WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/22/10 Results and Review Big Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/22/10 Results

Finlay defeated Batista by dq
John Morrison & R Truth defeated Drew McIntyre & Chris Jericho
Matt Hardy & The Great Khali defeated The Hart Dynasty
Cryme Tyme vs Mike Knox & Charlie Haas no contest

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 1/22/10 Review

Batista came out, and he is looking jacked. I don’t think he’s been this jacked in a long time. He’s obviously on the juice, there’s just no way he can’t be. I could be wrong, but he’s completely jacked, and looking huge.

Finlay defeated Batista by dq

Finlay loos like a grown up “Bobby Hill” from King of the Hill, at least on my tv. I have no high-def, in case you were wondering. My tv is so old, it’s got a wooden frame around it. Yeah, I’m broke and poor…sorry.

Finlay started this match fast, he was taking it to Batista, and Batista was definitely off his game early in the match, which was odd for me. This match was very short lived because once Finlay and Batista got outside it was thrown out by the referee. Finlay was dismantled on the outside with Batista throwing Finlay into the steps, the pole, and the announce table. He was just in street fight mode, which was hilarious to me. A wasted match, if you ask me.

Batista continued to beat up Finlay, and got on the mic and said he was going to win the Rumble. I highly doubt it, Batista winning? Na.

Punk and Luke came out to do another promo and it was great. He just keeps getting better on the mic, despite the similar promo’s he’s cutting on a daily basis. Cm Punk was interrupted by a woman fan, which was interesting to say the least. It might have been a plant, I don’t know. Either way, Punk once again saves another fan? They should use these segments to build Punk’s stable. Just like WCW did in the late 90’s with RAVEN! Raven started gaining a flock by beating his opponents and then recruiting them into the flock, or have we already forgotten?

These segments take a lot longer than I thought, and it’s just overkill, if you think about it. Punk shaves this girl’s head, and it’s weird. Punk is getting very creepy and that’s good, but these segments are taking a lot of valuable wrestling time, if you ask me.

John Morrison & R Truth defeated Drew McIntyre & Chris Jericho

This was originally a handicap match set to punish Morrison, but Teddy Long turned it into a tag match. I would’ve preferred the handicap match, that would’ve been interesting, but hey, Truth isn’t half bad sometimes, so I guess we’ll get a tag team match up afterall.

This match wasn’t half bad, it had some good overall action. Morrison was isolated for a good part of the match, and there were some good moments with him coming back with some quick tags by Jericho and McIntyre. R Truth got the hot tag and cleaned house, but Morrison came in and helped out, winning the match overall. This match wasn’t half bad, and I liked it, for what it was.

Layla and McCool threw a piggy james arty of sorts. Maria came out to defend her, and then Mickie James came out to cut a promo as well. This whole thing is boring to me, I’m sorry it’s just stupid overall. I don’t really care about these divas, and their petty promo’s and discussions. These things bore me.

Cryme Tyme vs Mike Knox & Charlie Haas no contest

This match was thrown together late, I’m sure. It never really started as Kane came down and threw everyone over the top rope.

How is Charlie Haas still employed? This was dumb, I guess we’re not getting any wrestling tonight are we?

Matt Hardy & The Great Khali defeated The Hart Dynasty

This match wasn’t much to look at. The match was going fine, starting up nicely but quickly dissolved. Natalya distracted Khali on the outside, but that didn’t help, because Hardy got the win with a roll up. This was so fast, that it was like not having a match at all. The Hart Dynasty have yet to impress me, and that’s a sad notion considering their heritage in wrestling.

Mysterio called out Undertaker, and was attacked afterwords by Batista.

Final Thoughts

For a show that everyone says is better than Raw, this one sure was light on the wrestling and heavy on the talking. So much so that I could just see the Southpark parody about how these shows have little to no actual action. Sadly, this show bored me…except for a few key moments, but it just didn’t seem like the better show, that’s for sure.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/18/09 Results and Review The Punk Era

***NOTE***

Oh yeah, here is another note. The main note is this: I am moving. With my move comes NO cable for a few months. That’s right, I’m moving and I had to shut off the cable for now. I don’t have a lot of money and NO ONE is buying anything so I had to cut my cable. It sucks.

That’s why there wasn’t any updates this week. Next week I’ll try hulu or something or if you know what I should do, let me know.

Otherwise I’ll have just the results and some subtle commentaries, so that’s about it. I’m sorry folks, but I can’t afford cable. Maybe in my new place I can.

Oh and I am not sure if you guys remember but I lose my job too. So I have no job, unemployment has yet to come in and I’m moving out of the state. Yeah, so if I’m slow, please stick around and bare with me, I’m trying really hard to keep this going in these troublesome times for me personally.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/18/09 Results

John Morrison defeated Mike Knox
Melina defeated Michelle McCool
The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme
R Truth vs Charlie Haas No Contest
Batista defeated Chris Jericho

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/18/09 Review

Batista opened up the show, it’s been a while since we’ve seen this guy, that’s for sure. I heard he was on Raw, but I didn’t see raw…as I mentioned above. Batista wasn’t really finished with his little speech before Chris Jericho came out to interrupt him. Jericho just mouthed off as he usually does and he dropped Jericho with a spine buster and walked away. Apparently there is a match scheduled for later tonight.

John Morrison defeated Mike Knox

Overall this match was starting out ok. Mike Knox was definitely a lot slower than John Morrison and it proved to be something that the camera and editing couldn’t hide. As Knox was thrown over the top rope at half speed, I started to yawn. Knox is a terrible big man, and I’m not sure why they keep doing this to us, but whatever, Knox was getting pummeled with ease by Morrison at the break. Of course when we came back from the break Knox was all over Morrison, and we get to see a head lock. Things turned around and Morrison just kept getting better, proving that life is better than ever when Starship Pain was hit! Overall Knox sucked out there and seeing Morrison win wasn’t half bad, that’s for sure.

Melina defeated Michelle McCool

Michelle McCool looked obviously injured. She was half speed most of the time and Melina was lightly going for contact in a lot of different ways. This match was just boring to me, these two can’t wrestle that well. I got bored, you were most likely bored too.

After Teddy Long’s speech, things got terrible…he got into a limo and The Undertaker locked him, rolling down the window and saying…”buckle up Teddy” and moved on.

WHAT THE HELL?

This is the SAME THING THAT HAPPENED EARLIER IN WWF HISTORY! Remember, “BUCKLE UP STEPHANIE!” son of a….wwe really just punched us fans in the nuts, face it.

Punk’s speech was rad…”If you’re not Straightedge Like ME, I’m Better Than You” YES! That’s what a heel needs to be.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme

This match bored me. I haven’t been a fan of the Hart dynasty lately, I’m just not too keen on them. They have talent but without a solid feud, they are just boring to me. Cryme Tyme is ok, but I don’t know…I just had a hard time getting into this match up. This match didn’t get the Canadians going as they fell dead to this suck fest…and yes this match sucked so bad, don’t try to hide it. This match got over well towards the end, Tyson Kidd hit the something or other and that was that. This match bored me.

The Great Khali defeated Kane via dq

Kane hit Khali with a chair, and then beat up the big man more. That’s about it, nothing to see here…I got bored again. Man, Smackdown is going down the toilet so far tonight.

The new R Truth feud is PERFECT! That’s how all feuds should be, just cheap shots after cheap shots.

R Truth vs Charlie Haas No Contest

Charlie Haas is still employed? What in the world? What’s going on here? Truth never came out, his rival came out…way to pull the bait and switch.

Batista defeated Chris Jericho

If you like rest holds, you thought this match was five stars. This match sucked, I don’t know what it was, but the two just didn’t put on a great match here. Jericho tried to make it look good, but man, Batista has some major timing issues, He has ring rust, it’s obvious in this match up. This thing got a little exciting towards the end, but the damage was already done to the senses...this thing was a disaster.Batista won after a batista bomb, as he caught the codebreaker mid air and it was done. I liked how it ended, but man...not that great to me.

smackdown took a fall.

Oh and here is that video...so i didn't get the quote right, but come on...

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Results and Review Night of Champions Preview

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Results

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho
The Great Khali defeated Mike Knox
Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay via countout
Eve Torres defeated Natalya
R Truth defeated Charlie Haas
Rey Mysterio defeated CM Punk via disqualification

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7/24/09 Review

Jeff Hardy got on the mic and said some crap, I wasn’t paying attention, until Chris Jericho’s music hit and he came down. The two squared off in the opening bout.

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho started the match at full speed, but it was Jeff that kept turning things around, not letting Jericho have his way in this match at all and looking like a true champion. Jericho might have taken some hits, but he quickly turned this thing around, being the smarter technician in the ring. The two exchanged close calls, Hardy getting the most crowd involvement, but Jericho wasn’t letting him upstage him. Jericho had counters for a lot of great moments in this match, proving that Jericho should be the Champion that no one can top for a long time. He’s not having to cheat here, he simply has outsmarted Hardy at many moments. Hardy of course wasn’t giving up, so Jericho showed frustration, but given more time Jericho winning would not be too outlandish at all. Of course Jericho’s wit and quickness wasn’t to be the end all as Jericho pinned Jericho and gets the win. A good opening match, and good amount of wrestling for these two, great stuff here, if you missed it, check it out.

The Great Khali defeated Mike Knox

These two big men put on a match, it was passable as such, but nothing worth writing home about. Knox got some offense in with a distraction from Kane, who stood at the ramp watching, but it was Khali that put this one away with ease. Goodbye Mike Knox, and good riddance.

Dolph Ziggler now being walked out by none other than Maria, is not bad, not good either.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Finlay via countout

Wow, I hadn’t remembered Finlay was still active in WWE until he showed up for this match with Dolph Ziggler. If this match had more time I think it would have been a lot better. Ziggler was not dominating, Finlay had this thing well in hand, until it spilled onto the floor where Ziggler was cunning and managed to injure Finlay long enough to get a countout win, and a negative reaction from the crowd.
CM Punk was preaching a straightedge sermon. While I admire straightedge and enjoy the music that came out of the straightedge inception, but in wrestling? As a villain? I don’t know. Punk is sincerely trying to be a villain here, but I can’t hate him for being the way he is…but must force myself to cheer Hardy…No, Must resist…Punk…Punk…Punk.

Hardy came out and Punk left. That made the fans chant Hardy all the more. I didn’t.

Eve Torres defeated Natalya

Natalya was the obvious veteran, Eve was not timing things well and was taking a lot of punishment in ring. I said all that, but somehow, somewhere by some miracle Eve landed a moonsault! Natalya’s Surfboard was epic though, too little though, as Eve hit a moonsault that nearly broke her ankles, and Natalya loses….not sure why.

R Truth defeated Charlie Haas

R Truth came out to nice fan fare, which is much appreciated, I’m sure. He would have to contend with Charlie Haas. Let’s face it, even if Haas threw up the most impressive match ever, it wouldn’t matter because R Truth is going over these days. This match had a good flow, a little back and forth, but right when Haas seemed like he had things going, he lost with Truth going over after a nice Scissor kick, to rival Booker T in his prime. What’s up?!

Rey Mysterio defeated CM Punk via disqualification

These two put on a halfway decent match, with neither one getting the upper hand more so than the other. The equalizer from Punk was throwing Rey Mysterio into a ring post, and of course the WWE cut to commercial. This match had some real flow to it, but the commercial really took me out of the action. Punk hit a sweet tilt o world back breaker that was picture perfect, well placed onto Mysterio’s back. The champ really had Mysterio floored after that, and was working over Mysterio’s arm, a move that many people have focused on in the past. (I recall Dean Malenko’s top priority was Mysterio’s arm in his matches against Rey Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Belt in WCW) Dolph Ziggler showed up to watch the match at ringside, which I knew would play out later on in this match up. Mysterio hit a nice spring board press, but Ziggler decided to jump on the apron, and Punk capitalized with a nice heel kick, only for a two count, and this thing was ready to fall off the rails. Mysterio’s face got plastered with a knee to the face in the corner, and Punk was struggling to get this thing put away, but wasn’t able to get things done fast. Mysterio telegraphed a launch off the ropes and was in GTS position, only to counter and set up the 619! He then hit the splash and this match was over! But Ziggler ran in to break things up, and the match was thrown out…Mysterio wins!

Post match Ziggler gave Mysterio a major beating. Jeff hardy ran down to save Mysterio but that prompted CM Punk to chase down Hardy and hit a GTS to put a final exclamation point on the night!

This night of wrestling wasn’t half bad. I liked it. It had a few moments where I was starting to give up, like the Khali match. However, the opening and closing of the show was worth it. Jericho, Punk, Hardy and Mysterio are doing their thing and I don’t mind it that much. You might disagree though.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Results and Review Pretaped Madness

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Results

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho via countout
Dolph Ziggler defeated The great Khali via disqualification
Melina defeated Alicia Fox
Edge defeated John Morrison
R Truth and Cryme Tyme defeated Ricky Ortiz, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin
Cm Punk defeated Rey Mysterio

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/19/09 Review

The show opened up with an in ring segment with Jeff Hardy. This is lame, Hardy can’t talk on the mic and it was painfully obvious here in this interview. CM Punk was called in to the interview table, and started to talk about how he’s getting blamed for no apparent reason.

Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho via countout

In the front row sat several people in Rey Mysterio masks on. This would come into play later in the match. This match had Jericho controlling the majority of the flow, hitting major spots, and forcing Hardy to win this match with ease, but not until Rey Mysterio hit a nice leg toss from the security railing onto Jericho! But there were 5 people, was it Mysterio? Wasn’t it? Smackdown finally gets some smart writing here. You had to see it, it’s clever, very clever, like when they had 25 stings come down from the rafters at Halloween Havoc 1997. I think it was 1997. This caused Chris Jericho to get counted out and it was all over.

Dolph Ziggler defeated The great Khali via disqualification

Once again the Great Khali fights Ziggler…I’m so tired of seeing these guys wrestle. But I stand by my words that state that Dolph Ziggler has vastly improved since the he first showed up as the Ziggler character. He actually has some great athleticism. Ziggler through a chair at Khali when his back was turned, Khali punched the chair, and Ziggler played dead like Eddie Guerrero used to do. The ref disqualified him and Ziggler wins again. I wasn’t completely bored with this one, although some of you might be.

Melina defeated Alicia Fox

Alicia Fox didn’t stand a chance in this match. It was short and not sweet, Melina sucks and barely carried this match at all. Post match Michelle McCool attacked Melina and I for one was cheering. I am not a big fan of the divas but Michelle McCool is showing some serious intensity, which is cool. She sucks on the mic though, but she has some intensity. Too bad the Knockouts division in TNA is still way better.

Edge defeated John Morrison

The verbal sparring between these two was good. Morrison is gaining ground and if he keeps it up, he might take some face time in the main event away from Hardy, since Hardy is leaving…so I hear. This match was a slow moving match up with not too much to write about, and it seemed that these two were somewhat evenly matched. Edge took some chances in this match and it may have cost him as Morrison was able to get some great offense in as a result. However, Edge also countered as he was the veteran in this match up, but it turned out to be a nice back and forth affair between the two. The second half of this match really went well, Edge looked like he had this thing in the bag but Morrison was able to counter the spear by jumping over edge then hitting a nice spin kick, but it wasn’t enough to put away Edge. Morrison went for the Moonlight Pain but missed and Edge hit a thunderous spear and boom….Morrison was out and it was over.

R Truth and Cryme Tyme defeated Ricky Ortiz, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin

This was just a throwaway match up with poorly constructed spots. It was a terrible match up of sorts, and had a lot of spots but it was fast. It was just a random mash up of guys and of course you knew who was going to win. It wasn’t the world’s greatest jobbers that’s for sure.

A mask vs belt match was announced for the bash ppv.

Cm Punk defeated Rey Mysterio

Mysterio started this match with lots of kicks to CM Punk’s leg. Mysterio however put his guard down a little and Punk was able to turn things more his way, if only for a few moments until Mysterio started hitting more kicks. Punk was favoring his leg as we went into a commercial break. After the break the two competitors were doing quite well, neither one truly had an upper hand at all. Punk was still favoring his leg as he was swept into the 619 position but was able to avoid it but Mysterio pulled a sweet reversal into a pin and a near fall, creating a lot of interest from the crowd at this point. Jericho attacked Rey Mysterio during a point on the outside, and Mysterio was getting counted out swiftly, while Punk was inside, but to no avail for Jericho as Mysterio got back inside and was immediately hit with the GTS and it was all over. CM Punk’s GTS plus Jericho’s interference cost Mysterio this match up. A good overall match up.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/12/09 Results and Review Punk Shows Up

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/12/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler defeated The Great Khali by countout
Michelle McCool & Layla defeated Eva Torres and Melina
John Morrison & R Truth defeated Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin
C.M. Punk defeated Chris Jericho
Edge defeated Jeff Hardy via dq when Cm Punk interfered

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 6/12/09 Review

The show opened up with CM Punk and the new world championship in his hands. He got on the mic and was greeted with a chorus of boos and yeahs…it was mixed. Jeff Hardy came down and he was the face of the night cause people were all for Hardy not punk. Of course Edge came out and started yelling at each other. Hardy fought off Edge, then hit Punk with the Swanton and a Twist of Fate! The crowd went nuts.

You know why I hate these segments?

Because no MATTER WHAT the champion is still the champion; Punk is still champion regardless of Hardy & Edge talking trash. Whatever….

Out came Theodore Long to fix things.

Dolph Ziggler defeated The Great Khali by countout

What in the world? Ziggler put on quite the match here, and he took some nice bumps for Khali too. What in the world is going on with the world where Khali is having half way decent matches with the likes of Dolph Ziggler? This match was not half bad, and I do believe that Ziggler is improving, since he can carry Khali to a watchable match up. I didn’t even mind that it was a countout after the dust was settled. Ziggler impressed me, which is hard to do, so hello…my name is Dolph Ziggler…isn’t bad.

Michelle McCool & Layla defeated Eva Torres and Melina

This match was interesting, because Michelle McCool was on fire. She was working stiff, and she was really showing the other women that she wasn’t a diva, and that she was actually serious about wrestling. This showed throughout, and with the face breaker, it really drove the point home. This was an ok match, a little too quick, but other than that, it was the Michelle McCool match. I kept thinking, man Undertaker is nailing that? Lucky dude.

John Morrison & R Truth defeated Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin

This match had Morrison looking like the new all star, with R Truth playing second fiddle to Morrison’s faster, harder style. Truth had some great moments, and The Moonlight Drive plus Starship Pain made this match look like a million bucks and really pushed Truth and Morrison above jobber status. Speaking of jobbers, Benjamin and Haas have to be some very expensive jobbers, because they aren’t doing much but losing to whomever needs to get a rub to the higher levels of wrestling. That Starship Pain, wow, talk about timing. It makes RVD’s split leg moonsault look like child’s play, seriously.

C.M. Punk defeated Chris Jericho

These two put together a nice match up. I don’t agree with the champion being on before the main event. However, it’s ok afterall, this match was given a little bit more time than usual matches, and these two were great overall. Highlight for me was Punk missing the clothesline and then getting hit with the Lionsault, a nice exchange. Punk kept kicking Jericho and eventually got the GTS for the win on Jericho. This match was four stars folks, I liked it a lot; it could’ve ran further, but it was a good one for Punk!

Edge defeated Jeff Hardy via dq when Cm Punk interfered

I feel that the WWE keeps throwing rematches down at me, and I have no choice but to accept it. Once again, we see Edge and Jeff Hardy wrestle. I’m sick and tired of these guys wrestling, seriously, give me something new; oh well, these two put on a show for those of us that didn’t get the ppv this past weekend. Hardy, despite favoring his side, still managed to pull off some nice near falls with a ddt, and with some high flying offensive moves. Hardy seemed like he had this thing in the bag, but Edge managed to get to the outside, followed by Hardy.

Edge threw Hardy into C.M Punk at ringside, so He ran in and attacked Edge! This caused a DQ and then Hardy ra in and started fighting Punk, then fighting Edge, and this thing turned into a melee! The last man standing after all was done was CM PUNK! Kid looked strong, and I liked it a lot.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/22/09 Results and Review Rematches Galore

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/22/09 Results

John Morrison and Cryme Tyme defeated Shelton Benjamin, Ricky Ortiz, and Charlie Haas
Michelle McCool defeated Gail Kim
C.M. Punk defeated Chris Jericho via Disqualification when Umaga interfered
Dolph Ziggler defeated R. Truth
Jeff Hardy dfeated Edge

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 5/22/09 Review

The show opened up with Edge talking trash about Jeff Hardy and how good he was at Judgment Day. He was out there talking, and out came Theodore Long, who made a rematch for Extreme Rules. Jeff Hardy came out and got a match made somehow against Edge! The winner tonight in the rematch, will get to create the stipulations for their world championship match at Extreme rules later on this month!

John Morrison and Cryme Tyme defeated Shelton Benjamin, Ricky Ortiz, and Charlie Haas

Here we go, the jobbers against…the jobbers? I’m not sure what’s up with this match is or what it was meant to prove. It seemed like the b and c wrestlers were in this match up trying to be cool. Morrison is the only one in this match that is on the way up. The other guys just seemed like they were fulfilling a contract role in the WWE, and that’s why they were in this match. That’s not to take anything away from these guys, but it just seemed cobbled together to force these guys into the public’s eye. As far as the match is concerned, it wasn’t half bad, there were hot tags, there was isolation involved, and it just seemed an odd mix of wrestlers, making obvious mistakes, and trying to bring the crowd into the match, but moreover trying to make John Morrison the better wrestler of the bunch. If you don’t believe me, just watch the closing moments, with John Morrison hitting all his moves and getting top billing from JR for winning this match via pinfall on Charlie Haas.

Alicia fox getting slapped by Melina was stupid.

The number one contender was set to get decided next…I was so over the whole thing…but whatever.

Michelle McCool defeated Gail Kim

Wow, Gail Kim is back in the wwe? Yeah, I know she’s wrestled in the WWE before, but it seems like going into this match, the WWE hasn’t really put their chips on the line with her. It’s almost like they coerced her to jump ship from TNA only to have her job out to the champion and McCool…but the match had just began when I was thinking those thoughts, and I had to wait it out. Alicia Fox tried to interfere and while Kim knocked her away, McCool hit her finisher and it was over. Gail Kim is now just another diva’s jobber, way to ruin your career huh? I don’t blame her, I’d sell out in a second, I’m broke!

C.M. Punk defeated Chris Jericho via Disqualification when Umaga interfered

Well, I didn’t see the match last night, but if it was anything like this one, I’m glad to see that the WWE is letting these smaller dude’s get a fair shake. The match was back and forth with neither man getting the dominant hand, despite the odds shifting in each direction from time to time, as they each countered each other and tried to keep the other down. The counters towards the end were classic, and rolling into the Walls of Jericho was great. However, Grisham said that Jericho won a lot of matches with the Walls, but I beg to differ. When’s the last time he won via submission? Umaga ran down to fight off Punk, causing the dq, and he had a leather strap…I’m sure there will be a leather strap match for the Extreme Rules ppv. I didn’t like the ending, but Jericho is saved a second loss, I guess.

GUESS WHAT! UMAGA CAN SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH! NICE CONTINUITY WWE! THANKS FOR PUNCHING MY BRAIN STEM WITH YOUR STUPID WRITING!

Dolph Ziggler defeated R. Truth

I wasn’t sure where this match was headed since both guys, to me are jobbers; Dolph Ziggler was getting beat up for a good part of this match up. He was getting worked against R Truth but it was Truth that got the raw end of the deal with another embarrassing loss. Is R Truth going to get fired soon too? I don’t know, he’s not getting that title push that he was getting a few months back with Shelton Benjamin, remember that?

Khali chased down Ziggler and he ran away…end of that.

Jeff Hardy dfeated Edge

I’m so sick of WWE repetition. Seriously it’s getting tough to stand. I’ve seen this match so many times, and now I have to see it not only here but also see it at the ppv? Oh, I can’t afford the ppv, so maybe I’ll get to miss it for a change. The match had Edge getting the upper hand towards the end of the match, Hardy was looking defeated and the crowd was getting a little too quiet. That being said, Edge looked as if he had no nagging injuries and was perfect in this match until he leaped off the middle rope into a nicely executed dropkick by Jeff Hardy! Picture perfect indeed, and Hardy started to turn the tables on Edge yet again. The Spear reversal was nice, but I’ve seen it before! Give me something new to work with folks! Come on! The near falls towards the end woke me up from my pouting mood, and it was nice to see that we get a longer match on WWE programming. Hardy hit the Twist of Fate and it looked like he was getting set to win this one with the Swanton Bomb! Edge tried to block it but nope, Edge loses clean but not for the title, so now Hardy will pick the stipulations of the extreme rules match. I’m sure it will be ladder or something stupid like that. I’m tired of seeing these two wrestle, I’m sorry, this is HHH vs The Rock 1997 – 1998 all over again. I’m sick of these two wrestling each other. We’re not in 1988 we are not watching AWA or WCW give us Flair vs Steamboat classics, these are getting tired, I’m getting tired.

So what did Jeff Hardy decide?

Ladder Match...Like I predicted 5 seconds before the answer was given.

WWE Raw 12/29/08 Results and Review HBK Idiot

Instead of getting a match opening this episode of Raw opens up with Rey Mysterio in the ring. He asks for a match with Shawn Michaels, and HBK accepts! However, JBL comes out and tells him that HBK no longer can answer for himself. Amidst Rey Mysterio talking and trying to get HBK to return back to the ring, Mike Knox came out and beats the crap out of him, proving yet again that the WWE hates Rey Mysterio. John Cena comes out to save him, and Knox runs away like a coward.

CM Punk defeated Cody Rhodes

Apparently, if Rhodes didn’t win he’d be out of the new Orton stable that is forming. Cm Punk was really putting on a desperate attempt to win against punk. Punk didn’t look so good. He had his arm taped up, and you could visibly see a bruise on his leg from previous matches where he got hit hard. Cm Punk launched himself head first onto the outside and hit his head really hard on the announce table, which was interesting to say the least. William Regal distracted Punk and Rhodes jumped into the ring for a count out victory. Not exactly the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. But I guess you just have to go with it.

Melina won a divas battle royal

The winner of this match would get a women’s title match. This match was short, and it was basically an over the top rope affair. Melina won after throwing out Mickie James. This match up was boring to say the least, nothing really happened until after the match was over. Melina and Beth Phoenix started fighting on the announce table, which was kind of cool. Beth Phoenix’s biggest fan jumped out of the audience and helped Beth out, but was thrown out by security.

Sim Snuka defeated Charlie “Superfly” Haas

Sim Snuka basically beat the crap out of Haas for coming out dressed as his father Jimmy Snuka. This match was a jobber show, and while Haas did get some minor offense in there, it wasn’t all that great at all. Snuka is better here than when he was part of that greaser gimmick on Smackdown, but not by much. Haas went for the superfly flash but man, Snuka put his knees up and Haas really took a beating, it was bad. He had to have all the wind knocked out of him. Snuka beats Haas yet again.

John Cena, Cryme Tyme, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Kofi Kingston defeated Kane, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison, and Mike Knox

This match started out with such great momentum. Kofi Kingston was putting on a show as usual, and this time he seemed to a have a little more control than usual. He was in there doing all the best high spots, and proving yet again that he very well maybe the next big thing. We then went to commercial, and you could telegraph what would happen on the return. Yep, Rey Mysterio was getting beat up by the monster team, and they were tagging in and out, basically proving my comments that the wwe hates rey mysterio. Mysterio hit the reverse hurricanrana on Morrison and the crowd went nuts! He then tagged in John Cena and the champ started to clean house, and this match just turned into high spot heaven. Cena was hitting anything that moved and for once the crowd was fully behind him. John Cena hit the FU on Mike Knox and then tagged in Rey Mysterio to finish him off! Mysterio hit the splash and it was all over!

Matt Hardy defeated Manu

Manu put in some great effort in this match up. He was giving it his all and Matt Hardy just proved to be too much for the second generation superstar. The match was alright for the most part, Hardy was taking a beating for the most part of this match up, and was on rails to lose this one but Manu got hit with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere and boom; Manu loses this one and is possibly going to get kicked out of Legacy, the new Orton stable.

Jbl defeated Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels

You couldn’t get this match to be any more emotional at the end. This match was good, it had a lot of moments with great position and strategy. I was hoping for Chris Jericho to win, but he was eliminated early on. Orton stuck around towards the end, but didn’t last through an HBK sweet chin music. It came down to JBL and HBK and JBL ordered his employee to lay down, but HBK couldn’t do it. This was full of tense moments and nothing happened, just the two people staring at each other and things were not looking good for the heart break kid. Shawn eventually, after a long drawn out pause, laid down for JBL. The last time I saw someone lay down for anyone was in WCW when Kevin Nash laid down for Hulk Hogan after the one finger of doom, that was classic. Or maybe Hogan laid down again in 2001, I don’t remember all that well, I think it was 2000 actually. Either way, Shawn Michaels couldn’t lay down so he asked for the Clothesline from Hell and JBL obliged with hellacious force knocking our HBK and wins a title shot thanks to HBK basically throwing the match. This was tense folks, I can’t explain it any better, it was very tense.

Overall a good raw, nothing too crazy, and just good overall wrestling, I liked it this week.

WWE Raw 12/9/08 Slammy Awards Review and Results

I didn’t think I’d make it to see this show, but after a quick shower, I’m set to review the next three hours of Raw with full intensity! I’m tired though, and I might miss a few things here and there, who knows what’s up.

We opened the show with the tag team of the year award going to: The Miz & John Morrison

CM Punk defeated John Morrison in an intercontinental championship tournament semi-final

Morrison and Punk wrestled in the latest match up for the Intercontinental Championship tournament. Punk really made things interesting within minutes throwing himself off the middle rope and nearly knocked himself out. Hurricanrana off the top rope was insane! Cm Punk nearly shattered his leg when he landed, but he delivered one hell of a move! I was marking out huge for this match! Punk hit the high knee, but Morrison hit a Russian leg sweep and turned the tide a little bit. Punk was really favoring his leg in this match up, after landing hard from the top rope. Morrison countered the GTS into a roll up, but then immediately walked into a high kick to the head, Punk went for the GTS one more time and hit Morrison with it! Morrison loses to Punk and CM Punk advances in the tournament!

Best finishing maneuver of 2008 slammy award went to: Evan Bourne’s Shooting Star Press

MVC (Charlie Haas) defeated MVP

This was hilarious to say the least. Charlie Haas looked amazing as MVC and he really made it look good, looking exactly like MVP. I thought for sure MVP would win this one, but apparently it wasn’t his night. MVC defeated MVP after MVP missed his running leg kick. This was a short non memorable match. MVP is still on that losing streak, sadly.

The slammy for most extreme moment went to: Jeff Hardy’s dive off the titantron

Chris Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho squared off in this match up, which was interesting. Jericho really looked great against Hardy, even though Hardy was the main fan favorite of this match up. Jericho was ready to win this with the Walls of Jericho, but Hardy kept getting out of it. Jericho managed to hit the Code Breaker and this match was over. Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy clean!

The Slammy for couple of the year went to: Vickie Guerrero and Edge

Finlay defeated Santino

Finlay beat Santino easily. Santino didn’t stand a whole lot in this match up, Finlay looked amazing against him. Santino is still way over, even if he loses and doesn’t do a whole lot of wrestling, which is great in these modern times.

The Slammy for WWE Diva of the year went to: Beth Phoenix

The slammy for OMG moment of year went to: CM Punk for cashing in money in the bank and winning the title

Rey Mysterio defeated Kofi Kingston in an Intercontinental championship semi-final

Kofi Kingston stood out in this match against Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was doing his best to try and combat the onslaught of high flying maneuvers that Kofi is known for, but Kofi also tried to do some technical wrestling, isolating Mysterio’s arm. This match had a lot of counters, and it involved Mysterio and Kofi both missing key drop kicks and other maneuvers that they do. This was incredible, and Rey Mysterio was really moving fast in this match up and eventually beat Kofi Kingston with a back roll up out of nowhere!

The slammy for match of the year went to: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair WM 24

I don’t believe that, that match sucked!

Cody Rhodes, Manu, & Randy Orton defeated Batista & Triple H

I thought this match was dumb. I hate handicap matches where the two good guys are facing three guys. The only good that can come of this is the heels win and gain a hold on their next match up. However, if the good guys win then the bad guys look stupid for not being able to win as a team, which should never happen. There is no way that two regular dudes should beat three guys, but alas, this is pro wrestling after all. The expected spots happened here but after the dust settled from the all out brawl, Randy Orton swooped in and defeated Batista and Triple H! Orton jumps in hits the RKO and it was all over from there.

The Slammy for the most “Damn” moment of the year went to: The Khali Kiss Cam

Dolph Ziggler defeated R. Truth via countout

What in the world? R Truth against Ziggler? Alright, whatever. Ziggler was all over Truth, which is insane! He was doing great work in there for once, and I like his boots, they remind me of The Brain Busters. Truth took a nasty spill in the ring towards the ropes, and he wasn’t’ the same for the rest of the match up, it did look bad, like it knocked the wind out of him. This match was quite impressive, honestly, I was really impressed with how this match went, including Truth’s Irish whip onto Ziggler and Ziggler selling it like Bret Hart! Truth went over the top rope and nearly knocked out Ziggler when hitting him in the face! It looked great, these two really did some work for once. Ziggler hit Truth with a kick to the face and beat the 10 count for the win.

The Slammy for Superstar of the year went to: Chris Jericho

John Cena vs. Edge (no contest)

We saw this match one million times a couple of years back. It seemed like these two wrestled every week and every ppv for at least 6 months or so. Whatever the case is, this match was halfway decent, as the two wrestlers know each other quite well in the ring and out. This match broke down into a melee when Chris Jericho tried to interfere in the match. Cena jumped out and attacked him instead, the bell rang fast, and every main eventer ran down. The last man standing in the ring, once again holding down the roster, was none other than Triple H. Hardy ran the safety railings and BOOOM hit Edge with a huge drop kick. The match, I presume was thrown out, no official winner or loser was announced.

Overall a good night of wrestling, and I personally wouldn’t mind 3 hours of raw each week, but that’s just me. Lots went down on this night, and this weekend is Armageddon! So watch out for that. I’m not 100% sure I’ll return for ECW tomorrow, but I’ll try, if not, I’ll definitely be back for TNA Impact this week! OH and please check out the links on the sidebar and if you’re shopping on amazon, click our banners, it helps me keep getting cable and ppv’s…I’m going broke trying to cover all the wrestling bases, so help out a brotha, please.

WWE Raw 10/27/08 Review and Results

Chris Jericho opened the show, and he looked pissed! Of course we would get fallout from yesterdays ppv…and some epic matches…I hoped…Here is what went down.

Jericho & Batista will fight next week in a Steel Cage match for the world title!

Mike Adamle got a verbal lashing by Randy Orton! Adamle then punched Randy Orton, Orton threatened to quit if Adamle wasn’t fired next week!

This opening wasn’t half bad. I would have preferred wrestling, but something is going to happen between the two. Expect an Orton Adamle match sooner than later, or at least Adamle as ref or enforcer. Adamle really did look mad, and I thought Orton was going to knock him out, but instead he walked away like a wuss. The crowd was insane going with the “You Suck” chant, my personal favorite.

Kofi Kingston & Cm Punk defeated Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes (tag team title match)

Punk and Kingston were working well as a team and the announcers kept stressing that they could win the world tag titles in this match up. They really had team Priceless getting worked. It was a good match overall with Kingston and Punk really working over the champions, and the champs just looked like they didn’t prepare at all for this match up. Kingston and Punk had the crowd squarely behind them as they really tried to work over the champions. We then cut to commercial…and on the return from the break the team of Rhodes and Dibiase were in full control of CM Punk. This was a good part of the match, the tag champs didn’t rely on a lot of rest holds as usual, and really started to put the boots onto Kingston and Punk. They also did a lot of quick tags so that you didn’t get bored and the Crowd was firmly behind the good guys in this match up. It wasn’t boring at all, and we had a few surprise near falls by Kingston who was taking the majority of the punishment near the end of this match up. Punk got the hot tag and things really got exciting. The team then decimated the tag champions and Punk went through his moves and right when Dibiase was to land his move, Punk held onto the ropes and then delivered the GTS for the win! Kofi Kingston and CM Punk are your NEW World Tag Team Champions!

My only problem with this match is that the new champions are a “hot shot” team. This is NOT a tag team it’s simply two singles wrestlers the wwe threw together. I hate when they do this to the titles. Oh well, it was an exciting match up.

Goldust, Roddy Piper, and Honky Tonk Man were doing color commentary for the next match!

Santino vs. Charlie “Glamahaas” Haas (no contest)

Charlie came out dressed as Beth Phoenix, and paid for it as Santino started the match immediately fighting Haas. He then slapped The Honky Tonk man, that prompted the former IC champs to rush the ring, and Santino got hit in the head with a Honky Tonk Man Guitar! The champion was knocked out cold! The match was then thrown out!

Great segment, hilarious! It’s great to see The Honky Tonk man NOT job to Santino!

Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Candice Michelle defeated Layla, Katie Lea, and Jillian Hall

Another boring six man tag match. (I should say woman) This match was predictable and short. I didn’t even enjoy it, as by the time I started to really pay attention to this match up it was over. Who cares about the divas? Not me.

Rey Mysterio defeated Evan Bourne

I can’t believe they gave this away for free. This match seemed to be something that ppv matches are made out of. Mysterio was the one that looked bad in this match, although the two did end up getting into a stale mate of sorts, knowing exactly where the next move was coming from. The two were really challenged and you really didn’t know who was going to take this match. Evan Bourne took control with Mysterio making subtle mistakes and Bourne capitalizing. Mysterio however was right there to block some major offense, and eventually connected with The 619! I thought for sure this thing was over but Evan Bourne went for a rolling pin, but Rey countered for the clean victory! Match of the week already! This match was great, Mysterio really looked impressive against a younger Evan Bourne. This won’t be the last time we see these two wrestle against each other, I’m sure as these guys put together a good looking fast paced cruiserweight match up. WWE should bring back the Cruiserweight championship and put it on Evan Bourne, as he and Mysterio went to work for real!

Post match Kane came out to attack Rey and Bourne jumped in, the two lightweights went to work on Kane and Kane was really taking a beating for once! Mark Henry then came out and the two giants took Mysterio and Bourne and beat the crap out of them. I hate when this happens. I hate that the smaller wrestler always has to wrestle someone three times his size, and then get killed. I am a big fan of David and Goliath style matches, but this is getting ridiculous, I’m sorry, this is just stupid to me.

Batista & Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho & JBL

Batista wrestled both JBL and Jericho in this match and he was doing alright for himself. The champion was holding his own against Jericho mainly, and JBL just watched in the corner as Batista tried to make this match somewhat memorable. Jericho and JBL however made sure that Batista was not going to be 100% next week during his cage match as they really took advantage of the rules in this one and were landing all sorts of stiff shots when the ref was distracted. This match wasn’t too bad, as Batista’s power moves were nice in comparison to the previous match of high spots and in ring acrobatics. Jericho was thrown into the announcers table, as JBL was looking on the outside, and Batista looked great at the break. Of course when the break was over Batista was getting worked again. He looked to be in trouble during this match and rightfully so, as he was taking on two opponents. However, Shawn Michaels came down the ramp and got into this match up. He didn’t do a whole lot, but he helped Batista to get the pin!

Batista & Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho & JBL

Overall, this edition of Raw wasn’t half bad. I liked it. However, there were a lot of dead spots in this night of wrestling. Maybe next week’s 3 hour show will be better. As for other WWE programming, I’m really looking forward to the Smackdown show as it will feature a Casket Match! I can’t wait for that. It’s like 1998 all over again!

Raw Results 9/8/08 and Review

This time around, instead of reviewing each and every segment, I’ll talk about the wrestling, and sprinkle in commentary here and there about segments that I feel are importrant or interesting, so unlike my other reviews which are more like a results and wrap ups, explaining every single segment, this will be more wrestling oriented, as I usually do these reviews in the early mornings and get tired of having to explain each instance. There are already plenty of websites and podcasts that do recaps word for word or event for event, this site wasn’t and isn’t about that.

Jericho is looking good as champion, and I’m glad he finally got the title. Jericho gets booed out of the building, but that’s expected. Adamle presents a great argument midway and we’re going to get Batista and Jericho tonight, and next week we’re going to get C.M. Punk in a steel cage match!

Jericho’s body is pretty banged up, and he’s got bruises that don’t seem to correlate with make up, from what I can tell, but I’m no doctor. The overall tone of the opening was good but it took 20 minutes or so to develop.

Beth Phoenix defeated Mickie James (WWE Women’s Title Match)

Mickie James has gone a long way from being a clone of Trish Stratus and has really come into her own. She didn’t seem to even look nervous, considering that there are hardcore pornographic images of her younger days surfacing on the net. This match is actually worth watching, although not the greatest. If you watch closely there are some missed spots, but they seem to push things through well, and I have to tip my hat to the women’s division for this match up. Back and forth match happened, we had a lot of usual spots, and then the Glamazon drops Mickie James on her head and rolls her up, strong style, for the win. It should be noted that Candice Michelle is on the outside, and she is looking a lot like Victoria these days.

William Regal defeated Jamie Noble

Once again, Jamie Noble stays employed by getting involved with a diva. This is his third match with Regal, and the highlight of this match up was not Noble’s attempt to win, but rather how ferocious William Regal turned out to be. He hasn’t been this heavy hitting since his WCW television title reign. He really turned it up a notch and Noble was nearly knocked out with a knee from Regal right to the temple. Regal isn’t just a mat technician any longer, he’s really trying to be much more, and he proved it by turning Noble’s offense against him completely. Post match, he steals Nobles girl. Very odd storyline, but I guess to the winner goes the spoils, right?

Charlie Haas (dressed and acting like JBL) defeated JBL

I thought that JBL might find a little humor in the way Charlie Haas came out to the ring, but it only fueled the fire. I’m not sure why the WWE is trying to bury Charlie Haas, but they seem to be trying to push him right out the door. Or, consider this for moment: The WWE is taking a page out of TNA’s playbook by having Haas imitate other superstars. Well, not like Jay Lethal and Macho, but similar? No, that’s too far fetched. This match never started, JBL walked out and never came back, Haas gets his first win in a long time.

Rey Mysterio & Evan Bourne defeated Miz & Morrison

Mysterio and Bourne put on a cruiserweight clinic. If you’re a fan of the old WCW cruiserweight division, you’re going to love this match. A lot of near misses, a lot of high flying maneuvers, and an overall greatness that we haven’t seen on Raw or the WWE in a long time. I really enjoyed this match up, and I’m sure you did too, if you saw it. I’m surprised that Mysterio and Bourne were allowed to do so much high flying stuff, and I’m also surprised that the former tag champions bumped like real professionals! This match is going to be hard to top, the four men in this match up really put on a show, and I hope that the WWE allows more of these types of matches to happen. The win came when Mysterio and Bourne hit their finishers back to back on the former champs!

It was announced afterwards that Kane and Mysterio will meet next week, at least in a promo, and we might see the return of Kane’s mask.

Priceless & Manu defeated Cryme Tyme & Kofi Kingston

I was very interested to see Manu in the ring, and boy was I pleasantly surprised. He’s fast, he’s big, and he’s much better than Umaga in my opinion. The tag champs really took it to Cryme Tyme and Kingston, forcing a win with a great helping hand from Manu, who dealt a crushing slam with ease. I thought this match was great, seriously great. For a six man tag, these guys fit a lot into a very short amount of time. Manu was the spotlighted guy in this one though, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Santino defeated Snitsky

Santino squashes Snitsky, in this throwaway match. This was boring, and unfair. But oh well, I like how it continues Santino’s claim to being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all times. I wonder what The Honky Tonk Man thinks about all this? Probably not a whole lot.

Chris Jericho vs. Batista (no contest)

Jericho was definitely not at 100% and Batista took full advantage of that. This match was 90% Batista beating the crap out of Jericho, with no mercy at all.

Midway through this match up, Adamle came out and announced that Jericho would have a tag team partner in a Handicap match, and then introduced JBL!

JBL & Chris Jericho vs. Batista

When JBL joined this match, Batista’s dominance ended. JBL, being fresh, started to put the boots to Batista and things were looking better for Jericho, who claimed to be too hurt to wrestle at 100% JBL hit the clothesline from Hell out of nowhere, and Jericho rushed in for the pin, once again defeating Batista by seemingly accident, and this will probably get a Batista vs. Jericho match up down the line for the world title.

Raw Results 9/8/08

Women's Champion Beth Phoenix def. Mickie James to retain
William Regal def. Jamie Noble
CHL" (Charlie Haas imitating JBL) def. JBL by count-out
Rey Mysterio & Evan Bourne def. The Miz & John Morrison
World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Manu def. Cryme Tyme & Kofi Kingston
Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella def. Snitsky
World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho & JBL def. Batista in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match

Raw went well. There was enough wrestling for the jaded wrestling fan, and there was enough random storylines to fixate upon if you're a big critic. The Evan Bourne and Mysterio tag match was definitely a highlight for me, and I hope that the WWE continues to follow through with those two and other high flyers.

Raw results 9/1/08 and Review Orton’s Return

I’m back from vacation and not a moment too soon, as we got an interesting Raw.

Randy Orton comes out with an arm sling and puts everyone in the back on blast. He says everyone sucks and that the champions on Raw are weak. He then calls out C.M Punk who obliges and comes out to fire back. Orton is gold on the mic, and Punk fires back too, Punk has gotten really good at defending himself against the heels.

Orton stops short of brawling, and decides to leave the ring.

JBL comes out and talks smack, then Kane comes out, and finally Batista comes out and starts to knock people out.

This opening segment wasn’t all that great to me. In fact I didn’t like it that much and didn’t want Orton to arrive just yet. Most likely, Punk is going to lose the title due to interference with Orton.

Kofi Kingston defeated Charlie Haas (Dressed as John Cena)

Everyone thought John Cena was going to come out to wrestle, but nope. It was just Charlie Haas dressed as John Cena, and it was hilarious! I loved last week’s Charlito gimmick, but this feels a bit weird now. I remember when Big Show had this gimmick, and it seemed to work for him, but this isn’t going to work to Charlie Haas at all. Kofi comes out and beats the crap out of Charlie, and the crowd enjoys another quick match up where Haas gets buried. How long before Charlie Haas gets fired? I don’t know, it seems like it’s going to be sooner than later.

The match was quick, and was boring for the most part. I’m already growing tired of Kofi and his spots. We need to give him more competition. Apparently his feud with Burchill is way over, meaning it’s done, and he’s not really chasing the Intercontinental Championship at the moment, so he’s wrestling a jobber…Charlie Haas. Haas has fallen a long way since his days as a part of the world’s greatest tag team with Shelton Benjamin. Kofi wins easily, and I’m tired.

Backstage Adamle Segment:

There was a backstage segment with Teddy Long and Mike Adamle about two matches for later on in the night, and Kane interrupts. This further brings the speculation that Rey Mysterio will not be at Unforgiven, but rather it is going to be Mike Adamle dressed up as Rey Mysterio! You just wait!

ECW Champion Mark Henry defeated Matt Hardy, Finlay, The Miz & Chavo Guerrero in a Battle Royal

If they wanted to make Mark Henry a real monster, this did it for sure. Mark Henry simply dominated the match up. The crowd was over on Hardy and was going crazy, I kid you not, the crowd can not get any louder for a super star right now, and as Mark Henry was starting to lose, he somehow managed to get things back and rolling, winning over the rest of the ECW staff. Mark Henry is not a great wrestler, but he’s proving that he can definitely get things moving.

Jamie Noble defeated William Regal

I’m not sure where this story is going, but Jamie Noble finally wins a match! Yeah, the little guy gets beaten down for the majority of the match up. He basically trashes Noble for 75% of this match and he really just beats the crap out of the smaller opponent. Noble is getting paid to get beaten down week after week, as if he’s Mikey Whipwreck, and yet he lacks the audience participation. Regal loses a match after a roll up, and this is suppose to be a convincing win? This is dumb, and the diva he has with him doesn’t help things for me. Sorry. The match up wasn’t a technical classic by any stretch of the word, but it was interesting to see none the less. Noble has a lot of talent, but it’s really wasted in these matches as he just gets beat down a whole lot.

Candice Michelle, Mickie James & Kelly Kelly defeated WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix, Jillian & Katie Lea Burchill in a Six-Diva Tag Match

The women’s match up was ok. It was just your average match up with tags, and while some of it was definitely great, you can’t help but notice which divas are good in ring and which ones suck. There’s a lot of them that aren’t that great, and I’m not sure when the WWE is going to get more divas in there. In this match up, there are six divas in the ring, and you know what? That’s the whole division isn’t it? Well, it’s a good majority of it, and while these six women have improved since the debut of the diva’s in wwe, I think that this is better than usual. I liked it for what it was, and seeing some of the missteps only made me believe that some of the women genuinely don’t like each other backstage. I liked the match, and enjoyed seeing Candice Michelle come back, although she reminded me a lot of Victoria when she returned after an injury a few years back.

Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella defeated D-Lo Brown in a non-title match

I’m not sure why I thought this was going to be greater. It wasn’t all that great at all. Santino still doesn’t do a lot of wrestling, however his promo was funny, and he’s really a good guy to get beat down. He really took a fast beating and I thought for sure that D-Lo was going to win, but nope, right when I had a glimmer of hope, D-Lo does the job and gets beat clean. D-Lo goes for the frogsplash and misses, only to get Santino defeating D-Lo brown easily.

Cryme Tyme and The Miz & John Morrison wrestled to a no-contest

The first thing I thought when I saw this match up, was that I didn’t like how they were setting this up for failure. Why is Cryme Tyme wrestling Miz and Morrison? They aren’t even on the same program. This match ended before it started, and Dibiase and Rhodes came down to the ring and beat down Cryme Tyme. Of course Miz and Morrison still get paid, but oh well. The tag champions finally look good! Seriously, it’s about time the tag team champions look strong! I think that these guys could be great, if they continue to roll through with this type of mean streak!

Kane defeated World Champion CM Punk, Batista and JBL in a Battle Royal

This was a good ending to what otherwise a lackluster showcase. I really liked how this went through. The main event is not half bad, these wrestlers are definitely a lot better than just having Cena roll over everyone. They finally got Kane to win something! Seriously, it’s about time that Kane got a push, but it was short lived as Rey Mysterio Returned to WWE Raw tonight! The match had it’s moments, I admit it. C.M. Punk was trying to solidify his legacy and Orton was ringside. Punk had the crowd way behind him, it was great. A great spot happened at the end, when Kane caught Punk off the top rope and immediately threw him out of the ring and onto the floor right in front of Randy Orton. Orton and Punk stared each other down, and this is going to get exciting if you ask me. Punk shoved water in Orton's face, and I thought Orton was going to take his sling off and beat down Punk. Instead, like I said earlier, Rey Mysterio Jr. returned to Raw!

Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho Contract Signing:

Has there ever, ever, been a contract signing that didn't end up in a huge melee or fight between the two competitors? I don't ever remember a signing that didn't have major beat downs or fights, or anything break out. However, Jerry Lawler warned the competitors that if anything got physical the match at Unforgiven would be off. Things seemed to be going amicably, and then Jericho got on the mic and said that they didn't need security. Michaels and Jericho dismiss the security, and everyone clears the ringside area, and that's it. No security, just HBK and Chris Jericho. Jericho just lays it on thick and calls out Shawn Michaels, and the tension just gets heavier and heavier. Shawn Michaels then drops the promo of his life, and he gets into Chris Jericho's face!

The two then stand up face to face and I thought for sure it was going to go down right then and there. Lance Cade shows up and gets the living hell beat out of him. I kid you not, Lance Cade gets the living hell beaten out of him by Shawn Michaels.

A good ending to Raw.

The show went well, and I liked most of it, however, it wasn't all that memorable. I liked it for what it was, but I wasn't completely sold on all the matches as the wrestling really lacked luster for a whole lot.

I was reading online and I hear that Shawn Michaels has injured his bicep. That could be a swerve, or it could be real. We'll see what happens right?
