TNA Impact 6/18/09 Review

The show opened up with Foley inviting Double J to the ring for a nice party atmosphere. Then out came a lot of wrestlers and it turned into a melee. Daffney is hot to me…sorry…she’s hot to me. Raven rules, RAVEN! He’s back! He’s so back! RAVEN!!! RAVEN! Oh the beginning of tna sucked, it made no sense.

Christopher Daniels defeated The Amazing Red

The Amazing Red was putting on a great show. The flying reverse Russian leg sweep was stellar. Daniels also put on some amazing counters into place, and just reminded me why I like him so much. The Best Moonsault Ever beat Red’s fast paced offense and wow, this match was short, but it had some great moments.

Matt Morgan came out and yelled at Sting. He was rambling, and you know what? Who cares about Matt Morgan! Lame. Sting ended up throwing out Matt Morgan to the floor, in a classic move.

Raven defeated Jethro “The Outlaw” Holiday in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match

Jethro is Trevor Murdoch, just fyi. This Clockwork Orange House of Fun match was basically a halfway hardcore match up. I didn’t mind it that much, and I personally enjoy these types of matches. Who am I kidding? I love Raven and now that he seems to be a little lighter than the last time he was an active wrestler, I think he’s back to his former glory. Raven through Jethro through a side of the ring, with a cage on it and he went flying through to the floor, and Raven pinned him to win this match. It ended bad, but the overall match wasn’t terrible. It had its moments, although short lived. I hope Raven is recruiting for a new incarnation of Raven’s Nest or Raven’s Flock.

Samoa Joe says he’s being adviced…but by who? Kennedy! Na, I don’t know.

Awesome Kong & Taylor Wilde defeated Daffney & Angelina Love

This match was more than a divas match, the women of TNA really had some good wrestling style. The match ended fast though with Awesome Kong hitting the Implant Buster on Daffney to win the match. I like the TNA Knockouts 100 times more than I do the wwe divas. These women hit harder and actually can wrestle, I’m always impressed with TNA and the amount of time they give these women at times. I like them. You might too.

Tara and Awesome Kong stared each other down, and I for one am excited to see them wrestle each other, though tonight wasn’t the night.

Team 3-D & Beer Money defeated Lethal Consequences & The Motor City Machine Guns

I’m assuming this was a fourway match? I don’t know, it had a hard time starting. Suicide ran in and took out the Motor City Machine Guns and ran away. The match finally started and it was a big melee inside the ring. Team 3-D was cleaning up with the greatest of ease, getting the best of all the tag teams, as if they were Triple H holding down the roster. They win this match in less than 4 minutes. So it was an 8 man tag? I guess….this match sucked.

Samoa Joe & Aj Styles defeated Kurt Angle & Sting and Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett

This match had roughly 14 minutes to finish off. The match was ok at best, it had a lot of mat wrestling with no one really getting the upper hand overall. Mid match Foley abandoned Jeff Jarrett to join the announce team, and it seemed like Foley was punishing Double J, even though he was paying lip service. When we returned from break Jarrett was getting worked, and Foley was still outside at the announce tables. Samoa Joe’s powerbomb on Kurt Angle into Sting’s back look brutal. Meanwhile Double J went out of the ring and hit Foley with a steel chair. In ring Samoa Joe was cleaning house! Joe hit a sweet Muscle Buster and the match was done, just like that.

Tna was a mixed bag this week. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t necessarily bad.

  1. Why apologize for being attracted to Daffney? After all, crazy people have no logic... they do what they do, they say what they say and the like what they like. ;)

Put it this way... I was just trying to find out about smaller promotions, and I discovered a place that has a Daffney Online Store as a part of their overall site design, so clearly, you are not alone.
