WWE NXT 7/6/10 Results and Review

WWE NXT 7/6/10 Results

Michael McGillicutty defeated Percy Watson
The Miz defeated Kaval
Dashing Cody Rhodes & Husky Harris defeated Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon

WWE NXT 7/6/10 Review

A recap was shown of the NXT season 2 first cut from last week. I haven't paid a whole lot of attentino to these guys, but so far there are only a few guys that I'm impressed with. Kaval should win, Percy looks funny, the rest? I don't know, I don't really care that much. Do you?

Matt Stryker called out the WWE Pro's.

The pros took a few moments to talk about their rookies and what not. Well, some of them anyways...I'm already bored. The NXT rookies came out. Riley looks classic, with his Letterman jacket.

The NXT announcer sucks now, just sayin.

Michael McGillicutty defeated Percy Watson

Michael McGullicutty sucks. His look is terrible. Seriously, what a bland, mayonaise looking son of a...nevermind. Watson looks interesting, his fake glasses are good, but his botched dropkick didn't impress me. Although, he took it in stride, and moved forward. MVP yelling at his rookie was interesting, meanwhile Kofi just clapping and mourning the Ghana World Cup loss was a nice contrast. I took a sip of my coffee and McGillicutty won, so that was that.

The Mizv defeated Kaval

Kaval is already a veteran, in my view, and facing The Miz proved that he can go, despite his small stature. Remember when Daniel Bryan beat up the Miz and spit on John cena? Could Kaval be that guy for season 2? He's got the size, and the hot chicks yelling at him. I'd like to be part of Laycool, except for when the Undertaker beats me up for looking at McCool, just sayin. Kaval at one point went for a sunset flip and turned into a face stomp! I loved it, and thought Miz was on his way to losing. Kaval The Miz won, but man, Kaval put on one heck of a fight, this was not a squash, I loved it. Best match of NXT season 1 and season 2.

Eli Cottonwood sucks, yeah, I said it.

John Cena killed Black John Cena. Hahah....he's dead.

Oh and if Cena wins on Monday, I riot!

Husky Harris is impressive, I admit that, but can he win this thing? I don't know. What do I know? He reminds me of a young, very young, Dusty Rhodes.

On a sidenote, Dashing Cody Rhodes looks like this idiot I went to school with. At the time all the girls in my class were all over him and thought he was so hot. I didn't think so, but whatever, he looks like Cody Rhodes.....so maybe he is dashing? I don't know.

Dashing Cody Rhodes & Husky Harris defeated Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon

Lucky Cannon reminds me of Chris Cannon (pornstar), not that I watch a lot of it, but the name, just the name. Then again, he also reminds me of professional skateboard Colt Cannon. Lucky looks like a young Paul Roma, in his style. Harris is fast, wow, I can't believe how fast he can move in the ring. Mark Henry nearly took Husky's head off with a huge clubbing clothesline. Lucky is fast too, and this match surprised me. The two rookies are far more advanced than ½ the guys in the Nexus, whichi s a positive for the WWE. Maybe Nexus will fight NXT season 2 guys? The CrossRhodes was hit and Lucky Cannon was out cold.

That was that. NXT actually had a lot of wrestling in it, I for one was surprised at how good the rookies are. I'm impressed with them, far more than anyone on the Nexus right now.

What did you think? Leave me a comment, and I'll make sure to reply in my new "this week in wwe comments" section after the Smackdown review. Just keep the comments rolling, and if we get this thing moving, maybe I'll start giving away dvd's, posters, t-shirts and much more.

Ecw 9/23/08 Results and Review

ECW came through once again on Sci Fi with no nonsense wrestling at its finest. Jim Ross was on commentary, and they were coming from Ohio State University! Todd Grisham was NOT on the show!

The Miz and Morrison opened the show and started to whine about how the new Superstars are messing them up. Teddy Long showed up and said what’s up, and told the former champs that the young bucks will continue to astonish and come through ECW. This prompted Ricky Ortiz came out and I swear he looks like the guy from Final Fight, anyone else feel that way?

Ricky Ortiz

Finlay defeated Bam Neely

If anyone thought that Bam Neely was going to win this one than you’re an idiot. Seriously, this match was somewhat boring. It was a standard squash match and Finlay once again gets an easy night in the WWE by defeating the most useless body guard of all time. I hope Bam gets fired soon.

Maryse defeated Michelle McCool

Word on the street is that Michelle McCool is going out with the Undertaker, and some might even say that’s why she’s the diva’s champion, but that’s neither here nor there. McCool is putting up some good matches, even though I don’t know if she’s all that great. Maryse is NOT that good, and actually looks like a fish out of water out there. There are moments in this match where Maryse is busy adjusting her outfit, rather than being the aggressor. There are even moments where Stryker and Ross talk about how Maryse isn’t capitalizing on her opportunities. Just after they said that, Maryse dropped McCool with a spike DDT and McCool loses this match after getting thrown off the top rope and the spike DDT. Maryse wins? Yep.

Mike Knox defeated Chase Stevens

Knox defeated Stevens easily. The most impressive part of this match up was that Knox was actually over with the crowd. The crowd even counted the one, two, three in this match. Jim Ross was basically selling Knox to the home audience waxing over how great he is as if Mike Knox was the second coming of HHH. Post Match Jack Swagger came out and dropped Stevens only to prompt Knox to come back to ringside, distracting Tommy Dreamer whom ran down for the save, and of course Jack Swagger drops Tommy Dreamer for his troubles. Swagger then is billed as an All American Wrestling machine, and the announce team really try to sell this guy to me. I don’t buy it.

The Miz and John Morrison wrestled to a No Contest

The Miz and John Morrison put on a good match, and I admit The Miz is the most improved wrestler that I've seen in a long time. I recall when he first showed up in WWE I was first to call him a Reality Show retard, but this guy is good now. NOt great, but good enough to be out there with Morrison and put on an entertaining match up. Towards the end of this match, I was really starting to get into it, and I thought it was great. I actually started to appreciate the effort that these two were putting into the match, and so did the live crowd who was starting to come alive towards the closing of this match up. The two butted heads while trying to do a top rope maneuver and both were counted down and both lost. Post match, Ricky Ortiz came out and did the BIG O on both guys then ran out of the ring and gave his rally towel to a pretty lady. (That's questionable)

Once Again Tommy Dreamer Should Quit

Last Night ECW went live on Sci-Fi and I was hoping for a good one. The overall quality has improved for the show, and I'm genuinely excited about Big Vis getting into the fray with the Boogeyman. You can't scare Big Vis, and well...I'm scared of the guy with some insane tattoo's. They should cover him up again though.

Striker is funny.

In regards to The Main even though, I am still saying that Tommy Dreamer should quit while he's ahead. Seriously, the guy is not as good as he used to be, and even in the promo video for him it's all shots of him from the old ECW not the new.

Case in point, the finish of the match. Think about it: A drop toe hold onto a chair! Raven did that to Tommy so much back in the day, and he would kick out and seek revenge! Here he just folds into a worthless piece of crap. He totally jobbed for an ailing Nitro.

Oh and don't get me started on the job Big Stevie Cool did for Punk.

Ecw was upsetting, but quality ratio has gone up this time.

Boogeyman & Piper The Worms Are Here

Last night on ECW we were treated to a great segment featuring Rowdy Roddy Piper! The great mic worker was out and about until spoiled by one Matt Stryker. He of course was immediately discharged by an interuption by the Boogeyman!

Matt Stryker might want to consider staying in school!

This should build another Boogeyman vs. Stryker match up for later purposes. Overall, this was a great little piece, and a good break up from the action.

I know, I'm getting soft. But in light of current events, maybe it's about time.
