WWE Monday Night Raw 6/29/09 Review
The show opened up with none other than Vince McMahon. If any of the weird things that I posted about urban legends and wrestling are true, I have a new found fear and respect for Vinnie Mac. I wish I could work for WWE, but alas, I am nothing more tan an idiot.
Dave Batista came down with a nice cast on, and he was setting up championship qualifiers to see who is going to wrestle Orton at the Night of Champions.
Triple H defeated MVP
What in the world? Triple H not in the main event and fighting in the first match; this was odd to me. This was a semi-final match with the winner getting to move on to the finals of the Night of Champions title match up. MVP worked on the leg of Triple H, going for a lot of rest holds and technical mat wrestling, trying to get the Game to give up after last nights grueling match up. MVP was relentless, going back to the figure four several times, and forcing Triple H to try and hit his finisher to end it quickly, but it wasn’t working out too well. MVP kept it going with quick covers, and fast moves, with a focus on the leg. A very smart strategy by MVP, that’s for sure. I thought that MVP wasn’t going to get squashed but nope, Triple H put in the pedigree fast and it was over. Triple H gets to hold down the roster again…must be nice.
Edge and Chris Jericho defeated The Colons
The Colons took to the ring fast and furious. They were hitting the new champions with everything they had, and they quickly took charge as only they could. When we left for the break, the new champions were not in the zone, but when we came back from commercial it was Jericho that had things sewn up well for himself and Edge. Primo was then isolated and was getting worked by Edge and Jericho, with quick tags and fast covers to two counts. Jericho and Carlito exchanged some of the best moves for moves and counters that I’ve seen in a long time. Jericho went for the Walls but sent Carlito into edge instead….Carlito hit a reverse cross body and had a near fall, and this thing was close! Edge got a hot tag and ran for the spear but it was Carlito that ducked, with help from Primo the Backstabber was hit on Edge but at 2 Jericho threw himself inside to stop the three count. Edge and Carlito were left alone in the ring, Edge looked tired but was able to get a spear and the WIN! Jericho pulled a rope from under Carlito, and it was a classic. It was such a fast finis, if you saw it, you noticed that this thing was perfect timed by Jericho to make Carlito miss a reverse elbow! Primo was thrown to the ropes, Carlito got distracted and the titles get another hot shot.
John Cena defeated The Miz
The Miz was actually trying to get an ok match up out of John Cena. However, this match lacked a lot. It seemed that the match was going nowhere, and both the crowd and myself were severely hindered by such lackluster moves from both men. The Miz kept going for swinging neck breakers, random right hands, and a few other bouts of offense, but nothing was too crazy, it really wasn’t worth while in terms of offense. The Miz was dominating this match towards the end, and I began to feel a little nostalgic, considering Cena is wrestling the old Hulk Hogan style match.
This match was way too long. It was way too predictable and really wasn’t worth staying up past your bed time for. I can’t believe I sat through this piece of junk match. John Cena, after taking a beating for a good amount of time, hits The Miz with the STF and he’s going to wrestle Triple H next week to see who will face Randy Orton at Night of Champions.
There’s only two ways it can go. Cena will win but Triple H will join somehow making it a triple threat match or Cena will lose to the game and Triple H will get yet another stupid shot at Orton. I’m so tired of this.
Mickie James defeated Kelly Kelly,Beth Phoenix, and Rosa Mendes
This was a four way match up, which is interesting, the winner would get a divas championship title shot. It’s always great to see four ways in the wwe because it shows you who can wrestle and who isn’t that good at all. There were a few good spots in this match including the pretzel looking positioning with four headlocks. Beth Phonix had a good amount of offense in this match up, but it seemed that she was getting ganged up on a lot too. This match wound down to a slow moving day dream speed, Rosa took a sick looking ddt, and I really lost any passion for this match up. The divas division sucks completely, I don’t like it at all. In fact, if I had my way I’d fire all the divas and start over with some fat women that couldn’t be models, but could wrestle really well.
The Big Show vs. Kofi Kingston ended in a double count out
Kofi Kingston got some offense in, but it was The Big Show that was taking out his frustrations on Kofi Kingston. Kofi was able to get some serious reversals, but nothing insane, nothing crazy. The match was so lame that it ended in a double countout…the big slow made this unwatchable.
Randy Orton was supposed to face three new Raw recruits...but who were they? That is what we would find out...I was dead tired, but muscled through this last piece of Raw to get you guys a review...all three of you that still read this thing.
Next week The Million Dollar Man will be a guest HOST Next Week! That's going to be awesome!
Randy Orton defeated Evan Bourne
Evan Bourne was the first recruit to come into this match against Orton. I found it odd that they would feed Bourne to Orton...why bury the new guy? I don't know. Bourne hit some fast moves and Orton was not reacting very fast, he almost seemed out of place against Bourne until he hit Evan Bourne hard and then started stomping out Bourne. Orton towered over Bourne and I really wasn't sure that he could recover in this match up. Orton definitely looked dumbfounded by the amount of speed that Evan Bourne possessed. Bourne went for the shooting star press, but Orton caught him with an RKO out of the top rope, and pinned and essentially BURIED EVAN BOURNE! Way to go WWE way to bury your talent.
Randy Orton defeated Jack Swagger via count out
Out came the All American American Jack Swagger! Swagger looked like a chump, and Orton was looking like he was going to kill Swagger once he stepped into the ring. Looks like ECW is losing talent left and right. Swagger looked dominant against Orton early on, Swagger has some weight on Orton that's for sure. Swagger stepped outside the ring and just let the referee count him out? This was an odd strategy, and it just so happened that he was counted out...that was that...will Swagger join Legacy? I think it's obvious that he's headed somewhere with this.
Swagger got on the mic. He then shook Orton's hand and walked away. Swagger simply walked away....
Mark Henry defeated Randy Orton
Mark Henry was the third man out. He got on the mic and said he liked Orton and had a lot of respect. He said he would leave an impression tonight, and that it was going to be a good one.
The match started and Henry looked poised to stomp out Orton...but instead he dropped Orton with a throwdown then simply got counted out!
Alright, this is weird. If the WWE finally took my idea of building a massive Stable of Heels with Orton as the leader, this thing is golden. Remember the Dungeon of Doom? That was awesome....
I spoke too soon, Mark Henry didn't get counted out he simply was joking, and climbed back into the ring and was ready to mop up yet again.
Orton got on his knees and begged for mercy, like a chump. Orton went for the RKO but was met with the World's Strong SLAM and defeated RANDY ORTON! YES YES YES!
I'm not a big Mark Henry Fan, but dang, this was rad, finally someone stomps out Ortona and it's the world's strongest man Mizark Henry! I liked this booking, and thought Mark Henry getting a win is cool. He can now hold it over Orton, he doesn't even have to win the title, he can just say he pinned Orton! Great finish, Orton got worked, great times...although Triple H and Cena are the likely candidates for the title...which I don't like. Oh well...we can't all have our way.
I liked raw, it wasn't terrible, it had it's sore spots, but overall...it was ok. Just a heads up, I will be out of town July 3rd through 5th, so I won't be having a Smackdown review. I will be back for a Raw review though. Enjoy! Mark Henry pins Orton live in San Jose! Rad.

WWE Monday Night Raw 1/26/09 Results and Review Orton Reigns
Only 24 hours after the big Royal Rumble 2009, we get to see Raw live from somewhere...I don't know where, but it was on and in action. I'm really getting tired of hearing Randy Orton's music, that's for sure. The winner of the Royal Rumble opened up the show tonight on Raw. Orton came out with his lawyers and his therapist! He came out to a chorus of boo’s and was ready to explain why he did what he did last week.
The Miz and Morrison defeated Cryme Tyme
I’m not sure why there are two different sets of Tag Team championship belts. There’s no reason for that, considering that Miz and Morrison go on both shows regardless of their affiliation. Meanwhile, the other set of belts are on a tag team that doesn’t really defend them. I didn’t peg Miz and Morrison to win this match up, and they proved me wrong again. They won again, and they are still the world tag team champions. The match was fast and The Miz was definitely great, and it was awesome to see the tag team champs get more solid in a division that is lacking a lot of talent. Cryme Tyme should just call it a day.
Kofi Kingston defeated Kane in a Elimination Chamber qualifying match
Kane came out heavy in this match up. Kofi was getting hit with some stiff shots and clotheslines into the corner. However, Kofi managed to turn things around fast and the match ended swiftly, and if you blinked you missed it. Kofi Kingston defeated Kane.
Chris Jericho announced that he’s going to wrestle Mickey Rourke at Wrestlemania 25. that should be interesting to say the least.
John Cena defeated Shawn Michaels
HBK and John Cena battled it out yet again. If you’re a fan of this site at all, You know how much I hate getting the same match over and over again. I hated it in 1998 when Triple H and the Rock wrestled nine or ten times in a row. You’re standard Cena match was here, and while Shawn Michaels did enough of a good job to thwart repetition, it was still a Cena match when you took away the flashes of greatness. The same position that HBK was in a few weeks ago happened again here, with HBK being inches away from the ropes in the STF and eventually reached the ropes. I thought JBL would be pushing the ropes, but nothing happened. For a ten o’clock main event, this thing was doing well. The crowd was way into this one, even though I could’ve gone without it. JBL tried to convince Michaels to win the match at the midway point, but Cena countered and dropped HBK with the FU and it was all over. Cena wins another match. Are you surprised at all? As a result JBL can not be in the elimination chamber match up.
Beth Phoenix & Jillian defeated Melina & Kelly Kelly
Wow, I didn’t know this was going to happen. I hate the predictability of the WWE diva’s matches. They are easily the easiest match ups to predict. The match eventually went the way I thought it would, Beth Phoenix dropping Jillian on her face, and it was all over. Yep, it was all over. Boring divas match, standard stupidity.
Rey Mysterio defeated William Regal in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match
This match was not half bad. William Regal really does a good job of making his matches worthwhile. I enjoyed how good it turned out, and Rey Mysterio really did a good job out there. A lot of fast moves and good pacing, really made for a good match. I liked this one, even if it was a little short. Rey Mysterio finally wins one, that’s gotta be good for the fans.
Chris Jericho defeated CM Punk in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match
CM Punk and Chris Jericho? The Main Event? I’m down! The match was hard hitting at first, with Punk really pushing Jericho to the defensive. Punk had all the right moves early on, but it was Jericho that was impressing the heck out of me with reversals out of every single type of pinning combination imaginable, before hitting the Codebreaker right onto the face of Punk, and qualifies for the Elimination chamber match at No Way Out in my home town of Seattle, Washington.
Stephanie McMahon came out and confronted Randy Orton. Randy Orton told Stephanie McMahon that if she fires him, he will sue the crap out of WWE. The whole Raw roster came out to the ramp, and Orton started to threaten people. Orton then wanted to get fired and was yelling at the princess McMahon. She wasn't backing down at all, and it was getting crazy. SHANE MCMAHON SHOWED UP! EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT SHANE MCMAHON! He took off his jacket and was going to the inside of the ring. SHANE MCMAHON SPEARED RANDY ORTON! Then fought off legacy, and started to beat the crap out of Orton. However, Rhodes and Dibiase stopped him. Shane really held his own out there and was fighting Orton like a house on fire! Shane McMahon knocked out Randy Orton! This was the best thing to happen to Monday Night Raw in a long time! Shane McMahon will most likely wrestle Randy Orton at No Way out and set up a match up for Vince McMahon to fight him at Wrestlemania.
The entire RAW roster came out and separated the two factions, and Orton escaped with his life, but barely. Shane McMahon started to fight the Raw roster too!

Overall this edition of WWE Monday Night Raw 1/26/09 wasn’t half bad. I liked it a lot more than usual. I liked the qualifying matches, although I felt that all the matches were really short. I prefer longer matches, but it is Raw, so I didn’t expect a whole lot. I did like the tag team opener, and thought that Kofi Kingston is looking great still. The divas suck still and I don’t want to see them at all. I’m sorry, WWE’s Divas are terrible wrestlers. John Cena’s new movie “12 Rounds” looks worthwhile to me, but then the rating showed up, and I didn’t think it was worthwhile at all. A pg-13 rating? I know Cena’s suppose to walk the line, but come on! Stupid, this is stupid. I don’t want to see more pg-13 messes…they need to make another solid Rated R film, and then I’ll like it. If you haven’t seen the trailer, check it out, it’s worth it. The rest of Raw was ok at best. My only complaint is that the wrestling takes a backseat to pushing storylines, and you know what? That’s just the wwe way, I’m sure.

WWE Smackdown Results 9/26/08 Sleep Time For Me

The show opened up with Vickie and Chavo backstage. Chavo says that The Undertaker is coming for her! Big Show shows up and hugs Vickie, and stands guard.
HHH & Jeff Hardy defeated MVP & The Brian Kendrick
This match was fun to watch. Kendrick was flying all over the place, MVP got a lot of shots in, but the good guys were all over them. Triple H and Hardy were doing very well together, and it seemed like they were en route to making a major impact. We leave for commercial break with the good guys winning this match easily, however the commercial break is over and we’re treated to a stellar flurry of offense from The Brian Kendrick. He’s amazing, Kendrick has improved hand over fist and in this match he puts on a show against Hardy and Triple H! Hardy gets the hot tag and starts to really turn things around and I thought for sure it was going to be over, with ease, as he was dropping every move he had! However, Ezekiel gets involved and causes Hardy to drop off the top rope and onto the mat, changing the course of the match up around. MVP and Kendrick had a lot of in and out tags, great team work and I was fully into this match, even though I was really tired and had to make some coffee to wake up and review the show. I couldn’t believe that these guys were kicking off Smackdown, because this was the match of the week! I was all over the place on this match and wasn’t sure who was going to win it, which is a great thing for wrestling fans and about time the wwe does something like this. The ending was well done as Kendrick knocked out Triple H for a while, but Hardy knocked Kendrick outside of the ring, MVP tried to capitalize but Triple H got his bearings back and dropped MVP for the second week in a row with a pedigree for the win! The good guys win in this amazing match up for wwe, which is really surprising for me.
R. Truth punked out Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin looked like he was going to cry! Hilarious!
Maria & Bri Bella defeated Natalya & Victoria
Standard divas match showed up here and I was busy removing price tags on books that I was planning to sell tomorrow. So I was half paying attention to this one. No word yet about the “twins” story line, but the announcers definitely noticed something fishy going on. We also saw Maria get the win with a high cross body off the top rope, which was odd. Natalya and Victoria were pro’s in this one, letting the younger talent shine, even if they weren’t as good at wrestling as they were. I don’t like the divas division and this match was mostly boring, and rightfully so.
Kozlov vs, Khali went to a no contest
I don’t know what was up with this match, but Kozlov was having a hard time toppling the Great Khali. Khali took a huge swing into the ring post and basically rendered himself useless for a good five minutes or so. Triple H came out and challenged Kozlov, then Khali and Kozlov joined forces and were fighting Triple H, but Jeff Hardy came out for the save. It was short lived as the monsters started beating up Hardy, until Triple H came in with a sledgehammer.
What a waste of two guys. I wanted to see these guys go at it, but instead it gets interrupted and we are treated to more stupid run ins. Last I checked this was WWE not TNA, and how crappy is that? Lame.
Chavo Guerrero defeated Jimmy Wang Yang
Didn’t they fire Yang? Yang puts in a lot of good offense, only to be thwarted by Guerrero. Chavo was good, and I enjoyed it for the most part. I liked how the match flowed toward Jimmy Wang Yang as if he was going to win, but no one in their right mind was putting money on Yang, right? I sure knew that Chavo was going to go over, but I thought that the Undertaker would be involved somehow. I think that The Undertaker should’ve came in, but I guess last weeks’ ending to Smackdown proved enough of a point to get Chavo free and clear. Yang misses a lot of high spots, and Chavo does some great moves that made me remember Eddie Guerrero, but of course the crowd booed the crap out of him, but alas, Chavo finally wins a match. Too bad it’s at the cost of Jimmy Wang Yang and his lackluster push. Yang is the new Funaki, isn’t he?
The Colons defeated Hawkins and Ryder
Primo and Carlito were shining big in this match as they were working like a well oiled machine, and why wouldn’t they? They are brothers and have been around wrestling with their father since they were very young. The match was initially on the side of the Colon brothers as they were in there with quick tags and tandem moves. Primo is fast, and he can really go if you let him. His high flying offense really makes Carlito’s ground game work really well. I have a good feeling that Primo Colon could put on an amazing match up with the likes of Evan Bourne, and most likely will be down the road. This match had a lot of ast moments, then Ryder or Hawkins would slow things down and isolate one of the brothers, only to prompt another set of quick moves. The ending came when Carlito dropped Ryder with the back cracker after a hot tag and the Colon brothers are the new WWE Tag Team Champions! These two looked great, and the match was ok at best, not quite as good as the opener, but adequate enough to get them the belts and make it look good. The Colon’s didn’t even break a major sweat in this match, which was quite amazing to see. Not the greatest title change I’ve ever seen, but it was good none the less.
The final segment:
The final Segment on Smackdown bored me. I’m not too keen on these storylines, as I believe that Smackdown has a great amount of talent and could put on a legitimate wrestling main event. Instead, we get the Undertaker attacking Vickie Guerrero, and you know what? I don’t really give a crap. I don’t want to see The Undertaker fight The Big Show, The Big Show hasn’t even been relevant in a long time. In fact, didn’t we see the Big Show get pulled away on a casket once?
Yes, and here is the video showing The Big Boss Man and Big Show feud that made me believe that The Big Show Sucks and we don't need to see him wrestle the Undertaker.

Smackdown Review 6/13/2008
Smackdown rolled through yet again, with another show, but this time, unlike last week, it was a little boring. Sure we saw some interesting match ups, but overall, I just wasn’t really into this show. Maybe Raw was better this week, with all the possibilities and Vince getting rick rolled.
Morrison and Finlay had an interesting match up, but I hope this is not going to be the beginning of the end of the tag team championship reign of the current champions, or the end of the Smackdown tag team belts.
The last time Finlay and his son got into the gold, we lost the Cruiserweight championship and it has never come back, yet. Could this be the beginning of the end? Maybe. Finlay loses a lackluster match, cleanly.

Mark Henry squashed Tommy Dreamer, and further proving my point that Tommy Dreamer really is dead to the wrestling world. It must be nice to get a paycheck that involves about five minutes of wrestling, mostly just getting beat down by whatever “monster” of the month there is at the time.
Cherry and Maryse put on an ok match, but it was short and lacked a lot of what the divas have in potential.
MVP immediately squashes CM Punk, after Punk was backstage threatening Edge. Looks like CM Punk is just using that brief case for now, but we all know that Hardy deserves that case rightfully. Once again, WWE throws punk a bone only to steal it back in the same motion.
U.S. Champion Matt Hardy wrestled Chuck Palumbo, or Undertaker Lite, as I like to call him. It was a boring match up, but it is nice to see Hardy moving towards the upper card…but I doubt he’ll get a major title run anytime soon. Unless you consider the U.S Championship a major title right now.
Jesse & Festus vs. Deuce & Domino bored me. I don’t care about either team at this point.

Batista stopped The Great Khali. Proving that we don’t need the Undertaker around. Great…just great.

ECW's 100th Episode Cashes In 5/6/2008
ECW steamed through their 100th episode and I was quite surprised at how much show was actually packed into a one hour episode. The show featured some good match ups, but ultimately let me down in the end.

ECW actually had an extreme match for once! Tommy Dreamer was in his own element last night wrestling Mike Knox and I was really rooting for him, but it was to no avail, he lost miserably.

Tommy Dreamer is nothing more than a jobber at this point. He’s the new school Barry Horowitz.
Matt Striker wrestles? Apparently so, and to build up Kofi Kingston a bit more, they are pushing him through the ECW roster in order to get to the title, or jump ship to another show. Kingston has got some movies, but overall…he’s no Shelton Benjamin!

Benjamin and Kingston will most likely continue to feud as Benjamin’s beat down on Kingston last night had shades of old school professional wrestling; which makes me happy for a change.
Who knew Armando Estrada could wrestle? Who knew that WWE would actually sign an independent talent? Who knew they would allow him to win over the general manager of Ecw?
Not I, that’s for sure.
Delaney somehow managed to mop up Estrada, pick up the contract and join the superstars of wrestling; and the countdown begins to when they will bury Delaney and his hopes of joining the elite crew in the main event scene.
One thing’s for sure, the kid can bump like Foley.

The main event wasn’t all that great, but it was enough to keep me interested. The thing that disturbed me most, was not that the match was just a beatdown on Chavo, or that the new guy is getting pushed into the ECW main event scene; it was the parting shots of ECW as it went off the air.
The WWE is foreshadowing a match between Kane & Punk vs. The Tag Team Champions The Miz and Morrison. This of course is going to mean that the titles will once again get hot shotted to a temporary, non “tag team” partnership.

I’m already hating ECW…although they managed to not screw up their much anticipated and publicized 100th episode.
Quick Results for ECW 5/6/2008
Mike Knox def. Tommy Dreamer
Kofi Kingston def. Matt Striker
Colin Delaney def. Armando Estrada
ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely

The Hardy Boyz have a new 2 disc dvd set and it is out now, check out it here.
The HHH three disc set is out now too, with interviews and commentary by the game himself! Click here for more info on that release.

Smackdown Review 3/21/08

Y2J and MVP did a great job hyping a match for next week. I'm actually excited about the match up. I hope wwe continues to push those two on the mic, because they are really good together, and MVP, despite his outfit, is actually really good.

Chavo getting beat down by the Undertaker was lame. I thought for sure Edge was going to save him.
The Tag-titles around miz and morrison makes me mad. BUt I don't want them to go to the glorified jobbers in Jesse and Festus...we need a real team.
No Vickie Guerrero, which was nice.
Wasn't Mark Henry the resident big-man Jobber? At least that's what I thought. He would be called in whenever Batista or Undertaker needed a quick loss. As a matter of fact Mark Henry's "monster" record is really looking like the worst win/loss record in professional wrestling today. Seriously, Mark Henry is a horrible heel...
but for some reason on Smackdown, Mark Henry got his second wind, and obliterated the ring of guys in the Wrestlemania battle royal. I haven't seen Henry so dominant in a long time.
Is Henry going to be turning over a new leaf?
I sure hope not, that guy is so slow. He has like 2 moves, and then he has the overdrive mode where he injures whoever needs to get surgery..aka...Rey Mysterio etc.
Smackdown was really cool, but come on...Henry?
Batista mopping up a real tag-team made me upset too. I still believe wwe hates tag teams.
No sign of Matt Hardy. The divas arm wrestling was stupid. They aren't even eye candy to me.
Overall Smackdown was good, and I enjoyed it, however, I'm concerned over the future of Mark Henry's involvement on the show. I hope he loses at Wrestlemania, or he gets injured, because I can't stand him coming back and dominating the roster like he did on Smackdown.

Further Proof that WWE Hates Tag Teams

Last night people were treated to a very interesting Raw at times. But it needs to be mentioned that the WWE has further put a nail in the coffin of the tag team division. When's the last time the WWE allowed for a tag team to last more than a few years? When's the last time the WWE returned to the glory days of tag team championship wrestling?
Even the WCW, with all its faults and stupidity, allowed long running tag teams to stay together for the purpose of promoting the division as a viable way to make money and promote other wrestlers. Teams like Public Enemy, The Nasty Boys, The Outsiders, and many more stuck it out for a long period of time before breaking up. They made major impacts in their respective division.
The WWE of old had The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Brainbusters, Strike Force, The Pan-Am Connection, and so many more tag teams that went through with pride to hold the belts.
Recently, the WWE has broken up major tag teams to make more single wrestling money with them chasing the glory of singles titles. Most of them are gone now...none of them sticking to the longevity promised to them as a single's competitor. Let's check in on how these break ups have shaped the current world of wrestling:
Billy & Chuck Split Up: They were the gay innuendo twins, but they were a solid tag team and were making major waves, even garnering major pop's around the nation, regardless of their stereotypical pushing of the envelope. This team was solid, and had a manager with enough knowledge to keep things flowing well together. The break up came after a botched wedding ceremony, and media push. The two went separate ways. Chuck is now "undertaker lite" and Billy is in TNA. The singles push after the split did nothing to further their careers, and only one of them is still active in the WWE...not exactly a thrill.
The Spirit Squad: The most annoying set up, gave us some memorable moments. We all wanted to see the squad get their butts kicked, but at the end of the day, things fell apart and we saw Kenny rise out of the ashes. Where is he now? Not exactly the main event star that J.R. was creaming over is he?
The Hart Foundation: One of my favorite tag teams growing up, split up due to injury on the Anvil, and things were never the same with the tag team. Bret Hart went on to win the world title several times, and became one of the best wrestlers of all time! The Anvil? He went to WCW and had a mediocre career afterwards.
The British Bulldogs: What a powerhouse team full of energy and great mat technique. One was confined to a wheelchair, the other is no longer with us. What a career huh? The latter never even gained a world title, and his push in WCW was but a whimper in time. Though he did main event several ppv's, he never captured the gold. Sadly, he is no longer with us.
Edge and Christian: The two Canadians made a race for the titles and made things very interesting for the tag division in the late 90's with heroic efforts in ladder matches and high spots heard round the world. The two split up and Edge went on to be the world champion in wwe, meanwhile Christian floundered, never got a main event spot in WWE and went to TNA to get the main event spot. Christian and Edge still wrestle in the main showcases of each company, but we can all say that Christian had a hard time getting to the main event spot. The last time I saw him in WWE was Smackdown taping in Los Angeles, and then he was gone. TNA's ratings have never gone up beyond ECW's show on Sci-Fi, so you can see that there's not much hope there.
The Hardy Boys: The Hardy Boys were forever the butt of the joke of any new wrestler starting out for the WWE. Those guys got worked on many occasions, and then one night they shocked the world winning the World Tag Team Titles. They were split into single entities and pushed towards separate roads. Jeff had to sit back and watch Matt get prime time feuds with the likes of Edge and others, until he got injured. Then Jeff took a major push, only to be hindered by the latest suspension due to drugs. The hardy boys did make a couple of comebacks, but never really made it back to the tag team division in a major way.
The Dudley Boys: The Dudleys were a major tag team together, then the original roster split occurred when WCW and ECW were bought by WWE. They went separate ways and neither did well as a singles wrestler. One might argue that Bubba Ray Dudley got a push, but it was short lived to say the least.
Strike Force: The first time I remember the break up story line occurred. Tito Santana floundered after this break up, meanwhile Rick Martel became The Model Rick Martel and had a good solid run through the mid 90's paving the way for Razor Ramon to get into the spotlight on Raw, and the intercontinental title.
Last night on Raw, history repeated itself and the WWE made the first moves to separate Kendrick and London. If they follow through with this, I do not see a viable singles career for either one.
Do You?
Consider the smaller wrestlers in WWE for a moment.
Where is the Cruiserweight title?
Exactly.
WWE hates tag teams for some reason.
