WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Results and Review The First Ever Nitro

The first ever WCW Monday Nitro aired in 1995. September 4, 1995 to be exact, and it would mark the show that would compete against WWF’s Monday Night Raw for years, and at one point beating it. In this new series, I’m going to go back and watch every single Nitro and review them from the beginning to the end. This is on conjunction to the current WWE product, and PPV reviews that I’m doing at random moments, because I’m a glutton.

WCW Monday Nitro premiered from The Mall of America in Minnesota. This was a one hour show that shoved a lot of wrestling, or at least it felt like a lot of wrestling into an hour, and with a few surprises, wasn’t half bad. Here is how it went down.

WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Results

Flyin Brian defeated Jushin Thunder Liger
Sting defeated Ric Flair via DQ (United States Title Match)
Hulk Hogan defeated Big Bubba Rogers (WCW World Heavyweight Title Match)

WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Review

Flyin Brian defeated Jushin Thunder Liger

The opening match was really cool. WCW had put this match on PPV and the two had wrestled in Japan a few times by this point, but it was nice to see them put on a quick match. The internet said it was only 6 minutes long, but I felt like it was longer. Brian Pillman is great here, and Liger is always fun to watch. The two went back and forth before Pillman picked up the big win. Great opener, showcasing the great cruiserweight division, before it was called such.

Sting defeated Ric Flair via DQ (United States Title Match)

Sting and Ric Flair wrestled a really good match, but was interrupted twice. The first interruption was from Lex Luger, as he would appear 1 day after he appeared on WWF television! The announce team acted like they didn’t know what was going on, and Luger said he wanted a title shot. After he left, Arn Anderson showed up and eventually got involved, beating up Ric Flair and causing the DQ. The two would meet at Fall Brawl 1995, where Pillman would cost Flair the match.

Scott Norton came out and demanded a title shot. Mongo got in his face, and eventually Macho Man came out and challenged him for next week.

Hulk Hogan defeated Big Bubba Rogers (WCW World Heavyweight Title Match)

Hulk Hogan and Big Bubba Rogers put on an ok match, with Hogan getting the win with his usual moves of doom. Rogers is so agile for a big man, it’s always fascinating to see him wrestle. Hogan and Rogers are no strangers to one another as you may recall Rogers was The Big Boss Man in WWF where he feuded with Hogan for years.

That was it. In 1 hour, the WCW product showed some of their biggest names, and it was just getting started. I liked it. I will have to go back and watch the first ever Monday Night Raw, but for now, here’s this quick review of the first ever Nitro, which wasn’t half bad. It flew by, and the matches were ok at best. Flair and Sting are always fun to watch, even if the match broke down into chaos. Pillman, what a talent, sad to know he’s gone.

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Results and Review

The year was 1992 and the WCW promotion wasn’t as big as the WWF at the time. If you weren’t watching WWF, then you probably weren’t a wrestling fan in most areas. But if you loved wrestling, and you knew about WCW, you were mega hyped for this event. WrestleWar 1992 is one of the most coveted of VHS tapes and it has one of the best matches of all time. The show had a lot of matches, but the main focal point was the main event featuring Sting’s Squadron vs. The Dangerous Alliance which was managed by Paul E. Dangerously and Madusa. Yes, those two!

Now, in regards to the show, it took place on May 17, 1992, and there were 6,000 people jam packed into the arena. The crowd went absolutely nuts for some of this, and for others, not so much. The commentary team was Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura, two of the best. With that in mind, let’s see how this went down and my review.

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Results

The Freebirds defeated Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine for the WCW United States Tag Team Championship
Johnny B. Badd defeated Tracy Smothers
Scotty Flamingo defeated Buff Bagwell
Ron Simmons defeated Mr. Hughes
The Super Invader defeated Todd Champion
Big Josh defeated Richard Morton
Brian Pillman defeated Tom Zenk in the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship
The Steiner Brothers defeated Tatsumi Fujinami and Takayuki Iizuka
Sting’s Squadron defeated The Dangerous Alliance

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Review

The Freebirds defeated Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine for the WCW United States Tag Team Championship

If you haven’t seen a Freebirds match, you have to watch this match. This was a fast paced, back and forth match with the Freebirds getting so much praise that it’s amazing. You’ll hear the crowd go nuts for everything the Freebirds did. Not only that, Taylor and Valentine were great at putting the boots to the good guys here. The champs lose this one, and you get a huge uproar of praise.

Johnny B. Badd defeated Tracy Smothers

Tracy Smothers is so fast here, it’s impressive. For such a bigger guy, he was running through Badd at times. Badd was able to reverse things and fight, but it was Smothers that really shined in this match.

Scotty Flamingo defeated Buff Bagwell

I don’t like watching Raven as Scotty Flamingo, but hey, we were all young once. Buff Bagwell wasn’t called Buff here, and he lost as the guys mentioned he was still somewhat new in WCW.

Ron Simmons defeated Mr. Hughes

An ok big man’s match, nothing too great here, but hey it works.

The Super Invader defeated Todd Champion

Did you know that the Super Invader was Hercules from WWF? He squashed Todd Champion in this match, so that was that.

Big Josh defeated Richard Morton

A throwaway match. Big Josh wins another squash.

Brian Pillman defeated Tom Zenk in the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship

Zenk is an underrated wrestler. Brian Pillman was able to knock him out after some back and forth, but this match was a testament to the power that WCW had in their early 1990s roster. This was a serious fight, and something that is well worth exploring. Pillman is a gem, and he can really make you cheer for him. Zenk is surprisingly agile, and I wonder why he never made a splash in WWE.

The Steiner Brothers defeated Tatsumi Fujinami and Takayuki Iizuka

A great match with the young Steiners. In their prime, they could go, and it showed. The Japanese stars were fighting strong style, and put the boots to the Steiners, but they would not be denied the victory. If you love tag team wrestling, this is one hell of a match to watch. It was hard hitting, fast paced, and just impressive. The Steiners were so good in their youth.

Sting’s Squadron defeated The Dangerous Alliance

Stings Squadron consisted of: Sting, Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat and Nikita Koloff

And the Dangerous Alliance consisted of:

Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko (with Paul E. Dangerously and Madusa

This was a brutal match. There is nothing else to really say about it, it was brutal. Every guy in this match took a beating. Lots of power moves, lots of blood, great back and forth. The Alliance had the upper hand at one point, but it was one false move that cost them in the end. The Heel team here were monsters, these were grade A monsters, and Stings guys had a bit of infighting before they got into the cage and really tore it up. You owe it to yourself to see this match. It’s only 24 minutes long, but what you get is an insane pro wrestling match that the WWF couldn’t top in 1992, no matter what anyone says. This is a war, loved every minute of it.

The Bottom Line on WCW WrestleWar 1992

Don’t get this on the network if you can help it. You can watch it on there, but the unedited VHS is better. Overall, this was a great example of just how good WCW was in the early 1990s. You’re going to be absolutely thrilled with some of these matches, even though there was a bit of filler here and there. That main event though, wow, what a match. 5 stars from everyone that’s seen it.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results and Review Davey Boy Smith Explodes

WCW Beach Blast 1993 VHS Cover - Classic!
WCW Beach Blast 1993 was one of those shows that you either saw or you didn’t even know existed. Now that the WWE Network has all the major WCW events, you can watch it. I went back to watch this and was absolutely fascinated by the whole thing.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 was live from the Biloxi, Mississippi and there were 8,600 people in the arena for this one. The event was promoted with a mini-movie, one which Wrestling With Wregret and Colt Cabana made fun of (video below). This event was interesting in a lot of ways, mainly for the final matches, although there are some gems up front. We’ll talk about this, and well, it’s not as bad as some people may think.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results

Paul Orndorff (c) defeated Ron Simmons by disqualification WCW World Television Championship
2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell defeated Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce
Lord Steven Regal (with Sir William Dundee) defeated Erik Watts
Johnny B. Badd defeated Maxx Payne
The Hollywood Blonds (Brian Pillman and Steve Austin) (c) defeated The Four Horsemen (Paul Roma and Arn Anderson) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship
Dustin Rhodes fought Rick Rude to a draw 1-1 30 Minute Iron Man Challenge for the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship
Ric Flair defeated Barry Windham (c) Singles match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
The Superpowers (Sting and Davey Boy Smith) defeated The Masters of the Power Bomb (Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious; with Harley Race and Col. Robert Parker)

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results and Review

Paul Orndorff (c) defeated Ron Simmons by disqualification WCW World Television Championship

Ron Simmons was a big deal in WCW, but this match wasn’t that good. Simmons was nursing injuries in the 1990s, and it showed. Orndorff was not in his prime here, and he was gassed towards the end here. This match was ok, ended in disqualification and left me thinking, what would have happened if Orndorff stayed in WWE?

2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell defeated Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce

2 Cold Scorpio is so much fun to watch. Buff Bagwell and the other idiots are lost here. Oh and did you know the other guys are the Godwinns from WWE? Yeah. Ok match, 12 minutes, 2 Cold Scorpio is the best here.

Lord Steven Regal (with Sir William Dundee) defeated Erik Watts

Erik Watts! The son of the booker man from the territory days, and about as exciting as mayonnaise on toast. Steven Regal was good here, with some stiff offense, before winning big here in under 10 minutes.

Johnny B. Badd defeated Maxx Payne

Not a fun match here, it was adequate. Payne was ok, but he’s better when tagging with Cactus Jack.

The Hollywood Blonds (Brian Pillman and Steve Austin) (c) defeated The Four Horsemen (Paul Roma and Arn Anderson) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship

Brian Pillman and Steve Austin were on drugs, right? They were flying around the ring, bumping for Arn and Paul like they just drank a whole pot of coffee. This was a fast moving match, and I was thoroughly impressed with Pillman and Austin’s tags, as well as Paul and Arn’s quick counters. The Arn Anderson spine buster is absolutely brutal, holy crap. Nearly 30 minutes, a great overall tag title match with the Blonds winning.

Dustin Rhodes fought Rick Rude to a draw 1-1 30 Minute Iron Man Challenge for the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Rick Rude and Dustin Rhodes went 30 minutes to a draw, and I swear it’s a full 30 minutes. It was slow at times, then there were moments of excitement, but this was not as good as you’d think. Rude is so much better than WWE’s version here, even though he’s not playing the same character. He’s more hairy here, and he looks to have lost a little weight. Dustin is pre-goldust, and it shows. Good stuff, up front, but the two were gassed towards the 25 minute mark.

Ric Flair defeated Barry Windham (c) Singles match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship

You would think that this match would’ve been great, but nope. Not sure what happened here, it was a boring title match, and though Flair bumped a lot, Windham just seemed stiff at times. Under 12 minutes, and it just wasn’t exciting to watch, I’m sorry.

The Superpowers (Sting and Davey Boy Smith) defeated The Masters of the Power Bomb (Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious; with Harley Race and Col. Robert Parker)

Here we go, the main event! This match was stellar. I was surprised how well it worked out, especially with two giants on one end. Sting was flying around and bumping like crazy for Vader and Vicious. The first 5 minutes had Vicious looking better than any WWE home grown talent. His choke slam on Sting with 1 hand was absolutely brutal. Davey Boy Smith impressed with some amazing power moves. The delayed suplex on Vader will absolutely drop your jaw. The crowd went nuts, as he had Vader up high for quite some time. I was impressed. Remember this is 1 year after Summerslam 1992, which is weird to think about. Davey Boy Smith and Sting won big.

Overall, WCW Beach Blast 1993 was great fun. The first four matches were boring, but the last set were fun to watch. I was surprised by how much fun it was to watch some of these guys. Steve Austin and Pillman over the Horseman was great, Rude in WCW was always interesting, and the main event was a lot of fun. It’s so weird to see Davey Boy Smith in WCW, especially after Summerslam 1992. Good stuff here. I did notice minor edits on the network, so pick up the vhs tape.

WCW Clash of The Champions 22 1993 Results and Review

WCW Clash of The Champions was a program that WCW would put on for free These were super cards that were filmed for television and usually had around 7 matches or so, with some great main events and overall wrestling. These were FREE, but the matches were often like PPV. I’m going to be reviewing as many WCW cards as I can as I move forward with watching all of my wrestling video collection. These are available on the WWE Network since there is no DVD or VHS version of these events.

WCW Clash of The Champions 22 1993 Results

Cactus Jack defeated Johnny B. Badd
2 Cold Scorpio defeated Scotty Flamingo
Chris Benoit defeated Brad Armstrong Singles match
Vinnie Vegas defeated Tony Atlas Arm wrestling contest
The Wrecking Crew (Rage and Fury) defeated Johnny Gunn and Tom Zenk
Shane Douglas and Ricky Steamboat (c) defeated Brian Pillman and Steve Austin Tag Team match for the NWA World Tag Team Championship and WCW World Tag Team Championship
Dustin Rhodes, Sting and Cactus Jack defeated Big Van Vader, Barry Windham and Paul Orndorff In A Thundercage Tag Match

WCW Clash of The Champions 22 1993 Review

First of all Jim Ross was calling all of the action, but of course WWE snaked him and he would be at Wrestlemania later. Ross was great on the show, and well you can’t really get the same reactions from others. Here’s the card and my thoughts.

Cactus Jack defeated Johnny B. Badd

Johnny B. Badd was so cool back then. Cactus Jack was extreme, but he wasn’t as extreme as he would get with Terry Funk or with ECW. Foley was making six figures in WCW, and he was taking a beating already. He took on a few insane bumps here, and won in 3 minutes or so. Badd is so charismatic in this role, it’s fascinating.

2 Cold Scorpio defeated Scotty Flamingo

I have no clue why 2 Cold Scorpio didn’t get more of a push in WWE, he’s amazing. Flamingo is of course, Raven, and this match was fast paced. Raven could go fast back then, and Scorpio’s high flying moves are impressive. This was a fun 5 minute match.

Chris Benoit defeated Brad Armstrong

Brad Armstrong doesn’t get enough credit for being such a great wrestler. Here he shows up and wrestles a great overall match with Chris Benoit. Benoit would get the win, but Armstrong is no slouch. Bischoff once commented on the fact that Brad was a quiet, easy going guy backstage, so he never made it past the midcard at best. That sucks, cause he’s really good here.

Vinnie Vegas defeated Tony Atlas Arm wrestling contest

This is laughable. Do you know who Vinnie Vegas is? It’s Kevin Nash. Simple as that. Tony Atlast, you already know. This was pointless.

The Wrecking Crew (Rage and Fury) defeated Johnny Gunn and Tom Zenk

Not a great match, but hey, it was 1993 and the rosters weren’t as big. The Wrecking Crew are typical big heels, and Zenk with Gunn got beat down after around 6 minutes or so. A throwaway cooler match.

Shane Douglas and Ricky Steamboat (c) defeated Brian Pillman and Steve Austin Tag Team match for the NWA World Tag Team Championship and WCW World Tag Team Championship

Holy crap. This is the highlight of the show. Douglas and Steamboat are so fast here. They put on a showcase of fast paced wrestling, and Pillman is gold with Austin. The Hollywood Blondes are a tag team of epic proportions. Pillman is a wrestling superstar here, and Austin is so crisp and sells so well, you almost forget that he was fired by WCW. Pillman is incredible here, but Steamboat and Douglas are no slouches, as they pull off the big win in 15 minutes. You gotta watch this one. Their feud this year went epic, by the way.

Dustin Rhodes, Sting and Cactus Jack defeated Big Van Vader, Barry Windham and Paul Orndorff In A Thundercage Tag Match

This was odd. Before the match ever started Ron Simmons and Vader got into a fight. The main event started with Dustin Rhodes and Sting against Vader, Windham, and Mr. Wonderful. The whole thing turned into a giant brawl, and out of the blue Cactus Jack came down with some wire cutters and broke into the cage. Then he would proceed to take over and win the match for the team. This was a brawl, and led to Superbrawl’s main events.

Overall, this card was definitely a B show. It wasn’t great, but there were a few highlights. 2 Cold Scorpio, Cactus Jack, and the tag title match all make this event worth checking out on the WWE Network. I liked it a lot.

WWE Slamboree 1998 Results and Review A Better VHS Experience

In this edition of a Better VHS Experience, I will be reviewing one hell of a WCW pay per view. This event was held on May 17, 1998, and it was held at The Centrum in Worcester, Mass. The show got 11,592 into the building, and they were raucous for sure. The matches here were well booked, and set up. In fact, this may have been the best WCW pay per view from 1998.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to see these shows on VHS tape instead of the WWE Network. There’s a LOT of censorship when you see them on the network, but hey, that’s just my 2 cents as to why I talk about this stuff on this site. This is my take on going back and watching this instant classic.

WWE Slamboree 1998 Results

Fit Finlay defeated Chris Benoit

What an opener. Fit Finlay put the boots to Benoit, and this match was stiff. Both guys were hitting each other with some serious lumber in the ring, but it was Finlay with a serious tombstone piledriver on Benoit for the win. This was a hard hitting television title match, and definitely a good starting point.

Lex Luger defeated Brian Adams

This wasn’t very good. Lex Luger is great in high profile matches, but this wasn’t necessarily grand.

Ciclope won the Cruiserweight Battle Royal

This was awesome. Chris Jericho announced each participant, and it was a lot of great lucha guys. The match was great, and then left 2 major wrestlers in the ring. Ciclope and Juvi, and after a stare down, Juvi jumped out of the ring eliminating himself, only to reveal that under the Ciclope mask was none other than Dean Malenko! This absolutely blew up the crowd, and things went insane. This was exciting, and beyond what you may think. I was even screaming, it was great

Dean Malenko defeated Chris Jericho for the Cruiserweight Title

This was a scientific match, and it got the crowd moving. Jericho played a great heel here, and his in ring work is so much better with smaller guys. The two went back and forth across moves you don’t see anyone do in WWE, and it was amazing. The crowd was eating out of their hands, and when the dust settled, Dean Malenko won this grudge match. Great overall wrestling here, and perhaps one of the finest performances between the two.

Diamond Dallas Page Defeated Raven in an Asylum Match, I Mean a Bowery Death Match

Raven’s rules made this one so cool. DDP fought Raven inside a steel cage with weapons inside and it was awesome. This was my favorite match of the night, and Raven really put on a show against DDP. He also bumped like crazy for Page. Through the mid-point of the match, however, the FLOCK got involved, only to get beat up by Kanyon! Kanyon ripped his mask off from being Mortis, and then chained the flock to the cage, and hit Raven with a chair shot heard round the world. But overall, this match was insane, lots of hard hits, lots of back and forth, and even Raven doing the Diamond Cutter at one point. This was an instant classic for me.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Ultimo Dragon

Another instant classic, Guerrero and Dragon put on a showcase of pro-wrestling the likes you don’t see in WWE a lot. Guerrero is so underrated here, and Dragon was misused in WWE. The two put on a showcase of amazing moments, and in the end Guerrero took the win. Excellent match.

Goldberg defeated Saturn in the WCW United States Championship match

Goldberg ran through Saturn. Don’t get this wrong though, the match was only 7 minutes long, but Saturn put the boots to Goldberg and he looked as though he was going down until Goldberg caught Saturn in mid-air and drove him to the mat. Then things went nuts. The crowd was so into Goldberg it’s insane.

Bret Hart defeated Randy Savage (Piper was special referee)

If you read WIKIPEDIA they are wrong. While the match ending was reversed, Savage lost this one in an instant classic from Hart. Hart and Savage put on a classic psychological match with Hart targeting Savage’s injured leg. The injured leg would come into play at the end when Savage would get locked into the sharpshooter. Savage even reversed the Sharpshooter at one point and it was to no avail. The ending was a bit much, with Piper going down after Hart hit him, then Hogan showing up to mess up Savage’s leg, and Hart getting the win after all the shenanigans.

Sting and The Giant defeated The Outsiders for the WCW Tag Team Championships

This was a match that had some big hits, big moves. Lots of back and forth, and a classic match with two teams that were quite good overall. The Giant joined the NWO, so this was an odd one. Whatever the case was, this was a good 15-minute match that could’ve been better, but hey, I’m not going to complain too much. The shocker here was that Scott Hall turned on Kevin Nash. This of course would lead to the formation of the NWO red and black which was HUGE in the second half of 1998.

Overall Rating: 9 out of 10

Slamboree 1998 is one of the best WCW pay per views in my opinion. The matches were fun, and the stories that were told were classic in my opinion. Of course, there were a few lulls, but overall, there’s a lot to explore here. The cruiserweight battle royal and Raven vs DDP were absolutely great. This is a follow up to the Spring Stampede match that Raven beat DDP in, and it was amazing. Great stuff. This is well worth tracking down on VHS.

WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 Results and Review A Better VHS Experience

You Can Buy The Uncensored/Unedited VHS Tape HERE

Well, here we go, another WCW pay per view review. This one was held on July 11, 1999. Do you know where you were? I was in Santa Clarita, California about to head back down to Santa Monica, and well, I missed this one. However, I did have the VHS tape and recently went back and watched it again.

WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 had 13,624 in attendance, which is not a small crowd for the company. It was sad to see that 1 year later, this show wouldn’t even draw 10,000. Anyways, while some will hate WCW, this wasn’t half bad, and here are my thoughts in regards to the classic pay per view.

WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 Results and Review

Ernest Miller defeated Disco Inferno

I never hated Disco, but here he was a shell of his former self. The official time according to the internet was 3 minutes, but I felt like this was a lot longer. Disco isn’t a bad wrestler, he put on some great matches in 1998. I would cite Starrcade 1998 as one of his finer performances. I would also like to mention that he was one tough guy. Just look at Booker T vs. Disco and you’ll see Booker come off the top rope and basically kill Disco by landing full force on his skull. It was a sick mistake, but hey, that’s what happens. This match was fast, had a lot of cheating, and really wasn’t that great, not the best opener.

Rick Steiner defeated Van Hammer (TV Championship)

This was a weird match. Hammer must have done something wrong. Steiner started to no-sell the offense, and instead started to really hit Hammer and this match ended in 3 minutes or so. It was a terrible match, and Hammer wasn’t a bad wrestler.

David Flair defeated Dean Malenko (U.S. Championship)

This was as good as you may think it was. Malenko carried Flair to a watchable match, but thanks to Flair, Anderson, and Double D, David won the match. But not before taking a serious beating. Rick Flair’s nepotism saved him from losing, but he got beat the hell out of for it.

The No Limit Soldiers defeated The West Texas Rednecks

This was an elimination tag team match, and it was laughable to say the least. The best part of this was watching Brad Armstrong in there, mopping up as a No Limit Soldier. Other than that, I can’t recommend this one. I will say this much, The West Texas Rednecks sure put on a showcase of old school wrestling.

Fit Finlay won a Junkyard Invitational (WCW Hardcore Championship)

It was hard to see this one, as the camera kept switching, it was dark, and was just garbage. Fit Finlay would win, but this was a bad idea, executed terribly. This was seriously a bad match, and it legitimately injured a lot of the wrestlers.

The Jersey Triad defeated Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit (WCW Tag Team Championship)

23 minutes, and what a hell of a match this was! The Triad was a team made up of DDP, Kanyon, and Bam Bam Bigelow. Bigelow, holy crap, he could move. In this match, watch for him moving like a cruiserweight, and even coming off the top rope with ease. DDP and Kanyon’s fast tags made sense, and Benoit and Saturn just couldn’t keep up with the numbers. This one stole the show in my opinion, and it is one of the best WCW pay per view matches ever put together.

Buff Bagwell defeated Roddy Piper in a boxing match

This was a throwaway match. Buff won, but eh, I didn’t care. Mills Lane was the referee.

Randy Savage and Sid Vicious defeated Kevin Nash and Sting (WCW World Championship Match)

This was something else. This was a tag match, and it got rowdy fast. Nash was laying waste to Savage and Vicious, Sting wasn’t taking any guff, and this got intense. There was a lot of great moments, but with only 13 minutes to tell a story, it got rushed in the end. Savage won this match and became the WCW World Champion. It sent the fans home confused, as Sting and Nash were way over here, and yet nothing. Oh well. The match was fun, nothing too grand.

Overall Rating: 7 out of 10

WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 didn’t deliver like it did a year before. However, nearly getting 14,000 people to see it was great. If you get this on VHS you can get the unedited music, and commentary. There’s a lot of editing on the WWE end if you see it that way. The best match was definitely the WCW Tag title match, and the rest was take it or leave it for me. Also, pay close attention to how the commentary team treats Bobby Heenan. You could hear the frustration in his replies during this one, it was really bad. Heenan hung in there, but I would’ve walked out, unless he was in on it. I don’t know, sometimes you can’t tell here.

I suggest picking up WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 on VHS here, if you have the money. Get the VHS tape and rip it to dvd, don’t see it on the WWE Networking, or you will not get the crowd reactions and real music for guys like DDP. Overall, not half bad, but not great either.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1989 Results and Review Better Wrestling VHS Series

In an effort to go back and watch more and more wrestling, I have decided to review older VHS tapes. As you may or may not know, at the height of my tape collecting, I had 1400 wrestling videos. I had amassed a huge collection before getting married and selling it all off. Now with the network, you can relive the action. As such, here we go, a review of the 1989 classic Halloween Havoc from the Philadelphia Civic Center in Pennsylvania. Before a crowd of roughly 7,000, this was one hell of a night for wrestling, and here are my thoughts.

Halloween Havoc 1989 (October 28, 1989)

Tom Zenk defeated Mike Rotunda

You may know Mike Rotunda as IRS in the WWF but here he was part of the Varsity Club. As for Zenk, he’s known as Z-Man and he didn’t really get to far in WWE as far as I know. However, he has some serious talent. He reminds of Rick Martel, and well he was part of the Pan Am connection. This was a 13 minute, finesse wrestling match, with some good spots overall, and classic old school wrestling action.

The Samoan Swat Team defeated The Midnight Express and Dr. Death Steve Williams

This wasn’t half bad. It was a match that was fast paced, hard hitting, and featured a lot of crowd interaction. The crowd was going insane for everything that each team did, especially when Jim Cornette got involved.

Tommy Rich defeated The Cuban Assassin

Not a good match. Rich was looking old. Cuban Assassin was on his way out, so this must’ve been the bathroom break match.

The Fabulous Freebirds defeated The Dynamic Dudes (Tag Team Title Match)

Holy crap, Johnny Ace and Shane Douglas coming out with skateboards and neon gear! This was hilarious to see, and a bad idea. However, the match featured The Fabulous Freebirds, and they were the champions in this match. Michael Hayes came out without the tag title, and Garvin had one around his waist. That seemed odd to me. Overall, the match wasn’t half bad, and the Freebirds were way over with the crowd, and of course after around 11 minutes, they won this one.

Doom defeated The Steiner Brothers

Holy crap, The Steiner Brothers were over, and they were so fast in ring. Doom is Butch Reed and Ron Simmons and they had a hard time keeping up with the Steiners. Also, note, Nancy Benoit was the manager of Doom. Whatever the case is, the Steiners lost this one after getting distracted. However, they put the boots to Doom, and Scott Steiner was really impressive in this one. Holy crap, the dude can move, and the Frankensteiner is a thing of beauty.

Lex Luger defeated Brian Pillman (United States Championship)

Lex Luger and Pillman tore the house down in my opinion. This match was just under 17 minutes, and the two put on a classic. Pillman was flying around, but Luger was doing power moves and trying to ground and pound his way through this one. Eventually Pillman missed from the top rope, and Luger capitalized. A great overall match in my view.

The Road Warriors defeated The Skyscrapers

This was another hard hitting tag team match. Holy crap was it hard hitting. The Road Warriors weren’t selling as much, and you could tell. It was very noticeable that Sid Vicious was NOT as tough as Hawk or Animal. The match went by nicely, but it was The Road Warriors that got the win with a DQ finish. A young Teddy Long was here, so that was interesting.

Ric Flair and Sting defeated The Great Muta and Terry Funk in a Thunderdome Cage Match with Bruno Sammartino as special guest referee

And away we go, the main event was an insane wrestling match, that was very strange. The Thunderdome cage match was supposed to have an electrified top. I didn’t really see that come into play much. However, this match turned into a brawl fast, and you will absolutely be surprised how ripped Terry Funk was in 1989. Furthermore, Sting and Flair teaming without Flair turning on him. Muta was undefeated at this point, and the four guys in this match absolutely fought a hard hitting brawling cage match. Not a lot of blood or anything, but a lot of just straight chops, suplexes and Sting flying off the top rope a lot. Good overall main event, but a little old school for many tastes.

Halloween Havoc 1989 Overall rating: 8 out 10

The best part of this show was the U.S. Title match, alongside the Steiners and the Samoan Swat Team. This type of wrestling was far and away better than the WWF product at the time, that’s for sure. I had a blast with this one, and the crowd reactions are the best with this. The crowd was distinctly involved with all the matches, and the main event had them going absolutely insane.

I recommend buying Halloween Havoc 1989 on VHS, because it's unedited. If you see it on the network, the music, and some of the signs, and broadcast has been edited for time, and WWE's only standards! Click here to get the UNEDITED version.

WWE Night of Champions 2015 Results and Review

I had debated whether or not I wanted to watch this. All day I didn’t want to spend the 9.99 to get this. Then at the last minute my wife had to go to work and I decided to bite the bullet and see if I could watch the WWE once again screw me over. Night of Champions 2015 was live from Houston and I’m glad I didn’t have to pay the high costs of PPV from back in the day, aren’t you?

WWE Night of Champions 2015 Results and Review

Stardust and The Ascension defeated Neville and The Lucha Dragons

I think this is what went down. I have no idea how I missed what was going on. I don’t really like these guys, but at least they got a pay day right? I just can’t get over the fact that The Ascension were already buried by the legends, specifically JBL on Raw. Just sayin. Oh and Neville is the man creative forgot, so there’s that.

Kevin Owens defeated Ryback for the Intercontinental Championship

SRC wwe.com

This was an ok match. Owens did his best here, but I hated the finish. The finish made this match suck for me. A distraction roll up is what I call it. That’s all it takes to beat Ryback? A scrape to the eyes and a roll up? What is this 1985? No thanks.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev

No thanks. Without Lana’s little dance from when she was approached by Fandango, this didn’t hold much water. These two are ok but this feud makes no sense and is boring. Ziggler is wasted here.

The Dudley Boyz defeated The New Day via DQ

This match was very fun. The guys in New Day sure know how to create an entertaining match up. I loved it, and the crowd was way into what they were doing. The Dudleyz can still go, and that’s great. Bubba is a great performer at his age, and Devon, come on, DEVON TESTIFY! This was a fun showing, especially with Xavier and the Trombone! Overall a decent match with a terrible ending. I loved the table spot at the end, but alas, no title change. New Day Rocks, New Day Rocks….it’s hard to make it sound cool via text.

Charlotte defeated Nikki Bella

This was the best Nikki Bella match I’ve ever seen. Why? Because it told a psychological story. Charlotte had to overcome the onslaught of attack on her leg. She had to overcome the constant pressure of the champion, and dig in and win. Nikki is not a great wrestler, but here, it made sense. Attack a limb, and just keep working on it, but alas, she made a mistake. This is a good way to end the title reign she’s had.

The Wyatt Family defeated Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho

The announcement of Y2J was cool, but he doesn’t fit this feud in my view. Why didn’t they go with Samoa Joe? Or why didn’t they go for someone bigger? Kane would’ve worked here, and I hate Kane. Chris Jericho still has some go, and it was nice to see this go down. When he lost the match though, it seemed awkward. He didn’t give any apologies, he just shoulder pushed his way through Ambrose and Reigns and that was that.

John Cena defeated Seth Rollins

This was a good match, but not nearly as good as their Summerslam match up. Given limited time, they put together a good enough moment. Rollins lost clean here, and Super Cena will return to his Raw showcases I’m sure.

Seth Rollins defeated Sting

Word on the street is Sting got injured. I was impressed by what he did. He came off the top rope in crazy fashion, took a table bump, and went for it against Rollins. However, Sting got injured and it seemed as though he was showing his age. That being said, it wasn’t worthwhile. It was ok. But Sting is NOT in his prime, while Rollins definitely is. Rollins escapes with the title.

SRC wwe.com

Sheamus cashed in, or tried. But Kane came out and beat up Rollins. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE KANE OR THE BIG SHOW IN WWE EVER AGAIN!!! I threw a can at my television after seeing them.

Overall, Night of Champions 2015 gets a C rating. It’s passable. But it wasn’t a great show at all. I was bored throughout, with few exceptions. Oh well.

WWE WrestleMania 31 Results and Review – The Best One In Ages

SRC WWE.COM
Everyone had something to say about WrestleMania this year. Leading up to it, no one really knew what to expect, and everyone had their own opinion on the matter. What no one really talked about was what really went down. With the exception of Taz, no one that I heard online called this ending and therefore I am going to go out and say that I CALLED IT! But since I don’t have a podcast and I don’t have a voice other than this site, I’ll just leave it at that.

Mania came and went, and I invested heavily into this one. I spent 6 hours of my Sunday watching this thing. Was it good? Well here are my thoughts.

WWE Tag Teach Championship Match

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro win a fatal 4 way

This match was good to start things off. The Usos were basically eliminated due to injury. However, there were a lot of moments that were definitely worth looking at. I liked the tandem moves, the frenetic pace, and definitely enjoyed how things moved through. Natalya is hot, I loved her outfit, and couldn’t look away. Tyson Kidd seemed injured at the end, but the win was strong, a good match for me.

Big Show won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

I did not like this match. However, the ending was ok. Mizdow should’ve won, but that’s ok. I liked the match and really enjoyed the eliminations that came through. There’s not much to say here. Great action, lots of cool spots, including the NXT member whose name escapes me.

Daniel Bryan wins the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

Bryan took a beating. Ambrose nearly died out there. The whole match was hard hitting. I didn’t peg Bryan to win, but am glad he was able to pull it off. The follow up interview after was awesome, with all the former intercontinental champions congratulating him. I’m hoping he goes down as a fighting champion, as there’s a lot of competition for him. Great match, fun, lots of high spots.

Randy Orton defeated Seth Rollins

I never liked Orton. Until now. He is a machine. Like a well-oiled machine he plowed through Seth Rollins in this one. I loved the RKO out of the air, and just found this to be a great match up. Orton’s win made me think that there was something in the air for later. Orton needs more competition.

Triple H defeated Sting

Sting put on a hell of a show with Triple H. The two got along great in the ring. DX came out to help Trips, then the New World Order came out to help Sting. I loved it. I was expecting Ric Flair to come out, but he didn’t. At the end, Sting went down and was defeated. I loved the match and really thought the two put something good together.

AJ Lee and Paige defeated The Bella Twins

I had to use the bathroom. I heard this was an ok match. I saw a little of it, it doesn’t catch my eye, the divas are getting better though.

John Cena defeated Rusev for the United States Championship

For a moment, I thought Cena was going down. Nope. No matter how much I hate him, he seems to find a way to win. He pulled out some great moves here. I liked the match enough, however, I didn’t want Cena to win. Lana is hot as hell.

The Undertaker defeated Bray Wyatt

Taker was looking old and was selling Wyatt’s move set. I liked the match well enough, but you know, Taker is just looking tired. It was an entertaining match, but it wasn’t grand.

Ronda Rousey is the hottest woman on the planet. I love her. I wish I had a chance to date her. That being said, the Rock came down and challenged Triple H after a promo. Stephanie got in his face, and Ronda came over the rail as Rock brought her out. Then she took on Trips and Stephanie in a great WrestleMania moment!

Seth Rollins Cashes in Money In The Bank To Win The WWE Title

Brock Lesnar is a machine. He tore Roman a new one. He completely blew away Reigns here. Reigns absolutely got beaten down. I was impressed. Lesnar was busted open the hard way. Seth Rollins ran down amidst the beating and cashed in the Money in the Bank. NO ONE CALLED THIS! He then went back and forth with Lesnar a bit before Lesnar caught him in mid-air and then got speared by Reigns. Holy crap I went nuts and after a curb stomp on Reigns, ROLLINS won the title and ran away.

SETH Rollins is the new champ.

Overall WrestleMania thought? This has been the most enjoyable Mania I’ve seen in a long time. I loved it. I can’t wait to see how they follow this up.

Monday Night Raw Review 1/19/2015 The Brock Lesnar Show

Way to Put Over The new Guys. SRC WWE.com
Brock Lesnar is one of the highlights that I remember about Raw this past week. I forget to write my thoughts down earlier in the week because I’m an idiot. I recall Lesnar coming down and causing a great deal of havoc, but most importantly calling people out. Rollins better get beaten down, Cena of course is going to get taken out. I’m guessing a Lesnar win with a Rollins cash in, but that’s what everyone is saying right now. Could the beast take on both these idiots and actually win? I hope something happens.

Sting showed up. Sting is cool and all, but I haven’t seen him wrestle in a while, and he’s closer to 60 than he is any other age at this point. Triple H vs Sting at mania? I would see it, it could happen, who knows how well it may work out. Sting’s presence got the crowd to go insane.

Daniel Bryan looks weak. He fought a good fight, but every time I see him wrestle I cringe.

The old guys beating up the ascension was definitely terrible. I didn’t like the notion of burying the young guys with all the older guys, but that’s just my take on it.

Ric Flair is amazing on the mic, even when getting knocked out, it’s awesome.

Roman Reigns sucks. Big Show sucks.

Who will win the Rumble?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say, BRAY WYATT.

I miss Raven’s flock. I’m done for now, I’ll see about reviewing or discussing, ranting, or raving about Smackdown. I don’t know.

Overall, Raw wasn’t a great show, and most people will agree. I can’t wait for the Rumble, however, as we’ll finally get a good deal of wrestling. I wish I could be there live, but you know, money and what not.

CM Punk vs. Undertaker Wrestlemania 30 Confirmed

The news right now is that CM PUNK has left the WWE.

If he has in fact left, could it be that he is going to wrestle Undertaker one more time at Mania?

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in that way. Punk isn't gone, he may have gone home but that's only because The Undertaker is coming back.

It will be Punk going after the streak 1 more time. Why not Lesnar? Because Punk vs Taker 2 could be the show stealer that everyone is not expecting or talking about.

Last year I was way off with Sting vs. Undertaker.

This year, Sting has reportedly signed with wwe.

Well, here it is, I'm going to lay it out yet again and go bold with my prediction.

The Wrestlemania 27 Guest Host Is

stingwwe

There are millions of internet fans talking right now about who the Wrestlemania 27 guest host will be, and you know what the most likely scenario is?

Neither do I.

But I have a few guesses, and so do you. Consider these among some of the top names getting considered by internet WWE fans like me and yourself:

Justin Bieber - What the heck? Would WWE really sink money into this guy? I guess he's a mega celebrity and I for one have seen him show up on a lot of television shows including SNL, The Daily Show, and much more. News outlets are even plugging his new movie, he's an icon already, and I just saw that he's in good with Will Smith to star in a new movie with his kids.

Shawn Michaels - The Heartbreak Kid could be the guy, as he's being touted as the main guy in the Hall of Fame this year, and why wouldn't the WWE use him for more? I for one would not consider him a draw for Wrestlemania, and I don't care if he's in the Hall of Fame or not. Yeah, I said it. He might be the man, but he retired, I don't need to see him on ppv.

Stone Cold Steve Austin - Could the Rattlesnake come out and stun the viper? I would love to see that, in fact, I'd pay good money to see Stone Cold bury everyone like Triple H used to. Will he come back as guest host? Why not? I'd like it.

Rowdy Roddy Piper - I remember when Wrestlemania had Piper's Pit and how awesome it was in ring. Could he come back to host? Yes! He's really good on the mic and it could work to hear him talk his way through a Wrestlemania.

Kevin Nash - Could Diesel be back as a guest host? Maybe. I wouldn't mind seeing him, but I don't think he possesses enough mic skills for that type of role. I just don't think it is going to happen.

Sting - Sting? Really? He's not an amazing mic worker, but I guess as the host, he could be on commentary and chime in every now and again, but this is not the role I'd like to see him in. Everyone wants to see him against Undertaker.

The Macho Man Randy Savage - I'd love to See the Macho Man as the hype man at Mania, but I doubt that the new generation of fans are really going to care, and I highly doubt that the WWE would spend money to have Randy Savage cut promos and talk his way through mania.

Jim Ross - Not only would I love to see JR come back to Wrestlemania, I'd love to see him as guest host and announcer! Why not? Let's get a ppv draw like that, and put Cole in a match with lawler, freeing up the booth for Jim Ross and Booker T.

The biggest name going around and the one that seems to be it is:

THE ROCK

That's right, the most electrifying man in Sports Entertainment is being touted as the next guest host, and I'm going to throw my pick into the hat. Yes, I think it's going to be the Rock, and I think he's going to do a lot of talking. I'd love to see him as a guest referee too, and cost someone the title with the Rock Bottom.

Sting Is Big News

sting vs taker
**Note Not Sure Who Made The Image

The biggest news coming out of all the wrestling media websites has been this idea that Sting is going to face off with the Undertaker. I for one, and hoping that the WWE does in fact sign Sting and just pays him a bus load of money to fight Taker. I believe that both of these wrestlers can put on a good overall match, even if it's the final Sting match. Sting is 51, Taker is in his late 40's and neither man is getting any younger. I think that the two could put together a string of moves to mystify the audience, and eventually Sting could end in the WWE, buried by Taker, only to retire.

What good could come of Sting signing with WWE, even if he's buried by Taker?

Well, just as a matter of speculation, I'm sure 90% of the WWE audience would love to see a full Sting dvd set. I personally would love to see a 3 disc set with a FULL documentary of his wrestling career from AWA, WCW, and even a partnership for TNA. Since WWE owns all the archives, I would love to see the matches that Sting has had in the past. They aren't all half bad either, and it would rock hard.

Being buried by Taker can't help the Stinger, but Sting is older and doesn't need a full run in the wrestling scene, and that's just my opinion.

I noted that Sting signed to WWE, and it appears that the rest of the internet world (like me) wanted it to happen, but as of late, it sounds like a fantasy.

We'll have to wait and see.

Rare Wrestling Finds: WWE New World Order NWO Dvd

nwo dvd

This is one of those wrestling dvd's that many people thought would be in print forever, but nope. It ended up going out of print and now costs a fortune. If you're lucky you can find a good quality one for cheap, but for the rest of us, you have to pay premium.

WWE's NEW WORLD ORDER dvd contains a full 90 minute documentary about the most succesful wrestling angle of all time. It dives into the Nitro vs Raw wars and how the whole thing came to be and how great it was for the old WCW brand.

Alongside the documentary it has the following matches:

Scott Hall & Kevin Nash vs Sting, Randy Savage & Lex Luger (Bash At THe Beach 1996)

Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan and NWO STing vs Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Ric Flair & Sting (War Games Cage Match - Fall Brawl 1996)

Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg (Starrcade 1998)

Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall vs. The Rock & Stone Cold Steve Austin (Monday Night Raw 2002)

This is NOT the definitive work on the group, but produced by WWE, isn't half bad. I liked it, and recommend it. Check out WWE NEW WORLD ORDER on DVD here. The prices range from $30 - $129.99

Rare Wrestling Finds: Halloween Havoc 89 VHS

halloween havoc 1989

This week's rare wrestling find has me looking through amazon to search for a good copy of WCW Halloween Havoc 1989 on vhs. This was never released on dvd, and it is relatively rare. I know a lot of people didn't watch WCW because it was not WWF or WWE, but the late 80's and mid 90's stuff was awesome. I promise it's worth the investment.

The matches that occurred at Halloween Havoc 1989 live from the Philadelphia Civic Center featured many old stars, including:

Tom Zenk defeated Mike Rotunda

The Samoan Swat Team (Samu, Fatu and The Samoan Savage) defeated The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) and Steve Williams (with Jim Cornette)

Tommy Rich defeated The Cuban Assassin

The Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin and Michael Hayes) defeated The Dynamic Dudes (Shane Douglas and Johnny Ace) (with Jim Cornette)

Doom (Ron Simmons and Butch Reed) (with Woman) defeated The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott)

Lex Luger defeated Brian Pillman

The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) (with Paul Ellering) defeated The Skyscrapers (Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey) (with Teddy Long)

Ric Flair and Sting (with Ole Anderson) defeated The Great Muta and Terry Funk (with Gary Hart) (with Bruno Sammartino as special guest referee) in a Thunderdome match

TNA Bound For Glory 2010 Results and Review

TNA Bound For Glory 2010 Results

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Generation ME
Tara won a four way match to win the Knockouts Championship
Ink Inc defeated Orlando Jordan and Erik Young
Jay Lethal defeated Douglas WIlliams
Rob Van Dam defeated Abyss in a Monster's Ball Match
Kevin Nash, Sting & The Pope defeated Samoa Joe & Jeff Jarrett
Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle and Ken Anderson to win the TNA Title

TNA Bound For Glory 2010 Review

I'm late on this review because I was busy trying to get a job all weekend. So far, no good. 13 months, jobless...I don't like blaming the recession, but this is getting ridiculous.

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Generation ME

The opener featured two teams that had been itching to face each other for quite sometimes. This match had high-spot after high-spot, and it just kept going. Generation Me kept hitting some tandem movies, and nothing was more amazing than Jeremy's 450 splash off the top with his brother holding one of the Machine Guns, it was insane. My only complaint about these high spots is that they never seem to have any major effect on anyone. That's my only complaint, because other than that, this match was just a fast paced, no psychology type match that featured so much tandem action, that it didn't even need a referee, because no one was tagging in and out at times. The Motor City Machine Guns win this one, and what a 20 minute match up, it had every spot you could possibly have in a cruiserweight match, and it really got the crowd going nuts. I don't like spot fests, but they are sure entertaining, that's for sure. There's just no reason to have so much action and have little to no payoffs...it's just stupid. It was entertaining, don't get me wrong, it's just not very "cerebral" I guess....not a 4 star classic, but not a terrible match.

Tara won a four way match to win the Knockouts Championship

One of the worst matches in women's wrestling history was this four way. It was seriously the worst match I've ever seen. The best part was after the match when Mickie James clobbered Madison Rayne.

The Knockouts are the WORST wrestlers in history, this match sucked beyond compare, seriously, the worst, I can't believe this piece of crap match.

Erik Young is an idiot...I hope he gets fired.

Ink Inc defeated Orlando Jordan and Erik Young

Erik Young cost his team the match when he got in and beat up Orlando Jordan. This was a comedic match with NO real purpose other than to be stupid. This was the dumbest match I've seen in a long time, worst than the Knockouts! This is just stupid, and I"m sick of this terrible booking.

Jay Lethal defeated Douglas WIlliams

Even though lots of time was spent on Jay Lethal, no one cares about him nor Williams in a match. It was stupid to say the least. Sure there were some nice moments, and Lethal can wrestle, but NO ONE CARES about this because it's never on tv and it's never really pushed. TNA has things so backwards, that by the time Lethal won this match, I was ready for a coffee break. I'm sick of this lousy booking, and random matches...Lethal can go, I'll give him credit, but I just didn't care for this match because I didn't see it coming at all, and I review TNA Impact every week, so it shouldn't surprise me should it?

SHORE beat up Jay Lethal. He wants the X-Division TItle. I'll take it...Shore isn't half bad. THis could be the best villain that TNA has created in a long time.

Rob Van Dam defeated Abyss in a Monster's Ball Match

The worst Monster's Ball match I've ever seen. This is the worst Van Dam match I've seen, and I've seen RVD put on some stinkers. Not only did this match suck, it didn't have nearly the impact that you would expect from these matches. Abyss eventually turned into an idiot, and lost. I don't know what to tell you guys about this one. It was just a stupid hardcore match that didn't even go anywhere. There were a few broken boards or something, but seriously? This was the poorest excuse for a hardcore match I've ever seen...seriously, worst hardcore match ever. I said it.

Who Kidnapped Samoa Joe? If Van Dam nearly died, why does he win so easily? Ugh...what a boring ass match. RVD and Abyss put on a terd of a match, sorry.

Kevin Nash, Sting & The Pope defeated Samoa Joe & Jeff Jarrett

Samoa Joe worked on three guys and managed to hold his own for the most part. He was basically winning at all points of this match up, and it was interesting to see Joe having to fight for his life. He was going to get the hot tag, getting Double J into this thing, but Double J left him. He then got beat down by three men, and yet there was no dq? Yeah. Samoa JOe got killed by the three monsters, and fromw hat I hear, Nash is done with TNA.

The match was stupid. Joe was left out cold in the middle of the ring. I'm so tired of lame booking. Terrible terrible match.

EV2.0 defeated Fortune in a Lethal Lockdown Match

This match was insane. It was terribly booked, it was crowded, it was stupid. There was blood, there were high spots, broken tables, fighting on the top of the cage, inside the cage, and on the floor. It was like a Bunkhouse Stampede match, only it was terrible. It was slow moving, and just didn't really do much for me.

Did I mention I still don't know who "THEY" are, and I still don't know what the big surprise for TNA was, or what would change things? This thing was stupid, to say the least. This ppv up to this point was just terrible, seriously, it was just terrible, so much wasted hype.

Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle and Ken Anderson to win the TNA Title

The main event is what you'd expect from TNA. The three men really went toe to toe with each other, and there were a lot of close calls, tandem moves, and even triple moves at some points. I thought Hardy had this thing sewn up several times, and Angle looked to have won this match at several stages too, but for whatever reasons, it just wasn't meant to be for each man. Eventually, the match broke down and it was just Angle and ANderson left in ring, and after the REF took a major bump, this thing looked to be doing terrible.

Bischoff ran down to the ring with a steel chair and was going to knock someone out, but out came Hogan with crutches! Then Hogan and Bischoff were going to fight, but Hardy turned and hit Angle! Hardy turns HEEL! HOgan and Bischoff were supposed to be in on it too? Hardy hits ANderson too. Hardy then pins ANderson and wins the match. Yep. Hardy turns heel, Bischoff and Hogan turn heel too, and we have a new champion.

Screw job finish. No major surprise.

FIRE ALL TNA WRITERS, FIRE RUSSO, ugh...why do I still watch wrestling? I wish I had a life or a job...something...anything.

Double J and Abyss come down and I guess this is they? I'm sick of this bs...ugh...what a terrible night of wrestling. If you paid for this, ask for your money back, this was stupid. STUPID. UGH. I'm so sick of wrestling....of this stupidity. TNA sucks so bad!

RVD ran down and of course he got a beat down. Worst TNA ppv ever!?!?! Yeah...pretty close.

What about the ranking system?

Who kidnapped Joe?

Nash is done with TNA?

Angle didn't win, so he's retiring?

I'm done folks...ugh...what a terrible ppv.

TNA Impact 9/2/10 Results and Review

TNA Impact 9/2/10 Results

Madison Rayne & Motorcycle Woman defeated The Beautiful People
Stevie Richards defeated Abyss
Fortune defeated EV2.0 in an elimination tag match
Sting defeated Jeff Jarrett
THe Pope & Anderson defeated Kurt Angle & Jeff Hardy

TNA Impact 9/2/10 Review

Hogan and Bischoff came out and out came the four guys that are left in the tournament and how they are going to be fighting against each other and what not....I don't care. Abyss came out and got in everyone's face and was fought off by Hardy and then commercial break....

Madison Rayne & Motorcycle Woman defeated The Beautiful People

This match was just a lot of botches and random moves. I didn't really like it. These women can not wrestle! I got really bored, but there is something intriguing left in this duo. The fact that no one knows the identity of the Motorcycle Woman....until....

NOW!

The motorcycle woman is TARA! Yep. We all knew, but the dumb fans didn't. So there.

Stevie Richards defeated Abyss

This match was terrible. Stevie Richards beat Abyss, and afterwards Abyss beat him up, but in the back EV 2 and Fortune was getting into it. This was stupid. I don't care about either competitor.

Sting defeated Jeff Jarrett

This match completely sucked. Sting won after Nash interfered. This was seriously the biggest waste of time. This was just completely stupid, seriously, completed stupid. Worst match I've seen on Impact in a long time.

But I'm sure the idiots at smartwrestlingfan podcast will just say "it's just wrestling it doesn't need to make sense" well FU guys. This was stupid.

Post match Samoa Joe came out and saved Double J...it was stupid.

London Brawling and The Motor City Machine Guns starteed their feud...I didn't care.

The Brian Kendrick joins EV2.0 ? Yeah I guess.

Fortune defeated EV2.0 in an elimination tag match

Not a terrible match, but it wasn't half bad either. I liked that there was time given to this match up, and how it all meshed together. The ending was a bit obvious, but overall, I didn't hate this. Although, this match should've been saved for a ppv, but then again? TNA needs everything they can get for their Thursday programs. The final 2 guys were Tommy Dreamer and Aj Styles and it was Styles cheating and hitting the pele kick that got him the big win.

THe Pope & Anderson defeated Kurt Angle & Jeff Hardy

This match seemed short, and there were a few spots, but the most telling thing was that no one was really sweating. That's because this match was barely a match. The interesting thing was that Anderson hit the MIC CHECK and Pope stole the pinfall win. Hardy and Angle didn't work well together, and that was that.

Post match Anderson and The Pope took each other out.

Meanwhile, Hardy and Angle started arguing and fighting each other as well.

So all four men were fighting each other, and these are the four contenders that will try to get a TNA title shot...I don't care for either of them...maybe the Pope. Maybe.

TNA Slammiversary 2010 Results

TNA Slammiversary 2010 Results

I didn't watch TNA Slammiversary because I knew it was going to suck..and by all accounts that I read online, it sure did.

Here are the TNA Slammiversary 2010 Results:

Kurt Angle defeated Kaz
Doug Williams defeated Brian Kendrick
Madison Rayne defeated Roxxi

Tommy Dreamer is NOW in TNA, The Wrestling World has changed for the better?

Jesse Neal defeated Bubba Ray Dudley
Matt Morgan defeated Hernandez by DQ
Abyss defeated Desmond Wolfe
Jjay Lethal defeated Aj Styles
Jeff Hardy & Mr Anderson defeated Beer Money

TNA Impact 6/10/10 Review

Aj Styles came out with most of the Ric Flair crew and started mouthing off about random crap. Then him and Kaz started to argue about things, and that prompted Jay Lethal to come out dressed like Ric Flair doing his parody thing again.

Lethal then said he put together a team to face Flair's crew. This was funny at first, but overall, it was just long and pointless to me.

Lethal, Anderson and Abyss fought the whole Flair crew...that was the opening.

Kendrick started to cut a promo backstage and was like the old Raven interviews, he was just randomly speaking...it was weird. Honestly, it was like Raven lite.

Brian Kendrick defeated Homicide

First of all Homicide is wearing some weird trunks and it was stupid. Homicide and Kendrick could've put on a four star match, but instead, this thing was just a waste of time. Seriously, this thing was oen of the worst x-division matches I've seen in a long time.

Meanwhile, backstage Jesse Neal and Bubba Ray Dudley were fighting.

Bubba Ray got called out by Neal and the two faced off in the ring, and it led to a near brawl. It was lame.

Backstage Sting was killing Jeff Jarrett again. He apparently ripped Double J's shoulder? Whatever. Jarrett sucks, Sting sucks, and this is just stupid. Jarrett was taken away in an ambulance.

Matt Morgan came out and was ready for a tag team match, and out came Super Mex! Matt Morgan was completely beat down and put on a stretcher before the tag match. Hernandez just left, and out came the band.

The Band was scheduled to wrestle Matt Morgan & Hernandez but instead was laid out and that was that.

The Band defeated Matt Morgan

The Band came out and pinned a dead Matt Morgan. This was stupid, these guys get paid to do nothing! What the heck? I want to get paid to do nothing. What a terrible match, it was a non match, this is seriously one of the worst impact shows ever!

Backstage, Sting beat up RVD and just choked him out for no apparent reason. Sting stole the belt and that was that.

Kurt Angle defeated Amazing Red

This was by far the best match I've seen in TNA in a long time. Amazing Red was fighting fast, and Angle was getting punished with some high spots. Angle hit a few counters, but he was definitely giving Red some breathing room to showcase his talent. Red hung in there quite well against a much bigger Angle. Angle was nearly put away with several instances of Red's offense but after rolling away from one of the finishers from Red, and hitting the Angle Slam, Red lost.

Honestly, this was the funnest match I've seen in a long time. Angle and Red put on one hell of a television match and it was amazing to see.

Sting cut a weird promo, just like Raven. He sucks.

TNA put in a weird promo where they said they are growing and they have been expanding by leaps and bounds. REALLY TNA? REALLY? That's why they failed on Monday nights? That's why they are pulling .9 ratings on thursdays? Whatever.

Beer Money, Aj Styles, and Desmond Wolfe defeated Abyss, Anderson, Lethal, and Hardy

This eight man tag was just a “WWE” lite main event. I hate eight man tags from guys I don't care about. The teams worked ok together, I guess, but come on, this was not fun to watch. It was given a little bit of time, and it wasn't a complete waste, but it was far from something I wanted to see, let alone write about. I do give TNA credit, it was given a lot of time to run through. It ended up being all finishers at the end, which was ok I guess. I don't know who the legal person was as the ref let everyone just run in and do their finishers. I'm sick of hearing Tenay say “goozle”!

Desmond Wolfe got Chelsea to throw in a chair, and Abyss punched it...what a terrible move...Lethal jumped in and got hit with the Styles Clash for the win. This match was ok at best....no, it was a little less than ok. The bad guys won in the end, and that was it.

Backstage Sting beat up RVD and it spilled into the ring, where RVD set up Sting to take some offense. I guess this sets up their match on Sunday, but once again, I ask, who cares? Sting and RVD set up a good little piece, but still, Sting sucks.

Was it me or were the Knockouts non-existent on this show?

Oh well.
