Kane defeated The Boogeyman
I wasn’t sure how this one was going to go. The Boogeyman has never been tested, and this was definitely going to be an interesting one, to say the least. Kane was going to the well right away, and The Boogeyman looked good in there for once, taking some punishment, but also dishing out a few moves here and there. Kane looked dominant in the match though, and I had to wonder why they would bury boogeyman on his own show? As I thought that, Kane caught Boogey coming off the top rope and nailed a Chokeslam for the easy pinfall.
Mark Henry defeated Santino in a Money in the Bank Qualifier
I can’t say that I agree with this one. Santino was buried by Mark Henry in this match, and he goes onto Wrestlemania. I don’t like that there are bigger guys in the ladder match because they are slow and won’t take big risks. On the other hand, bigger guys will catch and/or take damage from guys that are jumping off ladders, so maybe it all works out.
Natalya defeated Alicia Fox
Natalya very well maybe the best WWE diva. She put on a picture perfect Abdominal stretch in this match up, and did a good job making Alicia Fox look better than she would’ve been otherwise. Natalya beat Alicia Fox easily.
Post match, Tyson Kid tried to fight Dj Gabriel, and this will set up their feud, I’m sure.
Jack Swagger, Miz, and Morrison defeated Christian, Finlay, and Tommy Dreamer
The best tag matches seem to be isolated to ECW, these guys turn in simple six man tags into clinics on in ring psychology. Case in point, Tommy Dreamer getting cornered and isolated to the right side of the ring, with Swagger, Miz, and Morrison each taking turns putting out their frustration on the ECW veteran; eventually there was a hot tag in this match and Christian was clearing house. Captain Charisma was looking good out there, until he knocked out Finlay on accident. He had this match sewn up, but that slight distraction looked to be his downfall as he couldn’t put away Morrison away. A rolling ddt, followed by a diving head butt was destined to get the win for Christian and his team, but Miz saved the day. Morrison missed the flying leg, but Swagger was the legal man and he ran in right on time for the gut wrench powerbomb, once again defeating Christian by pinfall and costing the returning former Intercontinental Champion the atch for him and his team.

ECW on SciFi 2/17/09 Results and Review Christian Returns Again
Paul Burchill defeated The Boogeyman
The Boogeyman and Burchill open up the show, even though they tried this match before. Overall a quick match up with nothing too crazy, Burchill won with a quick roll up, in a fast match up. Nothing impressive at all. This wasn’t really a match at all it was just a random job.
John Morrison defeated Tommy Dreamer
Once again, Tommy Dreamer looks dazed and confused. He used to at least win some of these matches, but not anymore. He’s been getting beaten to a pulp each week on Ecw. I’m not sure if they are leading to a Tommy Dreamer ECW title run, but if they are, they are doing a terrible job building Dreamer to that. Morrison looked to be losing at one point, missing most of his high spots, and after The Miz was banned from ring side, I thought maybe things could change for the better. This was just momentary as he came back with his finishing maneuver, and it’s all over. Dreamer loses again.
Tyson Kidd defeated Caden Mathews
Another throwaway match on ECW; this show is turning into those free shows that WWF used to run on weekends at noon. You know, Wrestling Challenge and Superstars, two of my childhood favorite shows. This match was over before I finished my train of thought on the match up. You know who won.
Christian & Finlay defeated Jack Swagger & Mark Henry
Once again, nothing too crazy in this match, which is the standard for ECW, but maybe Christian will change it. Mark Henry and Swagger work well as a team, meanwhile Christian and Finlay seemed to be having trouble in paradise as neither one wanted to acknowledge the other too much. The Crowd was into this one when Captain Charisma got the hot tag, and they came alive for him, until Swagger caught him and dropped him with a picture perfect belly to belly suplex. Christian was getting ready to close this, but Tony Atlas distracted him, at least momentarily, prompting him to just drop a head butt. Hornswoggle jumped in and helped, then Finlay knocked out Henry, but it was Christian with the unprettier to get the three count yet again, and Swagger is pinned by Christian two weeks in a row! Does this mean that Christian is headed to being the new ECW CHAMPION? We’ll see.

ECW 2/3/09 Results and Review Swagger Finlay Continue
I watched this half asleep. I work full time, and try to review wrestling at the same time, meanwhile working on seven other blogs about random topics. I’m definitely stretching myself thin, and I’m not making any extra cash doing it…oh well. That’s not why I started, but whatever.
ECW kicked things off in traditional fashion with the same old crap.
Paul Burchill defeated Tommy Dreamer
Tommy Dreamer came out to try and impress the crowd, and even though they are firmly behind the underdog here, they do not help him overall. Burchill landed his finishing move, the neck breaker, and Tommy Dreamer is out cold and loses yet again. This was all Dreamer until the neck breaker, which is sad on a lot of different accounts. I don’t even know what to tell you in regards to this one, it wasn’t that fun to watch, as I remember when Tommy Dreamer was relevant in the old ECW. Maybe we’ll see a classic Tommy Dreamer match up tomorrow, in our “throwback” Thursdays segment.
The Boogeyman defeated Jamie Noble
Did anyone see this one coming? Yep. The Boogeyman defeated Jamie Noble in a throwaway match up. Jamie Noble got worked, and although there were a few moments of lucidity, the majority of the match was spent with Boogey knocking out Jamie Noble long enough to win this match. Jamie Noble is still employed? Yeah, apparently so.
Finlay defeated Jack Swagger
Swagger finally gets his first loss and it was at the hands of Finlay! That’s right Jack swagger put up a good fight against Finlay, but at the end of the match up, it was all Finlay. Finlay had Hornswoggle interfere to help him out, and the Celtic Cross proved too much for the All American American Jack Swagger! That’s right, Jack Swagger defeated by Finlay on ecw! Swagger is NO longer undefeated! WOOO!

ECW 1/27/09 Results and Review Matt Hardy Released
Theodore Long came out to inform everyone on ECW that Matt Hardy is now officially off the ECW roster and is now on Smackdown permanently. That’s fine with me. Jack Swagger came out and wanted to celebrate his new reign, and announced that this night would feature the celebration for the new ECW champion, and you know what? It’s about time that we had an undefeated champion on WWE programming.
The Boogeyman came out from under the ring and scared Jack Swagger away!
The Boogeyman defeated Ricky Ortiz via countout
I’m not sure what happened here. Ricky Ortiz was thrown out of the ring by The Boogeyman just stayed in the ring and looked scary; what a sorry excuse for a match. This was the dumbest match or attempt at a match ever.
Finlay defeated Paul Burchill
This match was a hard hitting brawl style match up. It featured a lot of hard shots between Burchill and Finlay, but didn’t really prove to be all that great overall. Horswoggle distracted Katie Lea for a short break in the action, and after that it was all Finlay. Too bad they never went anywhere with that whole Pirate Paul gimmick. Finlay hit his finisher, and Paul lost yet another match up. Nothing too great here, just another match up for Paul to lose; How long before Paul gets fired? I think it’s going to be sooner than later.
Mark Henry defeated Tommy Dreamer
This was a hard hitting match in which Tommy Dreamer proved yet again that he needs to retire. I’ve been rooting for Tommy Dreamer to retire for a long time now, and for whatever reasons the WWE still finds it in their heart to keep him employed. However, they make him lose these hard fought battles with nothing more than whimper to end it all. This match was heavily one sided, Dreamer gave everything he had, but Mark Henry caught Tommy Dreamer in mid air and dropped him with the world’s strongest slam and pinned Tommy Dreamer yet again! That’s right, Mark Henry defeats a dead fish called Tommy Dreamer.

Jack Swagger losing his belt was boring to me. I like Swagger, but he needs to stop with the lisp. Someone get the kid a speech coach and get a professional linguist to help him out a little bit. Overall, not the worse night in wrestling, but also not the best night in wrestling; ECW on sci-fi still has a lot in an hour show, which is a good thing in a bloated wwe marketplace.

ECW 1/20/09 Results and Review The Swagger Era Continues
The show opened with Jack Swagger and Matt Hardy being interviewed in the middle of the ring. They each traded words before Hardy slugged Swagger and the fight was on. The two men will fight each other this weekend at the Royal Rumble for the ECW Title.
Ricky Ortiz defeated Adam Evans
Ricky Ortiz opened up the night of wrestling with a quick win on a jobber. This is boring. I haven’t liked jobber matches since I was a small child watching WWE Superstars and Wrestling Challenge on free television. This match was quick and Ortiz won without any problems.
The Boogeyman defeated Paul Burchill
The Boogeyman finally got a real opponent, and it was Paul Burchill. I didn’t know where this was going, as we have been seeing Boogeyman steamrolling opponents left and right. This match had Paul being the aggressor, fighting off the Boogeyman, but as the crowd started to chant Boogeyman things started to turn around. That’s right, there was a Boogeyman chant! Weird. Burchill’s sister came in and interfered with the match and cost Paul the win. The Boogeyman wns via disqualification!
John Morrison defeated Finlay, Mark Henry, and the Miz
ECW has been picking up the pace at the end with solid main events. This was no different, the four men in this match made things interesting to say the least. It had a lot of action, with every man getting spots in, including Mark Henry looking really strong for a change. The Miz and Morrison were in there working like a team, but Mark Henry looked to be the odds on favorite! Finlay was definitely out numbered as all his attempts to get some offense in were thwarted by Miz and Morrison. I never thought that the Miz would be over, but man, the guy has improved so much. Mark Henry all but quit the match near the end Finlay got a second wind and isolated The Miz and hit the Emerald Fusion, but couldn’t capitalize as Morrison stepped in to take the pinfall! John Morrison pins his own partner The Miz to win this match up!

Ecw 1/13/09 Results and Review The Swagger Era Begins
ECW really knocked one out of the park with the Main Event of this night. You missed out if you didn't see it. Let the SWAGGER era begin!
Dj Gabriel & Alicia Fox Paul & Katie Lea Burchill
This match isn’t all that great. These two are ok in ring, and I don’t hate Dj Gabriel. I still think he’s just like Alex Wright, only with more muscle build. Alicia Fox is doing ok for being a new diva. Dj Gabriel scores the pin after a huge European uppercut! How long before Paul Burchill gets fired? That’s the real question I have at this point. Overall not that great of a mtach, the wrong guy went over. I wish Paul was still a pirate.
Tommy Dreamer came out in a suit and was crying on the mic. This was really lame, I don’t need to see a broken Tommy Dreamer crying on television. Dreamer says that if he can’t win the ECW title by June (when his contract expires) He will quit Ecw altogether.
The Boogeyman defeated Sammy Savard
I’m assuming that the wwe has no real reason for The Boogeyman to be in the ring then to freak out the kids. He once again defeats a random jobber and I’m tired of seeing this. I like the gimmick, but the WWE should use him like they did with Goldust when he first came to the wwe. Remember? He played up the mind games and really got a good amount of wins and even freaked out Razor Ramon at the height of his Intercontinental Title reign! Anyways, The Boogeyman wins with two moves, this match was lame, and not extreme at all.
Jack Swagger defeated Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship
It’s true Jack Swagger has been undefeated in the world of ECW and man has Matt Hardy really made that title worth something. I admit this is the first time that I’ve been really excited about the ECW title match, and rightfully so! This is how the title should be defended all the time. Swagger really pushed the limits here, he was working a little more old school than Hardy has been used to lately. He was really proving how good he really is in the wwe world. Swagger was really winning the crowd over at times too. As he was trying to set up a Superplex and Hardy delivered a powerbomb, things were looking all Hardy. Swagger managed to take a turnbuckle off before the bomb, and Hardy just couldn’t capitalize. The two were trying to fight each other off, and Hardy looked like he was going to win this one as he hit the Twist of Fate! Swagger kicked out, and Swagger wasn’t looking so hot towards the end, but then he managed to get Hardy right into the exposed turnbuckle after setting up Hardy for the electric chair! Swagger than hit the Gut Wrench Power Bomb and BOOM! We have a NEW ECW CHAMPION! That’s right, JACK SWAGGER has defeated MATT HARDY for the ECW championship and he pinned him 90 percent clean!

ECW 1/5/09 Review and Results
ALright, here is ECW coming back in action for the new Year! Oh yeah! I like where this is going and here's the latest and greatest review.
Jack Swagger defeated Finlay
The opening match for ECW’s show this week really impressed me overall. I was tired when watching this, but I really got behind Finlay in this match up. The announce team stated that Jack Swagger was next in line to fight Matt Hardy for his title, and it’s cool to see ECW pushing a young star, and even if Swagger can’t talk well, I like it none the less. Swagger is one of the newer guys to really get a push and although Ricky Ortiz was getting pushed at one point that has somewhat diminished for this better in ring rookie. Finlay was busted open the hard way in this match, as his mouth was bleeding, proving that Swagger is not some push over. Swagger was really impressive out there, obviously trying to get over with the backstage crew, as he was really taking control of the pacing and move set. Finlay was being worn down, old school style, which might be boring for some, but I liked this old school type match up. A few close calls came through towards the end and then we got the Gut Wrench Power Bomb and BOOOM! Swagger wins again and is STILL undefeated! Finlay hit the post hard, and then it was just downhill for him. Swagger hit Finlay in the face with two knees and then the powerbomb, and it was over. I’m impressed folks, seriously, Swagger has come a long way. His music sounding like Rage Against the Machine also helps out greatly.
Katie Lea Burchill defeated Alicia Fox
This match was shorter than I thought it would be. Katie Lea really put the boots to Fox, and while I did see some shining lights from Fox, this match wasn’t all that good. Fox had control for a good portion of the match, but Katie Lea hit her move, and it was over faster than the introductions. Weird.
The Boogeyman defeated Bret Barnes
Boogeyman is scarier now than ever. His makeup is insane, and if you saw it, you saw how bad this guy was. Seriously, this guy is just nuts, and that’s a great thing. Undertaker and Boogeyman should battle it out in a mind games war, although the match wouldn’t be too good. The jobber’s name was nearly shadowed by the Boogeyman’s exploding entrance. The Boogeyman defeats the jobber with ease, and the crowd was somewhat behind this.
Matt Hardy defeated Mark Henry
Once again Matt Hardy wins against Mark Henry. This happens every week, on ECW. I hope that Swagger wins the title, because Matt Hardy’s reign as ECW champion is getting really boring. I’ve seen this match so many times that by the time it was over, I didn’t care anymore; who would? This match is formulaic and it reminds me of the 1998 intercontinental championship run. Remember? The Rock vs. Triple H 9 times that year? And almost every ppv had Triple H and The Rock wrestling for the intercontinental championship? I got so tired of seeing that match, and I’m tired of seeing this one. I know I’m not alone.

The Rock vs. Triple H 9 times that year? And almost every ppv had Triple H and The Rock wrestling for the intercontinental championship? I got so tired of seeing that match, and I’m tired of seeing this one. I know I’m not alone.
ECW 1/6/09 Results
Matt Hardy defeated Mark Henry
The Boogeyman defeated Bret Barnes
Katie Lea Burchill defeated Alicia Fox
Jack Swagger defeated Finlay
Overall not a bad night of wrestling, but I didn’t like how it ended. I liked the first match for sure, swagger is winning me over, but where is Ricky Ortiz?

ECW 12/30/08 Results and Review
The show opens up with the Miz and Morrison with the Dirt Sheet. I admit, I like the dirt sheet, whenever I’m not dead tired. It is interesting to me that ECW opened this way, because it wasn’t wrestling related at all. It’s lame, seriously, this is stupid. The dirt sheet prompted Finlay and Hornswoggle to come to come out and defend himself, which was lame. This ended in a brawl and The Boogeyman showed up.
Matt Hardy defeated Mark Henry via Disqualification
I am almost sure that we’ve seen this match several times this year. I just know that we’ve seen this match more often than not. It’s interesting to note that the ECW show had this match second to the Dirth Sheet, which is odd, right? I don’t know, it just seems weird to me again, to have the last ECW show seem a little less than “kosher” if I can use that term. This match got better with time, it started out with a lot of rest holds from Mark Henry, but eventually had Matt Hardy putting on a show with all his popular moves, invigorating the crowd to get involved into the match. Henry managed to still kick out left and right, and even Tony Atlas got involved to no avail. The Twist of fate looked like it was going to connect, but Jack Swagger came into the ring and dropped Hardy, Costing Mark Henry the match!
Dj Gabriel defeated Paul Burchill
Dj Gabriel is the incarnation of Alex Wright. That’s right, it’s a new Alex Wright looking dude. Well, imagine if Tokyo magnum, Alex Wright and the disco Inferno had a love childe, you would get Dj Gabriel. This match up isn’t all that great at all. Gabriel is ok but Burchill hasn’t been relevant in a long time. I don’t like him in this weird gimmick he has. I liked him better as Pirate Paul Burchill. Katie Lee is kind of attractive, but not enough camera time was given to her. This was a rest hold classic, nothing major until the end which showed a little life from Dj. There was a picture perfect catapult into the turnbuckle, but that only prompted a huge lariat from Burchill. In the end though Dj proved to be too much for the former Pirate, and it was an all night dance party for Dj Gabriel and his manager.
The Miz and Morrison defeated Finlay & The Boogeyman
The Boogeyman and Finlay put together an interesting match against the tag champions, but overall this was shorter than it should have been. It was suppose to be a NO Disqualification match, but nothing crazy happened. The winners were Miz and Morrison yet again, but this match was lame. Boogeyman looked like he was going to win this one, and it just didn’t happen, Miz and Morrison get another win.
As a bonus, here’s a video of classic Alex Wright

Overanalyzing Wrestling: Christian Edition

The funniest thing to come out of wrestling this week didn't happen on any show. The funny thing about wrestling behind the scene's is stranger than anything that can be presented on screen. So check this out, Boogeyman and Booker T are hanging out together and they go to a sports bar to watch an NFL game. They get asked to leave because Boogey has a cross necklace on and its against the dress code. Before anything could go down however, Booker and Boogey leave. Sad huh? Can you imagine if the bar owners fought Boogeyman and Booker T? That would be incredibly hilarious to me. Look for Boogeyman to make his return on Halloween...or not.
Did you hear about Evan Bourne? Kid's done for 4 months thanks a legit injury on ECW. That's right, Evan Bourne suffered a legit injury. He tore ligaments in his ankle. This means that Vinnie Mac is once again going to ground the cruiserweights, as if there were many to talk about. This is a sad thing for Bourne, he was getting a good push through the WWE ranks. I wonder how it is that the mexican Lucha Libre stars are able to have a high flying offense and yet they don't have nearly as many injuries as the WWE stars. It's just funny to me.
In recent comments made by Y2J, he said that punching Shawn Michael's wife was tough but that it all worked out. I remember when that went down, it was nuts, Chris Jericho got real heat on that one, that's for sure.
This week in wrestling has been lackluster so far, to say the least. I mean there was a few good moments, but overall I'm not as excited as I once was. I am not sure if I ever will be marking out as much as I did when I was a little kid watching Hogan and Andre battle it out. However, I'm still here, don't worry.
Here's a classic match for you guys from vaults of WCW:
War Games 1989 from The Great American Bash:
The Road Warriors, The Midnight Express and Steve Williams vs. The Fabulous Freebirds and The Samoan Swat Team

ECW Hates Old Guys

The Boogeyman looked really good until he got demolished by the big man that used to be the world's largest lover. Oh man is this guy lame. He's intense, I give him that, but that's about all he has going for him. I know for a fact he doesn't have a whole can of wrestling ability.

Tommy Dreamer is sure showing his age in this match against Elijah Burke...can anyone remember K-Qwik? Oh yeah.

Is anyone else tired of non-title matches? There must be only 1 contender for the Ecw Championship. With no secondary title on the show, there's no reason to draw fans into a storyline of a contender that is rising in the ranks. Plus, there's no tag champions. Why do I punish myself watching ECW? I guess it's for the hopes of seeing moves like that.

Once Again Tommy Dreamer Should Quit

Last Night ECW went live on Sci-Fi and I was hoping for a good one. The overall quality has improved for the show, and I'm genuinely excited about Big Vis getting into the fray with the Boogeyman. You can't scare Big Vis, and well...I'm scared of the guy with some insane tattoo's. They should cover him up again though.
Striker is funny.

In regards to The Main even though, I am still saying that Tommy Dreamer should quit while he's ahead. Seriously, the guy is not as good as he used to be, and even in the promo video for him it's all shots of him from the old ECW not the new.
Case in point, the finish of the match. Think about it: A drop toe hold onto a chair! Raven did that to Tommy so much back in the day, and he would kick out and seek revenge! Here he just folds into a worthless piece of crap. He totally jobbed for an ailing Nitro.
Oh and don't get me started on the job Big Stevie Cool did for Punk.
Ecw was upsetting, but quality ratio has gone up this time.

Boogeyman & Piper The Worms Are Here
Last night on ECW we were treated to a great segment featuring Rowdy Roddy Piper! The great mic worker was out and about until spoiled by one Matt Stryker. He of course was immediately discharged by an interuption by the Boogeyman!
Matt Stryker might want to consider staying in school!
This should build another Boogeyman vs. Stryker match up for later purposes. Overall, this was a great little piece, and a good break up from the action.
I know, I'm getting soft. But in light of current events, maybe it's about time.

Boogeyman Almost Fired

Boogeyman was said to be on the "endangered species" list as recently as two weeks ago. His character was being written off of SmackDown, and that us why he was squashed by Mark Henry on a recent edition of SmackDown.
The Boogeyman was almost fired? 2 weeks more of the Boogeyman and he would have been fired. That's a shame!
That's right, sources are claiming that Boogeyman was nearly fired.
I know that Boogeyman has a limited arsenal, but so do a lot of other WWE superstars in history, and even today there are a few wrestlers that still have the prowess of knowing all the wrestling moves in the world!
When I saw Boogeyman at No way Out 2007, there was such an uproar and heat given to Finlay. There was also a lot of kids wearing Boogeyman masks, so I'm certain that there are fans out there that like the character enough to buy some merch.
Sure he's not a main eventer, but a good mid card guy at the very least.

Welcome To The Big Time Matt Striker Edition

Matt Striker not only did the job last night, but he did it so well that I had to comment on the ECW match up with none other than Boogeyman. I was appalled to see Striker having to sell the worms more than any other super star.
Boogeyman is getting faster, and better, but I feel that he needs some more psychology. He may not need to utilize that though, since he's in ECW, he can rely on cheap moves and weapons to get over. I think it's a new era in ECW with the additions of Chris Benoit and Boogey. I like Boogey, despite what others might say about him.
OH well.
ECW was actually kind of cool. 3 Matches in one hour, that's packed for WWE.

McMahon Not Dead & The Worst Pick In The Draft

If you believe that Vinnie Mac is really dead, than you're dead wrong. There is no wy in hell that they would treat a legitimate death as a storyline. Or would they?
Raw went into a tailspin yesterday with the draft and the worst pick of the draft is for Smackdowan. Talk about the worst idea ever...Torrie Wilson moves to Smackdown? Why? Who cares about the divas! That was a major throw away in regards to a draft at all.
I'm completely dumbfounded by that idea.
I like Boogeyman moving to ECW that way he can use weapons to offset his lack of abilities.
There was announced that there will be another draft this wednesday, but tonight's ECW is important, it will highlight who is going to be the NEW ECW Champion!
