ECW on Scifi 6/23/09 Review

ECW opens up yet again to a silent no commentators crowd shot, then in came in some random idiot…right Todd Grisham.

Evan Bourne defeated Tyson Kidd

I’m not sure why the Wwe gave this singles match away for free. This thing had serious ppv quality written all over it, at least in theory. The match wasn’t half bad, Evan Bourne had his mid section taped and was favoring it. Kidd also focused on the hurt ribs, which was interesting. This thing started to pick up, Tyson Kidd somehow pulled it off, winning this one. This wasn’t the first time these two met, which was weird. Bourne isn’t doing so great in mixing up his matches, they are starting to feel too predictable, and just like Rey Mysterio, he needs a better opponent.

Finlay defeated Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder fought Finlay in a good amount of time, he had a lot of offense in for being a glorified jobber. Finlay turned things around, as you would expect, and eventually put this one away. Ryder can’t possibly be getting much more of a push, he’s going to get buried and fired, might as well wish him his best on future endeavors….aka TNA.

Jack Swagger & Mark Henry defeated Christian & Tommy Dreamer

This tag team match seemed tacked on at the end. Sure it involves all the main event guys, but it just wasn’t worth while. The match had a few moments, but it’s painfully obvious to me that Dreamer isn’t really capable of carrying a match alone, therefore all four guys were making up for it. Christian had a few high spots, to create a better match up, but it just seemed like we saw this before, several times. Jack Swagger got the gut wrench powerbomb, and got another clean pin over Christian!

ECW was too fast, and I was too tired.
