WCW Bash At The Beach 97 Results and Review

We go back to 1997 to one of the premier pay per view events from WCW. This was in Daytona Beach, Florida and the audience was about 8,000 strong. I primarily wanted to watch and review this one because it had the Kevin Sullivan retirement match, and that retirement would send WCW into a tailspin, because he would be part of the booking committee of WCW. It was a few years later that Sullivan would get the full booking position and would cause Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit to quit WCW completely and jump to WWE. However, this match had a LOT of great matches, and if you have the network watch it or buy the DVD version and see it unedited.

First we’ll go into the match review and then the results completely in a list.

Mortis and Wrath defeated Glacier and Ernest Miller

Not a bad opener, a bit short, but not bad overall. Mortis was the stand out here. Miller and Glacier were ok, but it was Mortis that stood out to me. You may remember that Mortis is just Kanyon with a mask on. He really was innovative and fluid in the ring during this one. Mortis and Wrath won this match up, and it was nice to see it, the crowd wasn’t into it as much though.

Chris Jericho defeated Ultimate Dragon

Jericho was the cruiser weight champion in this match up. This match was definitely a great one. Ultimate Dragon and Jericho were wrestling like a chess match. Every move was deliberate, every element was well timed and fluid. You will be surprised how great these two work together, and the move set put into place. Jericho was impressive, but it was Ultimate Dragon’s moonsault and reversals that will have you completely in awe. Why his WWE run didn’t go over so well is beyond me.

The Steiner Brothers defeated The Great Muta and Masahiro Chono

This was a hard hitting match. Chono and Muta are great to a botchy Steiner Brothers team. There were moments where the Steiners no sold the Japanese offense, which was stupid to me. Otherwise, this was a good match because of Chono and Muta putting on a showcase. Look for Muta’s huricanrana off the top rope on Scott Steiner, and Rick Steiner’s bulldog to make an appearance.

Juventud Guerrera, Hector Garza, and LIzmark Jr. defeated La Parka, Psychosis, and Villano IV

This took on a slow start, but it was the process of going through the spots that really made this one incredible. Guerrera was on point, Garza’s corkscrew plancha, and Lizmark’s athleticism were impressive. La Parka and Psychosis put on some great moments too. Villano switched with his partner Number 5 and that was interesting. Overall, this was a great lucha match, and no one botched, which made this one even more impressive. The crowd was not into this one, but that’s ok, I guess.

Chris Benoit defeated The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan

This was a retirement match for Sullivan. This match was the main reason why I wanted to watch this event. Benoit and Sullivan put on a brawl, a serious brawl that featured Jacqueline, and Jimmy Hart getting into the mix. Benoit was essentially fighting 3 different people here. Sullivan and Benoit even had some stiff shots, not usually seen in pro wrestling. Eventually, Jacqueline turned on Sullivan and Benoit got the pin. Sullivan of course would eventually drive Benoit and others to the WWE as he became full booking agent at WCW. But this match is good, well worth checking out. It’s not as good as their match at The Great American Bash 1996, but it’s certainly one of the best of their set.

Jeff Jarrett defeated Steve “Mongo” McMichael

This was for the US Title, and the crowd was so alive it was funny. The Jarrett Sucks chant was about as loud as any crowd you’ll ever hear in your life. Jeff Jarrett really got heat in this match. Mongo was good, the hard hitting style of his offense meshed well with Jarrett’s scared champion stick. However, it was Debra that really made this one, as she got involved and cost McMichael the match. A short one, but the crowd was way into it, so it was fun to watch.

Scott Hall and Randy Savage defeated Diamond Dallas Page and Curt Hennig

This was supposed to be a mystery partner match up for DDP. You may not know this, but DDP and Savage were going through a feud, and after Savage hurt page’s rib cage, DDP got his revenge dressed as La Parka on Nitro. Well, the secret partner was Curt Hennig, and that went well until a misunderstanding led Curt to walk out on his partner. DDP took a beating, a serious beating that was definitely something to see. Savage broke Page in half with the elbow after an Outsider’s edge, and that was that. If you want to see some hard hitting pro wrestling, this match has it for you, wow.

Roddy Piper defeated Ric Flair

This was entertaining, but you may have already seen this match over and over again. Flair is always entertaining to watch. Piper and the crowd were way into this one, and while it was mostly a brawl, it did have good action for 13 minutes’ worth of wrestling. It’s this type of wrestling that I sometimes miss from today’s landscape. If you like Piper and Flair, this is definitely a stand out match for the night.

Lex Luger and The Giant defeated Hollywood Hogan and Dennis Rodman

This was not a technical masterpiece at all. However, when you watch pro wrestling, you have to sometimes gauge things by crowd reaction. In this case, the crowd was going absolutely nuts for this one. The reason being, the psychology of the match. Rodman was teaming with Hogan, and he didn’t start the match. However, when he finally made his appearance, the timing and the suspense hit an all new level. Not only that, the expectations were that he didn’t know how to wrestle at all. When he first hip tosses Luger the crowd goes absolutely ballistic, and the announce team sells it so well, that you have nothing but respect for the guy. Now, when he does a shoulder block and Luger goes down rolling into the corner, things go insane again. Of course, he gets his, but this is the kind of reaction that WWE can’t seem to find in 2015, and why this is such a stellar match, even though it’s not a technical masterpiece. At the end, the Fake Sting (NWO) shows up, and hits The Giant with a baseball bat, the ref is bumped, and out comes Nick Patrick to get the submission off of Hogan in a torture rack. By the time the match is over, the trash from the crowd fills the ring, and the night is done. The crowd reaction makes this one, and that’s why you have to see it. Get the unedited version on vhs, it’s way better.

The Wrestlemania 27 Guest Host Is

stingwwe

There are millions of internet fans talking right now about who the Wrestlemania 27 guest host will be, and you know what the most likely scenario is?

Neither do I.

But I have a few guesses, and so do you. Consider these among some of the top names getting considered by internet WWE fans like me and yourself:

Justin Bieber - What the heck? Would WWE really sink money into this guy? I guess he's a mega celebrity and I for one have seen him show up on a lot of television shows including SNL, The Daily Show, and much more. News outlets are even plugging his new movie, he's an icon already, and I just saw that he's in good with Will Smith to star in a new movie with his kids.

Shawn Michaels - The Heartbreak Kid could be the guy, as he's being touted as the main guy in the Hall of Fame this year, and why wouldn't the WWE use him for more? I for one would not consider him a draw for Wrestlemania, and I don't care if he's in the Hall of Fame or not. Yeah, I said it. He might be the man, but he retired, I don't need to see him on ppv.

Stone Cold Steve Austin - Could the Rattlesnake come out and stun the viper? I would love to see that, in fact, I'd pay good money to see Stone Cold bury everyone like Triple H used to. Will he come back as guest host? Why not? I'd like it.

Rowdy Roddy Piper - I remember when Wrestlemania had Piper's Pit and how awesome it was in ring. Could he come back to host? Yes! He's really good on the mic and it could work to hear him talk his way through a Wrestlemania.

Kevin Nash - Could Diesel be back as a guest host? Maybe. I wouldn't mind seeing him, but I don't think he possesses enough mic skills for that type of role. I just don't think it is going to happen.

Sting - Sting? Really? He's not an amazing mic worker, but I guess as the host, he could be on commentary and chime in every now and again, but this is not the role I'd like to see him in. Everyone wants to see him against Undertaker.

The Macho Man Randy Savage - I'd love to See the Macho Man as the hype man at Mania, but I doubt that the new generation of fans are really going to care, and I highly doubt that the WWE would spend money to have Randy Savage cut promos and talk his way through mania.

Jim Ross - Not only would I love to see JR come back to Wrestlemania, I'd love to see him as guest host and announcer! Why not? Let's get a ppv draw like that, and put Cole in a match with lawler, freeing up the booth for Jim Ross and Booker T.

The biggest name going around and the one that seems to be it is:

THE ROCK

That's right, the most electrifying man in Sports Entertainment is being touted as the next guest host, and I'm going to throw my pick into the hat. Yes, I think it's going to be the Rock, and I think he's going to do a lot of talking. I'd love to see him as a guest referee too, and cost someone the title with the Rock Bottom.

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/15/10 Results and Review

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/15/10 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry
Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defeated The Hart Dynasty
Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Brooklyn Brawler
John Cena defeated Alex Riley
Kozlov and Santino defeated The Usos w/ Jimmy Snuka
Kofi Kingston defeated David Otunga
Wade Barrett defeated R Truth
Alberto Del Rio defeated Sgt. Slaughter
Mae Young defeated Laycool in a falls count anywhere match
Daniel Bryan defeated Jack Swagger

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/15/10 Review

The night was supposed to be a special 3 hour "Old School" broadcast. It had a cool opening, and everything in the arena looked "old school", which is quite cool. I was actually a bit excited for this night of wrestling.

Mean Gene Okerlund was introduced and he was on the "interview" stand.

Cowboy Bob Orton was introduced and interviewed...not half bad. They set up a match, but I was distracted.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry

This match wasn't half bad, Mark Henry put on a good match because he was being carried by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler won after implementing his sleeper on Henry.

Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defeated The Hart Dynasty

DH Smith was the main man in this match, getting the better of Nexus at first, but after the Nexus came back for their second wind, Tyson Kidd turned on Smith and that was that. DH Smith got kicked in the face and that was that.

Orton said he was going to punt Cena tonight.

THE FINK was the next in ring announcer! FINKEL's BACK!

The Brooklyn Brawler & Harvey Wippleman came out next. He issued an open challenge to anyone in the "new school".

Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Brooklyn Brawler

Brawler lost a squash, Jackson wins.

John Cena defeated Alex Riley

Alex Riley took the place of The Miz in a match against cena. I got distracted by The Simpsons "Treasure Trove" #2 and missed the finish, but I'm sure it was the five moves of doom and a win for Cena. Alex Riley did ok, but he got buried, as is the custom for Cena. Miz came into the ring...and they brawled after the match

Post match, Cena and Orton started fighting and out came the ref's to try and stop them. This is a sure sign of a Heel turn, if you ask me. The same thing happened in 1997 weeks before Summerslam, where Shawn Michaels turned heel.

It was announced that Orton and Cena would be on Piper's Pit later tonight.

The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff were in the ring, and Fink asked the crowd to rise for national anthem.

The singing prompted Kozlov and Santino to show up. I will say it again, the SANTINO shirt is awesome! More on that later.

Kozlov and Volkoff tried to sing the Russian national anthem as a duet, but Santino changed up the song. He introduced none other than SLICK! The reverend SLICK! The segment was stopped by THe Uso brothers. The next match would be a #1 contenders match, with none other than JIMMY SUPERFLY SNUKA!

Kozlov and Santino defeated The Usos w/ Jimmy Snuka

This match was ok at best. Kozlov did a lot of the heavy lifting, and Santino was the one that got the pinfall after he hit the Cobra. I didn't hate the match, and Santino has been moving forward, that is until out came Sheamus.

Post match, Sheamus hit the bro kick on the Usos and Kozlov, but was then taken out by John Morrison.

I like the Nexus zip up hoodie, I might have to pick one up.

I was under the impression that R Truth was going to get fed to Otunga, but instead here comes KOFI KINGSTON! I guess that's what happens when I take bathroom breaks during Raw.

Kofi Kingston defeated David Otunga

This match was going good for David Otunga and mid-match, out came George "The Animal" Steele and he at the turnbuckle. Then Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise after utilizing the exposed ring post, and won the match. Not a great match, but everyone should enjoy seeing Otunga on the losing end of things.

The Million Dollar Belt was returned to The original Million Dollar Man and then was given to Ted Dibiase Jr backstage...but Jr said to keep it. Lots of jabs between Cody Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes, IRS and Kelly Kelly...yep. OH and TATANKA came out too! Oh and Hacksaw too! They had a backstage party and then..RON SIMMONS....DAMN!

Wade Barrett defeated R Truth

This was an easy match, Wade won without much troubles. Sure, Truth didn't get buried or squashed, but it was just the same to me.

Alberto Del Rio was introduced by Tito Santana and he was escorted out by CHAVO CLASSIC.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Sgt. Slaughter

Slaughter slapped on the Cobra Clutch and that got a huge pop, and I admit, I was marking out huge for that. Del Rio of course, would not get squashed by Sgt. Slaughter, but the match was a nice touch of old schoo meets new school. The Cobra Clutch got slapped on mid match again and that prompted some nice cheers, but it was not meant to be as Del Rio swewed up this match up with a kick to the back of the head.

Mae Young defeated Laycool in a falls count anywhere match

Laycool got on the mic and made fun of Mae Young, but that prompted Mae Young to ask for a match. The match happened and the divas beat up Laycool and let Mae Young get some nice hits in! MAE YOUNG with the help from the divas beat up Laycool!

JIM ROSS was called in for commentary during the next match up! YES! JIM THE MAN ROSS! THAT'S RIGHT! JIM ROSS IS BACK ON COMMENTARY AT LEAST FOR ONE MATCH! YES! JR GOOD OL JR! YES YES YES! JIM FREAKIN ROSS! HE'S BACK!

Michael Cole heeled it up...I hate Michael Cole he sucks I hate him...ugh. I feel like a teenager.

Daniel Bryan defeated Jack Swagger

Match of the year candidate on paper, that's right folks, I marked out huge when Jack The All American, American, American, American, American Swagger.

Just hearing JR call this match, made the match that much better and it was definitely some of the best wrestling I've seen in a long time from WWE. Swagger shut down Bryan's fast paced offense, and Bryan just kept trying to get shots in. The match spilled out to the ring, and this was definitely feeling old school. Swagger took a stiff shot to the face with a missile dropkick from Bryan. I kid you not, Bryan's Missile Dropkick nearly took Swagger's head off, and it was awesome. Cole kept jumpin in and sucked it up, I hated it. Swagger couldn't put away Bryan, and kept trying to fight, but it wasn't helping. Bryan Daniel won with a HUGE kick to the head, knocking out Swagger cold!

Post match, Ted Dibiase Jr hit Dream Street on Daniel Bryan. Now Daniel Bryan has a new challenger to his United States title! This feud has legs, and if the WWE continues to book things like this, the belts will once again mean something, and that's the great thing to the feud's potential.

I swear, Michael Cole needs to get fired. I'd rather have Tony Shciavone come back, I'd rather have TAZ and Mike Tenay than MICHAEL COLE, cause he sucks. UGH! Michael Cole is the worst announcer ever.

Hot Rod Rowdy Roddy Piper came out and started Piper's Pit, and man, no one can talk like the Hot Rod. I absolutely love Hot Rod, he's the man. His guests of course were John Cena and Randy Orton.

Wade Barrett came out and got on the mic before Orton ever came out, and Cena was told that he'd get fired if Barrett didn't win. Barrett forced Cena to wear the Nexus t-shirt!!!

Orton eventually made his way down to the ring, but it was an afterthought. Orton threatened John Cena but instead of fighting Cena, he fought Wade Barrett! Cena got in front of Wade Barrett before Orton could hit the RKO! Then Cena got hit with a HUGE RKO!

Cena was about to get punted but Orton hit the Attitude Adjustment on ORTON!

CAN CENA TURN HEEL! The last shot of the show was Barrett and Cena confident over a fallen Randy Orton...but alas, Barrett got an AA for his troubles and Cena threw his Nexus shirt at Barrett!

I'm not sure what the WWE has planned, and that's the good thing here. I'm actually intrigued about the possibilities that will arise this weekend! OH MAN! OH MAN!

I'm excited for once about WWE PPV and you should be too. Best Raw ever? I don't know, but it was dang good!

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/16/09 Results and Review Piper in NYC

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/16/09 Results

The Miz defeated MVP to retain the U.S Title
Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero
Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne
Melina defeated Alicia Fox in a lumberjill (jack) match
Randy Orton vs Hot Rod Roddy Piper (no contest)
John Cena & The Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho & Big Show and Dx

WWE Monday Night Raw 11/16/09 Review

Roddy Piper showed up backstage with Luiz Guzman and the Iron Shiek and it was hilarious. I liked it. Bobby Flay was suppose to come out, but instead we got the Iron Shiek instead of the Iron Chef! Hahah, I laughed.

The Miz came out and cut a great heel promo.

The Miz defeated MVP

MVP gets a title shot? What the hell? We must be in an alternate universe….what the hell? MVP’s arms are exposed? I’m dreaming right?

The Miz started this match off fast and MVP had to come back from it. MVP had this thing sewed up at times, but Miz was proving that he’s no paper champion. I’m impressed with how much The Miz has improved and love how MVP was also getting some good offense in, overall an alright match up, given it’s the first match of the night. The Playmaker looked to be inevitable, but was reversed into a big boot from MVP and this thing was going all MVP. The Skull Crushhing Finale was hit out of nowhere, and this thing was in the records book. A somewhat impressive win for The Miz, and you know what? He’s improved a lot more than I’d have given Miz credit for.

Santino defeated Chavo Guerrero

Santino came out with four New York Team jerseys on!

Chavo started this match immediately with the three amigos, and then followed that up with an attempt for the Frog Splash, but it was too far away, so he switched sides. Santino was smart enough to roll away from the corners, forcing Chavo to switch sides again, and this was a nice comedy routine.

Hornswoggle came out in DX gear and distracted Chavo, Santino rolled him up and Santino won a match, in a NY Yankees Jersey! Chavo once again gets embarrassed!

Immediately after the match, out came none other than DX to an extreme ovation. EXXXXTREME! Hahah, I’m in good spirits…despite a long night of no sleep.

DX cut a promo about how they are a unit and what not, then they dealt with Hornswoggle. It was lame. They called out the little guy and promised that he would be a part of DX only to pedigree him into oblivion! That was stupid….man, that’s messed up son.

Melina defeated Alicia Fox in a lumberjill (jack) match

Alicia Fox sucks. This match was too fast, and didn’t develop into much of anything. In fact, this match was over before I could even look up…it was dumb.

The post match was great though, all the Divas jumped in and they were fighting back and forth. Of course Team Mickie James stood in ring together, united, but it was Judah (30 Rock) who got in good with some dancing and what not.

Roddy Piper came out to the ring and ran his mouth, made some jokes, and then dropped what seemed like a bad idea. He called out Vince McMahon and challenged him to a match!

Sheamus came out, challenged anyone to come out and defeat him (shades of Honky Tonk Man) and instead beat up the ring announcer, then attacked King Jerry Lawler. All in all, a stupid way to get Sheamus over, I don’t care about him, and I don’t think anyone should. Unless King gets revenge.

Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne

We get this match, yet again, and this time Swagger was in control throughout the whole match. He was like a man possessed, he was not about to be embarrassed again, and he proved it. He treated Evan Bourne like a jobber, and he literally annihilated Bourne…Bourne never had a chance…ouch.

Randy Orton vs Hot Rod Roddy Piper (no contest)

Randy Orton came out instead of McMahon and fought Piper. Orton basically killed Piper, with ease, and that’s unfortunate. Kofi Kington ran down for the save and started to take out Randy Orton, with Piper there coaching Kingston! The fight spilled out to the floor, into the crowd and Orton and Kingston were just fighting it out, old school. This was rad. The melee ended with Kofi Kingston jumping off a railing onto Orton through a table! It was a cool move and a major throwback to simpler times.

John Cena & The Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho & Big Show and Dx

Overall the main event had a good sense of action, and urgency. Each guy got his move set in as fast as he could, and it worked well. This kept my attention and was quite good. I couldn’t believe that even though this match started after the 2nd hour was over, it still was given this much room to breathe. While it did seem a bit sped up, it still didn’t feel completely terrible to watch. Everyone hit their finisher, and it was John Cena and Triple H left in ring and guess what?

John Cena gets the pin!

Postmatch, Undertaker hits Cena with a huge tombstone and the night is over.

Overall, not a terrible night of wrestling, although there was a lot of talking, it was still alright. There was some obvious filler, and some not so great moments, but overall, come on, it wasn’t half bad; one week before Survivor’s Series.

I won’t be getting the ppv, I can’t afford it, but I’m sure someone will watch it.

WWE Wrestlemania 25 Results and Review The Worst Wrestlemania Ever

The results are now going to go first, then the review...so there you go.

WWE Wrestlemania 25 Results

C.M. Punk won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Santino (a) won a divas 25 women battle royal
Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper
Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper
Matt hardy defeated Jeff Hardy
Rey Mysterio defeated JBL for the Intercontinental Championship
Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels
John Cena defeated The Big Show and Edge for the WWE Championship
The Colons defeated John Morrison & The Miz in a WWE Tag Team Unification match up
Triple H defeated Randy Orton.

Here we go, I didn’t think I would make it, but here we go. The big event tonight is live from a near sold out Texas stadium. I heard on a podcast that this show is not sold out and that there are 25,000 tickets unsold as of Thursday. However, last minute ticket discounts, giveaways and more probably filled the stadium. I’m sure live notes will change things up a little. We’ll have to see what happens, with that. I’m glad I made it back in time to check this mess out, so that I can review it for you. If you’re out there and reading this, please buy something via amazon.com so that I can pay for this ppv, it was 20 dollars more than the average ppv, and really is breaking my bank. So yeah…chip in for your old pay sirjorge via the amazon links on the site, I get like 4% of what you buy, which isn’t much, but man, this isn’t cheap for me.

It has a good opening segment, asking what the best wrestlemania moment ever was…but who cares? I liked it wrestlemania 6 Hogan vs Warrior, I nearly cried when Hogan lost that match. Seriously, that was a tough one. Some random chick from the Pussycat Dollas was doing “American the Beautiful” lame. The best opening I’ve ever seen was Willie Nelson at Wrestlemania 7 in Los Angeles, when my dad took me. It was the L.A Sports Arena and Willie Nelson had a Wwe Heavyweight title around his waste, which was awesome. I marked out huge for Willie, even though I don’t own any of his albums. Wrestlemania 7 was awesome.

And away we go…Wrestlemania 25

**NOTE**

Apparently I didn’t get the Colon’s Tag Team title match, but they won the match up and are the Unified Tag Team Champions. Just so you know.

First match was Money in the Bank

The Participants:

C.M Punk
Finlay
MVP
Kane
Mark henry
Christian
Shelton Benjamin
Kofi Kingston

C.M. Punk won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match

First for the highlight reel was Kofi Kingston jumping over a mid waist high ladder and delivering a dropkick immediately afterwards! He may have hurt his knee though. Jim Ross claims that Reliant Stadium is sold out! Kane and Henry were first to go after the case but were melee’d by the rest of the guys out there. Kane was afraid to bump, that was apparent. Shelton Benjamin took a huge dive into all other competitors off a 25 ladder! Afterwards, Mark Henry was at the top rope ready to launch, but he didn’t make it. Hornswoggle brought in a baby ladder and was climbing to the top trying to reach the belts! Hornswoggle took a major dive off the top rope onto all the competitors. Kofi Jumped through a ladder ala Jackie Chan! That was insane, if you missed it man….wow…Kofi also caught a nut shot via Finlay’s baby ladder. I thought for sure Christian had this thing with a clever way to save himself from falling, but C.M Punk was there to stop him, then Kane was there to win it, but Punk once again clutched a hold of the briefcase and wins! C.M Punk gets it! CM PUNK WINS!

Kid Rock did a performance at this point. Not really my thing, but whatever.

The Divas started to march out at this point, for their match up, I lost track of who was out there cause I got distracted.

My ppv channel froze on me at this point. Seriously, this sucked, but while trying to call Comcast, the video came back on and I stopped calling them.

I’m not sure how many people from the past were in here.

Santino (a) won a divas 25 women battle royal

Victoria, Mickey James, Gail Kim, Jillian, Sunny, Maryse, Katie Lea, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, Santino (dressed as a girl) , Michelle McCool, Melina

There might have been others though, I couldn’t really see because Comcast trashed my feed halfway through the match up. This match was standard women’s battle royal and it ended up with Santino, dressed up as a girl winning the match up! SANTINO! That’s right, Santino dressed as a woman eliminated everyone!

Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper

Another hiccup had me missing the first part of this match up. I can’t believe this crap from Comcast…this thing is costing me a fortune and they keep messing it up! I join the match midway through and Jericho is getting worked. Piper got hit with elimination first or second, I don’t know, Snuka was out by the time I realized what was going on. Jericho was doing well, and Ricky Steamboat came back in with a house of fire worth of chops to Jericho. There was a lot of near falls with this match up and I thought Steamboat would get the victory but Jericho hit the Codebreaker and won the match up! That’s right, Jericho hit the Codebreaker on Steamboat for the win! Ric Flair got into the ring and the two exchanged blows like crazy, but it was too little too late.

Post match, Jericho called out Mickey Rourke, and he obliged by coming out into the ring! That’s right, he came out and entered the middle of the ring! Mickey Rourke knocked out Jericho with one punch and it was over.

Matt hardy defeated Jeff Hardy

Here we go, the war of the brothers. These guys took this match to extremes, but it wasn’t crazy. It wasn’t too much, it was just right for these two. The highlight for me was when Jeff Set up a table then put Matt on it, then put another table on top of him! I haven’t seen this since Bash at the Beach 1998 when Saturn set this up against Raven! Jeff Dove superman style through the top layer, to Matt and broke the bottom layer right in half! Jeff tried to jump a 20 foot ladder onto Matt, but that was a no go, Jeff might of knocked himself out after this one. He jumped like 20 feet, no joke, he was moving, but slowly, he is going to feel that later. Matt Hardy put this one to rest with a chair shot, and it was all over.

Rey Mysterio defeated JBL for the Intercontinental Championship

Rey Mysterio came out dressed as The Joker, with his mask completely covered, which was awesome. Rey Mysterio won this match up fast and easy, hit the 619 and it was all over. JBL got squashed.

Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels

Alright, this has to be match of the night! Yeah, this match was insane right here, it started off average and it had a few moments of boredom, but then things started to pick up and then we started to see some great stuff. Michaels missing the Moonsault was great, then if that wasn’t enough, Undertaker jumped over the top rope, Michaels pushed a camera guy in the way, and Taker landed on his head! This wasn’t a botch, but man did it look scary! Seriously, Undertaker may have knocked himself out completely with this one, and the Camera guy was dead, it was harsh. You heard a huge crack, which was insane too. Undertaker nearly got counted out because of this huge fall, but it was bad. HBK jumped back in and then hit one of the hardest Chokeslam’s I’ve ever seen in wrestling. He got a HUGE one, and it nearly killed HBK, at least it looked that way. Michaels hit Sweet Chin Music and the streak was definitely going and gone in this one, I thought it was going to be over, and Undertaker barely kicked out. The Last Ride was hit, but HBK kicked out of that too! THE LAST RIDE was hit and it sounded huge! HBK managed to kick out, and one must have really considered that HBK might in fact have ETERNAL LIFE! So the dead man might be outwitted by HBK, I know I was a believer at this point. Michaels got caught up in the ropes trying to get back into the ring like he did at the Royal Rumble, and Undertaker hit the biggest Tombstone piledriver I’ve ever seen in my life, seriously, the biggest one ever hit. This thing was so huge, and it wasn’t enough. Comcast shut me down again, but only for a moment, but the time it came back HBK hit Sweet Chin Music again! He hit it again, and it wasn’t enough to put away The Undertaker! It wasn’t enough and both guys were just completely stuck at this point. Michaels tried for one more moonsault but was caught by The Undertaker and dropped HBK on his head. One more Tombstone and it was all over. It was all over.

John Cena defeated The Big Show and Edge for the WWE Championship

John Cena had a TON of John Cena clones come down the ramp for him, and it was a cool site to see, this was a really cool intro. I don’t like John Cena but the million Cena clones was a sight to see in this match up, which is incredible. You gotta admit that was kind of cool, there were so many Cena clones, it was cool.
This match was ok at best. It had a lot of different outcomes were teased during this match up and it had edge looking the strongest. However, Chavo Guerrero got involved, and then it was mopped up. Big Show got caught up in the ropes a lot of times in this match up, as a way to isolate him, which was smart. Vickie got speared at one point too. In much predictable fashion, John Cena defeated Edge and the Big show to win this one.

Wrestlemania is announced to being in Arizona March 28th 2010.

Austin ran down and drank beer with Jim Ross and just had fun. The crowd went nuts.

Triple H defeated Randy Orton.

So now, we finish this thing, we finally get the big rematch. The last time I remember reviewing these two, Triple H broke Randy Orton’s collar bone and won the match up. This time it’s supposed to be personal, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one turns out…so I thought. Triple H hit the Pedigree early in the match up, but couldn’t pin Orton, and this match took another slow turn, as these two work slowly. The match took your standard moments with Triple H getting thrown over the side of the stage into the audience, but he made it back before the ten count. The match took a turn for the macabre when Triple H started to try and dismantle Orton outside, but was thwarted by the Ref’s warning that he would be disqualified if he were to continue. This was ludicrous, because he then got on top of a table with Orton! This led into the backdrop onto a table. The Ref took a bump, and boy did he sell it, like it was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Orton brought out the sledgehammer, and this thing was looking to end here. Triple H punted the crap out of Orton! Triple H ran and hit Orton with his own punt as Orton was trying to get back in the ring! Triple H then hit Orton, while he was down with right hands to an obscene point and nearly got himself disqualified. Triple H then hit the Pedigree for the win. Triple H defeated Randy Orton!

This was probably one of the worst Wrestlemania's I've ever seen. I didn't really like it, except for the HBK Taker match. This was lame.

Raw Before Backlash 5/12/2008

Alright, Raw’s last hope before the big event this weekend really did a good job shaking things up, and kept me interested with a few sore spots to work out.

First and foremost, the women’s match was lame. I’m tired of seeing the same match ups and the same old botched moves. Someone please shoe WWE a TNA’s women’s division tape.

Hot Rod coming out to a nice ovation was awesome, I enjoyed seeing good ol’ Piper out there. The tag team title match had me glad, but the execution of the match was really poor. The match quality was low and it didn’t do a lot of things to move forward the tag division. Although, it does look like WWE is hearing critics that said a title defense hasn’t been had in a long time. Moreover, the match was a quick one and while the interference by Roddy Piper was interesting on one point, the match itself was really short, considering how long these two teams have been wrestling each other. I could have done without this match, and I’m sure a rematch will probably happen at the ppv.

Mr. Kennedy came out and squashed Snitsky. Remember when Snitsky was a monster heel and was defeating people left and right. Well, in true WWE form, they squashed him fast. How long before he gets fired?

Jeff Hardy returns and didn’t miss a step. He went over on Umaga, who also used to be a hard opponent for most of the roster. Looks like Umaga might get fired soon too…good riddance.

Cryme Tyme’s match looked really cool until after the match Lance Cade turned on Murdoch. Once again the WWE screws up their tag team division by inciting a split between two members that form one of the only tag team championship caliber teams.

What next? Will they split up Cryme Tyme Too?

Randy Orton vs. John Cena with Y2J as the special guest referee was near PPV quality and had a lot of action, which surprised me. The length could’ve been longer, but I was genuinely enjoying this one, and while the outcome wasn’t what I thought should’ve happened, it did a great job building up the ppv. Although, I would have appreciated more HBK in the ending, but what happened instead was a cage lowered and Orton and HHH had their last minute feud fight before the big cage match.

Orton looked weak in the end, and will most likely lose this Sunday.

Overall Raw was ok, but not nearly as incredible as some of the late 90’s Austin era Raw’s. However, it did pick up the action, and involved a lot of intertwining feuds. The ppv should be interesting, and ECW tonight should do slightly better than most weeks past.

Boogeyman & Piper The Worms Are Here

Last night on ECW we were treated to a great segment featuring Rowdy Roddy Piper! The great mic worker was out and about until spoiled by one Matt Stryker. He of course was immediately discharged by an interuption by the Boogeyman!

Matt Stryker might want to consider staying in school!

This should build another Boogeyman vs. Stryker match up for later purposes. Overall, this was a great little piece, and a good break up from the action.

I know, I'm getting soft. But in light of current events, maybe it's about time.
