WWE Fires Everyone Again

Today the WWE decided to clean house, and in some cases it's deserved, in others, not so much.

Here's a list of people that will now be joining TNA...er...I mean are fired:

Katie Lea Burchill - Not a shocker.

Shelton Benjamin - amazing, it's all over for the gold standard...maybe he can go do something else.

Mickie James - I'm not surprised, she got fat.

Slam Master J - With no gimmick, nor Cryme Tyme this guy was bound to be done.

Kung Fu Naki - This is long overdue.

Jimmy Wang Yang - Also long overdue.

I wouldn't be surprised if more people got fired, but that's it for now.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Results and Review Batista and Undertaker

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Results

Dolph Ziggler & The Hart Dynasty defeated John Morrison & Cryme Tyme
Beth Phoenix defeated Brittany Carter
Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Wang Yang
Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox
R Truth defeated Cm Punk
Matt Hardy defeated Batista via disqualification

WWE Friday Night Smackdown 11/6/09 Review

The Undertaker started the show with a “dead man” speech. I’m sick of the Undertaker already. I liked it better when he didn’t say a whole lot. The Undertaker states the obvious and he just isn’t as scary.

Chris Jericho came out to talk smack at the Undertaker and cut that random “I’m not scared” promo.

Dolph Ziggler & The Hart Dynasty defeated John Morrison & Cryme Tyme

This match was actually not half bad. Seriously, this match had a lot of things going for it. It mainly had the fast paced feel that a six man tag should have, and it had a lot of quick tags, fast moves, and good overall timing. Ziggler and Morrison aren’t the only ones that can really go in the ring. The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme added a good amount of “flavor” to the match, giving an overall good time. The finish came when Ziggler tagged in blindly and got the pinfall victory. Ziggler is one upping John Morrison, maybe he’s next in line for an intercontinental title reign, and in my view, a little over due.

Rey Mysterio gave some weak interview, it bored me.

Beth Phoenix defeated Brittany Carter

Beth Phoenix squashed another no name woman jobber. I’m not sure why the WWE feels they need to reestablish Beth Phoenix as an unstoppable monster in the women’s division. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. She beat the jobber, and that was that. Maybe Brittany Carter will go to tna now.

Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

What the heck? Jimmy Wang Yang is still employed too? First Jamie Noble and now Jimmy Wang Yang? What the heck! Jimmy Wang Yang got very little offense in, and it was all over. Drew wins again and Jimmy Wang Yang is on his way out, he just has to be.

Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox

Mike Knox beat up Rey Mysterio for most of this match. Seriously, he really pushed the limits on what kind of a beating he could get. It’s an interesting thing overall, because Mike Knox looked like he was winning this thing clean, with the heaviest handed offense I’ve seen in a long time…then it all collapsed. It collapsed and I was frustrated. It’s one thing to have John Cena be superman, but Rey Mysterio is still this super little man? So lame. So lame. This bored me, sorry, I’ve seen way too much Rey Mysterio for one life time.

R Truth defeated Cm Punk

This match really reminded me how slow Cm Punk’s offense has gotten. He has some explosive flurries, but he’s really put on this slow motion, methodical offensive style instead of his fast paced indie style that he used to have while champion and while on ecw. Truth was getting worked for a good part of this match, and Punk really did try to wear him down, but Truth kept pushing and eventually got most of his fast paced moves. Punk started yelling at the referee again, and Truth rolled up Punk for the fast count and the win.

Matt Hardy defeated Batista via disqualification

You know that WWE is odd when the main event features a fat Matt Hardy. Come on, he’s not in his prime right now, and I’m not sure why I can’t get behind a super “tights” wearing Matt Hardy. It was one thing to see him annihilate Edge for screwing Lita…even if it was a work, but this is ridiculous. He’s just not someone I can et behind, even if he’s fighting a very mad Batista. That all being said, Matt Hardy did put up a fight and didn’t just let Batista get the fast win. Hardy put up a lot of defense, and went through some hard hits. Hardy’s short leg drop to Batista’s knee was the highlight for me, he should’ve started the match with that, ala Bret Hart. Hardy’s weight definitely showed when he went or the failed Moonsault…but he managed to hit the Twist of Fate! I liked this match, it was really getting good towards the end, or maybe I was just waking up.

Batista snapped nd got himself disqualified by beating Hardy to within an inch of his life. Oh well.

Smackdown was ok, I’m not really too keen on anything going on right now on either major wwe show. I just don’t care right now. I’m going through the motions, it’s true, it just seems too old to me. I’ll get back into a groove, I’m sure.

WWE Smackdown 1/30/09 Review and Results Why Matt Why

First and foremost I want to apologize to those very few people that came to this site looking for a TNA Impact review. I have family in town and couldn’t get the review done. However, I am back with he first Smackdown after the Royal Rumble right here.

The show opens up with Matt Hardy in ring…to a chorus of BOOOs. I’d boo the crap out of him too, such a terrible turn of events. Hardy says that Jeff is no longer his brother.

Whatever.

R Truth defeated The Kendrick

Brian Kendrick gave Truth a good cheap shot up front, but didn’t win overall. The match was short but not good at all. It was actually just like the last time they fought, only this time Ezekiel Jackson was barred from ringside, so no one cheap shotted him after the match. Standard match for Truth, and Kendrick loses yet again.

MVP defeated Chavo Guerrero

I thought Chavo had this match sewn up with the Frog Splash, but somehow MVP managed to move out of the way in time to get a win! That’s right, MVP wins again! Chavo landed on his stomach and face, and lost yet again.

Umaga defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Yang is still employed? What the hell? This is the worst match ever. Umaga wins, did you really think anything else would happen? This sucks.

The Undertaker defeated Mark Henry

Standard Undertaker, Mark Henry match. Seriously, how many times did we see this match in recent years? Well, Mark Henry fought off the Undertaker for the most part and Undertaker got mad and started beating Mark Henry and eventually made him tap out to the triangle choke hold.

The Big Show defeated Festus

The Big Show beat up Festus in a quick match up, yet again.

Triple H defeated The Great Khali, and Kozlov

Triple H beat the other two guys. I got tired and nearly fell asleep. Nice to see that Triple H is still holding down the roster.

WWE Smackldown 10/31/08 Results and Review

Everyone was excited to hear that there would be a Casket Match on tonight’s Smckdown, however when I heard who would face the Undertaker I was less than thrilled. Yep, tonight we would get none other than Chavo Guerrero against the dead man in the Casket Match! Lame. Jim Ross and Tazz were dressed up for Halloween, it was hilarious!

John Morrison & The Miz defeated Carlito & Primo

I just wanted to say that I hate Non-Title matches, they are stupid and fans that pay to go see these events should get treated to title defenses, if you ask me. I give Morrison a lot of crap, but the guy can go in the ring. Carlito was getting the better of him early on, but Morrison was holding his own in there for a while, and despite his earlier work in WWE, he’s getting a lot better and is looking nearly like a Veteran. The Colon’s once again isolated the ring and worked extremely well, I haven’t seen Carlito so invigorated in the ring since his debut and Intercontinental championship run. Highlight of the match was a double arm drag on Morrison onto a Miz, who was on the outside! Then after the commercial break things looked to have turned around, but it was short lived to say the least, as Carlito and Primo were just working like a solid team. Jim Ross compared Miz and Morrison to Mr. Perfect and Ravishing Rick Rude! That was just stupid. Morrison and Miz put together quite the fight in the last part of this match, and I was finally impressed with how they work as a team. The crowd was firmly behind The Colon brothers in this one, and I was surprised they have gotten so much fan fare in such a short amount of time. Carlito had the match one it seemed, but Miz turned things around, Morrison dropped Carlito, and Miz took advantage, pinning Carlito for the victory. Overall a good match up and a solid opener, The Miz and Morrison really look good as a team and they are really starting to get a push, and will most likely get buried on Monday against Dx.

Jimmy Wang Yang defeated The Brian Kendrick via Disqualification

One of my favorite wrestlers put on another show. He was definitely bringing in shades of Brian Pillman, and was growing frustrated in the early goings of this match as Jimmy Wang Yang was getting the better of him. I though Wang got fired? Whatever, he was putting on quite the show early on, but eventually the tables were turned by Kendrick who put the boots to Yang with some great heavy hitting moves, focusing mainly on the shoulder of Jimmy Wang Yang. Yang turned things around again and looked set to win the match but Ezekiel pulled Kendrick out before he could lose the match. Ezekiel then fought Yang and dropped him like a sack of potatoes and Kendrick then gave him The Kendrick for good measure.

Once again, for the record, The Great Khali kiss cam sucks. Why waste your talent with this? It’s stupid to consider that just a few months back Khali was wrestling Triple H for the world title, and now look at him he’s in midcard hell kissing ugly (no offense) women on his “kiss cam” segment. It’s just stupid, and I hope the WWE starts to change things with Khali, this waste of talent thing is boring me completely.

The Hardy Boyz, and Rey Mysterio defeated Kane, Mvp, and Mark Henry

This match is a perfect example as to why there shouldn’t be any brand separation. There are six guys in there and all of them are on different brands however they are all wrestling on a Smackdown show? Yeah, they should just forget the draft and let it be a free for all, it would make for way more exciting cards.

The match started with Mark Henry dominating, and MVP getting some great offense in for a change. It’s about time that MVP got some offense in, however that wasn’t huge, because Rey Mysterio tagged in and since they were in his Home town, he got in and cleaned house, giving MVP everything but the kitchen sink. Too bad for MVP, he must have done something wrong in WWE cause he’s been on a downward spiral for a long time now. Mysterio nearly wins the match early on with a splash off the top rope onto MVP. This thing was breaking at the seams early on which was awesome! Lots of high spots, lots of quick moves, everyone seemed to be bringing their A game, and then Kane pulled Mysterio out of the ring and onto the floor, and the tables turned towards the bad guy’s favor! However, this was very short, and the good guys all dropped their best moves. Splashes to the outside, Swanton Bombs, Old School Hardy moves, and MVP once again gets pinned on Smackdown and the good guys put on a show for the San Diego crowd (the 619 for those of you from So Cal).

Once again I want to point out that Kizarny SUCKS!

Kozlov and Triple H nearly went to blows in the ring as Kozlov wants a title shot. Triple H said that just like the Rocky movies he would beat up the Russian, and nothing happened. Lame.

Michelle McCool, Maria, and Brie Bella defeated Maryse, Victoria, and Natalya

I don’t like any of these divas. Natalya can wrestle, that’s for sure and Victoria can too, but I never see anything really that good from the Divas division. Not like the beloved TNA Knockout division that has some great wrestling. This is a standard divas match up, and wasn’t really that good. With so much wrestling that the divas actually do a year, you would think they would start to put on better wrestling matches, instead of this same cookie cutter match ups filled with botched moves and horrible endings. Oh well, I guess the WWE will never learn. Maria dove off the top rope and picked up the win over Victoria in one of the worst matches in Smackdown women’s wrestling history.

The Undertaker defeated Chavo Guerrero in a Casket Match

I didn’t expect this match to be very good at all, and while I personally love the old Casket Matches, this just seemed tired somehow. The Undertaker was in clear control of Chavo Guerrero and rightfully so, Chavo hasn’t been relevant to today’s youth for a long time. Every time that Undertaker would try to drop Chavo in, The Big Show would shut the casket lid, and the Undertaker couldn’t throw him in there. That meant that Chavo had to take a lot of punishment for no apparent reason. However, then The Undertaker stormed the ring and started dropping big right hands onto Taker, and I knew where this was going. Remember Royal Rumble 1994? Where a million wrestlers came out and beat up Undertaker to put him into the Casket? I was expecting this to happen. It looked that way, but Big Show ran up the ring and Chavo was eventually thrown into the casket, and it was closed! Undertaker puts away Chavo in this Casket Match for the easy victory and you know what? Why? This is stupid. What a lousy main event, and what a lousy opponent to have Undertaker wrestle. I hated how this all turned out.

Big news!

Kozlov must defeat The Undertaker next week and if he does, he will get Triple H at Survivor Series! NOW THAT’s RELEVANT TO TODAY’S YOUTH!

WWE Smackdown Results 9/26/08 Sleep Time For Me

Vickie

The show opened up with Vickie and Chavo backstage. Chavo says that The Undertaker is coming for her! Big Show shows up and hugs Vickie, and stands guard.

HHH & Jeff Hardy defeated MVP & The Brian Kendrick

This match was fun to watch. Kendrick was flying all over the place, MVP got a lot of shots in, but the good guys were all over them. Triple H and Hardy were doing very well together, and it seemed like they were en route to making a major impact. We leave for commercial break with the good guys winning this match easily, however the commercial break is over and we’re treated to a stellar flurry of offense from The Brian Kendrick. He’s amazing, Kendrick has improved hand over fist and in this match he puts on a show against Hardy and Triple H! Hardy gets the hot tag and starts to really turn things around and I thought for sure it was going to be over, with ease, as he was dropping every move he had! However, Ezekiel gets involved and causes Hardy to drop off the top rope and onto the mat, changing the course of the match up around. MVP and Kendrick had a lot of in and out tags, great team work and I was fully into this match, even though I was really tired and had to make some coffee to wake up and review the show. I couldn’t believe that these guys were kicking off Smackdown, because this was the match of the week! I was all over the place on this match and wasn’t sure who was going to win it, which is a great thing for wrestling fans and about time the wwe does something like this. The ending was well done as Kendrick knocked out Triple H for a while, but Hardy knocked Kendrick outside of the ring, MVP tried to capitalize but Triple H got his bearings back and dropped MVP for the second week in a row with a pedigree for the win! The good guys win in this amazing match up for wwe, which is really surprising for me.

R. Truth punked out Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin looked like he was going to cry! Hilarious!

Maria & Bri Bella defeated Natalya & Victoria

Standard divas match showed up here and I was busy removing price tags on books that I was planning to sell tomorrow. So I was half paying attention to this one. No word yet about the “twins” story line, but the announcers definitely noticed something fishy going on. We also saw Maria get the win with a high cross body off the top rope, which was odd. Natalya and Victoria were pro’s in this one, letting the younger talent shine, even if they weren’t as good at wrestling as they were. I don’t like the divas division and this match was mostly boring, and rightfully so.

Kozlov vs, Khali went to a no contest

I don’t know what was up with this match, but Kozlov was having a hard time toppling the Great Khali. Khali took a huge swing into the ring post and basically rendered himself useless for a good five minutes or so. Triple H came out and challenged Kozlov, then Khali and Kozlov joined forces and were fighting Triple H, but Jeff Hardy came out for the save. It was short lived as the monsters started beating up Hardy, until Triple H came in with a sledgehammer.

What a waste of two guys. I wanted to see these guys go at it, but instead it gets interrupted and we are treated to more stupid run ins. Last I checked this was WWE not TNA, and how crappy is that? Lame.

Chavo Guerrero defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Didn’t they fire Yang? Yang puts in a lot of good offense, only to be thwarted by Guerrero. Chavo was good, and I enjoyed it for the most part. I liked how the match flowed toward Jimmy Wang Yang as if he was going to win, but no one in their right mind was putting money on Yang, right? I sure knew that Chavo was going to go over, but I thought that the Undertaker would be involved somehow. I think that The Undertaker should’ve came in, but I guess last weeks’ ending to Smackdown proved enough of a point to get Chavo free and clear. Yang misses a lot of high spots, and Chavo does some great moves that made me remember Eddie Guerrero, but of course the crowd booed the crap out of him, but alas, Chavo finally wins a match. Too bad it’s at the cost of Jimmy Wang Yang and his lackluster push. Yang is the new Funaki, isn’t he?

The Colons defeated Hawkins and Ryder

Primo and Carlito were shining big in this match as they were working like a well oiled machine, and why wouldn’t they? They are brothers and have been around wrestling with their father since they were very young. The match was initially on the side of the Colon brothers as they were in there with quick tags and tandem moves. Primo is fast, and he can really go if you let him. His high flying offense really makes Carlito’s ground game work really well. I have a good feeling that Primo Colon could put on an amazing match up with the likes of Evan Bourne, and most likely will be down the road. This match had a lot of ast moments, then Ryder or Hawkins would slow things down and isolate one of the brothers, only to prompt another set of quick moves. The ending came when Carlito dropped Ryder with the back cracker after a hot tag and the Colon brothers are the new WWE Tag Team Champions! These two looked great, and the match was ok at best, not quite as good as the opener, but adequate enough to get them the belts and make it look good. The Colon’s didn’t even break a major sweat in this match, which was quite amazing to see. Not the greatest title change I’ve ever seen, but it was good none the less.

The final segment:

The final Segment on Smackdown bored me. I’m not too keen on these storylines, as I believe that Smackdown has a great amount of talent and could put on a legitimate wrestling main event. Instead, we get the Undertaker attacking Vickie Guerrero, and you know what? I don’t really give a crap. I don’t want to see The Undertaker fight The Big Show, The Big Show hasn’t even been relevant in a long time. In fact, didn’t we see the Big Show get pulled away on a casket once?

Yes, and here is the video showing The Big Boss Man and Big Show feud that made me believe that The Big Show Sucks and we don't need to see him wrestle the Undertaker.

WWE Smackdown Review 8/8/2008 Triple H Finally Shows Up

I missed the first ten minutes of Smackdown due to a stop at Jack & The Box after a botched dinner attempt. My wife was making a recipe that called for eggs, but I ate all the eggs, so she tried to sub, and it didn’t work. OH well! Ten minutes isn’t bad right? Hopefully you don’t mind…all 1 of you readers of mine.

Hawkins and Ryder defeated Shannon Moore and Yimmy Wang Yang

First and foremost, they fired Shannon Moore, which is awesome! He can now go to TNA again and get into the X Division. This match was standard tag fair, and the right guys won. The tag champions “edged” out Wang and Moore fast, and we get to say goodbye to Shannon Moore. Nothing great here, the champs win easy.

MVP Segment:

MVP is golden on the mic! He just casually talks about how he’s the best, and you know what? Maybe he is, dangit, I’m starting to like MVP a whole lot!

Jeff Hardy defeated Shelton Benjamin via DQ

Shelton Benjamin and Jeff Hardy put on a good match up, and the announcers didn’t make it clear to me whether or not it was for the title. I thought it should have been for the championship, Hardy should have won and defended it against MVP on Sunday, only to drop it to him. The match wasn’t so great, but Benjamin does like to work stiff now a days. He’s really putting the boots to Hardy, and Hardy looks great when working stiff, he delivers great stuff. As much as Hardy’s matches are formulaic, they are still exciting and put on a great show. The one thing that I can’t stand though, is the double standards that the WWE places on their high flyers. Hardy seems to be given the green light to just jump off the ropes, fall through tables, fall onto the floor, and just nearly break his back on a weekly basis and no one says crap. I don’t like that, but you know what? WWE doesn’t care what I think.

The match had a lot of rest holds from Benjamin, and Hardy was nearly purple through a good portion of the middle of the match. The ending was ok, but not what I personally wanted. MVP came in and caused a DQ finish, and Hardy wins via DQ. Shelton should get upset with MVP, but if his title was on the line, it was salvaged.

The Great Khali vs. Triple H Indian Arm Wrestling Match *No Contest

This is the way they are building heat? This is so stupid. Apparently there’s glass on either side of the arm wrestling stools or whatever, and if you get cut, you lose. Triple H wasted a lot of time, and didn’t really look like he wanted to do it, but he ended up going for it. Khali babbled before hand, and it was boring to me.

This whole thing is stupid to me. If this is the way they are building for the match at Summerslam, it’s a poor thing. Triple H is the worst paper champion I’ve ever seen. I hope Khali gets the belt, cause this looks stupid. An arm wrestling match? Seriously?

Triple H tried to cheat, but Khali is massive! I thought for sure Khali was going to win, and well…he basically stopped it. He headbutts triple H then the two start brawling and the crowd goes nuts. I thought it was a really lackluster ending, and I didn’t like how this turned out. Triple H can’t hit the pedigree on Khali, and Khali ends up squashing Triple H, proving that Triple H might end up losing this one, I’m not sure how he can win at the ppv…without the sledgehammer.

Khali really clamped onto Triple H with that vice grip, and I thought maybe just maybe that wrestling was real or back in the 80’s where I swore it was real. It’s hard to tell, Triple H’s face was beet red and Khali looked like he was seriously killing Triple H.

Good riddance! I hate Triple H now. He’s a lazy worker and I don’t care if he is the son in law, he’s not wrestling as much as Punk and proving that HE is the REAL paper champion NOT CM PUNK.

Khali drops Triple H and I want Khali to win the title, screw Triple H!

Hawkins Black Rose Segment:

Hawkins is back stage with a black rose…weird. Is this prelude to the Undertaker? This is weird if you ask me.

Chavo & Vickie Segment:

La Familia have been taken out tonight and Chavo doesn’t understand what’s going on. Chavo wants to get Edge involved. They are both scared, and Vickie doesn’t want to. What the heck? They don’t need this mysterious crap. I would rather see Undertaker just straight up appear and beat down everyone, have Paul Bearer back, something, not this black rose crap. Lame.

Koslov defeated Jesse

Koslov came out and demanded competition. I guess he found it with Festus. However, Festus wasn’t the one in the match! They swerved me, that’s for sure. Jesse is the guy that wrestled koslov, and this was stupid to me. I am a firm believer that no wwe tag team should be allowed to lose a match to a singles wrestler. I know, it’s hard stance, but come on, if a tag team is legit, they make sure they win at all costs. Remember when The Hart Foundation were huge? They wouldn’t get squashed like this, and I don’t know why the WWE does this to legitimate tag teams. Koslov basically squashes Jesse fast, and Festus never really got involved, and Koslov just timed the head butt really well. I liked it a lot. Koslov needs a real challenge, and these squash matches make me want to quit watching wrestling.

Chavo & Vickie Segment Deux:

Edge agreed to help Chavo, and supposedly things are going to go down. I’m tired of these backstage segments. The WWE doesn’t need this! Get more wrestling in, that’s what I say! We don’t need two TNA Impacts a week, and Smackdown is slowly turning into the same format. Less of this whiny backstage crap and more wrestling!

Brian Kendrick defeated Super Crazy

Brian Kendrick has been showing that he’s got a lot of style and substance. A lot of people are comparing him to an early Shawn Michaels. I don’t like that comparison. He’s not that good yet. He hasn’t proven anything to me. Kendrick has to go through some major opponents before he can say he’s anything like Michaels. Plus, the fans aren’t really getting behind this gimmick at all. Super Crazy has to be on his way out too. He jobs like a pro, but he could do so much better for promotions like CMLL or AAA in Mexico. I hate when the Latino wrestlers get squashed in WWE. Kendrick can be great, he just needs some more competition. What if he got fed to Koslov? Now there’s a match up!

Edge & Vickie Segment:

This is suppose to make things better somehow? Smackdown is really not my favorite show because they keep throwing these non-wrestling storylines at me. The backstage segments are too much for me. I would prefer a quick interview, or maybe a commercial, instead of seeing these guys try to act through some stupid gimmick about how the Undertaker is coming out and scaring them. Undertaker better come back like the true Deadman, otherwise, I’m going to be upset.

Imagine if he comes out as Biker Taker? That would hilarious.

Edge In Ring Segment:

This is dumb. I can’t believe that another week of Smackdown comes by with the same old crappy in ring segment. If I were there live I’d boo the crap out of this just because this is so lame. They should have a legitimate main event with real wrestling to end the show. Even TNA has some wrestling to end the show…sometimes. Edge calling out the Undertaker is just so stupid, but I do give him one thing…he really sells the whole segment. He makes it seem so legitimate that you start believing that maybe Edge feels that this whole thing is more than just a wrestling segment. I guess that’s a great thing about Edge. But it doesn’t make me feel any better about the way the show ends.

Edge turns on Chavo, that was interesting, that’s for sure. Edge’s swerve was cool, I do admit that. Maybe I spoke too soon about this whole thing. Edge looks like he’s really turning into a psycho heel, and I like that. He needs to be a lot crazier and this is going to be awesome if he shows up at Summerslam like this. We don’t need some soft Edge, we need Edge to beat the crap out of everyone, Stone Cold style. Vickie screaming was not all that great. Edge is awesome, I’m sorry, I’m flip flopping like a little kid. Undertaker is going to be in for one heck of a match up, and maybe even a fall from the top of the cage. I’m not sure why the crowd is cheering, but oh well, let’s go with it! Edge seems like the antihero now, and that’s not half bad. Maybe Lita can come out and beat Vickie down or something. That might be interesting, no? Edge is looking good now, let him get more psycho, and let him just steam roll through the title again.

WWE Smackdown 8/8/2009 Quick Results:

Natalya, Victoria, & Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool, Maria & Cherry (Six Diva WWE Olympic Tag Team Match)
WWE Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder def. Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore (Non-title)
United States Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy (Non-title, No-Contest)
WWE Champion Triple H vs. The Great Khali (Indian Broken Glass Arm Wrestling Contest, No-Contest)
Vladimir Kozlov def. Jesse
The Brian Kendrick def. Super Crazy

The show goes off the air, and another Smackdown is in the books. I still am not sold on the non wrestling ending. I don't like ending on such sour notes. Maybe the dark match is Edge vs. The Undertaker or maybe it's not.

Smackdown was not better than TNA, but Raw had some great moments. Maybe the best show this week was Raw, or maybe not. I am not completely sold on Smackdown, but oh well.

Another week of wrestling is in the books.

Saturday Nights Main Event 8/2/2008 Review Lame Ducks

Jim Ross and The King are doing commentary on this event, that was obviously filmed earlier in the week.

JBL, Priceless, and Kane defeated Cryme Tyme, John Cena, and Batista

Kane opened up the match with Batista. This match was somewhat lengthy and the heels took control early on in the match, they really worked like a good team out there, even though tensions seemed a little high for such a match up. Nothing too crazy happened, as there were a lot of rest holds throughout the match up, and they isolated JTG for a good portion of this match up, with quick tags and constant movement in the ring. The hot tag occurs, and we see some great spots, including Cena’s finisher, Batista clearing the ring, and JTG getting thrown off the top via Cena’s help and then the clothesline from hell. The heels take this one in a good eight man tag, with plenty of entertaining spots.

The Great Khali defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Jimmy Wang Yang gets squashed again! That’s the big news in this match up. Yang has been in the doghouse for al ong time now, and this match just quick. Khali looks amazing, Triple H doesn’t look all that great, since HE is NEVER on the shows. I hope Khali beats down Triple H and I hope Khali gets the belt. Not because I’m a huge fan of Khali, but because I’m tired of Triple H not doing any wrestling and holding a title. He does nothing, meanwhile C.M. Punk wrestles every week on Raw and puts the title on the line more often than any other champion in recent history. Khali better win!

Edge defeated Jeffy Hardy

This seemed thrown together, as a match that doesn’t mean a whole lot this was ok. A standard back and forth match ensued; the crowd was all over Jeff Hardy, he’s way over with the crowd here. Hardy flew upside down into the guard rail, and was left clutching his knee right into the commercial break. Back from the break, we see Edge focusing on Hardy’s leg like a good Bret Hart match. Edge really looks great in this match up, while Hardy builds a good comeback, Edge drops Hardy with an impaler ddt for a two count. We get a major comeback closer to the end of the match, with the whisper in the wind, but somehow Edge manages to get to the outside, and MVP runs in, making this match up very credible. This was awesome, and I marked out huge for the run in, MVP kicks hardy in the face hard, and Edge brings a spear into the fray for the Win.

MVP’s run in made this match up the best match of the week! I’m not the biggest MVP fan, but this match is awesome just for that.

This was good, they stuffed a lot of wrestling into one hour, and even if it was only 3 major matches, there was enough wrestling to make this show worth watching. I liked it a lot.

Smackdown Review 8/1/2008 More of The Same BS

Before the match even started, MVP mocked Jeff Hardy. This is lame. I’m tired of these non feuds getting cheap heat by doing psuedo work/shoot promos before matches.

MVP defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

The downward spiral continues for Jimmy Wang Yang, he came out to no entrance music, no announcement. He just shows up in the ring, and for the most part gets beat down. He appears to be the next Funaki, if you ask me. Yang has some skills, but they aren’t being utilized for anything other than jobbing. I guess that’s good, at least Yang keeps his job, but he’s too talented to just lose like this. MVP puts on a clinic of sorts, and while Yang did mount a comeback but it was all for not, MVP squashes Jimmy Wang Yang for no apparent reason, once again making another former Cruiserweight champion nothing more than a talented jobber. Oh well. The post match had Hardy yelling at MVP and the two start fighting, or rather, he walks into a twist of fate and that was that.

Vickie & Chavo Backstage Segment:

They set up the rest of the night of tension, by having Chavo & Vickie show up in the backstage area only to see the mistress of Edge. What is she even doing? She’s not planning a wedding any longer, and if Edge truly is sorry, she wouldn’t be around. This story is lame.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Shelton Benjamin (non title match)

Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin wrestle, in what seems to be a match that I've already seen before. This match was a lot slower than I thought it would be, but it was given a good amount of time, with a commercial break to set off the pacing. I wasn't sure who would go on top for this match up, but it was definitely better than I was thinking. Kennedy should definitely get more of a push, and hopefully he's going to get that push he was promised before he got suspended for drug abuse. Shelton landed some stiff moves, including a horrendous shoulder breaker that looked botched somehow. He totally missed Kennedy's shoulder, and the announce team called it something else, then Jim Ross tried to pull the "innovative" offense card and say that Benjamin was trying to do that. It was a total botched shoulder breaker, there's no two ways about it. That's for sure.

This match had a lot of rest holds, which seemed odd considering that both men have some great top rope offense, and quicker moves. Benjamin really proved to be a mat technician as he worked on the arm for about three quarters of the Match up. Kennedy pulled out the Mic Check, even with the injured shoulder, and dropped Shelton Benjamin in one of the best matches of the week. It was long, it was a real wrestling match, and if WWE could continue to have matches like this, we could see a great thing. However, to deliver the mic check, Kennedy forgot about his shoulder being hurt, but whatever. I'll give it to Kennedy, he pulled off a great match, and something that the WWE needs to do more often; wrestle.

Hawkins & Ryder Backstage Segment:

Chavo walks in on the tag team champs and asks them about tonights special guest on the cutting edge. I was bored, and felt that this was dumb, especially since no one really cares about the cutting edge. They cut to commercial, a good idea, if you ask me.

The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel defeated Stevie Richards

Out of all the old ECW guys, Stevie Richards is getting a lot more of a push than them all. He somehow moved out of the new ecw show, and is somehow the proving ground for these new characters, and I don't mind. However, I miss Big Stevie Cool. I miss him and Raven in a double dog collar tables match with the Pitbulls. Stevie Richards looks like crap now, and he's just not the same dude. He's just a jobber, but at least he's not on ECW jobbing to Mark Henry each week like Tommy Dreamer. It's also nice to see that wwe hasn't fired Stevie Richards yet, but he'll eventually be phased out...all older ECW talent gets phased out sooner than later. There was no way Richards was going to win, and loses clean to a smaller, more athletic Brian Kendrick. I don't like his new gimmick, but whatever. At least we see the WWE moving forward with this guys new gimmick. Now if only they can do the same for Paul London, I might be in favor of splitting up more tag teams for the sake of singles wrestling. However, like Koslov, Kendrick hasn't really been tested yet. Sure Stevie Richards got a lot of clean offense in, but there was still no chance in hell that he was going to go over on this match.

Post match; Ezekiel hoisted Stevie Richards on his shoulder and pulled off a great move! The torture rack has come back to wrestling and Ezekiel pulls it off! He looked great. This might be looking good, and I expect a turn for him down the road.

The Great Khali defeated Jeff Hardy

I was rooting for Hardy, I admit it, however Hardy didn't stand a chance against The Great Khali. Hardy got beat down for the whole match and it looked painful. I know wrestling is fake, but Khali is so huge, and he just tears up Hardy. I'm looking forward to see how Triple H handles Khali. MVP interfered in this one, and Khali took advantage, nearly crippling Jeff Hardy with his huge arms. Hardy did his final set up, but still couldn't capitalize, MVP does a great job of assisting Khali for the win. I never thought Hardy could actually win. Khali crushes his head, and wins the match.

Maria defeated Victoria

Victoria is awesome, she's my favorite diva and I've always thought she was hot. However, Maria sucks. No really, she's not that great of a wrestler, and this match was carried by Victoria. It was boring to me somehow. Once again, the Knockouts are a trillion times better.

Big Show defeated Domino

A throwaway match really. Not much to say here. Domino loses this one, and Big Show continues his monstrous streak as a big man.

The Cutting Edge Segment:

Edge is good on the mic, I give him that. Getting Foley involved though? That seemed pointless to me, Foley isn't exactly in great shape any longer. I mean, not that he was ever in great shape before, but having him beat down Foley just seems dumb to me right now. Hasn't Edge already proved that he can defeat Foley? Oh well, the ending for Smackdown was a little lackkluster for me, and while there were a few good matches, the overall show wasn't all that good.

WWE Smackdown 8/1/2008 Quick Results:

Montel Vontavious Porter def. Jimmy Wang Yang
Mr. Kennedy def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin (Non-title)
The Brian Kendrick def. Stevie Richards
The Great Khali def. Jeff Hardy
Maria def. Victoria
Big Show def. Domino

This show was alright. It was not the best one so far, but it did have some matches that were way longer than other matches in the WWE recently. I liked the length, however there was a few things missing in this show, and it just felt a little scarce.

The R Truth promo's really weren't all that bad. I hope they give him some good competition, rather than just jobbing through some matches only to get buried in mid card hell.

I'm not sure that Smackdown is looking all that well yet, but there is still time to make it worthwhile. I am not too thrilled about anything besides Khali and Triple H for the first time.

Jim Ross did slip up on commentary, saying that Khali was going to be the next champion. Is this going to be true? Did Jim Ross really tell the future? Or was it just a commentary slip up?

Jimmy Wang Yang Steroids

The Cruiserweight division is being picked apart fast, and with todays announcement that Jimmy Wang Yang has been suspended for violating the wellness policy, we have one less cruiserweight in the WWE.

This sucks.

First Yang gets pummeled into submission on Smackdown and now this?

I'm not sure what everyone out there in the internet world thinks, but I know one thing: The WWE is losing talent left and right, and will continue to do so unless they start getting new talent and fast.

This is the problem with not having a lot of competition. Many wrestlers that would have made it into the WWE by now, are not making it because they are nobodies.

Now that WWE has gone public, more so than ever, they are all about sales. If a new wrestler can't sell, well...they aren't worth it.

That's beyond the point, Jimmy Wang Yang was floundering anyways, so it's not like he'll be terribly missed.

I'm not sure if he was on Steroids, Painkillers, Smoking Dope, or something else, but one thing is true...within 5 years there might not be any cruiserweights in the WWE.
