WWE Monday Night Raw 2/29/2016 Leap Year Edition

When will they start a Monday Night Raw that doesn’t have a long intro promo? This time around Triple H shows up and gets cheered. You can hear the audio has been messed with on the HULU version, which is the only way I can watch this right now. Triple H is to fight Dean Ambrose. That’s it.

Sasha Banks versus Becky Lynch

This match ended with both women pinned, so that means that no winner would be going to Wrestlemania? No, they’ll probably do a triple threat.

Stephanie McMahon’s speech went to hell. She started to talk random BS and the crowd let her have it. Boring. There’s a lot of talking on Raw these days, why not wrestle more? Just saying.

Y2AJ defeated The New Day

This was a good quality match, but was cut short somehow. Does this mean that AJ is going to end up getting swerved on by Y2J? Or will the New Day win next week? Not a bad match, not a great one, but it moved the point forward to yet another match with AJ Styles and Chris Jericho if you ask me.

Vince McMahon and the Undertaker got into the ring to talk, and wow, I wish I could earn a paycheck for working part time and just saying very little. Undertaker said he’ll hurt Shane, big deal.

The Big Show defeated Kevin Owens by count out

What a horrible display of a match. Even stevens booking huh? What a joke.

Dean Ambrose versus Alberto Del Rio No Contest

This match ended with Triple H coming down and then giving him a pedigree and setting up a match for the title. But who cares, right? I don’t know. The shovel is huge that Triple H carries, that’s all.

Raw was bad. Terrible. I’m not sure what to say. Ambrose is over, Reigns is not, that’s about it.

Chris Jericho in March Issue of Men's Fitness

I got a cool email from Men's Fitness in regards to Chris Jericho's appearance in Men's Fitness in March. Here's a cover of the magazine, make sure you check it out.

Chris Jericho in March Issue of Men's Fitness

WWE SUPERSTAR CHRIS JERICHO REFLECTS ON HIS PAST AND HOW THE RING PREPARED HIM FOR HOLLYWOOD
IN THE MARCH ISSUE OF MEN’S FITNESS
On Newsstands January 25th Nationwide

NEW YORK, NY—He’s a television personality, actor, best selling author and one of WWE’s biggest stars. Now Chris Jericho reflects on his humble beginnings as a struggling wrestler and the path that led him to success in the new March issue of Men’s Fitness. “In those days, there was no Internet, no cell phone. I was a smaller guy coming from a small town. How does anyone become a wrestler? I just figured that God had this plan for me,” he says in the issue. "When I didn’t have enough money for gas to drive the 25 minutes to Calgary, I worked out in a barn. Pull-ups on the wooden struts and hay bale curls. Chugging raw eggs and devouring liver for extra protein. You do what you have to do to keep in shape.”

Following are highlights from his interview in the March issue of Men’s Fitness, on newsstands January 25th nationwide.

On What Influence Him To Be A Wrestler

“I loved the pomp and circumstance. It was like a play between good and bad guys.”

On How Life In The Ring Prepared Him To Tackle A Career In Hollywood

“ We still gotta take the bumps and bruises,’ he says. ‘It’s show-business boot camp. You learn how to behave in front of a live crowd. In this day and age, it’s not how big your biceps are, it’s about connecting with fans. It’s like being an actor onstage.‘ ”

On His Challenges To Eat Right During Hard Times

“You’d go into convenience stores and buy hard-boiled eggs, bottled water and some apples and that’s your healthy dinner. If you’re lucky.”

Trainer Chris Gonzalez On Jericho’s Strong Return to the Ring

“When he returned to the WWE, the other guys thought he looked bigger and leaner than when he left.”

You can read more about this, including some work out tips, via Men's Fitness Online right now.

WWE Monday Night Raw 3/13/09 Review

The show opened up with Batista, talking about how he wants revenge for the punt that caused Batista to be out for a while, 4 months ago. Batista called out Randy Orton and was ready to come out and chase down Randy Orton. However, Shane McMahon showed up to ringside to talk a little strategy with Batista. Triple H showed up and said that Randy Orton was his. Vickie Guerrero showed up, in a wheelchair, and she said that at Backlash the team will have their revenge match. Guerrero made a match for later, where the winner will either get a shot at Orton or no one will face Orton. That was that. Not exactly the most stellar of beginnings to Raw, but I had not choice but to enjoy it.

Rey Mysterio defeated Evan Bourne

They keep giving away this match for free. I believe that this is the second time We’ve seen this match up. This time around it seemed like Evan Bourne was grounding Mysterio for a good portion of the match, with rest holds and quick combat, that seemed to have the veteran a little distracted. Right when I thought that Evan Bourne would get the rub, he lost to Rey Mysterio with some quick moves and the splash. Rey Mysterio wins an easy one here.

Kane defeated The Brian Kendrick

Kane hasn’t had a good push in a long time. Kendrick has been on a losing streak lately, so I wasn’t sure which side to go for in this match up. Kane squashed The Brian Kendrick and that was that.

Michelle McCool, Maryse, and Natalya defeated Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Melina

This match started with a huge melee. This match technically didn’t even start until the bell run and Mickie James got tore up initially. That was an interesting power move from Michelle McCool, dropping Mickie James to her knees with what seemed to be a very stiff shot. Mickie James was doing well in there, and I finally gave her some credit, cause she was making things interesting for the first time in WWE Divas history. Mickie James knocked herself out with a top rope miss, and Michelle McCool capitalized, winning this match up without anyone else joining the match! What a load of crap. The best start to a divas match ends with a terrible copout of an ending.

John Cena defeated Jack Swagger

Did you really think that Jack Swagger would defeat Cena? I sure didn’t, so the illusion was taken away for me in this match up. I remember in the 80’s when people in the undercard and other champions had legitimate chances at defeating the champion. While the illusion was attempted here, you just knew that the bastard ECW champion wouldn’t defeat John Cena. Cena hit his chorus of finishing moves, much to the approval of the audience and of course, the inevitable. WRONG! Swagger got out of Cena’s finisher and shoved Cena into the ring post, shoulder first. For a few moments, I thought it was over, but nope…The Attitude Adjustment hit and then the STFU! Swagger tapped immediately, and another champion squashed. John Cena wins via submission.

At this point in the night, the drafts have favored Raw completely. Are they going to end Smackdown? It sure seems this way, because Raw is getting all the main eventers. As soon as Triple H was announced to be drafted, Edge came and attacked John Cena from behind. I still think that Smackdown is getting the weaker show at this point.

The Great Khali defeated Santino

This one was odd. If Santino lost this match he would have to kiss Khali on the Khali kiss cam. Santino was squashed easily, he got worked and it wasn’t even close. I personally am tired of Santino not getting a fair shake at wrestling, but he’s still funny, so we’ll let it pass.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz

I recall saying that Kofi Kingston was going to be the next big thing. It turns out that he’s not getting the fair shake that I thought he would. Kofi and The Miz went back and forth in this match up, with Kofi looking like he might be defeated at several times in this match up, however he connected with some great shots, to make this one interesting. The Miz had a few counters in this match up and I’m completely surprised at how far he’s come along since first coming into the WWE as a Reality Show reject. The match ended fast with a few counters and near falls and it was all over. Kofi got the win.

Edge won a inter-brand Battle Royal

This match was your standard Battle Royal. Nothing too crazy to report here. Edge won with a clever move of dropping the top rope while Big Show ran to him and was thrown out. Like I said, nothing too crazy here.

Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin

The Killswitch was heard round the world as Christian defeated Shelton Benjamin. I thought for sure Christian was going to win the belt when he returned but alas, he’s still in midcard hell for the most part. This match was a quick one, mostly burying Benjamin yet again. Christian though, deserves so much more upon his return, but oh well.

Matt Hardy defeated CM Punk via Disqualification

Hardy and CM Punk have faced each other before, and the two work well together. I like the way these two put good matches together, if they are given enough time. However, this match wasn’t given time as Jeff Hardy ran down and fought off Matt Hardy. Jeff was ready to pounce on Matt from the top rope but Matt ran away. CM Punk was left in the ring. Matt Hardy won this one, but only by DQ.

Chris Jericho defeated Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer has been a hard worker for WWE for a long time. However, he hasn’t gotten a fair shake in a long time. Maybe it is because he’s an ECW original, and the only original left on that brand that was really a main factor in the original incarnation from the East Coast. Now with Taz gone, it’s no wonder that the ECW brand looks to be on the chopping block yet again. Jericho was putting on a nice show here, allowing Dreamer very little opportunities to get in good action. Dreamer did put on a good fight, but as he came off the top rope, Jericho hit the Codebreaker in mid air! It was curtains for Tommy Dreamer.

Triple H, Shane McMahon, and Batista defeated Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase Jr.

You got your standard six man tag team match here. Nothing too crazy until Triple H tagged himself into the match by slapping Batista. Shane McMahon speared Batista out of the blue! Triple H hit the Pedigree, and this match was odd. He will face Randy Orton next week solo, but Batista was taken out as collateral or intentional damage! Batista was not happy at this, and maybe this will turn Batista Heel or maybe Triple H will turn Heel, I don't know. This was a weird way to end Raw.

The results are now going to go first, then the review...so there you go.

WWE Wrestlemania 25 Results

C.M. Punk won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Santino (a) won a divas 25 women battle royal
Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper
Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper
Matt hardy defeated Jeff Hardy
Rey Mysterio defeated JBL for the Intercontinental Championship
Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels
John Cena defeated The Big Show and Edge for the WWE Championship
The Colons defeated John Morrison & The Miz in a WWE Tag Team Unification match up
Triple H defeated Randy Orton.

Here we go, I didn’t think I would make it, but here we go. The big event tonight is live from a near sold out Texas stadium. I heard on a podcast that this show is not sold out and that there are 25,000 tickets unsold as of Thursday. However, last minute ticket discounts, giveaways and more probably filled the stadium. I’m sure live notes will change things up a little. We’ll have to see what happens, with that. I’m glad I made it back in time to check this mess out, so that I can review it for you. If you’re out there and reading this, please buy something via amazon.com so that I can pay for this ppv, it was 20 dollars more than the average ppv, and really is breaking my bank. So yeah…chip in for your old pay sirjorge via the amazon links on the site, I get like 4% of what you buy, which isn’t much, but man, this isn’t cheap for me.

It has a good opening segment, asking what the best wrestlemania moment ever was…but who cares? I liked it wrestlemania 6 Hogan vs Warrior, I nearly cried when Hogan lost that match. Seriously, that was a tough one. Some random chick from the Pussycat Dollas was doing “American the Beautiful” lame. The best opening I’ve ever seen was Willie Nelson at Wrestlemania 7 in Los Angeles, when my dad took me. It was the L.A Sports Arena and Willie Nelson had a Wwe Heavyweight title around his waste, which was awesome. I marked out huge for Willie, even though I don’t own any of his albums. Wrestlemania 7 was awesome.

And away we go…Wrestlemania 25

**NOTE**

Apparently I didn’t get the Colon’s Tag Team title match, but they won the match up and are the Unified Tag Team Champions. Just so you know.

First match was Money in the Bank

The Participants:

C.M Punk
Finlay
MVP
Kane
Mark henry
Christian
Shelton Benjamin
Kofi Kingston

C.M. Punk won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match

First for the highlight reel was Kofi Kingston jumping over a mid waist high ladder and delivering a dropkick immediately afterwards! He may have hurt his knee though. Jim Ross claims that Reliant Stadium is sold out! Kane and Henry were first to go after the case but were melee’d by the rest of the guys out there. Kane was afraid to bump, that was apparent. Shelton Benjamin took a huge dive into all other competitors off a 25 ladder! Afterwards, Mark Henry was at the top rope ready to launch, but he didn’t make it. Hornswoggle brought in a baby ladder and was climbing to the top trying to reach the belts! Hornswoggle took a major dive off the top rope onto all the competitors. Kofi Jumped through a ladder ala Jackie Chan! That was insane, if you missed it man….wow…Kofi also caught a nut shot via Finlay’s baby ladder. I thought for sure Christian had this thing with a clever way to save himself from falling, but C.M Punk was there to stop him, then Kane was there to win it, but Punk once again clutched a hold of the briefcase and wins! C.M Punk gets it! CM PUNK WINS!

Kid Rock did a performance at this point. Not really my thing, but whatever.

The Divas started to march out at this point, for their match up, I lost track of who was out there cause I got distracted.

My ppv channel froze on me at this point. Seriously, this sucked, but while trying to call Comcast, the video came back on and I stopped calling them.

I’m not sure how many people from the past were in here.

Santino (a) won a divas 25 women battle royal

Victoria, Mickey James, Gail Kim, Jillian, Sunny, Maryse, Katie Lea, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, Santino (dressed as a girl) , Michelle McCool, Melina

There might have been others though, I couldn’t really see because Comcast trashed my feed halfway through the match up. This match was standard women’s battle royal and it ended up with Santino, dressed up as a girl winning the match up! SANTINO! That’s right, Santino dressed as a woman eliminated everyone!

Chris Jericho defeated Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper

Another hiccup had me missing the first part of this match up. I can’t believe this crap from Comcast…this thing is costing me a fortune and they keep messing it up! I join the match midway through and Jericho is getting worked. Piper got hit with elimination first or second, I don’t know, Snuka was out by the time I realized what was going on. Jericho was doing well, and Ricky Steamboat came back in with a house of fire worth of chops to Jericho. There was a lot of near falls with this match up and I thought Steamboat would get the victory but Jericho hit the Codebreaker and won the match up! That’s right, Jericho hit the Codebreaker on Steamboat for the win! Ric Flair got into the ring and the two exchanged blows like crazy, but it was too little too late.

Post match, Jericho called out Mickey Rourke, and he obliged by coming out into the ring! That’s right, he came out and entered the middle of the ring! Mickey Rourke knocked out Jericho with one punch and it was over.

Matt hardy defeated Jeff Hardy

Here we go, the war of the brothers. These guys took this match to extremes, but it wasn’t crazy. It wasn’t too much, it was just right for these two. The highlight for me was when Jeff Set up a table then put Matt on it, then put another table on top of him! I haven’t seen this since Bash at the Beach 1998 when Saturn set this up against Raven! Jeff Dove superman style through the top layer, to Matt and broke the bottom layer right in half! Jeff tried to jump a 20 foot ladder onto Matt, but that was a no go, Jeff might of knocked himself out after this one. He jumped like 20 feet, no joke, he was moving, but slowly, he is going to feel that later. Matt Hardy put this one to rest with a chair shot, and it was all over.

Rey Mysterio defeated JBL for the Intercontinental Championship

Rey Mysterio came out dressed as The Joker, with his mask completely covered, which was awesome. Rey Mysterio won this match up fast and easy, hit the 619 and it was all over. JBL got squashed.

Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels

Alright, this has to be match of the night! Yeah, this match was insane right here, it started off average and it had a few moments of boredom, but then things started to pick up and then we started to see some great stuff. Michaels missing the Moonsault was great, then if that wasn’t enough, Undertaker jumped over the top rope, Michaels pushed a camera guy in the way, and Taker landed on his head! This wasn’t a botch, but man did it look scary! Seriously, Undertaker may have knocked himself out completely with this one, and the Camera guy was dead, it was harsh. You heard a huge crack, which was insane too. Undertaker nearly got counted out because of this huge fall, but it was bad. HBK jumped back in and then hit one of the hardest Chokeslam’s I’ve ever seen in wrestling. He got a HUGE one, and it nearly killed HBK, at least it looked that way. Michaels hit Sweet Chin Music and the streak was definitely going and gone in this one, I thought it was going to be over, and Undertaker barely kicked out. The Last Ride was hit, but HBK kicked out of that too! THE LAST RIDE was hit and it sounded huge! HBK managed to kick out, and one must have really considered that HBK might in fact have ETERNAL LIFE! So the dead man might be outwitted by HBK, I know I was a believer at this point. Michaels got caught up in the ropes trying to get back into the ring like he did at the Royal Rumble, and Undertaker hit the biggest Tombstone piledriver I’ve ever seen in my life, seriously, the biggest one ever hit. This thing was so huge, and it wasn’t enough. Comcast shut me down again, but only for a moment, but the time it came back HBK hit Sweet Chin Music again! He hit it again, and it wasn’t enough to put away The Undertaker! It wasn’t enough and both guys were just completely stuck at this point. Michaels tried for one more moonsault but was caught by The Undertaker and dropped HBK on his head. One more Tombstone and it was all over. It was all over.

John Cena defeated The Big Show and Edge for the WWE Championship

John Cena had a TON of John Cena clones come down the ramp for him, and it was a cool site to see, this was a really cool intro. I don’t like John Cena but the million Cena clones was a sight to see in this match up, which is incredible. You gotta admit that was kind of cool, there were so many Cena clones, it was cool.
This match was ok at best. It had a lot of different outcomes were teased during this match up and it had edge looking the strongest. However, Chavo Guerrero got involved, and then it was mopped up. Big Show got caught up in the ropes a lot of times in this match up, as a way to isolate him, which was smart. Vickie got speared at one point too. In much predictable fashion, John Cena defeated Edge and the Big show to win this one.

Wrestlemania is announced to being in Arizona March 28th 2010.

Austin ran down and drank beer with Jim Ross and just had fun. The crowd went nuts.

Triple H defeated Randy Orton.

So now, we finish this thing, we finally get the big rematch. The last time I remember reviewing these two, Triple H broke Randy Orton’s collar bone and won the match up. This time it’s supposed to be personal, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one turns out…so I thought. Triple H hit the Pedigree early in the match up, but couldn’t pin Orton, and this match took another slow turn, as these two work slowly. The match took your standard moments with Triple H getting thrown over the side of the stage into the audience, but he made it back before the ten count. The match took a turn for the macabre when Triple H started to try and dismantle Orton outside, but was thwarted by the Ref’s warning that he would be disqualified if he were to continue. This was ludicrous, because he then got on top of a table with Orton! This led into the backdrop onto a table. The Ref took a bump, and boy did he sell it, like it was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Orton brought out the sledgehammer, and this thing was looking to end here. Triple H punted the crap out of Orton! Triple H ran and hit Orton with his own punt as Orton was trying to get back in the ring! Triple H then hit Orton, while he was down with right hands to an obscene point and nearly got himself disqualified. Triple H then hit the Pedigree for the win. Triple H defeated Randy Orton!

This was probably one of the worst Wrestlemania's I've ever seen. I didn't really like it, except for the HBK Taker match. This was lame.

WWE Armageddon 2008 Results and Review

I had to purchase the last WWE ppv of the year, as I couldn’t help it, and was hoping for greatness, and here is how WWE decided to end their ppv year:

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Matt Hardy

Kozlov is being wasted s the opener to this last ever ppv of 2008 and the wasn’t too bad. The match was heavily one sided for the most part, Kozlov was the clear favorite to win, if not by the fans, by the backstage folks. This match up was entertaining as well, looking to see if Hardy could match Kozlov’s strength. Hardy hit the ring post with his head, and Kozlov hit spinebuster chokeslam combination and defeats Matt Hardy! Sad. Kozlov wins again and we’re probably looking at the next champion, if not at least a secondary title holder.

Cm Punk defeated Rey Mystrio Jr.

This match started off really slow, both men were putting each other through a series of chain wrestling moves, which wasn’t half bad, but the crowd wasn’t really into it. The match really started going great towards the end as each person put together some great counters to each others finishers, and both men had busted noses when it was all said and done. Rey Mysterio landed nose first into Cm Punk’s knee and it was bad, the best GTS I’ve ever seen, and a well deserved victory, an amazing match at the finish. Wow, I loved this one, and now Punk is going on to fight William Regal, good stuff here folks, I liked it.

Finlay defeated Mark Henry in a Belfast brawl

Here is your standard Street Fight and it was interesting to say the least. Mark Henry dominated the match early on, and then the plunder came into the match up and the ring looked like he old ECW days. Trash cans all over the floor, and weapons left to right, with a finale of Hornswoggle helping out Finlay to win the match up. This match wasn’t too crazy in the end and Finlay won with a little help, and that was all. A forgettable street fight of sorts, as it didn’t really get too crazy or emphatic.

Batista defeated Randy Orton

Orton and Batista put on the best match they could, as the two really got into a fight over the rest holds. Batista was doing well enough that Orton wasn’t dominating this match up completely, but it was the younger star that was hitting heavy amidst an obviously fatigued Batista. Orton looked to be on the road to win this one, but one quick mistake and Batista dropped Orton on his head with the Batista bomb for win! Batista defeated Randy Orton in this intense match up that left Batista looking like the defeated man not Orton.

Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and Maria defeated Victoria, Jillian, Natalya, and Maryse

This was weird to me. But oh well, whatever, the divas all looked great in their Christmas outfits, but I’d rather see good wrestling than eye candy. Ths was a terrible website, and the end came with Michelle McCool giving her finisher to Jillian and it was all over. It was ok at best. This was boring to me, but the girls looked amazing.

John Cena defeated Chris Jericho

This is about a good of a match as you’re going to get out of John Cena. Jericho really pushed him, and he really did a lot to maintain his position in this match as he really rocked Jericho through a lot of power spots, counters, and overall fast paced wrestling moments. Jericho looked poised to win with the code breaker, the walls of Jericho and even the Lionsault but it was Cena in the end with a STFU to get the win over an over zealous Chris Jericho. John Cena, much to the dismay of a lot of adult wwe fans, wins the match and holds on to the title yet again.

Jeff Hardy defeated Edge and Triple H in the wwe championship match

This match was all over the place, and I thought for sure Triple H would find a way to hold down the roster, but alas, when the dust settled it wasn’t so. This match was incredible, there were a lot of near falls a lot of back and forth and when it was all said and done Jeff Hardy defeated both men to win the wwe title! That’s right, Jeff Hardy defeated everyone, even after Kozlov interfered, Matt Hardy interfered, and Edge and Triple H both hit their finishers, somehow, out of nowhere Jeff Hardy landed the swanton for the win! We have a new champion and it’s JEFF HARDY!

A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex Now in Paperback

I was at Borders and Barne's and Noble this weekend and picked up the new Bret Hart book and it was SIGNED! That's right, it was a SIGNED COPY of the new Bret Hart Book! Rad!

But this post is about something even better! You can now get the Chris Jericho book in paperback format for 7.99! That's right, here's the details from amazon.com...and you can order it now! SO do it and help out a brotha!

This funny, insightful and compulsively readable autobiography by professional wrestling superstar Lion Heart Jericho matches fellow wrestler Mick Foley's bestselling Have a Nice Day! Jericho reached international stardom after joining the media juggernaut World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly WWF) in 1999, but this book neglects his many accomplishments since then, such as his legendary same-night defeat of wrestling powerhouses the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to become the WWE's first undisputed heavyweight champion. Instead, Jericho recounts the fascinating story of his early years—in effect, a short history of world wrestling trends since 1960—from his brutal early training in his native Canada through finally being invited to join the WWE. Jericho ignores or glosses over controversial topics like steroid use, preferring to keep things light and cheery. His hilarious and detailed descriptions of his many bouts, especially his 1995 calling card match in Japan before 10,000 fans, will leave readers hoping for a sequel. (

Chris Jericho is the first undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the WWE and WCW, and has been called one of the fifty greatest wrestlers of all time. Now retired, he is writing his memoir, telling the story of his journey from wrestling school in Canada to his time in leagues in Mexico and Japan to his big break in the WCW. He'll dish the dirt on how he worked his way through the ranks alongside major wrestling stars like Chris Benoit and Lance Storm to become a major superstar.

Raw 8/18/2008 Results and Review Y2J Night After

Chris Jericho In Ring Segment:

I haven’t seen someone have so much heat with the crowd for a non-wrestling event, than Chris Jericho on this program. Everyone hates Chris Jericho right now, and his speech didn’t help matters much, because he came out and gave the world’s most scummy speech about how he wasn’t sorry at all and that HBK was at fault for his wife getting hit in the face at Summerslam. Y2J is seriously the most hated man in professional wrestling right now, and it’s finally getting good. We need more heels to do this sort of thing; no not hit girls, but to generate heat from non-wrestling things. It could create an incredible amount of drama for the ppv’s and get buyrates, and ratings for sure. If you recall, this is how Andre the Giant turned heel (interview segment turn on Hogan), and so did guys like Savage and others. It was in an interview segment or a non wrestling event that made them great heels. Of course, the wrestling had something to do with it as well, but their actions outside of the ring created a monster heel scenario that couldn’t be ignored. This Chris Jericho push is definitely a huge thing. It’s about time we had a stronger heel than just petty interview time in ring and random empty threats. Y2J’s promo is spectacular, and for a non wrestling event, he really does a great job selling what I am calling “the punch heard round the world”!

Batista defeated Paul Burchill

Way to go WWE! You squashed your up and coming talent! I had initial thoughts that maybe Burchill would get in some great offense and put on a show since Batista was suppose to be selling his so called “injured” leg, but instead he just beat the crap out of Paul Burchill for no apparent reason! Seriously, what is the WWE thinking here? Paul was getting a mini-feud and even a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, but now? Now he’s getting squashed in matches against Batista, one night after Batista fought Cena in what King Jerry Lawler says was the best match ever! This is just the wrong move, in my opinion, and I don’t understand why the WWE doesn’t believe in their up and coming talent at all. It’s about time the WWE wakes up. This was just a squash match, and this is the norm for WWE these days.

Mike Adamle Introduces Primo Colon:

Mike Adamle introduces Carlito’s brother, Primo Colon, only to run off and try to talk to Cena. Cena then runs into Batista and tells him the better man won, but that it was just last night. Primo Colon? What happened to Carlito? No wonder the WWE fired 10 or so guys, they needed money to pay these new guys coming in…unless Primo is just another squash guy like the Smackdown show last week. Whatever the case is, we have a new talent, which will most likely get squashed sooner than later. I’m tired of seeing new guys, no name guys, get introduced and then get passed up for other talent. I don’t know if you noticed, but this backstage segment illustrates the WWE as a whole. New guys come in, and then get passed by for older, more established talent. Primo Colon could get fired before he even gets started…wouldn’t that be a kicker?

Kelly Kelly & Mickie James defeated Jillian & Katie Burchill

Again with the tag matches from the WWE. It always seems to be that the divas get a tag team match on Raw and usually I’m impressed. However, I feel that I’m on overload from the WWE divas. They aren’t that good at wrestling, and seeing Mickie James in tag matches all the time is getting stale for me. Yes, this match was better than most of the divas matches, but it just doesn’t seem to go anywhere. These matches are entertaining on a certain level, but they never really forward any storyline, or even have any meaning. I don’t mean dramatic storytelling, I mean wrestling wise. Why are these particular women wrestling? Who’s getting the title shot next? Who cares? That’s the thing, no one cares, and it shows. Kelly Kelly was definitely taking some major shots, and I almost feel bad for her. She doesn’t fall correctly, and it shows as well. But then again, that’s why she gets paid the big bucks, and I sit at a computer wishing I was getting tossed around by the women of WWE; the match though, good stuff, standard divas match. Mickie James gets the hot tag, clears the ring for the most part, Kelly helps out afterwards, only to get the eventual win with the big ddt for the win. Mickie James gets the pin, and Mickie and Kelly win the match.

JBL defeated Jamie Noble

Jamie Noble had a moment of offense only to get JBL squashing Noble. JBL is massive compared to Noble. I say this a lot about Noble, and that’s: Why Isn’t Noble fired? Noble as a professional can’t possibly be enjoying his jobber status in the WWE. He could be such a valuable entity to other companies, including TNA and ROH. I know that they don’t pay as much, but they probably won’t squash him this bad every week on national television. His weight is really getting the best of him, and without the WWE getting into a cruiserweight division any time soon, these types of matches are only going to serve to prove that the WWE has no idea what they are doing in regards to what the fans want. However, I digress, because at Summerslam and at Raw the WWE sold out the arenas. So maybe they know what the WWE fans want. Just not what this wwe fan wants, but that doesn’t matter. Noble got assaulted bad in this match, he was on the receiving end of three Clotheslines from Hell and the Ref stopped the match. The announcers didn’t even sound concerned over Noble’s condition. JBL was made to look concerned over losing to CM Punk.

Mike Adamle Announcement:

Mike Adamle announces a Championship Scramble for Unforgiven’s main event. Not sure what that necessarily means, other than it’s a gimmick match and most likely Punk will lose the title and then win it later on in the match up.

John Cena defeated Priceless

What is the reasoning behind this move? I was wondering what the WWE was thinking in this one. Since Batista got let off the hook for tonight, I was under the impression that John Cena too would get a squash match up with some random WWE guy. Instead, John Cena is thrown to the tag team champions! What the heck? This can not have a positive result, can it? Cryme Tyme did run in and steal the WWE Tag Title Belts, infuriating Dibiase and Rhodes.

As far as the match up, this was a standard wrestling match for the most part. John Cena was getting beat down for the majority of the match up. Cena was not getting an easy win, and this is surprising to me somehow, but after thinking about it a bit more, it makes sense. If John Cena is to be the #1 face in the company, he has to get beat down a lot! Remember Hulk Hogan, yeah I’m going back to the Hogan era of sorts; Hogan had a lot of matches where he was getting beat down, whether by monster heels or by the tag team champions. He would recover and win the match with his patented leg drop. Is John Cena now the new Hulk Hogan? I was sure thinking that in this match, as the tag champions were making Cena look like a jobber with their constant punishment! This whole thing turned around, just like the classic Hulkamania VHS tapes that I used to collect, and the five knuckle shuffle was followed by the STFU and Cena comes through again in the clutch and wins the match.

I am always against singles wrestlers beating an established tag team. But I am even more against seeing one person lose to the tag team champions! Had I booked this, I would have the tag team champions win, even by DQ if possible, because I believe that a good tag team can defeat one guy, no matter what. The WWE could say that John Cena was tired from Summerslam and couldn’t fend off two different opponents, but instead, WWE chooses to bury the tag division by having them lose a handicap match!

CM Punk Interview:

CM Punk calls out Chris Jericho, and talks about how he’s going to lay down the law in a Chicago style match up.

D-Lo Brown defeated Santino via DQ

D-Lo brown already gets an Intercontinental championship match? Sure, why not? The WWE is throwing all caution to the wind and just giving out shots at the title left and right. At least we didn’t get a Kofi Kingston rematch clause match one night after losing it. That is usually the norm for the WWE and their title situation. I guess Kofi will have to settle for getting a shot later on down the road. Santino shows he has no wrestling skills, but I like this. I think it’s a great move for him. D-Lo controls the match up, and nearly beats him. Beth Phoenix got involved in the match up and caused a DQ, Santino then gets thrown into the announce table and Kofi Kingston smashes Santino’s head into Lawler’s Mac Book! Someone owes King a new laptop, that’s for sure! Santino retains his belt, but only because Phoenix’s interference. I enjoyed this match, and Santino has a great comedic timing about him. The match really went nowhere, but it was great to see that a comedic title reign can generate so much entertainment. That’s all this is folks, entertainment.

Kane In Ring Segment:

Kane talks bad about Rey Mysterio. He says that he basically killed off Rey Mysterio. This could be because Rey is arguing for more money, or that he needs more time to heel his injuries. Batista comes out for the save, and Batista gets beat down. This is most likely why he didn’t wrestle the tag champions, because he was going to get pwned by Kane! Kane demolishes Batista, and the announcers say it’s because Batista was injured. Kane leaves and we all are thinking one thing; whether or not Rey Mysterio will return to WWE, or go straight to Mexico and make some major cash by going to Lucha Libre?

Chris Jericho defeated CM Punk

If I complain about the John Cena matches, I’m going to have to complain about CM Punk’s matches too. His matches are really formulaic as well. There are never any battles that go both ways, he is usually the face in peril and doesn’t really get over until the closing moments of the match. Sure there are a few flurries here and there, but for the most part Punk doesn’t really get a whole lot of back and forth momentum. Maybe it’s because most of his matches aren’t very long, or maybe it’s just that it works better for him. Jericho and CM Punk did put on a show though, and whatever criticism I had for the match vanished towards the middle of the match when things started to really turn around. Maybe I spoke to soon, but the match was going towards a good point and we even saw some new moves for Punk to add to his arsenal. There were a lot of near falls, that’s for sure, thrilling the home town crowd seemed simple for Punk. Lance Cade caused a diversion, and Jericho pulled out the Code Breaker for the win! Too bad this wasn’t for the world title. Jericho really put on a great match up, and he’s looking great.

WWE Raw 8/17/2008 Results

John Cena defeated Priceless
JBL defeated Jamie Noble
Kelly Kelly & Mickie James defeated Jillian & Katie Burchill
Batista defeated Paul Burchill
D-Lo Brown defeated Santino via DQ
Chris Jericho defeated CM Punk

The Y2J and HBK angle could take a swerve too! What if people cheered the crap out of Y2J? Then HBK could be bitter about the whole thing, and turn into a Bret Hart type character. Y2J could be the face…but then again…this isn’t the Attitude Era.

There were some interesting developments in the story line department. Some things were pushed, while other things were given their natural closures. The Intercontinental championship is getting really interested now. I like that the mid card is getting the attention that it deserves.

CM Punk’s way over with the crowd, and because it was his home town, the arena went insane! Seriously, the place erupted like I haven’t seen on Raw in a long time. CM Punk is quite the fan favorite, considering that he’s not a huge guy and continues to wear the belt with pride. I like Punk’s title reign so far, and hopefully people will stop saying that he’s just a transitional champion. The crowd was red hot for him too, I was impressed, that’s for sure.

The overall show was good, I enjoyed it for the most part. I felt that there were some moments wasted. I thought for sure that there would be more, but it seemed to be just enough show in 2 hours to make it worthwhile.

WWE Raw Review 7/14/2008 WTF Show?

Stephanie and Shane talk about how no one is working together, and are look lame. Who cares! They ask for unity tonight. But one thing they did say, they said that there was an unauthorized WWE Title Match, is this going to mean the Cm Punk loses the title belt sooner than later?

We get right to the live action, HBK fighting Y2J at ringside, just beating the crap out of each other. Officials break up the fight and Kane comes out.

Kane is at ringside, looking at the announcers like he’s going to kill them. Kane apologizes to Michael Cole and The King.

More backstage, Jericho and Michaels still fighting each other, and no one can seem to stop them.

Mickie James defeated. Katie Lee

Mickie James makes quick work out of Katie Lee, by defeating her swiftly. This match was just a throwaway for me, and really doesn’t match up with the recent string of women’s wrestling that I’ve been able to catch.

After the match Katie Lee and Paul attack Mickie James, but Kofi Kingston comes out for the save. This could possibly lead into a mix tag team match!

Kofi Kingston defeated. Paul Burchill

This is not a great match. It was fast paced, and there was a few spots, but for the majority of the match, it was just rushed and sloppy to me. It was cool to see a new match up, but they didn’t take the time or care to make this one interesting. Kofi with the win, and maybe just the beginning of what could be an interesting feud.

Backstage Segment:

Santino talks about how he has an open invitation to anyone on the Raw Roster. Matt Stryker says, “that’s interesting”, and Kane shows up to confront him asking him where Punk is. Santino says, “did you try the pepsi machine?” and kane goes away, looking for punk.

Backstage Segement:

Kane talks to Punk. He challenges Punk for a match tonight. Once again marking that Punk is wrestling way more than any previous world champion in recent memory.

Interview Segment:

Cena is talked to about JBL asking for a New York Street Brawl. Cena then challenges JBL and two partners to a match tonight. He also accepts the Brawl for The Great American Bash.

In Ring Segment:

Santino waits for his opponent, an open challenge.

Beth Phoenix defeated Santino

I’m not sure why this happened, but it did. Santino loses to the glamazon, in what was a glorified squash match. Santino is continually buried on Raw but on the mic, he’s golden!

Kelly Kelly comes out for a match up.

Team Priceless comes out. They then say that they don’t care about the match, and tells Kelly to leave. They talk about how great they are and how good they are. Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes out to interrupt them. Citing that they don’t have any respect for the business. JBL interrupts and asks the tag team champions if they want to wrestle Cena and Cryme Tyme in the main event. They agree, and the match is set.

Kane vs. C.M. Punk

This match was somewhat standard in regards to cm punk matches. Punk gets beat up for the majority of his matches. On the comeback, Kane nearly knocks out punk with some power moves, but the Champion came back with an onslaught of moves, and after a few near finishes, and some major outside offense, Kane loses via count out.

Kane goes nuts and starts throwing chairs into the ring, then pummels the champion.

Kane almost breaks Punk’s neck with a chair, but Batista comes out to save punk and the crowd goes nuts.

Punk goes to shake Batista’s hand, and he says, “I’m not your friend…” and doesn’t shake his hand. Punk pushes Batista, and gets a spine buster for his troubles. Batista looks really strong against Punk and sets up a little heat for the pay per view main event.

Y2J defeated. Paul London

Not a terrible match, but you know that the booking in this match was definitely one sided. Y2J needed to look strong and really put London through a clinic. London is just a jobber in this one, and I can’t believe that the WWE chooses to do this to a former Tag Team Champion. He’s just jobbing, Y2J makes London tap to the Walls of Jericho. What a waste of talent.

Backstage Segment:

Jamie Noble tries to ask out Layla. He claims that the next guy that comes through he’s going to mop up. Snitsky comes out and tells him to shut up.

Snitsky then chased Noble to the ring, where he beat the crap out of him.

Too bad WWE hates cruiserweights, because once again, they bury Noble for no apparent reason. I hate my job, but I think that those guys getting beat down have to hate theirs more. Then again, theirs probably pays way more than mine does.

Cryme Tyme and John Cena defeated. JBL and Team Priceless (Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase Jr.)

This match was not half bad. The young team that JBL picked really was a good choice, as they dominated the match for the most part. Cryme Tyme showed that they aren’t that good in ring, but with Cena’s partnership, they really get over with the crowd. JBL also fit in nicely in this match, making for quite a good watch to end Raw. JBL purposely gets disqualified and leaves for the parking lot.

Backstage Segment:

JBL ambushes Cena, then throws him in front of a car. He then RAMS a car into John Cena. I kid you not.

Raw Quick Results 7/14/2008
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James def. Katie Lea Burchill (non-title match).
Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston def. Paul Burchill to retain.
Beth Phoenix def. Santino Marella in an intergender match.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk def. Kane by count-out (non-title match).
John Cena & Cryme Tyme def. JBL & World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase by disqualification.

This show was a little on the light side in terms of good wrestling. There was a lot of story development in this show, and not enough wrestling for my tastes. I felt as though the WWE were going somewhere with the main event, and it was actually worth its weight, but come on, that ending was just lame. I hate when the WWE tries these things. I hope this gets completely trashed by fans.

WWE Raw 7/7/08 Vickie’s Protest

Stephanie McMahon gives some speech about how people should care. I don’t.

Vickie Guerrero is in the ring and she wants to protest C.M Punk and wants an apology. Punk comes out. CM Punk does great on the mic, and eventually prompts JBL to come out in a Limo. Jbl complains about losing his match. John Cena rolls out and challenges JBL for a #1 Contender’s match and the winner goes to the Great American Bash. Batista comes out to interrupt, and wants a shot. Cena wants a Triple Threat match.

JBL argues that he doesn’t like it, and then threatens Batista and John Cena, only to get KANE interrupting them all and wanting in on the match. So a fourway for the number one contender will be featured later on tonight.

Backstage Segement:

C.M. Punk interviewed in the back, only to get interrupted by Snitsky, whining about getting a title shot, and Punk challenges him for a match later on the show.

Backstage, John Cena looks to be drinking mamajuwana but who knows? He talks to Mickie James, and then some random chick comes by, and he says to the camera; God Bless America.

Mickie James & Kelly Kelly defeated. Jillian & Layla

As far as I’m concerned, this was just a random divas match for the sake of having a divas match. I don’t really like the WWE divas, since most of them can’t wrestle. This match proved that they can’t wrestle, and while I enjoy eye candy, I don’t enjoy seeing this horrible attempt at entertainment. Someone save the wwe divas! They can’t wrestle! I’d much rather see a TNA Knockouts match, because they actually take it somewhat seriously. Mickie James didn’t even get into the match, and Kelly Kelly gets the win, out of the blue.

Rey Mysterio defeated. Santino

This was a quick one, and I almost wanted to believe that Santino could pull of the win. He couldn’t and wouldn’t win could he? Nope. Rey Mysterio basically defeats a glorified jobber in this match, making for a quick one, but it wasn’t half bad. Mysterio did all the usual spots, and eventually lands the win with a weird looking splash off the top rope. A good warm up for Mysterio, but one must wonder why he’s not in the main event. Maybe he’ll get slowly pushed if he can stay healthy.

Backstage/Frontstage Segment:

JBL’s limo is outside, and he’s not in it. After some investigation, John Cena comes out and says that for his own protection Cena is going to help JBL with his limo. Cena introduces Cryme Tyme and they beat the crap out of the JBL’s limo then spray paints the limo for good measure. JBL is furious at this point, and it just looks hilarious.

CM Punk defeated Snitsky

CM Punk was losing throughout most of this match, Snitsky was looking like a good monster, and then things went the other way. A quick reversal, and CM Punk’s signature move sets, along with the gts and CM Punk wins this one without much of a pain. Although, if you count the first portions of the match up as painful, then maybe this one was hard fought; CM Punk defeats Snitsky clean.

In Ring Segment:

HBK comes out to accept Jericho’s match for The Great American Bash. Y2J’s music hits, he comes out to the ring with Lance Cade. He then talks about how he is glad about the match up. Y2J talks about random crap, and HBK takes a turn and talks about how he’s been through it all. HBK claims that Y2J will never be him.

Kofi Kingston (Champion) defeated Charlie Haas

Kingston came out to wrestle Charlie Haas, and I was thinking what everyone else was thinking; Charlie Haas still has a job? That’s right, he’s a jobber, he doesn’t even come close to beating Kingston in this fast match. Kofi over with a reverse spin kick, and is immediately attacked by Paul Burchill. I liked his Pirate gimmick better. I’m sure this will set up a feud between them. Too bad for Charlie Haas; Kingston and Burchill for the IC Title is most likely going to go down at the Bash.

Batista defeated John Cena, Kane, & JBL (Number 1 Contender Match)

Batista, to me an unlikely choice, edged out three opponents on his way to a title shot at the Great American Bash ppv. This is going to really be cool, because I don’t recall ever seeing a Punk & Batista match, and both of them being face, this could turn out to be a great one. I’m not sure how CM Punk is going to walk out with the belt though, considering Batista is massive, and Punk is just fast. As for this fourway bout, it was messy, but it was fun. I thought for sure Cena had it at one point, and when Kane was getting in some offense, I changed my vote. JBL had no chance, and he’s most likely headed for a John Cena bout at the bash.

Raw 7/72008 Quick Results:

Rey Mysterio def. Santino Marella
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James & Kelly Kelly def. Jillian & Layla
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk def. Snitsky
Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston def. Charlie Haas
Batista def. John Cena, Kane and JBL in a Fatal Four Way

Overall, not the worst Raw I’ve ever seen, but not the best. Following up last week’s major upsets all through the night was tough, so I can’t imagine how they could have topped that one. I liked Raw this week, but I think there could have been more wrestling involved.

Kane went nuts and beat up Michael Cole, only to get rescued for a second by The King. The king then gets beat up by Kane, and we get the end of the show.

Monday Night Raw 6/30/2008 The Straightedge Show

Shane McMahon opened the show with a note on how they are not going to share the condition of Mr. McMahon because he’s a really private person.

Whatever.

Jim Ross has a nice little speech, that I don’t like at all. I don’t care about what Jim Ross has to say about his job. He gets paid a TON of money to be the announcer, so he shouldn’t be put into any story lines. Having him there is cool though, since it is his home town.

Edge came out to interrupt good ol’ Jim Ross.

The WWE has a way of messing with Jim Ross in his home town and this was no different. Edge told him what I was thinking, that no one gives a crap about him or his feelings, and rightfully so. Who cares about Jim Ross? We’ll hear and see you on Smackdown ol pal!

Batista came out to make Edge pay for his “sins” so to speak, and he basically beat the snot out of Edge. He just beat him and finally…a Batista bomb. Edge was completely out.

Cm Punk defeated. Edge (World Heavyweight Champion)
Money in the Bank Cashed In

Cm Punk pulled a page out of Edge’s book and cashed in his money in the Bank briefcase after Batista did most of the work, and defeated Edge with the Go To Sleep. CM Punk is now the new WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! That’s right, the Straightedge Superstar is NOW the WORLD CHAMPION! CM PUNK DEFEATS EDGE! I admit, I marked out huge, and was amazed that Edge got defeated so soundly.

Mickie James (champion) defeated. Jillian

What a throwaway match up. Jillian is so annoying, and I guess that’s the whole point of her character. It’s just a great way to get cheap heat, but come on, this is just sour to me. The two had an ok match at best. This thing is just stupid, I’d rather watch that TNA Extreme match up again. Man, I really liked that match up, you guys might enjoy it too…I don’t know. WWE Divas suck compared to TNA.

Rey Mysterio Jr. came out to talk about how cool it is to be on raw, and was interrupted by Santino. Santino went on for a while, only to get beat down. This was an ok segment.

CM Punk Backstage interview happens here, then JBL challenges him for a world title shot, and he gets it.
John Cena comes out to give a speech, and says he wants a title shot, only to get interrupted by JBL, who claims he’s running the show.

JBL then proceeds to get security to throw John Cena out of the building, and out goes Cena.

Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase Jr. (champions) vs. Two Jobbers

I don’t believe that the jobbers here present a force for the tag team champions. It’s stupid to think that this match wasn’t going to be a quick and easy match. This is a waste of time to me. Why does WWE even do this any longer? This isn’t mid afternoon programming, this is prime time.

Cody Rhodes gets on the mic, he’s horrible, and tells why he did what he did at the ppv. He sucks.
This tag team has hope, but this match was complete garbage. Ted Dibiase Jr. has a great mic presence, but his theme music sucks.

Jamie Noble vs. Kane (impromptu match up)

This was not really a match, it was more like a beat down on Jamie Noble. I don’t know why wrestlers continue to allow themselves to get beat up for no apparent reason. Funaki, Noble, Tommy Dreamer, and so many more just get beat up for years, and I guess that’s ok huh? Ok. Kane beats up Noble, for no good reason, and makes Kane look cool.

Kofi Kingston (Intercontinental Champion) defeated Y2J Chris Jericho via Disqualification
Intercontinental Championship Match

This match was swift, and while there was definitely a hype surrounding this one, it just wasn’t all that great. It was a fast match, with a weird ending. Chris Jericho went for a pin, used the tights, and was disqualified for his attempt at cheating. Kofi wins, but Jericho beats him up afterwards, for no apparent reason.

Edge abuses his Edgekins, and drives off…and now for the main event!

CM Punk (Champion) vs. JBL
World Heavyweight Championship Match

This match up was kind of slow at first, but the ending really paid off completely.

The match reached a really good point when John Cena appeared at the top of the stage with none other than Cryme Time, and together they went down and beat up the JBL security guards. This allowed CM Punk to pick up JBL for the GTS and the one, two three!
Following the matchup, CM Punk threw himself over the top rope and onto JBL’s security, JBL was out cold, and the show ended with a melee of people beating each other up.

Raw had a lot of talking this week.

There was a lot of interviews, back stage segments, and random mic work. Raw really does waste a lot of time on these things, while Smackdown has longer matches. Raw was great though, it had a lot of build up with new people coming on the show, and the world title changing hands was definitely a big plus.

I really could have done without the mic stops, and long winded speeches. The show as a whole went off well, but I do believe that things could have been done a lot better. I would have liked to see longer matches, that’s for sure.

WWE Monday Night Raw 6/30/2008 Quick Results:

Raw 6/24/2008 Results: Vince McMahon Dead

Complete Raw 3 Hour Draft Special Restuls

WWE Champion Triple H def. Mark Henry. Rey Mysterio was drafted to Raw from SmackDown.
Finlay & Hornswoggle def. Santino Marella & Carlito. Jeff Hardy was drafted from Raw to SmackDown.

What a waste of a match. Seriously, what a waste. Mark Henry never had a chance.

Jeff Hardy going to Smackdown is going to be awesome. That will definitely be good for their demographic of Lucha Libre fans, and hopefully we can see some movement in the world title hunt.

World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely. CM Punk was drafted from ECW to Raw.

Ted Dibiase on commentary was good. He seems to know what's up, and the new Million Dollar Man book looks awesome. Although that book is only the second book he's done, because he previously released a biography. This one will be fuller, i'm sure.

As for the CM PUNK trade, that's good, but what about the Money in the Bank Suitcase? I guess eventually he could go wherever he wants, so the Draft isn't that big of a deal.

WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz def. United States Champion Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy. Matt Hardy was drafted from SmackDown to ECW.
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James & Melina and the team of Victoria & Natalya were in a tag team match that ended as a double disqualification. Jim Ross was drafted to SmackDown and Michael Cole was drafted to Raw.

Melina took a major bump, and messed up her ankle, causing the match to just go into a double DQ. Either way, Michael Cole and Jim Ross traded places, and both looked very sad about it. The King and Foley also looked appalled and had to really try to suck it up and continue the match up.

J.R. Almost Quit over the news, so they say....

John Cena def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Batista was drafted to Raw from SmackDown.

Cena of course defeats Edge, although by count out. Batista is drafted, and this story only makes sense if Edge already knew the outcome, because now he's rejoicing. But Batista still gets a shot at the title.

MVP def. Tommy Dreamer with Colin Delaney. Umaga was drafted to SmackDown from Raw.

The jobbing Machine lost badly. Delaney got tore up! Umaga goign to Smackdown is somewhat interesting, but he's not much a monster to me.

I think Jamie Noble is going to be fed to him to prove that he still can wrestle.

JBL def. Kofi Kingston. ECW Champion Kane was drafted to Raw from ECW.

Kane is going to Raw? What about the ECW title? This makes no sense; I guess Big Show is going to take the title? I don't know. The match was cool though, KOFI is seriously good, if he can get some help in the ring and JBL did alright, even though he's fat.

Edge won a Tri-Branded 15-Man Battle Royal. WWE Champion Triple H and Mr. Kennedy were drafted to SmackDown from Raw.

Batista getting busted wide open was insane. I can't believe that there was no blading in this one. He ran head first into Edge's head and he got busted open the hard way. He was a mess, and Cena was trying to give him some time by mopping up anyone who got in front of the big man. Batista held on a while until he got thrown out by Big Show.

The match was good, but the ending...wow....Triple H and Kennedy gone to Smackdown.

Overall this weeks Raw was really good. I liked it a lot. I hope that they continue to level this all out.

My favorite spot was Y2J coming out and HBK attacking him. Now that's what I call a feud!

Vince McMahon Dying was lame. He's not dead, he's not hurt, that angle is so stupid.

What do you think?

Raw Review 6/9/2008 best raw in a while

This week's raw was one of the best Raw's in a long time, and I'll explain in this amazing review...well...raw anyways.

First and foremost, the RAW giveaway was lame. I knew I wouldn't win, and McMahon didn't even know how to dial a phone! Idiot!

Oh and what is Charlie Haas doing? I knew it was going to end bad. He's off the juice..he's looking flabby.

Kennedy vs Paul Burchill
Kennedy and Paul Burchill pulled off one of the quickest matches in recent Raw history. But the one thing that negated the length of the match was the fact that it was actually really good. The match was good, but Kennedy won clean.

The feud was building well, but by not having a DQ finish, the feud should end. He won CLEAN!

Afterwards Paul Burchill came in and attacked Kennedy, but so what?

Kennedy already won CLEAN! It’s over, in my book, but of course this is just the beginning.

Consider the past for a moment. Can you name an epic feud that started with a clean win?

Yes.

Bret Hart and Stone Cold tore the house down at Survivor Series 1996, only to continue to feud through out 1997 and launch Stone Cold’s face turn at Wrestlemania.

Could Burchill and Kennedy do the same for each other?

I don’t think Burchill is a big enough star to do it, but Kennedy could give him the rub. I think it could end up being really good.

The best Divas match up I’ve seen in a long time. The glamazon definitely was my pick for this match, as she was handling Mickie James quite well with brute force. However, there was a turning point, and wow, Micke James has really stepped up her game!

Melina came in after the match, and the Glamazon got pwned! Melina is looking vicious, even though she already lost at the last ppv, and in humiliating fashion.

Is the WWE feeling the heat of TNA for once?

I hope so, because these matches are getting better and better.

JBL and John Cena caused my wife and I to boo out loud in our living room. These two have wrestled so many times, I can’t believe that they would be in a match up yet again. However, they found a way to make it fresh, and the finger pointing between HHH and JBL was a foreshadowing for the future…which at first I thought may have indicated a triple threat match for night of champions, but then, later in the show, I realized that a four way match could be set up with all these characters.

I was hoping for a HHH vs. JBL match, which would be cool, since it is fresh and new in my viewpoint.

I hated the ending, a schoolboy victory for John Cena, which caught JBL by surprise. However, I would have preferred Cena to have gone down, but he didn’t.

Interesting point on commentary, HHH said that Cena was the Rocky Balboa of the WWE, and that no matter how much of a beating he takes, he just keeps coming back for more.

I wasn’t sure where the Highlight Reel was going, and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Y2J was slowly building heat, and then unleashed the fury! The beat down that HBK was beginning to give was epic, and then…the cowardly nut shot, ouch! Then the ultimate; face first through the flat panel television. This was the shot heard round the world in recent memory!

No blade job, just right through the screen. Y2J satisfied, and WWE finally doing something right in the world of wrestling. This feud is heating up so hot, it’s burning.

This is a long standing feud that is not going to end in a one on one encounter, we’re going to see a cage match or something epic with these two. I can just feel it.

Y2J is a way better heel than people give him credit for, and HBK can work hard…so bring it WWE, let these guys steal the show yet again!

Cody Rhodes and Bob Holly lost to the return of the monsters. I can’t believe Snitsky and Umaga are back! No, no, wait….I can’t believe Snitsky is back.

In my magic ball, I see Holly and Rhodes dropping the titles to Umaga and Snitsky, then Rhodes getting frustrated with Holly ditches him or walks out on him to join Ted Dibiase Jr. in the ultimate tag team!

Mark these words, and wait for it, because it’s simply Priceless!

Cryme Tyme finally has a match, but what a match up! Not really, Santino getting buried is not my greatest option of choices. Cryme Tyme is high on the card, which is odd, but what the greater question is;

How long before Cryme Tyme gets split up into single wrestlers?

Why can’t they join the “Priceless” stable?

No Wait!

How about this stable:

Mark Henry, Cryme Tyme, Shelton Benjamin, Elijah Burke, Kqwik, and Kingston!

Now that’s a new Nation of Domination. I could see it now!

First and foremost, Triple H is taking major bumps. Wow, he’s really confident about Jeff Hardy, even though Hardy was essentially going to get fired at one point. Amazing, if you ask me, but who asked?

More incredible is the way this four way scenario between JBL, John Cena, and HHH is coming together.

If not a four way title chase, than at least a triple thread, with Hardy landing on Cena thanks to HHH, Cena costing HHH the victory, it will be no surprise to see WWE push Hardy into the title contention.

Will Hard and JBL enter the main event picture yet again?

I’m not sure.

The match was really solid though, HHH was bumping, Hardy was bumping like a madman as usual, and Cena’s involvement really sealed the deal for me.

Could this be the beginning of John Cena getting pushed as Heel? Or will Triple H turn Heel? I’m not sure, but if you ask me, at this point, with Hardy going over on Triple H this time, I believe that pushing Cena Heel will be the key to creating his character to another monster superstar.

Just like Stone Cold, The Rock and many others that are not active in the WWE any longer.

This week's Raw got me really pumped, and I'm really excited to consider what could happen next week on Raw. I hope it continues to be a good match up, and see things through the greater good, and not some cluster of a mess. Looks like there are some positive things brewing among the WWE writers and talent.

I know that most wwe fans won't be so willing to praise this, and some podcasts that I listen to are most likely going to trash this week's Raw, but this is a really good one, and I'm excited to see what WWE is going to do with the future.

Just remember, we are still fans, and no matter what opinions we have that are negative, we still love wrestling. When WWE does something good, I'll be first in line to mark out like a school boy. They did a good one last night.

Raw Is Hilarious 5/19/2008 Review

Hardy & Umaga
Way to go WWE, feed us Hardy vs Umaga again! This is just poorly done. The match was ok, but I’ve already seen it so many times that it bored me in a way.

This of course reminded me of the summer of 1998, where we saw The Rock fight Triple H every ppv, every raw, and every house show for about a year.

Don’t agree with me?

Well then what do you think about the announcement that Jeff Hardy will face Umaga at One Night Stand in a Falls Count Anywhere Match? If you ask me, this sounds like Hardy vs. Abyss 2 (Hardy fought Abyss in a falls count anywhere match for TNA on ppv a few years ago)

S&M Divas
The divas come out and bore me. But as a man…a very gross man at times…I couldn’t help but think how hot these chicks are…too bad they can’t wrestle.

On second thought, this picture...wow...wow...

I’d rather go back to the Booker T & Goldust funny commercials.

Y2jBatista
Jericho and Batista? Making fun of HBK! Now this was interesting and having HBK run down was also interesting. The match was ok, and given more time could end up being a very good feud.

Too bad that Batista will now face HBK at One Night Stand in a stretcher match…way to throwaway a good feud.

On second thought, I wonder if this is going to be built into a bigger feud…with Y2J being guest referee on a ppv for HBK vs. Batista 3 and Y2J screws over Batista on his way to a match at the next ppv with Batista, only to get a dq finish and then subsequently get into a Hell in the Cell match, which would relive the 1997 3rd quarter. Which introduced Kane…if you remember that line of events.

SantinoPipersPit
Piper’s Pit! Santino is hilarious! Man oh man, if you missed it, you missed a hilarious romp through some great comedic timing. Santino might be the best on mic worker the WWE has right now.

KennedyRegal
Regal Kennedy? What? Kennedy is on a roll, and well…it didn’t help Regal at all that he was on the juice or on some kind of juice as the WWE has suspended Regal for 60 days for violating the wellness policy yet again.

This match sucked, by the way.

Tagmatchhhhjblcena
The last bit of Raw goodness was just sour. HHH and John Cena teamed up to wrestle JBL and Randy Orton. Boring match, leading to a boring couple of matches for last man standing, and making me tired this morning, once again…the WWE is just doing it all wrong.

Remember the last time JBL fought John Cena in a “I Quit Match”? JBL talked a lot of crap only to quit in the end. John Cena and JBL will fight in a First Blood match for One Night Stand….creating a horrible card.

They will also have a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE title at One Night Stand…with HHH fighting Randy Orton yet again!

Randy Orton should be demoted to the lower midcard, he’s already had several shots at the title…it’s over dude…it’s over. Work your way up the ladder into another shot, not just what you’re doing now.

Done deal.
