WWE Smackdown Live June 26, 2018 Results and Review Where Is Andrade?

The Young Upstart Kane Finally Gets A Shot At The Main Roster - SRC WWE
Why would the WWE keep bringing up talent only for them to not get featured on the show? I’m talking about Andrade Cien Almas, and of course Tye Dillinger, the perfect 10. I guess they just don’t want to showcase these guys? Send them back to NXT then! Geez. Oh yeah, we had Smackdown this week, let’s talk about that for a moment.

WWE Smackdown Live June 26, 2018 Results and Review

Today we start with pure wrestling! No. I kid. We started with Miz TV! More talking! This ended with a challenge as Daniel Bryan came out and talked, which was boring. I don’t want to see more talking, but hey that’s what you get with WWE these days. The promo worked and we got a match for later that will feature Daniel Bryan and one of the Bludgeon Brothers. The Miz escaped a beat down here.

Rusev defeated Xavier Woods

This was your standard television match, nothing too complicated about it. You had a feeling that Rusev was going to win, since it was Rusev day. The match was nothing to write home about, and here I am writing about it, aren’t I? Well, the whole match was good overall, and it definitely had some good points, with Rusev eventually countering Woods here and there and hitting the accolade, making Woods tap fast. Rusev then cut a promo. Not a bad way to start the show, well second on the show, but I could use less talking from Rusev, and more wrestling from Aj Styles.

Apparently the cast of Glow was there to say what’s up to Lana and Naomi. Cool, I guess. I didn’t think all of the starts were there, but maybe there’s all new women? I don’t know.

Jeff Hardy defeated Eric Young by Disqualification

This was a match that was ok at best, but it really took off when the USOS showed up and dispatched Sanity as they were outside. This turned into a six man tag team match, and I was wondering where Teddy Long was to make this happen.

The Usos and Jeff Hardy defeated Sanity

Well well, the new team coming up from NXT gets beat down and loses to the established Smackdown stars. Why bring up starts to get them beat by established stars? I don’t get it. The match was fast paced, and it was really fun to see. The Usos and Jeff Hardy threw down their greatest hits, and it was fun to see, so I guess in terms of wrestling alone, this was great to watch and it was definitely worth your time if you haven’t seen it just yet.

Becky Lynch defeated Sonia Deville

I love Deville. She’s beautiful, and great. Lynch is also smoking hot, but the two together can also throw down. Lynch was able to throw down a great deal of back and forth hits. I liked this one, and it had a great deal of action. Lynch won with the Disarm-her and that was that. Good back and forth, and nice action for the women.

James Ellsworth Cut A Promo

This was a great promo, and Ellsworth is great on the mic. Paige came out and said that Carmella has to fight Asuka. He called out Asuka. But Paige said Asuka wasn’t there etc. Next week Ellsworth will fight Ellsworth next week, and that’s that.

Daniel Bryan defeated Luke Harper via DQ

This wasn’t a great match, but it was adequate for me. It had a good back and forth at first glance, and of course it had Daniel Bryan chopping down Harper for the most part. When it looked like he was going to win, Rowan jumped in to stop things, and that caused the DQ. Kane then showed up and we had a reunion of Team Hell NO, and that was that. Kane, folks, the young upstart KANE is back, instead of Andrade Cien Almas instead of Tye Dillinger, instead of anyone else that they called up, it was that young upstart KANE.

Smackdown was ok, the WWE packed in a few things, but it’s really stupid that this is the conclusion of certain things. There’s a lot to be desired, and honestly, this is a B show for me.

WWE NXT April 25, 2018 Results and Review The Best of The Best

Ciampa Stands Tall - SRC WWE
I don’t usually cover NXT but since I’ve been on a new tear for this blog, I decided to give it a shot, and well, I am delighted about what has gone down last night with the throwdown of NXT. Let’s discuss the quick show that had a lot of action, and was well paced overall.

WWE NXT April 25, 2018 Results and Review The Best of The Best

The Undisputed Era came out and cut a promo about how cool they are and that they are going to run rough shot over NXT for good. This was a good little segment, but I never liked a lot of talking with my wrestling, but that’s the norm these days, I guess.

Adam Cole defeated Oney Lorcan in the NXT North American Championship Match

This was a stellar affair, although quick. Lorcan really connects fast and hard with the moves he has, and is a slippery fellow. Adam Cole didn’t have much of an answer to him for a few spots, and he was selling a rib injury, but with the help of his cronies, he was able to pick up the big win. If it wasn’t for them attacking Lorcan while the ref was turned, this would’ve turned out a lot differently.

Heavy Machinery defeated Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli

This was an interesting little match, as it featured Heavy Machinery throwing their weight around, no joke. They eventually would get the win as Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli are going their separate ways, as one refused to tag in, and left the other for dead.

Johnny Gargano was stretchered out of Full Sail after Tommaso Ciampa attacked

Ciampa attacked Gargano with a serious frenetic pace that was nothing short of insane. It was a killer beat down that goes down deep into the ages of the world of wrestling. It was a nice intense fight and at the end of the day Ciampa got the last laugh by throwing Gargano down a table with a finisher that looked just as brutal as ever.

Aleister Black defeated Eric Young

Since the title match didn’t happen, Eric Young and Sanity came down the ramp and challenged Black and he accepted. This was a good overall television match with lots of back and forth action, and some stellar offense and defense from both men. Black was able to control some of the match, but not all of it, with a great deal of maneuvering overall. Young was able to fly through the air, and got a little help from Sanity, but it wasn’t enough because Black Mass hit and Young was thrown down as he is now going to Smackdown with his crew.

Overall, the night of wrestling felt crisp, and within only 1 hour, I was fully vested into the happenings that are going on with WWE NXT, that’s for certain.

WWE NXT April 19, 2017 Results and Review Kevin Castle’s Neighbor Competes In A Cage

Tye Dillinger From The Top - SRC Wwe.com
WWE NXT taped from Full Sail Studios in Orlando, Florida, and I for one wish the school was around when I was younger. I would have gone to that school instead of the Art Institute. Don’t get me wrong, the Art Institute was good, but it didn’t really give me a fighting chance for the real world. Whatever the case may be, NXT was live, and it packed a lot of wrestling into a small package.

WWE NXT April 19, 2017 Results

Hideo Itami made Bobby Roode look like a Chump
Anrade “Cien” Almas defeated Danny Burch
Aliyah and Liv Morgan defeated Peyton Royce and Billie Kay
Tye Dillinger defeated Eric Young in a Steel Cage Match

WWE NXT April 19, 2017 Review

The show started well enough, with Bobby Roode cutting a Triple H like promo. He was talking about a new era, and out came Hideo Itami. I for one, am not impressed by Itami at all. I don’t see the big deal. He showed up to the ring and immediately hit the GTS on Roode, and that was that. I guess he’s a star? I don’t know.

Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Danny Burch

Danny Burch is a UK star, and he was easily taken care of by Almas. Almas is cool as a bad boy here, but something tells me that he’s not happy. Perhaps it was Alberto Del Rio. Look for Drew McIntyre to bury him next week.

Aliyah and Liv Morgan defeated Peyton Royce and Billie Kay

Royce and Kay are Laycool 2.0. This was a workable match, nothing too great, not a long one, just average. The finale led to Royce and Kay throwing a fit in ring, and that was that.

Tye Dillinger defeated Eric Young in a steel cage

Kevin Castle’s Neighbor, Eric Young put the boots to Tye Dillinger in this back and forth match. Sanity tried to interfere, but they were thwarted, and Dillinger was able to escape this match with the win, and close the door on his Sanity feud. I feel that blood would have helped here, but that’s just my opinion. A good overall match, and a workable finish to a lackluster show.

That’s it for this week’s NXT, it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great. The main event was worth checking out, but other than that, it wasn’t too much to write home about.

WWE NXT Takeover San Antonio January 28, 2017 The WWE Indie Product

Independent style WWE Work
If the WWE was aiming to make their development product seem like a good independent product, they certainly accomplished it with their latest Takeover event. This event took place at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. I wanted to venture that way, but decided to save my 1,000 dollars and stick to seeing it on the network. Plus, one of my cats had an aggression problem and I had to stay awake all night defending it from the other cat, and well it was a big to do.

WWE NXT Takeover San Antonio 2017 Results

Eric Young defeated Tye Dillinger
Roderick Strong defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas
The Authors of Pain defeated DIY
Asuka defeated Nikki Cross, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce
Bobby Roode defeated Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship

WWE NXT Takeover San Antonio 2017 Review

Eric Young defeated Tye Dillinger

They call Dillinger the perfect 10, and people scream out 10 during his matches. I think he’s a good wrestler, but he is wasted here by losing. Eric Young put on a show, and I personally was impressed. Dillinger and Young put on a good overall wrestling match with only 11 minutes of time, and it was spot on in most cases. Young is definitely better here than he was in TNA, and Dillinger needs to be on the main roster, perhaps on Smackdown.

Roderick Strong defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas

Strong is an independent darling, and well, it looks like it. He’s got no charisma in my view, and this match was like watching Dean Malenko’s first matches. But he won me over as the match went on. Andrade is awesome, and he can really go. I liked the overall match, but didn’t like Strong’s casual selling towards the end, including no-selling Cien Almas’ finisher. Oh well.

The Authors of Pain defeated DIY

I’m not a fan of the Authors of Pain. They are green, but they are tough, and they really put a beating on DIY. This had a lot of great psychology, and really put through some great overall fighting back and forth. DIY just couldn’t get the job done as the bigger guys did what big guys do, beat up little guys. DIY should be on the main roster.

Asuka defeated Nikki Cross, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce

A throwaway match if you ask me. Asuka is light years away from her peers at this point. However, I feel that her English-speaking skills are going to hold her back. I’m a fan of Japanese wrestlers, but like Great Muta said, you have to know English very well. As far as this match, it was interesting to see Peyton and Billie team up to get rid of Cross, then beat up Asuka. Asuka narrowly escaped this 10 minute match, and really did put on a good show, for the most part.

Bobby Roode defeated Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship

Bobby ROOOOOO here put on a good showing against Nakamura. Nakamura has great charisma, but his English skills hold him back. Triple H even said he wasn’t ready for the main roster, and I can see why. This match was not crisp, and it showed a lot of frustration on the part of Nakamura. Watching it again, you’ll see how frustrated he gets when Roode is not in tune with the next step. Roode sold so much here, and really paced the match’s overall moves, in what I can only say was Glorious fashion. Good match, nearly 30 minutes, and a great way to end the show. Nakamura, in my opinion, is in dire need of better English, and a push that is better than Yoshi Tatsu or Kenzi Sazuki. Here’s hoping to him getting a fair shot in WWE.

WWE NXT 5/4/2016 Results and Review The Eric Young Debut

WWE NXT 5/4/2016 Results and Review The Eric Young Debut

As I start to build this blog once again, I am going to be reviewing as much wrestling as I can, so here we go, a review of this week’s NXT showcase. This day is huge because it’s the first time that Samoa Joe shows up for NXT. Eric Young showed up to challenge Samoa Joe for the belt, and business was about to pick up. The reaction for Eric Young was really good, as well as for Joe, and it’s nice to see Young get a show at the big time here in NXT, and hopefully he does sign. Although, at press time, I read that he has not signed a deal with WWE, so we’ll see how it all pans out.

NIA Jax defeated Tessa Blanchard

I literally turned around for a second and this match was over. NIA Jax wins this squash match, simple as that. Hopefully Blanchard gets more offense next time. This was a waste of time in my view.

Austin Aries defeated Tye Dillinger

I admit, I don’t know a lot about Austin Aries. I did see some Tye Dillinger matches in the past, but nothing too memorable. This was a quick match, but it was Tye Dillinger most of the match. Dillinger is the perfect 10, as they say, and he is crisp in the ring. He put on some great moves, but Aries won after a  450 splash from the top. I am not that impressed with these guys, but you know what, it was short, sweet, and to the point. Not bad, but not great either.

The Revival defeated The Hype Bros

This match was fast, and the Revival were crisp here. The Hype Bros were nothing more than jobbers here, getting bounced around the ring. I’ve seen better. This wasn’t great. The Revival are good, not sure why they aren’t on the main roster right now.

No Way Jose defeated Noah Potjes

This was a fun match. No Way Jose is a salsa dancing, DJ (Street Fighter 3) looking dude a bit. He won in a short, jobber type match.

Samoa Joe defeated Eric Young in a non-title match

This was a cool match, just very short. Joe didn’t dominate, but eventually won after hitting the Muscle Buster and getting his chokehold on. Eric Young could very well make moves if the WWE picks him up, but as for this night, he was another victim to Samoa Joe. Good match overall, nothing crazy, standard back and forth, and it was nice to see Eric Young in the big leagues.

Overall rating: 6 out of 10

NXT needs to do a lot more for me to be impressed. I like their bigger shows. Next week, however, Alex Riley will face off against Nakamura. That should be great.

TNA Impact Results 10/29/09

Sometimes things happen that is beyond my control. Well, last night I guess I had some control, but it messed up the TNA review as we know it. I was trying to watch the new episode of The Office, but accidentally canceled the TNA recording, so I didn't get impact to review this morning. I usually do it in the morning because I go to bed earlier than most...due to my wife's work schedule.

So instead of a full review, here's the results. I'll have a full Smackdown review for you though, so stick with me.

Tna Impact 7/2/09 Results and Review More Poop From TNA

TNA Impact 7/2/09 Results

Amazing Red defeated Cody Deaner
Eric Young defeated Rhino
Awesome Kong & Tara defeated Velvet Sky & Angelina Love
Booker T & Scott Steiner defeated Team 3-D
Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Jarrett & Aj Styles

TNA Impact 7/2/09 Review

Kurt Angle comes out and starts talking about Mick Foley, and calls him out. I like Kurt Angle’s new look, it makes him look more evil. Foley stepped out and confronted Kurt Angle. Scot Steiner beat up Foley’s security with a Lead Pipe, ending their storyline; hopefully. Foley punched Angle, then got a beat down from the Main Event Mafia. Afterwards Jeff Jarrett ran down to save Foley!

Double J then hit Foley in the head with a guitar, and walked away.

We got into an interview with Kevin Nash…lame. This segment sucks.

Amazing Red defeated Cody Deaner

Amazing Red is one of my favorite guys to return to TNA, he’s got the fastest execution I’ve seen in pro wrestling in a long time. The twisting dive was impressive, picture perfect, nice landing, and wow…impressive. Somehow Cody Deaner got Red in a compromised position and was actually winning for a good part. Deaner went to the top rope and went flying! He went for the Swan dive headbutt, but Amazing red hit a sweet Red Eye (second rope launch DDT). Tna’s Amazing Red deserves a title shot!

Eric Young defeated Rhino

Rhino ran into the ring and started blasting Young with lefts and rights. Eric Young was taking a beating early into the match up. This match was fast and not that good. Young didn’t get too much offense in, but eventually pinned Rhino, which was out of the blue via a head butt and sneaky pin. This was a terrible finish.

Awesome Kong & Tara defeated Velvet Sky & Angelina Love

Tara, at least to me, had a limp on her way down to the ring. The match was not half bad, The beautiful people had full control of this one. With quick tags and legitimate punishment, they really played up the heel tag team, without compromising their skill set. Awesome Kong got involved and hit a picture perfect Implant Buster and it was awesome! She gets the pin, and I was pleased.

Booker T & Scott Steiner defeated Team 3-D

Team 3-D had the edge early on, and I liked it. They seemed to have a second wind and really looked like that old Team 3-D even if it was short lived. However, as the match carried on it was Steiner and Booker that were looking like the well oiled machine not Team 3-D. Booker was fast and fresh, but Devon had a few shots to make things turn around as he was setting up a huge hot tag! Bubba Ray Dudley was working a little light at first, but things got better as he cleaned house including a nice Bubba Bomb on Scott Steiner. Booker T though, got the book end but couldn’t get the three count. Sheik Abdul Bashir and Kiyoshi came to the announce table and started a fight with Beer Money who were doing commentary. Meanehile, Team 3-D hit 3-D on Booker T! Sharmel jumped in and distracted the referee! Scott Steiner got in and was immediately hit with a headbutt to the groin! Out ran Brutus Magnus came down and did the slowest run in wrestling history costing Team 3D the match.

Jethro Holliday vs. Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal

This match never really got started as Abyss beat up Lethal and then ran down to ringside to beat up Jethro Holliday! That’s about it, Abyss beat him up and went away.

Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Jarrett & Aj Styles

This match was going back and forth with neither team truly getting over on the other. Styles and Jarrett worked well together, and Joe & Angle were taking some heavy shots here and there. We had a commercial break and upon return Samoa Joe had this match well taken care of. Aj got a double ddt on Angle and Joe, which proved to be somewhat of an equalizer. Styles hit a huge Pele’ on Joe, and hit Double J for the hot tag and he was like a house on fire, hitting Angle with everything he had, but it was a short second wind. Double J reversed the Angle Slam into a ddt, and things looked bad for the Main Event Mafia. Joe got hit by Aj Styles but hit the ref too! Double J hit The Stroke from the middle rope, but the ref was out cold! Angle got the Ankle Lock onto Jarrett, and right in the middle of the ring! Jarrett passed out with the Ankle Lock strapped in, and he went limp from pain. Kurt Angle wins via death? Hahah…you know what I mean.

Just a heads up, I'll be gone tomorrow, so no smackdown review...but i'll be back monday or tuesday with a full Raw review.

TNA Impact 5/28/09 Results and Review Aftermath of Sacrifice

TNA Impact 5/28/09 Results

Suicide defeated Amazing Red
Doug Williams defeated Cody Deaner in a Ladder Match
Angelina Love defeated Sojourner Bolt
Jeff Jarrett defeated Eric Young
Aj Styles defeated Christopher Daniels

TNA Impact 5/28/09 Review

Suicide defeated Amazing Red

Suicide apparently gives title shots to anyone that asks, not necessarily the next in line. Amazing Red gets a shot at the title after making a comeback, but you just have to go with this lame out of the blue booking, it is TNA after all. Did you know Kaz is Suicide? I just wanted to throw that out there. I heard that Christopher Daniels was under the mask for a little while, but it’s Kaz. As for this match, Suicide was totally controlling Amazing Red, and while Red did put down some nice comeback attempts, Suicide just out classed his opponent on every turn. I hate Don West, just another FYI.

The Main Event Mafia was in ring and Sting talked about women being banned from ringside. Lame. Then he talked about random crap until Samoa Joe said he was going to kill Kurt Angle. Terrible Segment, that led to Mick Foley backstage to make assumption that Jeff Jarrett is going to be fired sooner than later? Once again, stupid.

Doug Williams defeated Cody Deaner in a Ladder Match

This match was a terrible match up. Deaner had this case basically, and took a nasty fall on the outside towards the end. Seriously, this fall was a classic, but other than that, this match sucked. It was a ladder match for Homicide’s case…which is stolen at this point. Doug Wiliams and Cody Deaner nearly destroyed my love for ladder matches. However, Deaner’s massive fall and nearly breaking his neck made me not hate thi match too much.

Stevie Richards did a random in ring Therapy Session with Abyss that bored me to death. Until Raven showed up! That’s right, RAVEN, SCOTT LEVY, MY FAVORITE ECW/WCW/WWE superstar is back in action with his cut off jean shorts and nevermind…RAVEN is back! He beat the crap out of Abyss with a kendo stick. BIG STEVIE COOL AND RAVEN BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!

Remember when they had that double Dog Collar Match? Against the Pit Bulls, that match was insane, and the two went through like 90 tables, I had to mark out like a school girl, I had to, it was rad to see Raven, back. He was lighter and looked in good enough shape.

Angelina Love defeated Sojourner Bolt

The whole crew of The Beautiful people were out at ringside in this match. I know it’s bad to think this, but I couldn’t help but wonder if cute kip is banging all of them! I mean, some pornstar looking chicks and him? It could happen. But I hear that one of them is going out with Gregory Helms…I digress. This match started out fast paced and somewhat interesting, but the screeching cats outside of the ring really made for a terrible sound experience. This match was so short that by the time I clicked a random link on a site, the match was done. Not that I was doing other things while this match was on….This match was easy for Angelina Love as she only had to wrestle for a few moments. Bolt threw some shots in, but overall this match kind of sucked. Admit it.

Cute Kip got thrown out of The Beautiful People and guess who came down to take care of them? VICTORIA! I knew it was going to happen, but I still marked out huge. Victoria is still hot…I like her. The WIDOW’s PEAK got a nice pop…and wow…Victoria is hot without all that spandex…I like her…***DROOLS****

Jeff Jarrett defeated Eric Young

Did anyone really think that Eric Young was going to win this match? I didn’t. Eric Young did put up a good match with Jeff Jarrett, who was supposedly battling an injury. This match sucked, it was terrible, seriously. Eric Young lossed in less than ten minutes, this wasn’t a war, this was a piece of junk. Jarrett rolled over Eric Young for no apparent reason.

Post match Eric Young attacked Jeff Jarrett, turning him Heel? Whatever. Eric Young sucks.

At this point in TNA Team 3D was giving a giant check to Beer Money…oh and a trophy too. This was a stupid segment.

Aj Styles defeated Christopher Daniels

Well if anyone could put on a good match it’s these two wrestlers. I was always impressed with their battles for the X-Division belt, but I wasn’t impressed by this match. Sure there were moments that were good, as these two are amazing when working together, but they had time constraints and it just wasn’t as impressive to me. It just seemed like they were going through the motions, and I was predicting that Styles would win, since Daniels isn’t in the hunt for the world title at all. Daniels went for The Angel’s Wings but Styles rolled through or a quick win with a……ROLL UP! FU TNA two roll up wins in a row? Thanks TNA thanks…for nothing!

OH but, guess who’s back too?

SHANE DOUGLAS! That’s right, SHANE DOUGLAS shows up and decks Christopher Daniels! That’s kind of cool, I guess. Douglas looks fat.

Tna Impact 4/22/09 Results and Review The Foley Era Begins Again

Tna Impact 4/22/09 Results

Beer Money defeated Lethal Consequences
Sojourner Bolt defeated Taylor Wilde Ladder Match
Aj Styles defeated Kevin Nash via Disqualifications
Outlaw Jethro Holliday & Eric Young defeated No Limit
Jeff Jarrett Scott Steiner

Tna Impact 4/22/09 Review

I woke up with a stuffy nose and I didn’t want to review TNA. My ears were clogged so I had to turn up the volume a lot more than I wanted, but I managed to get things in order.

The show opened with Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett in ring. Foley tried to inspire Jeff Jarrett and made a match for him. This segment was weird because Foley is activating the role of general manager and his role as Champion, which presents a conflict of interest in my opinion. However, no one cares, so we’ll move on.

Beer Money defeated Lethal Consequences

A new tag team tournament was announced and Beer Money was the first team out. Lethal Consequences came out and these two teams put on one heck of a tag team showcase. From tandem moves to high spots, this match had it al in a short time. I wish more tag teams were created to stay together like Beer Money has in TNA. They are definitely a major throwback to the 1980’s longevity that was seen in the Tag team era. The match was good, and for once I thought that TNA had hope for a brighter future. As long as they keep pushing their tag teams in this manner, we can see a great thing happen. Beer Money chasing the belts is a nice fit in this wrestling promotion. Beer Money gets the win, by teaming up on Lethal and hitting him with their double finishing move.

Sojourner Bolt defeated Taylor Wilde Ladder Match

Now this I can get behind all day. This match was a ladder match for a title shot. Back suplex off the ladder from Sojourner was great. Sojourner Bolt took out Brass Knuckles! The two women went back and forth in this match up, and Bolt was getting the worse of it. Bolt hit Taylor Wilde in the face with some Brass Knuckles and this match was over. This match was going good, but this match was too short, and the match didn’t develop as well as I thought it would. Overall, good stuff, I liked the use of Brass Knuckles.

Aj Styles defeated Kevin Nash via Disqualifications

Nash actually was in ring wrestling! I haven’t seen this much vigor out of Nash in a long time. Even the weekend ppv match wasn’t all that great. Nash was dominant for the most part of this match, and styles didn’t hit as hard as he usually does, and he was trying to keep things paced in his favor. Nash got hit with Pele and I thought it was over. Nash was really slow late on in the match, as if he legitimately was tired. Aj Styles then got to shine with some highspots, only to miss. Rudy Charles threw the match out and disqualified Kevin Nash when Booker T interfered, and I hated the ending. Lame.

Outlaw Jethro Holliday & Eric Young defeated No Limit

TREVOR MURDOCH shows up! He’s in this tag team tournament! That’s right former WWE star Trevor Murdoch was in this match up! Eric Young teamed up with him for this match up. This match didn’t have a lot of stellar wrestling, Young and Holliday thought managed to get some good shots in. It was a good overall showdown, and it ended with Eric Young winning with a nice crucifix pin.

Jeff Jarrett Scott Steiner

Mick Foley was on color commentary and this was a hilarious match. This match up was just another hardcore match, and it wasn’t half bad. The plunder was all over the place, and I had to mark out huge for the suplex on a trashcan from Steiner to Jarrett. Scott Steiner’s huge back suplex off the top rope was insane! Jarrett’s Electric chair towards the end was cool, but it seemed a bit overkill. Jarrett hits the guitar shot on Steiner, then The Stroke, and Jarrett pins Steiner clean…well…as clean as you can get in a hardcore match.

Tna Lockdown 2009 Review

That’s right folks, we get another TNA ppv, and I don’t know how I do it, but I get to review it because Comcast lets me every now and again. So here we go, the tna review, or however it is you want me to call this thing.

Eric Young defeated Danny Bonaduce

Eric Young is so much bigger than Danny. That’s the first thing that I saw in this match up. Eric Young was laying into Danny and it looked great, but Danny got a few shots in, nothing too insane, but he was trying more than the average jobber. Eric Young defeated Danny after a few minutes, and this was a throwaway match up.

Post match Danny attacked young from behind, but Rhino ran down to ringside and speared the crap out of Danny, and this segment finally ended.

What a terrible thing to give away in the pre-show, but it was free…well…free for those that ordered it.

Suicide defeated Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal, Kiyoshi, Consequences Creed, and Sheik Abdul Bashir

I was under the assumption that there were teams in this match up, it all confused me; Specifically because this match up was just left and right action. Everyone was just free for all, with the exception of Lethal and Creed, who were teaming together to make things a little different.

Kiyoshi was eliminated first.

Creed and Machismo together were doing good as a team. I liked how they were cleaning house and trying to make this match more than just high spots. It wasn’t meant to be though, Sheik hit the DDT of Mass Destruction and eliminates Creed.

Consequences Creed was eliminated next.

Suicide’s running lariat eighteen minutes into the match up was nice. He turned Lethal inside out!

Black Machismo got eliminated somewhere, when I went to a bathroom break and my wife was reading her twitter instead of watching the wrestling. Lame.
I came back to see Suicide and Bashir getting into the match up hook line and sinker. At this point I wanted Suicide to lose cause he’s lame. I don’t really like Bashir, but at this point, he’s better than Suicide. Kiyoshi ran down to ringside and tried to stop Suicide from getting out of the cage. He jumped off of the top onto a pile of people to win this match up. This was a terrible match, in 23 minutes, the x-division was suppose to be good.

ODB defeated Madison Rayne, Sojourner Bolt, and Daffney

I’m assuming this too was an elimination match. These things confuse me, I want to say that TNA is NOT all gimmicky crap, but this is just another nail in their coffin. I hate this crap.

ODB won this match. I guess it wasn’t an elimination match up. It was a queen of the cage! This was an ok match, but it was just boring to me. There were a few high spots, but not really something that was going to gain more fans. They really wasted their time with this match up.

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated LAX, and No Limit in a WGP Jr. Tag Championship match up

When WCW had those great N64 games I would make matches like this. Seriously, I made these types of matches. That’s also how slow this match was. The middle of the ring was opened up for the most part. The edges were filled with people hitting right hands, elbows, and the middle had Hernandez hitting power moves. Seriously, I hate this crappy wrestling. TNA STOP MAKING Six Sided Cage matches with 20 people inside! Ok, not 20, but if you saw this match, you know what I’m talking about. There just wasn’t enough room in this match to make something good. There were too much competitors in a small ring, and it just came across as stupid to me. Maybe the Chocolate Stout was talking at this point, but I really didn’t think this match was all that good at all. This match was one fall and The Motor City Machine Guns won. I didn’t like it.

Matt “The Blueprint” Morgan defeated Abyss

This match stared with Abyss driving himself into Matt Morgan, shoving his weight around, trying to throw Morgan through the cage as he was just opening up like a house on fire against Matt Morgan. Matt Morgan knocked out Abyss with a kick to the face with a chair, and busted him wide open, creating the first major casualty on the ppv as far as blood is concerned. Morgan then started to lay into the forehead of Abyss. Matt Morgan introduced something I haven’t seen in a very long time. He brought out a bag full of shards of glass! Yea, that was a little weird, and I guess it was part of the match. It couldn’t have been real glass because Morgan was grasping the pieces with his bare hands, and you know that’s not possible without cutting your hand. The Ref got taken out with a Matt Morgan cross body block and business really started to pick up here. Stevie Richards came down to ringside to stop Abyss from using a chair on Matt Morgan! That’s right, Stevie Richards ran down to ringside to stop Abyss! I guess the big revelation was that Doctor Stevie is none other than Stevie Richards. Richards got into the ring to stop Abyss, verbally assaulting him, then slapping him, trying to stop him from using tacks. Morgan than hit a huge slam on Abyss onto thumbtacks and glass; he won after pinning Abyss.

I admit, the match started of great, but it really slowed down to nothing more than a parody of a Mick Foley, mid 90’s match. Abyss has a lot of talent, and he’s just taking pointless risks at this point. Matt Morgan shouldn’t be involved in this feud, but oh well. Stevie Richards return? That was kind of cool, I have to admit that.

Angelina Love defeated Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde in a triple threat Knockout championship match

A triple threat match isn’t exactly what I wanted at this point. Honestly, an hour into this thing and I personally no longer cared about this ppv, it just seemed overkill as it always does to have every match in a steel cage. It never worked for WWE and it doesn’t work for TNA right now. At least not for me, I didn’t really like it. This match had some great spots from Awesome Kong. Kong missed a top rope dive, she also had to fight of Taylr Wilde. The ending of this match up came with Angelina Love playing possum. She had her tag team partner outside tie up Kong’s hair to the cage and so she was stuck. Taylor Wilde then was surprised by Love playing possum, a roll up happened and we got the pinfall win and NEW Knockout champion Angelina Love! Not a great match, not a memorable title change, but it happens.

Team 3-D defeated Beer Money in a IWGP Tag Team Titles & TNA Tag Team Titles Match

With so much hype over those New Japan belts in this match, I had it in mind to root for Team 3-D because they are in need of another championship. This match started with Team 3-D cleaning house, literary, throwing Beer Money out of the ring, then following them out to trash them. The fight went into the audience, then we got the good ol’ fashioned split screen. Things came towards the ring, and a table was set up! Beer Money double suplexed Devon through a table at ringside, then threw Bubba Ray Dudley into the cage, his face completely busted open. The third rope Bubba Bomb onto Robert Roode was definitely a highlight for me that was incredible. Towards the end of this match up, Team 3-D really got into a groove and looked great. They seemed to be having fun for a change, and things were going quite well for them. Devon was getting a table, Bubba was setting up, Beer Money was down and reeling from the onslaught of offense. But then Beer Money got a leg up, and started to use their skills to strike like the champs that they are. Throwing Team 3-D into the cage, setting up the Last Call, and just trying everything they could to win this match up. Beer Money miscalculated the cage door bump to the head, and Team 3-D hit 3D to win this match up! They are the new TNA Champions!

Chris Daniels, Aj Styles, Samoa Joe, Jeff Jarrett defeated Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash

Kurt Angle and Chris Daniels started this first period, and they were just mat wrestling. Nothing too crazy was happening in this match up, then Booker T came down and him and Kurt Angle were having their way with Daniels. (I know that sounds gross, but it was true man, what can I say). Scott Steiner jumped into the match and it had some nice belly to belly suplexes off the top rope on Styles and Daniels! Samoa Joe was scheduled to come out but for some reason he wasn’t coming out. He just stayed behind, and then came out with a few seconds later. He immediately hit Steiner, then went back and forth with the Main Event Mafia, hitting every suplex in the book, reminding me of Tazz’s old wrestling style. Kevin Nash came out, but was immediately kicked in the face by Joe, hitting the fence immediately. Kevin Nash and Samoa Joe exchanged blows outside, but then he forced himself into the ring and was just dominating early on. With so many bodies in the ring, this thing started to really slow down. Then came down Jeff Jarrett and things were starting to pick up in an all new way. This match was fairly gimmick free, until the roof of the cage lowered down with all sorts of weapons hanging from the top of it! Oh man, this is the biggest gimmick match of all, and what a load of crap. This was worse than the old Raven’s funhouse matches. They switched to a six way camera view of the action and I had no idea what to watch, this was like a weird video game of some kind. Aj Styles and Kurt Angle were fighting on top of the cage. This looked very dangerous, a lot more dangerous than the Hell in the Cell bump. Aj jumped off the top into the middle of the ring, and it looked like Steiner just got his knee blown out! Not a lot of people caught him it was bad, it was really bad, and it was a great match pivot point at this time. There were just too many people in the ring, which made things really bad. There was just too much going on for the camera’s to follow. In fact this reminded me of the old wrestling games on Genesis or SNES, just a lot of crap going on in the ring, the occasional nice finisher, but nothing really going good. Jarrett hit Booker T with a guitar shot, AJ pinned him and this train wreck of a match completely blew up and it was over. This match sucked, I’m sorry, it was just too jumbled.

Post match, the lights went out. Then out came none other than Bobby Lashley! That’s right, Bobby Lashley came out! BOBBY LASHLEY came out and pointed his finger at the cage!

Cactus Jack defeated Sting to win the TNA Championship

I saw Beyond the Mat this weekend and boy was that a nice lead into this match up, which featured a much older Mick Foley in a cage match against Sting for the Tna heavyweight title. Lame. Immediately, this match turned macabre with Cactus Jack getting his face grated open through the side of the cage. This match was a good attempt at trying to entertain jaded wrestling fans, and it told a good story. Sting’s overtly better wrestling skills and stamina shown through, as Cactus Jack was trying to give it another go at it. This match had a silent crowd for the most part, until Cactus put on the Scorpion Death Lock, but didn’t get a submission out of it. This was a really slow moving match up, and Cactus started to act like a madman. At one point he slid into the cage on purpose in order to hit the camera man, and then he tried to get out of the cage through a hole made for the camera guy. Sting turned on the Scorpion Death Lock, it looked like it was going to be over somehow. Meanwhile, Foley got the barbed wire bat into the ring, and was ready to use it on Sting! Cactus Jack hit Sting in the crotch with the barbed wire bat, it looked terrible; a drop toe hold got Foley down, and Sting got the bat and was ready for revenge. Mr. Socko comes out! Sting finally gets busted open, but not really crazy. Foley took the barbed wire bat and hit Sting in the face with it. Foley and Sting started to climb out of the cage, and FOLEY drops out of the cage first, to WIN the TNA World Title! That’s right, MICK FOLEY defeats STING to win the TNA TITLE! MICK FOLEY IS THE NEW TNA CHAMPION!

Tna Impact 2/19/09 Results and Review More Angle Less Sting

The last time I heard of an empty arena match it was for the Super Bowl half time and featured Mick Foley and the Rock. It was one of the worst pieces of crap that wrestling has ever thrown at us.

The Motor City Machine defeated Guns Lethal Consequences

These two teams really fought each other, and it was basically a TLC match up. There were a lot of hard spots, including ladders and chairs. This match was a classic spot fest, and was almost like ECW had a small child, because this is what it used to be like back on ECW tv. The Motor City Machine Guns took over and won this match up, and their lame theme song played. I hate their entrance music, it’s so soft; this was an ok match at best.

Shane Sewell and LAX defeated Brutus Magnus, Sheik Abdul Bashir, and Matt Morgan

I guess Matt Morgan is heel now. Whatever, this match started off slow, and picked up a little, as most matches of this magnitude tend to do. Overall, not a terrible match up, but I’m not sure why this match happened. It seemed like they basically smashed six guys together because they needed to get some air time, that’s about it. Hernandez hit the Border Toss on Bashir and Shane Sewell got tagged in for the quick top rope move and it was over!

Taylor Wilde defeated Angelina Love

This match was good. Pretty standard Knockouts match up. I am always surprised with these women and I’m never not interesting in their matches; that being said, this match was a little short and I wanted more to it, but I guess they need to clear some room, good overall.

Beer Money defeated Team Canada (Eric Young & Petey Williams)

Apparently this match was for the careers or the belts. Weird. The former Team Canada members were working perfectly together, making this an entertaining early match up. Beer Money did get the upper hand after a while, but it wasn’t as impressive as the younger guys, who were like a house on fire in this match up, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Beer Money. Storm hit the Last Call on Petey Williams and it’s all over! Petey Williams is supposedly fired….I don’t know.

Sting vs. Kurt Angle (no contest)

I hate empty arena matches. Terry Funk fought Jerry Lawler in an empty arena match that was kind of cool, but these things usually suck. This match had both men outside of the ring, out to the floor and through the bleacher sections. Kurt Angle did a lot of taunting, which made the match stupid for me, because I don’t need to hear him talking. Sting was ready to knockout Kurt Angle with a chair, and Angle was crying and begging for Sting not to hit him, prompting Nash to come out and begging for it. Angle then asked to hit him, then Nash and Steiner stopped the match. So much for a clear cut winner…this sucked.

Tna Against All Odds 2009 Results and Review

The February ppv for TNA had a stacked card. Well, Stacked for TNA, and it was interesting to say the least. Here is how it all happened live on PPV!

Alex Shelley defeated Eric Young

Eric Young finally got another shot at the x-division title shot, and this time it’s not with Sheik Abdul Bashir. It’s against Alex Shelley, and you know what? The Alex Shelley music sucks so bad, man they need to get him something heavier. This match started out really well. Eric Young had a few missteps and Shelley took advantage of that, making a go for it, and introduction Young to a world of pain, with a lot of rest holds and random submission holds. Eric Young got a second win, and started blocking Alex Shelley’s attempts to get the upper hand. Eric Young then turned things around with a top rope leg drop and then things started to look on the up and up for him, until he missed a moonsault! I definitely thought this match some serious legs, and things looked like they were over many different times. I haven’t seen a good match in a while, and it seems that at least once or twice a month TNA introduces to us what professional wrestling is all about. The super bulldog from Shelley was insane, and the huge frog splash was incredible to say the least. After the near falls from those two moves, there seemed to be a few misses, and I swore that Eric Young screwed up a little. While Eric Young was distracted Shelley took the advantage and rolled up Young, pulled the tights and won the match! Alex Shelley retains the X-division championship.

Big Poppa Pump defeated Petey Williams

I personally feel that this is a complete mismatch, but that’s just me. I don’t know about you, but these two are NOT evenly matched whatsoever. Scott Steiner was getting the best of Petey Williams, creating a David vs Goliath scenario that we see a lot in the WWE with Rey Mysterio. Petey did manage a lot of short dropkicks, ala Konnan, and Steiner definitely had to really sell them, because Williams was proving to be a little more agile than I thought he would be against Big Poppa Pump. Steiner was flustered midway through this match, and it showed as the match went on longer. Steiner has a lot of weight to carry and it didn’t look like Steiner was working on his Cardio too much. Williams was basically smothered throughout the match up. Steiner cinched on the Steiner Recliner on Williams, but Petey managed to get to the ropes and Steiner let him go. Steiner defeated Petey Williams with the first time I’ve seen a reverse Piledriver since Owen Heart screwed up Stone Cold’s neck! Steiner wins with one of the sickest piledriver’s I’ve ever seen. He then finishes things off after the match up with a huge Angle slam off the middle rope.

FYI Samoa Joe’s new face pain makes him look stupid. He calls out Scott Steiner.

Brutus Magnus defeated Chris Sabin

Magnus put out an open challenge. Sabin answered, but his theme music made him look like a chump. This match was kind of funny to me. Magnus is NOT as big as the monster he is trying to portray. His style is similar to Lex Luger’s old style, but he isn’t as big or as tall. He spent a lot of the time trying to look more monstrous than he really was. Magnus hit some finishing move and got the win. Sabin didn’t stand a chance, Sabin sucks and his music sucks.

Someone should tell TNA that they don’t need a 20 minute backstage interview with Team 3-D. They aren’t Hogan, they aren’t Ultimate Warrior, they aren’t charismatic enough to get that kind of position. Oh well.

Awesome Kong defeated ODB

Awesome Kong went right to work on ODB after an initial flurry from the latter. Things weren’t too unlike what we already see on impact, with ODB getting in a good amount of offense before Awesome Kong started to throw her weight around, literally. Awesome Kong then hit a succession of her signature moves, and finally the Implant buster and BOOM! Awesome Kong defeats ODB once again proving that she is the most dominant of all the TNA knockouts.

Booker T defeated Shane Sewell

Booker T looked weak in a lot of this match up. The former or current ref was going nuts after a few minutes of getting beat. His style isn’t lending well to the much taller and bigger Booker T. Once things were going his way, he dropped his guard and Booker T made him pay! Booker T took out the ref, and kept his “legends” title, in one of the worse feuds ever produced for professional wrestling today. Booker T won this one, and then was set to beat on the ref more, but out came Aj Styles! Aj Styles came out and started fighting off Booker! Booker was taking some major shots, and most likely will defend the legends belt against AJ Styles later on. In fact, to foreshadow that, Styles was standing in the ring with the Belt and got on the mic to yammer…lame.

Abyss defeated Matt Morgan

Abyss took a lot of punishment in this match up. The match went all over the arena and eventually got back to the inside of the ring. Matt Morgan was letting Abyss work stiff, as Abyss was hitting heavy handed, closed fists to the top of his head. Abyss was taking liberties at different moments. Eventually the match got more plunder involved and after a few referee bumps, things really got out of control. Abyss eventually landed a black hole slam onto a chair for the big win. Abyss went out and got some thumbtacks and spread them all over the ring, but Morgan left before any damage could be done. Overall a stupid match, with no major moments that I can remember; which hopefully means we’ll never see these idiots fight again.

Beer Money defeated Lethal Consequences

If you’ve seen one tag team title match between Beer Money and any other team on the TNA roster, than you’ve seen them all. This match didn’t exactly thrill too hard. Sure there were moments where you thought someone was going to win, but overall it was the standard Beer Money doing whatever they could to win. So by saying that much, you got a good overall tag team match up. Beer Money is a sure fire throwback to the glory days of Tag Team wrestling! These guys are going to go on to be one of the hall of famers…as far as teams are concerned. Lethal Consequences got a lot of tags in this match up, which is expected. Beer Money walked away yet again with the titles, proving that they are probably hands down the best tag team in TNA right now.

Sting defeated Kurt Angle, Devon Dudley, and Bubba Ray Dudley

I was under the impression that this match was a four way match up, but Team 3D kept it a tag team affair. For the most part it was just them beating the hell out of Sting and Kurt Angle. Right when I started writing that, they were left in the ring together, alone, and they started to go at each other. They just went back and forth, nothing too spectacular, just rights and lefts with Devon getting the early edge before Bubba Ray started shifting his weight around and getting the upper hand. Devon is obviously the more fit of the two as Bubba Ray got tired fast and the two ended their action with a double clothesline, picture perfect double Clothesline; their fight was short lived. The match took a turn for the fun when Sting got locked into a figure four right next to Kurt Angle who was locked into a Boston crab submission hold! He was trying to pin Sting, who was right next to him. Both competitors got out of the holds and they started fighting each other. Kurt Angle got the better of the battle, and I thought for sure he was going to take Sting in this match up, as he was setting Sting up to lose this one. Best spot of the night, definitely was the Doomsday Device that Team 3-D did on Kurt Angle. After the dust settled, Sting hit the scorpion death lock on Bubba Ray to win this one and retain the TNA World Title.

TNA Impact 2/5/09 Results and Review Family Before Ego

This week, I was able to get Impact, and was really tired. I didn’t see Impact last week so this was all new to me, since they move from story to story on tna, and had to wake up to figure it all out.

Eric Young & Jay Lethal defeated The Motor City Machine Guns

Beer Money came out and attacked Lethal Consequences before the match could ever begin. The Motor City Machine Guns didn’t help, they just watched Beer Money beat up their opponents. The match continued though, and It wasn’t half bad, until the guys started missing their spots. Lethal most noticeably missed a big one. Consequences Creed was injured early on, so Eric Young took his place in this match up. I like Eric Young, he was eventually tagged as the fresh man, and he really looked good out there, hitting spots with ease and making them look good. Eric Young hit the death valley driver with both members of The Motor City Machine Guns on his back and won the match!

The Ref Shane defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir via dq

I hated this. Many TNA fans paid full price to see these two fight each other, with a good build up. Now they are fighting each other for no apparent reason? What the heck? I don’t like this at all. The match wasn’t too bad, standard Bashir match up. Bashir was all over the ref, and was in full control of this match up. This match just didn’t have me excited anymore. I just don’t care. Shane will wrestle Booker T this weekend, should be interesting to see Booker T win an easy match up. He’s not dropping the belt to Shane, trust me. The ref took a bump, and Booker T came out dressed as a ref and helped Bashir get the upper hand! The Ref had Bashir down for the three but Booker T wouldn’t count the pin! The match got thrown out, but I’m awarding the win to the Ref.

The Beautiful People defeated Roxxi & Taylor Wilde

I’ve seen this too many times before. These four women have been involved in matchups for a long time! It almost seems that we’ve gotten this match several times before, and that’s lame. If you’ve seen these women wrestle before, than you probably already saw his same match before. The Beautiful People were in full control of this match up. Roxxi went face first into the steps and didn’t recover until midway through the match up. The Beautiful People win an unlikely match here, and finally look like a dominant team. Cute Kip should’ve been in the Main Event Mafia instead of t his crap.

Post match a Governer Sarah Palin impersonater to hit the “Thrillah from Wasillah” which was a twisting northern lights suplex, aka the perfect plex. I think. It was stupid.

Brutus Magnus defeated Shark Boy

I can’t believe that Shark Boy is still with TNA! I haven’t seen that guy in the ring in a long time, and it looked like he still had that Stone Cold Steve Austin move set…or at least the vest. Magnus looked to be in control overall in this debut. It wasn’t a complete blow out, but Shark Boy lost this one. Lame.

Rhino vs. Matt Morgan No Contest

I lost track of what was going on here. I just know that these two were in a match up when Abyss interfered and caused the match to get thrown out. Nothing major here, Abyss looked scary, and it looks like he has Matt Morgan’s number.

Kurt Angle and sting vs. Team 3-D

This match turned into a no contest when the main event mafia interfered. Not a whole lot to speak of here. Sorry. The tension builds between Kurt Angle and Sting, that’s about it.

TNA Genesis 2009 ppv Results and Review

Here we go folks, the first ppv for the TNA wrestling brand, and it should be a slobber knocker right? Who knows…one thing is for sure, it’s been brewing for a while, this one.

Lax & Eric Young defeated Sonjay Dutt, Jimmy Rave, and Tanahashi

*note, my sound was messed up and TNA didn’t put up the names of those involved in this opening match, so I had to just guess what was going on.

The match started fast paced, and stayed that way overall. The guys in this match are all veterans of the x-division and tag team openers on ppv. Homicide looked great and with Hernandez, just looked so crisp overall, they re so great as a team, I can’t imagine them not being a team forever. Things change though, we’ll see how it all pans out. The first half of the match was all LAX those dudes had this match in complete control. Eric Young once again looks so good, I can’t believe they wasted him in the prince justice brotherhood for so long. This match was mostly x-division style. If you’re a fan of high spot matches, you’d enjoy this match greatly, it was mostly high spots and fast paced action. Midway through the match up I realized that this was an elimination style tag team match. Thanks Comcast for the sound sucking on the ppv. The ending of this match was basically all Hernandez, as he put away three guys in a row.

Alex Shelley defeated Chris Sabin

This match opened up with a stalemate, with each skater reversing the others slow motion tests of strength. Then things started to open up, as is the case with all x-division match ups. Sabin looked stronger to me in this match up, Shelley seemed to be desperate to keep up, but that caused mistakes and things were just one sided mid match up. Then it really opened up and things were just changing. Alex Shelley was my early on favorite in this match up, but it seemed that Sabin was getting little comebacks left and right. I thought for sure Alex Shelley was going to win with a picture perfect frog splash, but sabin fought back and was hitting some major power moves to get closer and closer to winning this match up. Alex Shelley managed to pick up the win on this match, and somewhat surprising to Sabin, and is the NEW x-division champion! Shelley played injured, then rolled up Sabin for the win. They hugged afterwards, showing no major hurt feelings.

Shane Sewell defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

This match up was brewing for a long time, and it’s about tiem we got this thing to happen. Sheik has to be one of the most hated wrestlers in professional wrestling today. Shane started this match like a man possessed, immediately fighting Bashir tooth and nail, not letting any rest happen in this match. Bashir was getting worked over like a jobber early on. It’s actually exciting to see a match of this capacity, due to the build up that was created from the weeks of set up. Sheik Bashir had a few moments of action, and was looking to be set to win this one, but Shane kept turning things around and it just looked like he was headed for an easy win. The crowd was getting behind him too, and this could be the birth of an all new good professional wrestling talent for a change! As soon as the figure four leg lock was applied, the crowd went crazy with whole sections going, “Wooo!”. Bashir got out and then started to punish the former ref within near disqualification realms. At this point Bashir got frustrated with Earl Hebner, shoved him, and Hebner swung at Bashir! The chase was on, and Shane got back in with a surprise sunset flip for the pinfall victory! The referees came out to ringside and won this match, that’s right, Shane defeats Sheik Abdul Bashir!

Beer Money Inc. defeated Matt Morgan & Abyss and Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed

Due to the impact match, this three way dance was for the TNA tag team titles, and why not? A very exciting match up we had here, but it was slow to move forward. As the match progressed, each team kept trying to one up one another and score the pinfall, but then Abyss came in and just killed! Ok, maybe not kill, but him and Matt Morgan really proved to be the guys to watch in this match. Beer Money though, proved that hey are the best team a they were really trying to stay focused and prove their thing. Matt Morgan was starting to look weak, s Beer Money finally was getting owned. Abyss grabbed one of the belts, and then accidentally knocked out Matt Morgan! Robert Roode has this thing sewn up, but then Machismo hit the big elbow, before getting a super kick to the face! Robert Roode once again rolled over onto Matt Morgan and scored the victory! That’s right, Beer Money inc win again!

Post match, Matt Morgan seemed really frustrated with Abyss and really swerved the crowd. Ok, we saw it coming, but still. Matt Morgan got really mad at Abyss and started yelling at him. The camera cut to backstage, and that was that.

ODB, Roxxi, and Taylor Wilde defeated Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan, and Sojourner Bolt

This six man tag might have been a replacement for the women’s title match, or just another match on the card. I’m not sure. I didn’t really hear what was going on as my sound kept cutting out. I love the knockouts of tna, they prove time and time again that they are the best thing going as far as female professional wrestling. Forget the wwe divas, they suck compared to this. Awesome kong’s team lost this one. It prompted Awesome Kong to come out and push ODB the fight was on! The rest of the matches participants started fighting, and Kong stood over Odb before delivering a huge choke slam!

Kurt Angle defeated Jeff Jarrett

I haven’t seen a match with this much force in a long time. Not since probably an old Bret Hart, Mr Perfect match up. Jarrett came in ther working stiff and Angle was meeting him right there. Jarrett hasn’t looked this great in years. Seriously, he was out there like a house of fire, it was awesome. Kurt Angle took a nasty spill outside and then Jarrett followed him by nearly beheading himself on the floor outside, as dove over the top! Seriously, it looked scary, and he just face planted the floor. Kurt Angle looked to be too far away to catch him. Jeff Jarrett was busted open, and Angle pounced yet again! There was another nasty spot as Kurt Angle dropped Jarrett through a table off the TNA Genesis stage, and it looked sick, seriously, this looked so sick. I thought Jarrett was broken in half, as the table slipped on the floor and broke in half, but it just looked sick. If you saw it, you know what I’m talking about. This match was getting really good, and double J introduced the guitar! Angle managed to avoid the initial set up of the guitar and looked to be the aggressor at this point. Angle nearly behead Jarrett with a steel chair, then planted him back into near submission with the Ankle Lock submission! This thing looked to be over as Double J was in serious looking pain, and right in the center of the ring! Double J escaped, and managed to reverse the Angle slam into a ddt, then when for the guitar, but cut the neck off, only to reach for the Steel Chair that Angle used previously. Double J hit Angle square in the face with the steel chair and I thought for sure this thing was over. Kurt Angle was covered, but rolled Jarrett into a pinning situation, and this thing looked to be in his favor as it stunned Double J long enough to lose this match up. That’s right, Kurt Angle defeats Jeff Jarrett with a surprise roll up from a pinning position. A lateral press into a pin and it was all over.

Post match up, Kurt Angle beat up Double J and then stomped his ankle into a steel chair. Things looked bad, and then he left the ring.

Sting defeated Rhino

The whole night they have been saying that Rhino was missing and that no one could find him. So when things went downhill and he showed up bleeding and hurt, I wasn’t surprised at all. This match was a standard methodical Sting match. Rhino did get in some great offense up front, but he was no match for sting, as he easily wins this one. Someone give Sting some competition, because this is just not that great for me. Sorry.

Kevin Nash was not in our main event. So the Main Event Mafia gets a new person to come in and that person is Kip James!

Brother Devon, Aj Styles, and Mick Foley defeated Booker T, Kip James and Scott Steiner

What can I say? These six man tag matches aren’t that great to me. I don’t like them all that much because it seems like I’ve already seen every single combination of tag team turmoil that I can possibly see in these modern times. This was a normal tag match, then it got really bad, and Jim Cornette declared it a HARDCORE match. That’s right, texas tornado no rules match and things go nuts. Foley goes through a table Aj goes through a table, socko comes into play right into Booker T’s mouth. A trash can shot happens somewhere in here, and THE PLUNDER ALERT siren is going off, as Foley gets his butt kicked by the mafia. Mick Foley gets the pinfall here, and it was lame. FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS!

TNA Genesis 2009 Results

Lax & Eric Young defeated Sonjay Dutt, Jimmy Rave, and Tanahashi
Alex Shelley defeated Chris Sabin
Shane Sewell defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir
Beer Money Inc. defeated Matt Morgan & Abyss and Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed
ODB, Roxxi, and Taylor Wilde defeated Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan, and Sojourner Bolt
Kurt Angle defeated Jeff Jarrett
Sting defeated Rhino
Brother Devon, Aj Styles, and Mick Foley defeated Booker T, Kip James and Scott Steiner

Overall an Ok ppv. I didn’t expect too much from TNA. They aren’t known for their super cards at all. This isn’t going to top the Royal Rumble this year, but I think that it’s going to be better, personally. The best match here for me was the referee killing the Sheik, and of course the knockouts, wow, good stuff yet again from the women of TNA. If you missed this one, you didn’t miss much, in my humble opinion.

TNA Impact 1/8/09 Review and Results

It’s been a couple of weeks since I ventured into a full review of TNA and that’s all because they haven’t had a full show, until now. Hopefully in 2009 TNA doesn’t suck as bad as they were doing all last year. It’s been a tough road, but I’m sure they’ll figure something out.

Alex Shelley defeated Eric “Showtime” Young

The match opened up fast and furious. Shelley was all over Young, creating some high spots right out of the box. It started off quite well, and Shelley wasn’t letting up at all. All points were going for Alex Shelley as he was dropping bombs onto Eric Young. Young was definitely not doing so well in this match up, and it just seemed like he was jobbing, until Young turned things around with a quick counter out of the corner and just went for it! However, Chris Sabin turned things around for Shelley as he interfered, hitting Eric Young and allowing Shelley to hit sliced bread, creating another win for Alex Shelley in this x-division championship, semi-final match up.

Post match, Referee Shane was getting beat up by Sheik Abdul Bashir! However he went nuts and exploded, he started fighting back, and he might get fired? Whatever, he’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time, and if he gets a match against Bashir, it would be rad. Jim Cornette fires Referee Shane, and turns him into a full time wrestler and he will get to wrestle Abdul Bashir one on one at Genesis!

Awesome Kong defeated Madison Rayne

Awesome Kong had an easy match against the new woman’s wrestler Madison Rayne. This wasn’t even close, Rayne didn’t get any offense in before getting dropped with the Awesome Bomb. Kong wins again, proving that she’s the biggest obstacle to the Women’s championship.

Matt Morgan defeated Robert Roode

I hate when wrestling shows do this, they split the tag teams and have singles match ups as a preliminary warm up to the weekend’s ppv tag team contest. Roode was doing great in this match, and while Morgan started this match with a lot more gusto, Roode was in control for the majority of this match up. Robert Roode either faked a knee injury or legitimately or tried to pull a fast one.

Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal & Consequences Creed defeated Beer Money Inc. for the the TNA Tag Team Championship Titles

Beer Money got thrown into an impromptu match thanks to feast or fired! The Tag team championship titles were on the line here, and this was definitely reminiscent of the WWE money in the bank match ups and opportunities. Lethal gets the last laugh in this match up as he trips up half of beer money into the steel briefcase, then uses the briefcase to knockout one of the members of Beer Money Inc. creating a NEW TNA World Tag Team Champions! Creed and Lethal are your new TNA Tag Team Champions!

Kurt Angle defeated BG James

I don’t know anyone that really thought BG James would win in this match against Kurt Angle. BG had a few hits in this match, but overall, Kurt Angle dominated this match up and really put the boots to BG. There wasn’t anything to this match other than a Kurt Angle highlight show. The Main Event Mafia comes out, sans Sting, and they bring out a chair, and stomp on it, trying to break the ankle of BG ala Brian Pillman and Stone Cold Steve Austin…remember that? You better remember.

Overall not a bad show, but not a great show. It seemed that there was just too much story and not enough wrestling, as usual.

TNA Impact 12/25/08 Results and Review Christmas Edition

I can’t believe TNA Impact ran a show on Christmas. This might be the worst move that TNA has done in a long time, but whatever, here is a review and results for TNA’S Christmas Day show.

Chris Sabin defeated Kiyoshi

This match was ok at best, Sabin pulled out quite the victory over Kiyoshi, who reminds me a lot of the Great Muta. This match was not as good as the debut we saw last week, but Sabin held his own and won the match with the Cradleshock.

Post match Shane the ref was getting punked out by Sheik Abdul Bashir, only to prompt Suicide to come down into the ring and change things up.

Eric Young vs. Alex Shelley

It was an hour into the show when this second match started. This match began in the backstage area where Shelley was talking smack about Eric Young and the two ended up fighting into the ring, and I’m not sure what happened. I guess this wasn’t the match? It was just a brawl for no reason? That means that TNA only had one match in 1 hour! What a piece of crap wrestling show, this is the worst thing that could ever happen in regards to wrestling, what a piece of trash. This made me mad.

Booker T & Scott Steiner vs. Aj Styles & Brother Devon (no contest)

This match started at around 10:05 according to my clock and I was getting fed up with tna altogether. I wasn’t interested in this match up at all, but I always enjoy Aj Styles, so I gave it a chance. This match was dominated by the frontline, each one giving some tough shots to Steiner. Steiner however did have some excellent suplexes, but overall this match started out one sided and eventually evened out with the main event mafia taking over midway. After the commercial break the announce team informs us that this match is now a no contest because the four men have now spilled to outside the ring and into the crowd and parking lot! This broke out into a huge brawl back into the ring, and even prompted Mick Foley to come out and get physically involved! That’s right, Foley was in there and out came Socko! That’s right, Foley was out there beating the hell out of the main event mafia, insane indeed.

ODB, Roxxy, Christy Hemme, and Taylor Wilde defeated Raisha Saeed, Sojourner Bolt, Awesome Kong, and Rhaka Khan

The women of tna dressed in their most festive outfits fought each other in a tag team match up that featured all the women in the ring at the same time. This match really lost control fast and the ref had a hard time controlling the action, but it was alright, because the hard camera stayed in position and you saw the better parts of this match up. Eventually things spilled out to the outside of the ring and there was a great high spot from Taylor Wilde, creating an awesome reaction and great position for the knockouts to prove yet again that they are ten times better than the wwe divas! The match came down to Taylor Wilde scoring the pin for her team and once again proving that the TNA knockouts are 100 billion times better than anything that wwe is doing right now with their women’s division.

Kurt Angle vs. Rhino (No Contest)

This was a rematch from the ppv, which makes me want to never ever get another TNA ppv in my lifetime. Seriously, how many times are wrestling companies going to give us these matches free, after the fact? This is stupid. Anyways, this match up was standard to say the least. Angle really was lazy out there, focusing more on trying to antagonize Jeff Jarrett, whom was out at ringside, including spitting in his face! Kurt Angle was trying to draw as much heat as he could, meanwhile Rhino was chasing the former champ to try and get this match over with. If you’ve seen one Kurt Angle match you’ve seen them all, as this match really didn’t poise a lot of new combat for either wrestler involved. This match was interesting to me on many levels, but mostly because I had nothing better to do on my Christmas night, as I had to work in the morning and it doesn’t matter to me if I’m tired the next day. Kurt Angle got the ankle lock submission late in the match, in the middle of the ring, and things looked bad but Angle was sent to the floor right by Double J, and this caused Angle to slap Jeff Jarrett!

This match was thrown out as Jeff Jarrett interfered and attacked Kurt Angle. The backstage area cleared out and the two were separated. This was ok for all intents and purposes but I wasn’t truly convinced. BG James was sucker punched by Angle at the end, and it was all over. I’m tired.

Tna Impact 12/11/08 Angle Gets Jarrett Review and Results

I’m tired again and I don’t want to watch Tna, but I somehow make it through.

The opening of the show is just the Main Event Mafia and the TNA Originals arguing about random crap. They also announce an x-division tournament to determine a new –division champion, since they have once again stripped Eric Young of the title.

Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

The first round of the tournament started with the same match we saw the last two ppv’s. The two put together a decent, although very short match. The match had no major highlights except for the Eric Young suplex roll up pinfall victory. No new ref dealings, but it was all good. Quick match, worthy of wwe velocity or something, nothing too special, and if you missed it, it wasn’t all that great. They don’t let the x-division shine on free television, where they should.

Alex Shelley defeated Black Machismo Jay Lethal

This match should have been way better, considering what went down at the ppv, but for whatever reasons, it just didn’t happen the way I expected. Once again a short, quick spot match up. The best part was definitely Jay Lethal jumping out of the ring with a suicide dive on Sabin! Sabin wasn’t even paying too much attention and it looked surprising. Shelley won a rather simple and easy match up to move on in the tournament.

James Storm defeated Abyss in a beer on a pole match

This was the worst gimmick on a pole match I’ve seen in a long time. They finally made things idiotic, a beer on a pole match? Seriously? What the heck guys? FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! Seriously, FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! This match was lame, Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam but didn’t go for the pin. Matt Morgan ran down to help, but Bobby Roode nearly knocked out Abyss with a chair, and James Storm wins this very stupid gimmick match up.

They opened up the stupid gimmick cases.

Hernandez case #4 got him: World Title shot!
Curry Man case #3 got him: Fired!
Homicide case #1 got him: X-Division Title Shot!

I knew they were going to fire Curry man. So now Christopher Daniels can be Suicide right? I don’t know.

Christy Hemme defeated Sojourner Bolt

I wasn’t surprised by this. Sojourner Bolt gave a good challenge, then the heel turn happened. Not bad. Awesome Kong might have a new ally here. Hemme freaked out after the match and attacked her opponent. This match wasn’t too memorable at all, at least I didn’t think so.

Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Kurt Angle fought to a no contest

This match was stupid to. Bubba Ray hasn’t been a relevant singles wrestler since his lonely run in WWE where he lost a lot of weight. This turned into an ECW reminder with Bubba Ray cut wide open and the two wrestlers fighting in the back stage area. This was definitely a throwback for me, because this used to happen all the time on ECW tv. Scott Steiner hit Bubba Ray Dudley with a pipe and the rest of the mafia beat him down. Lame.

TNA Impact 11/20/08 Results and Review Leadership…Divided

The Main Event Mafia opened up the show with a casket in the ring, and they made it seem that Christian is going back to WWE for sure. I’m not sure if this is real or fake, which is interesting on one note, however, it should be interesting that Christian returns to WWE. I can’t confirm that at all, but it would be nice to see it done.

Rhino comes out now and he starts talking about Christian. It was boring. I didn’t care, and apparently neither did Kevin Nash! Hilarious. Rhino claims to be a veteran? Weird. I’m tired of this storyline, seriously, didn’t the wwe and wcw do this already? Remember the ppv “New Blood” from wcw? Didn’t they do this? Oh well. I’m tired. They basically beat up Rhino, busting him wide open with the Veterans belt. You would think that the backstage area would come down to the ring, but no one really got there. They then shoved Rhino into a casket! That’s right, Rhino was placed into a casket! I kid you not. NO TNA Wrestlers came out to save Rhino, what a load of crap.

Consequences Creed & Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal defeated Sonjay Dutt w/ So cal Val & Tanahashi

A tag team x-division match? This seems too weird, personally, I thought that the Jay Lethal Sonjay Dutt finished their feud? Not only that, when was Tanahashi heel? Seriously, this match makes no sense. Despite this not making sense, the guys put on a show. The x-division is great, these guys throw together a great piece of tandem wrestling moves, with splashes, corkscrews, and quick tags. This is a perfect example of what cruiserweight wrestlers can do, if the promotion allows them to move forward. You gotta give these guys credit, they put on one heck of a match, even if it was shorter than I’d like it to be, and it was thrown together for no apparent reason. Consequences Creed got the pin, out of the blue, and this match up was a bit too short. It was over before I had a chance to even finish my sentence. Oh well, this match didn’t really matter a whole lot.

Cornette forces Eric Young to give up the x-division title to Sheik Abdul Bashir. This turn of events directly relates to the Y2J cruiserweight division victories of 1999. Remember? From January to July, Chris Jericho found every loophole in the book to keep his title after losing it.

The Beautiful People defeated Christy Hemme & Sojourner Bolt

We get a new comer to the TNA Knockouts division. She looks good out there, a little green, but overall looks like she can be a somewhat relevant addition to the knockouts division. She took major shot to the face early on, but she hung in there for her debut. The Beautiful People were focusing on the new girl Sojourner, and the crowd was behind the new girl, but she wasn’t really getting a good comeback. Christy Hemme got the hot tag, and cleaned house. She looked good for once, but she got hit with the knock out and loses to the beautiful people yet again! I was surprised at the way this one turned out.

ODB’s show finally showed up and this thing sucked. ODB can’t act, and this show sucked. I’m tired of this horrible filler. Seriously, stupid filler.

Aj Styles & Samoa Joe defeated The Motor City Machine Guns

This match got off to an exciting start. Within the first five minutes, all members were outside of the ring and flying through the ropes, over the ropes, and onto each other! This was awesome! These guys really threw up a good opening, until commercial break, which featured the new Punisher movie, which I will be seeing, since I’m a huge Marvel Knights fan. The match returns and this thing was vast paced and didn’t really have a lot of psychology to it. It was spot after spot after spot, which is somewhat ok, but seemed like a little too much. Styles hit he Pele and then landed the styles clash for the victory! It was a good match, great stuff here, even if it was a little shorter than I’d like to see. I still don’t like that established tag teams get beat every time. It’d be nice to see an established tag team win as a team, like the old days. Oh well.

Booker T defeated Eric Young

This is interesting on one level. It’s a fresh, new match up. I like this in that aspect, however, I don’t like the fact that we know that this match is going to favor Booker T. There is no way Eric Young is going to win the veteran’s belt, there’s just no way. This match wasn’t so bad, Young focused on grounding Booker T, and Booker looked genuinely frustrated as the x-division wrestler was working him over. However, Booker turned this match around and with a lot of slow moving methodology, took apart Eric Young and defeated him as expected. Booker T wins the match after hitting the ax kick.

Kurt Angle & Kevin Nash defeated Matt “The Blueprint” Morgan & Abyss

Once again, these guys get thrown together into another match up. I don’t like Matt Morgan, but I do give TNA credit with giving him a chance to shine out there in the ring. That’s something that WWE never really did, so TNA is actually doing something different, for a change. This match started with a stale mate between Abyss and Angle. Angle didn’t look so great against the monster Abyss. Matt Morgan got into the match and things were looking great until Angle clipped him and Kevin Nash go in and delivered one heck of a lariat. The match was all Angle and Nash for the most part. However, things turned around and it was left with Nash and Morgan in the ring fighting each other. Beer Money came down, but Abyss knocked them out, and threw Angle in the ring. Beer Money smashes Abyss with a Beer Bottle and Kevin Nash jumps Abyss for the pin! Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle defeated Matt Morgan and Abyss! Once again they lose.

That was it for TNA as far as wrestling is concerned. They end their show with Mick Foley out in the ring announcing the double main event for TNA ppv. This was stupid, why would they end a wrestling show with Foley in the ring talking? This is wrestling! Let’s see some wrestling, for a change! Come on, fire all the TNA writers! Seriously, this is how you end your wrestling show? Foley is ok on the mic, but I’d rather watch one more match up, then to see Foley out there talking up a storm. Foley announces two matches, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner & Sting vs. Samoa Joe, and two unnamed opponents Aj styles but if the Main Event mafia loses, Aj Styles will be the Tna Champion! The other match up will be Kurt Angle vs. Rhino! This isn’t huge, I’m just going to tell you that right now.

The cool thing at the end of TNA was Foley getting punked out by Kurt Angle, prompting Jeff Jarrett to come out and defend him. Then Angle punked out Double J and Rhino jumped him!
