match, that barely had Miz breaking a sweat, Tyson Kidd beat The Miz, earning a title shot next week against a member of the Hart Dynasty.
The Miz then got on the mic, and he said that he’d wrestle none other than, Bret “The Hitman” Hart.
The Whole NXT Roster defeated Yoshi Tatsu, Goldust, Santino, and John Morrison
The Nxt guys were in this handicap match against four stars of Raw, and it wasn’t half bad. Daniel Bryan rolled up Santino and this match was done, I liked it…for what it was.
William Regal tried to rap…it was terrible.
Randy Orton defeated Ted Dibiase Jr and Edge in a handicap match
This match was not going to play out well for Orton, at least not in the beginning, but it eventually got really good. Edge and Dibiase worked well as a team, but after R Truth ran down for an interference, Orton was able to capitalize and win this match up with the good ol’ RKO!
It was a good raw, not a great raw, it managed to hold my attention, but for some reason, I want a burger...not really related to Raw. Nxt review is forthcoming.

WWE Monday Night Raw 6/1/09 Results

Beth Phoenix and Maryse defeated Kelly Kelly and Mickie James
The Colons defeated William Regal and Matt Hardy
Chavo Guerrero and John Cena defeated The Big Show and The Miz
Kofi Kingston defeated MVP for the U.S Championship
Vickie Guerrero defeated Santino in a Slop Match
Ric Flair fought Randy Orton in the parking lot
WWE Monday Night Raw 6/1/09 Review
The show opened up with a cage and Legacy with Randy Orton inside. Orton is looking older, as the camera spins a close up, he says that this Sunday he’s going to defend his title in a cage. Oddly enough he didn’t first say that he’s going to win. Oh yeah, they fired Kennedy, cause of t his idiot, but that’s just news. I need a news guy, too bad I can’t afford one. In the ring Orton flips a coin to see who Batista must face tonight I a steel cage match! Cody Rhodes will face Batista in a steel cage match tonight! This is a scary moment, cause Rhodes got on the mic! Hilarious! He can’t talk and he doesn’t have the charisma of his father, where’s Goldust? Get him back to the glory of his debut. Remember when Goldust fought Piper at Wrestlemania 12? Because Razor Ramone got suspended? That was good.
Ric Flair came prancing out to confront Randy Orton and I couldn’t help but remember when Flair got his head slammed in between the cage door at Fall Brawl 97 when him and the horseman were suppose to beat the NOW, but Curt Hennig turned on him, remember? Yeah, well Flair said he was going to call out Orton every week. Flair, retired, asked for Orton to fight him in the parking lot later tonight, we’ll see how that pans out.
Batista defeated Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match
The first match was a complete mishap for Rhodes. Batista annihilated Rhodes and as Randy Orton came down to see his new protégé in action, Batista bombed Rhodes nearly through the mat, and it was all over in under 10 minutes. This was a boring cage match to me, but you gotta admit, Batista shouldn’t have a hard time against Rhodes, but on the flip side, isn’t WWE supposed to build new characters? How does Cody Rhodes get over if he’s always jobbing out to the monster Faces?
Beth Phoenix and Maryse defeated Kelly Kelly and Mickie James
This match wasn’t horrendous, but it wasn’t necessarily that great either. There were a few moments, but the best set was towards the end when Rosa distracted Kelly Kelly allowing Maryse to hit a nice ddt and get the win. Mickie James had a few high spots, but nothing that I would write too much about. This match seemed obvious and no diva really had a chance to show off her stuff, so I guess that’s that.
The Colons defeated William Regal and Matt Hardy
Remember when Regal got a comeback and he won the King of The Ring last year? Yeah no one else does…oh wait, the announce team remembers. I hate mashed up teams like Regal and Hardy, and it’s hilarious to me that the WWE would try to get the Colons on the show with such a stupid match, then again, maybe this will set up a Hardy and Regal match up? I don’t know. The Colons look amazing out there as usual, they are right on and direct with every move and combination. I just hope that they don’t split them up and feud against each other like the ill fated Hardy feud that seemed to be lackluster.
Chavo Guerrero and John Cena defeated The Big Show and The Miz
Standard tag match where Cena is made to look unstoppable against odds against him; he basically gets beat up for a good portion of the match, then he comes back only to realize that a blind tag has been made, making the Heels look like they are smarter, and of course they are, then comes the swerve. Show for instance, knocked out The Miz and cena tagged Guerrero and pinned The Miz winning the match up.
Oh but that’s not all, Big Show and Cena have to brawl to set up their match this Sunday and it’s not looking good at all. Although, Cena jumped off the top rope and landed into Big Show’s right hand, he then was put into a sick looking Camel Clutch! I was cheering harder for Big Show than when Big Boss Man dragged his father’s casket away in a graveyard segment from his stupid title reign, when everyone was injured and he was headlining boring ppv’s. So Cena was left out cold, Big Show looked good, Guerrero and Miz were out cold too, and that was that.
Kofi Kingston defeated MVP for the U.S Championship
This was an interesting match up, because for intents and purposes these two wrestlers are faces, right? I’m not sure who had the upper hand going into this match, but one might argue that MVP has a little more experience so he’s got the upper hand, but Kofi was putting some great mat work in, instead of just flying off the ropes and doing the high spot thing. After the commercial, MVP hit a sweet Superplex from the top rope! “Shades of Bret Hart” with the execution of this amazing move. In a shocker, at least to me, Kofi Kingston barely edged out a victory with a nice roll through reversal, from shoulders to cradle to reversal, and Kofi pulls a win and the U.S Championship! Now do you think he can hold onto it? We’ll see…MVP loses the title in a nice face vs face match, I liked it, you might have liked it too.
Vickie Guerrero defeated Santino
Santino was facing Vickie Guerrero in a slop match? I didn’t know where this was going and then out came Hardy and Regal to mop up, Santino then threw slop over everyone, hitting Regal in the face with it! After a few moments for laughter and shock, Regal and Hardy put the boots to Santino, and of course Vickie Guerrero wins this match. Nice, way to bury Santino, the best new WWE superstar in recent memory…sure he can’t wrestle that well, but he moves merch and puts butts in the seat. Whatever…Vickie wins, that’s that.
Ric Flair fought Randy Orton in the parking lot
In a non-match of sorts, Flair fought Randy Orton in a street fight in the parking lot area. He had the upper hand for a few moments, throwing Orton into gates and doors, but Orton turned things around and threw Flair through some boxes. However, Flair made it interesting, and Orton was taking some serious damage, which was actually nice to see for a change. In fact, I was almost marking out huge cause this was reminiscent to the classic Hardcore title matches that we used to get in 1998 – 1999 when the 24-7 rule was in effect. Flair was busted open the hard way, and it was obvious that Orton was going for that. Flair and Orton fought back to the main building and were fighting on the announce table! Flair slapped on a figure four on Orton on top of the Announcers table! Then out came Legacy to beat up Flair and I was wondering why they didn’t show up sooner? At this point I wondered if this was setting up Batista somehow, and of course you knew it was as the crowd was calling for him. Legacy was kicking the crap out of flair and at this point he was inside the ring! Orton commanded Legacy to lock the cage doors for protection and the beat down of retired Flair continued!
Batista ran down to make the save however, the steel cage door was locked, and Batista couldn’t get in…so it seemed. Batista was starting to climb the cage doors as Randy hit a sick RKO on a seemingly dead Ric Flair and this was getting out of hand, for wrestling’s sake that is.

WWE Monday Night Raw 05/18/09 Review
It’s good to be back home, and I’m sure all 3 of you readers missed a few reviews that were missed. I noticed that the site made no money while I was gone, and that’s fine, but I don’t know if I can get a TNA ppv this month as I’m broke now.
Randy Orton opened up the show. He started talking trash as usual….then who came out but the Retired Ric Flair. So much for that final send off, huh? I guess he’s back somehow. Flair announces that Orton’s next title defense will come inside a Steel Cage, so that he can’t get disqualified? Oh it’s one of those? The ones where the ref isn’t inside? Because when’s the last time we saw that happen?
Orton delivered one of the worst shots I’ve ever to Flair’s face. It was so ill-timed. Batista ran down after Legacy was starting to come down the stage, but the numbers game once again helped Orton and his crew of misfits gain control. John Cena came down for the save and the ring was cleared! This of course will lead to a tag match…I hate tag matches that don’t involve two “tag teams” alone. But such is life sometimes, huh?
Kelly Kelly won The Divas Battle Royal
Alright, the divas were piled into a Divas Battle Royal. I didn’t want to see any of this, I don’t like the divas at all, it’s a big tease at this point with little to no wrestling prowess at all. Kelly Kelly’s elimination of Beth Phoenix might cause her to start a feud of sorts. Maryse sprayed Mickie James in the face with some perfume or something, and Kelly Kelly wins this match up! Whatever….I don’t care. “Holla…Holla….” Man that music sucks.
Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero
How do you make Chavo look like a good wrestler, or make it seem like he’s still a relevant superstar for the wwe? Have him wrestle Santino, in a hilarious match where he stomps out Santino at every move. Then again, Santino randomly “hulked” up, I kid you not, that being said, Santino was the accidental technical wrestler, ducking and diving his way to a win! So my plot to call out WWE conspiracies to make Chavo good again…backfired because Santino stole one here.
Chavo then got on the mic and said that Santina would have to defend her Wrestlemania diva’s title or whatever against Vickie later tonight. I dreaded hearing this lame announcement…lame.
The Colons defeated Goldust & The Brian Kendrick
Once again, Goldust is thrown into an unlikely tag team partnership. Remember, previously, Goldust was great with the likes of Booker T! Remember that? He also had short lived partnership with The Blue Meanie, and others. Goldust is great as a comedy act and it’s interesting to see him in this match with Brian Kendrick, but I wasn’t sure if this thing was going to carry over into something more, especially when The Colons’ were delivering like the best tag team in the world! The two are amazing in ring together, and I hope that the WWE doesn’t split them into a “brother vs brother” feud. Kendrick lost this one and he’s on a major losing streak. He then yelled at Goldust and provoked him to fight him. I hope Goldust has a third or fourth coming here, Dustin should just be glad that he has a job right now.
Hornswoggle came into the ring and fought Kendrick with the help of Goldust, forming a very unlikely partnership. Why not? Goldy and Horny? I’m tired.
The Miz came down to ringside and talked about how he beat Cena. He was also dressed like Cena, making for a hilarious moment in time. The King came into the ring and started calling out wrestlers to compare The Miz’s victory over John Cena to logic. It was hilarious, and a part of me really wanted Batista to come out at King’s call and beat him up, it would’ve been awesome.
The Big Show came down to ring side and beat up The Miz, which was interesting…in that The Big Show just killed The Miz.
MVP defeated Matt Hardy
MVP is really BALLIN! He’s got me saying that at random locations, signals and all! I was in the sports section at the Supermarket, and I was “BALLIN” with anything ball shaped! It was fun. I can’t really avoid it, it’s impulsive; try it, it makes you feel better. MVP and Hardy are familiar opponents and they put on a good match up, with Hardy pretending that his arm was really broken, and after the random spots, the inevitable happened, MVP pinned Matt Hardy and it was all over. MVP wins again, proving that he’s still BALLIN!
Santino’s backstage antics were great. But the lead in was Chavo on the floor with Vickie on a chair…it looked really awkward. I don’t want to say incest…but my wheels aer turning.
Vickie Guerrero defeated Santina in a Miss Wrestlemania match
This match was dumb. Santina got beat up by William Regal, and of course that should’ve garnered disqualification…however, they turned this into a no dq match midway through.
Batista & John Cena defeated Legacy
I’m not sure how many times we’ve seen this, but I feel that this is just boring. We see this too often, handicap match with the faces looking great. So if you’ve seen any major previous match featuring the top faces in the game, you probably saw this match. I have a feeling that this match is at the house shows, but whatever the case maybe, Legacy was actually doing a good job holding their own midway through the match up. They just seemed like a well oiled machine, and why not? They are truly gaining on the “legacy” of The Four Horseman at this point. They have some more major title’s to go, but overall it’s getting good, seriously good. Things were falling apart until Ric Flair came down and lent an assist to the good guys, and Batista gets the pin on Orton!
Flair never retires…lame.
I’m tired, that’s it folks. I’ll be back tomorrow with ECW’s show review…enjoy.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 2/28/09 Results and Review The Brothers Hardy
The show started of with John Cena…lame.
The Colons defeated The Miz & John Morrison
Apparently the titles were on the line? This is the first time I’ve seen The Colon’s look strong and walk out victorious on smackdown. The two put up a good match up against the better team, and actually stole one, yeah, ,they stole one. Carlito picked up the victory after the back cracker, and got his woman back. The match took a little while, considering that they don’t usually put that much time into matches these days. I really thought this match was well done, and it’s a shame that it doesn’t happen more often. The Colons are still champs, although the titles should be unified so that only 1 team is the highest.
Vladimir Kozlov defeated The Undertaker
This match was quite the match up, and I guess we won’t need to see Undertaker and this dude at Wrestlemania now right? The match was intense, with a lot of moments going to Undertakers, tired bag of moves, and thins were going very well indeed for the Deadman. He eventually got up to the top rope and was ready to drop a lariat off the top, but was caught midway by Kozlov into a powerslam! He hooked the leg, and it was all over. That’s right, Kozlov has defeated The Undertaker clean! This is the second shocker of the week! I didn’t think Christian would lose on ECW and he did, and I didn’t think Undertaker would lose clean to Kozlov but he did. Wow, WWE is throwing some curve balls at me, and I’m starting to dig Smackdown. A good overall match, it was given time to develop, and I liked it. I still can’t believe Kozlov won without cheating or anything. A shocker indeed.
Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy were supposed to wrestle, but nothing happened. Jeff went to ringside, then walked away, and that was it. Lame. What a build up through advertising, for nothing.
Chavo Guerrero defeated Shelton Benjamin (non title match)
Chavo gets a nod in the right direction. This was a quick match up and the story wasn’t that great in the ring. The major story here was that Chavo was thrown into MVP, forcing a quick distraction as Shelton Benjamin tried to role up Chavo, only to lose in a reversal. Post match, MVP hit the Drive By on Benjamin, and the two are set on a path for a nice collision in the near future.
Big Show defeated John Cena
It was hard for me to get into this match up. I already saw these two wrestle at Wrestlemania and Cena won. Cena won the US Title off of big show, to be exact. This match was actually not half bad, and Big Show knows what to do with his huge frame. I actually started to believe the impossible, maybe Cena will lose for a change. Then he was mounting a come back and even did the Attitude Adjuster on Big Show! I thought this match was in the bag for Cena, then a quick distraction from Edge led to Big Show hitting Cena in the face with a closed fist, a chokeslam and BOOM. Big Show defeated John Cena with a pinfall.

WWE Smackdown 1/2/09 Results and Review
That’s right we’re in a new year and all things are great for WWE, we start the show with Triple H and Vickie Guerrero!
Finlay and The Great Khali defeated Hawkins and Ryder
This match was jobber central. The Great Khali and Finlay cleaned house with ease. It’s funny to see that the former champions are getting screwed over. Why do they even still work for wwe? It just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Ezekiel & The Brian Kendrick defeated Jesse and Festus
This match was interesting to say he least. Jesse was on the receiving end of punishment from Ezekiel, causing the win. Overall this match was ok overall, but nothing special here. Just another jobber match, but you know what? It really made Ezekiel and Kendrick look awesome. I still think that Kendrick should get a chance at a singles title instead of once again getting a tag team title match or something with Ezekiel.
Kozlov defeated Hurricane Helms
I can not believe how bad things are getting with Helms. Last week Helms was battling for a title, this week? He was getting squashed in a match. I guess Helms is just like D-Lo Brown, he comes back gets a push and then just gets squashed by Kozlov. What a boring match, this match sucked, I’ll be honest. I like Kozlov but he’s just bulldozing everyone, and he doesn’t have the charisma that Bill Goldberg had in WCW when he had his streak going. Lame.
A couple of promos:
Jim Ross was announcing the participants in the rumble, only to have Shelton Benjamin come out and interrupt. That prompted the Undertaker to come out and beat him up! Big pop for the Undertaker during this segment, and he didn’t even get too sweaty. Good paycheck for the dead man.
Michelle McCool beat the crap out of this other diva. McCool is crazy, and she looks insane when she’s beating people up. I am genuinely scared for the Undertaker, who I hear likes her or something. (this is just a rumor that I overheard)
Kizarny defeated MVP
MVP is just a loser now. I don’t know where they are going with him at all, he’s once again jobbing out. Kizarny makes his debut, and it was not impressive at all. This was not a great debut at all. Kizarny was no impressive at all, and I’m not sure how long he is going to last in today’s fast paced world of wwe. We’ll see what they do with him, and if HHH will hold him down the roster.
The Hardy Boys defeated Edge & The Big Show
Your standard Hardy boys match up here. Edge and Big Show did work well together for the most part, and they had a good amount of fast tags and made things hard for the Hardys on several occasions in this match up. The Big Show walked out on Edge towards the end of this match and the Hardy’s took advantage. They basically decimated Edge and this match was all over too fast. Edge got worked, and man that was exciting. Edge just had no chance against these two high flyers. Great ending to an otherwise lackluster night of wrestling.

WWE Smackdown Results and review 8/22/08 More Same
Friday nights are the hardest for me. I spend 40 hours a week on a computer, and the last thing I want to do is review wrestling on a computer, but for you guys, my 3 readers, I’ll do anything…even if no one reads or buys anything! Whatever….I did manage to score 2 tickets to the October Raw here in Seattle, Wa. It is going to be a classic, the night after the October ppv.
Vickie Guerrero Pre-Recorded Segment:
This is boring. Seriously, this is the most boring introduction to Smackdown ever! She talks about how there’s going to be a Championship Scramble for Unforgiven! So both brands will have a championship scramble? Anyone else want breakfast? This truly does sound like something off of a Denny’s menu. I’m hungry, anyone else?
Maria defeated Natalya via Disqualification
Natalya is a little chunky for a diva, but she can wrestle! Did I see this correctly? Was Maria really trying to wrestle in this match up? She wasn’t exactly doing so hot out there, she did a few wrist moves, and arm drags, but not a whole lot more than that. Natalya was obviously trying to get Maria over, but it was short lived because Natalya nearly breaks Maria’s leg with a knee takedown. Maria is way too fragile for this type of wrestling and Natalya definitely looked to be overpowering Maria throughout the match. I know that the WWE is trying to push more “wrestling” amongst the women’s division, but honestly, it’s not working all that well for me. Maria’s efforts are great, and I applaud her attempts at getting better, but she’s got so long to go, that it doesn’t even matter how much she tries. Seriously, how many clothesline do I have to watch in one match? I’m sure Natalya has more in her than to bump for a wannabe wrestler, but oh well. Marise came out to interfere, and helped Natalya.
Post match, Michelle McCool came running down to ring side, and wow, she’s kind of good looking, but come on…is she really going to do anything to Natalya? I don’t know. This match sucked and I’m glad they finished it off.
Big Show backstage segment:
Big Show talks to Vickie and wants to be in the championship scramble, but he was left off the show, and walks away sad. That’s about it.
Big Show comes out and just sits down for whatever reason. He’s most likely going to force himself into the match at Unforgiven.
I’m tired of seeing The Big Show randomly smiling and waving at people, it seems like a stupid thing for him to be doing all the time. Can we just give him another gimmick or a feud, cause he’s wasted just smiling around, looking all cool and what not. Andre didn’t have to deal with that, did he? I think Andre was usually a heel and always a monster. Big show is boring.
The Brian Kendrick defeated Koslov, Jimmy Wang Yang, Super Crazy, Funaki, Hawkins and Ryder, Armando Estrada, The Brian Kendrick, Colt Cabana (not sure what his wwe name is) some other no name idiot in a 10 man elimination match
This match was cool. The Big Show came in and started eliminating everyone! He was throwing people over the top rope like crazy, he was tossing people two and three at a time. Show threw Kendrick over but his bodyguard caught him and his feet never touched the floor, so he wins the match by default. Kendrick qualifies for the WWE Championship Scramble at Unforgiven! You read that right, Brian Kendrick is getting a WWE title shot!
Where’s Paul London? Brian Kendrick is getting a monster push right now. He’s now in the WWE title picture with this win over 9 other guys thanks to The Big Show helping out. This has to be one of the biggest pushes in recent history. In fact, I haven’t seen such a huge push since Rick “The Model” Martel got a monster push as a singles wrestler back in the early 90’s. Wait, maybe not since Shawn Michaels went forward with a title show in 1992 against Bret Hart at a Survivor Series, remember that? Michaels was the Intercontinental champion and he got the title shot, only to lose to Hart in the closing moments of the match up! Will Brian Kendrick get a title run this early? Maybe. He is seriously getting pushed hard, but I can’t help but fear for Paul London, maybe he’ll just fade away. This match was a basic jobber style match. Show threw everyone out, and it was all over fast. You didn’t miss much in this bathroom match, the only thing good that came out of this was the ending.
R-Truth Segment:
I’m tired of seeing these. I know who the guy is, just unleash him like they unleashed D-Lo brown when he came out!
MVP defeated Festus via count out
MVP was getting his butt wooped in this match. He was not having an easy time with Festus at all. He was getting worked over really well by Festus. He was working hard to try and slow the big man down a little, and had been working on the shoulder of Festus, and really was looking like a veteran for a change, however Festus was just over powering MVP on all fronts. He eventually got the upper hand but not in the traditional sense. Festus clearly had this match going his way and was taking out MVP on the outside, while the ref counted up to 9 and MVP rushed a quick kick to Jesse and rolled himself in before the 10 count! The Bell rings and Festus goes back to being a lame duck. Mvp wins via count out to qualify for the WWE Championship scramble!
Post match, MVP was confused about Festus and tried to wake him up. He eventually ran full speed ahead and delivered a kick, knocking Festus over the top rope and onto the floor. MVP thought nothing of it and asked for his hand to be raised, as Festus was outside hurting for no apparent reason. MVP and The Kendrick in the title hunt together? I never thought that I would see this ever again, it’s going to be incredible to see how it all works out, and I hope that Triple H finally drops the world title, finally!
Shelton Benjamin defeated Finlay
If there are two solid workers in the WWE it’s these two. These guys are ring vets and this match proved it so well. I enjoyed this match greatly, as there were a lot of stiff shots given and taken by Benjamin and Finlay alike. At one point it looked as though Finlay got a concussion from Benjamin, then in another bump it appeared that Finlay’s back was severely hurt as it hit the ring apron hard after going over the top rope. Finlay kept in there and Benjamin was definitely losing sight as the match went further along. I’m not sure if Finlay was stalling or not, but it seemed like the ref and Benjamin were giving him time to recover after some of the harder bumps. The match was going fast and hard, but after the commercial break, Benjamin started going for rest moves, which really slowed down the pacing of the match. I kid you not, this went from back and forth, move to move, straight into a headlock and rest hold. I’m not sure why they went to a slower attack, but right when I was going to give up on this match up, things started to pick up and Finlay mounted a major comeback on Benjamin. But it was short lived as Mike Knox came out to distract Finlay, Benjamin capitalized and beat Finlay in this qualifying match up.
I thought it was a waste of time to invest so much effort into this match up, only to have Knox come out and distract Finlay. I wanted a clean finish, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Benjamin in the WWE Title hunt now? This is getting better and better by the match up.
Post match, Mike Knox gave Finlay a big boot and then started assaulting him. Benjamin left the ringside area.
Vickie Backstage Segment:
Vickie ponders whether or not to give Undertaker an apology for all that she has done in regards to his matches etc.
Jeff Hardy vs. The Great Khali
Your last match up of the evening was definitely interesting. Jeff Hardy fought The Great Khali and it was everything that I thought it would be. Khali was basically dominating this whole match up, and I wasn’t sure how Jeff Hardy would ever get the Great Khali to lose. Triple H was on color commentary and was making fun of Jeff Hardy the whole time. He basically said that “Jeff Hardy is not Triple” and maybe he was trying to telecast what was going to happen at the end of the match. However, Khali was NOT letting Hardy get any offense in, and Hardy wasn’t getting into any sort of groove at all. Hardy tried to mount comebacks in this match up but The Great Khali was continually hitting him with huge clubbing blows to the head and dropping him onto the mat. I don’t like the way Hardy is becoming another one of these “clones” that the WWE is pushing. He seems to take a beating for 75% of the match, only to lose at the very end for no apparent reason. He’s not as big as Hogan, but all the faces seem to be taking pages from the Hogan play book, allowing themselves to get beat for a good portion of the match only to win at the very last second with the help of the crowd. You can see this with C.M Punk for sure, but is Hardy doing the same thing?
Hardy managed a twist of fate, then went for everything on the top rope, but couldn’t muster up enough to get Khali down. Triple H got involved in the match and knocked Khali nearly out with a chair shot. Hardy missed the Twist of Fate, but Khali still goes down, like an idiot! Khali then hits the Swanton on Khali and picks up the three count!
This was the worst ending to a match that I’ve ever seen in my life. I don’t believe that Khali was really down for this one. What a load of crap, I want my 20 minutes back! Seriously, this was the worst ending…Man, WWE screws me over again!
Triple H Promo:
Triple H cuts a promo, because he must have read my blog and realized that he wasn't putting in enough hours at the office. So he cuts this promo, and it is your average Triple H promo where he says that no one is going to beat him and he's the game and he's cool. It's odd to see the crowd not heckle Triple H at all! The crowd just stays quiet for him and Triple H just goes on and on rambling on and on about how he's a 12 time champion. He sounds like Flair, but without the charisma. Triple H is stale, someone please beat him, please! Kenny Dykstra comes out and says one sentence before getting hit in the stomach and then getting the Pedigree! That's right, Kenny comes out to the show for about two seconds and then gets knocked the F out with the pedigree. Way to earn a pay check huh?
Let me see into the future....
"The WWE has come to terms with Kenny Dykstra. The WWE wishes Kenny the best in his future endeavors..."
Anyone agree? This promo sucked.
Final Segment Vickie, La Familia, and Undertaker in the ring:
This was boring, and didn’t have a whole lot to do with wrestling as a whole. Vickie and the family were in the ring trying to ask Undertaker to forgive them. They wanted to say sorry, and Undertaker was having none of it! He beats down the gang of idiots, and this is the way Smackdown goes out. What a whimper of stupidity! Who’s writing this piece of trash? Seriously, why can’t they end the night with wrestling? I mean, last time I checked this was in fact wrestling right? At least TNA has the courtesy of ending the night with wrestling! Even though they are hacked in a lot of ways and the endings are convoluted, at least they finish things off in the ring with wrestling. WWE likes to end their shows, at least Smackdown with random talking! This is stupid, I’m too tired to complain much more.
WWE Smackdown Results 8/22/2008
Maria defeated Natalya via Disqualification
The Brian Kendrick defeated Koslov, Jimmy Wang Yang, Super Crazy, Funaki, Hawkins and Ryder, Armando Estrada, The Brian Kendrick, Colt Cabana (not sure what his wwe name is) some other no name idiot in a 10 man elimination match
MVP defeated Festus via count out
Shelton Benjamin defeated Finlay
I didn’t have much hope for this night of wrestling. I was hoping for something good and for the most part, Smackdown delivered a good show overall. At least the members of their side of the Main Event had qualifying matches. Raw simply chose their members of the title match. I liked how the night went, and my favorite match was definitely Shelton Benjamin and Finlay. Those two can really wrestle great matches if they are given the opportunity. Hopefully these two make the main event really good, but we’ll have to wait and see how that all turns out.
The diva’s match was the lowest point of this show. The women’s division desperately needs wrestlers, not just Playboy models and random lookers. I don’t want to watch sexy women in my wrestling, I want to see wrestlers that can throwdown! I swear by the TNA knockouts division, and hopefully the WWE are watching TNA for hints on how to run the divas division.

WWE Smackdown 8/15/2008 Review Summerslam Cometh
Due to some traffic and a slow moving line at Best Buy, I didn’t catch the first 45 minutes of Smackdown. So I’m going to be reviewing what I did see, and talking about the results as well. Sorry…I know, I know, I’m slacking. But I’ll make it up to you, all 3 readers, by reviewing WWE Summerslam 2008 this weekend as I finally saved enough money to get a ppv from the WWE. So expect a full ppv review this Sunday, right after Summerslam concludes. Until then, enjoy the Smackdown Review here!
The Brian Kendrick defeated Scotty Goldman
Scotty Goldman had a lot of charisma, and they had a good promo for him too. He played up the comedic angle, and he wasn’t half bad. I have never seen this guy before, and he actually put on an ok set of moves, considering he’s just a jobber for the most part. Kendrick landed The Kendrick for the win, but I was somewhat impressed by Scotty Goldman’s debut. I highly doubt he’s going to be going to be featured forever on the show. He really is one step above the jobber level. Ezekiel dropped Goldman after the match up with a shoulder block…innovative huh?
Triple H Interview:
Triple H’s forehead looked really bad. He’s getting old, and it’s not looking all that great. He was cutting the average HHH promo, and Kenny Dykstra comes out and interrupts him. Kenny, from the spirit squad, and the two are going to wrestling later tonight? Sounds stupid if you ask me, but what do I know? Triple H needs to drop the title, there is absolutely NO reason for him to be the champion right now.
The Great Khali In Ring Segment:
The Great Khali got on the mic and just started rambling. The crowd was yelling what the whole time, that was awesome, but I don’t like this. I wish there was another way for Khali to garner some heat. This in ring promo was stupid to me. I was really bored and wasn’t sure why the wwe is trying to get heel heat with Khali and his mouth piece. I hope Khali wins this weekend, Triple H sucks.
Triple H defeated Kenny Dykstra
Did anyone in the world believe that Kenny Dykstra could possibly defeat Triple H? I have no doubt that Triple H will never do the job to Kenny. Kenny did look impressive, I do give him that, and Triple H did look surprised, and I liked the way this match up began. This wasn’t half bad actually, and Kenny has improved since his Spirit Squad days. Triple H of course wasn’t going to let Kenny get in too many shots, and this match was over before it even got unhinged. Triple H made quick work of Kenny and Dykstra is reduced to nothing more than a jobber. So much for pushing new talent huh? Triple wins with the pedigree, and I highly doubt that anyone is surprised. If you are genuinely surprised by the result of this match, please stop reading my wwe blog, please, you’re obviously an idiot. Triple H looks horrible now, and Dykstra didn’t get much of a chance.
Post Match Triple H beat down Khali’s interpreter. Khali didn’t do a whole lot initially, but Triple H kept taunting him and in came Khali! I do not know how the WWE is going to get Triple H to beat such a huge guy, and even Undertaker lost to Khali at one point. Triple H hit Khali with a bunch of moves and was trying to hit the pedigree, but it just wasn’t working out all that well. Eventually, Triple H knocked Khali over the top rope and on came Motorhead to play his theme. (Not literally) This post match thing was stupid, and I’m sure diehard Triple H fans ate it up, but this is just cheap to me. Triple H took about a month off and didn’t promote his own match, Khali didn’t do much to garner attention, and now it is being shoved down our throats? Give me a break. The match was stupid, and if Khali doesn’t walk out the champion, I’m going to be upset.
The Big Show defeated Ryan Braddock
The Big Show is still employed? What the heck? He’s laughing and smiling? I thought he quit for a while? I don’t like The Big Show anymore, and I don’t want the big show laughing, smiling or looking at all interested with the fans. He’s not even that huge anymore, he’s been beaten before, he’s been made to look lame, and now he’s being force fed to us? The show hasn’t been relevant in a long time.
9:13 pm and we have a new jobber? Seriously? What is smackdown doing? They are putting in these jobbers, although they have some style, but come on! They just fired like 8 guys, and they hire these chumps? Seriously? The match wasn’t all that great, and why would it be? (to quote Don West) This match was horrible, and really predictable. The Big Show threw Braddock from end to end, then landed a huge right hand, for the three count. This wasn’t even a match, it was just a mauling, Big Show nearly killed this jobber. Why? The Show is lame. I can’t believe this is tonight’s Smackdown. Jobber central, this is stupid. Man, I’m so upset with the presentation on Smackdown right now. I know they didn’t want to hurt their Summerslam participants, but this is the best they could come up with? Seriously? I hated this Smackdown up to this point.
MVP Interview Segment:
MVP is gold on the mic! He pulls another great promo, and looks like he’s really into this whole program with Jeff Hardy. I’m surprised that the WWE is allowing MVP to basically freestyle through these segments, and shining! I haven’t seen this much charisma on the mic in a long time!
Victoria and Vickie Segment:
Victoria is so hot! I wish I could meet her and have a drink or two…or something else. Man, her boobs were just there…I’m sorry…this was weird. Vickie started getting frantic and Victoria rolled her away. Victoria was looking good, as a male, I couldn’t stop looking at her…I’m sorry, but she is a good wrestler and she is looking as good as ever. She must work out huh? I better stop before I get in trouble.
Vickie ends up going to a limo backstage, and right when she is going to get in, Edge shows up! This is lame too. I’m tired of this backstage crap.
Vladamir Kozlov defeated Festus
Finally, Kozlov is going to get some competition. I was waiting for this to happen, and the WWE finally gave Vladamir Kozlov some competition. The bell rang and Festus really brought a lot to Vladamir. This match looked stiff, and I’m not sure if that’s what Kozlov had planned, it almost looked like he was sucker punched in the face, and he then snapped. He was taking some liberties out there for sure, and Festus was hanging in there. After the initial brawl that opened this match up, the match went into “big guy” mode and there was a lot of rest holds and random power moves accomplished. I was rooting for Festus in this one, as I finally saw Kozlov looking weak, and thought for sure it was time to see his streak lose! This match got me hooked towards the end with the near falls and Kozlov looking genuinely upset, his face completely red and frustration written all over it. Festus was in complete control, and I thought for sure Festus had it, but as Festus leaped off his feat, Kozlov timed the head butt perfectly for the win.
This was the best match of the week. Kozlov, even with little fan reaction, made a believer out of me with the perfectly timed head butt and Festus really put a good match together. This match ruled! Give Kozlov more competition, he is intense!
Final Edge and Vickie Segment:
I was half asleep during this one. I’m not really buying all this edge stuff. It was good for a little bit, but now it’s just getting repetitive and tired. The show ended like last week. Edge terrorizing Vickie, which will most likely lead to Vickie orchestrating Edge’s loss this weekend. Apparently I didn’t miss much of Smackdown this week.
WWE Smackdown 8/15/2008 Quick Results:
Jeff Hardy def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin - DQ - United States Championship Match
Natalya & Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool & Maria
The Brian Kendrick def. Scotty Goldman
Triple H def. Kenny Dykstra
Big Show def. Ryan Braddock
Vladimir Kozlov def. Festus
The Kozlov match was well worth it. I loved that match and thought it was Kozlov’s strongest outing. I am glad to see that they are starting to give him more competition. I hope this leads into a stronger push and maybe even some high profile matches with some better competition. He doesn’t need to be great on the mic, he can return a certain element of wrestling prowess to the ring, that has been missing a long time now.
This post was brought to you by the Summerslam Box Set, 20 Discs, all previous Summerslams on dvd in one box set, only $145.99, not half bad eh? Pick it up and see what you've been missing from the Summerslam's past.

Natalya & Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool & Maria

Smackdown Review 8/1/2008 More of The Same BS
Before the match even started, MVP mocked Jeff Hardy. This is lame. I’m tired of these non feuds getting cheap heat by doing psuedo work/shoot promos before matches.
MVP defeated Jimmy Wang Yang
The downward spiral continues for Jimmy Wang Yang, he came out to no entrance music, no announcement. He just shows up in the ring, and for the most part gets beat down. He appears to be the next Funaki, if you ask me. Yang has some skills, but they aren’t being utilized for anything other than jobbing. I guess that’s good, at least Yang keeps his job, but he’s too talented to just lose like this. MVP puts on a clinic of sorts, and while Yang did mount a comeback but it was all for not, MVP squashes Jimmy Wang Yang for no apparent reason, once again making another former Cruiserweight champion nothing more than a talented jobber. Oh well. The post match had Hardy yelling at MVP and the two start fighting, or rather, he walks into a twist of fate and that was that.
Vickie & Chavo Backstage Segment:
They set up the rest of the night of tension, by having Chavo & Vickie show up in the backstage area only to see the mistress of Edge. What is she even doing? She’s not planning a wedding any longer, and if Edge truly is sorry, she wouldn’t be around. This story is lame.
Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin (non title match)
Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin wrestle, in what seems to be a match that I've already seen before. This match was a lot slower than I thought it would be, but it was given a good amount of time, with a commercial break to set off the pacing. I wasn't sure who would go on top for this match up, but it was definitely better than I was thinking. Kennedy should definitely get more of a push, and hopefully he's going to get that push he was promised before he got suspended for drug abuse. Shelton landed some stiff moves, including a horrendous shoulder breaker that looked botched somehow. He totally missed Kennedy's shoulder, and the announce team called it something else, then Jim Ross tried to pull the "innovative" offense card and say that Benjamin was trying to do that. It was a total botched shoulder breaker, there's no two ways about it. That's for sure.
This match had a lot of rest holds, which seemed odd considering that both men have some great top rope offense, and quicker moves. Benjamin really proved to be a mat technician as he worked on the arm for about three quarters of the Match up. Kennedy pulled out the Mic Check, even with the injured shoulder, and dropped Shelton Benjamin in one of the best matches of the week. It was long, it was a real wrestling match, and if WWE could continue to have matches like this, we could see a great thing. However, to deliver the mic check, Kennedy forgot about his shoulder being hurt, but whatever. I'll give it to Kennedy, he pulled off a great match, and something that the WWE needs to do more often; wrestle.
Hawkins & Ryder Backstage Segment:
Chavo walks in on the tag team champs and asks them about tonights special guest on the cutting edge. I was bored, and felt that this was dumb, especially since no one really cares about the cutting edge. They cut to commercial, a good idea, if you ask me.
The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel defeated Stevie Richards
Out of all the old ECW guys, Stevie Richards is getting a lot more of a push than them all. He somehow moved out of the new ecw show, and is somehow the proving ground for these new characters, and I don't mind. However, I miss Big Stevie Cool. I miss him and Raven in a double dog collar tables match with the Pitbulls. Stevie Richards looks like crap now, and he's just not the same dude. He's just a jobber, but at least he's not on ECW jobbing to Mark Henry each week like Tommy Dreamer. It's also nice to see that wwe hasn't fired Stevie Richards yet, but he'll eventually be phased out...all older ECW talent gets phased out sooner than later. There was no way Richards was going to win, and loses clean to a smaller, more athletic Brian Kendrick. I don't like his new gimmick, but whatever. At least we see the WWE moving forward with this guys new gimmick. Now if only they can do the same for Paul London, I might be in favor of splitting up more tag teams for the sake of singles wrestling. However, like Koslov, Kendrick hasn't really been tested yet. Sure Stevie Richards got a lot of clean offense in, but there was still no chance in hell that he was going to go over on this match.
Post match; Ezekiel hoisted Stevie Richards on his shoulder and pulled off a great move! The torture rack has come back to wrestling and Ezekiel pulls it off! He looked great. This might be looking good, and I expect a turn for him down the road.
The Great Khali defeated Jeff Hardy
I was rooting for Hardy, I admit it, however Hardy didn't stand a chance against The Great Khali. Hardy got beat down for the whole match and it looked painful. I know wrestling is fake, but Khali is so huge, and he just tears up Hardy. I'm looking forward to see how Triple H handles Khali. MVP interfered in this one, and Khali took advantage, nearly crippling Jeff Hardy with his huge arms. Hardy did his final set up, but still couldn't capitalize, MVP does a great job of assisting Khali for the win. I never thought Hardy could actually win. Khali crushes his head, and wins the match.
Maria defeated Victoria
Victoria is awesome, she's my favorite diva and I've always thought she was hot. However, Maria sucks. No really, she's not that great of a wrestler, and this match was carried by Victoria. It was boring to me somehow. Once again, the Knockouts are a trillion times better.
Big Show defeated Domino
A throwaway match really. Not much to say here. Domino loses this one, and Big Show continues his monstrous streak as a big man.
The Cutting Edge Segment:
Edge is good on the mic, I give him that. Getting Foley involved though? That seemed pointless to me, Foley isn't exactly in great shape any longer. I mean, not that he was ever in great shape before, but having him beat down Foley just seems dumb to me right now. Hasn't Edge already proved that he can defeat Foley? Oh well, the ending for Smackdown was a little lackkluster for me, and while there were a few good matches, the overall show wasn't all that good.

This show was alright. It was not the best one so far, but it did have some matches that were way longer than other matches in the WWE recently. I liked the length, however there was a few things missing in this show, and it just felt a little scarce.
The R Truth promo's really weren't all that bad. I hope they give him some good competition, rather than just jobbing through some matches only to get buried in mid card hell.
I'm not sure that Smackdown is looking all that well yet, but there is still time to make it worthwhile. I am not too thrilled about anything besides Khali and Triple H for the first time.
Jim Ross did slip up on commentary, saying that Khali was going to be the next champion. Is this going to be true? Did Jim Ross really tell the future? Or was it just a commentary slip up?
MVP defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

WWE Smackdown Review 7/25/08 Post Wedding Mayhem
To start off the show we get a recap of last week’s Smackdown ending, and you know what? It’s a lot better condensed.
In Ring Segment 1:
Jeff Hardy enters the VIP Lounge and he’s great on the mic. He says that he’s the odds on favorite to win the battle royal to face Triple H.
Jeff Hardy says he hasn’t seen MVP win a match since he had the U.S Championship.
MVP talks smack about Jeff Hardy’s WWE Magazine cover. MVP starts talking bad about Jeff Hardy, reminding him of his suspension and his house that burned down. Jeff tries to keep up, but MVP is just too good and keeps firing away as the HEEL.
Hardy then looks fed up, and here we go!
Hardy pushes MVP and the fans start to turn, but quickly go to a Hardy chant, MVP quickly gets out of the ring, and looks upset. He walks away, leaving the ring to Jeff Hardy.
I think that MVP looked great in the ring, and Hardy looked genuinely pissed that he was out spoken by MVP, which is a great thing. They generated a lot of heat in a matter of moments, and while I am not a big fan of in ring segments, I did enjoy MVP pushing buttons and it reminded me a lot of what Santino can do on the mic.
Shelton Benjamin defeated Jimmy Wang Yang
As soon as the music hit, I knew this was going to be a throw away match. Yang hasn’t gotten a decent shake in a long time, and Benjamin has just won the title. Benjamin goes relatively unharmed in this glorified squash match. Benjamin has improved a lot, in what seems like overnight, and he totally drops Yang with his finisher The Pay Dirt for the win. Yang never had a chance.
Backstage Segment 1:
The Edgekins are backstage with Edge. Edge apologizes for last week. The Edgekins says that they don’t need an explanation, and then they run off.
Festus defeated Curt Hawkins
This was a stupid squash match and served no purpose. Festus beat Hawkins fast, and then after the bell, gets beatdown for no apparent reason. Jesse gets dumped out, and this is how we are going to build to Festus and Jesse winning the tag titles. The crowd was not into the ending, what a load of crap. I hate when WWE squashes guys like this for no apparent reason.
Backstage Segment 2:
Edge is talking to his wedding planner backstage, when Bam shows up to ease drop.
Vladimir Koslov defeated Stevie Richards
As soon as I saw Stevie Richards, I knew there was going to be a squash coming up. Koslov comes in there and Foley is correct, Koslov is NOT tested in the ring and much like Matt Morgan on TNA he’s just squashing guys for no particular reason. He’s NOT Goldberg, so I don’t know why they keep pushing his streak.
Richards throws in more moves than most, but still manages to lose this one, as is standard when building up a monster heel.
Koslov squashes Richards in a no surprise match up, and this wrestling fan is getting tired of this stupid continuation. Koslov takes a lot of punishment, I give it that, but eventually just floors Richards with a head butt. One of the worst moves in WWE history.
The Great Khali defeated Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, and MVP
The last three participants made this really interesting for me. Jeff Hardy, Khali and Big Show were left. Hardy got a major push cause he pushed out Big Show somehow, and he had to try and wrestle Khali, but it looked grim for a minute there. Hardy kept fighting off Khali, but Khali kept pushing his weight around. Khali nearly crushed Hardy with a HUGE chop to the head, and then threw him out. Khali looked genuinely annoyed for some reason, and he looked somewhat stunned by Hardy’s offense. I can’t believe how this all turned out.

Khali will face Triple H for the world title at Summerslam. Hardy put on a great show, everyone did really, and the last two didn’t really make sense to me, but we’re going to get Triple H vs. Khali, that’s going to be great! Remember when Big Show was The Giant in WCW? He rolled through the main event talent like crazy ppv after ppv, no one could beat him, well maybe WWE is taking a cue from WCW of old. Maybe Khali will be unstoppable, until the Undertaker comes back to defeat him in a casket match or something.
Post Match:
Triple H comes to ringside, and stares up the Great Khali. Triple H looks ridiculously small compared the giant Khali. Nothing happens here, as they just stare each other into leaving.
R-Truh (K QWIK, Ron The Truth Killings) promo is shown. He’s looking good, that’s for sure.
Michelle McCool defeated Maryese
McCool somehow pulled of this victory, but it was a boring match. Maryese isn’t yet ready to go for a full match, and this one just seemed forced to me. The match wasn’t too long, and really didn’t have a whole lot of high spots. The ending came with some sort of leg lock looking thing, although it isolated the heel of some kind. I don’t know, this match sucked.
Backstage Segment 3:
Vickie Guerrero finally arrives, and Bam shows up. Bam tries to tell Chavo what Edge was up to earlier, but he is interrupted, and we get to commercial.
Backstage Segment 4:
Edge says he’s going to apologize, Bam runs to go tell Vickie.
Pre-Match
Kendrick talks on the mic, J.R says that Kendrick is like the late Brian Pillman…I don’t know about all that.
Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel defeated Shannon Moore
Everytime I see Shannon Moore, I can’t help but wonder how in the world he manages to stay on the payroll. Not so much cause he sucks, but because I could have sworn he was on ECW and/or TNA in recent memory. Oh well. Moore, basically got squashed by Kendrick, and while I think Shannon Moore is good, the WWE didn’t give him a chance to win this match up. Kendrick is good, but not great yet, he needs a challenge to prove himself. This was a standard cruiserweight match up, nothing too crazy, some missed spots here and there, but overall a standard affair with no crowd participation. Brian Kendrick wins with his move, but I’m not sure what it’s called…oh well. It’s sliced bread number 2 no? J.R said that it’s now something else, but I wasn’t paying too much attention.
Backstage Segment 5:
Vickie and Chavo are talking backstage, when Bam interrupts. Bam mixes up Edge’s message and says that Edge will be in the ring to apologize or something. Vickie shakes her head no, and we fade to commercial.
Final In Ring Segment:
Edge is out in the ring alone, ready to call out Vickie Guerrero. The fans boo the crap out of him. I'm surprised that they don't say more "what?". Undertaker chants try to start up, but the crowd quiets down a little. He then asks for Vickie to come out.
Vickie comes out to ring side. The boo's start pouring in as Edge and her are in the ring. This is ridiculous if you ask me.
Edge tries to apologize. He blames the wedding planner for the mistakes, and he claims that the video didn't show that he was taken advantage of.

Vickie reinstates the Undertaker, and announces a Hell in the Cell match up for Summerslam with Undertaker and Edge! The show fades with Edge looking really scared of the Undertaker.
This edition of Smackdown was somewhat upsetting at the end. Seriously, why did the WWE go with this story line as the main event? I was really upset that they didn't have solid wrestling at the end. Wasn't the WWE going to plan less stunts and drama? Oh wait...less wrestling and more drama equals a PG rating? I don't know. The end of Smackdown really made this show sink, regardless of that great match up early on in the show.
The tag division looks weak again, but I'm sure they are setting up something for later. I can't stand the Festus in ring scenarios, but I guess I have to just deal with them.
Koslov's streak is lame.
MVP on the mic was great, and only Santino can probably match his wits.
I thought for sure Hardy was going to get a major push, but instead Khali was great, and I want to see that match up at Summerslam. I don't know if Triple H can pull off a clean win over Khali. I'm not sure what's going to go down, but it's going to set up something great, I'm sure.
Shelton Benjamin is looking great. I am glad to see that he's getting a push, even if it is minor.
Squashing the cruiserweights on WWE television is stupid to me. I really wish that they would bring back the cruiserweight title and that they would really allow the smaller guys to get a chance. WCW did so great back in the day, TNA is allowing more small guys to get a shot, and overall WWE could definitely do something great. However, it's not happening anytime soon, as the WWE continues to make bus loads of cash on the existing product. Why change things up if you're making so much money right?

The reinstatement of the Undertaker on Smackdown was a bit odd to me. I kept reading that HHH didn't like Undertaker and they couldn't be on the same show because of their past dealings. I do recall Undertaker beating Triple H at Wrestlemana X7. The Undertaker will most likely be dominant until it sets up the inevitable Triple H vs. Undertaker match where Undertaker finally loses. Edge and Undertaker at Summerslam is going to be interesting, and Hell in the Cell? All I know is that someone better fall off the top of that cage, otherwise it's going to be lackluster. Foley made that match famous, and even Shawn Michaels took a nice fall.
The divas belt looks cheesy, and the divas are not improving. Give me the KNOCKOUTS any day in comparison to the stupid looking, cookie cutter divas.
This week Smackdown was stronger than last week, but it's not that great. Tna, to me, was better, and ECW is looking stronger than all the shows.
