WWE Survivor Series November 20, 2016 Results and Review The Burial of Brock Lesnar

Buried!!!!
I was excited for this pay per view, and wanted to go to Toronto, but wasn’t able to get there. I saw this on the network with no major problems, and did not watch the pre-show. I wasn’t going to sit for 2 hours or 3 hours ahead of what I thought was going to be a 4 hour show. It wasn’t 4 hours, thankfully.

WWE Survivor Series November 20, 2016 Review

As I stated, I did not see the pre-show so I cannot comment on the first two matches that opened. Oh well.

Team Raw def. Team SmackDown LIVE in a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Women’s Elimination Match

Team Raw’s women won a great overall women’s match, but the crowd was somewhat quiet. Nia Jax was the star here. The double suplex absolutely had me marking out. I loved it. Great stuff from them. Great overall match, lots of back and forth, lots of fighting. Raw won, after a length battle, and boom, the women’s revolution is back full circle to diva status opening the main show.

Match Rating: 3 out of 5

Intercontinental Champion The Miz def. Sami Zayn

The Miz and Zayn put on a halfway decent match, but it was mostly boring. I didn’t like it. I thought Zayn was supposed to win this, but nope. The Miz cheated, and that was that. Not a great match, not a bad match, but definitely a lot to be desired.

Match Rating: 2 out of 5

Team Raw def. Team SmackDown LIVE in a 10-on-10 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination Match

Now this was a boring match. It was a boring moving tag match with a lot of boredom. However, the win was nice with Enzo and Cass putting on a major show. I loved that. It was great to see that, and the crowd popped, but other than that, it was somewhat forgettable to me.

Match Rating: 2 out of 5

WWE Cruiserweight Champion The Brian Kendrick def. Kalisto

Kendrick and Kalisto put on a great match for a crowd that didn’t appreciate it. It was a fun match, no doubt, but Corbin ran in and messed things up. Kalisto is good, but not good enough to win here, and Kendrick keeps the guys on raw. Kendrick’s promo before the match was great.

Match Rating: 3 out of 5

Team SmackDown LIVE def. Team Raw in a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Men’s Elimination Match

Great stuff. Great stuff all around. Styles and Ambrose pushed their feud, but alas, Roman remained strong. Roman remained STRONG all the way until the loss. Shane nearly dying from a concussion was insane, it’s time for him to go. Lots of action, a long match, and just a lot of fun. The Shield reunited for a moment, and the crowd was way into this match, great stuff.

Match Rating: 4 out of 5

Goldberg def. Brock Lesnar

No one called this. I loved it. An absolute burial! Goldberg hit 2 spears, and a jackhammer, and that was that. The crowd went insane, people were shocked, and that was the show! Great stuff, I loved it.

Match Rating: 4 out of 5

And that’s that. Not a great show, but lots of fun in the matches, etc. Good stuff. Ended early, made me hit the gym. Oh well.

WWE Survivor Series 2016 Predictions

This weekend the WWE will be in Canada, where I wanted to be, and will be putting on a showcase of the immortals, aka The Survivor Series. I miss the old Thanksgiving eve or even Thanksgiving day tradition. I loved the old showcase, and with this Raw vs Smackdown thing, I’m not as excited. However, I am going to cheer, eat pizza, and drink beer like I always do. And well, here we go, a great time to predict what is going to happen, and here we go.

WWE Survivor Series 2016 Predictions

Brock Lesnar defeats Bill Goldberg

I have no idea why the WWE would let Goldberg come back only to win and then go away. I’m going to say that he pulls off the big win here. Goldberg doesn’t get humbled like Randy Orton, but instead, he goes in and puts on about 5 minutes of offense, then starts to lose it. Look for Lesnar to take Goldberg to Suplex City, and win this match clean, and that’s that.

WWE Team Raw defeats Team Smackdown

Look, I like the teams fair enough, but they don’t make sense. If you go back to the original Survivor Series matches, they never put together teams that were at odds. It was bad guys versus the good guys, and you had dream matches in the middle. There are no dream matches here, these guys are just thrown together for a pride that makes no sense to me. I expect Ellsworth to get beat down, I expect Raw to get the win, and above all else, Roman Reigns is going to look strong no matter what.

WWE Tag Team Raw defeats Team Smackdown

Did we already forget that The Usos tried to break the legs of American Alpha? Did we already forget that 4 of the guys are part of the jobber squad? On Raw, you have far better participants, and of course with the New Day needing to look strong, watch out for them to win this one, and get the win.

Kalisto defeats The Brian Kendrick

Why would Kendrick need to give any sort of pep talk? Seriously. Nothing changes for the cruiserweights except that they get moved from one show to another show, and well better announcers. I’m going to say that Kalisto wins this one, and the whole roster moves to Smackdown and Kendrick wins the belt back in a triple threat match which involves Kalisto botching moves, Tj Perkins getting no reaction, and Kendrick getting that 37 year old swagger win.

The MIz defeats Sam Zayn

Sami Zayn needs a title, he’s floundering on Raw, Stephanie McMahon seems to hate him, and well he should go to Smackdown. Look for The Miz to beat Zayn, get fired from Raw, only to have a rematch on Smackdown to win the title. The Miz is going to get booed out of the building, since Zayn is from Canada. This will be a good match, but expect Zayn to go down in flames.

The Smackdown Women defeat The Raw Women

In another showcase, I am going to go with the Smackdown women getting the big win here. I am going to say that they are the underdog, but that’s not really true. I just think that they are going to want to make John Cena’s girlfriend look strong, and well, she’s going to win. I think this should be an interesting match, and well it’s going to be good.

That’s my take on this weekends showcase. I think that it will be a good show, although it won’t lead to much more in terms of story line, unless people purposely walk away and leave their team. I don’t get this pride thing, but hey that’s just me. If you got picks, drop me a line, otherwise, watch the show, drink some Steveweiser and enjoy!

Wild Card Predictions

Don’t be surprised if The Club Sandwich boys turn on the rest of their team.

Don’t be surprised if someone gets injured on the Smackdown team, requiring the Undertaker to take his place.

Ring of Honor 8/4/10 Results and Review

Ring of Honor 8/4/10 Results

The Dark City Fight Club defeated Mr. Ernesto Osiris & Shawn Daivari
Eddie Edwards defeated Frank Freddie
Kenny King defeated Delirious
Jay Briscoe defeated Claudio Castagnoli
Mark Briscoe defeated Chris Hero

Ring of Honor 8/4/10 Review

I promised some more Ring of Honor coverage, and the delay this week was due to the fact that I had to get my hands on some ROH, so it took me an extra day. I think I finally got it all figured out and will be adding ROH to my line up of reviews I do. this show aired 8/4/10 but I'm not sure when it was taped or anything like that. I don't have a lot of information on ROH and if you want to fill me in email me or hit me up on aim (thecorporatehero), just don't be a jerk about it. So here you go, my review of ROH television.

The Dark City Fight Club defeated Mr. Ernesto Osiris & Shawn Daivari

There is a tag team tournament going on called tag wars, and it's awesome to see a promotion actually enjoy watching tag team wrestling. The match started on the outside with both teams fighting each other and going at it into the barricades. This match had a few bad looking botches, but the Dark City Fight Club was quite good and reminded me of the Eliminators in ECW, and won with a combination neck breaker powerbomb, which was quite good. This match was standard wrestling fair, but it was cool to see tag teams represented as more than just "hot shotted" idiots.

The Eddie Edwards Ten Minute Hunt began, and the television champion Eddie Edwards wanted to see if anyone could fight him and defeat him. Not a bad thing, I can see a Ultimate warrior run down and win.

Eddie Edwards defeated Frank Freddie

I think the new comer said his name was Frank...or something...I don't know. The match started with Edwards pummeling the newcomer. Frank had some nice moves, and was hitting Edwards with some solid hits and moves, but thinks turned around after a flurry of offense from the new comer. Eddie Edwards caught Frank off the top rope with a powerbomb and turned it into a half-Boston Crab while kicking him in the head. They called it the Achilles Lock, and it was quite the submission, wow, not a bad match.

Kenny King defeated Delirious

Austin Aries was supposed to battle Delirious but he came out to the ring and said that he couldn't wrestle because he had laringitis. So he found a replacement, the young Kenny King. Kenny King won this match with what was called the Shotgun Knees. Austin Aries distracted Delirious by blowing smoke in his face and then distracting him in ring, and that was that.

Jay Briscoe defeated Claudio Castagnoli

A very nice back and forth match up with Claudio looking like one heck of a wrestler and Jay Briscoe looking like the second coming of PG-13, just sayin. Jay Briscoe hit a very nasty looking Death valley Driver right on Claudio's neck, and I thought this thing was done, but nope, Jay couldn't get the 3 count. Jay Briscoe won after reversing some pinfall attempts and that was that. This match wasn't terrible, but it wasn't a technical classic either.

Mark Briscoe defeated Chris Hero

Chris Hero looks to be ready for the big leagues, why he's not in TNA or WWE is beyond me. More than anyone else on the show he looks like he could fit in very well with the rest of the guys in the big leagues. This match was quite good, with lots of back and forth action, Hero looking like a champion, and Mark the sympathetic face outclassed by a more traditional pro-wrestler. Mark Briscoe won with a nice pinfall, and that was that.

Overall, this night of ROH wasn't half bad. I liked it. I'm not completely sold on the Briscoe Brothers, but there is some great tag team action, some good singles wrestling, and an overall good show. I didn't hate it, but that might be because I'm relatively new to watching ROH on a weekly basis, I might change my mind.

WWE NXT 3/23/10 Results and Review

WWE NXT 3/23/10 Results

Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel defeated Skip Sheffield & Wade Barrett

WWE NXT 3/23/10 Review

Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel defeated Skip Sheffield & Wade Barrett

This match wasn’t half bad, it was fast paced featured a lot of quick tags and overall good strategy by both teams. I actually could see all these guys making it, even if they do cut people, they could really create a good change up for the WWE.

Darren Young & David Otunga defeated Michael Tarver & Daniel Bryan

This match was not half bad. I was entertained by the old school nature of a lot of the motions. Bryan lost this one when Otunga dropped and pinned him.

CM PUnk had a CRO MAGS shirt on which was really cool.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/5/09 Results and Review Hell in the Cell Fallout

I’m back in action, kind of. I don’t get full cable until this weekend, but first and foremost, I get to review tonight’s Raw because my mother in law invited me over to do so. So it’s a great thing, here we go, my first review back, please help me out, I don’t have any money…so buy something from amazon please.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/5/09 Results

Jack Swagger defeated Primo Colon
MVP & Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters
Mickie James and her team won a divas bowl tag team match
The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship
DX defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/5/09 Review

The guest host tonight was Ben Roethlisberger, I don’t know why, but it was him…lame if you ask me.

The night began with the “diva bowl” which I immediately hated. Come on, I can’t watch for a few weeks and this is what I have to come back to? Yeah, this is stupid. Alright, all three brands had divas competing in this match up and it was interesting to see all of them in one match up, but it appeared that it wasn’t every diva; Gail Kim was the referee in this match up.

The divas bowl was a ten man tag of sorts, it was just a melee early on with all the women fighting each other and Gail Kim trying to gain control over the match up. It was really dumb, and I wasn’t sure how to follow along necessarily. Mickie James shined on this match up and even though I think she’s gained some weight, she was the one that got the pin in this match up, even though I had no idea what the teams were. So let’s just say Mickie James won the Divas Bowl.

It was a short lived celebration with Randy Orton coming out to say something or other.

We came back from a commercial break and Randy Orton was rambling about John Cena losing the WWE Championship in the cell match up. I didn’t watch the ppv, and I don’t really care so who cares, eh? Of course, these two dudes were just talking back and forth about the ppv last night. John Cena messed up in his speech, and he was proposing an Iron Man Match for the WWE TITLE! NO WAY! I will not support an IRON MAN MATCH for the WWE title, never…never! I you think that a serious Iron Man match between these two will go over well on ppv, you’re an idiot. I’m so sick of these idiots, geeez!

Jack Swagger defeated Primo Colon

Jack Swagger was impressive in this match up for sure, hitting Primo fast and hard from the beginning of the match up. Then he slowed things down to get the match a little psychology, and it was Primo that was moving forward with some offense, but was just not powerful enough for Swagger. Swagger kept getting the better of the offense in. Primo went for a nice springboard but was kicked in mid-air and then came the gut wrench powerbomb, and Swagger wins yet again. The all American American is continuing to prove he’s got some clout in regards to in his in ring skills.

Santino was involved in a nice little sketch with the divas, it was hilarious; not half bad. It was also announced that at Bragging Rights the Smackdown winners will fight the Raw winners…or something…I forget.

MVP & Mark Henry defeated Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters

Mark Henry looks like the Kool Aid man, and Masters had a hard time fighting him. Mark Henry hit a huge splash and it looked like he hurt his knee legit, which would mean he’s out of here for a while. MVP ran in there and hit the ring like a house on fire, but it was Chavo and Masters that capitalized on the small red machine. Come on, MVP and Henry look like the laughing stock of wwe right now. It’s nice to see Chavo not fighting off the small wonder, and he looked a bit more aggressive than I’m used to seeing him. MVP got his second win and Mark Henry had a hard time standing, but the red guys won the match up with a quick flurry of offense. This was a short match and it did look like Mark Henry was legit injured.

Post match Guerrero and Masters started fighting each other. Hornswoggle came out and bit Masters in the leg allowing Chavo to get an upper hand. Could the two foes now be friends? It sure looks like it…or not? I don’t know. The little guy gets the last laugh, that’s for sure.

The Big Show and Chris Jericho came out to fight Big Ben, and Ben called out the offensive line of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, before anything big went down the tag team champions stepped out of the ring and left things at that. Dx came out though, and I wasn’t sure why. I was bored, I wish they had more wrestling on this show, that’s for sure.

The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston

The U.S title match was on the line in this fast paced match, not exactly the greatest match for the Miz, and Kofi Kingston was definitely making a good call out of this match. Kofi was out there fresh and mopping through some great offense against The Miz. Of course if the Miz lost he would have to get on the mic and say he’s awful. The Miz was really putting on a little more in t his match than he usually does, which was definitely nice to see, considering that we had a lot of time wasting earlier in the show. This match moved forward quite nicely and I really liked the momentum that the Miz was taking advantage of in this match up. Kofi had this match seemingly won but it was Miz that kept fighting forward and trying to win this thing, the both putting on quite the challenging performance the night after a ppv, which is rare for the wwe. Kofi’s crossbody block off the top rope was reversed but Kofi managed to get out and hit the SOS for the close two count. The Miz then managed to hit the Skull Crushing Finale, and it was all over! The Miz is the new United States champion! The King was right, “we’ll never hear the end of this!”

DX defeated The Big Show & Chris Jericho

This match up wasn’t half bad. At least it didn’t start too bad, with a lot of action going back and forth between the two teams, especially considering last night’s ppv. The match drew to a stale mate towards the commercial break and we were left with The Big Show and Triple H staring each other down from opposite ends of the ring, and it was interesting to see that we had about ten minutes left in the show. This was definitely a first for me, usually the main event doesn’t start until later on in the ten o’clock hour. The match took a turn against Dx after the break and the two teams were being carried by Jericho, at least in my view. Sure Triple H and The Big Show slowed down the match some, but it was Jericho that was bringing in more emotion than the three other members of this match up. It’s a testament to how good Chris Jericho really is, with himself hitting hard, and enjoying a great motion of offense in regards to this tag match. Of course it wasn’t to be all Jericho, as Shawn Michaels got the hot tag and looked to be poised to win this thing overall. However, just like we’ve seen before Jericho was smarter than the second wind of Michaels, and got to his senses fast. Big Show came in and things started to look bad once again for the crew in DX. Jericho and Show were wrestling like well oiled machines, fighting off the DX guys with ease at a lot of points in this match up. This match really had the crowd going, but Jericho was the standout, regardless of his bad guy persona. The Big Show and Michaels were the last two remaining when the dust settled in this match up and it really got the crowd moving! Triple H got the hot tag, as is custom, and was really moving fast for a change. Jericho was not going to lay down with the night going over the eleven o'clock hour, and things were really going nuts, a melee ensued but it was Triple H with a sweet spine buster and set up for the Pedigree that made me think that DX could take this match's finale. The Big Show was not settling for the traditional, and he managed to get Triple H and Michaels down, but man, this match kept going back and forth and I couldn't really call the ending, even though I kind of knew what was bound to happen. To isolate Chris Jericho, DX threw Big Show over the guard rail and this was where business was about to pick up for sure! Chris Jericho found himself against DX and wanted to walk away, but out came the starting line of the Steelers! Jericho was then forced back to the ring by DX and boy was this a crowd pleaser! Sweet Chin music was hit and Triple H got the cover for the win, and DX gets the pin, the crowd goes nuts, and i'm back for a review!

I spent a lot of time tracking down these videos when I was younger. Before youtube you had to really work to get these on vhs, but now you can see them online and via dvd from various sorts of places.

WWE Smackdown Results 9/26/08 Sleep Time For Me

Vickie

The show opened up with Vickie and Chavo backstage. Chavo says that The Undertaker is coming for her! Big Show shows up and hugs Vickie, and stands guard.

HHH & Jeff Hardy defeated MVP & The Brian Kendrick

This match was fun to watch. Kendrick was flying all over the place, MVP got a lot of shots in, but the good guys were all over them. Triple H and Hardy were doing very well together, and it seemed like they were en route to making a major impact. We leave for commercial break with the good guys winning this match easily, however the commercial break is over and we’re treated to a stellar flurry of offense from The Brian Kendrick. He’s amazing, Kendrick has improved hand over fist and in this match he puts on a show against Hardy and Triple H! Hardy gets the hot tag and starts to really turn things around and I thought for sure it was going to be over, with ease, as he was dropping every move he had! However, Ezekiel gets involved and causes Hardy to drop off the top rope and onto the mat, changing the course of the match up around. MVP and Kendrick had a lot of in and out tags, great team work and I was fully into this match, even though I was really tired and had to make some coffee to wake up and review the show. I couldn’t believe that these guys were kicking off Smackdown, because this was the match of the week! I was all over the place on this match and wasn’t sure who was going to win it, which is a great thing for wrestling fans and about time the wwe does something like this. The ending was well done as Kendrick knocked out Triple H for a while, but Hardy knocked Kendrick outside of the ring, MVP tried to capitalize but Triple H got his bearings back and dropped MVP for the second week in a row with a pedigree for the win! The good guys win in this amazing match up for wwe, which is really surprising for me.

R. Truth punked out Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin looked like he was going to cry! Hilarious!

Maria & Bri Bella defeated Natalya & Victoria

Standard divas match showed up here and I was busy removing price tags on books that I was planning to sell tomorrow. So I was half paying attention to this one. No word yet about the “twins” story line, but the announcers definitely noticed something fishy going on. We also saw Maria get the win with a high cross body off the top rope, which was odd. Natalya and Victoria were pro’s in this one, letting the younger talent shine, even if they weren’t as good at wrestling as they were. I don’t like the divas division and this match was mostly boring, and rightfully so.

Kozlov vs, Khali went to a no contest

I don’t know what was up with this match, but Kozlov was having a hard time toppling the Great Khali. Khali took a huge swing into the ring post and basically rendered himself useless for a good five minutes or so. Triple H came out and challenged Kozlov, then Khali and Kozlov joined forces and were fighting Triple H, but Jeff Hardy came out for the save. It was short lived as the monsters started beating up Hardy, until Triple H came in with a sledgehammer.

What a waste of two guys. I wanted to see these guys go at it, but instead it gets interrupted and we are treated to more stupid run ins. Last I checked this was WWE not TNA, and how crappy is that? Lame.

Chavo Guerrero defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

Didn’t they fire Yang? Yang puts in a lot of good offense, only to be thwarted by Guerrero. Chavo was good, and I enjoyed it for the most part. I liked how the match flowed toward Jimmy Wang Yang as if he was going to win, but no one in their right mind was putting money on Yang, right? I sure knew that Chavo was going to go over, but I thought that the Undertaker would be involved somehow. I think that The Undertaker should’ve came in, but I guess last weeks’ ending to Smackdown proved enough of a point to get Chavo free and clear. Yang misses a lot of high spots, and Chavo does some great moves that made me remember Eddie Guerrero, but of course the crowd booed the crap out of him, but alas, Chavo finally wins a match. Too bad it’s at the cost of Jimmy Wang Yang and his lackluster push. Yang is the new Funaki, isn’t he?

The Colons defeated Hawkins and Ryder

Primo and Carlito were shining big in this match as they were working like a well oiled machine, and why wouldn’t they? They are brothers and have been around wrestling with their father since they were very young. The match was initially on the side of the Colon brothers as they were in there with quick tags and tandem moves. Primo is fast, and he can really go if you let him. His high flying offense really makes Carlito’s ground game work really well. I have a good feeling that Primo Colon could put on an amazing match up with the likes of Evan Bourne, and most likely will be down the road. This match had a lot of ast moments, then Ryder or Hawkins would slow things down and isolate one of the brothers, only to prompt another set of quick moves. The ending came when Carlito dropped Ryder with the back cracker after a hot tag and the Colon brothers are the new WWE Tag Team Champions! These two looked great, and the match was ok at best, not quite as good as the opener, but adequate enough to get them the belts and make it look good. The Colon’s didn’t even break a major sweat in this match, which was quite amazing to see. Not the greatest title change I’ve ever seen, but it was good none the less.

The final segment:

The final Segment on Smackdown bored me. I’m not too keen on these storylines, as I believe that Smackdown has a great amount of talent and could put on a legitimate wrestling main event. Instead, we get the Undertaker attacking Vickie Guerrero, and you know what? I don’t really give a crap. I don’t want to see The Undertaker fight The Big Show, The Big Show hasn’t even been relevant in a long time. In fact, didn’t we see the Big Show get pulled away on a casket once?

Yes, and here is the video showing The Big Boss Man and Big Show feud that made me believe that The Big Show Sucks and we don't need to see him wrestle the Undertaker.

WWE Raw Review 8/11/2008 Pre-Summerslam Showdown

Richmond Virginia gets Raw live, and away we go! We're one week away from Summerslam

John Cena Opening:

John Cena gets booed out of the building, and Richmond hates John Cena. Cena plays to the crowd and then gives a random speech. He makes fun of Smackdown and the build up between Khali and Triple H, and I wonder if he’s ad libbing. He tries to hype the crowd, but gets mixed reactions. I don’t think John Cena is really all that great, but he makes a lot of sense if you break down the whole speech. He said something that I’ve been thinking for a long time, and that is the sheer facts that you don’t need a lot of mindless hype to get over for a wrestling match at the ppv. What you need is just pure fighting, and if WWE really is after a PG rating, they need to stick to wrestling like they did when I was growing up. Before they started to focus on storylines and backstage segments, they just need to have fights break out and have chaos reign. It’s fine to have these in ring segments, but they need to return to form.

How would I book it?

I would have Cena out there flapping his gums as usual. But have Batista not come out of the backstage area through the ramp, but rather come through the crowd and Batista bomb Cena. Sure, it’s a cheap shot, but they should brawl straight through the back and just make it a street fight of sorts until officials break it up. Then at the ppv they should get a double dq leading to a gimmick match at the subsequent ppv. Where did I get that idea? Simple. Remember 1997? The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels did the very same thing. A dq match up, leading to the first ever Hell in a Cell match up. However, lets go back further and think about King of the Ring 1997 that year, and that had Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin facing each other in a “Face vs. Face” match. They ended up with a double DQ and didn’t really wrestle each other for nearly a year, where Stone Cold went over as the new world champion in 1998 at summerslam. That’s how you get heat.

Now as for this segment, where Batista comes out and is the obvious favorite, I’m a little unhinged. I’m not really sure.

Batista made a fatal comment though: He said “John Cena has never changed.” However, Cena has changed! Remember when he was rapping freestyle before each match up? Yeah, when’s the last time we saw that side of Cena? But it doesn’t matter, Batista tries to heel it up somehow but recants each time, forcing me to believe that this match might prove nothing, and we’re headed for a double dq finish or a count out or something stupid like that. Or just like that memorable Hulk Hogan vs. Sting match from Nitro (way back when) we’re going to see a faction of sorts run in and interrupt things for the two and they will each go their separate ways again. But maybe not…this segment ends with nothing important, and the two just leave, and we get to commercial break. It’s stupid if you ask me.

Beth Phoenix defeated Kelly Kelly

Kelly Kelly is so much smaller than Beth, and the Glamazon really puts up a great battle. Kelly did a few roll ups and reversal, but she was out wrestled completely. This match was basically a no contest, you knew what was going to happen. Kelly really took a beating, and Phoenix at times looked as though she was taking liberties with Kelly. Especially with the finisher that Kelly wasn’t too ready for, as she was sent flying to the mat face first.

Post Match Kofi Kingston and Mickie James came in and saved Kelly from further defeat. Santino got on the mic and started to mouth off about their match up for Summerslam. Santino then challenges Kofi Kingston to a match up tonight on Raw, but then says that he wants to wrestle Mickie James not Kingston! Mickie James accepts and Santino says he is going to put her back in the kitchen where she belongs and we’re getting a mixed match up with Santino and Mickie James!

Santino defeated Mickie James

What a great comedic performance for Santino. Santino and Mickie James put on a hilarious romp through an intergender match up. I liked this one a lot, but only for comedic value. There was not a lot of wrestling, and it was nice to see Santino finally get a match up. This match definitely has a lot of spots that looked hilarious and was entertaining to watch, but overall not something that you’re going to remember for a long time. This was a good initial set up for the match up this weekend, that’s for sure. Santino wins with a roll up.

Mike Adamle and Kane Segment:

Kane and Adamle talk about the sack. Adamle looked great, and he didn’t look nervous or intimidated by Kane at all. He then makes a match for later tonight, with Chris Jericho and if Kane loses, we’re going to get to see what’s inside the bag! Kane says that it’s going to be a big mistake.

Priceless Segment:

These guys don’t have much in the backstage department. These guys suck, actually. They heel it up, however, they just don’t have the charisma of their fathers, I’m sorry. These guys could be great, but they need to work on their backstage and on screen charisma. They don’t have a lot of heat just by their presence, and a great tag team could generate heat just by looking at them. These guys just don’t seem like a real threat to me. Sure, they talk a good game at times, but it seems so rehearsed, and they don’t seem upset. If they are truly focused and want those titles, they need to cast a shadow of anger and seriousness, rather than cool, calm, collected and undisturbed. But that’s just me. I’m not a booker, so what do I know right? Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr. really needs something more. They can’t just get over with these lame promo’s that’s for sure.

Cryme Tyme defeated The Highlanders

Way to bury the tag team division WWE! Not so much Cryme Tyme, but the Highlanders. Remember when The Highlanders were getting pushed hard? Now we are getting these squash matches and they are just another pair of jobbers. Cryme Tyme wins this match up with ease, and it doesn’t even show that they did much. It looks like they too have a “mic check” like finisher. Great, just great, no originality, no tag team maneuvers, this is stupid. This match was fast, no non sense, and really boring to me. The WWE once again buries another tag team, but I guess it’s better than a hot shot tag match up.

CM Punk and JBL Segment:

I knew this was going to happen. As soon as they announced that JBL had a contest that Punk couldn’t win, I thought a drinking contest. I’m well versed in the Straightedge scene, and I knew this was something that JBL would do. This was interesting, and it only cast a really good shadow of greatness for Punk. He looked a lot like a jesus figure, battling the devil in a match of temptations. Punk was steadfast and didn’t drink the Whiskey but instead threw it at JBL’s face and then hit a running knee to JBL in the corner. I thought that Punk was going to try and drop JBL through a table, but instead he just left. This segment was really boring to me, and really predictable. I guess more people needed to know about Straightedge or something? I’m not sure. Punk gets over before the big night this weekend, but will he stay champion? I’m not really sure. I think JBL might be a good transitional champion at this point.

Chris Jericho (w/ Lance Cade) defeated Kane

Kane dominated this match up. Chris Jericho in the short tights, looks really weird to me. Kane was in the midst of winning this match up with ease, and Mike Adamle came down to the ring with a lot of security guards. This allowed Jericho to turn the tables, as it were, but only for a moment. Kane immediately got his sack and clutched it to his chest, but that only allowed Chris Jericho to hit his Code Breaker for the win. I didn’t expect Y2J to win this match up, but somehow he pulled off the victory and had Kane in the ring. The more important part of the match definitely was the after thought and post match situation. Kane looked like a little kid, Adamle got into the ring, which was really stupid if you ask me. Jericho immediately cleared the ring and that was it for him. He probably won’t be at Summerslam. Jericho is falling further down the ladder of Raw, and it’s sad. He went from main event, to HBK to lower midcard hell, if not opening match up hell. That is if HBK doesn’t come back for that ultimate revenge. But we’ll have to wait for that after Summerslam. I hope HBK comes back, because Jericho’s wrestling career seems to be at a stand still until the feud is over.

Post Match Kane Segment:

Adamle makes a speech about Kane, he claims that Kane is asking if the monster is alive or dead. The monster being himself, and Adamle does a great job with the crowd. The crowd keeps saying “What” but Adamle plays his cards well. And he keeps pushing Kane about the bag.

Kane pulls out a Rey Mysterio mask! And he laughs a lot before Adamle is left in the ring. This makes no sense, and if it is a way to write off Rey Mysterio off the show or to push his injury recovery a little longer, this is the biggest screw job in WWE history, besides Bret Hart. You want to know a quick way to make your talent obey? Put them into a match up with bigger, stronger guys, only to get injured.

Rey Mysterio can’t possibly maintain a healthy schedule of being if he’s constantly wrestling bigger guys. In WCW he wasn’t as injured because he was wrestling a lot of cruiserweights, who couldn’t accidentally kill the guy. Kane vs. Rey Mysterio, but it can only end badly for Rey Mysterio in the long run. This is stupid, this storyline just got through some stupid motions, that’s for sure.

William Regal defeated Jamie Noble

How did Jamie Noble not get fired? What the heck does he do? Sure, he’s really good and he showed it in this match up. However, there’s no way the WWE is going to push Noble into a title, or beyond the lower card. He’s not even going to get a mid card push if that. Even if he wins every match from this point forward, he can’t get over. Regal makes quick work of Noble via a mistake. Once again, why is Noble still working? He’s the new Funaki, and that’s really sad for Noble. I guess the WWE must pay very well for him to go out there and get beat to hell each night.

Priceless defeated John Cena & Batista

We get the same match we had last week. Cena opens up early, and clears the ring, showing that he’s the true main eventer, making quick work of Priceless. Cena comes across as the heel to Batista’s face, and eventually gets into trouble, before hitting Batista with the hot tag. The match took a speedy turn, and Batista makes the youngsters look really weak. I don’t agree with this at all, but hey, I’m not the booker. The two main eventers really make Priceless look stupid, and I can’t wait for someday Vince McMahon to let the tag team division rise against. Cena keeps pointing to a heel turnover, and I really hope that the WWE turns Cena Heel, because he can get a TON of heat, and he can still still a ton of merchandise. Remember, kids don’t have a lot of disposable income, parents do. So Cena might gain more of a wrestling merch foothold as a heel, just some food for thought that’s all. Batista slaps John Cena for the tag, and here we go! Cena gets in and starts to yell at Batista, Batista then gets head butted by Cena with help from Dibiase running into his back and then Priceless gets the quick roll up for the victory. The new tag team champions jump back in for more, but Cena & Batista work together to fight them off, and the two go their separate ways. Cena is taunted, but heads towards the ramp to a chorus of boos and cheers; Cena comes back to the ring, but there comes security, and they separate the two. Lame.

Raw 8/11/2008 Quick Results:

Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly.
Santino Marella def. WWE Women's Champion Mickie James.
Cryme Tyme def. The Highlanders.
Chris Jericho def. Kane.
William Regal def. Jamie Noble.
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. John Cena & Batista to become the World Tag Team Champions.

There wasn’t a whole lot of wrestling on this show. The little wrestling that was on the show, was really fast and full of short spots. The comedic value of the second match was great, but overall this edition of Raw was horrible for the most part. I am not sure what the WWE is thinking, but the last Raw before the big event this weekend, the WWE could do a lot more to give the fans in attendance some better wrestling. I don’t know, it just seems stupid to me, to have a wrestling show with no wrestling! Sure, there is a little bit of wrestling, but overall nothing worth mentioning. Nothing memorable.

Watching crap like this really makes me miss WCW Nitro. There was a lot of filler, but they had some great matches that were only seen on Nitro and not on the ppv. We’re talking about great title defenses for the tag division, tv title, or even the crusierweight title. The U.S title had some classics on Nitro too, which was great, and it was a great number 2. TNA as number 2 sucks, and Raw this week sucks.

The only thing really worth mentioning about Raw is that Cena and Batista fought each other like Bam Bam Bigelow’s impromptu run ins with Bill Goldberg. Whatever the case is, this show wasn’t all that great, but it was better than nothing. Let’s hope ECW and the rest have a better capacity for wrestling and less for mindless segments.

WWE Smackdown Review 7/25/08 Post Wedding Mayhem

To start off the show we get a recap of last week’s Smackdown ending, and you know what? It’s a lot better condensed.

In Ring Segment 1:

Jeff Hardy enters the VIP Lounge and he’s great on the mic. He says that he’s the odds on favorite to win the battle royal to face Triple H.

Jeff Hardy says he hasn’t seen MVP win a match since he had the U.S Championship.

MVP talks smack about Jeff Hardy’s WWE Magazine cover. MVP starts talking bad about Jeff Hardy, reminding him of his suspension and his house that burned down. Jeff tries to keep up, but MVP is just too good and keeps firing away as the HEEL.

Hardy then looks fed up, and here we go!

Hardy pushes MVP and the fans start to turn, but quickly go to a Hardy chant, MVP quickly gets out of the ring, and looks upset. He walks away, leaving the ring to Jeff Hardy.

I think that MVP looked great in the ring, and Hardy looked genuinely pissed that he was out spoken by MVP, which is a great thing. They generated a lot of heat in a matter of moments, and while I am not a big fan of in ring segments, I did enjoy MVP pushing buttons and it reminded me a lot of what Santino can do on the mic.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

As soon as the music hit, I knew this was going to be a throw away match. Yang hasn’t gotten a decent shake in a long time, and Benjamin has just won the title. Benjamin goes relatively unharmed in this glorified squash match. Benjamin has improved a lot, in what seems like overnight, and he totally drops Yang with his finisher The Pay Dirt for the win. Yang never had a chance.

Backstage Segment 1:

The Edgekins are backstage with Edge. Edge apologizes for last week. The Edgekins says that they don’t need an explanation, and then they run off.

Festus defeated Curt Hawkins

This was a stupid squash match and served no purpose. Festus beat Hawkins fast, and then after the bell, gets beatdown for no apparent reason. Jesse gets dumped out, and this is how we are going to build to Festus and Jesse winning the tag titles. The crowd was not into the ending, what a load of crap. I hate when WWE squashes guys like this for no apparent reason.

Backstage Segment 2:

Edge is talking to his wedding planner backstage, when Bam shows up to ease drop.

Vladimir Koslov defeated Stevie Richards

As soon as I saw Stevie Richards, I knew there was going to be a squash coming up. Koslov comes in there and Foley is correct, Koslov is NOT tested in the ring and much like Matt Morgan on TNA he’s just squashing guys for no particular reason. He’s NOT Goldberg, so I don’t know why they keep pushing his streak.

Richards throws in more moves than most, but still manages to lose this one, as is standard when building up a monster heel.

Koslov squashes Richards in a no surprise match up, and this wrestling fan is getting tired of this stupid continuation. Koslov takes a lot of punishment, I give it that, but eventually just floors Richards with a head butt. One of the worst moves in WWE history.

The Great Khali defeated Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, and MVP

The last three participants made this really interesting for me. Jeff Hardy, Khali and Big Show were left. Hardy got a major push cause he pushed out Big Show somehow, and he had to try and wrestle Khali, but it looked grim for a minute there. Hardy kept fighting off Khali, but Khali kept pushing his weight around. Khali nearly crushed Hardy with a HUGE chop to the head, and then threw him out. Khali looked genuinely annoyed for some reason, and he looked somewhat stunned by Hardy’s offense. I can’t believe how this all turned out.

Khali will face Triple H for the world title at Summerslam. Hardy put on a great show, everyone did really, and the last two didn’t really make sense to me, but we’re going to get Triple H vs. Khali, that’s going to be great! Remember when Big Show was The Giant in WCW? He rolled through the main event talent like crazy ppv after ppv, no one could beat him, well maybe WWE is taking a cue from WCW of old. Maybe Khali will be unstoppable, until the Undertaker comes back to defeat him in a casket match or something.

Post Match:

Triple H comes to ringside, and stares up the Great Khali. Triple H looks ridiculously small compared the giant Khali. Nothing happens here, as they just stare each other into leaving.

R-Truh (K QWIK, Ron The Truth Killings) promo is shown. He’s looking good, that’s for sure.

Michelle McCool defeated Maryese

McCool somehow pulled of this victory, but it was a boring match. Maryese isn’t yet ready to go for a full match, and this one just seemed forced to me. The match wasn’t too long, and really didn’t have a whole lot of high spots. The ending came with some sort of leg lock looking thing, although it isolated the heel of some kind. I don’t know, this match sucked.

Backstage Segment 3:

Vickie Guerrero finally arrives, and Bam shows up. Bam tries to tell Chavo what Edge was up to earlier, but he is interrupted, and we get to commercial.

Backstage Segment 4:

Edge says he’s going to apologize, Bam runs to go tell Vickie.

Pre-Match

Kendrick talks on the mic, J.R says that Kendrick is like the late Brian Pillman…I don’t know about all that.

Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel defeated Shannon Moore

Everytime I see Shannon Moore, I can’t help but wonder how in the world he manages to stay on the payroll. Not so much cause he sucks, but because I could have sworn he was on ECW and/or TNA in recent memory. Oh well. Moore, basically got squashed by Kendrick, and while I think Shannon Moore is good, the WWE didn’t give him a chance to win this match up. Kendrick is good, but not great yet, he needs a challenge to prove himself. This was a standard cruiserweight match up, nothing too crazy, some missed spots here and there, but overall a standard affair with no crowd participation. Brian Kendrick wins with his move, but I’m not sure what it’s called…oh well. It’s sliced bread number 2 no? J.R said that it’s now something else, but I wasn’t paying too much attention.

Backstage Segment 5:

Vickie and Chavo are talking backstage, when Bam interrupts. Bam mixes up Edge’s message and says that Edge will be in the ring to apologize or something. Vickie shakes her head no, and we fade to commercial.

Final In Ring Segment:

Edge is out in the ring alone, ready to call out Vickie Guerrero. The fans boo the crap out of him. I'm surprised that they don't say more "what?". Undertaker chants try to start up, but the crowd quiets down a little. He then asks for Vickie to come out.

Vickie comes out to ring side. The boo's start pouring in as Edge and her are in the ring. This is ridiculous if you ask me.

Edge tries to apologize. He blames the wedding planner for the mistakes, and he claims that the video didn't show that he was taken advantage of.

Vickie reinstates the Undertaker, and announces a Hell in the Cell match up for Summerslam with Undertaker and Edge! The show fades with Edge looking really scared of the Undertaker.

This edition of Smackdown was somewhat upsetting at the end. Seriously, why did the WWE go with this story line as the main event? I was really upset that they didn't have solid wrestling at the end. Wasn't the WWE going to plan less stunts and drama? Oh wait...less wrestling and more drama equals a PG rating? I don't know. The end of Smackdown really made this show sink, regardless of that great match up early on in the show.

The tag division looks weak again, but I'm sure they are setting up something for later. I can't stand the Festus in ring scenarios, but I guess I have to just deal with them.

Koslov's streak is lame.

MVP on the mic was great, and only Santino can probably match his wits.

I thought for sure Hardy was going to get a major push, but instead Khali was great, and I want to see that match up at Summerslam. I don't know if Triple H can pull off a clean win over Khali. I'm not sure what's going to go down, but it's going to set up something great, I'm sure.

Shelton Benjamin is looking great. I am glad to see that he's getting a push, even if it is minor.

Squashing the cruiserweights on WWE television is stupid to me. I really wish that they would bring back the cruiserweight title and that they would really allow the smaller guys to get a chance. WCW did so great back in the day, TNA is allowing more small guys to get a shot, and overall WWE could definitely do something great. However, it's not happening anytime soon, as the WWE continues to make bus loads of cash on the existing product. Why change things up if you're making so much money right?

The reinstatement of the Undertaker on Smackdown was a bit odd to me. I kept reading that HHH didn't like Undertaker and they couldn't be on the same show because of their past dealings. I do recall Undertaker beating Triple H at Wrestlemana X7. The Undertaker will most likely be dominant until it sets up the inevitable Triple H vs. Undertaker match where Undertaker finally loses. Edge and Undertaker at Summerslam is going to be interesting, and Hell in the Cell? All I know is that someone better fall off the top of that cage, otherwise it's going to be lackluster. Foley made that match famous, and even Shawn Michaels took a nice fall.

The divas belt looks cheesy, and the divas are not improving. Give me the KNOCKOUTS any day in comparison to the stupid looking, cookie cutter divas.

This week Smackdown was stronger than last week, but it's not that great. Tna, to me, was better, and ECW is looking stronger than all the shows.

Trevor Murdoch Fired

Looks like Trevor Murdoch is the latest WWE superstar to get fired. I noticed he lost weight, and was stuck with a crappy singing gimmick, but now, just a few weeks after getting drafted to Smackdown, he's gone.

No more Trevor Murdoch on WWE television.

Looks like I was right again: The WWE Hates Tag Teams.

Smackdown Review 6/13/2008

Smackdown rolled through yet again, with another show, but this time, unlike last week, it was a little boring. Sure we saw some interesting match ups, but overall, I just wasn’t really into this show. Maybe Raw was better this week, with all the possibilities and Vince getting rick rolled.

Morrison and Finlay had an interesting match up, but I hope this is not going to be the beginning of the end of the tag team championship reign of the current champions, or the end of the Smackdown tag team belts.

The last time Finlay and his son got into the gold, we lost the Cruiserweight championship and it has never come back, yet. Could this be the beginning of the end? Maybe. Finlay loses a lackluster match, cleanly.

Mark Henry squashed Tommy Dreamer, and further proving my point that Tommy Dreamer really is dead to the wrestling world. It must be nice to get a paycheck that involves about five minutes of wrestling, mostly just getting beat down by whatever “monster” of the month there is at the time.

Cherry and Maryse put on an ok match, but it was short and lacked a lot of what the divas have in potential.

MVP immediately squashes CM Punk, after Punk was backstage threatening Edge. Looks like CM Punk is just using that brief case for now, but we all know that Hardy deserves that case rightfully. Once again, WWE throws punk a bone only to steal it back in the same motion.

U.S. Champion Matt Hardy wrestled Chuck Palumbo, or Undertaker Lite, as I like to call him. It was a boring match up, but it is nice to see Hardy moving towards the upper card…but I doubt he’ll get a major title run anytime soon. Unless you consider the U.S Championship a major title right now.

Jesse & Festus vs. Deuce & Domino bored me. I don’t care about either team at this point.

Batista stopped The Great Khali. Proving that we don’t need the Undertaker around. Great…just great.

WCW Smackdown Getting Worse Review 6/6/2008

Finlay def. Chuck Palumbo

The worst Brawl I've ever seen in my life. Chuck Palumbo should get fired, he's such a horrible wrestler, and the gimmick he has is just lame. NO one cares about his "slash" gimmick, especially me. Finlay though, he's over, way over.

The Great Khali def. Deuce & Domino

Once again, the WWE has buried the tag team division. If I have a gripe with WWE it is the sheer fact that they HATE the tag team division. Khali comes oin, beats the hell out of the two former tag champions, and BOOM it's over.

The announcers kept talking about how Undertaker is not around to defeat or stop Khali! What a load of crap!

If the WWE continues to kill the tag teams, federations like TNA could score a major victory.

Cousin Sal def. Santino Marella

This was a throwaway match.

What did Santino do to deserve getting dropped like this? He's jobbing to Cousin Sal? OH man is this stupid.

Natalya def. Michelle McCool, Cherry, Kelly Kelly, Victoria, Maryse and Layla (Golden Dreams Match)

I won't make a golden showers joke about this stupid match, but once again WWE proves that the DIVAS can't wrestle and aren't worth watching.

Vladimir Kozlov def. Jimmy Wang Yang

This match sucked so much, it made me want to stop watching wrestling altogether. Kozlov sucks, and Yang gets buried!

The cruiserweight division sucks, specifically because there is NO REASON WHY WWE SHOULD HAVE THESE CRUISERWEIGHTS!

Fire all of them and send them to TNA, where they might care about their division.

WcW's division flourished so much, and yet WWE has always found a way to screw it up.

Kozlov sucks.

I wanted to smash my television.

Batista, Colin Delaney, Funaki & Nunzio def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder

The numbers were definitely stacked against Batista, and I didn't think he could pull it off. However, seeing Colin, FUnaki and Nunzio take on the main eventers made me kind of smile. Colin especially, that guy is an inspiration to jobbers...and Batista...wow...Batista really showed that he can work his ass off if need be.

Overall Smackdown was ok, there was some good action, but there were a lot of instances where I hated watching this show. I really dislike the burial of the Tag division, and I hate the divas golden dreams match up, as well as the Kozlov killing angle. He's not Goldberg....

OH and I very much was saddened as a fan to hear Foley say that Goldberg was a waste of money for WWE.

Lame.

Goldberg was misused on many occasions in the WWE.

To prove that the Cruiserweights can work, here's a classic cruiserweight match up from WCW!

The WWE is spoiling what could very well be another Attitude era in ratings, attention, and match ups, and it is just poor quality on their part.

Chris Jericho vs. Billy Kidman...wcw matchup!

ECW Poop Results 5/27/2008

ECW came through with yet another show of stupidity and bad commentary, but it couldn’t help itself…it’s just how it is, right?

Tommy Dreamer lost to Big Show. A jobber is all the original ECW wrestler really is.

Mike Knox is still on ECW? Kofi Kingston bounces back from last weeks loss, and actually makes ECW kind of worth watching.

Chavo defeats C.M. Punk! What? Punk is definitely not doing so well lately, especially since losing the ECW championship, and I’m not sure how Chavo got the rub on this one, considering he also has done the jobber role this year, also since losing the ECW championship.

Why does the WWE continue to bury the tag champions? I’m not sure. Kane didn’t win this match, but come on, seriously, come on!

Mike Adamle’s commentary is almost bearable, but still is a line below horrible. I remember when Michael Cole started, I hated him too, but he was never as bade as Adamle.

Rumors are swirling that ECW may not exist in a few months, and in fact, with ratings so low, ECW might merge with Raw on Monday nights. We’ll see what happens.

We also saw a glimpse of what may be to come, Kane vs. Big Show? It could happen.

Raw Is War 5/26/2008

Raw was actually worthwhile this time, in some ways.

I didn’t care for the initial talking segment. They should have ripped each other to shreds, and forgotten the mic skills. To quote the joker, why so serious?

The women are working hard on their short comings, and this match proved it. This is a moment of progress, but overall, not the greatest match ever, but good enough to provide this amazing bridge, submission.

The tag titles defended? YES! This was definitely a good thing, but the match was a little short, and I knew there was not going to be a title change.

The best thing that came out of this match was that Ted Dibiase Jr. came out, and looks to be another Randy Orton, but can he work? Time will tell. Who will be his tag team partner?

The tag match had the crowd really into it. The crowd was really hot for this match, and the ending, well, the ending had the heels over, but man…what a crowd reaction to the entire match.

Carlito Jobs for Kennedy, and Kennedy gets a major beat down from The pirate…or whatever his new gimmick is.

I thought for sure we were going to see a Y2J turn, and we should have, but instead he shows mercy on his opponent, although the match was shorter than expected.

Raw wasn’t half bad, I liked it a lot in many ways, but I would have liked to see more action, that’s for sure.

There was a lot of commercials for One Night Stand, they ran through the card a few times through the show, and had a segment with Roddy Piper training Cousin Sal for a match with Santino.

I was also tired of the Rambo commercials, that's for sure.

ECW's 100th Episode Cashes In 5/6/2008

ECW steamed through their 100th episode and I was quite surprised at how much show was actually packed into a one hour episode. The show featured some good match ups, but ultimately let me down in the end.

Tommy Dreamer Trash Can Delivery

ECW actually had an extreme match for once! Tommy Dreamer was in his own element last night wrestling Mike Knox and I was really rooting for him, but it was to no avail, he lost miserably.

Tommy Dream is a jobber

Tommy Dreamer is nothing more than a jobber at this point. He’s the new school Barry Horowitz.

Matt Striker wrestles? Apparently so, and to build up Kofi Kingston a bit more, they are pushing him through the ECW roster in order to get to the title, or jump ship to another show. Kingston has got some movies, but overall…he’s no Shelton Benjamin!

Kofi Kingston beatdown

Benjamin and Kingston will most likely continue to feud as Benjamin’s beat down on Kingston last night had shades of old school professional wrestling; which makes me happy for a change.

Who knew Armando Estrada could wrestle? Who knew that WWE would actually sign an independent talent? Who knew they would allow him to win over the general manager of Ecw?

Not I, that’s for sure.

Delaney somehow managed to mop up Estrada, pick up the contract and join the superstars of wrestling; and the countdown begins to when they will bury Delaney and his hopes of joining the elite crew in the main event scene.

One thing’s for sure, the kid can bump like Foley.

Delaney Bump

The main event wasn’t all that great, but it was enough to keep me interested. The thing that disturbed me most, was not that the match was just a beatdown on Chavo, or that the new guy is getting pushed into the ECW main event scene; it was the parting shots of ECW as it went off the air.

The WWE is foreshadowing a match between Kane & Punk vs. The Tag Team Champions The Miz and Morrison. This of course is going to mean that the titles will once again get hot shotted to a temporary, non “tag team” partnership.

Morrison and Miz vs Cm Punk and Kane

I’m already hating ECW…although they managed to not screw up their much anticipated and publicized 100th episode.

Smackdown Review 3/21/08

Y2J and MVP did a great job hyping a match for next week. I'm actually excited about the match up. I hope wwe continues to push those two on the mic, because they are really good together, and MVP, despite his outfit, is actually really good.

Chavo getting beat down by the Undertaker was lame. I thought for sure Edge was going to save him.

The Tag-titles around miz and morrison makes me mad. BUt I don't want them to go to the glorified jobbers in Jesse and Festus...we need a real team.

No Vickie Guerrero, which was nice.

Wasn't Mark Henry the resident big-man Jobber? At least that's what I thought. He would be called in whenever Batista or Undertaker needed a quick loss. As a matter of fact Mark Henry's "monster" record is really looking like the worst win/loss record in professional wrestling today. Seriously, Mark Henry is a horrible heel...

but for some reason on Smackdown, Mark Henry got his second wind, and obliterated the ring of guys in the Wrestlemania battle royal. I haven't seen Henry so dominant in a long time.

Is Henry going to be turning over a new leaf?

I sure hope not, that guy is so slow. He has like 2 moves, and then he has the overdrive mode where he injures whoever needs to get surgery..aka...Rey Mysterio etc.

Smackdown was really cool, but come on...Henry?

Batista mopping up a real tag-team made me upset too. I still believe wwe hates tag teams.

No sign of Matt Hardy. The divas arm wrestling was stupid. They aren't even eye candy to me.

Overall Smackdown was good, and I enjoyed it, however, I'm concerned over the future of Mark Henry's involvement on the show. I hope he loses at Wrestlemania, or he gets injured, because I can't stand him coming back and dominating the roster like he did on Smackdown.
